Bart’s new roommate looks a lot like Tim. 

Like, suspiciously like Tim. 

Danny’s the same height, has the same shape of nose, same shade of hair, and even frowns like him. He would have been a perfect copy if he acted more like Tim, but Danny definitely holds himself looser than Bart’s ever seen Tim. 

But he still has his face. So, obviously, Bart has to investigate. Maybe he’s a clone, or a shapeshifter, or maybe one of the Gotham rogues decided to get facial reconstruction surgery to look like him, and this was all a ploy. 

Okay, probably not that last one. Bart doesn’t think Tim’s enemies know his identity. 

Anyway, investigation! Bart’ll figure this out himself, and deal with it if Danny needs to be dealt with. And the investigation will start right after he comes up with an excuse as to why he’s back in their third floor apartment when he passed Danny in the hallway a few seconds before. 

Danny stares at him, and Bart stares back. 

“Must’ve been a doppelganger!” Bart blurts out. 

Danny’s silent for a second before nodding enthusiastically and noting that everyone's supposed to have like seven in the world anyway and wow what a wild coincidence that there’s one in their building. 

Bart extends the same courtesy when a week later he walks in on Danny with an iced over pan on the stove. Danny says they should really get their freezer checked out and Bart agrees and asks if he can use the ice for a painting study. 

(They never get their freezer checked.)

Bart finds that Danny’s great at setting up fun things for him to draw, whether he knows it or not. Like the ice, or his collection of rocks, his astronomy textbooks with the pretty covers, his gestures as he rants about his classes, the excited glint in his eyes when he’s talking about his next repair project and how his eyes almost look like they glow in the right light. 

Hm. A good portion of his sketchbook is drawings of Danny, and yet he’s still having trouble with getting the right blue for his eyes. At first glance they’re Tim’s shade of blue, but when he keeps looking they seem to get lighter. Maybe greener?

He should probably stop staring into his friend’s eyes. 

Well, maybe not. Danny doesn’t seem to mind. 

Just like he doesn’t mind when they started regularly sitting very close on the couch, or falling asleep together, or Bart borrowing some of his jackets, or-

Okay, Bart’s kinda seeing a pattern. He and Danny should really have a conversation about if this is platonic behavior or not. 

But not right now, because Bart brought Danny across the river to raid Wally’s board game closet in Keystone. 

And Wally, who’s used to this, just passes by them with a, “Hey Bart, hey Tim.”

“Danny, not Tim,” Danny replies almost absent mindedly, then looks back at Wally, who’s also staring at him now. “Wait, you know Tim?”

“OhmyGod I was supposed to investigate!” Bart says, face palming. It just slipped his mind! And Danny was distracting him with his pretty face that he totally wears better than Tim!

“You know him too?” Danny asks. But he doesn’t look suspicious of them, more amused. 

“How do you know him?” Wally squints at Danny, eyes briefly catching Bart’s in question. 

“He’s my twin,” Danny answers easily. “The Drakes only wanted one kid, so they gave me to their friends the Fentons, who wanted a second one.” He shrugs and goes back to digging around the closet. “Tim and I were always in contact, though. Letters and phone calls and texting, you know?” 

He says it all so casually while Wally and Bart are sharing increasingly concerned looks behind his back. 

Do the Waynes know about Danny? Has Tim never brought him up? Why? Does Danny know about Red Robin? Does Tim-

“Holy shit does this mean Tim has ice powers too!?” 

Or: Tim and Danny are twins. Through a series of coincidences, the first people to find out that aren’t Fentons or Drakes are the flashes.

Guys. I really do not have words to express how much I appreciate every single one of you. I started this blog on a whim three (?) years ago without any plan, and I would have never thought I’d get this far. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much.

Since there’s so many people, I think I’ll break my usual cap of 10 questions max, and will have the event running until the end of October! Go crazy go stupid for a whole month (or until people forget and I run out of steam lol) aaaaaaaah!!! Have some very simple rules

I'm still in the middle of finishing up the next update but unfortunately I've got a bit of writer's block with the last scene. So here's a little side story I wrote to help me get a feel for character dynamics.

“So… does anyone know why we’re here?” E is the first to break the silence in the meeting room. The group has been waiting for the past hour after being called suddenly in the middle of their schedule. “I mean, I don’t mind being left in the dark but even I can tell this is weird.”

Their leader hums in agreement. “It is unusual that they didn’t give us any notice about this. Hopefully our manager will clear things up.” They can feel the impatience grow as everyone sneaks glances to the door hoping that some kind of answer will appear. There isn’t much they can say to make the situation better, but they can still feel the pressure on their shoulders to take charge and find some solution for the group. They’re just about to open their mouth to maybe stumble upon the right words to raise the mood when they feel a weight rest on their shoulder.

Looking down, they find that O has moved from their seat to rest their head on them, the weight becoming a grounding comfort to their spiraling mind. They take a deep breath. “I’m sure whatever the reason is, it won’t affect us too much. We’ve been doing well and we’re on schedule with the comeback. Let’s not let the wait get to our heads. Our manager most likely got caught up with something.”

The mood lightens up at their words. O lifts their head to look at the group. “I doubt the news will be too bad. And even if it is, we’ll get through it like usual! So no more bad vibes!”

E matches their grin. “Ever the optimist, O! We should look on the bright side. Maybe we got a sponsorship deal or something.” O’s eyes light up at the suggestion and they get up from their seat to move next to E.

“Oh, or maybe we’re doing a collab!” O says. The pair’s excitement grows as they continue making guesses. X tunes out their conversation and notices that their leader’s shoulders have relaxed the slightest bit. There’s a small relieved smile on their face as they watch the two younger members. X leans in slightly towards them. “It’s going to be okay.” They say quietly. “You don’t need to have an answer for everything.”

The leader sighs. “You’re right. It seems I still have a long way to go before I can really call myself a leader.”

“Just because you’re the leader doesn’t mean you have to carry everything yourself. We’re all here to support you.” X reminds them softly. “Although, I should probably break them up before they raise their expectations too high.” 

The vice-leader turns their attention to E and O. “That’s enough, you two. We only just debuted. The chances of any of those things happening are very low.”

“It’s fun to imagine, though. And we’ll definitely make it happen in the future.” E says with confidence. “We may just be a new group, but we’re definitely going to rise to the top!”

It’s at this moment that Fortune hears the door open and they all turn their head towards the sound. Regardless of what the news will be, this meeting will be a turning point for their careers. For better or for worse.

hi dangantumblr! I recently finished Danganronpa 3 (the anime not V3) and I need a place to organize my thoughts because... Hoo boy... This show was soooo rushed and it really shows. I've put a lot of effort into rewriting some aspects to maybe make more sense!!!

I'm really new to Dangan fandom, so forgive me if i make a mistake, and don't hesitate to correct me if I do! None of my friends like Danganronpa, so I have only my memory and the wiki to rely on in that regard.

I have the absolute angiest idea for a fic that I will not write because I’m already half in tears just thinking about it. Only click the readmore if you want to see me dribbling into an emotional puddle.

Zuko’s lightning injury from Azula during Sozin’s Comet was just a bit worse. Katara finishes the Agni Kai with furious tears in her eyes because she knows that the blow was lethal. There is nothing mortal hands can do to save him. But Agni is at his highest power in a hundred years and he knows Zuko’s destiny is to lead the Fire Nation out of war. He cannot die here. A sunbeam concentrates on him while the women fight and suddenly Zuko sits up, perfectly healed with a streak of gold in his hair, bright as a sunbeam. Distracted by her brother’s miraculous recovery, Katara subdues the Fire Princess.

The war is over, everyone lived and there is much celebration.

Until Zuko is hurt during an attempted assassination just a few months after his coronation, not enough to be fatal but enough to add more gold to his hair. That’s when the others realize that the spirits gifts to do not come without cost. Zuko lived to be crowned and as the literal embodiment of Agni’s will on Earth, it is his duty to help pull the Fire Nation back from the brink. But age and injury will slowly sap away his humanity until he will return the life he was given to the sun.

Everyone is devastated. Sokka especially does not take this well. He was just starting to move past Yue, starting to imagine a life in the Fire Nation alongside Zuko. And now he’s going to lose a second love to the spirits. Zuko is hurt but understanding of the distance his friends, his love, give him. He is well used to losing the things he loves. Ever since he died and was reborn, he’s felt different. The gold streaked hair is the most obvious but his eyes take on an extra golden hue. His firebending is now effortlessly powerful and suddenly he has to work on tamping down the raw power he feels under his skin.

Every day that passes, every new golden hair that appears, he feels a little less human, a little more ethereal and he tries to be strong and grateful for the time he has. Mostly, though, he’s scared. Every evening at sunset, he prays to Agni for one more day, just one. He has to settle this trade agreement, he has to help celebrate Toph’s birthday, he needs to hear the swipe of his swords cutting through the air just one more time. Zuko is living on borrowed time and is determined to make the most of it.

One day, Sokka returns, storms into the Fire Palace with steady, tear-filled eyes. He didn’t get time with Yue, he had no warning when she was suddenly taken from him leaving with regrets of what could have been. But Zuko is still here and Sokka will not waste any more of those precious, dwindling days. He pulls his love close, tucking golden fringe out of his eyes. Sokka cannot promise or expect forever, all he wants is here and now.

Assassinations and injuries still happen, sometimes severe enough that Zuko is unconscious. He wakes up during those times in the Spirit World, more gold appearing in his hair as he waits and wonders if this is the last time. Sometimes he sees his familly in the Spirit World. Sometimes he meets them in the wrong order. I want a scared, suspicious Sokka trapped by Hai Bai in the Spirit World eyeing the Fire Prince who’s older, calmer, has streaks of gold in his hair and looking at Sokka with such soft, loving eyes. A younger, grieving Iroh meets a burned, golden haired spirit on his spiritual journey who offers tea and advice. He feels a new wave of grief for this nameless man he will not place for many years. I want Aang to yell after Azula’s lightning, to rage at an older Zuko for letting it happen, for letting Ba Sing Se fall. All Zuko can do is apologize and hold his friend close and pray they both wake up. While Aang sleeps in the iceberg, sometimes he hears whispers of a friend, warm as a candlelight. If he were able to open his eyes, he’d see love and attentiveness and hair so gold he barely looks human. Zuko, at the end of his life, tells Aang just at the beginning of his that they’ll see each other soon.

Years, decades pass and Zuko’s black hair is almost entirely replaced by gold. He’s having a hard time staying aware and present in the physical world. He’s done so much good, helped save the soul of his people, raised a fine, generous Fire Lord to carry on his legacy. The work Agni saved his life for is done. His last day on Earth is a joyful filled with love, friends, family and contentment. He does not pray for one more day because he knows he will not get it. The sun sets that day and so too does Zuko, disappearing into the fading sunbeams.

There is grief butt also gratefulness that they had so long, time they did not expect to have. The sun gleams in the sky, lighting the way for future generations. He laughs with Yue over silly things, mostly Sokka and welcomes each of his friends to the Spirit World. And when a new, bright eyed Avatar enters the Spirit World and finds an old man with kind eyes, an old burn scar and long flowing golden hair, they know that they are in the company of a friend.
