Cooking up an older Clervie outfit design so I don't have to keep drawing her looking like her child self but Long

#genshin impact #clervie #ngl i have so many thoughts about an older clrv's design but at the same time artistically im not that creative </3 #mostly tried to make her look more like a direct contrast to arlecchino's design (which was already present but we ignore that)#cause arle's design is mostly very sharp and angular while i'd imagine clervie's being much more rounded out and softer #like they are the round vs pointy cat meme in human form #the hair was really tricky cause on one hand much like everyone else we dont really keep the same hairstyle our entire lives #butttttt at the same time idk i feel like her long hair flowing down (and her headband) are very recognizable parts of her #so i decided to not change much (also cause i dont trust myself making multiple drastic changes without changing their identity too much)#also halfways through coloring I realized she's kinda giving crucabena outfit wise but we ignore that </3 #anyways clervie would def be a support/healer character if actually playable (leaning more towards buffer support imo)#ITS A MASSIVE 50/50 IF SHE WOULD BE A HYDRO OR ANEMO USER but i decided hydro for the time being cause it compliments HOTH's dpses more #aka Arlecchino Lyney and partially Freminet since if i remember correctly he's more physical based but cryo nonetheless #i just really like the idea of Clervie's passive being along the lines of boosting stats/dmg if there's HOTH members present in a team #anyways sorry for the text wall I just really need to be kicked out of the kitchen #i am UNDERCOOKING the food #character design is not my passion </3

It was Maid Day today yesterday a week ago so I got struck by inspiration to draw the worsties, and it ran away from me into a whole AU where they’re coworkers at a maid cafe. She’s a med student & this is just a part time job, and this is his depression job while he gets his life back together. He needs something he can be workaholic about to forget what it’s like having a personal life and personal issues. He’s actually the accountant, but the new hire janitor (Izutsumi) doesn’t show up for half her shifts and is a sloppy worker, so he gets the extra work of doing her job on top of his because he’s undervalued and overworked. Of course, janitors also have an uniform to keep the aesthetic cohesion as they go about cleaning the place, of course.

Senshi’s the part time cook you only see slivers off, he’s kind and warm when you do see him and have a chat but most shifts he’s in and out the kitchen without a trace. Laios and Falin are regulars because Falin and Marcille are besties & in the same med school, Laios accompanies Falin as she visits her friend at work and gets hooked on the food. Chilchuck has to remind Marcille to work instead of chatting with Falin for an hour, and next thing he knows she’s distracting him from work too. That’s it that’s the AU. Inspired by this idol AU fanart a bit <3

#tloz #princess zelda #link #four swords adventures #art #my art #redesign #loz redesigns round 2 #this link and zelda went through so many changes i swear #but yeah when differentiating between the f-s and fsa sprites there arent many differences #zeldas sprite being slightly warmer and having a slightly different hairstyle #and losing the cape and just generally a bunch of details #meanwhile link just has slightly longer ears #so when debating what to do with link i decided this one would have a white tunic with a dark undershirt #being rgb additive and subtractive #i figured it made sense for it to fit this link as he had the longer adventure #so he has a more visible change from using the four sword more/for longer #whereas i just gave f-s link multicolored tinting to his tunic-vest #so f-s has the more traditional coloring but less traditional outfit #i figured it was a fair trade-off #and seeing as they have a longer/harder journey theyre also older than the f-s pair #which is also why i traded the bow in zeldas hair out for a crescent hair fork

if there's one [1] thing i will be forever grateful for in the internet era it's the vast variety and availability of pose / anatomy references supplied by photographers and models

i can go online and find PERFECT references for how fat folds crease the skin or how muscles wrap around the body and as someone who habitually draws most of his OCs ~modestly lean~ and wants to hone his skill in other body types, it is literally a godsend to have those refs so readily available

seriously, thank you all models and photographers for providing me the resources i need to expand my art skills i owe u my life

#drawing other body types is important to me #not just for my own Art Skill but for my audience and clients too #i've seen many a post in my many years on the internet of people saddened for not seeing themselves or their OCs represented in artists wor #esp when it comes to fat characters when it comes to body types #and i can imagine it's Super hard when you wanna comm someone but you're worried they'll slim down your OC #and regardless of whether the artist does it intentionally or not - it still sucks!!#i have a couple OCs - one fat and one meant to be kinda strong-bulky and i wanna use them more for example art #i also wanna play more with different skintones and hairstyles so i think i may make some human OCs to work on those with #ppl have called my art godly / called me an art god and while i'm iffy on being called some kind of god in any sense [despite the username]#i can only ever hope to live up to that praise by having my audience feel properly represented when i draw something that relates to them #obligatory mention that the username is solely bc of an OC of mine who i love dearly

I'm getting ready to post my second Flea-inspired Funk-Rock OC Jake, but I'm a little worried that he may be too similar to Hed because of his hair color, skin color, and the fact that he has dreads he wasn't born with. Here's Jake's color palette:

I shifted Jake's bare skin color to be closer to Reuben's but I'm still worried about it being too similar to Hed's.

I totally understand this struggle! Especially rock trolls have such a limited set of colors. It's either shades of gray or desaturated browns and greens, basically rock/earth colors, and hair is either black or white (or pale blond) and maybe some bright reds, blues, neon greens because those are punk. and that's it. 😞 (I am not upset by this btw, but it does pose a real challenge sometimes)

But in the end there's so many other factors that make troll characters unique besides the colors and hair shape. Same as how we are all unique even though we're much more limited in both of these departments haha

If you're worried I'll take his design the wrong way, don't be, but if you're uncomfortable with the similarities, maybe think if they really feel similar (vibes) or if they look related. If you still have a problem but like the color palette, maybe give this OC a different hair style? (I don't mean not give him dreads, just different shape/length) or make something unique a prominent feature on him. idk, I'm just giving ideas. But you can keep that color palette, I don't own color palettes :P
