and controversially? hes right
kamen rider buffa is everything to me. hes gay. hes too angry to do anything about it but too angry to not do anything about it. hes psychotic. he lost someone important to him and blamed the first guy he saw. he still talks to that dead friend. he himself died like 3 times and walked it off. he doesnt believe in the power of friendship. hes getting taken over by evil plant mutation, but thats unrelated to him being a zombie. he has a chainsaw.

"I love him, Father, I truly truly do, I love him as much as Queen Naerys loved Prince Aemon the Dragonknight [
]" (Sansa III, AGOT) “Wed?” Sansa was stunned. “You and my aunt?” “The Lord of Harrenhal and the Lady of the Eyrie.” You said it was my mother you loved. But of course Lady Catelyn was dead, so even if she had loved Petyr secretly and given him her maidenhood, it made no matter now. (Sansa VI, ASOS)
I find that these little passages reveal something interesting about sansa's personality. specially when you juxtapose how she's characterized in the text and her worldviews here, and how at first glance they may seem contradictory. but first, let's take two things into account:
the patriarchal society of westeros is very strict on women's sexuality. which means that not only is female virginity held in great value, but also female adultery is very firmly condemned by everyone, unlike men who are allowed to maintain public mistresses and flaunt their bastards everywhere.
sansa is characterized as the conformist, the one who internalizes her society's rules. she's very religious, she's a proper lady in every sense of the word and she often says and does exactly what she's told.
and yet, in these passages we can see that sansa does not care much about societal rules when it comes to intimate feelings. she often hails aemon and naerys' (supposed) forbidden love without a single care that queen naerys was bound by duty to a husband and aemon was meant to be loyal to his king. but most astonishing of all is her nonchalant response to petyr's (false) information that her mother was not a virgin when she married. on one hand it may speak on sansa's views towards women's sexuality, since her current friends (mya and randa) are girls who engage in sex out of wedlock, and she never judges them, just like she doesn't judge her mother for apparently doing the same, and catelyn continues to be the person she admires the most. sansa also doesn't view her parents' relationship any differently because of this, the marriage between ned and cat is still as happy as she remembers, because all that matters to her is that there was love in the home she grew up in. the thing about sansa's character is that she plays by the rules up until a certain point, but on the inside she always prioritizes emotion over societal norms, and that's why she looks more upset at petyr for marrying someone while claiming to love another, because in her mind he's being unfaithful to his heart by marrying out of practicality. we have examples that showcase sansa's prioritizing feelings in AGOT when she, the good daughter, disobeys her father for the first time because she thought she was in love with joffrey, and in ASOS where she never thinks she owes tyrion anything just because he's her husband. so it comes as no surprise that she's so infatuated with the love story of an adulterous and incestuous relationship like aemon and naerys'. one of the main themes in this series is that feelings don't care about honor. and if love is the death of duty then sansa seems more than happy to see duty killed for the sake of love.
of course this doesn't mean she'll stay that way, specially when she's already lost her so much of her innocence and is now tangled in petyr's schemes where she must set her own feelings aside in order to act on his plans. and despite her silent judgement of petyr marrying someone he didn't love, her current betrothal with harry is an entirely practical union on her part since she feels nothing for him and only sees him as a means to an end. there have been many instances since book 1 where she was able to turn off her feelings in order to withstand certain situations. so... what even is sansa's mind? an interesting universe on its own for sure.
I just think sansa's romanticism is one of her most interesting traits (for better and for worse), something that truly contributes to the distinctiveness of her character, and I really hope petyr or anyone else are unable to completely kill that in her.

I think something really worth mentioning is that Dorian has pretty much been on the run since parting with Bells Hells in Jrusar - the Crown Keepers had to stay off the roads in their travels to avoid detection. For all that Bells Hells have had a time of it, they have had a few moments of respite, Team Wildemount especially, that Dorian simply hasn't had. And worse, most of the worst attacks have come from within and/or been deceptive ones - obviously Opal being over taken by Lolth, but also Fearne being lured away, Laudna in Zadash, Dominox, and Laudna again. And, of course, his brother, the entire purpose of his departure, has died.
I think the kindest thing Bells Hells can do for him is just make space for those feelings, hopefully address the Delilah situation with the current ritual, and let him figure things out. It might be that he still wants to kill the gods. It might be that he's more worried about specifically saving Opal. It might be that a chance to grieve Cyrus or even to breathe for a moment will change his mind, but it's entirely possible it won't. He was extremely quiet this episode; I'm not even sure he's ready to meet those feelings head-on quite yet.
More generally it's a bit like the god debates earlier in that there are characters I disagree with; but I'm saying this with a lot of knowledge that is not available to them. I don't think Ashton has ever had a worldview I would consider healthy, rational, or realistic, but I also think their cynicism comes from a very real place given their history. I think going on the Liliana assassination mission would have been an extremely fun option, but I get why Imogen wouldn't choose to do that. I (outside the text) don't agree with Dorian on an abstract philosophical level, but he's the character in the story actually being affected by events that happened to him. There's little more joyless than just jumping on to whichever characters embody your own personal positions and deciding they're right; feels a little like Brennan's note on propaganda, honestly, except a la carte cherrypicked rather than homemade. There might be some fun conflict but honestly, I think Dorian's also pretty disgusted with Ludinus in a way not unlike how Ashton feels, so it really may be they spend the remainder of the campaign with the attitude of "I'd gladly kill a god were the opportunity to present itself, but the Exandrian Accord seems to have room for people who feel this way but hate Ludinus more." An ideological argument, but not a practical one.

Albedo spent sixty years rescuing Nahida from her cage, because he was looking for a challenge to test himself against. He didn't spend much time thinking about how, after the rush of satisfaction had faded, he would be in possession of a newborn god of wisdom who was so lost she tried to go back into her cage.
"Why are you here?" she asked, puzzled, as soon as the door to her cage opened. "There's so much-- You did so much, so why are you here?"
He stared at her as all of his sense of accomplishment washed away.
She began to gabble. "I knew something was happening, I could see your echoes, the ripples like a fish underwater, and I didn't know what you could want but I helped you when I could, because I wanted to see them beaten so why are you here?"
Because this is the finish line. But he knew better than to say that. Instead, he ran a rapid post-mortem on his plans over the last sixty years. When had the flaw been introduced, and how could he compensate for it?
"Okay," she said into the silence. "Now what?" Her eyes reminded him of glass marbles.
"I don't know what you want me to do," she said bitterly after a moment. "There's nothing I can do."
It was a worldview alien to Albedo. Ever since his mother abandoned him, he'd practiced turning his knowledge into power over the world around him. Before they called him a mastermind, they called him a meddler, and usually he didn't bother tidying up when he was done.
"Oh. I see," she said, drawing her own conclusion and dropping her gaze. "You didn't come for me after all. How stupid I am."
And even then, he struggled. He could see the potential shapes of the consequence he'd created and he didn't like them. He'd done something terrible and he had to repair it, but how--??
Tears began to spill from those green eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm just not good enough yet. I shouldn't... I shouldn't get involved." And, wiping her eyes, she'd turned to step back into the cage.
That, at least, he could respond to. "No, don't do that. It would only make things worse."
"What?" She half-turned, her mouth open in surprise.
"Would you like something to eat or drink?" That was probably a safe thing to ask in the situation. The government imprisoning her had been thoroughly disabled that morning. And newborns were often hungry.
"What?" she repeated, and then ran over to him. "Did you change your mind?"
Pleasantly, he said, "I think you did, but that's not an important detail at the moment. Why don't we sit down and talk about a few things?"
She promptly sat down, looking up at him with clear curiosity. He sat down on the ground too, refining his evaluation of her. "First of all, do you have a name of your own? One that doesn't belong to the Archon?"
"Nahida," she said, possibly for the first time. She looked a little surprised, in any case.
"I'm happy to meet you, Nahida. My name is Albedo." He gave her a friendly smile, and she stared at him like she was decoding his face. "Let's try to figure out what you'd like to do now."
"May I ask a question first?" She spoke with a respectfulness he didn't deserve. Not from her, anyhow. He'd have to earn it first.
"Please do. I'll do my best to answer it." While she formulated her thoughts, he began to synthesize some fish snacks he hoped she'd find palatable.
"Beyond your name, who are you?" It was a question carefully considered, and not the one he expected. But her earnest gaze remained fixed on him.
He considered his own response. It wasn't a question he was in the habit of answering. "Mostly, I plan things for other people. I'm quite clever and I've lived a long time compared to most, so I have certain advantages I enjoy sharing. In quite a few places, I'm considered a criminal, because what I help people do is often illegal. " He offered her the fish snacks. "I also engage in projects of my own, like this one."
She accepted one and nibbled on it. He observed as her eyes widened and she nibbled a bit more before finally making a face and putting it down. "I don't know how to taste it right. I'll work on it later."
"Is that what you want to do?" He saw this as a natural way of leading back to the core topic, but when she flinched, admitted to himself that such directness might have been a little cruel after already thrusting so much change on her unannounced.
"Do you think it tastes good?" she asked him uncertainly.
"Yes, I do."
She thought for a moment. "I'd like to learn to like it too, then. And I want to stay with you, please."
Did gods imprint? He'd never looked into the question. But the truth remained: she might be the god of wisdom, but she was also a powerful and traumatized child. If he walked away now, one way or another, she'd show up in his life again, the worse for it.
Calmly, he said, "Yes, I thought you might say that. Do you also want to rule Sumeru?"
She shrugged, curled up in a ball, rocked back and forth. "Sumeru is a dream to me, a world on the other side of pages and glass." Then she sat up again. "But you are somebody I never imagined existed. That seems more interesting than governing a country that doesn't want me to exist, all by myself."
"I agree," he said. "Still, having Sumeru on a stable footing may be useful in the future, so we should probably sort out the knot I made before we go on our way."

Fragments - episodes 31-35 author notes
You can find similar breakdown posts on older episodes in my pinned!
Tumblr media
The chasm in their understanding of what makes Vivi tick.
Tumblr media
The stakes in this scene seem low and the twins are just overdramatizing the danger for the sake of unwinding and being silly, right? Yesn't. One wrong move or word, and they join those leafmen scattered all over the place.
Tumblr media
Finding the line between bad actor and caring sister.
Of course Alisaie wants to hang out with Vivi. She doesn't want to admit that to herself, let alone risk looking desperate in her brother's eyes. Tsundere moment. It's been a while since they've. Had a rest. Between rescuing Minfilia from Laxan Loft and making their way to Il Mheg. Alphinaud, at least in my hc, isn't as physically durable, but definitely as stubborn and proud as Alisaie, so he wouldn't simply agree to chill out for a moment. Alisaie makes him tunnel-vision her bad (?) acting and openly throwing the game for supposedly selfish reasons, while she gets what she wanted, AND forces Alphi to sit his ass down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m sorry but I really need to point out that her ahoge did, in fact, launch into the stratosphere.
More under the cut~
Tumblr media
....Can you blame her tho.
Vivi’s shirt’s a bit more plain than usual, he needed to wear something practical under his crystarium guard disguise in Laxan Loft.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The flashback in episodes 32-33 has no dialogue per se, only monologues, to emphasize how disconnected they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Technically both vivis are real, but Exarch’s memories are definitely heavily skewed. He’d only known Vivi during the CT quests, in this story it’s a month or two in summer, during which literally nothing bad happens, sans the finale. Alisaie, however, got lucky to experience Vivi during Stormblood, his absolute low.
Exarch and Alisaie sit on opposing sides of the bias, one wears pink glasses, delusional and bluepilled, the other one’s (heh) redpilled, perhaps a bit too much. Hence Alisaie feels the whiplash when her jerkass woobie friend suddenly acts mellow (back in the present), still she has the expertise to tell that he’s not affected by a fae spell or anything.
Tumblr media
Full page because I’m so proud of the paneling here, simple as this trick is, these speech bubbles blocking Vivi from sight neatly illustrate that Alisaie just babbles away, paying no heed to his state.
With the power of flashbacks and stories told by one character to another, I’m able to revisit any moment in their past whenever I please. I didn’t commit to a linear story because there was no story! Well, just the outlines. Vivi as a character began in ShB because I really needed to fuck that old man, I started writing down the lil scenes loosely connected by the canon plot, and that’s how the whole concept of Fragments came to be.
It may not work for everyone, but my secret sauce’s that you don’t have to begin at the beginning. Make a guy, put him in a situation, then ask a lot of whys and hows to expand his story backward and forward.
Keeping the past events for later allows me to flesh things out at a leisurely pace. This Alisaie flashback is actually an iteration, originally I’d planned to have Vivi stand alone and just think the broody thoughts, and that was supposed to be the transition between ARR and ShB arcs. I grow more writing muscle as I go, and I’m infinitely happy that I avoided that angsty infodump.
Okay this’s becoming a big fat tangent, but I wanted to acknowledge another pitfall: overusing a character as a mere exposition tool. I wouldn’t do this for, say, Tataru or Y’shtola. Being THE flashback haver makes sense for Alisaie because a) they’re close with Vivi, b) her worldview and opinion on Vivi are changing in ShB, she’s a smart lil thing who would slow down and reflect when appropriate, c) she has a distinct arc in my comic, and knowing what’s going on inside that elf brain will give you the most entertainment out of her actions in the present moment.
I’m new to writing and very excited about the story that comes together as we speak, so I like to show around my kitchen. Please lemme know if you enjoy this. I don’t know if I’m parroting the boring 101s, or if this’s actually useful to someone.

“Meals made for me” YEA HE CAN’T COOK. Well, barely.
New sharp outfit, procured by our most magnanimous branch. The “tail” will help me draw the upcoming Titania fight, it adds fluidity to his movements.

*presses the upgrade button*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's a lot happening in his head that's not being shown. I hope at least some readers wonder who or what he leaves behind in his mind's eye in this moment. What we know for sure is that he doesn’t take too long to make a decision.
Not sure if subtle, but I did try the breadcrumbing:
Tumblr media
Unfortunately for everyone, including himself :’>
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love this one especially because, instead of telling that about himself, Vivi asks Ardbert, kinda gauging his wol experience against the other wol’s.
Tumblr media
Episode 34 really shook people awake and reminded that we’re off the msq rails with this story. I loved the response it evoked in the tags, lots of thoughtful rambling about being a hero.
Tumblr media
Fae temptation jokes and all, but Feo Ul really says what Vivi needs to say out loud to himself.
Tumblr media
Normalize prioritizing self-care over world-saving.
Tumblr media
Vivi genuinely cares about Feo Ul. That’s unusual. It might be my storytelling mistake that I didn’t show much of his typical indifference before this scene, unless you count the episodes where he does this
Tumblr media
instead of hurrying the fuck up with the msq. Or, perhaps, it’s okay, since this gets plenty of attention later on. You won’t miss the fact that he isn’t eager to set himself on fire to keep others warm. Feo Ul just lucked their way into his heart, and, as a result, he approaches the Titania fight with unusual consideration.
Tumblr media
/srs mode on ^
Remember how I just talked about developing this story in all directions at once? I planned Vivi to have this demeanor during the early days of writing Fragments. Like, most of the time. He’d be a broody bitch, get slowly thawed by Exarch’s kindness, and... That’d be it. In veeeeeery broad strokes, this’s still the case, but the current iteration has much more nuance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vivi and Titania’s likeness has no deep meaning, take it or leave it. Vivi cares about appearances, he was bound to notice this. Feo Ul can see souls, visuals are secondary to them. But Vivi, being himself, must doubt and question everything.
Tumblr media
He moves fast and thinks a lot as the adrenaline speeds him up.
Notice how he lets Titania speak and remains quiet. This’s common in most fights: he doesn’t indulge with chats or banter those who he sees as mere targets to destroy. There’s like a point of no return, if an enemy poses no threat and can be talked out of dying, Vivi will speak, sadly he enters this fight knowing that Titania has to die no matter what.
Once he’s familiarized himself with the situation, and realized that Titania’s more than just a mindless husk, things change up a bit. But for now, he just runs in circles, analyzes the situation, and overthinks about their visual resemblance :’>
Tumblr media
Sorry not sorry but unintentional reference x’DD
Tumblr media
To be fair Vivi IS being a magical boy in this miniarc so this works lmao.
Wrapping up on this note, thanks for sticking with me and reading till the end~

Kenan Yildiz ???
Kenan đŸ„°
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sun in Taurus, Kenan's core self is steady and grounded. He’s probably super determined and values comfort; both in life and on the pitch. A Taurus sun often has a love for the finer things, so he might enjoy the perks of being a professional athlete.
With his moon in Pisces, Kenan is likely very intuitive and sensitive. He might feel the emotions of those around him deeply, which can help him connect with teammates and fans. This placement often brings a creative flair, so he might have an artistic side too.
Kenan's Mercury in Aries means he communicates directly and confidently. He likely thinks on his feet and isn’t afraid to express his ideas quickly. This can be a real asset in high-pressure situations on the field.
His Venus in Taurus emphasises loyalty and a love for stability in relationships. Kenan probably appreciates beauty and comfort, which can reflect in his style and the way he interacts with his loved ones.
With Mars in Pisces, Kenan might approach his goals with a blend of intuition and compassion. He might not be the most aggressive player, but he can be creative in his play style, using his instincts to navigate challenges.
Jupiter in Libra suggests that Kenan finds growth and luck through partnerships and teamwork. He might thrive in collaborative environments but may also reassess his beliefs about fairness and balance in his life.
Saturn in Cancer indicates that Kenan values security and may have a strong sense of duty towards his family. He might work hard to create a safe space for himself and others.
Uranus in Pisces, this placement brings an element of innovation and unpredictability. Kenan could have a unique approach to his craft, often surprising others with his techniques and insights.
Neptune in Aquarius suggests a visionary mindset. Kenan might be drawn to progressive ideas and could have dreams of making a difference, whether on or off the field.
With Pluto in Sagittarius, Kenan may undergo transformations in his beliefs and worldview throughout his life. This retrograde position can make him introspective about his journey and growth.
The North Node in Aries suggests Kenan is meant to embrace independence and assertiveness in this lifetime. He may need to work on being more self-reliant and bold in pursuing his goals.
Lilith in Leo brings a flair for drama and creativity. Kenan might have a strong desire to express himself and be recognised for his talents, which can translate into his performance on the field.
Chiron in Aquarius indicates that Kenan might carry wounds related to belonging or individuality. However, this placement also suggests that he has the potential to heal himself and others through community and innovation.
Kenan Yildiz has a mix of creativity and sensitivity. He’s charming and has a great eye for fashion, with a natural artistic flair. His personality is unique and independent, but he can sometimes be a bit overly empathetic or prone to escaping reality. Emotionally, he’s stable and charismatic, but deep feelings can sometimes complicate his relationships. He’s practical but also has a strong imaginative side, especially when it comes to art and communication.
He is someone who can easily connect with others, though he might be influenced by outside opinions. He has a strong and sometimes intense personality, though he might not always be aware of how he’s coming across. In his career, there could be moments of instability, but he has the drive and energy to push through and succeed. He’s intelligent and open to growth, but struggles with staying focused and can sometimes doubt himself.
Kenan Yildiz is deeply empathetic, but he needs to watch out for being taken advantage of and could struggle with avoiding reality at times. He can be very determined, though this sometimes leads to unintentionally influencing others. He might have trouble with memory and understanding emotions, which can lead to confusion or self-deception. Big life changes could push him toward personal growth, even if it feels challenging. He craves independence, but often finds it hard to focus on his true priorities, feeling torn between following his own path and dealing with life's hurdles.

ok so!!!! i have. so many thoughts about penacony. aventurine the man you are...... his obsession with facades and masks... his future self shit talking him.... 2.1 truly delivered. his dynamic with ratio is also so interesting.... the contrasts... aven not taking care of himself at all vs ratio the self care king........
there's so much unexplored potential for a friendship between acheron and aven... their similarities as people who lost everything ... how acheron works in the shadows and aventurine flaunts himself yet acheron is much more willing to be... openly vulnerable about her past? as compared to aven..... i care them both dearly anyway!!! i have many thoughts on 2.2 but i don't want to intrude or make this too long ajshldfkjasdjf but yes!!!! im having a good time so far (though i'm kinda fed up with the sunday boss fight) and !!!! looking forward to meeting aven again (myriad celestia trailer!) + seeing what other adventures the astral express goes on...
I FORGOT TO REPLY SORRY
aventurine is just such a fun guy. i become attached to characters who try to sell a specific image of themselves pretty much immediately, because the gradual detachment from their own identity and struggle to properly connect with others is always a delight to see. and aven does it so well! he's completely out of touch with himself - kakavasha and aventurine are practically different people by now.
i care deeply about depictions of cptsd in media, particularly when they acknowledge that it really isnt just depression + anxiety + flashback induced panic attacks in a spot the person you ship them with can conveniently find them in and calm them down. such a big part of it is the way it can completely fuck up your self-concept and worldview cuz yknow. your brain structure is altered. it's the key factor in that disconnect that i just talked about. and that constant sense of impending doom and emptiness are a part of that, which often leads to stupidly reckless behavior. i don't even need to bring up aven's whole gambling thing here, do i?
(also please do note that, as i wrote this bit, welt was even further on the forefront of my mind than he usually is. because of course he would be)
him and ratio are also a fun match, because ratio does not care for the way aventurine flaunts himself (to pretend he has his shit together) in the slightest. he'd do a good job at getting aven to just... slow down, and wouldn't allow their relationship to develop into something unhealthy either.
(its one of the reasons i like avenpaz + ratio, bc aven and topaz on their own would most certainly enable each other's bad habits. they have a bit too much in common in that regard.)
AND ACHERON. ACHERON...
miss raiden bosenmori mei i love you so damn much. she does the "oh, i'm doomed? my struggle was meaningless? well if nothing matters then i will do what i want" thing so well, and every dynamic she has with the other characters is fascinating to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
one really big thing to consider is that, since acheron's whole backstory is essentially the bad ending of honkai impact 3rd, she's already seen all of this dreamscape shit. she's been living in the waking world for a long time now. in the quest "when the sacred ginmill closes," her and welt talk about kevin kaslana, someone who used his last resort to try and save humanity from the uphill battle against the honkai and plunge all of humanity into a dreamscape (etc), robbing it of its future.
a big part of hi3 is the direness of the situation, and the way people push themselves to go further and further in hopes of reaching this unattainable peace. it's an absolutely sisyphian task. and acheron let go - she defeated her version of kevin (why would you name him that) and let her homeworld be enveloped by the nihility.
so acheron's been there. she lost the people she loved, struggled against a meaningless end and was changed so irreversibly that she's not even human anymore. and there's a lot of potential for her to properly guide aventurine out of the nihility (i mean that's kind of her job?) and onto a path that's a lot more meaningful to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also, i'm saving a lot of my acheron thoughts for when i actually finish hi3, but there's a few dynamics that i could pick apart and think about forever. my favorites being aventurine and his whole (gestures at this post) stuff, black swan as someone whose whole being consists of memories while acheron perpetually erases them, welt as someone who shares the same experiences and black hole related powers, and firefly, who exists in the moment because she can't dream in the first place, and chooses to fight against the inevitable without being afraid of it.
...also also also i fucking love black holes and i love how it's connected to sun imagery and i think the idea of icarus reaching the sun only to discover a hopeless abyss beyond it is my favorite hsr symbolism thing ever. black holes are like THE thing to show hopelessness and meaninglessness and emptiness and a point of no return, because they devour everything and leave nothing. we don't truly know what lies within a black hole!! we might never find out!!! there are so many suns out there that will end up as black holes but we can appreciate their beauty nonetheless, can't we??? ive never seen a character with black hole (or sun) imagery that didn't fuck severely. a person who will figuratively consume you in your entirety if you get too close. they can't even help it. it gets me every single fucking time. can you guys tell that interstellar changed my brain chemistry when i first watched it as a kid. i need to punch a wall

Somewhere between a headcanon and a theory, but I think Flowey (and possibly Gerson) may have been the only monsters in the entirety of the Underground to realize that Asgore really, genuinely did not want a war.
Just to recap--personally I've always interpreted Toriel's 'plan' as less 'this is what you should have done' and more 'IF you had wanted a war, we both know you would have done this, because that's what our son tried to do. But you didn't, and I should've realized sooner that meant you didn't want a war, either'. I've also thought that, while in the Ruins, Toriel assumed that Asgore absolutely did desire a war, but only when Frisk confronted her did she realize that Asgore didn't want the war, and ALSO desired some sort of way to avert, and that encouraged her to act and interrupt their fight, because she knew everyone involved desired a peaceful resolution.
Additionally, Asgore is idolized by his subjects. Like, to an alarming and unhealthy degree. Not a single one of them says 'Asgore's a coward, I'm gonna take your soul and declare war MYSELF' or 'I want to take your soul and declare war so Asgore doesn't have to!' At most, we get Alphys, Mettaton and Toriel saying 'I'm going to keep Asgore from getting your soul so war is NOT declared,' Papyrus saying 'I will gain fame and popularity by handing you over to Asgore,' and Undyne saying 'I will help save monsterkind by killing you, and giving Asgore the seventh soul'. Asgore's popularity goes beyond a 100% approval rating--Asgore is a GOD to them, practically the living embodiment of his declaration. They all assume that if he says he'll do it, he WILL be the one to do it.
But there appear to be two anomalies in regards to that. Gerson, who recollects that he and Asgore had privately agreed it would actually be better to remain in the Underground. And Flowey, who absorbs seven souls so HE can become a god instead, and who, when he's sure Chara is back again, confesses that he'd be just fine with living on the Surface with them, instead of laying waste to all humanity or anything.
It kinda makes sense though? Flowey ended up in this position because he was once in Asgore's exact position. He had the ability to collect six souls and shatter the barrier in his grasp, but was pressured to go even further and annihilate humanity despite not really wanting to, due to a poorly thought-out promise he made. And when he said no, there were harsh repercussion for both him and the person(s) pressuring him.
Asriel has been in Asgore's situation before. He understands his thought process, and understands the choice Asgore REALLY wants to make. And seeing how he seems to resent his younger self for making that choice and causing so many problems, I think he similarly projects onto and resents Asgore.
Maybe that's why Flowey kills Asgore. Not just to get the six souls. But because once again, a boss monster seeking seven souls didn't want a war anymore. And for once humanity reciprocated that mercy. But if Frisk is allowed to show mercy to that boss monster, then that shakes at his whole worldview, so they CAN'T be allowed to reach a resolution with Asgore--not unless it directly benefits HIM and was all a part of HIS master plan.

I just found this in my drafts and I don’t remember writing it or where exactly I was going with it, but hey! Have some random Gardenshipping thoughts!

For all the silverfox!Emmet x Reina stuff I’ve thought of, for some reason I’ve never thought of Reshiram!Emmet x Reina before? So...
đŸ”„ I imagine Emmet is an aspect of Reshiram - not the god-dragon in full, but a piece of it. He’s probably reincarnated several hundred times by now, as the mortal aspect of Truth, and has memories of all his previous mortal incarnations as well as Reshiram’s memories and probably even a good chunk of Kyurem’s. The man is A Messâ„ąïž, especially after Ingo, his twin, his brother, his other half (platonic, don’t make it weird), vanishes. After all, what is Truth without Ideals to give it purpose?
đŸ”„ That’s why, when he meets Reina and she becomes his personal assistant at Gear Station, he gravitates towards her. Just like in Gardenshipping canon, he starts to fall for her because of her genuinely kind and caring nature; she also has no idea he’s a piece of a fucking god, so she just treats him like a normal person. Not a celebrity trainer, not a deity, just. As Emmet. And he soaks it up like a man dying of thirst. Here’s this beautiful young woman who truly doesn’t care what or who he is, she just wants to make sure he’s eating and sleeping and taking care of himself. How can he not be intrigued by her?
đŸ”„ He can also smell dishonesty a mile away and he can tell Reina is just actually that good of a person. Sure, she lies about her living situation (she doesn’t tell him that she’s unhoused for the longest time), but I’d imagine Emmet can also tell the intent of a falsehood, so he probably picks up on the fact that any lie she tells is born from the need to survive, rather than malice or the desire to mislead. She isn’t hurting anyone - she just wants to keep her misfortunes private, and Emmet can... sooooort of understand that? (He might not like it, it makes him worry about her, but in the end it really only affects Reina herself, which makes Emmet bound and determined to get to the bottom of her problems and help her in any way he can. The man is SMITTEN.)
🍃 On Reina’s side, I honestly don’t think she’s all that religious; Reina is from Kanto originally, and she has a lot of internalized stuff from the local belief system (i.e. she’ll say things like “Legends” or ïżœïżœBirds” in place of “Arceus” or “Dragons”). She’ll probably still have a subconscious desire to believe in something, but she doesn’t actively practice anything. Also, having only been in Unova for a couple of years at most, she might not really understand the region’s religion all that much. She probably doesn’t really think about it - which. Valid.
🍃 That being said, she would probably not know how to handle being face to face with a literal piece of a deity. For starters, her entire worldview would be - at the very least - a little bit shaken. After all, if you go from nearly thirty years of disillusionment and not fully believing in anything because you’ve been through absolute hell, to suddenly finding out the man you’re in love with (and who’s been railing you over his desk every day) is the Incarnation of Truth, you miiiiiight need a moment to process.
🍃 (That last part, especially, because how on earth do you reconcile the fact that you’ve had an actual god between your legs?)
🍃 Reina already has hella self worth issues, so to find out that her boyfriend isn’t even human, she might not handle it well for a while. In her eyes, what could a god possibly see in a lowly human like her? She still loves him, that part will never change, but she’ll have to take some time to try and reorient before she can even work up the courage to go near him again.
đŸ”„ Emmet, in the meantime, is going to be utterly distraught. He’ll put on his trademark Subway Master Emmet smile, but it’ll be hanging on with a hope and a wish, because he is not doing okay knowing that the love of his life might be terrified of him now. He can’t lie, no, but he’s gotten really, really good at talking around the truth after countless lifetimes, so anyone that asks how he’s doing is getting a series of non-answers until he can slip away. Reina makes him feel normal, human almost, which is something he’s never fully gotten to experience - because while he might be a shard of a Dragon, he’s still somewhat his own entity, since he’s, you know, actually out in the world of man and not sitting dormant in a rock somewhere. He’s constantly torn between two halves of his own existence, and the thing that made it bearable all this time was his twin; with Ingo gone, however, Emmet has been feeling the extra weight of responsibility around his shoulders like a yolk for damn near a decade.
đŸ”„ Until Reina.
đŸ”„ (Like in regular Gardenshipping canon, one of the reasons Emmet falls for Reina is because she just treats him like a person. Doesn’t fawn, doesn’t get close to him just to challenge him, doesn’t pity him; just sits with him and lets him be a regular guy.)
đŸ”„ I’m also imagining the way Reina even finds out Emmet is one of the God Dragons of Unova is uhhhhhhh not the most pleasant of circumstances. Probably Team Plasma, but I’m picturing there being some sort of siege on Gear Station or an attack somewhere that requires Reshiram’s attention, and somehow, someway, Reina winds up witnessing Emmet with his more draconian features and spewing ethereal fire. Get that sweet, sweet ‘oh shit’ moment with Emmet turning around, eyes slitted and glowing, claws out, wings sprouting from his back, fire still trickling from between fangs too big for a human mouth, only to see Reina standing there, completely frozen, just staring at him.
đŸ”„ The follow-up conversation is gonna be... a lot.
🍃 I feel like it’ll take about a week or so for her to be able to talk to him again

Which Lord comfort scene is your favorite?
It's fascinating how each has a different approach, but also how different players have had vastly different reactions to each of the 3 of them. People grieve differently, and different things work or don't work for different people. Claude is my favorite because it is such a key point in Verdant Wind. I personally find Edelgard's most compelling followed shortly by Claude. Dimitri's didn't land for me.
Dimitri is an emotions first person so he empathizes, and is angered and grieved, and then swears to kill for Byleth. I personally found his the least compelling or useful it was kinda alienating to me that he made it about himself.
Edelgard tells Byleth to channel their grief into something actionable and useful because the world won't wait for them, what's over is over there's only what can be done about it. It's practical and useful advice that will make Byleth's situation better. I've heard people talk about how they found her approach callous, cold, and heartless. Very interestingly Claude echoes Edelgard in non Golden Deer routes, also saying that the world won't wait for you to grieve. However while Edelgard means it in the sense of a warning that Byleth not fall behind, Claude means it in the sense that it's freeing in the sense of taking a step back and realizing this one tragedy isn't the end, that not all things will always be bad, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Menwhile Claude in his route does something even more actionable than Edelgard by directly taking action to uncover the greater conspiracy surrounding Jeralt. Claude is thus the only house leader to learn Byleth's circumstances as a human experiment a stillborn resurrected by Rhea as well as Byleth's semi human status as someone without a heartbeat This is one of my favorite parts of the game and the game will literally not let you progress without choosing to trust in Claude. Up until this point Claude has been prodding and testing Byleth to see if they are trustworthy and the entrusting of the diary is the moment in which their relationship changes for the better. The plot does not work if Byleth cannot trust Claude.
Claude is the only lord with an equal relationship with Byleth where they aren't emotionally dependent on Byleth. With Edelgard and Dimitri the Byleth supports are a tool to revel more of their character and backstory to the player. Claude's support and the route as a whole meanwhile are about the actual friendship between Claude and Byleth so much so that there is an actual game mechanic mid way through. It's a very compelling story on the themes of trust, from misunderstandings to taking the first step that leap of faith in placing one's trust in another.
Raphael has some of the most generally useful advice though which is to take care of your body, eat regularly, go outside and get some exercise, take things one step at a time.
I heard a hypothesis a while back that I rather like is how each of the lords comforts Byleth in the method they used to overcome struggles in their own lives. There's another one about how Byleth's characterization subtly changes based on the House choice.
An important detail Byleth is the way they 'vibe' with the lords. They caught on to their facades instantly and also a few days before ever getting to pick a house. One thing I think is not always understood properly is that picking a lord subtly changes Byleths characterization. They picked one willingly above the others, and in all interactions from that point forward Byleth has some degree of affinity with them specifically, and their responses and interests seem to lean into the lords personality, priorities, and worldview. For example if I remember correctly in verdant wind white Clouds Byleth at one point can suggest to get some information out of Flayn to a degree it makes Claude uncomfortable. It's not something I see the other routes suggesting. Deer Byleth also has some Claude's curiosity and hunger for knowledge, Likewise Eagles Byleth can lean a little into Edelgards kind of resolve, or Lion Byleth Dimitri's chivalry. The lords comfort scenes have been analysed to also show the flaws of the lords and how they kind of project themselves in these emotional circumstances. If so inclined the player through Byleth can react coldly instead(the issue with Claude is that doing so is a But Thou Must loop messing with that choice.) But the option for Byleth to react positively is more interesting here, and kind of my canon response for the Byleth that would pick them. By that point Byleth has a history with talking to the lords about more complex subjects/feelings and build some chemistry and a sort of Modus Operandi. It's with that context Edelgards aggressive approach to pull themselves together, Dimitri's allowance of grief but also a firm focus on revenge, and Claude being friendy but focused on the mystery at hand don't entirety come out of left field and quite possibly something the route specific Byleths actually appreciate to help snap them out of lethargy due to the appeal to their shared values they established before. If you take Byleth as a single unchanging character or having another route in mind it won't make sense. The comfort scene is but a single step the of development and friendship with that lord depending on context of scenes before and afterwards. (WouterW24)

I love that Ethan is Jewish in your fic. I like that it adds some depth to his character and is especially poignant in zombie-ish settings I think. I was wondering your opinion on non-jewish writers making characters Jewish in fics? Especially in settings that could be especially upsetting for a practicing Jew. Im Jewish but I feel like I barely qualify as both my parents are Jewish atheists and I'm kind of disconnected from my faith so I'm wondering if it would be a bad idea to include such hcs in my fics. Also I was wondering, what do you think about Jewish!Karl Heisenberg?
Oh, thank you! Making Ethan Jewish was initially an impulse decision, but one I felt very strongly about once it was in my drafts. I'm glad it resonates. <3 I do think putting a Jewish character in a zombie setting is such an unexplored area, and if I'm brave enough I definitely want to eventually push on what Ethan's (loose) sense of Jewish faith would make of realizing he's a mold!boy, given Jewish laws around body modification and funeral proceedings...
I personally have no problem with non-Jewish writers writing Jewish characters, though a couple things worth noting here--I fall into the old(?) camp of thinking that generally a mixed/diverse cast more representative of the real world in any story, so long as it is done with respect and good intent (and an open ear to feedback), is for the better, rather than the new (Twitter inspired?) mind that one can only ever write from their own worldview successfully (There's layers and layers of nuance here concerning that debate and what stories one "can" write and where one might be overstepping boundaries, but that's not your question really so I'll not jump into my whole spiel there).
The second thing worth noting, though, as it pertains better to your question and your information on your personal situation... depending on who you ask, I'm not Jewish either, lol! To be clear, I identify as Jewish both religiously & culturally, have Jewish ancestry, and consider myself a practicing Jew--but I'm only ancestrally Jewish through my father. My mother was not born Jewish nor ever converted. Depending on who you ask, I'm not Jewish haha. I see myself as Jewish, as I was raised in no other faith, and according to many reform Jews--the sect I belong to--that's good enough. If you asked many other Jews, though, (hell, if you asked some of my own orthodox ancestors), they'd likely tell you "no!!!".
Rule number one, with Jewish people, in my experience? None of us agree on almost anything lol. Jewish faith is splintered into vastly different sects and practices, these days, and what's acceptable and true to me as a reform Jew likely lines up very little with what's acceptable and true to most Orthodox or Conservative Jews. I guess I say all this for two-fold reasons: One, to not cast any illusions about my Jewishness in order to better appear a "jewish authority," but also to stress that... there's no single good answer for a "jewish authority," because Judaism isn't a singular uniform religion. As the child of non-practicing Jews, you likely already know a lot of this, but it feels worth stressing! To me, if you asked, I'd say you're Jewish if you feel you're Jewish, which entitles you to explore and write about your view of Judaism/Jewish identity however you please--in fics or otherwise.
And for people who aren't Jewish at all, I think it's just worth noting--there's no interpretation of Jewishness that would please all Jewish people lol. I'm sure my interpretation of a Jewish!Ethan would be wildly offensive to some other Jewish people. So much as I say, "write in good faith and listen thoughtfully to feedback," no one should ever be shocked if they're praised by some Jewish people and criticized by others. Like all religious and cultural/ethnic minorities, Jewish people are not a monolithic opinion... we're arguably more splintered than many minorities lmao.
But yes, tldr, my personal opinion? I think you individually have every right to write Jewish character hcs into your fics, just as I think anyone can as long as they do so with respect, restraint, and forethought (&, as a Jew, "barely qualifying" or not, I'd say you personally have more wiggle room than goyim to just...do as you like with your writing about Jewish-ness... when one is basing their fiction off any personal experience, arguments about 'validity' become ridiculous. It's valid if it's true to your experiences and feelings, even if they're not universal! Nothing is universal!). That said--take my opinion with a grain of salt, because I have no more right to give you a "Jewish stamp of approval" than anyone else!
(And on your last note, I'm actually a huge fan of the idea of a Jewish!Karl. My current draft notes for his chapters currently imply his mother was Jewish, but I'm undecided on whether I'll explicitly leave that in. In my heart, though, yes, he's matrilineally Jewish. I think it brings an additional element to his backstory of basically being abducted into a religious cult and stripped of his own identity as a child particularly... poignant... because boy did Christians do this to some Jewish kids, historically!)

For the character ask meme: Shuuhei (Bleach), Idia (Twisted Wonderland), and Maki (Fire Force).
Thank you for the ask, friend! (from this post) I had to think a lot to answer this, and I apologize for the slight delay💜
Shuuhei (Bleach)
Three things we have in Common:
Avoiding violence/conflict: Hisagi really respects Tousen's ideals of taking the "path with the least bloodshed", which can easily translate to avoiding conflict or trying to de-escalate situations rather than fighting. In my line of work, conflict is something we try to resolve peacefully and we actually have to take courses on de-escalation.
Struggling with overwhelming responsibilities: Shuuhei has to step up as the leader for his squad when Tousen betrays them. He was already Lieutenant, and it's not that he becomes captain or gets an assistant, he is just suddenly expected to perform both roles while still remaining at the llieutenant rank. Similarly, when I started the position I am currently in at work, I was handed a large mess of a caseload and expected to manage it entirely, with some support but with me being the most responsible. I am the one providing direction to several other people, and the one they ask questions of when they needed clarification, which is fine but with the size and intensity of the caseload I barely had space to breathe. I had to have a literal breakdown before management tried to actually do anything worthwhile in terms of trying to fix what was happening. And yes, I had been asking them for help for months.
Love of Music: Shuuhei has a guitar he got from the human world, and he loves to practice on it. I also love music and love to practice both singing and the piano.
Three things we don't have in common:
Appearance: I look absolutely nothing like Shuuhei, and my style is nowhere near his. (Though I think he is Very Very Handsome, and his style is really cool and something I wish I could pull off without feeling insecure)
Mood: Shuuhei is calm and stoic most of the time. Yes, I know he struggles with his own fear, but he also embraces it as part of who he is as a soldier, and it doesn't seem to plague him during his every day activities. I am riddled with anxiety and struggle heavily with self-esteem. I may appear calm, but inside my heart is racing.
Physical abilities: Shuuhei is a soldier, he is very physically capable and graceful. I trip over my own feet and clip my shoulder on doorknobs regularly.
Idia (Twisted Wonderland)
Three things we have in common:
Love of cats: I am absolutely ecstatic that it is canon Idia loves cats. I also love cats (especially my own baby) and I love snuggling them. :D
Introversion: Idia is a very introverted character, and is shown more than once to prefer being alone to being in large crowds. That is me to a T. I don't hate people, but I do prefer not to be around massive groups, especially if they're people I don't know.
Sarcasm: Idia is extremely sarcastic when he does talk, and I absolutely love it! I thrive on sarcasm and dry humour.
Three things we don't have in common:
People pleasing: I am a recovering people-pleaser. It is so hard to fight that instinct to just try to make everyone else happy at my own expense. Idia is not that. He does not like going above and beyond for others, which honestly is something I admire because I do need to continue working on setting my boundaries and putting myself first.
Tech-savvy: Idia is extremely tech-savvy. I am not. I can trouble-shoot to a small extent and I can infer things...and I can call the IT help line. Idia would be *running* the IT help line. lol.
Bitterness: Idia tends to have a very bitter worldview. While my own worldview can at times be bleak or a bit gloomy, I tend to be less bitter about things other people do to me and I internalize 'blame' (for lack of a better word), where Idia seems to internalize it a bit less and put more external blame (such as how he blames his parents for the way he treats his classmates in book 6 at Styx; stating that he doesn't want to be there and that it isn't his fault, and that he is suffering too. Not that I'm saying he's doing anything bad or that he's wrong, we just have different ways we look at situations).
Maki (Fire Force)
Three things we have in common:
Insecure about looks: Maki wants to be perceived as very feminine and pretty. She often worries and stresses about her body type, and thinks she is too muscular to be considered pretty. While I may have a softer and curvier body type, I also still stress over my looks and wanting to appear feminine. Because I am a larger person, I often feel my body and my looks come across more masculine. I hate that. I like looking very feminine. It is a huge insecurity for me.
Reluctance for violence: despite being a soldier, Maki does not want to hurt people. She will use force as necessary but that doesn't mean she likes to. I also do not like violence and I try to prevent and/or avoid conflict (depending on the situation).
Silliness: Maki likes using her fire abilities for fun, making little puffballs of flame and naming them. It's really cute, and it shows her silly side a bit, which I really like. I also have a bit of a silly side, and I like cute things similar to what Maki likes, so I identify with that a lot.
Three things we don't have in common:
Clothes: Maki often wears a shirt and jeans when dressed in civilian clothing, and feels as though her body can't pull off dresses and skirts. I go the opposite way, and purposefully wear skirts and dresses as much as I can because 1. I like it and it's comfy and 2. it helps me feel more feminine and less insecure.
Mishearing others: Maki often seems to mishear what others say about her and immediately leaps to the conclusion they are insulting her. She becomes very angry when this happens. I also tend to mishear others, but I prefer to ask for clarification and then laugh off the misunderstanding rather than to immediately jump to accusations and fighting.
Physical abilities: Maki is a soldier and is very skilled in combat. I am not. Once again, I tend to run into things quite a bit and I do not have combat training.
There you go! Hope you enjoyed those answers. Thank you again for the ask, friend!!

OOC Development 001
Tumblr media
[1] what’s the lie your character says most often? Lucas doesn't lie as much as he just doesn't disclose many personal things about himself in the first place. I guess if we're counting white lies then probably that, as he grew up in high society and knows how to charm people if he needs to. If not, then if someone were to ask about his childhood he's not going to talk about how bad it really was, so he might lie about that.
[2] how loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’? Again, he's very closed off to intimacy, so real friends are very rare, but he's also charming so he tends to have people around him often, he likes having company, and he likes chatting and going out, he just rarely thinks about the definitions, specially since a lot of those relationships bleed into sexual relationships.
[3] how often do they show their genuine emotions to others? Nearly never. Depends on the emotion. He's warm, just guarded.
[4] what’s a hobby they used to have that they miss? Photography. He likes things that give him a sense of control, and sees photography as a way to capture exactly what he wants from someone or a scene.
[5] can they cry on command? if so, what do they think about to make it happen? Not really, he's never tried it. And being as disconnected from his feelings as he is, he has trouble doing that even when genuinely upset.
[6] what is the best thing to yell in the middle of a crowd to find them? Pretty boy. I mean---
[7] how loose is their use of the phrase ‘i love you’? Not at all. Unless it's in the "love you, man" sense. He's never said it, otherwise.
[8] do they give tough love or gentle love most often? which do they prefer to receive? Depends. If it's towards a sub, he'll react to the sub themselves and the situation. Otherwise, I guess mostly tough, but again, depends on the person. He'd laugh/ joke off the latter and only tolerate the former from his older brother.
[9] what fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity? Don't know about excitedly, but he does love discussing Doming techniques.
[10] what’s something that makes them laugh every single time? be specific! Dorky and clumsy people, he finds it endearing, specially when they're excited. Same with dumb animal videos.
[11] what’s the most obvious difference between their behavior at home, at work, at school, with friends, and when they’re alone? At home, relaxed. At work / school more serious and focused on success. With friends flirty and fun. When alone more quiet and studious than he seems.
[12] what subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot? Photography, swimming, nature facts, he's fluent in a couple different languages, and likes useless trivia.
[13] what do they tell people they want? what do they actually want? A nice time and success. Not sure if he knows what he truly wants yet, but one of those things is eventually going to be making things better for subs in practice, as he knows abuse and discrimination still exist in several places and has seen first hand how subs can be treated in certain circles, like in high society, and when no one is looking.
[14] what phrases, pronunciations, or mannerisms did they pick up from someone / somewhere else? If he has some it's from his family and general high breeding. I do think he used to mimic Hunter a lot when he was little so he picked up some of his speech patterns, it lessened with time, but you can still tell they're siblings by the way he talks and stands.
[15] what do they commonly misinterpret because of their own upbringing / environment / biases? how do they respond when realizing the misunderstanding? Not sure yet. Probably if he does it'd be things related to his privilege and isolated upbringing, though he's tried to expand his worldview a lot since. He's pretty secure so he doesn't care about making mistakes, meaning he's willing and curious to learn differently and move on.
[16] what’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately? When someone seems to be being obtuse on purpose. Things that are almost neatly perfect but not quite.
[17] are they a listener or a talker? if they’re a listener, what makes them talk? if they’re a talker, what makes them listen? Both. He's adaptable to the person he's with. And if he's genuinely interested in someone he can listen to them talk about themselves for a long time. He likes learning about them.
[18] would they eat something they find gross to be polite? Probably not.
[19] what belief / moral / personality trait do they stand by that you (mun) personally don’t agree with? Can't think of any right now.
[20] what’s a phrase they say a lot? Not a phrase, but he tends to speak more formally specially when he's not with someone he's very comfortable with.
[21] do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting? Facts, always.
[22] what’s something they’re expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate? He likes photography but prefers to have photos developed and physically kept. He doesn't like posting his work or sharing it freely. [23] if they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? does this answer change depending on the type of fear? I think he'd only take that kind of comfort, if it was offered, from his sibling.
[24] what’s a simple daily activity / motion that they mess up often? Can't think of any that is recurrent. He sometimes forgets to eat and skips meals if it counts as a mess up.
[25] how many hobbies have they attempted to have over their lifetime? is there a common theme? A few. Most of them, as mentioned, have to do with control and focus / quiet.

Solas' real fatal flaw is that he is blind to his own bias and lack of information.
He is so buried in the worldview of the ancient elves and it is coloured heavily by his love for Mythal. Mythal's vallaslin originated from the past same as each of the others, which implies that she too had slaves (the practice of keeping them being something Solas abhors) but was 'benevolent and kind' to them and also 'wise enough' to lead them to a better path. The altercation at the Well is proof of Mythal's association with careful thought and information - the Well itself stores memories passed through generations. Many of her myths show her as a masterful judge of situations, able to see both sides of a conflict and determine a path with least bloodshed.
It is Mythal's wisdom (and the loss thereof leading to his own haste and the downfall of the elves) that likely influences Solas' attachment to knowledge, but it also blinds him to nuance. He respects wise leadership greatly, and faults those who act on false information (the wardens.) But what he fails to understand is that he doesn't actually understand or have all the answers about the world in its present state, at least not to the level where he can claim his wisdom leads him to the best possible path forward (if such a thing can actually exist.)
Solas knows one kind of world and exactly how it worked before the Veil destroyed it. The dwarves existed before the fall of Elvhenan, but that society's persistence through the Veil and subsequent destruction to some other catastrophe (the Blight) millenia later does not make him stop and recall that All Empires Eventually Fall. He does not take the time to understand qunari culture and existence. Nor to understand who the elves are now in the fullness of their circumstances, cultural shifts and new and layered practices. Because it is not Familiar it is not Correct. He does not understand how anyone can live Like That, and experience both sorrow and joy. Some of this is of course because of the large timeskip between his world ending and him waking up in the Thedosian present (this world feels like a dream) but instead of actually doing what makes people wise - that is, collecting both information AND experience on the ground, he assumes he already knows enough, knows BETTER, and that if everyone else did too, then of course they would choose his path/agree with him.
I think this is made most obvious in his scene with a romanced Lavellan where he tells of her the markings original meanings and in her shocked moment before she can process things offers to remove them. But Solas... its been 5000 years??? If not more?????? Symbols change! People in Thedas don't live forever anymore! Their lives are short, and the meanings assigned to things WILL change naturally over time. Language, for example, progress in Thedas: Dorian can no more read ancient Tevene than the elven inquisitors can read ancient elven. This is not an indictment of the knowledge held by those in the present, it is merely the nature of the progression of time.
It's unfortunate that the best analogue for Solas in the game is in fact Corypheus. As Dorian says, "the Imperium he remembers doesn't exist anymore" and it is the same for the rest of Thedas. The Veil may have accelerated the shift, but realistically, Arlathan took another 1000 years to fall to the humans. The elves might have lost power in some other way even if all he'd done was kill the Evanuris and freed everyone else. But, because he believes he has knowledge above all others, and that his knowledge is more complete than anyone else, he cannot possibly entertain the idea that he is wrong. His name being 'Pride' suits him well.
i can 100% understand loving solas for the complex character he is but i just cannot understand i CANNOT understand people seeing him go "hmmmm... dwarves are just severed limbs imitating life without a purpose... hmmm... qunari are savage barbarians... hmmmm... the modern elf might as well be stupid uneducated tranquils... and that's why i justify genociding them!!"
and be like
"omg you guys what if solas is right??? food for thought teehee."
think about what you are sayiinnngggggg.

MGANGA MOMBASA @ MgangaMGANGA MOMBASA @ Mganga Love and Tradition: Exploring the Cultural Significance of Mganga wa Mapenzi Muchindu In this blog post, we explore the cultural significance of Mganga wa Mapenzi Muchindu in Nairobi 2 Mombasa . We delve into the traditional beliefs and practices that influence the popularity of love doctors in the city. By examining the role of spirituality and ancestral connections, we shed light on how these love doctors are deeply rooted in Nairobi's cultural fabric. Readers will gain a deeper understanding of the intersection between love, tradition, and spirituality in the city's dating landscape. How to Order Binding Love Spells That Always Work Have you ever noticed that we only purchase products and services that come highly recommended? Whether it’s an appliance repairman, a hairstylist, or a dancing instructor, if someone gives them a well-deserved praise, most likely we’ll be satisfied with their work too. Example of A Complicated Relationship And A Very Complicated Love Binding Spell Imagine yet another situation where someone you love is not noticing you. Imagine that he doesn’t like you as a person or future spouse, or he already has somebody he loves and cares about. Or maybe he’s with her because she is good for his business somehow or she can help him move up the career ladder. A simple binding love spell won’t work in this case. Furthermore, even traditional “love rituals and binding spells suiting a wide variety of purposes” will be ineffective. Not only do you have to entirely alter a man’s preferences and worldview, but you also have to end his relationship in order to make him yours and break the relationship in such a way that nobody wants to go back. This task is challenging, especially if it seeks to develop a connection as well as to protect your karma. When Even A Simple Ritual Of Binding Ruins A Client’s Karma If karma were a brochure, it would contain just a few brief pages: - You must not act evilly and to bear evil. - You should cherish your inner light. - You and the binding spell caster are the only people who are permitted to access the page where your specific karmic tasks are listed. That is, if you request that they research your karma. People invented courts and police to punish offenders because they had little faith in karma. But even those who have been found guilty of a crime must endure the dreadful torments of karma while serving their sentences in jail. If you commit any evil with the aid of prohibited binding spells, you do not go to jail, but still become a criminal. Karma will use all of its resources to make you pay for this crime. Committed to Making Magic Binding Lovers the Safest Every person is in charge of their own fate. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to protect themselves against hasty decisions and avoid mistakes.
