Alright so this goes for the “canon” too, not just the rps

Anyways it gets long so under the cut it goes!

Sans gaster was a great father to sans and papyrus in the beginning. Even after they lost their mum when papyrus was a baby, Gaster stayed strong for his sons. Sans was his pride and joy, his firstborn and his successor. Papyrus was the memory of his late wife, a lovely baby

However gaster made a horrible discovery. You see he was always had a love for the void. The space between every alternate universe. At the time though, it was seen as a miniature universe or a pocket space. People even stored stuff in it. Only the parts closest to their AU was ever seen

Gaster was a genius and he was determined to explore farther into the void than ever before. He created a machine that could do this, and he discovered the tears.

You see, the void was unstable and had been for ages. Every year it slowly unraveled more and more. Think of it like a space ship. Inside the ship, things are stable, but if a hole ever appears, everything inside gets sucked up and thrown out into space, and that’s what every au was to the void. A little ship floating in space

He theorized that if the voids tears grew large enough, every au would collapse and it would be the end to everything. He slowly went crazy with this knowledge, working longer and longer hours trying to find a solution to the mess

In the end, gasters dear and paranoia led him to experimenting on sans, the only one who he ever hinted to at his research, causing sans to be stuck in a time loop (the resets) until the void finally collapsed

However gaster didn’t predict that instead of destroying all the AUs, the collapse would simply lead to the void reorganizing itself, making a completely new universe. (And if anyone could explore it these days, they wouldn’t see any more tears. Apparently this happens every couple billions of years but they don’t know that)

Now wines side:

Wines mother (not gaster) was the head scientist of his AU and also obsessed with the void. However when discovering the tears, before she could make any theories on it, she was assassinated to keep the information from leaking

Wine was originally supposed to follow in her footsteps and become her successor, but with her early death, covered up by the fact that she had just had coffee as an excuse, his father (gaster) had him shipped to the royal guard instead

Wine has always felt like he was missing something, and in his teens he found some of his mothers research she hid before her death. It was incomplete, and when he went to his fathers for answers, they got into a huge fight. His gaster threatened to get rid of him and put coffee in his place instead, and wine snapped, pushing him into the core killing him.

In an ironic twist, sans gaster also died by falling into the core. Except he was thrown in by his machine exploding. Sans tried to catch him but just missed him instead

To wine, the research is the last memory he has of his mom, and he wanted to understand what she died for, so when he got wind of sans having something similar he jumped on it

To sans, his fathers research was the cause of everything bad in his life. And having it get out to anyone would only bring trouble. It’s why sans was so resistant to wine finding it!

Anyways it was papyrus who convinced sans to compare notes with wine as his first steps of healing from his past. For sans this was a way of letting go and freeing himself from the fear. For wine it was getting closure and getting a piece of the happiness he used to have

A Linked Universe meets The Dark Crystal AU! I don't even remember what started it at this point. I remembered that the Dark Crystal and Age of Resistance are things I like, blinked, and woke up three days later with an AU and a bunch of art.

The designs and the story are a wip and for fun so expect a lot of variation! (I have a few different beginnings, ideas for different designs, etc)! :D

You have no idea how normal I am about my monster OCs. They're so lovely just let me—ahhh!

Hawthorn is a Mothman monster. His wings are based on the garden tiger moth and he is so fluffy! He has a thick fuzz on his neck and chest and is a warm, cuddlebug. He also possesses bright orange eyes that pierce the darkness and startle the unfortunate late-night hikers or anyone piercing into the woods after midnight.

He has a thing for hanging out in the thick woods near where the MC lives. Wherever he goes, bad omens follow. He really shouldn't be near MC—he knows he'll be the death of his precious little human, but he can't help it. He's drawn to the MC like a moth to a flame (heheh). He's delightful and gentlemanly, but don't let that fool you. He's got a possessive stretch a mile wide and does not take kindly to anyone giving the MC looks or reaching out for a too-familiar touch. He will bristle and buzz, and fly swift and silent through the darkness to chase after anyone to ensure the MC stays all to himself. He is a bad omen, after all.

Grease is an oil demon! He feeds off of fear, literally, and delights in terrifying people in the night. His body is slick and iridescent, and he is constantly dripping black goo from his person. He is capable of shifting his form to hide in a puddle, slink underneath doors, or bubble through a crack in a broken window. He's got wicked sharp teeth, and eyes like a tiger but with a pale, unsettling blue color. He possesses tendrils on his head that constantly drip and a long, slick tail that he can use to grab MC by the ankle. He's terribly seductive and charming, terrifying but mischievous. He likes to say 'boo' just to watch MC jump. Of course, he's not all tang and salt. He's got a sweet side that rouses in a protectiveness over MC. He's possessive, sure, and he's marked his claim with the oil stains on MC's work apron, but he's got an ooey-gooey center of sweetness that MC occasionally finds when he blushes at a stray touch or a nice comment about him.

Calmo 91, otherwise just called Calmo, is a robot. Constructed in the 90s with a box TV screen head to match, he has bright yellow optics in the screen face along with thick wires falling behind his head in a ponytail-like fashion. He is cool and difficult to read but wickedly intelligent and learning much about humans and affections. His body is a thin endoskeleton with plastic matt gray coverings that give peeks of blue, red, and yellow wires at his metallic joints. He's got a mysterious past the MC is attempting to unravel that he truly wishes the MC would leave be. He's got much to learn about technology but he quickly figures out how to connect to the MC's phone for texting, phone calls, and other useful things of course, like keeping tags on where MC is and monitoring MC's heart rate. Useful tools. Modern technology. Living in the MC's house, he gets to spend more domestic time with the human he decided is kind and generous, but the MC occasionally finds him at the foot of the bed in the darkness, his yellow optics strangely switched to red until the MC says his name and his optics revert back to yellow again.

“Mu Qing is too logical for his own good” is such a real problem that he deals with and as tragic as it makes his life I also think it’s really funny when someone is accusing him of something and instead of telling them to shut up or leave him alone the first thing he does is pull out the 95 fucking theses detailing every single thing wrong with their argument WITH historical evidence and additional considerations from scholarly psychology articles, MLA format works cited and completely annotated. hi copper!!! this is a fantastic question!

so obviously typical irl rats have far shorter lifespans than the average irl tortoise. according to google (yes, be awed by my spectacularly in-depth wealth of research) the average pet rat lives between 2-4 years ish, and the oldest on record lived to be about 7. meanwhile, an African spurred tortoise (Splinter's species) averages more around a 50ish year lifespan in captivity, tho is suspected to possibly exceed 75 or more in the wild.

Now, the mutation does give us a lot of wiggle room for playing with these numbers. For the rat sons boys, id say their natural lifespan probably clocks in at about 45-55 years old? definitely not old by human standards, but not young young either. (though, its also important to note that the boys were exposed to the mutagen just days after being born.)

For Splinter, meanwhile, aging is slightly more complicated. He lived the vast majority of his life as a regular normal African spurred tortoise (well, non-mutated at least. there were perhaps some shenanigans of a more mystical variety going on before he was mutated, but thats a separate matter) He was about 70ish i think? when the boys were born and they were all exposed to the mutagen. so he is already distinctly an old man turtle papa. id guess he'd probably still have another eh lets say 25-30 years after his mutation. he could probably push it a little farther even with some mystic nonsense, but when push comes to shove id say his 'natural' post-mutation lifespan would put his death like a solid decade or two before his sons.

of course, the tricky part of the matter is that theres no way for Splinter to know any of this. theres no way for him to know how the mutation affected them all, or if it even affected them all in the same way. especially since the boys dont show many physical signs of mutation for the first few years, and just kinda look like normal rats, (albeit with a more human sort of intelligence) — what sort of health standard do you hold them to? what if they simply dont show external signs of sickness or old age anymore? how do you actually know if something is wrong?

for a while there Splinter is very worried that one of his babies will just essentially reach the end of their normal rat lifespan, fall and not get up again.

so mostly, he just tries to live in the moment, enjoying whatever time he does have with his little ones, taking each day as a gift <3

About Y/n:

y/n is an astronomer living in an observatory they inherited from their grandfather in the outskirts of a small town. y/n wanted to become an astronaut but sadly due to the stroke they suffered they feel they can no longer become one >:'( y/n had suffered from a stroke and became partially paralyzed in their left side (hemiplegia) they can still move these limbs but with great difficulty.

with y/n spending more and more time alone their grandfather had gotten concerned and gifted them a companion animatronic (he got them custom sun and moon themed because he loves his grandchild very much) so they wouldn't get lonely (also sun and moon help y/n with shopping and other chores yknow)

y/n spends most of their time indoors studying and researching, this has led to poor selfcare as y/n will often sleep at their desk instead of their bed (sun and moon do not like this one bit)

About Sun and Moon:

In the beginning y/n didn't like sun or moon AT ALL, they felt it was unnecessary because "I don't need someone messing up my very important organisation! they'll just get in the way!" *cut to papers and pens scattered across the floor*

Sun and Moon are companion bots, though they also count as care bots. They don't really care about space or the world at first and only did what they we're built to do until they hear y/n rambling and muttering to themselves and get curious and ask what's up. *CUT TO SUN AND MOON GOING STARRY EYED LISTENING TO Y/N TALK ABOUT SPACE*

They've slowly made a bond and often share days and nights talking about all the possibilities of other planets, aliens, whats inside a black hole and what-not.

Sun and Moon charge through solar power and cable. sometimes they lie about their cable being faulty so y/n can come outside with them. "cmon y/n! we need to charge and our cable is brokenn you dont want us to lose power do youu :(" "YOU GO TO TOWN ON YOUR OWN WHY DO I NEED TO COME WITH YOU OUTSIDE???" and then y/n goes with them anyways lolol

i had this in my miind for a while, but i was really hoping that Shadeclaw will eventually realize that maybe staying in hostile, tense environment that hates outsiders and everyone who isnt on your side of the piss border isnt good and that there are better things to do and better ways to die that get killed over piss lines, and so forgive her brother. in the far future. maybe she could find an outsider mate and be faced with the same decision.

but she is dead now, so she will probably keep the grudge forever.

first of all anon i’m obsessed with the way you worded this. piss border? real.

second of all: part of what i think makes shadeclaw so tragic (and something i wasn’t able to elaborate on) is that her and her brother were originally outsiders as well! while shadeclaw really thrived in getting to be around other cats and in the clan structure, swiftseeker had a really hard time accepting these rules that came out of nowhere— it’s hard to go from being free to being told what to do, even if it is for your own good. it’s why he says this when he tells conkerbright about wanting to run away:

them joining the clan was out of necessity first and foremost. he wants his sister to be safe. i do think it was his intention to go back for his sister someday (probably after being faced with the reality that surviving on your own is incredibly difficult!), but that doesn’t take away the fact that he left. he leaves her behind because he knows she will do better there than constantly being on the run, which is the life he wants to live, but of course she doesn’t know that.

so her resentment doesn’t come from hating outsiders outright, but hating that her brother, who she looked up to and loved more than anything, who she had always had by her side, left her behind without (she thinks) a second thought.

i also think her sacrifice was in a way driven by that— her brother is gone, and if he wanted to come back, he would have come back by now. what else is she supposed to do? if she lives, he’s still gone, and might die anyway. if she dies, she dies protecting the family she’s found— and maybe she’ll see him on the other side.

the thing they have in common is that instead of chaos energy causing the transformation from ant to mobian, it was the prism shards (which is why the eye colours are different)

she represents matilda's fighting side

a feisty member of the resistance who delights maybe a little too much in fighting

her closest friends are rebel and, shockingly, knux

they took her in after she escaped from the council post transformation

she's really intense, with less self control than matilda, she's always got a wild grin on her face in battle, and its a bit scary sometimes

her and knux started making bets on who can smash the most bots in a given fight

tilda

tilda is matilda's connection to nature and her origin as a little ant

she's just a little guy who lives in the woods with her ant friends

she transformed during thorn's rampage and got a bit of a beating before she really knew what was happening

she doesn't speak (she didn't learn how) and instead makes little noises she picked up from different critters

the little bugs and animals are her friends!!!!

sonic named her (he's not very creative)

there's a loneliness about her

tempest

tempest is matilda's revenge played completely seriously. she's on a mission and is not at all interested in fun

oh tempest.....by far the most different from matilda

a member of dread's old crew, she fought against the idea of him taking the shard, due to feeling connected to it

it didn't go well and left her with some scars

which sets her on a quest for revenge

tempest is matilda without much of matilda at all. she's focused, intense, and angry

I'll go into more detail eventually...but she ends up leaving her shatterspace with sonic, reluctantly working with him to ensure the safety of the shards

she interacts with shadow the most. it goes. very well

I had to put everything under the cut because this is a hella long post so everyone else just look at these cute farcille babies and rock on

HI HOWDY!! Laios is obsessed with these little freaks (he would never call them that though cause he would literally die for them if needed) He’s essentially been right by Falin and Marcille’s side since day one when it came to the babies! He’s a surprisingly good uncle but definitely that one where he gives the kids gifts that the parents are like “YEAH NO- he’s 8 he doesn’t need a crossbow”

He definitely gives the kids little trinkets he gets from foreign dignitaries since I don’t picture Laios really liking all the gifts and gold and money people will give him to butter him up when he catches onto it. The cool monster stuff stays with him though, but he’ll let the kids look at anything cool he gets that he decides to keep for his personal collection. I like to imagine that when he holds them he always keeps them to the side of his hip, real mom type stance when he’s holding them.

Secondly, GREAT QUESTION!! They have a little bit of both! Haru (the cream colored baby) has feathery down covering his ears, chest, and wings as well as basically anywhere else that he isn’t scaly or covered in soon to be thought flesh. He’s more of a dragon from the waist down but bird from the waist up like Falin was.

His sister Haize (the apple red one) has the most scales! (But the least feathers out of the pair) Haize has more of that traditional dragon look and unlike Haru, she’s dragon basically to the neck up. She has scrawny little forearms that aren’t quite attuned to walking yet but once she grows they’ll become a lot more useful for the crawling around stage of her infancy! Haru will often try to climb on her back because he wants to be fast too- he’s only a little guy but he still hates that she got the extra limb genes where he didn’t.

Both have wings though the down that Haru has makes it a bit difficult for him to fly, though he really grows to enjoy flapping and the flutter of his wings! Haize has more sleek featherless dragon wings which make her flight process a bit easier, though her longer body means that her flying is quite silly (it’s like when you pick a cat up by their middle and they just dangle, imagine that but with flight and her trying to tuck her limbs in to have less weight pulling her down). Both have claws on their dragon halves as well as spikes/spines on their backs though only Haize has been born with the making for clawed hands, Haru grows into his later in life!

Really Falin and Marcille are glad that the kids are in relative captivity, Haru’s inherited the “head empty, no thoughts, tee hee” touden genes and they’re like 75 percent certain that he would get eaten if natural selection had its way - assuming Haize didn’t protect him ofc. Haru is very sleepy as a baby while Haize is very cranky. She likes to sleep on her back but her itty bitty dragon wings get cramped when she does and sleeping on her side isn’t as a comfy. Aside from that she just likes attention and being with her parents which is tough due to their jobs.

Haru has colic due to the light magic that manifests in his stomach pouch organ! He was born with an organ similar to the one red dragons have that allows them to breathe fire! It allows him to conjure and manifest light and can be weaponized if a dragon knows what they’re doing. Really it’s much more useful as bioluminescence for dragons who dwell in darker dungeons as it allows them to lure in prey and the pouch’s brightness grows as a dragon approaches somewhere stacked with mana and magic which is an easy way to find enemies or food! Typically light dragons are very powerful but a rare find as they’re often incredibly soft and unable to protect themselves as babies as well as their newly born pouches which let off a lot of glow due to basically incubating for a year or so and refuse to dampen until they learn to properly dispel their magic via spells. Not to mention how easy of a target it is for their obvious weak spot, one bad slash to the tummy and ur done.

Most dragon babies learn early as having that much magic in you hurts a LOT but Haru takes a lot while to learn it, though Falin soon learns that pressing on his stomach and conjuring her own light magic to siphon Haru’s own eases a lot of his tummy aches and pains.

oh, he’s in it for the long haul. i think after time has done its damage, he would go from being inconsolable to a long period of complete and utter shutdown. who knows, maybe he takes to scaring folks in the end. at some point, that becomes the only thing a ghost can really offer, right? when connection is that temporary it loses its meaning. the only way he can touch the real world anymore is through fear.

or you know, he could fulfill his dying wish and ascend to the afterlife. i want him to have a happy ending in one universe or another

Oh you're not dumb, don't worry! It really is a little confusing because we haven't talked about who they or we are in a very long time. I'm going to talk a lot here so you have all the context you might need! If it''s too long,, the TL;DR above is the gist of it.

Kris T and Kris P are TWO Kris introjects/fictives of Kris Dreemurr from Deltarune in our system.

Originally we just had Kris T who split in Dec 2018, and then when Chapter 2 came out, Kris P came into our system after that. Of course at first, Kris T. was just "Kris", but since we had a double now, we had to figure out how to differentiate between the two. We knew another Kris fictive from a different system at this time who was nicknamed P. Kris by Susie in our system, and susie wanted to emphasize who she was talking about.

SO. As a small nod to that, everyone decided to nickname Kris P as Kris P, as an inverse of P. Kris.

A little convoluted, I know!

Besides being Kris introjects/fictives though, they also look different! I made some new drawings to try and showcase their differences if that helps :3?

Their dark world forms also look different. Kris T's is simpler, with a shiny soft cape, while Kris P's is more complicated with a hooded cape, which is also described as "very comfortable"
