Tara and Nick, another friendship we don't talk about enough.
It's easy to forget amid all of Harry's taunts and Nick's mates' teasing that Nick and Tara have actually known each other for a long time, that they've already shared some vulnerable moments together, and that all the groundwork for a strong, open friendship was already there, waiting to be built on, when they finally talk again at Harry's party. From that point forward, these two give unwavering support to each other throughout the comics and, though it's a little more understated in season two, throughout the show as well.
They confide in each other constantly, trust each other implicitly, and recognize the parallels in their journeys in a way that allows them to intuit what the other is feeling in many situations. Tara is the first to catch on to Nick's evolving feelings for Charlie, and Nick is the first (other than Darcy, of course) to see how much Tara is struggling with being out. Tara makes herself a safe place for Nick to talk out his anxieties, and Nick makes himself a stalwart support when Tara is at her lowest point of worry over Darcy.
I absolutely cherish this relationship and love it for both of them.
Bonus: It hits me in the feels every time I hear that it's Nick's voice on the phone calling Tara to tell her that Darcy is safe at his place. 🥲
[ID: A captioned Tiktok by @nextdreadpirate. A comment in the middle of the screen says, "Always tip the maid" as a skinny white man trots into the middle of the screen. He's wearing a frilly maid's dress and cap and holding a notebook and pen. The comment disappears as he says, "Hi! Welcome to the maid cafe where we're-" He turns to the right, does the nya hand gesture with each hand, then kicks up a heel, showing off a black pump. "-cuter than kittens!" He finishes, then drops the pose and turns back to face the camera, shuffling a bit closer and leaning in as he talks. "I'm the diversity hire, Bryson. Are you here for the gamer discount?"
A door opens in the background, and Bryson stands up and turns to the left, holding out a warning hand. "Okay, I can explain," he says to people offscreen, starting to laugh. Someone laughingly says, "Oh my god," and another person starts laughing as the video ends. End ID]
this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)
the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)
all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)
you can get a free digital copy of this poster here on my gumroad!
and you can order a print/poster here from my inprnt!
"Originally it was not called 'Good Luck, Babe!', it was called 'Good Luck, Jane!", but my co-writer and I kept getting in arguments about it, so it became 'Good Luck, Babe!'."
CHAPPELL ROAN on 'Good Luck, Babe!'
“Mom, why do you think ghosts are intrinsically evil?”
“It’s what the science says, of course!”
“No, I mean like, what were the studies? What did they actually observe”
“Ohh, I get what you mean, Danny! Well across all reputable reports of encounters with the ghosts strong enough to matter, they’ve always attacked first and never responded to attempts at communication! There’s no reason for them to do that if they’re not evil!”
“Huh…”
…
Danny, learning about Ghost Speak and how humans can’t understand it: hmm.
Danny, learning that ghosts greet each other and bond by fighting: hmmm.
