#context trại hè phương nam (southern summer camp?) is just an exchange program for high school students in southern part of vietnam to meet #(actually we also take tests in our specialized subjects but thats my least fav part about it)#like one day my eng teacher asked me if i was up for a 3-day trip to cần thơ lol #i was like um let me ask my mom first #my mom agreed so i was like hmm its my first time travelling for more than a day without my parents so okay why not #and then in july i went to can tho with some students from diff classes and my two friends from my english specialized class #after arriving there we stayed at a hotel n i got paired with a girl from the maths specialized class #bro she was super pretty and friendly that i literally had a combination of bisexual panic and social awkwardness at the same time #she was the one who made the first conversation and we befriended eachother #so in the afternoon i decided to stick with her n her friends n a teacher to go out for dinner #(we even held hands while walking gldfkksjcjg i definitely had an ultimate bisexual crisis at that time)#after having dinner n strolling around for a while we came home and slept for the tomorrow’s tests lol #bro i swear the english test at the summer camp was so ass #after that we had a party to meetup with other students from diff schools (it was mid)#heres the fun thing:#my roommate whom i’d mentioned earlier asked me to go to the karaoke with her #at first I denied but the karaoke was like. giving a discount for a group of 10 people #and she was just literally begging for one more person to come with her n her friends to fill the group #so i was like what the hell sure #and that was one of the best decision id ever made #(u guys can guess what happened by finding that one skibidi karaoke pic i posted here a long time ago)#we spent time there until midnight n headed back to the hotel lol #the last day was pretty normal ig #we just went to earn the prizes (i got 3rd place n got a fakeass bronze medal because the test turned me into an ooga booga creature)#but. BUT #the part when our english team took pictures together was SO UNEXPECTED to me #3 like and i’ll make another post to elaborate it

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #wen qing #wen ning #Sibling similarity but you only see it when you realize they have the same soggy eyes.#These two always struck me as a bit of a play on Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli for 'siblings who contrast each other.#But after spending a lot more time marinating on Wen Ning I actually think they are way more similar that is initially apparent.#Sure their surface level personality traits are pretty contrastive. But they both are so willing to risk their lives for what's right #Who raised them? In a story so full of examples of how parents shape their children - why are these two lacking in parents?#I imagine that Wen Qing is the older sibling and so her morals of 'help those who need it no matter who they are' got passed a long.#But how did *she* arrive there? Was that instilled within her or was it a reaction against bearing witness to callousness and cruelty?#We'll never know..the only thing I can say for certain is Wen Qing is *so* soggy in the audio drama.#She's like the ant with the bindle. It's a hell of a way to bring a previously sharp tongued character back into the narritive.#Side note: Thank you all for being so patient and kind while I took my break!#It's been a very chaotic few weeks and I didn't realize how bad my burnout was getting. I'm back and ready to keep drawing again!

i have many thoughts on lee gilyoung and kim dokja but i fear i may explode if i try to articulate them fully

there is something to be said in the way kdj and orv as a whole really tends to sidestep lgy. like kdj cares about lgy of course. and orv obviously wants us to care about lgy or else they would have killed him off for shock value or fridged him way earlier than they did or something. and yet he remains in the main story but still on the sidelines

i think there is something very sad to be said about how kdj very openly tends to love on/lavish attention onto sys and like consciously acknowledge that she is, in many ways, his daughter, yet doesnt really do the same for lgy. there is something very sad to be said about the way kdj tends to refer to sys individually, but only to lgy in the collective "kids." there is something very sad in the way kdj saw himself in lgy the first time he saw him on the subway and saw him both as a boy to be saved and a tool to be used and i dont think their relationship ever really recovered from this.

like he cares about them because he doesnt want to be a shitty father-figure but hes a shitty father-figure because he cares. and while sys is saved from the brunt of this to a degree because shes a character so he can just mimic how yjh treats her in worldlines where she's saved and get by on that, lgy doesnt have that kind of support. lgy is not a fictional wunderkid or pitiable, fragile little girl (however true or false that assessment of sys is). hes a snot nosed foul mouthed violent boy obsessed with bugs and death and kdj, i think, knows he ought to care for him but he doesnt know how and doesnt bother to learn and that, i believe, the not-bothering that is, is what truly incriminates him as a shitbag father. hes afraid so he doesnt try and lgy spends 90% of orv being terrified kdj secretly hates him and the worst part is hes almost right
