If you think that’s what a trans woman looks like you are transphobic and also an asshole. I don’t like you. I don’t like what you stand for.
Listen guys I know they didn’t make all longlegs fans surrender their critical thinking skills when they walked into the theater so whats with this behavior on tumblr.
Im saying longlegs reminds me of the history of transphobic horror that has played a huge role in the villainizing of trans people and how its effects are still found today in modern horror whether its implicit of explicit. But im glad you believe and trust the cis actor who used a derogatory word for intersex people when describing the character and the cis writer who based the movie heavily on silence of the lambs over other trans people. Personally I usually like to hold off on parasocial relationships with men in positions of power but you do you!

guys im sooo fucking sick of these annoying longlegs fans crawling all of my post. People online lack reading comprehension so bad and have to jump through hoops to try and make me think the incredibly influential and famous actor nic cage saying something transphobic about the character HE portrayed in the film isnt as important as the writers intention. The writers can intend whatever they want it doesnt change the impact and Ive seen and heard the impact and Ive seen these fans harass trans women who spoke about longlegs being trans misogynistic while others turn around and try to claim IM transphobic (very funny this is how i know they’ve never seen my account before) for having historical context and knowledge of the horror genres intensely engrained transphobia.
It sucks because the post was mainly about longlegs being a drop in the bucket of horror and i spend only one page really focused on the movie itself and the rest focused on the rise of transphobia in the US and horrors historic ties with other examples like Buffalo Bill.

Do remember this did not start on October 6th/7th that was a retaliatory attack after 74 YEARS of genocide. this has absolutely been the deadliest year but it is not the first year of genocide or occupation by any means and that attack never would’ve happened if it weren’t for nearly a century of occupation and genocide

Today is october 7th officially marking 365 days, 1 year, of the most well recorded genocide in history; of an occupation of a people which has been ongoing for 76 years. An entire year of constant israeli bombardment. Hundreds of thousands killed and missing. All the while, the people with the most power to stop the genocide continue to support and defend the politicians carrying out the slaughter.
Yet, it is also a year since the Palestinian resistance definitively proved to the world that israel is not only not the all-knowing state entity many believed nor that they were invincible or undefeatable. Over the course of the year, the resistance and its allies in Lebanon and Yemen have handed out defeats to not just israel but the west lead by the united states as well proving that those institutions and militaries are not invincible.
In israel itself, tens of thousands of bsuinesses are closing or have closed; its ports are under blockade; the settlers are fighting amongst themselves or leaving; it is a settler colony beginning to buckle under the simultaneousforces of its internal contradictions and of the Palestinian resistance. No doubt the struggle for liberation and against settler colonialism will continue until all the contradictions are resolved just as it were it rhodesia and south africa.
May we see a free Palestine in our lifetimes.
