It's so funny to me that the fandom has come to see Hirano as a Sasamiya promoter of sorts because while he is, it took him some time to get accustomed to the idea of them together. And while he was never a hater Sasaki's actions towards Miyano certainly used to get on his nerves.
At first he was so worried and probably even felt a little guilty because (as mentioned in the following screenshot) because the only reason why Sasaki knows which class Miya is in, is thanks to him.
But like, that's not the face of a friend that's happy to play cupid and get their two acquaintances together. Not at all, that's the face of someone who puts his sempai-kouhai relationship with Miyano over his (pseudo) friendship with Sasaki.
Hirano from the first chapters would have jailed Sasaki if he were allowed to. (And he has his reasons, Sasaki has been something since the first chapters)
Anyway, the progression of events is really interesting.
He started, quite literally, shielding Miyano from Sasaki.
Then, he came to accept their relationship.
And at the end he really was rooting for them, to the point he ended up outright lying just so Miyano could meet Sasaki and they could talk it out and confess.

lmfao so I'm not out to my parents (cuz they're Chinese and Christian) and neither is my brother. but it is absolutely hilarious how oblivious they are. like ok for reference this is a list of things that have happened that really should've tipped them off
"don't choke on the boba" "not the only thing I've choked on"
my brother's gay romance manga that was left out on the kitchen table for a month
our mutual obsession with GIVEN
our mutual obsession with Good Omens
my personal obsession with the "gay pilot movie"
the pride flag he has in his room.
the pride flag I have in my room.
"安安 don't you think that guy's hot?" "no."
"达达 [my brothers nickname] when are you gonna get a girlfriend?" "uH THE FINANCES AREN'T IN PLACE YET"

Was talking to @cawcawbeech yesterday and accidentally came up w a Kylan parents AU so I wanted to draw the kid hehe
More info abt this guy below the cut
He was an accidental and very unexpected pregnancy, the fact he was such an impossible odd is the main reason Kaz decided to keep him even though he was very uncertain about if he should be a dad at the time. He spent the second half of the pregnancy at Colm's farm in Novyi Zem where he also gave birth.
Johannus lives with Wylan and Jesper at the mansion. Wylan's staff believe that he was adopted from Novyi Zem and that Wylan is being a single father with Jesper's help.
Kaz visits as often as he can, which is usually once a day, to spend some time with him. He tries his best to be there for him, he's a bit distant and awkward at times, but Johannus can see that he is really trying his best and appreciates that.
Wylan is very excited to be a dad, especially given that he never thought he could be, but he's also very nervous of hurting his son the same way he'd been hurt. Initially he's a bit too gentle with his parenting, but over the years he learns how to be both kind and assertive. He's a very dedicated parent so he and Johannus are very close.
Jesper helped a great deal with helping raise him, Johannus sees him as a bit of a third parent and the two of them are very close.
Kaz, Wylan and Johannus often go on vacations together which is the only times they're really together as a family.
Johannus is probably the only person who got to know the real Kaz first and Dirtyhands second. As he grew up and slowly learned about Kaz's reputation he mostly just found it very strange because the Kaz Ketterdam seemed to know was nothing like the Kaz he knew.
Given that Kaz carried Johannus and took care of him as a newborn, Kaz finds physical affection with Johannus easier than with anybody else. He struggles to be emotionally open with his son so he finds it easier to show love through kissing and cuddling. But mostly he likes spending quality time with him, playing, reading books, etc.
Johannus and Kaz have a bit of a distant relationship at first. But when Johannus turns 13, Kaz lets him hang out with him in the Barrel (assuring his safety every step of the way ofc) and after finally seeing what his father's life is like and what he gets up to, Johannus finally feels closer to him and the two of them get along great after that (also bc the two of them are very similar personality-wise).
He has dyslexia just like Wylan, but his is less severe (he can still read, he just struggles with it). Initially Wylan has a hard time accepting it, terrified of his son suffering the same way as he had. But as he sees everyone accepting Johannus with ease and him never feeling ashamed of himself, he learns that his dyslexia was never the problem, his father was.

It's so interesting and so exceedingly frustrating how agab is being utilized now within the queer community as a way to isolate and sort nonbinary and genderqueer folks into binary boxes that determine their moral purity levels, and their authority to do and write and exist.
The way nonbinary writers are being put under accusation of fetishizing gay men while their AGAB is continually brought up in a way that feels like queer-space-approved misgendering.
The way feminist circles that are supposedly trans-inclusive will use the word AFAB in a way that implicitly but intentionally isolates nonbinary people who aren't AFAB from joining. It's for women*.
The way the language is already flawed and leaves out intersex folks from the conversations while focusing on a binary of sex that isn't truthful.
The constant obsessing over whether someone is AFAB or AMAB and whether or not that gives them the privilege to join, do, write, or be present in certain spaces really really concerns me. How are we supposed to dismantle a binary system of gender if we can't even move past forcibly assigning and focusing on people's genders assigned at birth?

hi! i was just wondering if you still plan on continuing with once in a blue moon, or any of the other fics that were part of the falling star series?🥺 completely understand if you've been needing a break or if it's not happening anymore, i was just curious and i miss the boys <3
I SO AM!! Thank you for asking, anon!! Because I MISS THEM, TOO 😭
I can confidently state that Jean's POV is done at this point, and I am now in the midst of Jeremy's 🥰. And to prove I'm not lying, here - have some Jeremy angst 🤣:
Jeremy heaves out a breath. He whips away from her before turning back. “How long?”
Laila winces again, and Jeremy knows. He knows without her having to say anything, so he snags his backpack from the chair and immediately starts walking.
“Jer!” he hears Laila call behind him, but he doesn’t stop. He walks and walks, feet burning across the pavement until he reaches his jeep. He throws his backpack in, puts the vehicle in drive, and whips out of the parking lot. Minutes later, he’s racing down the highway.
He hunches over the steering wheel, his back curved, and his hands gripping the steering wheel so tight that his joints ache from the pressure. So he purposefully straightens his spine and takes deep breaths in. He blasts his music over the speakers, the bass thumping so loud that it drowns out all his thoughts. A sheen develops over his skin from sweat, the sun pelting down on him, and it’s good. The discomfort is good; anything to distract him from the downward spiral his whirling brain threatens to plunge into.
A little over an hour later, he pulls into the parking lot of Corona Del Mar State Beach Park and lays his head against the wheel, breathing in the salty sea air. He stays there for a good five minutes before he opens the car door and wanders down the path toward the beach.
Once he reaches the end of the wooden pier, he takes off his sandals and feels the soft crunch of sand beneath his feet, wiggling in between his toes. His hands brush over the feathered heads of the dune grass as he walks until the waves come into view. Soft, white sand gives way to a firmer landscape, brown and water-laden, with a rogue shell appearing here and there. He walks along the coastline until he finds a cozy little craig of rock, barely touched by the soft swell of sea waves. There, he takes a seat before he pulls out his phone and makes a call.
“Jeremy. Hey,” Kevin answers on the other line. “What’s up?”
Immediately, Jeremy hears a racket in the background; a bunch of whistling, kissing noises, and teasing, lilting tones burst through the speaker that have Kevin hissing.
Jeremy smiles a little at the teasing before he answers softly, “Hey.”
There’s a slight pause. Then, the noises in the background fade away, and Kevin clearly moves somewhere quieter. His volume matches Jeremy’s tone when he finally answers. “Jeremy? What’s the matter? Is something wrong?”
