When did I get injured?

you level your breathing, clumsily take out a mass of gauze from your vest to apply to your body in attempt to slow the bleeding.

Your mag is empty. Change it. Answer comms.

the comms go off again, informing you to meet up at the rendezvous point. you made your way. the team occasionally buzzing your earpiece to check on you every so often.

"Selene, How copy?"

you responded every so often with a; "Fine" or "Be there soon." the beloved callsign soon loosing all meaning with how often it rang in your ear.

your destination is just up ahead. a couple more steps. keep going then you can drop.

it was pretty dark, around 2200 hours and you had reached the building, already eerily quiet as you opened the door expecting someone awake, but no. there were small lights coming from another side rooms where you could only assume someone was still functioning.

after stalking around for something to drink you stumbled to the bathroom, stripping of your gear and boots.

heavy steps could be heard meandering around but you ignored the sound, keeping focus on your task at hand. cleaning your face and wound as the steps got closer and closer till they stopped.

you shot up at the voice from behind the door, the vial of vodka you were going to use to disinfect your injury now in bits and pieces on the tile.

"Selene?" it was könig.

"Shit," you whisper, no energy in your tank to deal with the glass on the ground. "come in.."

the masked austrian carefully steps in. no emotion is visible yet you can practically feel the worry as he sits down and looks at your almost clean face asking your permission to assist. "May I?"

he points at your messy excuse of a bandage. you nod and könig reaches for the first aid kit he left outside the door just in case. "When did you arrive?"

rough fingers slowly peel back the gauze as you turn your head to the teeny window in the washroom, "Not long". He ignored how your answer didn't fully make sense but he understood, giving you a curt nod.

the gash wasn't deadly but it wasn't shallow, you were glad it was who it was taking care of you right now. königs hands were huge ─big enough to cover yours if they were formed in a fist─ but he was cautious with them.

making sure that he didn't graze your injury or press to firmly when he applied a disinfectant. hell, you even told him to pull the medical tape tighter when he was placing it over the fresh gauze, weary of causing you any discomfort.

the full moon is in blossom, just in the window's view tons of thousands of stars shine over you. at this you perked up, a small grin appearing on your lips.

"Hey König, full moon." he tore his eyes away from your torso to see your lovely features attending to the moon's glow, full of glee. it was contagious, he smiled to himself.

"Yeah," he trails off, his light blueish green eyes focused on your face rather then the afore mentioned object of your attention. god, he wished you gazed at him like that, like nothing else mattered. like, he was all that mattered. "The chopper comes tomorrow morning, 0600 hours sharp. you should get some rest."

he returns to professionalism as he packs up the first aid and stands up, "G'night König," you pause, sleep overcoming your senses, but you push a kind smile to appear. "Thanks."

"Don't worry about it, rest well." and he walks off to the room he was in, vanishing in the shadows of the abandoned building as you gather your remaining strength to go sit in the open 'living' room succumbing to heavy eyelids and a big yawn.

"And then finally, it turned out to be coming from the bathroom." Murderface finished with a flourish as if expecting applause. There was none, simply the crackling of the campfire. They weren't camping or anything, but that didn't keep them from having a fire going.

"Murderface, that story sucks," Nathan said.

"Yeah, it amn't scaries at all," Skwisgaar scoffed.

"It ams mostlies… really gross?" Toki said with a thoughtful frown.

"I'd like to see you do better!" Murderface crossed his arms.

"Okays. Gets outs of the way." Skwisgaar scooted up closer to the fire, the light adding an eerie glow to his features.

"Oooh, Skwisgaar's got one," Pickles said, leaning in.

Toki watched in rapt attention, hands under his chin.

"Once upons the times," Skwisgaar said, voice low. "A mans was ins his house. It was quiets. A goods time to practice the guitars. So the mans practiced the guitars." He made air guitar motions to demonstrate. "But just thens… the lights wents out!"

He paused for effect.

"The mans realized somethings when the lights was out. He couldn't feels his guitars anymore. It was gones! He grabsed arounds for it, hopings to finds it, but it was nowheres to be founds!"

"What happensed next??" Toki asked, eyes wide.

"Uh, nothings," Skwisgaar said. "That ams the ends of the story."

"Uh, Skwisgaar?" Nathan said. "That sucked too."

Turning Red infodump post!

I happy/distress-cried for half an hour after watching Turning Red. Why? Many reasons. The main one being the fact that this was the representation I needed when I was young. The entire time I was watching, I was pointing out to my partner and roommate how accurate the portrayal of Meilin was as an Asian American 13 year old.

This movie addresses so many aspects of Asian American teen life.

Perfectionism

- Both the cultural and familial reach for being perfect in everything you do is portrayed in both the stress on the mom, Ming, and passed down to Meilin. Not only grades have to be perfect but also the way that you present yourself in the eye on the public. It’s most important for Asian families to “save face”.

Emotions

- bottle those up babeyyyyy! You have emotions? No you don’t. Be happy and achieve greatness or you’re a failure. Meilin’s struggle to calm herself down and control her emotions don’t jsut pertain to Asian American youths. I feel like this society expects all young kids to act like properly behaved adults at this point. 13 year olds should be allowed to be kids, because that’s what they are! Let them have their tantrums, let them express their feelings. It’s unhealthy to bottle them up. But that’s what’s taught, especially in Asian American families.

Identity

- Meilin struggles with her fictional identity of being both human and a red panda. This may be comical and fun to watch and incredibly cute to add, I also see it as a metaphor for the struggle of identity in Asian Americans. We have a foot in each world, the American world and the Asian world. The cultures are incredibly different and hard to balance depending on the expectations of your parents. Add the fact that some Asian American youths not only struggle with racial identity but also queerness in gender and sexuality, and everything becomes a mess. I know, I was there and I went through all of that. Discovering and fortifying your identity in each aspect of your intersectionality is hard and Turning Red does a good job exploring Meilin’s identity crisis and how she deals with it as a teenager.

Family

- parental responsibility was NONEXISTENT when I was Meilin’s age, and this movie goes pretty deep into the way Grandmother Wu and Ming deal with generational trauma. Saying sorry to your kid is practically a taboo. Hiding the imperfect parts of your family and history happens all the time. I have a lot of…Grandparent trauma, to say the least, and it really stems from the way family is viewed in Asian culture.

This girl also has the same song preferences as me in middle school. It’s so creepy that Disney got it so perfectly?

I kinda wonder if Martin is tuning out these expressions of emotion because they are distressing emotions that are hard to hear. But if you want to hear your partner's emotions, and they're strong, worrying emotions, then that's what you'll have to hear. Otherwise, you shouldn't misinterpret your own deflection of their emotion as an inability for them to express it.

And on the other side, maybe Jon could do better with communicating how he feels in a way that's less... Well, ominous, as Martin put it. But Martin should express his desire for that, you know? I don't think Jon purposely tried to dig into Martin's head before this episode, and that was probably only because he Knew he was talking to Annabelle? I think Jon was instinctively respecting Martin's privacy before, and now he's going to make a concerted effort to purposely avoid reading his mind. So the burden is on Martin to tell Jon what he needs from him. He's been doing well with expectations for boundaries; now let's do expectations for communication.

That "flesh prison" exchange got close, but when Jon apologized, Martin's response was just "that's not- it's okay." If that's not what you meant then tell him that, mutual communication baby, it goes both ways babeyyyyy

Love to see some delicious character traits poking their heads up again. Love to see the promise of some character development. The storylines on Akari's end are gonna be a bit skewed from canon. Some characters are gonna have monster ancestry, for example (Hugh has already been explicitly said to be part monster in Midsummer, for example), and their choices throughout their whole journey, as well as their memories from their past world that get unlocked as time passes, may cause things to be a little...Off

This could be dialogue changes, for instance, or even their relationships with others being affected

I didn't finish ORAS beyond the Team Aqua/Magma storyline. I don't plan on finishing the game anytime soon either. Don't expect Akari to go much further than saving the world whilst in Hoenn

The basic premise is that it's a soulmate AU in which you cannot die before you meet your soulmate. So, you age until you're 18, and once you hit that age, you stop. You stay physically 18 until you meet your soulmate, no wrinkles, no graying hairs, no more growth, no health deteriorations. You're just. 18. Some people are lucky enough to find their soulmate quickly, while others have to stick around much, much longer. 

Unfortunately, this is the case for Remy Dormir (I'm funny and original ik), who has been alive for about 900 years, and is Not Okay (but loves pretending like he is because ✨repression✨ babeyyyyy)

At first he was honestly excited about the idea of being basically immortal, as most people are, but it really Hit Him just how. Real that was after his mom died. And like. He’d have to live years and years without her. And what if his friends die to??? He'd be. All alone. 

So Remy, with a heavy heart, decides to leave his home along with most things that remind him of his mom (with the exception of the rosario she always wore) and left on the quest to find his soulmate!!!

And he was. Hopeful at first! He was hopeful, and having a bit of fun with it! He got to see tons of new places, and meet quite a few different people. No soulmate, but that was okay! He would find him!

Then he stopped keeping tracks of the years, and months, and weeks, and days, and hours, and minutes, and seconds. It's all the same anyways, isn't it?

He stops looking for his soulmate. He develops a bitterness towards them, towards soulmates in general, because he could've lived a happy life already but nooooo. He needs to have a ✨soulmate✨ 

So yeah Remy makeshifts poor life decisions, does not take care of himself at all, and isolated himself from most everyone, until he moves in with Emile. (He hopes living w/ someone will give him motivation to. Try and actually keep a job. And it works! Until. It doesn't. But Emile doesn't kick him out, for some reason. At some point, he had gotten back on his feet financially, but he keeps Remy around for reasons Remy doesn’t wanna know.)

What he wasn't expecting when he's moved in with Emile was someone who would try to care about him, and Remu does not need that. Nope, not at all.

But Emile is persistent, and it is. Annoying. (No Remy is not touched what so ever that someone would care enough for him to try and help sort out the fucking mountain of problems he has, no he isn't a bit happy that Emile seems to continuously care about him no matter what, no he absolutely does not want to be fucking friends with him, no he does not care about Emile on the slightest, thank you very much.)

So one day Emile was like “Hey! I found this support group to help people who have been alive for too long! You should go and check it out!”

And Remy is like “"Absolutely not” but ends up going anyway. 

He despises every fucking second of it, especially when he realizes that the people there have been alive for say 200 years at most, and definitely would not be able to relate to him at all, and he’s so fucking embarrassed when it's his turn to share how long he’s been alive and has to admit he stopped keeping count after 300 years, and he wants to punch something when people look at him like he was something to pity, and–

And then. There's this one guy. Logan. Who has been alive for, let's just say for the sake of this, 937 years, 6 months, and 10 days.

Remy is :0!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's tempted to talk to him after the session is over. He sorta does, but it ends. Quickly. And no phone numbers were exchanged or anything so it didn't really matter.

But they kinda keep bumping into each other afterwards, Remy wonders if their paths haven always intersected that much, and they do start talking. And bonding over their unique experiences. And actually opening up to each other. And they talk about the bitterness and anger they both hold towards their soulmate (little do they know) and. It's nice. Having someone. To relate to. 

And for once Remy thinks he might actually be happy.

It takes a while for them to figure out that they're aging, but once they do they both freak out. It takes a lot longer for them to connect the dots and realize it's each other (subconsciously I think they both crossed each other out as an object. There's no way someone like him would want someone like me). But when they do. Oh god it is. Lots and lots of Emotions, let me tell ya akdjajsja.

And I would love to go In Depth about stuff and share scenes I have planned but aldksjsja I would like for some stuff to be a surprise.
