finally watched nimona and oh my fucking god??? i love this???? seriously this movie is so so good please watch itttttt

#jjba #jolyne cujoh #jojo's bizarre adventure #stone ocean #deliart #if u guys only KNEW the amount of reworking this artwork had #i began working on it in fall and it had completely different flowers planned bc of that #but as february came i changed it to spring flowers and decided to cast a wide net with different blooms #bc i knew i was gonna procrastinate even further due to the hassle of lining the knit patterns #and when i finished it there were still cherry blossoms where i live so. but as im posting it they have ofcourse finished blooming.#i was sooo close to changing it again to like. bird cherry blossoms or lilac (which are currently blooming here) smh #i might make a fall version for this later though #bc im a little partial to the initial color palette i had. the outfit was gonna be red and the image darker overall #.. anyway putting this in scheduled posts since ill forget it in the drafts forever otherwise

james bond! what a concept! lots to discuss about wrt james bond. imperialist anxieties around legacy and decay, the shift in the movies from imagination of the futuristic to luxury branding as identity, etc. etc. endless topics for discussing in there.

and uhhhhh. so You Only Live Twice is a mess, but it's kind of fun talking about why it's such a mess. however. HOWEVER. Benson's Blast From The Past? ohhhhhhhhhhh the hate-hate relationship I have with that one, I've been frustrated with it for ten years and it's not even fun to talk about why it's frustrating lmao.

that said, James Suzuki has all the same pieces that have me obsessed with Metal Gear's Kazuhira Miller. so. well!! this is hell and I'm stuck in it.

anyway, extremely canon divergent AU or something where James Suzuki doesn't get killed off like a cheap plot device and we get really REALLY gnarly about the family stuff and the US gov't. also there's industrial espionage, insider trading, & a briefcase that everyone wants.

BUT IM JUST THINKING ABOUT IN THE MOMENT OF IT ALL bc in the same chapter #ww asks for a chance for tomorrow and then gets news of earth ships coming. in this same arc vash is thinking of all the things he needs to #resolve so his home doesn't get attacked so the people he love doesn't have to die and the humans he wants to protect gets to live.#i feel like deep down they both semi-recognize that it can't be this easy and regardless of earth ships coming- there's still a wait for #them to arrive and they have to hold out. and regardless ww still has a mission to follow through and vash knows knives would find out #but in that mood of celebration the entire ship brought in - they can at least let themselves relax for a moment and indulge #how they basically engaged with no violence for the few days they were on that ship coaxing them into domesticity... i feel like their #thoughts would wander to somewhere soft and all #allowing them to push aside the tiptoeing and tenseness and be sweet for a night #ruporas art

actually there's a huge difference between queerbaiting/"Hey guys look how gay these two are haha they're definitely gonna end up together, give us views uwu oh- never mind oops they're going to superhell" and "Hey it's 2004-2012 and there's no way we can get away with having our protags/main couple be two gay men but we really want to show these two are soulmates so we'll do it through subtext and underlying messages and by literally telling you over and over again their relationship is the most stable and important in the entire show, and the ending will imply they lived and died together", and it's insane that some of yall don't see how these two are not the same fucking thing.

listening to one direction tonight, i was a little afraid it would make me sad. a week ago, it probably would have as i couldnt make myself do it until now. but tonight, more than anything, i just feel so grateful. as cliché as it might sound, music really is forever!!!! it’s a time capsule, holding onto these songs, these memories, these feelings. we will ALWAYS have one direction, ALWAYS have the music that shaped us and brought us so much joy. it’s comforting to know that no matter what, these songs will ALWAYS be here, like a piece of them and a piece of us, preserved forever. and fuck that makes me so happy.
