husk x fem!reader series (part 1)

summary: your soul is owned by alastor, and so is husk's. the two of you became friends when you first came to the hotel, and you try to hide the fact that alastor has your soul.

・❥ today was the day you began to live at this new hotel, that you came across while scrolling on twitter. you stood at the door, taking a deep breath before knocking. a blonde headed woman opened the door, smiling brightly at you. "HI!! YOU MUST BE (name) !!!" she beamed, grabbing your hand and shaking it. "yea.. that's mee" you giggled, her enthusiasm made you laugh.

"I'm charlie!! welcome to the hazbin hotel" she welcomed you in, helping you grab some of your bags and suitcases. you spotted a few people in the lobby of the hotel, their heads were all turned to you with amusement. "vaggie!! come meet the new hotel member come quick come quick!!" charlie fanned for vaggie to hurry to the door, as she walked over to you. "helloooo" the girl said calmly, an X over her eye which quickly caught your attention. "this is vaggie!! my girlfriend!!" charlie smiled, as she walked you over to the others. "this is angel, sir pentious, and nifty!!" they all waved or said their greetings, as you returned the smile and wave. "and over heree we have husk!" she walked you over to the bar, and your eyes met with this man named husk. "hiii!" you spoke first, a little more enthusiasm in talking to this one, he certainly caught your eye. "oh new person?" husk subtly waved at you, slightly smiling. this was new for husk.. he didn't normally smile. "yes! she'll be staying here for now on" charlie explained, you could've sworn a sparkle glazed across husk's eyes as charlie mentioned how you'd be staying here. "alright then..hello .....?" his words traveled off, wanting to greet you by your name but he didnt know it. you caught the hint of this, giving up your name. "oh my apologies, i'm (name) !" you shook his hand, returning the smile that had never left his face. "seems like you two are getting along! i'll catch up to you later (name) , got some papers to tend to! let me know if you need anything!" charlie spoke rather fast with her high pitched voice, but you somehow made out what she said and nodded.

you chuckled, smiling and turning around sitting at the bar. "soo uhh.." you mumbled, not knowing how to start a conversation. "what brings you here?" husk picked up a cloth, cleaning a glass that was set on a shelf. "well, i uhmm recently had a house fire. the entire house didn't burn down, but the majority of it did. and it wasn't a suitable living situation, so i decided to come here" you mumbled, the thought of your old house making your mood shift.

husk frowned, placing the glass down. "damn.. i'm sorry to hear about that , glad you're okay" he leaned on the bar top, looking at you. "thank you.. you know you don't seem like a bad person, you look angry though" you raised an eyebrow, also leaning on the bar top. "eh, i probably am most of the time. people always pissin' me off or doin stupid shit, life is life nowdays." he spoke lowly, but loud enough for you to hear. "mmh, i understand that. buttttt life is also what you make it, so cheer up and see where that road takes you yea?" you smiled, causing him to smile too. he straightened his posture from leaning, replying to your comment. "i like your mindset.. really makes me think" he was gaining a liking to you, you were easy to talk to and understanding.

you went to speak back, but suddenly you felt a hand on your shoulder. you flinched and looked up, seeing the person you've hated the most. alastor. "fuck fuckk why is he fucking here?" you thought in your mind , not even noticing the angry and disgusted facial expression you were giving alastor. "greetings (name)! i see you've come to my lovely hotel!" alastor spoke, his radio affect lacing his voice as he remained with the same grin he's had for years. you didn't say anything back, you just looked at him. glaring at him. "well what's with the face my dear? that's no way to look at your dear friend." you couldve sworn his smile got wider.

as alastor taunted you, husk glared at him, but glanced back at you confused on how the 2 of you know each other. "we're far from friends, don't try me." you snapped, turning back around looking at the counter with a blank stare. "in a bad mood today are we? it's alright dear, i'll let you and husker continue your conversation" alastor continued smiling as he walked off out of sight.

there was a few moments of silence between you and husk, but husk finally spoke up. "..you know him?" he looked at you with an eyebrow raised , curious about your response. "yea i uhmm uhh he's just an old uhh.. associate.." you stuttered, not wanting to spill the fact alastor owned your soul. "why'd you seem so irritated with him? something he did wrong?" husk questioned. "..well yes.. but no! but he kindaa did something? he kinda still does it.. well not really.. that's not really how you'd describe it. uhh.." you ranted, you were absolutely horrible at lying. you always start stuttering, or your words get mixed up and you talk fast.

"woah woah slow down.. if you don't wanna talk about it that's fine, seems to me like you're trying to force an answer out of yourself." god he was good at reading people..he explained exactly what you're doing. trying to force an answer out because you don't wanna hide any secrets from him, but the feeling of people knowing he owns your soul makes you a bit embarrassed, and upset. "i guess he's just.. i don't know.. i hate him." you mumbled, husk nodding in agreement. "i could say the same, i despise that man with everything in me." you laughed , as your conversation with him continued.

later, you walked down the hallways to your new room, attempting to find it. "221 221..where is 221.." you spoke in your mind, scanning the room numbers for your number. suddenly, you saw a green neon light coming from a certain hallway, and some distant chatter. you walked towards the hallway, confused with an eyebrow raised. you peeped around the corner with half of your body showing, as you felt at least 5 emotions jump around in your body.

you saw husk being pulled to alastor by a glowing green chain, as alastor looked more demonic than you'd saw earlier, you recognized alastors expression. it all came to you in an instant, your mind was scrambled, feeling fear, sadness, shock, and worry all at once.

"husk...?"

a/n: this was fun to write, ill try to make the next chapter a little longer but i got lazy towards the end of this, hope you enjoy it thooo

hiii i have a possible bug report, but first i wanted to say that i really like your story, your writing is very good, the plot is super interesting and i’m excited to read the whole thing! :)

as for the issue: so i’m at the part where you get to do a few different things before you embark on the journey (speak to your parents, lakota and then find someone to have a romantic encounter with). I found two bugs (? i assume that’s what they are haha), first is during the romantic encounter where you could choose if kissing on the mouth was okay or not, i chose that it was okay yet they never did this (unless i missed it but just to be sure i played through the scene twice). And then after this i got the option to visit lakota again even though i had already done so (speaking to da and papa were both greyed out since i’d already done those). i’m gonna go see him again just so i don’t happen to miss anything but i thought i’d report these to you before i do! so sorry for the long ask, i tried to keep it as brief as possible😅 anyway thanks in advance and i hope you’re doing well :)

Thank you for letting me know about the issues you’ve seen too, that helps me a lot! I have only 2 poor souls for play-testing, and they can only do so much lol.

Anyway...

As for the Kanta scene, I went back and forth about that while writing those. I think there is only really one mention of lip-locking at the very beginning of the encounter. I primarily wanted it to be an option for an MC that maybe wasn’t comfortable smoochin’ during an aromantic encounter. Once I started writing and editing, I then found myself on the fence on how much I wanted to put into it, and kissing kinda got the boot. I didn’t want to put all my spicy cards on the table quite yet. But, if the people want lip-service, who am I to deny them? I think I'll try to add a bit more to those scenes to make the 'yes' choice more worth your time.

Now, for that section not tracking your visits correctly, I’m going to dive in and see what I can find, I have an idea of where the hangup could be. I remember organizing all that, and it tested the bandwidth of my brain so hard since it was all new to me, lol. Pretty sure I cried into a plate of emotional-support nachos that night.

HELLOOOO EVERYONE i am going to make a new year post after all! currently beginning working on this at 11:32 pm because i know it’s going to take me a while and i thought it would be nice to spend the turning of the new year talking about my friends. i also hope you enjoy this header i’m using it because i’m too lazy to make a cute one and i might later and also one of my friends said do it or no balls. 

honestly this year went by incredibly quickly for me. it was pretty uneventful, which might be a good thing!! i did get to meet two of my best online friends in the world when i saw stray kids live this summer, and that was probably top 10 days of my life!! so i’m really thankful that happened this year if nothing else. i’m one year closer to graduating community college as a part time student, and i’ll be turning 26 this month 😭 but you know, making it another year in itself is a big accomplishment if nothing else! i’m proud of everyone that made it another year and thank you for being here with me to read this post. i really appreciate all of you, whether we’re close friends or simply beloved casual mutuals, or if you’re even just a follower of mine; thank you for putting up with and even enjoying my sporadic posting and vaguely unhinged tags and gifs and other content, whether here or over on yangjeongin.

this will be my third turn of the new year i’m celebrating with everyone on tumblr upon return from my seven or whatever year hiatus, and it’s crazy that i’ve been giffing again since 2020. some of you have been with me since all the way back then and i’m so thankful!! i didn’t spend a ton of time on my dash this year (thank u to my bad internet that takes forever to load thereby making it an incredibly frustrating experience!) but i have more in the past several weeks and i’ve really enjoyed it!! i’m hoping that only continues into 2023.

helloooo today's reminder is that 1. Han is right we shouldn't trust the robots and 2. true to my word i did listen to superm and I really do like the second album but I also listened to resonance and dear god. that album is a masterpiece. it contains the entire spectrum of human emotion without one single mediocre/bad song (in this house we do not tolerate work it slander). also really made me miss sungtaro :( i wonder how they'll sub for the new nct concert but no one's coming close to the iconic 90s love verse. i hope riize treats them better. tho I heard there's a very rich nepo baby on that team so hopefully that should mean steady employment. but yeah it did lowkey break my heart to listen to their voices on songs and really like them and then realise I'm not going to hear them on any more nct stuff :(

Hiii! We shouldn't trust robots why are people trying to invent them find something else to invent do they not watch scifi, the proof is right there. Artificial intelligence is not the move, go back. There's more important things to create.

Resonance is so good. And work it was a masterpiece and I'm not just saying that cause it was all biases in one group get back to me in a year for how feel about Jisung I'm very conflicted and can't articulate it well but....he's on the cusp of where Renjun and Yangyang are which, I'll get to that later. But I miss Taro and Sungchan so much, they came served and left, what sm did was so cruel and unfair but at least they have a stable home now but believe me they're gonna somehow end up in NCT and NCT Japan is just gonna disappear and never happen.

Also the recent teasers more proof the order was just drawn out of a hat. But Yangyang and Renjun are definitely my favorites. Renjun's reminds me of a 2000s dark indie teen movie that aerial shot was breathtaking, Renjun perfectly performed that melancholy hopeless feeling an the scenery. Yangyang's was kind of like the otherside of town version of Renjun's where it's a little more rough and grungy and still l like a indie teen movie but less melancholy and more aggressive and angsty. Like I loved theirs so much. Jaehyun and Tens were cool too. But there's a specific aesthetic and vibe I really love that they've had and the only way I can explain it is skylines and turnstiles, I know thats an MCR song. But it best conveys what I'm trying to say. The song actually sounds similar to Yang & Yuta's teaser instrumentals. Yutas teaser also falls into this. Wait I have an idea.

This worked out exactly as I hoped. Yang,Yuta and Renjun's are definitely my favorites so far. I actually don't super love cutesy or romantic concepts. The more grungy industrial twilight hour stuff appeals to me more.

☆ — NAZUNA NiTO !!

nazuna's idea of 'playing around' centers mostly around playing video games with him. one that he has really been into ever since you two were little is the sims and he hasn't stopped playing it ever since. you always get to watch in amazement as he creates perfect replicas of you and himself and then does all kinds of crazy shenanigans with those little characters.

if you're going out somewhere, though, nazuna also has a lot of activities you two could do! he keeps a lot of the toys from your childhood, so stuff like frisbees, various sports balls and even hula hoops are practically on hand at any given moment. it's like a kindergarten gym closet inside your house.

nazuna may not look like it, but he can definitely be aggressive when he's playing competitively. this is especially proven true when he nearly tackled you down a hill when you two were playing some makeshift version of football. in the end, you ended up with a bruise or two, but he swore he would make up for it. (he bought you ice cream everyday for a week)

he doesn't really play any kind of rpg or competitive games by himself, but you should know sitting down with him and battling it out in a pvp game will end in your total demise. he isn't exactly a gamer by any means, so it's almost impressive how you can hand him any game and he'll learn it almost immediately.

also, he's known to give in almost instantly if he notices you're sad about losing. sometimes he'll even mess up on purpose, even if he knows you'll notice, just so you can win.

☆ — NAGiSA RAN !!

nagisa is a strange case when it comes to playing around with you, because he's so invested in his own thing that it's pretty much impossible to tear him away from it. he'll continue to tell you “i'll be there in a second” and then continue his own hobby for another hour.

if you really insist on hanging out with him, you'll probably end up watching some kind of documentary related to gemstones or rocks, or he's going to sit you down just to talk about the things he likes. of course, you get a turn too! that new show you watched last week? he's all ears, tell him about it!

okay, you're really pushing your luck when you're making him go outside, but since he's your brother, he doesn't complain too much. actually, he ends up quite enjoying your trips to shopping centers, even though he doesn't seem thrilled about it any time you bring it up. he always finds something of interest, though, and one time he bought a bunch of little crystals and made you a bracelet out of them. “they remind me of you” or something of the sort.

actually, on that note, while he would rather not be known for it, nagisa is pretty good at making little jewelry items like that. you and hiyori are the only ones that get to own them, but he's made some for other people too, just refuses to gift them. sometimes, if you somehow manage to catch him when he's making them, you two do it together. in the end, there's probably ten bracelets on each of your arms.

☆ — iBARA SAEGUSA !!

ibara "i don't have time for games" saegusa.

well, until you start getting annoying, that is. ibara never lashes out at you, but it's very clear when he reaches a limit with being asked to "hang out". getting him to abandon whatever he's doing is difficult, but he's more likely to agree if he's already having a bad day. for you, it's easy to tell, because he starts groaning a lot and is significantly slower whenever doing anything. it's almost as if he's half asleep..

you usually take him out to a café or maybe even a diner whenever you notice he's stressing out. it's not so much playing around, but his snarky personality immediately returns when he's finally relaxed. he enjoys picking on you and, don't tell anyone, but he often ruffles up your hair and pinches your cheek if he thinks your reactions to his teasing are 'cute'. again, you can't tell anyone, remember?

the only way to get ibara involved in games that involve him moving around a lot is if you steal his glasses. yes, he knows you'll just give them back if he doesn't engage, but it seems as though every time you do it, his first instinct is to get up and start chasing you. it's difficult to see, you know? just give them back!

as a hyperactive guy, he's always finding new ways to entertain himself with “only the things nature has provided him”.. and you find out what that means when you two end up going to a forest and he catches a fish with his bare hands, before releasing it into the water after showing off his catch to you. “pretty cool, right?”

he's the type of person who would run around, jump on rocks and climb on trees, so make sure to keep up! oh well, but if you can't, he'll always stop to help you. mitsuru loves helping you, and especially loves the feeling of being the older brother! he wants to protect you and take care of you, so make sure you tell him whenever you're in need of anything.

if you really insist on doing something inside rather than outside, then you'll probably either be making a mess out of the kitchen or playing sports indoors. you can't get mitsuru to sit down for a second, so stuff like puzzles are completely off the table. but at least you always have fun baking with him! although everything ends up a mess, at least you can forget your worries for a little while.

if you're really lucky you might be able to play video games or board games with him. it's super rare for him to finish the game with you, but he's actually pretty good when he gets invested in it. the problem? he often finds it boring if there's very little happening, so you have to keep his attention on the game the whole time.

Helloooo, happy new year to you too! Sorry about the delay in responding!! But yes, here's a short Kinjou scene. I know it's short but! I think this scene is key to start understanding what's behind Kaede. After all, this movie keeps repeating the question "What do you swim for?" and getting to know what motivates a "new character" as Kinjou is hard to get, so this helps a lot. Besides, it makes us notice that the effect produced by Albert is not something that is affecting only Haru.

About what I think about him, well, when I first saw him I thought he would be an irrelevant character who would appear for a short conflict of a single episode. Then we discovered his "villain" touch which I did not like much. However, my perception of him has changed after the movie since he's seen to be a much deeper character. His relationship with Hiyori contributes a lot too! I like it that way because, between them, there is a different dynamic from the other characters (since most of them gravitate around Haru), I think it would be interesting if their relationship develops further. The movie offers a second chance to get to know him better, especially by people who didn't like him at first sight.

i am still sticking with my original thought which is that i can see this ending this year or beginning of next (between january-april). i don’t see it lasting all of next year. i know many people think that because she is doing so much, it means that it’s going to last longer but to me, it seems like we’re on the road to it ending. like i’ve said many times before, she knows that when the stunt ends, she’ll have the “Harry Styles Ex-Girlfriend” title, so with her being at multiple shows, interacting with the fans, connecting herself to him, etc, it isn’t because it’s lasting longer than planned, it’s because she needs to milk the last bit of attention. she has the harries on her side, they love her. when the stunt ends, yes the fans will move onto the next person that he dates, but they’ll still support and see olivia as harry’s “best girlfriend,” since she has done the most for attention. so i can see it ending this year or beginning of next. if this continues until next year, just know that olivia is directing her new movie, and harry will most likely tour the UK/Europe dates, so that could be their excuse: busy schedules. but again, we could get the BUA at any second. olivia could be at his show one night and the next day, the BUA drops.

obviously, this is just my own personal thought. others may think differently and that’s okay. i know she is doing a lot for attention, but that’s exactly what she wants, so i wouldn’t worry too much about her.

Hiii Maya 🌸 I'm back from the Ed and I promised to let you know how it was :) and it was wonderful!!! It was my third time & it's always so so good! I was so happy he also included older songs but played lots of new ones as well 😊 he said he's still playing around with the set list a bit cause he noticed the songs which are on the deluxe version are quite popular so he tries to include them more haha and he also talked about how Germany is the hardest music market to win over & (part 1)

how happy he is that he did that 😌 and I LOVED the screens and graphic etc. So many cute little details as well! Oh and he sang Nancy Mulligan and Galway Girl - I was so happy haha these seem to be fan favourites, as well as Dive, Shape of you (of Divide)! He was smiling the whole time and seemed so happy 💓 oh and I’ve to say that german can be a quite difficult audience to win over but he had 0 problems! It was super loud and people just LOVED it!
