hiii there and happy new year! do you have more scenes of kinjou? it's okay if you dont have any, i'd like to know what you think about him. he's a character that im looking forward to very much.. thank you so much for posting some clips of the final stroke for us!! >_<
Helloooo, happy new year to you too! Sorry about the delay in responding!! But yes, here's a short Kinjou scene. I know it's short but! I think this scene is key to start understanding what's behind Kaede. After all, this movie keeps repeating the question "What do you swim for?" and getting to know what motivates a "new character" as Kinjou is hard to get, so this helps a lot. Besides, it makes us notice that the effect produced by Albert is not something that is affecting only Haru.
About what I think about him, well, when I first saw him I thought he would be an irrelevant character who would appear for a short conflict of a single episode. Then we discovered his "villain" touch which I did not like much. However, my perception of him has changed after the movie since he's seen to be a much deeper character. His relationship with Hiyori contributes a lot too! I like it that way because, between them, there is a different dynamic from the other characters (since most of them gravitate around Haru), I think it would be interesting if their relationship develops further. The movie offers a second chance to get to know him better, especially by people who didn't like him at first sight.

Oooh some amasai cheer up tickles!!! Whoever is being cheered up is your choice!! Just soft wind down tickles to cheer someone up
HA! I bet you would guess Shuichi to be the lee since he’s always down on himself and needs cheering up, but no. It’s Rantaro this time, Shuichi cheering up the bby boi who can’t remember his talent! I know that’s not like Shuichi before Rantaro died, so we’ll just say that this is an AU where Rantaro DOESN’T die. We’ll say that there really was no time limit motive and the rest of the deaths proceed as normal! The first death in this AU would be Ryoma in this case, which would mean that by now both Kirumi and Ryoma are dead. So Shuichi has changed by now and Kaede is a alive! Hope you enjoy~
*softly humming “Peel the Avocado” while writing this fic*
Cheering Up the Ultimate ???
Rantaro sighed as he woke up that morning, still not remembering his talent. He got out of bed to head to breakfast, when he heard the sound of a doorbell ringing. It appeared to be coming from right outside his room, so he decided to open the door.
Once he opened, it appeared to be Shuichi at the door, “Ah, Shuichi! What is it? Shouldn’t you be heading towards the dining hall?” The avocado was confused to say the least. Why had the ultimate detective come to his room? Shuichi invited himself in, which confused Rantaro even more.
Rantaro obliged, however, stepping aside to make sure he didn’t get in the detective’s way. The former closed the door, “What’s the problem?” They had just received a flashback light and used it last night after the trial. Maybe he had wanted to talk about what Rantaro had remembered?
That seemed to be the case after Shuichi had finally said something, “Have you remembered your ultimate talent? I know we all got the same flashback, I just wanted to see if you had remembered yet...”
The green-haired boy sighed with a fake smile, “Not yet, unfortunately....but I’m working on it!” His voice faltered, which was when Shuichi knew that Rantaro wasn’t very happy. The blueberry looked up at the avocado with concern in his eyes, “Is...something wrong?”
The boy with no talent widened his eyes in surprise. I mean, Shuichi IS the ultimate detective, so he should’ve expected him to see through his false happiness. Rantaro sighed, “Just a little disappointed that I haven’t found anything yet...but I’m fine, no need to-”
Shuichi suddenly cut him off with his next sentence, “Don’t say that there’s no need to worry about you! Because it’s not gonna make me stop worrying about you! So...is there anything I can do to help take your mind off it?”
The green-haired boy was surprised to say the least, he honestly wondered when Shuichi had become so confident. But no matter, he didn’t want to burden the detective with his problems, so he once again tried to make him drop it, “Nah...it’s fine...I can deal with it on my ow-”
He once again...got cut off...by none other than Shuichi Saihara himself, “Hey, don’t say you don’t need any help...because I know you do...so..talk to me,” the detective placed his hand on Rantaro’s upper back, causing the latter to stiffen and make a choking noise, trying stifle whatever reaction he would make.
Shuichi raised an eyebrow as he pulled his hand back, “Are you okay? What was that?” The green-haired boy laughed, nervously, “O-oh nothing, I just got hurt there!” He said this sentence a little too quickly for the blueberry’s liking. He narrowed his eyes as he came up with a plan.
“Oh really? Can I check to make sure it’s not serious? It would really ease my nerves.” The avocado nervously chuckled a bit, “A-ah- s-sure I guess, I don’t mind...” The blue-haired boy took this as his cue to take a look at his ‘injury’.
He ran his fingers over the skin peeking out from Rantaro’s shirt, causing the latter to shake and hold back giggles. The blue boy smirked, feeling a little playful, “I see...it’s very serious...we’re gonna have to take care of this ‘injury’ of yours...”
The green boy was a little nervous, “H-how so? I- I don’t really think it’s that ser- WAHAHAIT NOHOHOHO!” He broke into loud giggles as Shuichi started rapidly scribbling his fingers over Rantaro’s upper back.
Shuichi smiled and continued up to Rantaro’s shoulders, “You can’t hide secrets from me...you should know that, Amami-Kun~” The green-haired boy squealed as he hit a particularly sensitive spot right on his shoulder blades, “EEEHEHEK! SH-SHUICHIHIHIHI! STAHAHAHAP! IHIHIHIT TIHIHICKLES TOHOHOO MUHUHUCH!”
The blue-haired boy giggled a bit, “Oh, is this a bad spot?~ I mean I guess I cooouuuld stop...but only if you’re fully cheered up...so are you cheered up now?” Rantaro frantically nodded his head, tears threatening to streak down his face, “YES! YEHEHES! PLEHEHEHEASE IT’S SOHOHO BAHAHAD!”
Shuichi took that as a sign to stop. He sat back down right next to Rantaro, watching the avacado take deep breaths to calm down. Shuichi felt a little guilty, “W-was that t-too much?”The green haired boy had finally caught his breath, and offered a bright smile, “No not at all! It helped a lot actually! Thanks Shuichi!”
Shuichi was caught off guard at him thanking him, but he was even more shocked when Rantaro tackled him back to the bed and pinned him down. The green boy smirked, “But now it’s my turn, you don’t mind if I get my revenge, do you Shuichi?”
He didn’t know why...but somehow, hearing that sentence made him excited and giddy. It made him feel warm inside, thinking about Rantaro tickling him, but he didn’t know why. He smirked up at his friend, “Bring it on!”
Let’s just say that Shuichi had the tickling of a lifetime. And they grew closer that day, a lot closer. Close enough to be considered a couple, but who would take control and confess their feelings first? No one knows.

What do you like about Danganronpa Zero? I like it too, just curious about your answer.
Matsuda. And Ryouko.
In all seriousness I do really like the structure of it and how it’s something that makes a lot more sense and it’s super enriching on a second read a la Madoka. The dual protagonists are fascinating in how they’re written as characters.
Like Ryouko is super ditzy and fixated on Matsuda. And unlike other examples in dgrp where this is super urgh-inducing to have a girl’s character revolve around Dude (y’know ur Nanamiiz, ur Chisas, ur Makiiz), Ryouko’s interesting in how much of a Tragedy her situation actually is. Like yeah, that’s comparable to Peko, but y’know Ryouko really has no power in her situation and her dependence on Matsuda is super fucked up. The scene where she begs Matsuda to let her just forget about him after he gaslights her, which she completely forgets about and brushes off when Matsuda himself is clearly disturbed enough by it to try and apologize is such a striking moment honestly. Like Ryouko’s a really tragic character whose mental condition ISN’T used as something to find scary as it is an aspect she has to work with that people, including those she loves, are keen to take advantage of. She’s the only mentally ill character in dgrp that like...isn’t actually villainous in any way, and the reveal adds a hilarious but also incredibly cruel twist of irony to this.
Matsuda, on the other hand...well for starters, he’s the only intelligent one. But his personality is completely different. He’s not remotely normal or average, but even with Kaede as a comparison, he’s openly cruel and dubious in his actions. Even when you understand his motivations, he’s very complicated. He’s not a heroic character, even from Ryouko’s perspective because we see he’s willing to do some really fucked up shit (both to her and for her). He’s a codependent wreck, which is more in line with dr protags after Naegi, but he doesn’t rely on the other person emotionally because he’s insecure...but more because he needs that person as an excuse to keep going. It’s not just different for the mold, it’s incredibly messy. It’s even more sad because we see that Matsuda *is* capable of getting along with others. When he interacts with Murasame, he clearly wants to help and reassure him, but then... But then...
What a fascinating and fucked up guy! I love him a lot!
As for the other characters, I do like the purposes they serve even if I don’t like them as people. Kamishiro is perverted comic relief but he’s like, actually fucking unhinged due to a severe complex courtesy of his “talent” which makes him a super interesting presence. Madarai...is hilarious. Dr0 does have Kodaka’s shitty sense of humor, but honestly I do like some of the jokes and the ridiculousness of it here since they’re not concentrated to one character nor are there any mascots. Pretty much everyone’s meant to be taken seriously to an extent, but they’re still allowed to go batshit and have fun going batshit.
And again, the characterization that only becomes clear when you know the twist is really good. I especially like Ryouko’s reaction to Naegi which is amazing when you know the truth about her. Unfortunately Mukuro’s characterization is garbage, but y’know, no work is perfect. At least we still have IF. Which Kodaka didn’t write pffffft.
For what it is, dr0 really does do things differently and excitingly. Kodaka may be fucking garbage at writing anime, but he’s got a lot of potential as a light novel writer...light novelist? Idk. The guy definitely has talent despite his stupid shit, and dr0 has some of the most interesting characters in the franchise. Hell, Matsuda might just be his best written character ever. It’s very good! The mystery is fun even when you’re just piecing it together on a second reading, and the characters are so fantastic! Junko flings a bunch of desks off a building at Kirigiri! What’s not to love?
...besides Mukuro’s writing, puh puh.
I would DIE for Matsuda Yasuke. But make no mistake, Ryouko is my precious bby girl too. She deserves so much more focus in fanwork than she gets. Gah. I have a first person wip focused on her that I really need to finish. I’m part of the problem.
