THIS IS SO REAL. ive had this hc for ages but like honestly ive been trying to figure out how exactly it would work... i like thinking abt how characters transness would really look, how it affects them and their lives etc

with the toons in general its. Hard. since they have cartoon counterparts which presumably have the same thoughts n personalities and insecurities and emotions and everything then surely they would feel the same way about their gender that they were written to feel ? either the character was intentionally written to be transgender in the show or. yknow like many real trans people they just felt differently about the gender they were written to have. that they were put in the wrong body, that theyre forced to play a character who they arent and it feels off in a way. a "mistake" in their creation, in the way their cartoon conscious was put into their physical toon body. plus theres the issue that in the dw lore all of the toons were made around the 90s and regardless of the circumstances would gardenview allow one of their toons to change their appearance or pronouns???? would they not allow it because they dont want parents angry and they dont want kids to be confused as to why the toon in the cartoon character is so different from the real toon?

so... theres a few ways ive thought abt it but im really not sure which one is most appealing to me/makes the most sense.

a) rodger was actually a girl in the cartoons. pretend like all the posters and cartoon episodes depicted him as a girl!! but he was allowed to transition in his real toon form. provides some fun trans angst maybe because he has to stare at photos and posters of who he was meant to be and maybe feel a little guilty thinking that he failed at being who he was written as. has to deal with confused kids and angry parents because society is still iffy about trans people

b) rodger was written as a trans man from the start. possibly just some obscure lore that was never mentioned in the cartoons, at most hinted at, because they didnt want people to get angry at there being an openly trans character. nobody really comments on it, but since he has the memories of his cartoon counterpart he has memories of a time from before he had transitioned

c) rodger is some other flavor of trans (amab but doesnt feel masculine? feels enby or female or some other gender) but in his circumstances he cant really transition or even openly admit that he feels this way. just stuck in this body and cant do anything about it because of the environment hes in - gardenview would never allow it. (could also be that rodger is still transmasc, hes just afab and is stuck unable to transition in a different way, but hed probably look different and have a different name altogether)

Hello! First of all i just wanted to say im a huge huge fan of FD and all of your art, you are immensely talented and are feeding the WordGirl fandom so good, we all thank you

I just wanted to ask for some clarification on the comic’s timeline. I know maybe establishing this is not a huge priority, I just wondered if you could clear some of my doubts

We know the comics goes, in chronological order, from 9.5, 8.5, then 1-9 (at least currently). In ch. 1, it states there is a 5 year time skip, presumably from the final episode of the original airing, in which Becky is 11. Chapter 1 is the “present” of the story, and while we could assume Becky is 16, later on in a post you reveal she is actually 17, and Tobey is 18. The difference is only one year and it doesnt really matter much, i just wanted to point this out because I wanted to ask from when does this 5 year time skip take place?

Another moment I wanted to point out is the timeline of Tobey’s situation. We see that inside the alleged 5 year time skip, at least 2 years(?) before Ch 1, Ch 9.5 takes place. We still don’t have the second part but from what I understand, something happened which changed Tobey’s behavior dramatically, back into his old villain habits, and thats Ch 8.5. The thing is, Tobey then spent a year in jail and went back to school after Becky’s letter. That’s the closest point in the past that we have to the present. How long were Tobey and the whole gang friends as seen in Ch 9.5? How long has it been between Ch 8.5 and Ch 1 (starting after he went back to school)? Is the timeskip of 5 years potentially relative to some other event we are yet to see after the original airing but before Ch 9.5?

Also, how old are Becky and Tobey in Ch 8.5 and 9.5, respectively? Tobey states in Ch 5 that Becky and he were never really friends, and later states in Ch 8.5 that she probably hates him. I understand that Tobey’s head is kind of screwed up big time and he’s probably got a distorted view of what’s really going on, but did they maybe have a falling out or something of the sorts before Ch. 8.5 and the present? If the answer is yes, I understand you’d probably not reveal anything because afterall you’re still writing the comic so It would just be revealed later when you wanted to reveal it. Still, I can’t help but ask.

Also this doesn’t have anything to do with the comics but I gotta ask. Your line work is phenomenal, how did you learn to draw like that? Are you self taught or had classes/went to art school? I know this is a really bothersome question for lots of artists, but I’m just so fascinated by your art, I was wondering if you could talk a little about your art style, it really is captivating how well you draw these characters, how emotional all of the panels feel

This is long one.

I will try to cover everything. My headcanon is that Becky was 12 years old at the end of the main series.. In theory she should be 17 in a 5 year time-skip.

However.. When I wrote chapter one I was going to have them all be 17 years old like Invincible in Season one. I changed this because I want all of them to be out of high school now that they are fighting crime. It would make no sense for them to still be in school. Invincible had all the young characters balance senior year and crimefighting but I just wanted to scrap all that.

Chapter 8.5 happens after the events of Chapter 9.5. Here is a timeline:

(Prequel) Chapter 9.5: Becky and friends are sophomores in high school. With the release of the full chapter you already know how Tobey and Beckys friendship started and ended (15-16 years old).

(Prequel) Chapter 8.5: (End of the chapter) One year after sophomore year since Tobey spent one in jail.. Skipping Junior year. They are now seniors. Tobey has returned from jail and under house arrest still dealing with the consequences of his crimes (16-17 years old).

Chapter 1: Close to the end of senior year of high school. Becky is attacked by Rex in a misunderstanding. Tobey visits Beckys memorial when she is thought to be dead. They have not spoken since the night in the park when they were sophomores (18 years old).

Tobey is insecure and doesnt believe anyone would actually be friends with him. With the discovery of Beckys notebook attempting to “fix” Victoria, Eileen, and Tobey he doesnt believe she ever cared about him (Cough the letter at the end of 9.5 says otherwise). Despite this Tobey still believes their friendship was a sham. He was also never close with Scoops and Violet as they never tried to connect with him out of fear. They are right to be though. He is/can be psychopathic.

I am self-taught and my work really isnt all that. But I appreciate it and am happy to hear. I am inspired by animanga. Sorry if the timeline was confusing as well. I never expected to write much of this comic. There are some plot holes and retcons most people have not even mentioned yet.

speaking of Bella centric, I personally never understood the justification when defending the writing in BD that the reason the Cullen's seem so chill now with their existence is because Bella being so happy and all "I was born to be a vampire wheee!! :D" is what made them rethink their view on their lives or whatever. ESPECIALLY with Edward and Rosalie. Especially x2 with Rosalie.

It's just doesnt make sense when i look at it outside the Bella bubble. Carlisle kinda made do with himself long time ago, and so did Esme. Emmett is pretty much fine with it. Jasper and Alice are the most "vampire" among them, so they dont really feel bad about missing their humanity and whatnot. To say that it took Bella being high off her overwhelming ecstasy in this new life or whatever she said in one of the chapters (i might be misremembering LOL) to get everyone to be all "see, being a vampire isn't so bad!" screams Main Character Energy.

and it doesn't really resolve Edward's issues with them being soulless? Like if you REALLY want to make a reach and say that he saw that Bella was happy being a vampire to convince him, he has family members who he's known for longer have fun despite their vampirism (see: Emmet). And even on a moral issue, which he's looking at it from, it's as if his concern for Rutabaga and her preference for human blood and having a vampiric diet and lifestyle is now a nonissue SOMEHOW??

As for Rosalie, wasnt one of her main issues not being able to have babies, not being able to see them grow and having grandkids? imo I call bullshit that she's fine with just being aunt to Bella and Edwards kid. it's still not her own kid, said "kid" is growing too fast so she's not able to have a proper mother experience with her anyway. also does smeyer expect me to believe that Rosalie is just happy now settling for crumbs from the brother she butts heads with the most and his girlfriend who was so dismissive of her pain of having no kids? please... 🙄

The idea that people who have lived as vampires for decades and even CENTURIES in some cases, should instantly reevaluate their feelings about it because one (1) girl who has been a vampire for literally 3.5 months is having a Good Time will never make sense to me.

Of course she's happy??? She knew what she was getting into, she wakes up in a mansion with the man she loves and his supportive family, she gets to keep Jacob and Charlie, she has a daughter and cool cars and nice clothes and a fairytale cottage. She also hasn't been a vampire long enough to experience the ennui of watching the world grow and change while you stay stagnant, she hasn't watched everyone form her youth grow old and die yet.

No one else had anything CLOSE to that experience. PLUS they all HAVE lived long enough to experience being "frozen, never moving forward." Carlisle can go visit London if he wants, but it's not the London he knew anymore.

And yeah, the souls thing is totally unresolved. I mean I think the idea is supposed to be that Edward now thinks he has a soul because how could a soulless monster have created anything so wonderful as Renesmee? And like, I guess. But Esme's open, loving heart wasn't enough to convince him vampires might still have souls? Carlisle's centuries of working as a doctor wasn't enough? This blood-drinking baby is? Renesmee herself kills things and drinks blood and prefers human blood and will age only for 7 years until she, too, becomes "frozen, never moving forward" and no one has a problem with that? Edward and Rosalie are cool with that? Carlisle, who still wonders if turning the others--who were all dying--was the right thing to do or was dooming them, isn't bothered that Nessie is basically 'doomed' from birth? It really does feel like that since Bella is like "phew! I'll get to have her forever!" about it, everyone else has to feel that way, too. By all means love the kid and be happy she's not going to age up to an old woman in 15 years and die, but you can still be concerned about her quality of life.

re: Rosalie, I agree, I don't believe she's going to be content being aunt to this kid, who isn't even really a kid. She skips all the baby milestones and basically doesn't even have much of a childhood. She just taught herself to talk and read and walk and dance all within 2 months. And Rosalie's thing wasn't "I like babies" it was "I want to be a MOTHER." Those are two different things. Bella continually asserts her place as the Mother, Renesmee recognizes her as the Mother, wanting her upon their first meeting even though other people (like Rose) had been caring for her for two days. Rosalie gets to brush her hair and feed her human blood from a bottle and I just don't think that's going to lead to lasting happiness.

I mean if Bella's still blissfully happy in 50 years THEN the Cullens can reasonably take a hard look at themselves and their views of vampirism but she's literally in the honeymoon stage now and her experience was basically as ideal as possible. She picked up her life where she left off; everyone else had to start over.

Spiders, their senses, and Angel Dust implications

I already screamed to @xxqueenofdragonsxx about this but figured I’d put it out there because I was doing research and I can’t stop thinking about it.

While we don’t know how canon it is to the show, this does have some implications for fanfics and is fun to consider.

Spiders don’t have ears. Or noses. Or tongues.

People have already made jokes about Angel’s lack of a nose, but it tracks with that fact. We also don’t see his ears, although we have seen his tongue (which, given he isn’t an actual spider there can be some allowances made.) Yes, he doesn’t have pedipalps to act as a substitution for his nose/tongue, but that isn’t the only place they can smell/taste things.

It’s their legs/feet(?). Their legs and bodies have sensory hair cells that allows them to detect vibrations in the air, as well as changes in electrical fields (which… Vox and Alastor implications? Can Angel sense them.) Humans hear via sensory hair cells too, but those are concentrated in the cochlea of the inner ear and surrounded by the outer/middle ear system (eardrum, etc.) Spiders don’t have that. They also have chemoreceptors that can smell and taste things.

Now, as someone who didn’t know much about spiders it’s cool to think about in terms of a character with some spider-like characteristics. But then I thought about this other aspect of Angel

His clothing

More specifically his constant usage of gloves/long sleeves/boots. We know he hates his spider feet, and yeah, the usage of gloves and his blazer can be to fit his style, but it’s also fun to think that maybe him wearing them is an active attempt to reduce sensory input? He’d still get some vibration input because the fabric won’t block everything, but it won’t be as direct. But since spider sensory organs aren’t localized like humans are, this could essentially be the equivalent of wearing a headphones. (Also do you really want to taste every single thing you touch?)

Which brings me to the second order of business: when he DOESNT wear his gloves. We do see him have to be bare for the camera, and if you consider him wearing clothes as a way of sensory modulation, he could essentially be forced to get all that input. Sensory overload would already be so ways in a place with so many sounds, lights, smells, etc. but imagine if you also have to do that when not used to such a level of exposure?

In humans there’s a condition called hyperacusis, which is basically a reduced pain and discomfort threshold to sounds. Some everyday ones can cause pain. Some neurodivergent people also have sensory sensitivities like that, in both cases sometimes headphones can help to reduce input.

The thing is though, if you constantly wear them you’re reducing your own threshold. It’s not recommended for people with hyperacusis to wear earplugs all the time because it makes them even more sensitive when not wearing them.

So, if you apply the same principle here, there is even more reason to consider the idea Angel would have some level of overstimulation just from not having his clothes on, combine that with the work environment, what he has to do, and the emotional turmoil of it all and that just makes it worse.

Which… with me anyways I’ve found when I’m too overloaded my brain tends to nope out and dissociate. So that could be what happens to Angel as well.

Then, there is one time outside of the studio we see him with uncovered arms and that’s the battle at the hotel.

Here, he’s wearing gloves but his arms are exposed. So it could be said that he’s allowing himself access to more input while also not overwhelming himself. He still has a buffer with the gloves on, but he also has heightened awareness for things around him.

Again, the amount of this actually being applicable in canon is hard to say. Sense we don’t know how spidery Angel really is (since again, he does have a tongue) and what level of research went into that aspect of their character designs. But I think it’s a fun thing to consider.

So uhhh… yeah. Totally normal about this all as someone who totally isn’t interested in audiology, hyperfixating on hazbin hotel, and neurodivergent myself.

These are factual shit taliesin or others said about him, my personal opinions or notes are between the [ ] thingies

(in case someone wants the source of X thing, just ask me)

• contrary to percy de rolo (who is trying to find his place in the world) molly ALREADY found his place in the world, the world has to contourt around him and he's not changing anything about himself, fuck all

• he has a clear, strong moral code that he follows strictly, even if his actions seem random. [and thats why i dont consider him "chaotic" in the alignment chart, even if he SEEMS chaotic]

• talking about alignment, he also doesnt have any, he def doesnt fit into the "lawful" category, but also "neutral" doesnt sound like him, which makes sense because taliesin based molly (among other things) around the idea of a character NOT being able to fit into the alignment chart, as if if he ever picked a weapon that only worked for people of certain alignment, the weapon would never work with him. Everything explodes [this is all mentioned in the m9 wrap up, regarding mollys creation]

• molly doesnt want to be lonely / is lowk afraid of being so. He doesnt know what its like to be alone because he literally has no memory of ever being so; he has always been in company. And so he's NOT eager to find out.

• he likes complex group dynamics because he's used to them, so being with the nein feels comfortable. (Taliesin said, he literally just went from shifty group to another shifty-unhealthy-group) Still, he knows theres some shit they have to work out in terms of "you fuck everybody over, but THIS group of people you dont fuck with"

• to the previous point, molly is very serious about the little group he has, be it the circus or the nein, you DONT fuck this people over, you may start a war with the dynasty, but THIS group you dont fuck with, and i believe molly has explicitly said this himself (i think around ep12. not the dynasty part though, he doesnt know what a kingdom is in the first place)

• hes damn functionally illiterate, dont care about books, and hes not that bright [*looks at that 10 int*]

• hes a classisist (no explanation needed. I also am not going to rewatch 26 episodes rn to psychoanalyse this part of him. Give me 2 years)

• he doesnt care about anybody's backstory, he doesnt have one, "doesnt see the point in the mess" he will wait until you ACTUALLY do something fucked up and then we'll see [taliesin said that he doesnt think thats a good way of thinking,, but well. NEVER think that their dnd characters are right, ever]

• he didnt learn any name of any Town he went to "because WHY. BOTHER." [This is very conected to the whole illiterate deal, he really doesn't know anything about the world and doesnt care (take for example this moment)]

• he's his own moral compass. He's the center of his own moral reality. He's a deep believer of "I am smart enough to not do anything wrong UNLESS its entirely by accident. So anything i do on purpose cant possibly be wrong because i'm never a wrong person" [yes, thats fucked up LMAO, & im quoting this from taliesin]

• he has a "experience everything" mentality because of the fact that he lost an unknown number of years of his life, and suspects that his past will eventually come and bite his ass and.. he probably wont survive it. so he doesnt think he will be here for long

• theres a definite fear of mortality (?said taliesin) [which is weird since i thought he didnt care? aw man, now his death is even sadder -> this was written when i wasnt over molly's death, okay?]

• he thinks all tm9 is attractive "this is a very shaggable group" [-said taliesin in a panel-]

• he takes advantage in people making assumptions about him and hes comfortable with it meaning, if you're a weirdo who enters a room, the way people react about you, tells YOU all you need to know about THEM [In case its not clear, skip this if it is: if when people see you the first thing they do is side-eye you and make assumptions about you, then you easily learn you dont even need to engage with them, "why talk with someone who makes assumptions abt ppl like that? They've got problems"]

• he was a BAD roommate. Take this however you want, but for example, he would be casually naked, [at least often enough for taliesin to say this]

OH BOY STRAP IN I'm so excited to talk about this.

for starters, the 7 year time skip is in place of the 15 year time skip, but since its fiction, characters like Travis and Michi will still be adults since we didn't meet them season 1 and don't have to adhere to preestablished ages. the biggest changes are really to the world and the kids. (keep in mind there are some other changes that happen in season one that would effect how characters work or how things play out, for example KC being the traitor or Nichole being a werewolf both heavily effect the plot that plays out around them and how their characters behave. i can hear your screams about KC but just trust me. hold my hand. we'll get through this together)

side note. the reason its 7 years is because that's the actual length they are in the Irene dimension in the episode. technically 7 minutes and 30ish seconds so its a 7 and a half year time skip.

Dante is 22 in season 1 and 29 maybe 30 in season 2. in season 2 Dante is much less in charge of guarding a village and more so, protecting the remaining members of phoenix drop after O'Khasis and Scaleswind burnt it to the ground and most people left. Its important to note that this time, Alexis, Kyle, Levin, and Malachi are not present. The only guard besides Dante is Nicole who was disowned by her father at the end of season 1 due to being a werewolf (its an allegory for being gay but she doesnt know that yet shhhh) and KC is staying out of a sense of trying to make up for her mistakes (she was the traitor in season one because Zane threated to have her deported back to tu'la, (where shes wanted for being a magicks user,) if she didn't put the listening amulets into her dolls and give them to the guard (Dante) so Zane could listen in on their meetings. but she ends up coming clean in the end and refusing to help Zane anymore) anyways BECAUSE of these factors and Dante's closeness with both of his perspective baby mamas combined with the fact that there is NO WAY Dante had any sex ed experience. Dimitri is born earlier than he is in the series. but not before Nicole realizes she's a lesbian and amicably breaks things off with Dante, staying friends (they're roommates for awhile). Dante and KC start dating and its through hanging out with Dante and baby Dimitri that she realizes she wants that with Dante asks him how he would feel about having another child. Which, of course, born-to-be-a-girl-dad-Dante is overjoyed about. Dmitri and Nekoette are both younger than they are in the series by the time we meet them. Dmitri being around 4 while Nekoette is about 3.

Alina does exist! sort of! she's not the same character as she was in the series. instead she is Shad and Irene's unnamed daughter who was turned into a relic. I'm actually shocked that plot point got introduced and the ACTUAL girl who was turned into a relic didn't even get a name. I also think it would be interesting if the people who the relics were made out of could speak to their holders and Lilith is the one who ends up with it instead, making Alina still important just in a different way. (shes also older, like 8)

hell yeah its Garrancemau. they get together near the end of season 1 and the series as a whole ends with their wedding.

Aaron does exist, but much in the way Alina does, he's a lot different. he's not shads vessel (that's Laurance), he IS still Liliths dad and he does still die but this time its for good. Aaron is significantly older than Aphmau and their relationship is not a romantic one, its a mentorship. Aaron is the example of someone who married a member of his guard and it worked out (changing Lily to his head guard because what do you MEAN she was the guards daughter) he's an example of exactly what Aphmau most fears, losing everything and it being her fault. he's actually a FANTASTIC parallel to Aphmau because in so many different ways he represents what her future could look like. and then he dies. and she has to cope with her first ever huge loss. and so does Lilith, and everyone else who had grown to like him. (he's less broody and stand-offish and is known better for his wisdom and advice) and he doesn't come back. we have to cope with that loss the same way aphmau does and find a way to move on without him. while she tries to remember everything he taught her. (also instead of the amulet blowing his town up it transforms him into the ultima and he goes on a mindless killing spree. that's way more blood-on-your-hands than accidently blowing everyone up.) I have more i could say about him but this section is already too long.

I'm happy to go more in-depth on any of this if you're interested! me and my sister have put A LOT of thought into this as we've been watching it together so if you want me to elaborate on anything PLEASE ask.

How do you think Jays memory loss (and shattering but I think his memory loss might be more relevant. Might) is gonna tie to his larger character arc. Because from I seen doc has said that there IS a reason as to why they chose Jay to lose his memories out of all the ninja to give him quality character development and I’m wondering how him not remembering his previous life will specifically connect to his character and how they’ll use this aspect to better build on it.

What u been thinking is that maybe it ties to him relearning his loyalty to his family as a whole, relearning or reinforcing his values. Like, even if he forgot everything he’s still gonna have the spirit he has and the sense to protect those he allies himself with. I say allies because if he DOESNT get his memories back, he might just see the ninja as that at the beggining, before eventually getting the trust again, uk what I mean? But honesty I’m rlly not sure and I haven’t analyze jays character as much as other ppl like u so I wanna know what u think cuz im like, a little lost tbh

First of all, I think that out of all the ninjas to lose their memories, Jay was an obvious choice. Not only because they wanted to subvert Jaya's tragedy with Nya being the one in the grieving process this time, but because Jay's character needed SOMETHING, a long arc that would polish and redefine who he is, in a literal sense.

Zane and Nya are out of the question because they've already done this arc with them (s11 and s15), Cole has essentially completed his character development, Lloyd is obviously not an option, and with Kai it really wouldn't be that impactful. This is a chance to reinvent Jay's character after so many seasons of him being just the comic relief who lost a lot of the aspects that made him an interesting character. It was a good oportunity to give him more development considering this will probably be about a reformation, redemption, and self-discovery arc (I mean, considering they don't rewind it all in one episode, which I doubt.)

Whether the buildup has been good or not is another question, but yes, there is a lot more you can do with Jay and all the building up of his identity tied to his past that hasn't been done with the rest and I think that was the reason they did it.

There's also a good reason they chose the Administration for him to end up there, and that's because according to Doc it's based on Kafka's "The Trial": a meaningless world where nothing matters and the protagonist is essentially lost in a labyrinth. The worst place for Jay to end up, because his most important themes have always been about family and if you take that away, well; he's completely alone and has nothing to hold on to.

So I want to believe that Jay's arc will be about discovering who he is, what his powers mean, what his role is on the team if he ever wants to come back, what his reason for fighting for is, what his greatest strengths are as a person (loyalty, resilience, his wit, which is why I hope we get Inventor Jay back). We haven't seen much of him as a character so far, but I WANT to believe that in s3 we will see these traits. That even without memory, Jay is still himself, only he has changed because of all the things that have happened to him since the Merge.

I don't want to confuse my hopes with what's most likely to happen, but if I had to guess, between getting Jay's memory back and saving his soul, I think the ninjas will go with the second option first. Assuming both things don't happen at the same time. Considering having his soul shattered is way worse and makes him vulnerable to rox, etc, I really don't think they'll get his memory back first before healing his soul.

In any case, I really think if jay is going to get his memories back it'll be after starting over with the others because I really feel like they're going to go the route of having him have to relearn a lot of things from scratch, with the ninjas having to deal with all these new changes and the possibility that: Jay may never get his memory back... But that should not stop them from starting over from scratch and for him to be loyal to them again as before.

With Jay always being the most morally questionable of the team, I'd say there's a chance we might see him learn to put others' needs before his own, in the same way I think Nya's arc will be to be more selfish than always choosing her duty but thats off topic.

Hello guys, I'm back again with a post because even if this episode didnt touch my emotionally there is a lot of lore to unpack here and I cannot wait to get into it! Like always spoilers below the gif and I hope I can do this episode justice!

For a start lets start with something light but not really light, Adrinette, where once again we briefly touch on the power of secrets and once again get an insight into Marinette and her secrets and this episode in my opinion really showed once again how all Marinette wants to do is protect Adrien and once again tells us that she has to bear a large burden, now I know some people on seeing the scene where she decided to not show Adrien might get mad but I cant help but not share that sentiment because honeslty Marinette was going to tell him even when Nathalie suggested destroying the letter, which by the way once again proves that the adults have just as much power in this and that everything should not lie on Marinette, even if Nathalie did listen to her but yeah this is not all on Marinette. Now initially I thought that this was the episode after revelator but on cross checking its before which I am glad for as it does not retcon anything and actually makes her decision to not tell Adrien and her decision to hide the truth from Alya make more sense, it shows that Marinette had doubts and would have been honest with that letter if Adrien hadnt voiced his guilt on not trying to speak to his father, with this thought in mind he would feel even more guilty if he knew that his father was Monarch because Adrien is the type to balme himself first all the time so yeah valid decision Marinette and I support you because I understand you but I also get Alya's point and do agree that Adrien needs to be given the choice even more so after Adrien talked about how he wants to face the truth about his father but in the end I could never hate her for her decision. Shes soft and is often swayed by care and emotions and I cannot blame her but honestly she has never been the one to go with tough love, she doesnt have the strength to when it comes to her loved ones. Anyway enough about Marinette and lets move to Nathalie who has just gotten more intriuging.

Now on to Nathalie, first of all before we go into the new lore about her I want to appreciate the bond Marinette has with Nathalie and I find it really sweet that she immediately went to Nathalie which is development from Marinette who tends to do everything on her own ever since Master Fu left so I find it heartwarming that she has found another adult to rely on sometimes, in the end shes still the one in charge but its nice that she has a guardian figure like Nathalie which I am sincerely hoping will never change because the post credits scene with Nathalie throws a bit of doubt on Nathalie's character because of how she was in a room with people who know the truth about Gabriel and are behind the miraculous. I however do not think Nathalie is evil because well she didnt sell Marinette out and give the miraculous to her father and I do not think its case of biding her time because Nathalie had many chances with how close her and Marinette seem to be. She also know about Marinette's weakness when it comes to Adrien and could easily use it to get the miraculous so no I dont think she is bad in the miraculous stealing way but she may be bad in other ways. The operation perfect world definitely had evil undertones so she might still be evill well not evil but morally grey which I personally think will make her more interesting and I cannot wait to see more! She wont betray Marinette or Adrien but she might be bad for the world. Now lets go to Ivan.

First of all I am glad the episode continues to maintain the new status quo of giving us more information about the background characters like it did in Daddycop and it gives me more hope for miraculous but yeah love the direction the show is going because never in a million years did I think that they would give Ivan a story but I am pleased regardless. His story is one of the more interesting ones and finally explains why he was the way he was in season 1 and where his violent tendencies come from. I also like that the first exposure to his backstory includes him standing up to his father which is a nice contrast to Adrien who never got the chance to stand up to his father and probably never will which is quite unfortunate but it is what it is. It is clear that Ivan sort of functions like a foil to Adrien and I am glad the show recognised that. Similarly, this side story with Ivan may be a form of foreshadowing maybe telling us what will happen with Adrien but yeah I kind of like this structure in literature of mini stories from side characters which echo the main characters arcs. I do think they could have explored Ivan's story more but it makes sense that we didnt go into depth just yet as it sort of reflects what happened with Sabrina where we did see glimpses of her toxic relationship with Chloe and how it was only properly addresses much later so I suppose it makes sense but I still consider Daddycop better than this episode. Now lets talk about Gabriel Agreste, the worst father in the world.

Okay so I dont think I have much to say about Gabriel but I shall try anyway, for a start it does seem that there was kind of a time where he was a present father, still not perfect but I guess the papa corn plushie shows that yes there was a time he was affactionate but then again you could argue that the reason he gave Adrien that plushie is because he felt guilty for being a horrible father? I dont really know because I refuse to believe that he was ever a present father because what this man turned into is frightening and I hate him to the moon and back. More on him being a horrible father is his letter to Adrien which I dont know when he wrote but just shows his selfishness because WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE ASKING YOUR SON TO BECOME A SUPER VILLAIN TO BRING YOU AND YOUR WIFE BACK???? LIKE HONESTLY HOW COULD YOU? I MEAN WHY WOULD YOU MAKE YOUR SON GO THROUGH THAT AND LEAD HIM DOWN THE WRONG PATH???? can you tell that I hate him? I am sure you can but this man is someone I am so glad died because now he cant plague Adrien's life but at the same time I feel furious that this man got no consequences, hes happily back with his wife and his son is suffering an orphan, not to mention the trauma and burden he gave Marinette by telling her to ensure that Adrien only remembered the times he was a good father which spoiler alert was not many, anyway I hate him and I am glad he died but I wish he suffered more because that man is the worst. Now lets end with a small note on Luka and shipping and maybe a little more on Adrien.

First of all I need to say that the adrinette WAS SO ADORABLE, LIKE HONESTLY SO SO CUTE AND I ADORE THAT THEY ARE DATING AND I LOVE THE WAY MARINETTE IS ALWAYS PAYING ATTENTION TO HIM AND I JUST LOVE HOW HE IS SO OPEN WITH HIS AFFECTION AND SHE WITH HERS WHICH ONCE AGAIN JUST PROVES TO ME HOW PERFECT THEY ARE FOR EACH OTHER. I know that they have to grow but honestly I do think they're perfect for each other because Marinette is always supportive and Adrien just vibes with her overthinking and craziness which I adore so so much but enough about them, now lets talk about Julerose.

So for a start I have to say that I am not their biggest shipper but that doesnt mean I dont find them cute, I honestly love the little bits we have about them but until todays episode I didnt really pay much attention to them but after todays episode where well it is super obvious they're together from the censored kiss which I am sire was on the lips, well they are canon and no one can dispute it, I always knew they were but I never really paid attention or cared but after today I will be trying to find more signs unless I am swept by Adrinette which is my ship. Whatever the case they both have a really supportive relationship and it was nice to see Rose encourage Juleka, only for her to absolutely steal the show which is so sweet but yeah I dont really have more to say on them exactly but I guess we can talk about Miss Bustier.

so shes not my favourite character and after reading people's opinions on her online, I am sort of developing this irritation with her and dont feel like she deserves a song but like I guess it is sweet the class cares and thats always nice to see where friends support each other and they didnt get mad at Ivan for leaving. It just really shows what great friends they are to each other and thats something I enjoy about miraculous how everything isnt just romantic and that its not called the superior love but that they operate in combination with platonic friendships like Marinette and Alya most notable but also in the small moments of support by Luka for his sister Juleka and his supportiveness of Adrien and Marinette despite his feelings for Marinette. Whatever the case it was a fun episode and I still love the show and I feel like I can say more but for now I've got to sleep, I may(Not really) do a follow up later but for now this is Fanta signing off. crow releasing their pov sent me back into the mindset of thinking about how their weapons are SO PROMINENT in parallel life so ramble time! smack me if i get any info wrong i need to rewatch parallel life i forgot some details abt it

so a little while back i rambled in tibby's inbox with an analysis of crow's sword, ghost slayer, and the 'broken hearts club' that was formed in ep 4. but while watching crow's pov today, i had a realization that somehow i never really noticed pitchfork was crow's weapon?? meaning that both of crow's main weapons have symbolism???? so im gonna yap about these two weapons now (mainly the axe)

pitchfork is the diamond axe that crow used to kill e in ep 3, and the same weapon that was used by e in ep 5. ghost slayer is the diamond sword that crow named after teaming with the polycule, which after her death was passed on to e, and eventually tibby.

the contrast between how ghost slayer is used and how pitchfork is used within the plot is wild. ghost slayer is more of an emotional attack for people like tibby and e: where it never actually killed anyone, but harmed them mentally as it got passed around after crow + ghost's deaths already affected people. pitchfork, however, was MUCH more of a harm as it was used for actual kills against e and middy. with ghost slayer comes mourning, and with pitchfork comes betrayal.

you can see me talk more about ghost slayer in the ask i sent a while back (may rewrite that in the future) but pitchfork is shaped around betrayal. crow took ghost killing her the second as a betrayal. she was betrayed, and wanted revenge. she kills e with pitchfork out of her anger from the betrayal but then teams with e and the polycule. however in ep 5, under ghostfoam's influence, e kills crow. another betrayal for crow. two of the people she'd put so much trust into despite knowing they weren't truly trustworthy. despite ghostfoam promising to kill her and "make the crow curse real". despite e having just teamed with ghostfoam, pretty much already betraying the polycule (besides crimson!) in the process. after crow's death, e gets the axe. replaces their own with it. and the next episode, uses the axe to kill middy. yet again, betrayal. it's like a hex on this axe.

i cant quite find a good word to label the symbolism of pitchfork itself but i also find it interesting the influence ghost and crow still have after they die. whether its them directly being a devil on someone's shoulder or just kind of. always having a piece of them being there since their weapons were used for so long. if i remember correctly, e was influenced mainly by ghostfoam, but also partially by crow to kill pickle and emerald with the portal trap. you can also see crow in chat every now and then during ep 4 & ep 5. of course ghostfoam leaves a big influence after/through his death, but we don't see crow's death directly influence much other than the polycule's trust of e (which was already pretty low for some polycule members...). crow is more of how i mentioned influence through the weapons. influence through the mental toll ghost slayer hit tibby with. influence through the axe that was used by the betrayed then being used to betray.

someone remind me to do a full analysis on parallel life crow because OH MY GODDDD todays crow episode changed my brain chemistry & my view on crow's parallel life character in general i NEED to talk about it more in the future

Whereas shamura is the (main) undertaker , Leshy and Heket are the two missionary party leaders , and Narinders isnt very obvious but hes considered the gladiator :-3c

Lamb and Goat (Allure & Giuseppe) are the two leaders of the cult!! (Allure main leader, giuseppe co leader) As time went on and giuseppe settled in allure's cult , the name changed from just alluring lamb to the cult of death and wisdom ,,, Ram (aaliyah) isnt a very repetitive person that shows up at the cult since she has her own cult to run (within another universe , a war cult specifically) but she likes to show up every so often just to check in with her brother [giuseppe] :>c

And ofc how could i forget wilt lol- i forgot to add giuseppes cape here Woops ,, But its what giuseppes main clothes r in the other cult

And well i kinda wanted to incorporate the healed designs ,, another thing i wanted to add is that i constantly yap about them all being rlly strong (minus Narinder however- i believe he wouldn't be able to go on crusades or missionaries due to fibromyalgia) but its not too obvious either ,, id def say that leshy and allure are probably the strongest out of everyone else (leshy can summon roots from the ground and uses his body as an advantage, where as to allure their main weapon is withholding a heavy axe ,, but that shit is Not Easy so both leshy and allure are bottom heavy cuz of that- their back muscles and legs carry shit for the both of them HELPP)

Shamura isnt exactly a battlefield person though, they're probably the only bishop to not wanting to fight ?? Those days r Way behind them ,, Kallamar can make himself taller due to Allure reserving some strength left of the blue crown as apart of a compromise they were forced to make with kallamar to stay within the cult-

One thing in common Giuseppe and Narinder have is pacifism ,, narinder is a pacifist because of seeing allure so ill and he didnt actually like seeing people in pain- whereas Giuseppe is pacifist because hes a god of wisdom nd prefers to take things with a lighter approach. The complete opposites of those two are Allure and Aaliyah, theyre both aiming for any type of genocidal route because of what they went through for both the lamb and goat genocides occuring in different worlds of theirs ,, giuseppe doesnt rlly like crusading with allure for that reason 😭 even though aaliyah is Much worse since shes a god of war- its just the way that bloodthirst makes giuseppe incredibly uncomfortable,, to see such a shy lamb act the opposite on their crusades is Lowkey what terrifies him lmao-

Herrmm ,, heket and kallamar are pretty similiar in the stances of not rlly gaf-ing about fighting and crusades ,, heket is good at stealth and kallamar just aims right for the target because shi's just Impatient-

i think he might be a little behind on the tradition... so you might have to fill him in...! i think once he gets an understanding of the holiday he tries to do something for you! i think he would pick flowers from around the forest for you ! so be prepared for that! but if you have an allergy or arent really a flower person, then i think he might find you a collection of cool rocks... maybe he even carves something from wood for you! dont forget picnics, too! i think he would take this as a moment to remind you how much he loves you... its not often that he verbalizes how much he values you.... well verbalize in terms of speaking in your head... but...! 8/10 hes my wife your honor!

SPLENDORMAN:

unlike his brother he DOES know what the holiday is and just know hes going to get this huge picnic set up for you! he cant exactly go out and buy you anything (actually... most of these characters cant....) so i think he might make you something! a handmade gift! isnt that nice! might give you a flower crown as well... i think he would try his hand at making the food for the picnic, i think unlike slender he can handle digesting human food... okayish... be it because he built a tolerance or because hes built different... shrugs... gives you a bouquet of sun flowers and makes the day about YOU... he would appreciate a gift, but hes not going to give you flack for not getting him anything 8/10 i love him too i wish i wrote for him more

EYELESS JACK:

honestly given that he lives in a cabin in the woods with like. zero ties to the outside world, he kind of loses his sense of time... kind of just relies off of the weather changing through the year to gauge what month it is... and even then that can only be so accurate... no youre probably going to have to remind him or drop some hints... kind of panics at first... i think he would offer to do some services for you (not like that) such as doing some work around your place, or cooking for you... but that doesnt mean much when he already kind of does that... hmmm.... offers to take you out to watch the stars, you guys end up exchanging stories... maybe if you ask nicely, he might come out with you to the streets and stroll around with you after everyone else has gone to bed... i dont think he really does... big gestures... 7/10 i still love him too and tbh my ass wouldnt mind not getting a huge gesture or gift

LAUGHING JACK:

masky does know about the holiday, for the most part, usually from media and commercials, though... im still a little eh on how i write masky and hoodie in general but shhhh. i dont think he would see it as much of a big deal, though... but he can kind of see it being a big deal to you, if it is of course. i think he would just bluntly try to ask you what you want. no beating around the bush with this one... doesnt expect anything in return nor does he want anything... but i dont think he would deny you if you wanted to spoil him... 6/10 i love me a straight forward king

as for tim i think he might try to put some more romance into his attempt and try to surprise you... might cook you dinner and decorate the place to look fancy, since i dont think he would like going out to some fancy restaurant... gives you flowers, too... doesnt ask for anything in return either but his eyes do light up a little when you get him something, bonus if its not your typical valentines gift and its something thats more relevant and practical in the long run 6.5/10

HOODIE/BRIAN:

i think i can see hoodie being a little more playful in this scenario, but not by much... hes not at emotionally distant as masky is, but hes still not easy to read. i think he would make you something... maybe its because i see brian being into art and its bleeding into how i interpret hoodie, but i think he would paint you something... or maybe he tries to set up a little movie date for you two! makes a pillow fort to surprise you, too.. very nice, very calm night.. you guys stay up all night together. he refuses to fall asleep before you... 7/10

between the two if im going to go with the artist hc brian is the better artist and is generally more confident in his ability to make something that looks pleasing to the sight orbs. be it a portrait or something based around one of your interests, hes going to be working for weeks in advance trying to perfect it... i think he might also try to take you out for dinner, too. i can see brian being a bit of a romantic sap, probably plays your guys's songs while you're driving around town together 9/10 i would actually cry personally

TICCI TOBY:

between being on the run for krilling his dad and for burning his neighborhood down + working for slenderman toby isnt around often... but he does try to still make time for you, especially when theres holidays going on! hell, he still tries to come over when its saint pattys day. he doesnt care if he doesnt have green, hes still going to go check in on you. so hands down hes going to be there for you... though i dont think he would be able to offer you anything... so you two hanging out will have to suffice. while its not traditional to give your friends anything for valentines (which i think is bs, i like giving my friends candy and homemade goods) he might... just try to go shoplift some chocolate... please talk him out of it... 6/10 its a cool hang out, you guys probably watch movies and catch up!

JEFF THE KILLER:

"ew feelings and caring about others" kind of sums up jeffs views on valentines, and as immature as it sounds, its his true thoughts. so dont expect anything from him, i mean if you ask to hang out he might swing by your place. and by swing by i mean hes going to pick the lock to your window and let himself in through your bathroom... which scares the hell out of you considering youve given him a key to your house... similar to toby the day is spent like any other, which is fine.. not terrible, honestly. you guys probably just fuck around and do what you guys normally do, 6/10

BREAKING MY SILENCE...

my partner and I have been watching different Ride The Cyclone productions. So far we've watched the off-broadway 2016 production (and just in case i'm mistaken, its the one played by Gus Halper, Alex Wyse, Tiffany Tatreau, etcetc. I will also be referring to this one as the OG even though is not cus im too lazy to type allat again), and some of t he more recent ones done in universities. I think it shocked us both to see the differences in the script. I mostly have qualms and complains around Mischa and Ocean's character. Mischa's has to do with how he's portrayed rather than the scripts, like Ocean's. In the newer ones, Ocean is portrayed as such a mean girl especially with the whole improvisation thing. They made her so superficial when in the original it really felt like she was trying her best to (as repetitive as it sounds) be her best and change the world positively even though it gave her a feeling of superiority for believing she is better than anyone else, that it came from HER being capable of changing the world. And by the end instead of reviving herself, she revives Jane and comes to terms that this is how she will affect the world, through giving someone else the chance to live again. That also means that Penny might not even remember her, and that's a whole lot development for Ocean cus she's not thinking about what her mark will be in the world and the changes SHE will make, but rather giving someone else the opportunity to live is purely selfless cus she gets absolutely NO reward, not even personal achivement or nourishment. It's just character development which kind of looses her effect when she's turned into a smart ass MEAN mean girl with airs of moral superiority that make no sense when she's bullying just because. Basically, yes she does think she can change the world but her superiority comes from moral and ethics, not just cus she's like 'im just better than anyone else cus im so slay yas girlypop'. They just pushed it too far with some of the stuff they changed/added (I will admit the improvisation bit was funny, if only it didnt ruin her character ((imo)) I feel like Mischa is being interpreted much more dumb than he actually is. They make him SUUUCH a himbo but almost fully negatively. It seems like they are putting characters in boxes. I enjoyed the OG because - much like he himself says - he gets hyped about things BUT in Halper's interpretation conserves that ''gangster'' more or less serious/chill persona and it's not just some loud ass class clown type of character. We didn't watch much of talia but even thinking of those interpretations singing Talia clashes so much because it feels so dumb'd down compared to the 'og' since he's kind of stupid and silly so it feels like Talia really is just a silly first love, he's being delusional and shit like that. Instead of the Mischa we first saw who already seemed far more realistic and less stereotypical, so it makes more believable for him to be so in love with Talia and that being the whole argument of his desire to live. GRANTED WHAT WE SAW ARE UNIVERSITY PRODUCTIONS so im not sure they were full on actors but still, it bothered me so much to see that twice, i had to get it out of my system bro. No hate to the actors tho these things happen, whateverrr anyway gus halper slayed that role, i have yet to see a Mischa that has so much ACTUAL passion and doesnt dumb down his rage thanks for listening im done yapping please dont yell at me thanks x2!!

I think Runes an oracle of delphi, maybe even vibing with the Hephaestus kids, but being fully mortal, it feels fitting to me, it gives him a good plot reason to be around everyone but also still being fully mortal and mostly unrelated to the gods. Probably goes and gets tea with Hestia every week though, yk

Nemo and Gavrin are probably both kids of Iris, i feel as if it fits well! The goddess of rainbows often being associated with creativity, which to me just kinda fits, though Nemo could be a kid of Apollo as well

some a bit less structured ideas/current plans

im reusing the forgotten plateau as the tutorial area for the totk rewrite .... but its INSIDE; you get put there after the start by rauru and have to rebuild the bracelet thingy around his arm bc it got destroyed/damaged in the struggle with ganondorf and the bracelet thing is what has the abilities instead of just .. him? having it somehow? but also not for some reason? bc i find that more believable and lends itself well to gaining one after the other by putting its parts back together (it also feels a bit more controlled in a way, not everyone would have been allowed to have them back in his days)

consider it like .. raurus secret basement, as his castle was also put on the forgotten plateau (but not in the spot of the citadel of time bc wtf, and by now its gone like most else he built), with it being all underground and without a map you wouldnt even know where you are (also i find it to be in character; id imagine it was still called the cradle of hyrule even without the kingdom being there- and thats where he got the idea from to name his "new" kingdom 'hyrule'- not knowing that was its name before)

(as of now the addmittedly cool moment of first jumping down from the canon totk tutorial isnt included but that can still change also i personally think its pretty cool to have to climb all the way up to the sky before getting to explore it- plus the sky is mainly for shiekah stuff since they are so .. having to do with celestial stuff and the sonau in the rewrite are from the underground- though theres little actual sonau stuff left and the shiekah were there too bc its been a long ass time after all)

its not in great shape overall and some rooms have been discovered by the ancient shiekah in the past who studied the bracelet parts they found and use that research to make the stasis and bomb runes (at least), since im bringing back the bombs and the time reversal is what the stasis rune was based on- at the end of which you have to fight a miniboss monster sent after you by gan (bc he damn well knows where rauru would flee to) get your first heart container and are let go into the world

i know its way more strict and less free but it could be a big basement and honestly i dont think trying to copy the fantastic tutorial that is the forgotten plateau in botw is the best idea bc it will almost certainly feel like a worse copy, so id just go for something that doesnt chain itself to attempting to imitate it

(the final battle will also take place on the forgotten plateu, but after the switch and rauru starting to changing hyrule to what he wants it to be its lifted up and he brings his castle back on it- which will be a dungeon on its own)

(another more random thought, i do want the aesthetic of the sonau to be more like they were in botw, the ruins you can find in it are the ones from other sonau that survived on the surface without tech past rauru doing the whole thing with ganondorf and everthing but their numbers having been rather low and dwindling over time anyway- but perhaps rauru has a bit of a different idea, in part bc he is older and still attached to their older style that didnt evolve any further and ... it might just be his personal taste to some degree xD

which ALSO makes sense bc if there were other sonau still alive even after rauru did his thing, it would be logical that the remains of their ruins were in better shape (in the rewrite theres barely anything of sonau architecture left until the switch and rauru bringing it back)- they still lived there for quite some time after all- while the ones from rauru largely fell victim to time or to people intentionally getting rid of it bc surely not everyone was loyal to him)

(also an idea for the gerudo sage, there was one loyal to rauru who did do his bidding but in the temple thing she was supposed to wait for rauru was hunted down by 'koume and kotake' -which im not sure if i want them to be gans moms or his daughters bc i also like that idea, im still working with the totk canon thing of it being a new ganondorf btw bc it just works better for this scenario im working with atm- and they took her place guarding the stone hoping that gan would first return there -perhaps its like extra difficult and rather intentionally structured to be anti rauru in way, and less like gan having overtaken it- .. plus i like the idea of you being able to return there after the switch bc you could get a bit extra lore and story for gans background bc he surely wouldnt have wanted to find them there- he might not even have known they were there bc he never managed to break into this temple so the things that stop you in it when you first do it alongside rauru were all placed there by the two and not gan)
