Saw Madonna, Journey, Def Leppard, Metallica, and Stevie Wonder in concert. I visited my aunt in New York and visited Graceland during Elvis Week. Saw two tribute bands...and I made a new friend, and I'm currently visiting my dad in Africa. 😊 It wasn't all bad, but the year was filled with a lot more trash than anything useful. Sure as hell learned a lot about how the United States is built to never help its own citizens properly or ever. 😒

hey honest question, did anybody have GOOD stuff happen to them in 2024? cause it was really bad for me and for most people i know, so it would be nice to hear about anything that's been going WELL for any of you. even if it's small stuff. just to know there's light out there.

Part of Alhaitham's daily routine is to kiss you goodbye when he leaves for worn. Doesn't matter if you're awake or not. He kisses your forehead (or cheek if you've rolled onto your side). Unfortunately, this also means that those few times where you're up first, his day feels slightly to the left. Just a little. Which is why he's absolutely elated when you notice and make sure to kiss him goodbye when you leave first.

Rewind Gift

I'm going to pretend it's still Christmas, and since unfortunately I do not have my chapters up and ready to go, like I did last year, in honor of Merlin's finale and as my Christmas present to you, I have one (1) paragraph from the next chapter of Rewind that I would like to share with you :D

[Arthur] wondered if that was how Merlin had always seen magic, as something to be explored and discovered rather than as a weapon to be used. He remembered Merlin showing him the dragon in the flames, when he first had to prove to Arthur he had magic. Arthur remembered the fear in his heart that day, the horror and dread in realizing that his dearest friend had been corrupted, had betrayed him, only to find out that it was Arthur who had been wrong. It still didn’t sit right with him, those few days before he had died. They turned over and over in his mind, a constant reminder of what he had to get right, of what would happen if it went wrong. 

And, also, because I really love you guys, here is the first paragraph of a 5+1 that I've been working on, which may or may not be dubbed as the "Mysterious Chapter Twenty-One" which deals with Arthur meeting/interacting with other servants in the Castle. :)

Arthur remembers the first time he met Gerty. Not in the past life, not in this life, but when he was a boy. He’d been taking food from the kitchen for as long as he could remember, always scared of the woman who could wield her ladle as swiftly and ferociously as he had seen the knights of his youth wield the sword. But while he had knowingly turned a blind eye to his Knights’ antics concerning the kitchen, especially when caught, Arthur himself had only been grabbed once.

Not sure when the actual chapters will be out (for the story at least; the 5+1 is still a bit off as well, although it may get posted during my "off season"), but I've got about three thousand solid words down and about another two thousand words of assorted scenes floating around, so I feel on track for getting it done before the end of the year. I hope this was a suitable gift, however, and Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!!

rdr2 is such a special game to replay because. god. the whole thing is a ghost story. the gang is dead before they even reach colter. everything that tears them apart - the mistrust, the friction, the loss, the lack of place and time - it's there from the beginning. before the beginning. papered over by a veneer of love and care and family but when the last of it leaves they're all just. gone. scraps of newspaper headlines faded in the sun and wooden grave markers that will rot and fall back into the earth. if you've played rdr you know what happens to these characters. you play your first playthrough of rdr2 knowing you're hurtling towards an inescapable end. you play every one thereafter knowing the end has already come.

is the fact that Dial has the 'least' face of all your characters intentional or just. just me reading too much into it

correct! Dial has the most unreadable 'face' of all the TPoH cast (there are other aspects of his character design that are about that too). RGB has an object head but it has clear expressions and is able to emote, and Click has a face which is actually an object and can't see, speak, or change its expression. Dial has the 'truest' object of all in that it can neither emote nor does it have any real interpretable human features.
