Daminette December 2023: 10-Defeated
Damian sat at his desk and briefly scanned the files of the new departments he was overlooking. One of them was the art department, which he was greatful for. The only thing that bothered him was the fashion department. He didn't agree that it was art. It was business. Clothing was a necessity, not a luxury. Clothes could be sold in stores. Art was meant to be displayed and shared. The Wayne heir scanned the file again.
'Head of fashion department was listed as Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I'm sure I can get rid of her and move the department. Nothing will get in Damian Al Ghul-Wayne's way.'
The Wayne heir approached the fashion department. He saw the office door open and observed the inside. There was a small woman with blue hair drawing on a tablet. He could see a gown forming under the movement of her stylus. Damian stood tall as he knocked on the open office door, but she never turned around.
'Brat.'
"Miss Dupain-Cheng!" he shouted.
To his surprise, the designer slammed her hand down on her desk and glared at him.
"You made me mess up." she snarled, "Who the fuck so you think you are to come in here and bother me?"
This wasn't the type of meeting he had been expecting at all.
"Damian Wayne." he answered, not use to people glaring at him, "I wanted to inform you that I will personally be keeping an eye on the department and see if it's truly necessary."
"Fine." Marinette snapped, "There's the door. I'm busy; you can show yourself out."
Marinette turned back to her tablet and began ignoring him, again. Damian couldn't believe that she didn't get scared by his name. She talked back to him! Damian walked out and slammed the office door.
'What a horrible person. I'm not just gonna get rid of her; I'm gonna fire her entire department! I'll just exploit her weaknesses and show that she's incompitent at her job.'
Marinette had noticed that Damian taking to lurking around her department. He had inserted himself into meetings and questioned everything: Is what you're buying necessary? How could it help Wayne Enterprise? Why did you choose this fabric? Why this shade? Why not vermouth?
It had been six months and she was ready to punch him. Mari had heard rumors that he was starting to neglect other departments he was covering. She couldn't understand his fascination and distaste for hers. After another grueling meeting, everything came to a head.
"Miss Dupain-Cheng, I highly suggest rereading the code of conduct." Damian stated, in front of the entire department.
Marinette could feel everyone's eyes on her, "And what have I done now, Mr. Wayne? I don't believe 'bow down' is a rule."
"Your behavior and attire are innapropriate in the work place." Damian commented, irked that she still went against his authority.
"Excuse me?" Mari shouted, "I am completely professional!"
Damian snorted, "You regularly seduce your staff."
"I wish." someone whispered, loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Mr. Wayne," Marinette spoke, "please, tell me how my business attire is innapropriate so that I may correct it."
Marinette knew she had him this time. She still made all her own clothing and inspected them the day before for any rip or loose seams. She wore button up blouses with short sleeves and a blazer. She made sure to wear pants as she didn't want to kneel in a skirt. Was this about her heels? Sure she didn't wear four inches like everyone else; she preferred something that was easy to move in. Especially if something had gone wrong and she needed to hurry to the other sde of Wayne Enterprise.
Damian's eyes roamed over Marinette. Her clothes were the same as they had been for the last six months, they hugged her curves. When she took off her blazer, he could see how her neck curved, especially when her hair was puled up in a messy bun or ponytail. He had seen her hair that way, too many times, when she was busy designing. Not to mention how her pants accentuated her when she yelled at an employee for ordering the wrong fabric. Those stupid tops that she crossed her arms under her chest when someone contradicted her.
"Well, Mr. Wayne." Marinette called out, "I'm waiting. Tell me which part of my outfit is the problem, right now. I'm buttoned up and tucked in. My pants go all the way down to my ankles or are my ankles distracting someone? I certainly can't be distracting someone with a foot fetish, as I don't wear anything open-toed. There are many more employees, here at Wayne Enterprise, that dress provocative."
"Are you sure?" the Wayne heir questioned.
"I can name five ladies on this floor alone!" Marinette growled, "Two are wearing corsets with a blazer. Another is in a mini skirt and if she sits, you can see the garter straps. Another is wearing the same outfit as yesterday and reeks of cigarettes, sweat, nd bad cologne. The last one is wearing last seasons Belmere cocktail dress with tulle bishop sleeves! Thy are sewing a collection and if that sleeve gets caught, we have to destroy that fabric and her sleeves will be ripped off. I am not losing product because someone decided to be stupid this morning, Carol!"
Marinette glared at Damian Wayne, "So, tell me how innapropriate I am or you can fuck off!"
"The clothes you wear demean you and suggest you are welcoming others to join you for a night." Damian stated.
Marinette felt all the rage bubble over and she punched him in the face, sending him across the floor.
"I quit!" she snarled.
Damian looked on as Marinette walked away.
'I won.'
What he didn't expect were the not so hushed whispers of the fashion department.
"I think Mr. Wayne had a crush on her."
"I wish she would seduce me."
"You and me both."
"Apparently, she was very popular in Paris with both genders."
"Wait, what?"
"Really?"
"I heard she dated Jagged Stone's only son."
"Wasn't Adrien Agreste trying to date her?"
"So was Zoe Lee."
"The actress!"
"Mmhmm and she's the second daughter of Style Queen."
"Damn! Why is she here then?"
"She could have gone with one of them and likely inherited a fashion label!"
"Marinette always yells at us when we dress innapropriate."
"Carol."
"I pushed my sleeves up, okay!"
"I think she wrote this years dress code herself."
"I wish that I could see what Mr. Wayne saw."
"Why?"
"Are you kidding me? Stuck up Dupain-Cheng as some sexy thing and not yelling a us? Talk about a perfect fantasy!"
Damian sat there blushing as the employees talked amongst themselves.
'Did no one really see what I saw? They hadn't seen the way her clothes accentuated her? They didn't see the way her body called out to others? Was I the only one who wanted to pin her down to gain control?'
Damian stood up, admitting defeat. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the person who irked him for months, hadn't been at war with him or seducing him; he liked her. He couldn't tell until the evidence was stacked against him. As the other employees said, she didn't even need to be there. She could marry into money, likely immediately, and run a corporation against them.
'She's not going to get away from me that easily.'
By the time Damian found Marinette, Tim was already on his knees begging her to stay and his father was apologizing about his attitude.
"I can personally guarantee that Damian will be moved departments and you never have to see him again." his own father pleaded.
Tim noticed Damian out of the corner of his eye and stood up.
"You!" Tim shouted, stalking over to his younger brother, "What the hell? Marinette is dressed perfectly fine for her job!"
"Please reconsider, Miss Dupain-Cheng." Bruce spoke.
"I will work from my own home." Mari stated, "I will come to the office only for meetings; everything else will be paper trailed through emails and run by one of you."
"That is perfectly doable." Bruce answered, "We can send any equipment you need and-"
"I have everything already."
Damian looked on confused. He had never known them to suck up this badly, not even to board members.
"You don't even know who she is; do you?" Tim exclaimed.
"An employee by the name of Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Damian answered.
Bruce sighed. Apparently his son had never read her file and background information as to why she was the head of her own department.
"She is Jagged Stone's personal and exclusive designer." Tim snarled, "She designs for many different celebrities world wide. She is known throughout Paris! You can obviously see why we wanted her here."
Damian had no clue that the she was that well known or that his family was that desperate to have her.
"What can we get you to continue to work here?" Bruce questioned, "We can pay you how ever much you want."
"I'll bump your salary to $65,000 a design." Tim offered.
Marinette shook her head, "I only want one thing and I want Damian Wayne to apologize to me."
"80,000 a design!" Tim quickly shouted.
Damian could clearly see his family was horrified. They had zero faith he would apologize or admit his mistake. Damian swallowed his pride and bowed down, as he would to his mother.
"My apologies for making my own personal assumptions." He began, "They were baseless and you truly did nothing wrong. It was my own assumption that you were attempting to seduce me that caused this."
Marinette's cheeks turned red as she listened to his in shock.
"My parents did not conceive me naturally. My mother drugged Father. I was raised and taught by her, from an early age, that women will use any means necessary to seduce who they value as someone of interest; even wear revealing clothes. They will cling to those they desire. They will feign innocence when confronted." Damian continued, "I only observed what I was told, but my family is alos correct. Your clothing is appropriate for the work place. You have never touched me inappropriately. You also have never tried to suede me. You treated me as everyone else in your department and yet-"
Damian was smacked upside the head by Tim. Damian turned to glare at him, but when he looked up, she saw Marinette covering her face with her hands and her ears were bright red.
"Miss Dupain-Cheng?" Damian spoke softly.
Marinette looked between her fingers at him, nervously.
"Miss Duapin-Cheng?" Bruce questioned, cautiously.
"I-I don't understand how-how you can like me." She stammered.
"Well, for one thing, you have a killer right hook." Damian stated.
Out of all the things, he could have answered, that was not one of them. Marinette began laughing and her hands fell away from her blushing face.
The Wayne heir smirked, "I'm also not use to people telling me to 'fuck off'."
Marinette snorted as she thought back to the first day they met. Bruce and Tim nodded as they slowly made their way away from the young adults.
"Everyone back to work." Bruce commanded, "If I see this online, I'll personally make sure whoever posted it, is fired."
The fashion department was quick to get back to work, leaving Damian Wayne to confess to their blushing designer.

Hi! I just discovered your blog and it’s wonderful! Your art is great, and it’s impressive how you’ve improved since the start of this blog!
Long live Zutara nation! 💙❤️ Wish you good luck creating and a lot of feedback, you deserve all the best!!
May I ask about your story of falling in love with Zutara? Did you ship them as soon as while watching ATLA for the first time, or did it take time to realise how awesome they were? Maybe some creators from the fandom were the ones who showed you the beauty of Zutara?
And the second question: what are some of your Zutara head canons? You probably have hundreds of them, so feel free to provide only the favourite ones!
That’s all for now, have a good day! 🫶✨
Hiii, thank you so much! 😊 I've been working hard to improve my drawing skills, and I'm glad to hear that the progress is noticeable✨️
I fell in love with Zutara when I was a kid and watched Avatar for the first time. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I saw the kiss between Aang and Katara in the final episode🥲. I had hoped that she would end up with Zuko until the very end. Of course, I've watched Avatar another 100 times since then, but that's okay. Later, I started seeing Zutara fan art on Pinterest, and I really enjoyed looking at them. About two years ago, I bought a tablet with a stylus just so I could draw on it. Honestly, at first, I was drawing myself and Zuko together, trying to insert myself into the story—whoever says they didn't have a crush on Zuko as a kid is lying! 😂
One day at school, I was drawing some human figures and thought, "Hey, this could be a Zutara fan art." When I finished it, I debated whether or not to post it on Tumblr, which I had installed just to look at Zutara fan art. So, I uploaded my first piece, not expecting even 20 likes, but the Zutara fans really liked it. From then on, I started drawing almost every day at school and posting my works and ideas.🫶
My favorite Zutara headcanons, even though there are hundreds of them, are:
• The Fire Nation Ambassador- if Katara had stayed true to herself, she would have become a powerful politician, serving as an ambassador for both the Fire Nation and the Water Tribe, dedicated to maintaining peace across the world. Naturally, she would have grown closer to Zuko and they would fall in love❤️🔥 .
• The Fire Lady Katara- just imagine if Katara and Zuko had ended up together—I think the show would have ended with Zuko's coronation and him proposing to Katara with a necklace, or maybe even their wedding where Katara is crowned as the Fire Lady🔥.
• Love After the Agni Kai - Imagine the Agni Kai is over, and while Katara is healing Zuko, he confesses the feelings he has long kept hidden inside. He declares his love for her, and she admits that she feels the same. And they are kissing💋.
• Love Without War - Imagine if the Fire Nation never declared war and peace prevailed. Avatar Aang's era has passed, and a new Avatar is born—Katara from the Water Tribe. While traveling the world, the time comes for her to learn firebending, and she is assigned a talented young prince, Zuko, as her teacher. They fall in love, and the rest is history💞. (This is my idea, and it’s for the next drawing that you’ll soon see on my profile)
I'll get back to regular drawing in two weeks as soon as I return from vacation and start my final year of high school. I have a thousand ideas for new pieces, and I hope you all will enjoy them! 💙❤️

I love the way you write Thrawn sooo much! You’re so talented!! I would really love if you did a continuation of the story with the shy, stuttering reader, perhaps with some crushes and romance, if you’re so inclined? That story made me so soft!
Thank you so much, dear ❤️
Part 1
Thrawnxgn!reader
You’re deeply focused on your drawing, moving your stylus on the screen, retouching the defender AGAIN. You bite down your cheek, thinking back at Pryce's reaction, she’s truly mean and rotten to the core, you don’t like her.
Well, to be fair you don’t like politicians in general, but her? It’s a completely new level.
Thanks to Thrawn you avoided complete humiliation but you feel like she will hold the grudge and unleash it on you when she gets the opportunity. You will need to watch behind your back now.
You’re internally fuming.
You sigh, turning your head to turn a button of your tablet and jump out of your skin.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is right behind your back, leaning over your shoulder to watch you work.
Maker, Gr-Grand Admiral!” You shout, putting your hand over your beating heart. “You’re gonna kill so-someone one day!”
“Do not mind me, continue to work. It is a very interesting process.” He tilts his head, vaguely amused by your reaction.
“In fact I-I just finished.” You grumble, trying to calm down your heart. You hand him your tablet to get his opinion “I modified… The heart and mo-motor to lighten it. It-It would solve the pr-problem of admiral Kon-Konstantine.”
He slowly nods, unfolding the different layers of the prototype plans.
“How are you feeling?” He finally asks, raising his burning red eyes from the screen to meet yours.
“I-I think it’s a good so-solution. Th-their gr-gra…” You gulp, squirming on your seat under his intense gaze and focus on your next sentence “Their gravitational centers should be more ba… balanced now.”
Maker damnit, almost!
You internally curse yourself, you’re in your own lab, on your own territory, stop acting so cowardly and control your voice! You’re a chief technician of the Empire! Act like one!
He slowly shakes his head and looks around your empty lab, before going back to you.
“I was talking about what happened earlier, cha’cah.” He speaks softly. “You gained back the upper hand, but I saw you were hurt by Pryce’s words. Do you wish to speak about it?”
Oh… Oh.
“It’s no-nothing. I’m used to i-it.” you lie. “I-it’s like a mon-monday for me.” you try humor.
Judging by his unimpressed look he sees right through your lie and doesn’t find your pique at yourself funny.
“I am serious, cha’cah.”
You lower your head, fidgeting your fingers. What can you say? You’ve lived through mockery all your life and you buried yourself in works to forget. You chose a field where you didn’t need to speak with people, until you became chief technician.
He takes one of your hands and kneels before you, looking up at your lowered gaze, squeezing it gently.
“You know you can tell me anything, right?”
You nod, avoiding his gaze, preferring to remain mute rather than having your voice crash with emotion in front of him again. Maybe a bad habit…
“I want you to know it. Whatever it is, you can tell me. I can bear the weight.” His hand comes to your chin, forcing you to look at him. “Alright, cha’cah?”
You gulp.
“Al-alright.”
He nods, satisfied.
“I know you are upset. Can I do something for you?” He asks gently, rising back on his feet.
“D-don’t you have du-duties to attend to?”
“It can wait until I have comforted you.” He casually responds, like it was normal to throw away his Grand Admiral’s duties for something so trivial as your sentiments.
But you take comfort knowing you precede his duties.
“Ca-can I have a hug?”
He chuckles, circling you with his strong arms, pressing you against his heart.
“Of course, cha’cah. You can have one anytime.” He kisses the top of your head, caressing your back.
You snuggle against him, holding him tight, listening to his steady heartbeat, your ire subsiding in the moment’s softness.

Hello there!
I've been looking through your page for a while and I LOVE your art! Every piece is so stunning and detailed and beautiful and I don't have enough words to explain how I could stare at each piece for hours.
I'm a traditional artist (as far as skill goes I'd say I'm intermediate) looking to get into digital art and could use some help from a professional. I have no idea where to begin but I really wanna be like you someday!!! If you have any tips or anything I'd appreciate it a lot!
Anon T///T
You literally made me like this, and it's not even an exaggeration
I'm honestly so, so grateful for your words and I'm just speechless that you think SO highly of my arts T^T (even tho I couldn't call myself a professional...) And I want to thank you for telling me this and also for your time observing my drawings! I honestly try to put a lot into it, and I'm just so happy to know people take time to explore it, thank you!
As for your question, you know, it's quite ironic because I also started with traditional art.
And the best advice from me to you, first of all, don't be afraid. I honestly spent a lot of time being scared to start digital because I was always feeling "no, I should be better in traditional, so I can start digital". In fact, it's TWO absolutely different fields. No doubt, they have the same basic ground, however, the approaches that define your creativity flow differ, and that's why I want to advise you the next things, and, if I'm being honest, these words I wish I said to my past self, so I hope it'll help you, at least!
1.Your traditional skills are valuable and irreplaceable, that you gained by your hard work, patience and dedication, and it deserves a lot of appreciation - you went so far, anon, and congratulations on that! But... In digital art, these skills now have a new meaning: some of them, like basic understanding of anatomy, lightning, composition and work with colours, are incredibly useful, but everything else should be now renewed. It doesn't mean that your skills don't have any practical use, but it should be now reflected and fit into the new perspective. Starting from the way you hold your stylus to the way you work with volumes in your art, all of it should be now adjusted to digital, however, I'm telling you all of it not to scare, but only to support you, since when you try to adjust to these new rules, there's always some discomfort, you would compare with the way you drew in traditional and eventually, the result won't be the same as it was in traditional and it could discourage you. But it's absolutely not your problem! Any change requires some time to get used to the new circumstances, with moving from traditional art to digital - all the same! So, my first advice is give yourself time to get used to the new environment and the new challenges. With time it'll get better, no doubt about it!
2. Use ALL the possibilities of the digital software. Flip your canvas, use a lot of different layers, layer modes, use Liquify tool, transformation and move around the selected part of the drawing, and don't think it's "cheating". No! It's all of your new instruments and it's all here to help you.
3. Be prepared that your colour palette will be differently visible from different devices - laptop, phone, tablet - all of it will have slightly different colorization/saturation, so when you play with the colours, please remember to check it sometimes on different gadgets. I was a victim of it, too, and some of my arts have a very bad work with colour volumes, which resulted in a colorization mess...
I think that it's one of the most important things to start with, and especially - don't be afraid, anon! You're much more capable than you think you are, and digital drawing is just another step in your creative journey!
I apologise if this advice was not so helpful and maybe you expected something else, but if you want advice on something more precise, please ask me and I'll do my best to help as much as possible and if I'm competent enough.
Thank you once again for your kind words, I honestly appreciate it so, so much!

Drawing (so this is in the same universe as Bedtime story since half of it was written at the same time. Idea from @frostedpuffs)
Adrien scrolled through the Ladyblog on his phone, liking a fanart submission of Chat Noir and Ladybug kissing. Marinette found it strange to see them drawn together like that but Adrien loved it. He just wished they’d add Ryuko too. (Secret identities foiled him again!). He already knew without checking that him liking it with his Chat Noir account would drive fans wild. Last time ‘Chat Noir liked’ trended for several days. He chuckled dryly and continued scrolling.
Marinette shifted behind him, murmuring to herself as she lifted her stylus from the screen.
“Does this look weird?” She asked. Beside her, Kagami looked up from her own drawing to check it. Adrien smiled to himself as his girlfriends discussed something art related he didn’t understand. Today was just one of many drawing sessions Adrien wished he could join but his artistic ability was almost as bad as Marinette’s Chinese (she had been improving as of late with his help though).
“She has two left hands.”
“Oh shit. Thanks.” Adrien felt the furious movement of her correcting it, back pressed against hers. They sat on the floor in Marinette’s bedroom, their usual spot for hanging out. Sometimes he’d follow along to an outdoor art practice but he’d end up being disturbed by a fan and while he did love his fans, sometimes he just wanted to be able to watch his girlfriends unguarded. That said, he returned to scrolling on the Ladyblog, roasting someone for thinking Ladybug was Hawkmoth secretly.
The sound of a thud snapped him from his stupor, glancing down to see a marker fallen behind Kagami. He reached and picked it, intent on giving it back to her but changing his mind half-way through. She hadn’t turned around, so surely she wouldn’t miss it? He pulled the cap off with his teeth and rolled up his sleeve, doodling a chain of vaguely cat-shaped drawings.
(He hoped the marker wasn’t permanent. He had a photoshoot tomorrow.)
He finished on his right arm, creating a sick sleeve of cats in various poses, meowing puns he’d been workshopping. ‘Meow-sers’ one cat said that curled up in the inner part of his elbow. He laughed at his own joke and re-capped the marker, passing it back over to Kagami.
“Thanks.”
She went to take it but instead grabbed his arm, inspecting his sleeve of doodles. Her face was set so it was impossible to tell what she was thinking. Luckily, Marinette noticed too.
“This is so cute! You didn’t say you could draw, Adrien?” Marinette said. Adrien turned around so that his arm wasn’t being held uncomfortably behind his back. He held it back out and allowed Marinette to trace a drawing on his inner forearm. Her touch was electric.
“This is a clear demonstration of effective simplification. That can take artists years.” Kagami said and Adrien felt himself glow. They were just silly cat doodles, the kind he’d draw on the margins of physics work that was far too easy nowadays.
“I’m just doodling. You guys are the real artists.”
“No negative self-talk. This is really good and you should be proud.” Marinette poked his chest with her pointer finger and held his gaze, stern. Adrien blushed, looking down at his lap. They were just being nice, that's all.
“I can only draw cats. I want to be able to draw like you guys so I’m not always scrolling when you draw.”
“Then I’ll teach you. Tomorrow we’ll go to the gardens and get some real life inspiration,” Kagami said.
“Ooh, I’ll get Papa to bake us snacks. We can have a picnic,” Marinette added, grinning at Kagami. Kagami nodded, looking to Adrien for agreement.
“That would be nice. But what if I’m bad?”
“That’s the point. You weren’t good at maths immediately but you practised. Art’s the same.” Marinette tapped something in on her tablet and then passed it into his lap. It displayed a strange and boxy looking drawing of a person.
“What’s this?”
“My art from a couple years ago. Can you tell it's meant to be you?”
Adrien stared at it a moment then shook his head. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings but it looked more like a block-craft character than a human being. “Kind of.”
Marinette laughed and took the tablet back, gazing down at the drawing with a reserved sort of fondness. Kagami leaned in, her nose wrinkling.
“This is terrible. How is his body bending like that?”
Adrien waited for Marinette to clam up but instead she laughed harder. “I never noticed that. Where are his ribs?”
Their giggles petered off, the occasional hiccup of laughter passing Kagami’s lips. Marinette packed away her drawing tablet and crossed her legs, her head falling to rest on her palms. Her expression was painstakingly soft, plush pink lips spreading smoothly into a loving smile and her eyes crinkling watching Kagami.
“What are you looking at?” Adrien teased, startling Marinette who flushed an adorable shade of pink to match her lips.
“Nothing- I mean I was just thinking about kissing- NO! Um.” Her eyes grew wide while her pupils narrowed and she stared at the ground. “I was having perfectly normal thoughts.”
“Right.” He grinned and stood, grabbing his bag from the corner. “See you tomorrow then.”
.___.
A picnic had already been laid out when he arrived, pastries and lemonades packed into a basket by Marinette. She leant over a second box filled with paints and charcoal, rifling through it with an awed expression. Her hair fell over her shoulder under a giant summer hat, a pink ribbon tying it back.
Near her, Kagami fought with a portable easel, the other already set up against an oak tree. The tree covered the picnic ground, light fracturing through its leaves. A paint-stained apron covered her dress as she wrestled to unfold one of its legs.
She turned at the sound of him, waving him over and handing the easel to him. Adrien unfolded the leg and set it beside the other easel.
“What are we drawing?” He asked, taking the paper handed to him. He tucked it under his arm, following Kagami up the gentle slope to the tree.
“First off, what are you wearing?” Kagami interjected, looking him up and down.
“My disguise. So I’m not recognised.” He lifted up the sunglasses to demonstrate. Kagami rolled her eyes and snatched the glasses off his nose. He flinched back, frowning at her. “Hey!”
“You need to be able to see to draw. You can keep the ridiculous scarf.” Kagami ran her hand under his scarf (which wasn’t ridiculous), turning on her heel and walking away with his sunglasses. Adrien stuck out his bottom lip, in the hopes she’d pity him enough to hand them back. Unfortunately he’d forgotten Kagami didn’t pity anyone.
Marinette looked up from her rifling, smiling at him briefly and then offering him a seat beside her. Adrien jogged the little ways down to her and sat, accepting the cool lemonade handed to him. She’d already opened it and slotted a blue striped paper straw in and he sipped the sweet drink while she laid out a variety of art materials.
“Pick what you want. Kagami will be teaching you. I have to catch up on the summer reading.”
Adrien swallowed the last drop and let the taste linger for a moment before he responded. The choices overwhelmed him, pencils in a bundle at the far right, a palate of well-used water colours pushed slightly aside, charcoals resting in a cloth and more unknown materials stretching further. He knew that Marinette liked to use pen and then add colour loosely with thick nibbled markers. It meant her mistakes became a part of the drawing and that thought terrified him. What if he did it wrong?
“What do you recommend?”
Marinette smiled and shook her head, directing him back to the display she’d created. “Kagami said you have to choose. It's a part of the process.”
Adrien glanced back at Kagami, who’d already begun sketching on her easel. Her brow dipped slightly and her tongue stuck out in an endearing way as she applied a stroke of paint with her brush. Drawing took most of her concentration so the facial expressions she’d been schooled to hide peeked through without her realising.
She used coloured pencils first and they offered a level of forgiveness for mistakes but he didn’t like the feel of them in his hands. He reached across and grabbed the marker he’d used yesterday, gripping the familiar weight between his fingers. Marinette hummed gently, sipping at a ginger ale she’d opened while waiting.
“Good choice. Take an eraser and pencil too, Kagami will want you to do some warm ups.”
“What am I drawing?”
“You’ll see, buttercup.” Marinette smiled and leaned across to kiss him, leaving the taste of ginger to burn on his lips. “You’ll be great.”
“Farewell, m’lady.”
Adrien left with his paper under his arm and his supplies clutched in his other, joining Kagami behind the other easel. He attached the paper like she’d done, clipping it in and placing his materials in a small shelf provided. The picnic was visible over the easel, backdropped by the lush gardens that spread out for a mile around them. Marinette sat posed with one leg bent to rest her book on and the other stretched out. She looked simply gorgeous in the sun, like a princess from a fairy tale.
“Warm ups first. I want you to draw whoever passes by,” she said, snapping him out of admiring his girlfriend.
“What?- I can’t draw that fast!”
“Too bad, start.”
Kagami turned to her own easel so Adrien copied her, spotting a man walking his dog across the open green. By the time he’d laid down the first line the man was gone.
“I can’t do this.”
“Mari might be right with your negative talk. Here, let me show you.” Kagami stepped to the side so he could peak in at her drawing. She’d sketched the man and dog all while he’d fumbled to pick up his pencil.
“See that women jogging?”
He nodded and watched as Kagami struck a line down the centre of the page. He’d seen Marinette do this a thousand times, noticing how Kagami drew a little more stiffly but still accomplished something far better than his sham of an attempt.
“You capture the line of movement first. I want you to look for that and if there’s time, get in the rest.”
Adrien returned to his page and took in what she said. The next person who came along, another women running he found the line that best represented her movement and allowed it to guide the rest of his lines. By the time she’d disappeared behind a bush, he had something vaguely human.
He did the same with the next and the next until the page was full and Kagami smiled proudly.
“You learn fast. I think your read to tackle the next exercise.”
They spent the next hour drawing until his hand was numb. Marinette had ran up a couple of time with pastries to keep them going.
“You’re ready. What do you want to draw?” Kagami asked, taking a break from the drawing she’d been working on.
“What are you drawing?”
“Adrien. Stop looking to others for what to do. Art is expression. So draw what is in your heart.” Kagami stared at him with fire in her eyes.
“I don’t know what’s in my heart.”
Kagami sighed, grabbing his shoulders and spinning him around to look down at Marinette again.
“What there grabs your attention?”
Adrien realised she hadn’t pointed him specifically at Marinette and yet that is what he saw. Marinette in a shoulderless summer dress, chewing on her straw as she read a book he knew she didn’t like. Something was missing though. An empty space that gnawed at the base of his stomach.
He peaked at Kagami through the corner of his eye and smiled as he knew what he wanted to draw.
“Can you go sit by Marinette?”
Kagami cocked her head to the side, considering him for a moment and then let go of his shoulders, skipping down to join Marinette. Adrien repositioned himself behind the easel, picking up the pencil and began sketching.
He’d watched the girls long enough to pick up on some things. The sort of shapes they’d lay down first, the way they held the pencil, where they’d gravitate to first when drawing. Marinette drew in lines, boldly setting down her pen and conjuring a figure in minutes, decked out in a fabulous outfit. Kagami focused on faces first, the body a collection of constructions until she was happy with the face. She had perfected expression in the simplest turn of curves.
He applied that thought to his own doodlings. The marker still waited for him but he let the pencil guide him for now, getting down the basic shapes he could see. The swoop of Marinette’s hat, the circle of skirt folding at Kagami’s knees. If he thought about it, they were just made from various shapes and those were easy to draw.
The sketch done, he stepped back and chose the lines he most liked, setting about defining them in marker. The air was filled with the sound of the scratches of marker and the quiet mumblings of the girls on the picnic blanket. There couldn’t be a finer summer day.
“I’m finished,” He said after what seemed like an hour. Both Marinette and Kagami got up excitedly and hurried to see what he drew.
“I’ve drawn two images,” He explained, flipping down the first image. Marinette gasped and Kagami hummed her approval, finger resting to her lip in quiet thought.
“You drew us as Ladybug and Ryuko!” Marinette said, reaching out to touch the first drawing. He’d copied the comic book style of popular ladybug fanart but added in his own personal touches. Both heros wore Chat Noir t-shirts and a large black cat curled up at their feet.
“What’s the other drawing?” Kagami asked.
“I thought it would be a little obvious if I drew Ladybug and Ryuko so I wanted something I could display.” He lifted up the page and revealed an identical drawing, except now in their civilian forms and the black cat replaced with an approximation of himself.
“It’s beautiful Adrien.” Marinette wiped a tear from her eye and laughed at her own reaction.
“I just wanted a drawing of all of us. Since no one knows we’re dating as superheroes we don’t get any fanart of us all.”
Kagami sniffed beside them and they both turned around shocked to see her holding back her tears. “I’ve trained you- so well.”
“Oh, Mi.” Adrien and Marinette hugged her and burst into tears themselves. They sank to the floor, a crying hugging mess.
Hooray. This is cheesy ah. If anyone wants to draw Adrien’s drawing that would be cool *wink wink*. Sorry if it losses its way at the end, I can write cuteness for long or I’ll self-combust

Hi! For the Silm prompts list, would you consider doing 'without wish or purpose', character: Túrin?
Thank you for the prompt! I mulled this one over a long time. Despite the bleakness of the prompt, I felt compelled to give Turin, if not happiness, then at least a little bittersweetness. And I have always loved the way Turin is portrayed as a child in The Children of Hurin.
Turin receives some guidance from Sador. 800 words, rated G. On AO3.
“I cannot do it! I cannot!”
Through blurry eyes, Túrin watched the pieces of the little cart scatter across the stones. He crumpled his hands into fists and struck his thighs. He could not bear it! Nothing worked, nothing! Over and over and over again he had tried to assemble the pieces, and every time something went wrong. The wheel spokes splintered and broke. His clumsy fingers would let fall the little wooden caps, they would roll off the table and bounce across the floor and they’d be gone — gone gone gone. He did not have clever hands like Labadal, he couldn’t do it.
And now everything was strewn across the floor. Truly broken. Labadal had carved those pieces for him. Would he be hurt that Túrin had destroyed them? Túrin crossed his arms over his face to hide his shame.
“Now, son of Húrin,” said Labadal. He did not sound upset. “Would you like to tell me what happened?”
“No,” said Túrin from behind his arms.
“Very well,” said Labadal. Túrin could hear his old friend’s uneven gait shuffling over the stones. He peeped down at the floor. Labadal was sweeping up the pieces.
“Labadal,” Túrin whispered over the swish-swish of the broom. He brought his arms down slowly. “Why—” he drew a sharp breath, pulling his voice back from the edge of anger. “Why can I not do it? It is so simple. You showed me, you showed me how it all fits together, and, and I have the picture you gave me, of how it should look, but it doesn’t! I cannot make it like the picture.”
There was a gathering storm inside Túrin’s chest. He thought he might burst, unless — he broke into a run, straight towards Labadal, and threw his arms around his hips.
Labadal groaned and set a hand on Túrin’s head. Realising he might be hurting his friend, Túrin pulled back.
“Let us not worry about this cart,” said Labadal. “I think another activity would be better for you.”
“But why can I not do that one?” Túrin complained. His eyes stung.
“You can, you can.” Labadal hobbled back to the workbench, coaxing Túrin along with a hand on his back. “But I think I was too hasty in giving you this. You are eager, son of Húrin. Your mind runs quick as a rushing brook, swollen by the storm cloud.”
How did he know there was a storm cloud inside him? Labadal was the wisest person Túrin knew.
“Sometimes it is better to pause,” Labadal explained. “To stay your course, for a little while.” Then he pulled a wax tablet and wooden stylus from a drawer. He helped Túrin up onto a chair and set the tools before him.
“What do I do with it?” Túrin asked.
“Whatever you like,” said Labadal. “Follow the urgings of your hand. Give your thoughts a shape.”
Túrin crinkled his nose. He already knew how to draw shapes! He was six, not a baby. But Labadal was wise, there must be a reason he was giving Túrin this task. “What is the purpose of it?” Túrin asked.
Labadal smiled thoughtfully. “Do not think of what you wish to make of it, or what purpose it might serve.” Túrin frowned and Labadal added, “But if you must imagine a purpose — it is to order the rushing of your thoughts.”
The wax was sticky under Túrin’s finger. He picked up the stylus and scraped a circle around the dent his fingertip had made. The ends of the circle did not meet and he whined. His hands were not steady.
“I’ve ruined it already,” said Túrin.
“Rub it away,” Labadal said, and showed him how to make the lines disappear with the flat end of the stylus. “You see? Now try drawing what you are feeling.”
This time Túrin scraped a jagged line through the wax, all the way from top to bottom. He contemplated it. Yes — that was how he felt.
“Good,” said Labadal, in his quiet and steady voice. Labadal’s voice always soothed the tightness in Túrin’s chest.
Soon, Túrin had covered the tablet in lines and shapes, and erased, and began again. Labadal worked beside him, the only sound the steady scrape of his chisel. Túrin liked the silence in Labadal’s workshop. Hours passed. When a servant came to fetch him for supper, Túrin was surprised it was already evening.
“Labadal,” he said, “may I bring it home to show Mother and Father?”
“Of course,” said Labadal. “Would you like to show it to me also?”
Túrin pushed the tablet closer to Labadal. His old friend furrowed his brows and sighed, and Túrin was not sure why. Maybe Labadal did not understand what it was.
“It is my sister Lalaith, see?” he explained. “She is in a field of flowers.”
“Yes,” said Labadal. “Yes, I see her.”

FIIIIIIIIIIVE QSMPBLR POSITIVITY!!! >:D
I LOVE YOUR ART SO FUCKING MUCH OMG. I love all of it. The digital art blows me away and is some of the best art i've seen for this fandom. From all the hidden details and all the thought you put into each piece is astounding. Across all of your many wonderful styles they're all perfect. I love how you draw Ramon. little guy no more than 2 apples tall taking on the wonders of the world. AND (if I remember correctly) WITH YOUR FINGER. YOU DON'T HAVE A TABLET AND YOUR PUTTING OUT MASTERPIECES THAT NEED TO BE IN MUSEUMS. I wish the qsmp museum pulled art from tumblr cause i know you would have been in there a few times.
and your traditional stuff blows me away too. traditional is a foreign land to me and you THRIVE. From your paintings to your sketches I could stare for days. My absolute favorite is when you put the other shapes over the art, like in that one with the colorful houses and the circles. I would never think to do that and it looks stunning. Same with your most recent stuff with the clouds. I love it so much. I can't wait to see what project you're working on, i know it will be amazing.
~lills
I can't stop grinning lills thank you so so so so so so much :')
The fact that you consider some of my art some of the best you've seen for this fandom makes me want to cry a little - that is such an insane and massive compliment to get . The fact you feel it might have been QSMP-museum worthy too?!
I'm so glad you like my traditional stuff too , even though traditional art doesn't do very well over here it's still wonderful to know there are people who really enjoy seeing it nonetheless .
I am working on a large project at the moment, and while progress is slow it is happening . I will try my absolute best to complete it, even if it's just for you . :)
Also, yes, you do remember correctly... I do not have a drawing tablet or even a stylus, and so every single digital fanart I have ever posted (that you can see on my art tag) has been done using just my index finger as a pen on a free art app on my phone 😅

god i just heard a little about ergojosh and his take on ai and his 111 hours painting and that just got me thinking about like. a small thing. my tiny two cents on this.
stupid rant ahead art and artnerd opinions ahead whatever
i see the reasons why people draw as a spectrum that goes from drawing because they enjoy the act and process and drawing because they enjoy the result, like someone who enjoys drawing because the act of putting the pencil to paper or the stylus to tablet, or the act of molding the clay or whittling a wood piece, the movements of the hand (or whatever you may use) being what they derive joy from, and someone who works on a piece while thinking of the end result constantly, working every detail until they arrive to a result they like. both ends of the spectrum are equal, but there is a point where you can go beyond this: personally i see the end of the former as something like performance art, and the latter as ai art.
performance art, while often prepared for a long time, is all about the now, the instant, seeing it live or only existing through recordings. think Marina Abramovic and her rhythm series (though if you are to look her up, please be careful as her pieces are rather violent and raw in a lot of ways, including self destruction. again please keep this in mind when looking her up). the act is now, and as said previously, gradiose and interpretative, maybe abstract and nonsensical even;
"ai" art can be considered prepared as well, though instead of being through items or mental preparation or places, the preparation comes from scraping and "analysing" billions of images of millions of subjects and most of all, pieces made by other people, but it is solely based on the final result, which often end up conventionally appealing, at least to certain people.
to me they're two extremes because one is all based in the moment and often so stupidly abstract while the other is a constant unending flow of mass appealing pieces, pretty much like anime flavored Kinkade paintings.
and also, of course, because performances are so highly personal and often are made by one person, passionate enough to be seen as ridiculous or asinine for the work they do (see again Marina Abramovic) while ai art is just some person typing in prompts in a program that takes way too much electrical energy for middling results based on billions of stolen manhours, tears, sweat, blood and often desecrating the dead.
the fun thing however is that performance can often be seen as just clowns or attention whores or whatever and just not doing anything remotely artistic when more often that not those guys chose performances after having learned traditional artistic methods and techniques (whether it be self taught or schooled no one fucking cares in the end) meanwhile fucking Wacom and Adobe and whatever huge company techbros simp for promote it while replacing people who could've done an even better results with platforms we are supposed to be active on due to the change in the industries we artists and graphists wish to work in scrape our pieces, which took us "5 hours where we used references so it's just the same"
so now as a guy who decided to say fuck "to not wanting to draw x or y" and just go for the shapes and lines and finding the fun in the challenge of just, drawing anything, whether it be a shitpost or something i genuinely care about and who stopped caring about how much time he puts in his works, i can only look at what ergojosh says about ai art and how skilled he is and what he thinks of hyperrealism and think that those 111 hours were a waste of time that he could've just spent learning actual notions of perspective, composition and anatomy instead of preaching how since he's so "skilled" he can just trace cause he "knows how to make it look right" while not understanding that using perspective grids in procreate is not like knowing how perspective actually works. i'd rather participate in a revamped version of rhythm 0 while sleep deprived and hyper on a liter of red bull than say that ai art is worth anything more than cheap cigarette dub that's been pissed on by an alley cat.
#yapyapyap#fucking rant im sorrryyyy#i just needed to talk about this aaaaa#this probably doesn't even make much sense i just feel really fucking sour and bitter about this

Faulty power supply or faulty tablet?
It has been a trend with my tablet in recent memory, it started to work wonky and freezing sometimes while I worked with it starting on April. Yesterday it had more freezings than normal but I managed to finish the last character profile at least. Today I wanted to draw something nice because I received a surprise in my Tumblr inbox, but the tablet wasn't working at all (would lit up but the stylus didn't work plus the software not detecting it was connected).
I'm going to go on a limb and uninstall the software and reinstall it just in case it's just the software of the tablet being the culprit (nope, no dice) but knowing that the power supply was starting to cough so much, I still believe the juice is giving is not enough for everything on the computer I use. It's a very old MOBO too (from around 2017) not even Windows 11 wants it, but that's fine by us.
The problem is I don't know how to fund these replacements. We are still jobless and I can't work on commissions because of this to scrounge some kromer and get a cheap replacement. Heck if we don't get a job this July, I don't think I gonna make it to this August... I could try and do commissions with the mouse and using 200% stabilization on the brushes but man... This is so awful. Wish I had more cheery news but this is my current situation. Either I get lucky with the external [genorisity] or I'm screwed.
Until then, I'll not be able to keep making graphic content for my AU.
Stay frosty (I know I should always be).

i’m increasingly losing interest in drawing and im not sure if it’s a self worth issue or i’m finally growing out of it or maybe i don’t have enough inspiration/my mind is preoccupied with the fact i’m about to take a huuuge step into the next chapter of my life and i’ll get back to it again eventually but like i’ll be thinking “hmm i kinda feel like drawing ^.^” and so i’ll sit down, open csp, grab my tablet, and pick up my stylus… suddenly i feel bored and creatively bankrupt. i don’t really think i make real art mostly just self indulgent cringe fag garbage but it was still fun at one point and something to do with myself that isnt playing candy crush with youtube in the background waiting to go to bed so it’s definitely frustrating also because i feel like i have enough people that like what i do (even if i don’t) that i could be making money off of it (i need a car and insurance and to be able to cover first month’s rent and to keep paying for hrt) but i just don’t. want. to. do. it. which is sad because i’m really passionate about art as a whole i wish i made more valuable work or at least was better at what ive been doing on a technical level. i was going to say more and had a more solid conclusion but i forgot. end of post

One nice thing about drawing the same character over and over is that it lets you see your progress. I feel like I’ve made a fair amount!
When I drew that first picture in September 2014 I was 32 years old. I’d always wanted to be able to draw, but just never got round to it or knew how to get started. Like a lot of people, fandom is what inspired me and gave me the push I needed. It’s the most amazing feeling to be able to draw now, to be able to get down what’s in my head, to make things I love and am proud of. I know I still have a lot to learn but that’s where the fun is!
If you’re one of those people always thinking ‘wow I wish I could draw’, here is how I did it:
I worked through the book You Can Draw in 30 Days by Mark Kistler, which a friend recommended to me (if I'd known then about the book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards I'd have used that too, but I didn't. It's good though)
I filled up a couple of sketchbooks with terrible drawings, mainly figure studies from quickposes.com and bad drawings of my blorbos
Finally thought I had something good enough to post, posted it, received so much support and love that I carried on, and I honestly cannot thank all of you enough for that
Kept drawing and drawing, making myself do the things that were hard or that I thought were above my skill level (harsh truth: you will never get better at the hands if you don't draw the hands)
After a little while I thought 'I wonder if I can use my iPad as a drawing tablet', and started using the Procreate app (then about £4, now about £10 I think, still a flipping bargain), first with my finger, then with a stylus that came with my iPad case, then with a slightly better stylus I bought on eBay, then two years ago I got a better iPad and could have a Pencil which is AMAZING
I have also recently taken two Procreate courses on Domestika which taught me a lot of things about drawing in general and Procreate in particular and I should probably have sought this information out sooner! They were Atmospheric Scenes in Procreate: Paint with Color and Light by Ramona Wultschner, and Female Character Portraits in Procreate, by Natalia Dias, and I would recommend them both
And I kept drawing a whole bunch and my friends were super encouraging so I just kept going and didn't stop
I have tips! Things I've learnt along the way
If you use Procreate, look up and learn about clipping masks, alpha lock, streamline, liquify, Gaussian blur
Don't worry too much about brushes, I mainly just use the hard and soft airbrushes and two versions of round marker (one with low streamline for sketching and one with high streamline for line art). I have a spotty one for freckles and that's about it really for what I use 99% of the time. People will try and sell you brushes by making you think you'll be able to draw like them if you have the right brushes but you won't and you don't want to draw like them anyway, you want to draw like YOU
Use more layers than you think you'll need, you can always merge them later
You will suck at first. You will suck so bad you will want to cry. But you have to be terrible, it's the only way to get to not terrible. The only way you STAY terrible is if you give up
Just when everything seems awful and everything you draw is crap and you don't ever want to draw again, that is when you must KEEP GOING and PUSH THROUGH because you are about to level up. Persevere just a little bit longer and soon you will be staring at your own hands thinking 'HOW'
Drawing is a learnt skill. There is no such thing as Talent, just people who've spent longer learning and practicing than you have. Eight years ago I couldn't reverse park my car, either, and then I got a new job where it was really handy to be able to reverse park in the car park and now I'm really good at it. You can improve at anything if you're willing to put in the time! GROWTH MINDSET!!

eyyy how'd you get so good at drawing
but no for real, how you draw portraits is amazing. I adore the way you're able to suggest things without actually defining features super well. Being able to do that clearly shows mastery in knowing how to draw people's faces and that is very impressive. I can tell you've done a lot of work to get to this skill level!
But seriously, can we the people get some tips on how to get to this level? Any tips? Thanks so much! Keep on creating!
hey, thank you so much! I love drawing people and hearing such words is the most pleasant thing ever… As it happens, I’ve been thinking on that issue for some time already (not on getting better at drawing peoples’ faces particularly but on how to increase all drawing skills in general) and I’m not really sure that I’ve got a decent answer right now (but I think that you can somehow read others’ minds, heh)
things that I’ve already figured out:
your perfectionism is your worst enemy. You don’t have to draw all those faces in detail, it’s not even interesting to do sometimes — all that you need is an energy burst, a f e e l i n g that you can transmit to others through drawings and through the process of drawing itself. It means that you need to focus only on the things that are important in that particular moment — it could be arms that you’re going to neglect at that point, at another point you will harshly draw the eyes and only vaguely outline the mouth.
never stop experimenting. It’s the most important and at the same time probably the most cliché thing to say (if we don’t count ‘practice more’). You always need to be in the state of search for something more. My last discovery was that there are plenty of different ways to hold a pencil, not just how we’ve been taught at school. When you change the position of your arm your point of view is also changing. This kind of stress makes you feel really uncomfortable at first but then you find yourself ready to find other ways to solve these problems (btw, I suppose this method won’t work with a stylus for digital tablets although I’ve never tried) 2.1 live sketching (when you draw not from your head or photos but from real people/things you see around you) is actually very good — people are usually very agile (of course they are — they’re alive), they won’t keep one pose for ages so you’ll have probably 2-5 minutes to make a sketch, which is perfectly enough to kill your perfectionism and widen your drawing comfort zone at the same time. (be careful in cafes! people tend to be suspicious when you take out your sketchbook or, for example, glasses, in my case) It’s also helpful for studying perspective. If you can’t help but use references, try using a timer. There’s a cool website where you can practice sketching poses and where you only have a few minutes for each pose (something like quick-poses-dot-com)
observe more things/people around you, as well as other artists’ works, that goes without saying;
practice more (: I’m sorry I know that’s a bit annoying but it’s true. Don’t think that somehow you can be transported in the state when all your drawings are incredibly beautiful (unique and exquisite, as insta-scammers would say) — that doesn’t happen. You’ll always have a ratio: some shitty paintings to one-two decent or beautiful ones. The percentage of drawings-you-wish-you’ve-never-drawn will get lower, but won’t totally disappear, at least I don’t think so. So no need to be afraid, accept the possibility of never-ending mistakes and just do your thing, keep at it. There are plenty of reasons to draw in life.
phew, I hope I was at least a little bit helpful! still trying to comprehend all of this myself. and thank you and thank you again!

Aroace colors Inkling I made in Procreate for practice!
I've been trying to figure it out so I'm not making any good art to upload yet. This is the first thing I made that looks ok, and it's still pretty rough compared to what I usually do.
My experience working with an ipad below because wow that got long.
My dad got me an Ipad to replace my 2014 Samsung Galaxy because it's getting some battery issues but uh...I haven't used an Apple product in forever. It's been two weeks and using an ipad still feels like someone sawed off my hand and stapled it back on :') I think it's a combination of having to learn to use new hardware and software, but it's been so tough trying to make digital art on this thing.
I wish I could use Medibang since it's what I'm most used to, but for some reason the pen I'm using won't register pressure with Medibang, so I have to use Procreate. I changed the pressure settings to work with Procreate, but it's still weird and hardly works the way I want it to, so I'm not sure if it's something with the 3rd party pen I'm using, or something else. We did order a paperlike screen so hopefully that fixes some issues for me. I never had to use one for my Galaxy even though it had a glossy screen cover, but its stylus and the pen for Ipads have different tips and it's not easy using the pen to draw.
I had an easier time working with my wacom and CSP, but then again CSP and Medibang have similar layouts so it's not too difficult to adjust. Procreate is nice, but it's so different from what I'm used to that it feels like I'm arguing with someone just using its basic functions lol. I found the default brushes so difficult to use, too. My dumb monkey brain isn't flexible enough for this thing.
Kind of a rant, but it's just me complaining and it's a matter of my getting used to it. I did manage to make this, so hopefully I can consider Procreate as my next tool, But in the meantime, I still have my Galaxy and Medibang on it, so that's still where I'm mainly working. I reserve CSP for really big digital works or more complicated paintings since...it's a hassle setting up my pc and wacom tablet lol.

This Christmas thing is awesome! Everyone in the committee is so happy!
I’ve never seen everyone so lively before, it’s kinda strange to say the least. I’m glad everyone’s happy.
Wishes will last forever, but I know it won’t, everyone will go back to hating me and I’ll go back to my room, sitting there alone in the dark as usual. but it’s what I’m used to so it’s nothing new, just hope that everybody hates me a little less maybe, but who knows with future holds for us or at least me anyway.
Got a new tablet or iPad, I mean, and this funky little stylus that came with it, Rowan said something about wanting me to draw? I don’t know I didn’t really listen, I was too busy being amazed at the new iPad.
Hope I can get a lot of work done at least with this, going to be pretty fun drawing! Maybe they gave us to me so I would be out of the way, I like to think I’m usually out of the way. Sure sure I can be annoying, but I’m not that bad, right?
I mean, I can be insufferable sure, but not THAT bad, right? please Pudim is nice to me, I mean sure, there’s a newbie of the committee, but it’s nice to have somebody as nice as her around.
Not much to do other than eat, the wires and stuff. You know the usual, eating the random garbage I find most look as I can, otherwise it isn’t much to do. It’s pretty boring. occasional rat I find around here and no not chonk, even though everyone around here, kinda hate him.
First time I brought him in everybody thought it was gross, well, except Luci, she thought he was pretty cool.
Well, I should go back to work, and a Vlog we’re done here.
End log.
Purple.

Never trust any deadline I ever set, that is 100% wishful thinking.
Anyway, I’m back and I’ve finally uploaded the second chapter. It is available to read on the website, although the PDF reader is still a little sketchy. I would like to see the outline feature work, that would be ideal. Unfortunately I have yet to figure that out. The work continues...
I also finally broke down and got an iPad for art purposes. There are just too many useful art programs that are exclusive to that system, so I guess I’ll give it a shot. I imagine it will be less cumbersome than the drawing tablet that has to be hooked up to my computer and the old Samsung tablet I have isn’t ideal for art. The stylus it comes with has a stupid button right where I grip it. The button isn’t programable and pulls up a full screen menu while I’m trying to draw. Hopefully the iPad will bring some ease and convenience to the process of digital art.
