It's really interesting hearing you talk about what kind of music your ocs will listen to!

I'm curious to know, what would the Starsaints Carnival kids listen?

i'm glad you like my music talk! i've really been getting into different genres these days, so it's fun to assign them to my characters ^^

for starsaints, i imagine the story takes place in the late 2000s-early 2010s, so the characters fav artists should reflect that. i feel as if hero in particular would really like acoustic guitar and slow/soft rock/folk music, as i imagine his mother would be musically inclined (though not practice anymore as she has to take care of him and his sister). maybe she played the guitar for him when he was smaller and it affected his music tastes! ^_^ other than that, he'd like cartoon theme songs and such. he's very imaginative so i think he'd be the type to imagine music videos and stuff to the songs he hears.

chiffon is edgier, and i feel like she'd be really into "girl rock" type music like avril lavigne, paramore, the pretty reckless... any rock band with a female vocalist. she's picky, and i feel like she'd find most male vocalists grating lol.

mallow on the other hand definitely prefers sweeter melodies... cute, poppy stuff like the cardigans and mars argo. things that are cute on the surface but might have deeper lyrics that she'd relate to. defo slightly obscure genres like picopop and shibuya-kei too! also, i feel she'd be the type to seek out small cover artists on youtube and download their songs hehe

yao likes video game soundtracks of course, but i think he'd also like nu metal/hard rock, bands like linkin park and chevelle with emotional lyrics. who knows maybe he'd even like metalcore? so that, and a mix of any video game soundtrack - he prefers older JRPGs, so the sort of things you'd find in there.

for watts, any stereotypical "nerd" music will do, but i don't really think he'd actually listen to music that much. his parents would definitely want him to like classical, probably the type to try and get him to listen to it before he's even born, but he'd HATEEE it i swear... i think he'd like more experimental music like math rock and anything with synthesisers and layered sound.

chantry, on the other hand, would definitely like slower music, instrumental only. it's kind of hard to explain, but with how easy to scare they are, i feel they'd prefer predicable melodies that don't have any screams or unpleasant mouth sounds lol. i don't have any bands or artists in mind though.

and lastly cosmo... definitely the one with the "weirdest" taste out of them all, probably into vocaloid (i'm thinking kikuo, wowaka, dennoko-P, the works), woovy music, synths and weird noises that remind you of space. anything about space interests them, so i think they'd also be into the music from shows relating to aliens and such like steven universe lol

i wish i could go over more characters, but arggghhh, way too many starsaints characters are spoilers in and of themselves... thank you for the ask though! it was nice to think about these guys again as my mind's been focused on reassassination these days lol ^_^

After years of self-discussions, I've come to the realization that I pretty much have no preferences when it comes to love! I mean, there's so much to fear in this world, why would I choose to be scared of liking someone that may not fit society's norm, y'know?

I'm used to She/Her pronouns as I was born a female, but many tend to refer to me using They/Them pronouns online. I don't really care what you call me to be honest.

I've accumulated a plethora of favorite anime characters over the years, but I'd say my top favorites overall are Mitsuri Kanroji, Muichiro and Yuichiro Tokito, Shinobu Kocho, Ciel Phantomhive, Mitsuki Kiryu, Suo Hayato, and Chifuyu Matsuno!

My birthday is July 15th which, I'm pretty sure, makes me a Cancer. I don't know, I'm not really a big horoscopes person..

My music taste is the perfect embodiment of me; all over the place. From Hip-Hop to Pop to Indie, I don't really have a designated fav genre. Artist however.. Link to your masterlist: I don't have a masterlist but here is my ao3! Not gonna bother linking my other ao3 account but if you ever want some BTS content just hmu and I got you lol.

Favorite and least favorite genres to write (angst/smut/fluff, etc): Favorite is for sure some hurt/comfort! Least favorite is any angst that doesn't have a happy ending, I just can't do it lol.

Favorite characters to write for? That's a hard question! I enjoy writing both Bobby and Don, it's hard to choose which I prefer lol; I've really been loving writing Bobby in The Cormorant though so maybe I'll say him. And Chuck Day! I looove writing Chuck, he was such a pleasant surprise when I wrote So Far So Good.

Which one of your works is your favorite? How am I supposed to pick one of my babies?? Lol. I mean, The Cormorant is so incredibly special and dear to me, I think that one will be my favorite for a long time even once it's finished. Out of my completed works, though, a kind of dark horse favorite is The Inherent Value of Warmth and Breath. I wrote that one soooo spontaneously but it turned out so well! I think it has a great balance of action and romance for just a little one shot.

Which one of your works is more popular than you thought it would be? It honestly still blows my mind that The Quiet Act of Loving Someone is the top kudos'ed fic in tbitb tag on ao3 (it just passed 200 kudos btw!! thanks for all the love! <3). Like I never thought something like that would happen with my fics.

Which one of your works is less popular than you thought it would be? So Far So Good my beloved!! I maybe went into it with too high expectations, because people had really loved Shy Boy, so I thought more people would be excited for a sequel. But alas, I guess Chuck/Roger isn't quite as popular. It still got some very nice love though, so I really can't complain!

Which one of your fics was hardest to write? Why? The Cormorant is definitely the hardest to write, but in a super rewarding way. There are just a lot of moving pieces (literally, with Bobby traveling lolol), and figuring out the timing of the month counting down, along with the balance of present day scenes, flashbacks, and dreams with Jack, it takes a lot of consideration for like, structure and organization. And then just thematically, it's very heavy and emotional to write. Which I love, it's so cathartic, but tbh sometimes I have to take breaks and think happy thoughts lol (such as post-fic fluff ideas for Bobby and Don hehe).

What is your favorite fanfic by someone else? Omg okay I'm limiting myself to three (and I'll try not to gush too much lol) but as Anna said there are so many amazing fics in our little fandom!! A huge favorite of mine is Someone Like You (I'm Ready) by teaforone ( @teaforarteza ) on ao3. This fic had me in an absolute chokehold and I still think about it to this day; the messy start, the stakes, the love confessions, the smut?? People died (me). It was also the first fic I read that emphasized Chuck and Bobby's friendship, which was eye opening. Next, I can't talk about fav fics without mentioning salix's (@seasidesandstarscapes )hockey au, Right in the Numbers!! Talk about messy lol, I was screaming at Don throughout this whole fic, and I fell in love with cam boy Bobby! Lastly, and most recently, I was so incredibly taken by effervescentyellow's (@effervescentyellow ) fic As Beautiful As You. It almost made me cry! There's just this overwhelming sense of warmth and acceptance and love, it feels like being wrapped in a cozy blanket and being told everything is going to be okay. It's so amazing.

See above, though I am way fonder of writing horror than reading it. I am also somehow even more allergic to romance as a writer, however.

Are you a planner or a write-as-i-go kind of person?

Write as I go, because I find planning makes me bored of a story.

What music do you listen to while writing the story?

I love musicals and/or vocaloid! I tend to loop a single song for one shorter story, or a playlist for longer ones.

Fav books/movies

I've always had a soft spot for the Alex Verus series, as well as Spinning Silver and the Chanur Saga by CJ Cherryh.

Any Current WIPs?

I am very firmly not thinking about anything except my novel (but cultist WIP my beloved :'))

If someone were to make a cartoon out of you, what would your standard outfit be?

Definitely my debate fit. It's the only thing I wear regularly, and it's a ruffled top, knee length skirt, and boot heels. I love it so much hehe

She was a young woman, tall and willowy, with hair dyed purple-red. Her left hand bore a recovering burn scar, unobscured by the mass of rings she wore. She had glasses perched on the tip of the nose, one lens thicker than the other, and a lopsided smile to match. When she spoke, her words tumbled out of her mouth like they were racing one another, and she listened like a hawk, head cocked to a side.

In case you haven't noticed, I spend far too much time observing myself.

Do you like incorporating people you actually know into your writing?

Not at all haha. Too many people I know read my writing, and I'm not risking any of them recognising themselves.

Are you kill-happy with the characters?

Yes and no? All people die, and when one's writing spans as great a time as mine does, it's only natural for everyone to die. But I don't do it onscreen that often.

Coffee or Tea while writing?

Water, cos I'm a hydro-homie :D

Slow or Fast writer?

I have no idea what fast is considered, but I write anywhere from 500-5k words a day.

Where/who/what do you find inspiration from?

Real life. I see something interesting and onto the paper it goes, along with far too much dramatisation.

If you were put into a fantasy world, what would you be?

If you dumped me in a fantasy world, I'd probably gravitate towards being a villain, or at least the protag's rival. More often than not I can't stand the heroes of the books I read, and I honestly tend to root for the villains in any book I read. That's probably why I almost always write villain protags haha

Most fave book cliche?

I'm rather fond of twist villains. I don't know why, it's just so fun to watch them drop the mask, especially if done well.

Least fave book cliche?

Not a cliche per se, but "We had to lie to you to protect you". If someone did that to me, I would never forgive them. Especially when the person in question is lying about their identity. I hate that trope so much I wrote Heroes as a complaint against it. I fully support Mara's wrongs and if I had been in her place I would have tried to poison the cake too.

Fave scenes to write?

Gore!!!!! Blood!!! Torture!!!!

Most productive time of day for writing?

While on the go, I guess. Walking is my personal fav, though it's pretty unsafe.

Oh man, that is a rather tricky thing to do, hahaha. My comfort artists are Imagine Dragons (I've been listening to them since they started all that time ago—not one song they don't have, I don't know about. My favorite albums are Night Visions and Smoke and Mirrors. Both bring me comfort and yet make me sad with nostalgia) and David Bowie. Recently, Wallows has become an artist I have come to love because the feeling their music gives me is a sort of melancholic coziness/nostalgia. I literally cannot get enough of their stuff. You also cannot go wrong with Depeche Mode, but it's hard to choose a fav of theirs. As for Queen, tho, my favorite song of theirs is 'Killer Queen' and 'Good Ol' Fashion Lover Boy.' Hell, even Nickleback is a good choice (Yes, I listen to them and have since I was young. I love them and wish to see them live, but all their shows are in Canada at the moment) As for actual songs, some of my favs (since there are too many and I am on the spot, so aaa) are: -As the World Falls Down -David Bowie (I am weak for this song. You have NO idea how bad it is. 3. What fandoms do you write for? Saiyuki, Goblin Slayer, Code Geass, Yugioh, Yami no Matsuei, some other niche anime and manga titles, Toku series (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman, GARO and one very rare Cybercop fic, a whole bunch of KDramas, JDramas, BBC dramas which includes the Whoniverse and a few original writings. And oh... some game fandom too.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

"Wife" - A Beyond Evil fic... based on this ONE scene that seemed to be so gay lol

Unread - A Descendant of the Sun fic set around the moment priot to the main leads reunion after the guy supposed died/went MIA on a mission

Alstromeria - A Detroit: Become Human fic set on a happy end outcome of the game.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Sometimes. Usually when people ask me stuff in the comments I'll definitely give some replies. Or if there's a very enthusiastic one that I can't help responding. Or just to thank people for the comments.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Unh... this one was a very hard question lol, since I wrote plenty of angsty fic. Heck, my main genre had been angst. Though I guess some of my angstiest fic I've written would be the one I wrote for the Hidarime Tantei Eye jdrama. There's this one Anti Hope AU I did about a scenario where Ainosuke was so in denial about his older brother's death that he actually created a delusion that his brother was still alive.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hehehe. Another hard stuff, one because I wrote more angst than fluff... and another, I'm not sure that I'm the right person to have a proper opinion about this XD. But if talking about my recent works... I might say my TanuKitsune series. Which basically refers to Sleeping Tanuki.

8. Do you get hate on fics? I did used to get some, just because I mainly wrote LuluKallen pairing in the Code Geass fandom. But in terms of flames... I already forgot about it cos that's like so many years ago.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Hehe. Nowadays... yes. I wrote quite an amount, openly and anonymously. Mostly from the Geats fandom.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I used to. I wouldn't say any of them came close to being described as 'crazy'. Cos there's one on CCS/YGO and KR/SS multiverse project that revolves around Decade and Gokaiger. In terms of scale, I guess the Gokaiger one was crazy. Like imagine trying to add more inside lore to the one in series since Gokai barely delve too deep when doing all the episodes with the previous teams. Or if you count that tiny crossover I did in some of my Geats fic, yeah that's crazy. Like KR Geats and Team Batista series had NOTHING in common between them.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Has it happened before? I don't really remember.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Several times. I've got someone asking me if they could translate my fic into Russian, and several other requests asking to translate my fics into Mandarin. I forgot if there were any other requests for other languages besides those two.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Kouga/Kaoru is still my all-time fav even if I don't write too much Garo fic. In that case, KeiAce probably fit the bill more now.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Passing the Torch - because it'll require me to rewatch the episodes and the corresponding tribute series that by know I don't think I'll have enough attention span and time to do and think up stuff.

16. What are your writing strengths? To be honest, half the time I'm not sure what's my real strength in anything. But depending on my level of hyper-focusing at a time I can be pretty good at keeping the voice of my characters... and sometimes people say that I could emulate the same writing style as the original writers, which had been one of the sweetest compliments I've ever received.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogues... maybe, because sometimes I have harder time trying to voice out my characters thoughts on something... also I get distracted/derailed easily so half the time the plot just ran off on its own.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I usually avoid it unless I'm proficient in said language.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Gensoumaden Saiyuki, I think. Goku/Sanzo

20. Favorite fic you've written? I wrote so many it's hard to pick any favourites tbh But I guess my TanuKitsune series would be some of them. Also Atonement. Just because I love how the plot end up coming together nicely.

another ramble about my ongoing writing related existential crisis that no one asked for but that i will still put out there hehe

i genuinely love writing as a hobby and stopping it rn is kind of out of the question for me because it is one of my biggest creative outlets and i'm still not ready to let go of it — that being said, and i've mentioned this multiple times over the last few months, i have been feeling pretty unhappy with my work. i enjoy writing smut, but i think kinktober has made me realize even more that my fav genre might be angst, because although i enjoy indulging in the filth every once in a while, i absolutely adore writing sad stuff for some reason that i cannot point out. beyond that, i think my main issue is that i am not as into anime as i was when i started writing two (?) years ago on my previous blog . . i barely watch anime anymore and the same goes for reading manga, which is why i keep writing for the same few characters, because those are the ones i can still feel some sort of connection with and feel any sort of enjoyment writing for. my main problem though isn't exactly my fading interest from animanga, but the fact that even if i can acknowledge it, i still can't think of any other fandom i would want to write for. i could move onto writing for f1, but then i would probably only write for the two or three drivers i actually find attractive, and for some reason even that doesn't appeal to me at all, or i could switch to kpop, but i don't even know what sort of stuff i would wanna write or for who i would wanna write, so i'm left with nothing else because besides those two most of my interests seem to come and go randomly. i have toyed with the idea of doing more of those your fav x you posts and maybe even dipping my feet into some oc related stuff but i'm not sure how that would do in the long run, so i am at kind of a loss right now lmaoo. i still have all intentions of finishing kinktober, but after that i'm not sure in which direction i will be taking this blog. continuing with animanga isn't completely out of the question because, again, even though i don't care much for it anymore, i still feel comfortable enough writing for a very limited list of characters, which is already something ig . . .

anyways, all of this to say i might end up doing a whole revamp to this blog and changing everything about it hehe, hopefully the few people who actively keep up with me will continue here through whatever might come in the future, but even if you don't, that is absolutely fine ! i'm honestly excited to see what path i might chose but also even more excited for the experimenting process that will come before it where i will try to figure out what works for me right now <3 i just wanna have fun with writing and tbh, right now, creating stuff that isn't exactly tied to one already existing character or person doesn't seem too bad so maybe that's the next step for me ? i don't know we shall wait and see

What kinda gamer is ThatLuckyBear?

This is a long post. So I'm into video games maybe a bit too much. Here's what I like:

Tetris + Dr. Mario (puzzle games): Core to my gaming spirit. I like to do speedruns of 0-21 on Dr. Mario 64 and I've been known to play 0-20 on Dr. Mario for the NES as well. I loved Tetris since NES but fell back in love with Tetris DS and now I mostly just do sprints on tetr.io. I'm also a 8 chain Puyo-Puyo scrub and I like the game but lack the energy to get better at it. Since this is kind of in the vein of puzzle solving the Ace Attorney games as well as oldschool Point and Click adventure games are wonderful for me as well.

Soulslike: These are all fun. I haven't played most of them though. Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne are my favs and I've put a lot of time into Elden Ring but Miquella shut down my run and I haven't had time to grind it out. I'll finish it eventually though.

Metroidvania: Huge fan of the genre. Hollowknight is my favorite at time of writing but Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is an ultra banger and I would have a hard time not mentioning it. I've played all the DS Castlevanias and I love them all.

Schlooters: Looting and shooting is fun. I play coop with my wife and we really enjoy Borderlands. We also had a good time with Outriders. Destiny 2 has been kinda tough to get into but we're trying to get a feel for it before investing any money.

MMORPGS: I've been doing these since 2003 if you can believe it. I was playing Ragnarok Online pre-beta by sneaking onto jRO. I really hit the road running with the iRO beta. Since then I've put a lot of love into Tera Online (Elin berserker just tickles my "hehe" bone, I had a popo too but Elin was the best imo) - I enjoyed FFXIV (Lala paladin) but it's too expensive for me to keep up with the monthly. I really wanna finish FFXIV's story someday. Phantasy Star Online, and Dungeon Fighter Online get a honorable mention but I really haven't had a chance to be in love with them since my MMO muscles are weak and my gaming time short in my age.

RPGS: Classic and modern I'm a big fan of RPGS. I've fallen in love with Dragon Quest recently although it was one of the first RPGS I played (Dragon Warrior NES.) I remember looking through Nintendo Power Magazine and looking at the illustrations and descriptions of the weapons and just getting SO JAZZED. Anyway Super Mario RPG is the best RPG of all time followed by Pokemon Blue/Red would be my call. I love modern Pokemon games but I haven't spent much time with others.

Action RPG: Monster Hunter, Yakuza (love but never played much,) Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil (2/4/7) and so many more. I'm a hunting horn main and I am head over heels for Monster Hunter and will always love it.

Competitive: I like to compete but I don't do it much because I have /emotional issues/ and I can't keep my lid on proper. That said I really have a great time playing Smash Ultimate (not a Melee guy sorry it's too hard for me) Street Fighter, Tekken, Granblue VS, and Smash are kind of the only ones I like playing these days. While I used to do a lot of FPS competitives I'm boycotting Actiblizzard so no COD or Overwatch til they remove Bobby Kotick. Valorant is too hard and time consuming but I love it (I'm bad at it sadly.) I might play Fortnite someday but idk if I'll get into it.

the COMF: I love some comfy games. Some of the above fit that category for me (Pokemon Red/Blue to be specific) but Stardew, Animal Crossing, anything Wholesome games, Minecraft, Stray etc. Anything that can make me sleepy usually fits me well.

Platformers: I get into some 3d mario games. I especially enjoyed Odyssey. I kind of get most of my platforming jazz out of the metroidvania stuff but I couldn't get through this without mentioning how much the 3d (and 2d for that matter) mario games matter to me.

There's obviously millions more games that I forgot and couldn't touch on. Day of Defeat was a formative competitive shooter experience as well as all the other HL1 mods I played. I could go on forever but I hope this helps you understand what kind of gamer I am. While I'm pretty eclectic in taste I'm also pretty formulated. These days I spend most of my time trying to find coop experiences to have with my wife so lmk if you've got some cool ones I should look into. 🧡

Just wanted to say that since I have not much of a life and I'm bored as hell that I wanna roleplay/rp. I would go back to actually writing but I don't have the drive that I used to so oh well. Only text me though if you're a literate roleplayer if not, don't even talk to me yo hehe. I only have one roleplay partner at the time (and I love them dearly they just get busy) (UPDATE: Now I have three other people I role play with, keep that in mind!)

I miss writing but I hate people rushing me for stories and using me so yeah.

I generally have a problem with taking things seriously! I dunno I just?? Can't get into the mindset of being serious when I need to be? Like I can't relate man- I just feel that a little joke will lighten stuff up y'know!!

Aaand I also am a lousy multitasker- Like I cannot concentrate on more than one thing- especially auditory things! So if I'm doing something it's gonna take like 10 tries to get my attention by just talking- honestly just come up to me and tap me on the shoulder a bunch of times

And lastly, I'm very impulsive! Like impulse spending included- if I think something is funny I'm doing/buying it. No questions asked.

Alright, onto my Hobbies!

I love to draw! I have been doing so for about 10 years now, and I'm not thinking of stopping anytime soon! 5 y/o me made the right choice to copy my sister with doing art as well >:)

I also love to play video games hehe- I prefer singleplayer, but I can do multi if I play with friends! Especially for stuff like Identity V- I'm not going in without at least one other person! That being said, my fav genres atm would probably be RPGs, Indies and horror! Horror doesn't give me the scares at all but it's amusing nonetheless!

I also really really love listening to music! I cannot go without it since I don't like it when theres a lot of people talking (either in general or to me)- my fav genre will always be Jazz or honestly Breakcore ATM!! It does the scritch scratchy on my brain well...

Oh and I also roleplay a lot I GUESS- I just have so many characters what would I ever do with them!!

I would say that I'm a fairly decent writer, I can definitely write a good few at most 10k character long response-

I did ! It was very funny , and I can't wait for the next ep (which is how I feel after every ep haha) My favourite gose episodes are the Debate Night and Don't Lie ones ! The Debate Night episodes had the most intelligent nonsense I've ever heard lol , and the Don't Lie episodes were very exciting and funny (especially when Hoshi unleashed his crazy side haha) . canada is such a great country! i visited there a couple of years ago and i really liked it, if my guesses are right you live near montréal/french area? oh, no worries! well i live in mexico city so its just like any other big city, there’s a lot of traffic, people and pollution (but i really love living here)!! what about where you live? are you in the city or countryside?

i don’t want to be an adult haha, its just too many things to worry about 😭 but i hope we’re great at managing adult things haha, my major is related to business administration and customs but yeah, my main purpose is to work abroad or to work between mexico and other countries :); oh so i wish you the best luck in your classes, i bet you’ll do really good!

me too!! i always watch them on wednesday and kinda patiently wait until the next one^^, oh debates one are kinda hard for me to follow but they’re surely funny, don’t lies is such a great series too!! for me it would be ttt’s series because they’re just having fun all the time, the mbti chapters and don’t lie series too! i think my fav videos are the ones where they play haha
