The new dating feature... What to expect?

(Apart from disapointment, of course)

Disclaimer: I only bought this because I had a lot of Google Play points, so I could shave a looooooooooot of the total price, but my condolences to anyone who doesn't live in the US because it's a lot more expensive in another regions... Including mine, of course

Disclaimer 2: I'm not telling you what to do with your money, this Is my personal opinion. If you are planning in buying this, do whatever idc, but since a lot of people are having doubts, I felt that I might as well tell everyone what Is this about.

So yeah... Since they announced the new feature, I knew It either would cost real money, It just sounded too good to be true, but I didn't expect to cost $29.99? Almost $37 in my country currency, a total scam, really.

But to be fair to them, this Is a bundle that comes with 300 DP, and considering the price of 280 DP, it's almost like you get the ticket for "free", right?? At least that's how Solmare probably thought It would look like, but the reality Is that the common player will see this bundle and just think that this ticket cost 30 fucking dollars (just look at the comments of Twitter and the tag Right now). In my opinion, just separate the DP and the ticket, and have the bundle as an special offert If you want. Remember that selling stuff Is also about framing... Most players that were planning on buying this might not be planning on buying the DP (like myself, I don't buy DP unless it's on special offerts) so the only thing people like that will think Is that "why this ticket costs that much?"

But what you get in the actual event, you might ask? The trailer was vague as hell in my opinion, and that's an instant red flag in my radar, especially for that spicy art that came with it

For a ticket date you get:

A 1min call

A 10min storyline (not fully voiced, apart from certain lines in the las part of the storyline)

A Majolish background with the date art

The event starts with you calling you boy of preference (in this case, I choose Mammon) to invite him to a date, the call ends and you get a 10min storyline. The premise of the Mammon's date Is that MC has won tickets to Phantom Park, and then Mammon & MC get involved to a game of tag to win a price. Then couple shennigans happen, blah blah blah.

The Story Is... Not bad? I found It rather cute actually, it's romantic and at least they make It explicit that Mammon & MC aré actually dating, but again, this could very well have been in a Devilgram, it's not worth the 30 dollars Solmare expects you to pay tbh. Just tip your favorite fanfic author and call It a day

The last segment Is the one they show in the tráiler, with Mammon getting out of the shower

In this scene, some lines are voiced, and tbh, If the actual story was like this, It almost miiiight be worth It (not the full price, but at least something). But as now? Save your money people, I wouldn't really recommend It.

The only way I would recommend buying It it's If you're already planning on buying the 280 DP offert, or you have a lot of coupons/GPP so you don't pay full price lol, but If you like Lucifer (or Asmo) just do yourself a favor and buy the ASMR. At least, that's what I think

Ok, so there's this entire economy that's built on returned/overstock goods that were on shelves in America eventually ending up in Mexico right?

Random companies like Target or whatever pay X dollars to put some crap on their shelves until it's clear it's just not selling, so instead of eating the loss they sell it at basically 0 profit to some asshole with a truck and the ability to tolerate the god awful amount of paperwork moving goods across that border entail.

Ok and then that some asshole gets to the border and they go through everything they've got and decide what's worth Actually paying the import taxes on and what's basically just land filler. And they take their trash pile and they go to the trash store in whichever border town their in, and say "hey you want this crap?" and the trash store owner says "Nope! but I know some poor schmucks who'll buy it because they can't afford anything better." And they put the trash on the shelves.

These are all the returns, the opened boxes and damaged but Technically probably still functional, things it was just too expensive to try to import into Mexico bc they were worth less then it would cost in fees to get them on shelves there.

Ok, and as a child of one of these towns, you go in to these stores and you buy a basically new Video Game™ for like 2 dollars. And it's crap. Its not shovelware for a show you think you've never heard of or anything but it was still something made to put Product™ on Shelf™ and it'll be lost media in a few years because every single copy ended up in un marked cardboard boxes in towns like yours.

but it's what you had the money for and so it's what you think all games are like until you move somewhere with an actual game store and find out that wait no, theres games that don't crash constantly and have more depth than a dry river. You see the same crap games that were all over your town but no one buys them because they have better options. which is how they end up on the trash store shelves eventually.

And then a decade or some odd later you have to deal with people who've always had access to the good stuff and the word of mouth knowledge or TV commercials or magazines to tell them What was good before they bought it claiming the crap they bought and returned or never gave time in the first place just didn't exist and that shovelware is an artifact of modern game dev instead of something that was always there since the beginning.

Why you should care for Season 5.

When Tot announced that Season 5 would be Wakfu's true finale, I saw some fans expressing that a fifth season was unnecessary and that it seemed like a way to profit more from the series.

While it may be true from a financial perspective and given that it was previously stated that the fourth season was intended to be the conclusion, it’s always possible for Tot to change his mind if he receives support and attention from new partners and regional funding. He did mention at one point that he initially wanted Wakfu to be a trilogy, and yet he eventually made a fourth season.

Some people might overlook the fact that a fifth season could resolve several lingering storylines. The World of Twelve is expansive and filled with numerous conflicts and mysteries among its characters. A fifth season with 26 episodes could be just what we need to address these unresolved issues. Additionally, it's been quite a while since we had a season with 26 episodes. The last time we experienced this was in 2011 when season 2 concluded.

And speaking of unfinished business, it seems like based on the teaser we have received today by the Ankama team, Count Harebourg will be our antagonist of the season! For those who haven't watched it yet, here's a link to it that brings you on Ankama's official insta 👇

Based on the teaser, several hints suggest that Harebourg will be the antagonist of the new season. The fact that he is in Waven assigning missions, along with the wording from the teaser video that indicate his return, both clues point towards this conclusion. Additionally, the ice-themed visuals of the teaser and the mention of Harebourg’s name in the eleventh chapter of the Great Wave further support this idea. So it is completely safe to say that Harebourg will be our antagonist for the finale and will pose a far greater threat than he did in the first episode of the OVAs released in 2014.

The fifth season will likely explain how Harebourg survived Oropo's bomb and how he came back to the World of Twelve. We will also most likely get to learn how Frigost's situation has been growing worse without him and how he will react to it once he'll reunite with his people.

And most importantly, we may get to see the Eliacube again. This artifact had completely been forgotten by the Brotherhood despite how it had played a significant role in their lives (but especially to Yugo and Adamai). I say this because when we take a look at the Season 5 kickstarter's information, we can see that the cover for the kickstarter has the Eliacube featured on it.

Adamai had only been capable of retrieving the six dofus eliatropes in Season 4 because he was capable of sensing their energies. He wasn't, however, able to get the Eliacube because it doesn't come from eliatrope origins. Because we're now seeing the Eliacube make a sudden comeback, it's very possible that Harebourg may have been the one to have found it first before anyone else. This would explain why the Eliacube is even presented so clearly to begin with.

You can even find some more clues in the kickstarter cover that suggest Harebourg will be involved. For example, there's a feather that could reference the time Echo gave everyone feathers to bring them into the Inglorium, except for Harebourg. Additionally, the cover features a destroyed piece of architecture that Oropo used to create a portal to reach the realm of the gods.

Also fun fact: at the time, I didn't believe that Harebourg could have died, so I came up with a theory about how he might have escaped unnoticed (and then only recently wrote it all down). Now that he’s actually returning, I find myself believing my theory even more! If you're interested, you can check it out right here.

So here you go! If you're unsure whether Season 5 is worth it, then I hope that my reasons will make you consider seeing it.

Please keep in mind that it's perfectly okay to feel that the fifth season may not be as enjoyable as the others. If you've already made up your mind about this final season, then at least you know what to expect! However, for those who are still uncertain, I hope my reasons encourage you to keep an open mind and consider giving the season a chance.
