how are you feeling about twottg
i’ve been getting a LOT of these asks from people, and i understand now that people take my opinions seriously. i’m starting to realize that i influence people’s thoughts (which scares me because that is not my goal.) so honestly? i don’t think i should talk about it.
not because it was bad, but because i do not feel good LOL. i had two huge exams, 2 days in a row, and im sleep deprived and feel sick. so i sat down and read it in one sitting, LOVED a lot of it, but also was really disappointed with some things? i felt incomplete when it ended. it felt rushed, it felt crammed, annabeth’s character felt off, etc. i was very underwhelmed.
but what i’m saying is that i don’t know if it’s because the book failed to meet my expectations or if it’s because im an emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausted college student. maybe both? i don’t know. so is there any way you could all be patient with me? i’m just not feeling good. so if i post anything negative about the book over the next few days (im gonna try not to), take it with a grain of salt. okay? because let’s be honest, if i couldn’t put the book down and i read it for 4.5 straight hours, could it have really been that bad? (no.) im just in a weird mental place. college is hard and i have a hard major. your girl is STRESSED and that book was all i’ve been looking forward to. like… why was i expecting it to emotionally cure me? because naturally, since it’s you know, a book, it did not.
wrath of the triple goddess was great. i laughed and smiled a lot, and i really enjoyed reading it. i just dont think im in a place to objectively analyze it right now, and i dont want to spread negativity. so give me a few days to feel like myself again, and then to read the book again, and then i promise i will give you all my thoughts. is that alright? are you guys okay with that?

most boys could be improved with a little nail polish bit thomas bordeleau especially. like what is not clicking for him that he hasn’t done it already my god
EX 👏 ACT 👏 LY you understand. i saw this post one time and simply never looked back so without further ado here are the top ten nail polishes, in no particular order, that i think thomas bordeleau should try:
1. sally hanson xtreme wear in 140 rockstar pink
we’re starting with this one because i previously mentioned it in another post, and, while i think thom gives the vibes of a single color natural nail mani, i like this one because it’s one polish that’s multicolor—dark pink glitter with a little bit of blue to call in the sjs and the baby blue suit he was wearing. also, glitter nail polishes will last you FOREVER
2. chanel le vernis in 339 cassis
also have to start out by including my closest approximation to the nail polish in the photo that started this all. i love the sheerness of this polish, which means it can be more unobtrusive and a little blink-and-you’ll-miss-it barely-there detail or more prominent with more layers
3. gucci glossy in 715 winterset snow
personally i don’t often go for a white nail but i think borde would like something very crisp and clean (white does look nice on him). however, i think his white and/or cream needs to be a little cooler and not as much on the yellow side, which made finding this polish difficult but like. what else was i doing today (so many things)
4. les mains hermès in 85 rouge h
we have solid evidence that borde loooves a good maroon moment and i did specifically pick hermès (no idea why. fancy? would appeal to him?). love the cooler tones in this red for him and i heavily debated giving him this really deep rich purple (violet byzantin) of the same style of polish but we can work up to wearing that one
5. cirque colors x live. love. polish in puttin’ on the ritz
while i know the first color on here is literally a fine glitter, To Me thomas bordeleau is a chunky glitter gorl. it’s got artsy details, a bunch of different types of glitter, it’s iridescent, it can be layered, i’m in love with it. it will match any outfit thom i promise
6. maniology in b333 gold rush
imho i would wear more silver jewelry to compliment the cool tones he likes to wear BUT. borde almost always sports gold (honestly not bad wrt bringing out the california tan, it doesn’t wash him out) so i am giving him a boring, but very specific metallic not-too-yellow-or-light-or sparkly gold nail color. sorry. just paint one nail and use it like an accent or for french tips for spice, idk bud you’re the hand model here and i am simply an incredibly picky art director
7. àuda.b in my cactus
i love how vibrant this green is, i love the finish on it, i think we could convince thom to branch out into more jewel tones and pastels. also yes i picked this to match his houseplants
8. nails.inc caught in the nude in hawaii beach & boy de chanel in 404 black
i have a lot of shiny and glittery finishes on this list and i reeeeally wanted to throw in a matte finish so. this is a two for one because i couldn’t find a matte version of this chocolate brown that i really liked for him but also i’m giving him a special matte black polish because to me these are both neutrals
9. mooncat in millennia
this one just looks dope. i feel like he would like the chrome effect to it? it is more high effort because it’s a magnetic polish, but also given that he loves juicewrld now i think i could swing this one on that basis alone (it’s the same colors as legends never die).
10. zoya in zp797 cecilia
how could i make this list and not include a pacific teal nail polish for the san jose sharks 🦈 this also would be stunning as a pop of color to accent his grey game day suits just saying
ok if you made it to the end of this i love you ✨ thank you for coming to my ill-advised impromptu ted talk @ thom please paint ur nails and also confirm or deny whether you have pierced your ears thank you

HM… Ryan Gosling as Travis? 🤔 strange… well now I’m compelled to ask who YOU would cast as a live-action Travis!! 👀 no pressure to answer, I just thought this would be fun to ask and see if you had any thoughts on who!! 💕
HEY VIKTOR!! thansk for the ask! I'll be honest the reason why it took me a while to answer this question is because I ended up taking it a little more seriously and ended up maybe making more fancasts of other characters beyond Travis Touchdown. Not to disrespect Goichi Suda's choice in casting, but I think he's wrong.
ANYWAYS, here's my response to who I think should play as Travis Touchdown for a Live Action NMH adaptation + other casting & optional directors.
Intitally, I wasn't sure who I would cast to play Travis Touchdown (be it live action film or tv series), but I do have two suggestions: Patrick Schwarzengger or Bad Bunny.
The Case for Patrick Schwarzengger as Travis Touchdown:
Patrick is a peculiar choice, but I have my reasoning; he's around Travis's age rn (about 29), and while he isn't in much action heavy orientated stuff, he is set to be in Amazon's The Boys spin off 'The Boys: Gen V' and that already, knowing that's series universe is already fucked up is a PERFECT training ground for Patrick to get a grasp on a character living in a pretty messed up world.
Patrick also has a knack playing characters that are either representations of toxic masculinity or are affected by toxic masculinity in his resume. In 'Moxie', he plays a jock, but more specifically I want to highlight his performance in the masterpiece that is 'Daniel Isn't Real'.
While Travis is NOT manipulative, he does have an aura of sleekness, and the factor of 'cool' - at least on the surface. Daniel in Daniel isn't Real, also has this factor of coolness, and in that film he does use that cool factor to disguise his more... horrid actions and ideas. That all said it's a question of whether or not Patrick can pull off the 'patheticness' that is Travis.
I don't know if Patrick wants to keep taking roles of characters affected by Toxic Masculinity (it can get tiring for actors to get pigeonholed into specific roles), but if he likes to play a character like that, he absolutely could make Travis Touchdown come to life. If not, he can always make for a good choice to play Charlie MacDonald in a sequel or season two.
The Case for Bad Bunny as Travis Touchdown.
Much like Patrick, Bad Bunny is around the same age as Travis (being 28 years old). One of the things that Bad Bunny has in spades is that he absolutely pulls off the 'rule of cool', and his aura alone makes him a great candidate to play Travis.
Admittedly, while I haven't seen much of his stuff, I am aware of his appearance in Bullet Train (of which I haven't seen either lol) and his stint in WWE. In fact he genuinely loves wrestling, and that alone is an indicator that he's a great choice to play Travis, who also loves and cares about wrestling (and uses moves in game to kill enemies). To play Travis is to be a nerd and while in the text that's used as a way to (reasonably) punch down on Travis, it's still important to acknowledge that No More Heroes' identity as a series is inherently tied to wrestling.
Suda's first game he ever worked on was a Wrestling game, and NMH wears that influence on its sleeves. It should also be noted that if he does play Travis, it would make his popularity rise even further if he got such a lead role. That's not even mentioning the fact that he's a musician himself, and that alone means you've got a movie-tie-in single on your hands.
My only concern is whether he can pull off the more dramatic and emotional moments Travis has (specifically in his interactions with Holly Summers, his sister Jeane & Alice Twilight which are highlight moments that shapes his views as to what it means to be an assassin, to be the crownless king that had it all and walked away and lived)
Another fancast choice (but one that isn't mine) for Travis Touchdown (Joe Keery)
This all said, I do remember coming across this post, which proposes the casting of Joe Keery to play Travis, and... that is certainly a choice. Not one I would have made, but I do understand why, he's around Travis' age now, and it would help him branch out a bit to take on more... less 'squeaky clean' character roles. Steve Harrington, from what I recall from S1 of Stranger Things, was kind of an asshole??? it's been a while so I don't really remember is that is accurate or not.
My main gripe with this casting is that he still feels very 'teenager-y' and while Travis, design wise is what a teenage boy think would look cool (missing the point that Travis is a PATHETIC character), I'm just worried that he might not be able to pull off Travis's personality + Joe feels a little too clean cut for the role.
On notes of other casting, I do have a few other casting choices for a live action NMH series:
Anya Taylor Joy or Dakota Fanning as Sylvia Cristel
Jamie Hayter, or (honestly any female wrestler or MMA person) as Jeanne (it feels appropriate considering there's a lot of wrestling references in the series) [note; NOT ronda or gina obviously).
Eanna Hardwicke as Henry Cooldown
Abby Lee as Bad Girl
Elle Fanning as Kimmy Howell (probably for a season 2 imo)
Dua Saleh or Chinenye Ezeudu as Shinobu (Note: Shinobu's wardrobe, hair and characterization should be done by black creatives, writers, makeup artists, hairstylists, etc. I'm not sure if a black person was involved in the creation of Shinobu during NMH1's development, but if not, it would be ideal to involve them here.)
Hayley Kiyoko as Margaret Moonlight (again, a season 2 thing/second film addition, but it should be noted that she can act AND sing, so it would be a great opportunity for her to actually sing a cover of 'Philistine' for the film/series soundtrack)
It should be notes I'm pretty open to other casting, and since most of the characters in NMH are white and cishet, you could absolutely get away with casting actors/actresses of colour + queer actors to play these characters. After all, if your assassin organisation is supposed to be that, an organisation of a variety of assassins, you should involve people who come from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, etc. Hell, cast actors of colour to play as your main trio/quadruple of characters (Travis, Sylvia, Henry, Jeane)!
Suda mentioned that he would ideally want James Gunn to be in-charge of such a project, and while I do think James Gunn would be a good fit, he does seem a bit busy with DC and Peacemaker atm. So in the meantime here are some optional replacements who have done similar stuff to Gunn, or have their own unique style
Nicholas Winding Refn.
I assume this is how Suda came up with the idea of Ryan Gosling as Travis, which again a VERY specific choice. That said I don't know if he's back in directing again, but it should be noted that his visual style + taste in music choices could make a really big impression on viewers if he worked on the series. Additionally, he isn't a stranger for making violent and confrontation films, see The Neon Demon, Drive, Pusher series and God Only Forgives as examples
Cathy Yan
If feels inappropriate to exclude the voices of women in a series like this who's main female characters while not perfect, are certainly MAJOR players in the series. Obviously with Birds of Prey under her belt, I'm sure she can do something unique and interesting with the material.
Chad Stahelski & his production studio 87Noth Productions
This feels like a given, but since NMH (when heavily action orientated) you HAVE to get 87North Productions involved, especially since their crew are able to pull off the sleekest visual and fight choreography style/department. Even if Chad isn't involved himself, it would be great to have 87North involved because they could elevate specific moments from the game into live action (i.e. Travis's entrance to Death Metal's Mansion comes to mind the most.
Robert Rodriguez
The guy literally directed episodes of The Mandalorian & Alita: Battle Angel. I think this guy is pretty qualified to make such a adaptation. He also did Planet Terror which is HEAVILY underrated horror action movie, and it would be fun to see some cool practical effects in a live action NMH film or tv show - just imagine the blood squips and other crazy special practical effects.
Takeshi Miike.
The guy is given a cameo in NMH2, and it feels a bit weird to exclude the guy. He's not a stranger to making shockingly violent films (literally the guy responsible for horror films like Ichi the Killer and Audition) or even adaptions of beloved properties, he made one for Ace Attorney and I heard its actually not that bad. He also does know how to balance comedy with sex and violence, as demonstrated in his 2019 film 'First Love' which while serious is actually good??? idk it's something you need to watch with your own eyes. Just... make sure he's the director and not the writer lol.
That's the directors that I can think of at the moment, but if anyone has other options, be it cast or crew, lmk!
