Azul had been fascinated by the idea of soulmates as a young mer

it was something that gave him hope, that despite all the other mean mers who would make fun of him, there was someone out there who would understand him and love him

and so he kept drawing on his arm, doodles of shells and other fish that caught his eye

but there wasn't any response.

maybe his doodles were too ugly and his soulmate didn't like them?

and so he learned to draw better, drawing again and again, hoping he would get a response

but still not a single mark would appear on him

it had been a tough blow to him, but he eventually accepted that he didn't have a soulmate

if he was going to be alone for all his life, then he had to take care of himself (because nobody would)

he became super greedy and selfish, always prioritising himself and his materialistic needs

although he also had a friendship with the tweels, he really only befriended them because they could help him out (but he did get attached to them over time)

and so, he opened the mostro lounge and became the sly businessman that we all know

on the first day of his second year, as he was going over documents after closing the lounge, he felt a slight tingle in his hand

Azul's eyebrow rose in response to an unexpected sensation. A peculiar warmth, like a gentle caress, emanated from the back of his gloved hand. Intrigued, he swiftly removed his gloves, revealing smooth, pale skin. A gasp of astonishment escaped his lips as his eyes fell upon a minuscule masterpiece, a tiny, adorable octopus delicately inked in pen.

"Is this...real?" Azul murmured, his voice tinged with disbelief. A surge of hope surged through his entire being, dispelling the weight that had burdened him for far too long.

With a trembling hand, he grasped his own pen and cautiously began to sketch his own octopus upon his wrist, with one tentacle reaching out, holding hands with your octopus.

And he can't stop he smile that graces his lips when a little heart appears between the two octopi.

What a hectic day it had been! For a magicless student to arrive in NRC and for him to finally connect with his soulmate!

Oh. Azul had to speak to said magicless student as soon as possible.

when the two of you start being a couple, Azul does everything and anything for you

when you're in exams and your nervously doodling sea creatures, he'll draw some flowers nearby to help calm you down

no he doesn't help you cheat by writing you the answers, he's already given you the perfect study materials, you shoud put in some effort too

he gets jealous if you draw other sea creatures too much though, especially moray eels

he lets you work at the lounge with a very high pay, making sure you're not working too hard, and always offers to tutor you if you're struggling

his soulmate had to go to a different world just to find him, you'll be sure he helps to settle in and hopefully never leave again

Insert clingy octopus wrapping his tentacles all around you because he can't bare to let you go

when you have dates and appointments, he'll help remind you by writing on his arm

this man has waited for you his entire life, he's ready to lay the world down at your feet if you ask him to

4.) When did you become a fan of TMNT?

When I was super young, I’m talking like three years old young. I really liked the ‘87 reruns and as a dinosaur kid I liked that the turtles were vaguely dino-like to baby me haha

18.) Who is your favorite villain?

Hmmm I’m not done with the show yet, but it may just be 2012 Shredder. There’s something really insidious but human about him that I enjoy.

If she counts as one then Rise April! If she’s in her own category then probably Draxum?

27.) What is something you love to see in TMNT art/fics?

Honestly I adore when people put in little details from the show that are ultimately fluff text but add a whole lot of depth and character in subtle ways. (Example being making Donnie affectionately pet Mikey’s head as he did in Bug Busters)

28.) What is one thing you would like to see explored more in TMNT art/fics?

Hmmm, I guess exploring the flaws of characters that aren’t just Leo and Splinter and occasionally Donnie? I love my boy Leo, and I really love how his flaws make him so interesting and fun to write about, but at the same time I feel like the others have their own flaws completely wiped away or not given a lot of focus. Mikey especially I feel could use some attention in this regard, so I love seeing whenever he’s allowed to make mistakes too because it adds so much more depth to him.

33.) What is your favorite thing you've made for TMNT?

Hard question!! Honestly it depends on the day, but right now it’s actually the super quick sketch I made for the 40th anniversary comic haha! I also miss my Prison!Leo AU and really need to get back to it…

35.) Which character relationships are your favorite to write/draw?

It depends I think! Obviously, I love Leo to the moon and back so they’re all Leo dynamics (though I need to do more Donnie and April stuff too because I adore their dynamic as well), but it depends on the tone I’m going for in regard to what’s my favorite.

But if I absolutely had to pick, maybe either Splinter and Leo or Raph and Leo.

We decided this happens like right before the Big Plot Shit happens in the AU and instead of being a festival it's Hermie's Birthday !!! The cursed riddlebook is a gift from Scam that Hermie gives to Scary instead bc he doesn't rlly care about it, which . turns out to be a very bad idea. The curse quickly spreads throughout the school reversing everyone's personalities and causing Normal to try and pretty much end the world.

This arc is Hermie and Taylor focused !!! :D Although it is really fun to think about the reverse teens running rampant NWVEGWHAAHA reverse norm is a little treat for me <3 but reverse Link is SO INCREDIBLY FUNNY . shoutout to this message from @happi-tree bc it's been burned into my memory and I cant stop laughing about it

When it comes to the curse we decided that bonds and skills stay the same but the personalities are inverted, which means reverse Scary being sooo attached and clingy to Hermie is just her personality changing the way she decides to communicate her affection for who she sees as her best friend. Its cute <3

Herm is SUPER on edge due to being incredibly irritated with his dad and feeling insecure about his friendship with Taylor, who's having a bit of a crisis on his own about his feeling about Link. Toss in their shared homesickness for Wonderland, a realm they can't go back to, and Taylor panicking over a gift his mom left him going missing, well it's not good for anyone. How are they gonna figure things out enough to save Ever After from destruction?

Coming back to yet another version of this au, my favorite flavore, yes. Something about this Luffy running around natural disasters and burning buildings has me wild. And ofc Law as the workaholic never slowing down, and with one foot in the grave, until something convinces him to care about his own health. YUM, So, anyway, onto the plot haha

Rescue EMT!Luffy is always on call during night shifts at the hospital. He's 20 and has boundless energy.

Law, the son of the previous hospital admin, and in his last year of yet another med degree, works nights to pay off his debts. He has no family, and the few friends he has are miles away.

Law is functioning on at least ten coffees and at least 2 energy drinks, his last solid 8 hours of sleep was years ago. He doesn't even remember people can do that.

The hospital is usually empty, which is super boring for Luffy, and he is usually allowed to wander until Ace pages him that it is time to go. But Ace is out and much to his annoyance, he is on phones.

Law usually hangs around in the employee lobby during breaks, it has comfortable chairs and the best internet. He keeps his pager on the table if any patients need him, or there is an emergency. Despite his age, Law is the best Doctor they have on staff, trained in just about everything as he never slows down.

Ace tends to leave Law alone unless the other wants to talk about new theories in medicine and how they apply in the field. Law finds himself lacking in field medicine, so he always wants to know more.

Luffy has never in his life left anyone he finds interesting alone. Luffy starts interrogating Law about his tattoo's, and how come he is allowed to keep them? He thought the hospital had strict cause, Ace has to cover his up when he's on shift. Luffy has his own but his uniform covers it. Ace barely bothers to wear his uniform.

Law ignores his question, partially because he can't get a word in between Luffy's chattering. He barely manages to say his name, which is promptly shortened to Traffy. He gives up at that point, going back to his books, without much luck.

See, Luffy is not boring enough to tune out. The way he talks and the stories he tells are interesting. Law forgets his school work and listens, giving a piece of his mind here and there. It does not take him long to find the flow in Luffy's waterfall of words. The odd phone call barely distracts as he pauses to read out the hospital provided script with his own flare, before going back to rattling about whatever they stopped on.

This is the most Law has talked in years. It is almost a shame when his pager rings to call him back to work.

Luffy starts taking phones more often, much to the surprise of everyone, but he really just wants to talk to Traffy.

Night becomes more berable, and Law finds he needs less caffeine to stay awake, as he looks forward to the talks with Luffy, and that fuels him more than even he expects.

Luffy takes every chance to invite Traffy to go out on the town with his friends.

Law says no, he has to go to class right after work, so he needs those two hours of sleep, there is no time for clubbing or whatever Luffy plans to do (its boardgames, the strawhats 100% have boardgame nights)

Luffy says, "Okay, next time, Traffy!" Every time.

Law nods "Next time" That is how they part every night.

Until there is not a next time. Luffy doesn't show up for work one day. He said he would, even if it wasn't on phones, he'd stop by when he can, Luffy has never broken a promise to hang out. So when he doesn't show and neither does his older brother, Law is frantic with panic, but he doesn't even know Luffy's phone or his full name. For all their talk, he knows nothing about Luffy.

One day passes, then two, then a week. Nobody really knows anything about Luffy at the hospital either. They say he is a nice kid and fun to be around with all his energy, but thats it.

He is even more of a mess than usual when he finally finds out. Courtesy of a blonde that showed up in the hospital by climbing through the lobby window, which is on the fourth floor. The man had burn scars across half his body and said his name was Sabo

He informed Law that there was an explosion and that Luffy was trapped in rubble for a few days but he only just woke up and is asking for Law, he's in another hospital not far from here.

Law wastes not time, grabbing his coat and id, leaving everything else behind.

Sabo's car is a battered blue thing that complains at just being on the road, with every wild turn. Law holds on for dear life until they pull up to a tiny little whole in the wall that he would not call a hospital. Yet inside everything looks state of the art.

Even the hospital they work in, considered the best in the city, can't afford the machines Luffy is hooked up to.

Luffy jumps up in the bed as soon as he sees Traffy, almost pulling out his IV if not the firm hand stopping him. Ace is not as injured as Luffy but has clearly been through it.

"I'll leave you two, but you hurt my brother, and you'll be in a bed right next to him," Ace warns as he passes.

Law ignores him. He does not know what to say, at a loss for words. He thought he lost Luffy, and that scare, like many others in his life, reminds him of just how fragile they are as humans. He almost lost another person he cared about, without even voicing it.

So he does, looking down at the floor, not wanting to face any sign of rejection.

"I love you to Traffy!" Luffy's smile is bright, not any less vibrant even with the new scar across his cheek. He pulls Law closer.

Their lips brush, the kiss is soft and full of desire, as though they have both been waiting for this since they first met.

Law does not leave Luffy's side after that, not even when Ace or Sabo try to chase him out to make him get something to eat.

Luffy knows so many people and is never alone. Another blonde, a younger man who always flirts with the receptionist (Robin), starts bringing food to Law as well, without a word picking up on things he does not like.

For the first time in a long time, it feels as Law is part of a family again, and it is all thanks to that one chance encounter with Luffy.

Mostly RWRB these days, but the majority of my back catalogue is Schitt’s Creek, with a few others sprinkled in for fun. The Pairing definitely made my brain whirr… we’ll see.

Heck yeah I have. I’ve done several anthology-type collaborations where we each wrote a chapter in a fic, and I’ve fully cowritten fics with @ships-to-sail several times. We have another collab coming up for @aroyallybigbangrwrb and I’m also cowriting The Big Secret AU with @indestructibleheart which is essentially us one-upping each other on emotionally devastating ideas until someone writes them down. Good system 😂

Schitt’s Creek kinkverse… I don’t know. I have little snippets written of future fics and they’re great but… idk. Maybe I’ll write one vignette-y wrap up fic one day.

What are your writing strengths?

Narrative POV, dialogue that feels like the characters, epistolary bullshit, smut apparently.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Coming up with actual plot lmao. Visual descriptors — I’m not even remotely a visual person so I really really struggle with writing the sorts of things people can visualise. Also like… the passage of time? A scam.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

Love it. I’ll shoulder tap a fluent speaker if I need an actual sentence/anything Google isn’t super reliable for. Forever heartbroken that there are no fics in my second language in AO3 and no reason for me to be able to sprinkle it into my own writing (though one of the subscriber shindig prompts might be about to change that 👀)

In college AU by the time you and Nai meet you both are young (obviously, you’re in college, duh) and you’re both not super experienced in romance so jealousy is like mildly new territory (Nai especially LMAO) so when he feels a pang in his chest when you’re bantering with Wolfwood on a side that’s a bit too friendly for his liking?

Nick’s arm is slung around you as he tries to take a selfie with Meryl’s Polaroid, the girl attempting to jump to reach it as Milly observes. Vash is attempting to calm the situation- ever the peacemaker.

You’re laughing and amused all the while, smile painting your lips as you pose for a photo. You’re so happy with them it’s almost aggravating, ugh. Can you all just take it outside of the apartment? Nai has to hide away in his room, Snuggie wrapped around him in his little grove when you’re all here. A scowl is apparent as he scoffs, moving to his room with a few snide remarks muttered under his breath. He won’t ruin his brother’s fun though, he’s had trouble making friends in the past. So not to say he loathes you all, rather… you’re not preferable choice in company.

That’s what helps him sleep at night (when he does choose to sleep, at least).

In reality: does Wolfwood have a crush on you? No. You guys are just friends that mess around and chill out. But why should Nai care? You’re just another one of Vash’s friends who he happens to study with on occasion. That is all. All it will ever be.

He attempts to hide his glare as he stands and walks towards his room.

Nai is a tennis champion, both him and Vash are practically campus celebrities. Both handsome, single, athletic, smart- Vash is well known and liked by everyone.

Nai though? HAH. Haha you’re funny. He’s well known. Respected enough. But he’s made it plenty clear kegstands and partying into the ungodly hours of night on a fucking Tuesday isn’t really his cup of tea. In fact it’s not even a cup at his table. (In this hypothetical cup scenario).

People oftentimes throw themselves at him, flocking to the handsome guy who’s far too beautiful to be human, tone and leaned muscle with a sharp jaw and cunning remarks. This girl was no different.

You knew of her, she was far more bold than you and was a relatively good student. Seemed nice enough.

You couldn’t hold it against her to take a liking to Knives as her hips swayed, eyes bright and flickering up to his. Normally, Nai wouldn’t go to the cafeteria, however Vash had wanted to grab a snack from a friend who worked here (they had donuts today) (curse him and his sweet tooth, ugh)

You sat with some other friends of yours, checking your phone for any notifications before turning to see her chatting with him. With his face away from you, you couldn’t see his obvious disinterest, although he was presumably like that with everyone, right? You have no idea why you’re watching so intently for someone who you can hardly call an acquaintance- he’s just a guy you sometimes exchange notes with.

Something unpleasant settles in your chest as your eyebrows furrow, looking down to your phone once more to forcefully distract yourself. It’s weird to stare like that, ahem.

And maybe you feel a tinge of guilt as he brushes past her to Vash, who’s 3 doughnuts richer now that his friend gave him “the goods”, a bead of something swelling in your chest.

Vash is perceptive as always.

He says nothing though, following Nai who takes brisk strides once more out of the noisy cafeteria, head almost buzzing from how overwhelming the noise can get for both of them.

All of these come with the caveat that it has to be well-written, basically. The older I get the less patience I have for stuff that's low-effort or just not to my taste hshhd. However, I see the tiers as something where I can pretty easily be convinced to read fic with tier S tropes, whereas getting me to enjoy a tier D fic would be difficult... Anyway, comments on individual tropes:

pwp - The best kind is where it's unapologetic kinky sex but a somewhat plausible scenario that's deeply in-character (or at least tries to be) >:))

a/b/o - This is a very very mixed bag for me... Contrary to what many people say, I don't actually enjoy plotty longfics (or the idea of reading longfics) talking about the societal aspects/worldbuilding implications of it. Also, the more focus there is on um... animal traits.... the less into it I am HFDHFHHJ. BUT I've sometimes liked the work of mandarin language todolf oneshot fanfic writers on ao3... soulmate au - I know this is super controversial for how it portrays relationships, but I actually find it okay :D When I read them I always interpret it as taking place in a much more deterministic world than our own... and I actually think that pure angst fics about the premise are rather interesting too. But I do think it has to be done quite well to work!

Royalty au - I'm such a whore about historical research so this has the potential to really irritate me xDD And for my current main fandom activities it's redundant... But idk, it's fine I think.

Fluff - This is one I've changed my mind on quite a bit over the years, namely in terms of actually kind of disliking pure fluff nowadays. I really prefer hurt/comfort and other fics where there are some stakes at play, or fics where the "fluff" is actually straight up emotional abuse HSDHDSHDHFSH (it's ok you can say todolf<33). It's just a lot more exciting to have setup + payoff vs pure fluff. I don't really experience the urge to read fluff fic as a response to the original media being emotionally charged/sad, I want fix-it fics to start from the standpoint of that negative emotion and have ups and downs before getting to the happy ending!

Crossover - hate crossovers where characters from multiple unrelated media interact, do sometimes enjoy crossovers where characters from y are in the universe of x (or experience a phenomenon from x). I mean, I've written a tdv au ahshshsh so I can't complain too much xD

Pregnancy fic, baby fic - no. This is a very hard if not impossible sell for me. I've written a longfic where the main characters have kids during it, but I never focused on the pregnancy and baby parts per se. I just don't like it haha

High school au, fairytale au, college au, coffee shop au, amnesia fic - I do NOT understand the appeal of any of these lmao

Humor, crack fic - Has to be done really well to work and most of the time it just doesn't for me ajdjjsjd. Humor is so personal and individual, and a conscious attempt to be funny as the main point of a fic falls flat so easily...... I like witty writing, but crack fic per se doesn't work for me unless it's crack treaten extremely seriously (implausible tropes and scenarios can be fun!! Buuut I do have pretty high standards for suspension of disbelief hshsdjdj. So it needs a lot of work put into it basically)

So, before I say anything else;

I apologize, I don't have very much for it-- definitely no plot-- because I kind of started falling out of RWBY a little bit shortly before I started working on it, and because it was part of a contest entry I kind of just crashed and burned after I finished them haha

So! With that out of the way;

Let me first share with you just the design lineup I made because looking back at the post I can see I only shared the character drawings

Aaaand I can tell you that while I was working on it, the piece of Alice In Wonderland I kept thinking about was the queen of hearts and the red roses

In my head, the thing that made Ruby special wasn't her silver eyes, it was being a naturally red rose-- the only red rose left (because Ruby & Yang are flower people-- Yang is a snapdragon)

And the change happened within their lifetime-- or-- I suppose, within their current ascensions

It was going to be a whole thing that Weiss and Blake didn't realize that Ruby was always red, because its been a thing with other roses to "paint themselves red"

Because red roses were excellent warriors

So it wasn't uncommon to try to be perceived as red

Weiss has vague memories of other red roses from when this ascension was young, as many were on the red king/prince's guard-- perhaps she even has memories of them teaching her things

So Weiss doesn't really take kindly to roses painting themselves red, and it's part of why when everyone initially meets she's not super fond of Ruby

I can yell you that Ruby and Yang come from the garden acre, where they've essentially been working on a farm & protecting it from any threats or harm

And Weiss obviously comes from the king's acre, where she's been on the red king/prince's personal guard

And Blake from one of the uncharted acres, but similar to the curious cat, she just vibes across every acre-- if she had a particular job, no one really knows what it was

The 4 of them came together as a team due to the rise of jabberwalker attacks-- they take on a role similar to the grim in the world of remnant that we know

I dont think they attended school for it though, Afterans hardly stay themselves ling enough to go to school for it

Also toying with the idea that team RWBY was a "friendship lasting more than one lifetime" kind of deal, but

I never really settled on whether to roll with that or have it be that things were by complete chance

(Because if it was, Weiss remembering red roses from her Younger days could have TOTALLY been Ruby's previous ascension, and that could be super cool, but also, super complicated which is why I never really settled)

Oh! I can also tell you that Yang lost her arm to a jabberwalker

And that Blake can turn into a little kitty cat

In theory, Blake can do all the things the curious cat can-- she either chooses not to, or doesn't know how

oh i ADORE this idea so much!!! arghhh i love astrea family dynamics so much and i really really like each member - though of course i hope we learn more about louanna soon!!! im so curious about her and everyone in the family BUT her is at least decently fleshed out already!! but yes okay this idea is great and also Everyone in these reddit threads have brainstormed all kinds of ideas for Other Astrea Members Falling Comatose (heinkel, reinhard, theresia, or wilhelm) far far better than i could so if anyone seeing this hasnt seen those i highly recommend reading!! super fun ideas going on <3

but yeah my quick two cents on heinkel specifically going comatose is that, like people have mentioned in those threads that stuff would happen differently. marcos doesnt rejoin the royal guard, reinhard probably doesnt get the dp of mind changing, wilhelm might die to the whale instead since heinkel isnt around to get sent on a suicide mission and wilhelm Would Not Back Down from that, etc etc. or did theresia get sent to kill the whale right away while wilhelm like in canon went to deal with the royal family?? that sort of thing.

i think ultimately we dont 100% know what would happen on the louanna side of things just because. we dont know anything about how she was as a person hah so hard to predict!! but i think things would probablyy turn out a little better given everything i just mentioned. and also the bar for how canon went is super low anyway aljsdfl. but yeah i mean louanna seems like she might cope a little better (i mean. shes Probablyy not the type to fall into alcoholism right haha). or she might Also Cope Badly, depending on how you wanna interpret this. and depending on how louanna turns out to be as a person. and Someone is still gonna die to the whale probably. so things are Not That Great and also heinkel being comatose means he wont be head of the house. louanna in this situation either way would need to take charge - both in the sense that uh, in the end it'll just be her and one of reinhard's grandparents left around, and also in the sense that she is reinhards only parent left now. and also reinhard Might get a bit more pressure to hurry into the royal guard sooner. he'll get compared to his comatose MIA dad im sure :(( esp since heinkel is. frozen in time.

theres Always something chilling about how in canon, long term sleeping beauty syndrome victims are just. Stuck. in time. forever frozen. never aging a single day from the moment they were gone. thats Haunting. thats like living with a ghost thats still there. and in this au itd be heinkel!! heinkel whos still at his prime and hasnt truly had a permanent failure yet (losing his mom to the whale, losing louanna to a coma, etc etc), and of course like canon heinkel, louannas left to pick up the pieces which is always really sad to me :(( she and heinkel were young too when all of this started to go wrong T^T like Still Adults, of course, but still young!! like shes 21 and hes 22 T^TT wild stuff.

also i do agree with people who said that louanna might just wack reinhard over the head for kidnapping felt like that. 1000%.

anyway!!! astrea family drama still goes Wrong i think somehow, in another font, if heinkel or anyone else is the one that gets put into a coma :(( it might be better or worse depending on what happens!! and depending on who gets comatose and who Dies!! but yes i think everything goes a bit wrong either way :(( they can never win T^T but itd shift dynamics around every time which is the fun part!!

I've got it in my head that Gilbert, Roderic, and Dahlia are in a very happy throuple. Originally it's because I shipped Rodbert, and as that continued to grow I figured out how to work that in with my shipping of Gil/Dahlia.

See, some people are super cool where they create OCs for different LIs, and I kind of don't. Sure, I have a few different OCs who are paired with different characters, but for the most part I just kind of ship the same OCs with different people depending on the AU in my head. Dahlia is in a polycule with several Rhodolite princes, but in a different timeline, Dahlia is just with Gilbert - although this is about their throuple, so I can't say "just" Gilbert.

Anyways, I was plagued with thoughts of the three of them being happy and having some fluffy fun times. But I haven't really established how it all came together. In my writing so far, it's complicated at best. Haha.

Roderic’s and Dahlia's relationship grows in odd spurts and starts. Their relationship is odd to begin with. Dahlia being wedded to Gilbert, and the Empress of Obsidian, and Roderic being Gilbert's closest aide in the public eye. Behind closed doors, Roderic plays lover to the Emperor, and future lover to the Empress.

Dahlia wasn’t aware of Roderic’s and Gilbert's previous relationship when she and Gilbert initiated their engagement. And technically, they weren't really in a relationship, just companions that found relief in each other's company. When Dahlia came into the picture, Roderic was excluded from the physical intimacy he used to share with Gilbert. He understood. Their time together always held an expiration date.

But then he was invited into their bed. Under the premise of “training” to keep Dahlia happy after Gilbert's passing. Their session turned into the two in love with Gilbert sharing him instead of Dahlia being the focal point. There were no complaints from any party about this. 

Dahlia and Roderic continued to bond over their mutual love for Gilbert, and in becoming closer, they learned about other shared interests. Roderic helps Dahlia with embroidery. Dahlia teaches Roderic to bake. A lull would crop up between their interactions due to a certain possessive husband, and then almost as if in apology, Gilbert would put them back together for some minor task. 

Gilbert refuses to put a name to his feelings for Roderic, but Roderic confides in Dahlia about his love for Gilbert. It's clear that without her intervention, Roderic would remain the outsider in their relationship, only allowed to visit from time to time. And while that might work for some, Dahlia wants Gilbert to be showered in as much love as possible, so she decides to meddle.

(a second batman x venom crossover. i mean, they just kinda keep having similiar themes all around, an' with two my fav halloween freaks. i cannot just pass this chance, haha.

either way, jon n' jack havin' a swell time as you can see. they're at the bottom of the food chain quite literally. poor twinky ghouls are about to become a dinner in more ways, than one. how unfortunate for them! but what a feast for a nosferatu n' alien parasite. one drinks 🩸, the other love eatin' human 🧠, so it's no biggie that both jon an' jack are scrawny an' undernourished. their predators aren't after their meat or limited fat. they are after more individual body parts an' components.

so yes, this is my halloween 'special' thingy! a conjoined mash-up about big bad predator an' their twangy, evil prey. the sort of dynamic, that both pairs had going on at one point or another. less so 'canically' for scarebat, since that series of comics *where batman was a savage vampire* is technically a separate 'what if' reality. but still, jon n' jack had a very real brush with smth, that is way stronger than them. an' only one made it out alive, but oh well, this is what AUs n' other stuff is for. bc how about no, an' how about some more homoerotic take on those scenes? like, it was 'hot' to me in some ways. esp with words like 'territorial dispute' an' implication of batman givin' scarecrow good ole vampire succ, post morten or not.

i honestly always amazed, when the comics does smth very servicing for my tastes / interests, without actually ever tryin' to pander to people like me. it's prob one of the most 'erotic' things to me as to an author. it's like a possible wink wink to someone, who wants to see it. but generally, just a part of the story. not even a big one, but that's just a tasty bit anyways! i always had a weakness to predator/prey thrope, esp when it's less of fluffy, twinlight kind of romance, but instead a gore-ish sort of deal, where one party can end up actually dying even if by pure accident. it provides some pretty big stakes. not to meantion, that there is always an unspoken paralell between sex n' death in horror genre. including consuming / stabbing / sucking blood an' such. it's important for me as horror movies fan. i like there to be some 'love' in my horror, even if it's not traditional or on the nose. it gives all those exederated gore-y / deadly scenes more meaning, if one wants to impliment it there. an' it just makes for a memorable scene as well.

also while i'm not super into the heroes 'turnin' bad' stuff, in this case, there is an appeal of flash / bruce going feral. it's hard to resist the playful thought about how bruce n' flash find their foe tempting, *iresistably attractive*, but in a different manner now. jack n' jon aren't no rosy maiden, who usually gets the spot of main dish / love interest, but this what makes it even better. jon an' jack are walking ginger bread, an' that's that, really. but tbf, they're kind of weirdos, who would always partly dig it. their handsome, brooding *arch*-enemy wants to eat them an' not some random hussie. that's very scary, an' also sexy lol.

still it's one of those moments in comics, where i wish that they kept the secenes going for a bit longer. just expanded on that suggestive possibility of them taking it step futher. but i also get why they didn't drag it out, cuz it wasn't the point of issue, anyways. just some lil fun moment. tho, i do love how batman *out of his mind or not* seemed to have enough mercy on crane to kill him off relativly quickly compared to the others. the riddler, pen-pen *yeah, i call oswald this* n' ivy had to suffer through the whole overdeal with full awarness, feeling their throats being ripped out, as they were still alive. jon was spared of such fate. the bat came, lectured him, broke his hand an' beheaded him. way quicker vs when you have to feel your meat and blood dripping all over ya. an' in venom's case, i loved how jack was so oddly forgiving of flash nearly decapitating him on the spot lol. flash *at that point* had already ate a fella or two. like bruce, he clearly wasn't proud of those times or enjoyd it, but out of all people, who managed to snap him out of the murder mode, it was jack. but hey, not on my watch! no one will die, but someone will be 'consumed', alright. that's just natural order of things or whatever. an' it's so bc i do make all the rules, haha.

as for more technical side of things, i did altered a few things. mainly with flash n' jack. i made flash's berserk venom form smalles an' all black, bc of well...uh, reasons. and also jack has an actual face here lol. also while at first, i wanted to draw him with his trade-mark messed up features, but kinda end up drawing him all 'dolled up' instead lol. so i suppose, along with all other au-ish elements, his face wasn't blown off in this universe either. an' on somewhat unrelated note, i like how both jack *even some of spiderman's ones* and jonathan are usually shown to be brunette or redhead. my pref will always be with those two being redheads, but still, it's a funny thing to ponder on. another technical bit is that, i wanted both jack n' jon being unable to use their hands / arms in one of the picture, since for me it's like snaring a 'prey' and then, they are kinda useless without it too. jon can land one hell of a kick for sure, but it won't help him to push away the vampire from his neck. also no fear gas to spray from his gloves, even if it would have acomplished nothing. in jack's case, it's similiar situation. he can throw / shoot lil flames from his gloves, the only thing that all symbiotes seem to detaste, besides specific levels of noise. but if he can't do it, and it's too risky to shoot flame from his helmet, welp, he's screwed lol. an' i also wanted to use venom's tongue as bondage tool lol. it was one of those things, that i always loved about venom symbiote / carnage looks an' anatomy, is how 'bendy' their bodies are. an' how creepy they can strech their body parts as well. both, bruce n' flash possess superhuman powers in this, so nor jon nor jack is actually a match for them. but taking away even the last of their defenses is a cherry on the top. jonathan is already always spooked animal, an' with someone as dumbly tunel-visioned as jack, it take a tad more to scare him shitless. esp bc he thinks, that he's such hot shit of a mercenary, haha.

so yups, this year batman n' flash got a treat. jack and' jonathan *in comparison* got tentacles and anemia respectively. can this count as trick? i mean, i guess lol. but on bright side, jonathan is kinda bruce's bf / blood bank in this one, an' jack is....well, he's a bitch. i mean, he touched the toxin, so now flash have to 'mark' him lol.

Hello, could I trouble you for some sasusaku fic recommendations? I hope you have a good day!

of course :) i picked some of my all-time favourites, and i hope there's enough variety here to keep you satisfied!

go the converse by blue-plums -- this one is not really romantic, but regardless, it's probably the ss fic i come back to the most often. (i'd recommend reading even if you don't dig the pairing! as long as you enjoy both characters ofc) it's a modern college au, and as a bonus, the author integrates a lot of japanese cultural elements to help the characters translate pretty seamlessly. it aces what i love about sasuke and sakura's relationship, particularly for sasuke, and it's just sooo sweet and comforting. it's incomplete but you wouldn't really know it (i only noticed on my third read, haha) -- i think it leaves you with a nice sense of closure. all of this author's fics (on ao3 and ffn) are worth a read.

soft day by catflorist -- another author whose fics are all a must-read if you like ss. this one is your classic blank period fic executed to perfection, and i don't say that lightly. it's hitting all the beats of what i've always wanted to see between sasuke and sakura as they heal and reconcile. in progress.

abattoir by leech -- a oneshot of sasuke and sakura's blank period travels as you've never seen them before. the sakura of this fic is more damaged than canon, but not so much so that you can't recognize her. sasuke is incredibly in-character, like... surprisingly sweet while also doing All Of That. yeah, you kind of just have to read it to see. mind the tags

sunny. zero chance of rain by bby_rabbit -- this is a super fun slice of life fic, still in progress. sasusaku is one of few pairings -- you can check out the tags for the others -- but i'm obsessed with what we do get of them. it's a contrast to the other fics here in that they're already together, so it depicts more domestic struggles. and i really enjoy sasuke and sakura's individual characterizations! sakura, in particular, is a character people tend to write aspirationally, but while she's no less accomplished here, i love love love the emphasis on all her neuroses. the fic does flirt a little bit with sasuhina so keep that in mind, but like. read it!

we're in danger, sleeping with a friend by psallocappella -- this is a oneshot of the early stages of sasuke and sakura's relationship. light and pretty funny. featuring the usual team 7 shenanigans, lady katsuyu, and somehow, shikamaru. would also recommend this author's other work!

Ok, on one hand I feel like these could be Shakespearean/Greek/Roman plays because this definitely leans into the aesthetic, but doing other kinds of plays (/more modern-ish stuff) could also work.

Because there's only so many times you can watch kids perform Shakespeare lol

For the sake of a certain blond, we're leaning into a story where the prince has to wake the princess up with a kiss

Possible roles?

We've definitely got some good contenders for Snow White: Livia, Persephone, Diana, Juno etc.

A few contenders for Prince Charming (shh Festus totally doesn't sign up to audition because of Persephone)

Clemensia gets asked if she'd audition and she decides - yeah, why not?

People just assume - going off movie!Clemmie's appearance here - that she's interested in auditioning for Snow White

And suddenly the interest in the role of Prince Charming SPIKES

When audition day comes, many had (wrongfully) assumed Clemmie was going for Snow White. Nah she wants the role of the Evil Queen

Felix and Nia cackle at the amount of disappointed classmates (Clemmie swore them to secrecy beforehand)

Cast: (this was purely based on vibes and their names)

Snow White: Diana Ring

Prince Charming: Coriolanus Snow

Evil Queen: Clemensia Dovecote

Huntsman: Apollo Ring

Dwarves - ok like there's 7 dwarves and I'm using the Disney names here. And all I'm saying is Urban Canville is cast as Grumpy (and he's grumpy about it when people say that the role fits him).

Practice isn't that bad

Though Livia definitely makes fun of the scene where Snow White wakes up from the 'kiss' -> "Remember Coriolanus, you're supposed to kiss Didi back to life, not give her the kiss of death." Cue the entire class giggling

They don't practice that scene often because someone always whispers "kiss of death" loud enough for Diana to hear, and she gets super giggly

Costumes are on the kids to put together

Tigris definitely helps Coriolanus put together a very princely-looking costume on for the play

Clemmie's uncle (The one that runs the jewelry boutique in the Capitol) has opinions on his niece's costume: "Costume jewelry!? That's so gaudy-looking, how are you supposed to look like a queen with that stuff?"

Listen the Beauchamps have HIGH standards when it comes to jewels, but Clemmie's mother is just better at rationalizing that priceless jewels shouldn't be used for a primary school play. So Aelia sighs and pretends she doesn't see her brother swapping out the strand of fake pearls for real emeralds when he stops by to wish Clemmie luck before the play starts

The adults think the play is pretty good for their age - even if Snow White is a bit giggly even when she's supposed to be in an enchanted sleep

Diner AU - Sugary Jalapeno Pancakes

I'm glad people found the Diner AU interesting :>. As a token of my appreciation, have a drabble feat. Kokichi, Shuichi, and Kaede in the diner (that's admittedly unnamed for now lMAOAO). Also, I would've added more interactions with the other protagonists, but this became much longer than I thought... I'll be making separate posts for those instead (i.e. Komahina antics and some other shenanigans).

Kokichi taps against the table. Where’s Kaede? He wanted his soda already. She’s always super nice about his very particular tastes, even though she gets annoyed at him really easily (although that's really not surprising nor undesired). He even made the effort to visit today of all days, because today she’s usually here to get him it.

He hears a pen tapping. Ah, finally. 

He lifts his head up to come face to face with messy dark hair and deep eye bags, coupled with long lashes framing silvery verdant eyes. Pretty.

“Um, hi.” They smile, and wow, they’re timid. This might be fun. “What would you like?”

He grins, as charmingly innocent as possible. “Well, I come here, like, all the time and I just LOVE the jalapeno pancakes, extra sugar. Can I have that?”

They hum. Their pen (blue ink- so boringgggg) nearly touches paper, but their hands stop mid-air. They furrow their eyebrows, purse their lips. Oh, it’s always good when people make that face. It means they’re not idiots.

“Ah, I’m sorry,” They ask incredulously (appropriately, he’ll admit). "jalapeno pancakes? With sugar?”

His grin turns wolfish. “Yep!” He says, with a pop! on the p. “Jalapeno pancakes! They’re an absolute classic, I always get them here. Pairing it with sugar makes the combo so amazeballs.” Haha, he died a little inside saying that.

A flurry of emotions flip through their face, and he almost feels pity for just how easy they are to read. The waiter leans forward, grabbing- oh yeah, he forgot he had a menu with him. They thumb through the pages. Got 'em. Quickly, he replaces his devious smile with a frown. "What's the hold up? Is something wrong?"

He nearly laughs when they lower the menu, exposing their wide, oh-so worried eyes. “Sorry. Um. Where is that on the menu? It's not on here, and I would definitely remember something so… eccentric if it was one of our specials.” 

Aw, their rationalization is so cute. “Yeah, it wouldn’t be.” Kokichi easily waves off. “It’s a code phrase for my order. Me and the cook go way back, we’re the best of pals, you know! Has he really not mentioned me?" The answering shake of the head has him bawling. "WAHHH! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY B F F WOULD ACT LIKE I DON'T EXIST!" He expected them to immediately start panicking, but instead they just look a little concerned with their tilt of the head, a little overwhelmed but not overcome. They're not even looking around self-consciously! He's a menace and he knows it! But no, they're just staring intently at him. Huh. He blinks the tears away and says, just to really bring it home, “Rantaro will definitely know what I’m talking about.”

They clearly look conflicted, biting their lip, but nod anyway. So they are a pushover then? He figured that’d be the case.

They smile at him with a nod. “Sure. I’ll see what I can do.”

As quickly as they came, they speed walked away. Man, that worked absolutely perfectly. The poor server’s going to be so embarra-

“KOKICHI!” A voice booms from the back. Stomps echo against the tile of the diner, and yep, there she is. Kayayday. Didn’t expect that to happen.

She stands in front of him with a pout and crossed arms, directing a particularly scathing glare at him that he hasn’t seen in awhile. He sticks his tongue out at her with a grin. Serves her right for not getting his order. 

“Kokichi," She starts, and he knows he's in for something good, "please don’t harass the new server. It’s very lucky he’s smart enough to detect that you were lying- like seriously, a secret code for your order? Although I can see you doing that-, he’s just too polite to call you out on it.” 

He hums. That’s interesting. “It was meant to be an outlandish lie, easy for him to figure out!” Lie. He didn’t expect to be found out, not with being mostly sincere and actually trying to be normal- read: trying-, just for that flavour. “I was initiating him for the future!” He doesn’t even have to confirm that one.

She tilts her head. “Huh, really?” The blonde frowns. “I don’t know if I believe that…” 

“Pft, I can tell he was new! You know I’m a regular here, so I was actually surprised to see someone else on shift that isn’t Makotoes.” He shifts his gaze to his nails as nonchalantly as possible. “Sooooooooo… who’s the pretty boy?”

“Pretty boy?” She raises an eyebrow at him.  

Well. That was overly stupid. Don’t blush, don't blush, don't blush. He did NOT mean to say that. 

Her face doesn’t change. Good. The slip of the tongue went unnoticed. “He’s one of my best friends that started working here a few days ago. I won’t say much else though.” She explains.

He shrugs nonchalantly. “Okay.” 

Internally, he screams. 

Lilac eyes narrow at him. “For some reason, I feel like you would’ve questioned me about him just so you can tune me out and mock me for it, but the fact that you’re not makes me think you want to hear about him. Am I right?”

Damn. He forgot Kaede can be really perceptive when she wants to be. Kaede’s smirking though, so his expression clearly isn’t as neutral as he wanted it to be. 

She laughs lightly. “Well, I’ll have him bring your usual this time- you do still want that right?”

“Absolutely not! I don’t want anything after all this-!” 

“-wonderful, got it, one Panta coming up!” She interrupts, already walking away. Rude. 

As Kaede promised, the navy-haired server from before appears with his can of Panta. 

"Here you go." The waiter greets him, setting down the delicious grape-y goodness right in front of him.

He takes a glorious sip of bubbly blandness. "You're 'too polite' to call me out, huh?" Kokichi starts with a smirk.

"Ah, I'm not really that polite..." So humble. "I would've called you out then and there," Wha-? "but it was kind of funny to see Kaede go off on someone. I've never seen that before." Grayish green eyes meets his purple, and his lips quirk upward. "I've heard a lot about you, Kokichi, so it really was only fair."

Huh.

"WAHHHH!" He cries again. He's gonna need to drink a lot more than usual after this... "You're so mean! What kind of server are you, bullying the customers?!"

"Ah! Sorry! Please keep it down." He frowns. "You really are so confusing..."

"Well, I'm sure you could figure it out, Detective." He purrs.

Saying that has every muscle of the other's tense, his ahoge on high alert (which he's going to gloss over right now, but he sees Kaede's do the exact same thing which is WEIRD, even for him). "Detective? How did you know?"

He was just referencing one of his favourite fantasies as a personal joke, but he can 100% work with this. "It's pretty obvious." in retrospect, anyway. Observant, logical, although he is really anxious. Like, really. Practically an open book. "Does said Detective have a name? I need to let my subordinates know who they need to watch out for."

"Shuichi. Shuichi Saihara."

"We're gonna have a LOT of fun Shumai~!" He grins.

ser criston cole

say hello to ser criston! or just cris, as you’ve come to call him. a stuntman making his acting debut in the new drama, house of the dragon. compared to his stoic persona, he is very goofy. laughs a lot and can never do one take. being serious is not his forte which only makes his acting chops a lot more impressive. he also laughs when he’s nervous and he’s constantly nervous around the more experienced people. doing combat scenes with him is super fun and he always makes sure his costars, and even you, are alright. does his own stunts. formerly worked on the game of thrones show (according to rumors at least).

“the princess rhaenyra is brazen and relentless. a spider who, haha. spiders. a spider who strings and sucks her prey dry. hahaha. i’m so sorry guys. can i get some water please?”

daemon targaryen

daemon is an experienced actor with a lot of films under his belt. however, he’s most prominently known to have starred in lots of b movies, particularly of the horror genre. he’s given his characters depth but the critical reception has really shrouded his talent. house of the dragon, then, is proof that he can act. and, most importantly, that he’s a good actor. he acts with professionalism and enjoys spending time with his costars outside of work. he does have a loyal following that are willing to watch anything he is in but also, he’s been single for a long time. dating just isn’t in his mind until he meets you.

“that was a really great shoot today. anyways, (y/n), do you want to join me and the others to grab some food? we’re all quite hungry and want to wish the children goodbye and good luck on future projects. kind of sad they’re leaving.”

rhaenyra targaryen

rhaenyra targaryen is a famed stage actor. outside of theatre and drag, they are not well known. house of the dragon signifies their serious television debut. rhaenyra is queer, using they/she pronouns, and presents masc outside of the show. they bring a unique perspective to their character and are well respected in the theatre and drag scene. they got into performing through drag and was even featured on a reality show for a brief time. they become a queer icon once making their television debut and can’t be any happier with their success.

alicent hightower

alicent has quite the filmography to brag about. she’s been an actress since she was a child, thus she has as many films under her belt as daemon despite the latter being much older than her and having more experience. she is especially known from her role on a teen show as the sweet protagonist (who everyone eventually got fed up with after 8 seasons of no character growth). so playing a complex character like alicent lets her show off her acting chops while also metaphorically shedding her image as the good teenage girl. you can find her hanging out with rhaenyra or yourself.

“what made me want to take this role? well, it was a chance to grow, you know. and such a devoted mother, wife, woman, has layers to it. it just goes deeper than what i have done during most of my career. and to bring this woman to life is such a great honor.”

aegon targaryen

aegon targaryen is the leading man with a lot of fans and a role in an ongoing multi-movie franchise. a chris evans, if you will. his most notable role is as a righteous man, someone so morally upstanding. so to play someone like aegon provides him with a challenge. he loves the new material and to finally be something different! he’s also very much like criston, always cracking up during his lines and making jokes. he’s always bringing refreshments to set for everyone and there are nothing but good things said about him.

“oh wow. did you get me a smoothie (y/n)? you didn’t have to, y’know. i don’t mind getting you stuff....oh, you just wanted to? you are very sweet. maybe we can go grab some food after this shoot is done.”

aemond targaryen

the newbie. he’s only acted in soap operas and dramas but he blows up after his debut on house of the dragon. aemond becomes probably one of the most popular actors after his debut. his inexperience makes him nervous and after the takes are done, he’s always apologizing and asking if his costars are okay (like with luke). he’s mostly played sweethearts in his roles, so his character is a new change of pace. sometimes, he does need a pep talk from you because it is very intimidating to be working around such experienced actors and actresses like rhaenyra and alicent!

helaena targaryen

the it-girl and a rising new talent, helaena is the hottest new actress. she rose to prominence with rom coms and many people feared she would be categorized as a rom com actress from then on out. however, helaena is not one for formulas! she starred in a tv series that went against her rom com image and a dramatic film that had critics praising her for weeks on end. house of the dragon is one of her many endeavors to expand her craft. she is also on the more famous side compared to some of her other costars and has a large social media following, hailed as a style icon.

jacaerys velaryon

jace has dipped his toes into acting, mostly in comedies because his comedic timing is amazing. but his primary source of income is as a model and a musician. he’s written a few songs solo and heads a punk band. house of the dragon represents his dramatic debut. and a lot of his fans don’t recognize him at first when he comes on screen until they look at the credits. nevertheless, he brings in new fans for his band and his numbers on social media sky rocket. he is a bit of a goofball like aegon and has a large storage of memes for the groupchats.
