Wheel of Time || Moiraine x Lan

Moiraine always had a knack for compartmentalizing.  She never thought much about it, really, it was just the way her mind worked.  She was like her father, who could love his family one day and very nearly forget they existed the next, because he was so involved in his latest project that he had simply…tucked them safely away somewhere, to be loved properly at a more convenient time. Anvaere’s mind does not work the same way, and nor did their mother’s.  For them, Father’s occasional abandonment seeped into everything around it, the proverbial fruit of the poisonous tree.  By their estimation, he did not get to love them one day and leave them the next, and in retrospect, Moiraine supposes she can understand that. In practice it was rather miserable, though.  Anvaere moped, while their mother made a hobby of building resentment. Moiraine considers in passing that she’s doing a rather magnificent job of encompassing both of her family’s tried and true traditions in her misery, hiding herself away most of the time, but still managing to make the whole place intolerable when she is present.

mylene is so interesting to me bc like. she just chucks elico out as soon as she gets a mechanical replacement with macubass. and i think she's the only villain so callous about their guardian bakugan???

most villains still care about their bakugan and usually actually share the same goals and are on the same wavelength, birds of a feather and all that. like even characters like kazarina, cruel as she is, still are fond of their guardian bakugan. and theres characters like spectra and barodius who's plans center around their guardian bakugan, and are actively encouraged by those bakugan.

even characters who's guardian bakugan dont necessarily get along with them all the time, like avior and mason's constant bickering, are still friends. meanwhile mylene just. throws elico out. and also takes brontes from volt and throws him out as well. i think whats also interesting, since the show likes to bring up spectra and mylene parallels, is how spectra uses machines to upgrade and evolve helios, while mylene outright replaces elico with a machine.

but it's not like she's shown to be like. completely heartless either. she calls volt her friend even though she threw out brontes beforehand. she stands up for hydron when zenoheld takes his anger out on him. she has some weird friendship with shadow prove.

i think she was the vehicle to show the general vestal opinion on bakugan, since mylene only sees her bakugan as weapons and when she loses she blames the loss on them. (meanwhile i think volt is supposed to show that not all vestals are THAT bad, even if they are part of the king's entourage of fucked up teenage celebrity theatre kids). and i think she's very interesting bc of that. anyways i love mylene.

today I discovered that I have no idea what the password for my previous Tumblr account is, SO I made an entirely new Tumblr just so that I could post my little sketch of these idiots.

based on @snikt-snack 's modern AU fanfiction Arcadia Found which I am OBSESSED with. I can't get enough of Arthur, Albert, and Charles and how sickeningly sweet they all are with eachother.

So I just had to draw these guys based on the scene from chapter 14 where Arthur and Al comfort Charles.

on another note, this is the first digital art I have done in YEARS cause I finally found my stylus after losing it while moving 6 years ago and I have moved TWO more times since that. Good Times.

Hot Take: heterosexual relationships are some of the most toxic relationships out there these days. EVEN IF ONE OF THE INVOLVED PARTIES IS QUEER these relationships are toxic and I'm not blaming either of the parties, I'm blaming the way we are socialized.

I'm blaming the way women are expected to be clean, smell nice, shave everything, dress to the nines, and actually just try with their appearance while society will look at a man wearing a trash bag and nothing else and eb like yeah he's attractive

I'm blaming the fact that men don't get scolded enough for objectifying women. For staring at our bodies and making unwanted comments or advances, for being exposed to corn at a young age and never told that this is an inaccurate portrayal of the nasty.

Men and women are socialized so differently in the modern era that it is well nigh impossible for them to coexist in a healthy relationship. It is not the couples fault that their relationship is toxic, but therapy would help alot
