The Perfect Date
summary: tom makes it his mission to take you on the perfect first date. the only problem is, you have no idea.Â
warnings: none
word count: 3.6k
pairings: tom holland x reader
a/n: this was supposed to be a valentineâs day fic but then I forgot about it. oops. plz enjoy anyway
Tom had just started the last lap of Warioâs Gold Mine when he heard Zendaya ask, âGot any plans for Valentineâs Day?â
He tried not to pay attention to your answer, focusing on keeping his lead, but he couldnât help it. His eyes flickered over to where you were sitting at the kitchen table, absently circling your finger around the rim of your wine glass.
You straightened up at her question, scoffing. âAre you kidding? Whenâs the last time you saw me date anybody, Z?â
âHey,â she said, pointing at you accusingly. âDonât even start with me. I set you up with people all the time, itâs not my fault youâre so picky.â
âItâs called having standards,â you fired back. âSorry Iâm not interested in pretentious jerks who insist on mansplaining Tarantino films to me over their venti-soy-no-foam latte with a triple shot of espresso.â
Zendaya cackled, and though he couldnât see your face, Tom could tell you were smiling too; your words had no real bite to them.
âSeriously though,â you continued with a sigh. âI think I might just give up dating for a while. Lately it feels like my only options are either crappy blind dates or going through a sleazy hookup app for some mediocre sex. I canât remember the last time I got properly asked out and went on, like, a nice date.â
As soon as you said that, the gears started turning in Tomâs head. And then he got an idea so good he almost forgot about the race entirely, until Harrison hit him with a red shell and passed him, sailing over the finish line in first place.
âYes!â Harrison cheered, causing you and Zendaya to look over, startled. âFinally, I won!â
âWow,â Zendaya said, amused. âI think thatâs the first time youâve ever lost in Mario Kart, Holland.â
âYeah, whatâs gotten into you?â you asked teasingly as Harrison got up and did a victory dance.
Tom normally hated losing, but he was too preoccupied at the moment to care. âNothing,â he said quickly. âJust . . . a little rusty, I guess.â
You raised your eyebrows, but then Zendaya challenged Harrison to a rematch, and the two of them immediately started a new grand prix while you called dibs on the winner. With the distraction in place, Tom had plenty of time to come up with a plan.
The four of you had been friends for years, but heâd always harbored something of a crush on you. Heâd never tried to push the boundaries or pursue you because he liked your relationship as it was already, and didnât want to make you uncomfortable. But this would be different. This was harmless. He was simply going to show you how you deserved to be treated, give you a good date to remember among the bad ones.
Nothing else. Right?
* * *
You eyed the huge bouquet of roses your coworker had on her desk and tried not to feel too envious. Sheâd made a big show of bringing them in this morning and inviting everyone who walked by to smell them, going on and on about how her girlfriend had surprised her for Valentineâs Day yesterday.
So what, you thought to yourself. I can get myself flowers whenever I want; I donât need a holiday to have an excuse to do it. It really didnât make you feel better though.
âHey,â a familiar voice said, making you jump a mile. You looked up. Tom was peering over the wall of your cubicle, which was . . . unexpected. He hardly ever visited you at work.
âOh, hi,â you said. âI didnât even see you come in.â
âYeah, you were totally zoned out,â Tom said. âGood thing I brought caffeine.â He placed a to-go cup from your favorite coffee shop on your desk. You saw the order written on the side; heâd gotten it exactly right.
âWow,â you said, surprised but grateful. âThanks.â Youâd already had coffee this morning, but clearly it was shaping up to be a two-cup type of day. You took a careful sip and felt better already.
âNo problem.â Tom followed your line of vision to your coworkerâs desk. âPretty flowers.â
âYeah,â you agreed, a little quietly. You cleared your throat. âSo, whatâs up? Did we have plans today or something?â
âOh, no,â he said, shifting from foot to foot, âbut thatâs actually kind of what I wanted to talk to you about.â He seemed nervous, which in turn made you nervous.
âOkay,â you said, giving him your full attention. Â
âSo . . . are you doing anything this Friday night?â
It was only Monday. You thought for a second before shaking your head. âI donât think so.â
âWould you like to have dinner? With me?â
You furrowed your eyebrows. That was it? âOh. Sure.â
You couldâve sworn you saw his eyes widen the slightest bit. âReally? I mean, great. Cool.â He scratched his nose. âSo, Friday at six oâclock, then? Iâll text you the name of the place?â
âSounds good,â you said. He seemed excited, though you couldnât figure out why. You got dinner with him, Harrison, and Zendaya at least once a week.
âAlrighty,â Tom said, swinging his arms a little and nodding. âWell, Iâll let you get back to work. See you Friday.â
âSee you,â you said. Did he really come all the way to your office to ask you this in person instead of just texting you like he normally would? Maybe heâd been nearby or something. You watched him leave, mostly confused but also kind of endeared.
âWas that your boyfriend?â your coworker asked, subtly adjusting her flowers again.
You quickly shook your head, turning back to your computer and taking another sip of your coffee. âOh, no. Just a friend.â
As Tom left your office, he allowed himself to do a small fist-pump. Getting you to agree was the hardest part. Now came the slightly-easier-but-still-hard part: making sure he gave you the best first date ever.
* * *
Something strange was going on with Tom. You first realized it when you brought up the dinner on Friday to Zendaya and she had no clue what you were talking about.
âTom didnât invite you?â
âNope.â She popped the âp.â
âHuh.â You chewed your lip. âThatâs . . . weird. Maybe he figured Iâd just tell you about it. And I guess you donât really need an invitation anyway . . . do you think he invited Harrison?â
âI donât know.â You were on the phone, so you couldnât see Zendayaâs face, but it kind of sounded like she was trying not to laugh. âMaybe he wants it to be just the two of you.â
âMaybe.â It was rare, but it wasnât like you never spent time with just Tom or Harrison. Â You couldnât remember the last time you had dinner with either of them one-on-one, though. This seemed . . . different. âBut Iâm sure he wonât mind if you guys show up,â you said with a shrug.
Now Zendaya did laugh. âNo, no, itâs fine,â she said. âI think Iâm supposed to babysit my niece and nephew anyway. You guys have fun.â
Then there was Tom himself. You hadnât seen him in person since Monday, but heâd been texting you random questions all week:
Do you prefer a casual or an elegant ambiance?
How many candles on a table is too many? Or do you think overhead lamps are better?
Oyster bars . . . yes/no?
You answered all of them with increasing bemusement, but any time you asked why he would mysteriously change the subject. You couldnât help but feel like there was something you were missing here.
Finally, he sent you the name of the restaurant on Friday morning: Soul & Persona.
Youâd never heard of it, so you decided to look it up. One glance at their website told you this place wasnât like the casual restaurant-and-bars you and your friends usually frequented. This was fancy. Clicking over to the menu, you inhaled sharply at the prices written next to the items. Luckily, today was payday.
You arrived at the restaurant shortly before six. Another person was already standing outside, and as you got closer you realized it was Tom. Two things about that were already weird: one, he was normally notoriously late to everything; and two, he was holding a bouquet of roses in one hand that were so big they nearly obstructed his face.
He didnât notice you approaching, busy frowning at something on his phone. âHey,â you said at last, making him jump. Â
âOh! Hey!â He cleared his throat, shoving his phone in his pocket. âI meangood evening.â He did a strange little bow before thrusting the flowers at you. âThese are for you.â
âWow,â you said, taking them carefully. âTheyâre beautiful. Thank you.â
âYouâre welcome. You look really nice.â
You were glad you researched the restaurant in advance, because the jeans and t-shirt combo youâd originally planned on wearing would definitely not have been appropriate here.
âSo do you,â you said. He did: he was wearing slacks and a nice dress shirt under a jacket, his hair neatly combed.
âThanks. Should we go in?â he asked. You nodded, and he hurried to open the door, ushering you inside. It was crowded, which made you a little worried. How long would the wait time be?
But Tom went right up to the hostess stand. âHi,â he said, âwe have a reservation for two at six; the name is Tom?â
She looked at her book and nodded. âYou can follow me right this way.â She led you to a quiet corner of the restaurant and seated you at a table by the window. âEnjoy your meal.â
âHere,â Tom said, pulling your chair out before you could sit down. Again, you couldnât shake the feeling that something was off.
âThis place is crazy nice,â you said, looking around as the hostess placed a wine list on the table.
âYeah,â Tom agreed, a little distractedly. âUm. So. Do you prefer to work in a team or alone?â
You blinked. âWhat? Whereâd that come from?â
He shrugged, fidgeting with his collar like he was nervous. âIâI dunno. Just making conversation.â
âOo-kay,â you said with a laugh. âWell, I havenât seen you since you blessed my office with your presence on Monday. How was your week? Didnât you have to give a presentation yesterday?â
âYes, and one of the board members literally fell asleep during it,â Tom said, wrinkling his nose.
He seemed to loosen up after that, and the conversation flowed naturally from then on as you talked about your plans for the weekend, your friends, your families, and any other random thoughts that occurred to you.
For dinner you tried a pasta dish while Tom got steak, and you each had the soup of the day for an appetizer. Your knowledge of wine was limited to whatever was cheapest when you went to the liquor store, but Tom had apparently become an expert overnight: he asked the waiter all kinds of questions about their reds vs. their whites before finally ordering a bottle for the two of you to share.
All in all, it was an enjoyable dinner. You always had fun with Tom, of course, but you rarely got to spend time with just him. And though you normally stayed away from expensive places like this one, you had to admit the food was delicious and the ambiance made you feel very sophisticated.
âCan I get either of you some coffee or dessert?â the waiter asked as he cleared your plates. Youâd never been one to say no to that, but Tom jumped in before you could open your mouth.
âNo thank you,â he said quickly. âJust the check please.â Then he looked at you. âI thought maybe we could walk to that bookstore you like? The one with the bakery in it? We couldâwe could get dessert there and browse.â
âOh,â you said, surprised. âYeah, that sounds great.â
âCool.â He sounded relieved.
The waiter brought out the bill and Tom grabbed it as soon as he set it on the table. âWhat are you doing?â you protested. There was normally an agreement among your friends that everyone paid for their own meals when you went out to dinner.
âIâm paying,â he insisted, waving you off as you fruitlessly tried to put your own debit card down.
âAt least let me Venmo you for my half.â
âNope.â
âTom!â
âSeriously, itâs fine.â He wouldnât even let you see how much the meal cost. Â
You could tell he wasnât going to budge for whatever reason, so you had no choice but to relent. âIf youâre sure,â you said, watching him smugly sign the receipt. You made sure to grab your flowers before you got up and followed him out of the restaurant.
The bookstore you liked was a few blocks away, but you didnât mind the walk. The air was warm but balmy, refreshing on your face. âThat was amazing,â Tom said.
âIt was,â you agreed. âIâm convinced they put actual crack in that pasta sauce. It was otherworldly.â
He laughed before he asked, a little hesitantly, âSo are you . . . having a nice time?â
You looked over at him questioningly. âOf course I am. But I always have a nice time with you.â
âGood,â he said quietly, nodding. âGood.â
âAre you?â
âYes,â Tom said immediately. âI just wanted to make sure. So, what are some of your pet peeves?â
âWhat is it with you and these questions?â Thankfully, you arrived at the bookstore and were spared from answering.
One of your favorite things about hanging out with Tom was that you didnât necessarily need to be attached at the hip or in constant conversation in order to have fun. As soon as you entered he made a beeline for the True Crime section while you went to look at the new releases.
It was nice to just browse on your own for a while, and you ended up buying a book youâd been wanting to read ever since it came out. Tom was still perusing the shelves after you checked out, so you sneakily went up to the bakery counter and bought some dessert.
He found you sitting at a table in the cafe, reading your new book. âWhatâs this?â He gestured to the two pieces of cake and cups of decaf coffee on the table in front of you. âYou shouldâve let me pay!â
Youâd been anticipating this, so you merely rolled your eyes. âCry about it. You paid for dinner; it was the least I could do.â
âThatâs not how this works,â Tom objected, but he reluctantly sat down and pulled his cake towards him anyway. The two of you discussed your books while you ate, and you tried not to act like you were eyeing his slice the entire time.
He noticed, of course. âYou wanna try?â
You nodded sheepishly. You expected him to push the plate towards you, but instead he scooped a piece up onto his fork and held it out. âHere.â A little surprised, you opened your mouth and allowed him to feed it to you. For some reason it felt oddly intimate.
He was watching you expectantly as you chewed. âGood?â
âYeah,â you managed to say, swallowing. âReally good.â
It was getting late and the store was closing soon, so you left after finishing your coffees. Usually this was when youâd call it a night and go home, but this time you felt no strong desire to. So when Tom started walking along the river instead of heading back towards the restaurant, you didnât mind at all, falling into step beside him.
The night sky was clear, giving you a breathtaking view of dozens of stars. Hardly anyone else was around, and the river below was quiet and calm. It was like you were suspended in time. You couldnât remember ever feeling so peaceful.
Tomâs hand bumped yours as you walked. You didnât think anything of it at first, but then it happened again, and this time he laced his fingers through yours.
For some reason that was what made everything suddenly fall into place, for you to finally put two and two together and realize what was going on.
Oh my God.
âTom,â you said hesitantly, shattering the comfortable silence between you.
âYeah?â
âIs this . . . a date?â
He stopped walking, forcing you to do the same. Under the soft glow of the streetlights you could see he was staring at you. âWait,â he said slowly. âThis whole time . . . you didnât know?â
Now that heâd basically just confirmed it, everything started to make sense: coming all the way to your office just to ask you to dinner, bringing you coffee, making reservations at a fancy restaurant, paying for the mealâ
You were on a date and you hadnât even realized.
âOh, God,â was all you could say. You almost wanted to laugh, though nothing about this was even remotely funny. It was like youâd been hit over the head with a brick.
How could you not have known? It shouldâve been obvious when he paid for the meal; no, when you realized youâd be eating at such a fancy place; no, when he showed up randomly on Monday, brought you coffee, and fucking asked you to dinner.
You both seemed to realize at the same time that you were still holding hands, and he quickly dropped it and stepped back. For the first time since youâd met, the air between the two of you was awkward. âIâIâm so sorry. I thought you knew.â
âI shouldâve known,â you said, shaking your head. âIâm so stupid, I just didnât thinkââ You didnât finish your sentence. You honestly couldnât figure out why you didnât realize it sooner.
Because heâs your friend, a voice in the back of your head reminded you. Heâs your friend and heâs never expressed any interest in you before, not like this.
That was true. Youâd always thought Tom was handsome, and maybe early on in your friendship youâd fantasized about him once or twice. But he always treated you normally, never outwardly showing any sign of wanting more. Â
âYouâre not stupid,â he said immediately. âI shouldâve made it more clear.â
âIâm just confused, I guess,â you said carefully. âI mean . . . why now? And why . . . me?â
He exhaled. âI overheard you the other day when you and Z were talking, and you were saying something like . . . you hadnât been properly asked out and taken on a nice date in a while. So I guess I just wanted to do that for you. Make you happy.â
Your brain felt like it was short-circuiting. You didnât know what to say to that, but he seemed to take your silence as a cue to keep going.
âThatâs why I came to your office, to ask you in person instead of doing it over text or whatever. And I saw you looking at those flowers your coworker had, so I bought you some. And I picked this restaurant because it was nice but also because it was near the bookstore. And I memorized some first-date questions in case our conversation got boring, but I think that probably wasnât necessary.â He sucked in a deep breath. âAnd now that Iâm saying all of this I realize how weird it sounds. Iâm sorry. Iâm really sorry if I made you uncomfortable.â
âOh,â you said dumbly. His previous words were still echoing in your head. I guess I just wanted to do that for you. Make you happy.
Heâd taken the time to think about all the things you liked and used that knowledge to plan the Perfect Date. You couldnât remember the last time anyone had done something so kind, so thoughtful, so . . . romantic. Did this mean what you thought it meant?
Of course, the only way you were able to translate all of this was with, âWow.â
But then he added, âAndâand I didnât do all of this because I thought it would lead to a second date or anything like that. I onlyââ
âWait,â you interrupted, your stomach plummeting. This conversation was giving you whiplash. âSo you . . . donât like me?â
âHuh?â
âYou did all of this . . . just because? You donât actually want to go on a date with me?â Now you were more confused than ever, and a little hurt beneath that.
Tomâs eyes widened. âNo! Well yes, but . . . no. Wait.â He took a deep breath. Now or never, right? âI do like you, but this was separate from all that. I only meant that I wasnât expecting anything from this. I just wanted you to have a good time.â
You nodded slowly, exhaling. âOkay. So . . . what if I told you that I did have a good time, that I like you too, and I want go out with you again?â
Tom blinked at you owlishly for a second before his face split into a huge grin, one you were sure your own was mirroring. âThen . . . Iâd say . . . same. To all of it.â
âGood,â you said, stepping closer. âIn fact, I think this has almost been the perfect first date.â
He paused. âWait, almost? What would make it perfect?â He furrowed his eyebrows, looking a little panicked. You laughed, reaching up and cupping his jaw.
âIt has to end with a good-night kiss, doesnât it?â
Tom relaxed, his hands finding their way to your waist. âOh. Yes, youâre absolutely right.â
The two of you were still smiling as you kissed, and Tom lifted one of his hands to do a silent, sneaky fist-pump.Â
Mission: success.

serotonin boost prompt whenever you find the time: gallavich date with secret smiles, sweet kisses and the handholding we all deserve â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
"We're gonna miss it, Mickey," Ian says for at least the third time, eyes on the ever-ticking clock over their fireplace. Mickey, kneeling on the floor in front of the worn sofa they had grabbed off a curb when they found out they had to get their own, just shrugs. He picks out a bright red crayon to pass to Franny, who's laying on her stomach next to him scribbling on the back of an ad for the local co-op.
"Calm down, man," he tells Ian. "She'll be here soon, can't do anything about a late train."
Ian sighs, leaning forward and rubbing his eyes. "Since when do you stand up for Debbie?"
Mickey eyes him warily from the floor. "Since it's not her fault," he answers, then asks, "Why you so worked up about it, anyway? It's not a big deal."
He sounds honestly confused, and it only makes Ian more upset. This was supposed to be their night. Their one night, all week, to just do something nice together. And Debbie had to come to them for last-minute babysitting while she went to an interview, then had to be late enough getting back to send all Ian's plans circling the drain.
He doesn't say any of that to Mickey. "It's nothing," he mumbles instead, knowing it sounds unconvincing but not really caring at the moment.
Sure enough, Mickey's eyes narrow and he opens his mouth to reply, but gets interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Mommy!" Franny cries, jumping off the floor to race to the apartment door. Mickey is slower to rise, grumbling about getting too old for sitting on the floor; if Ian we're in a better mood, he'd tease him for being perfectly fine with lying on it the other night. Ian stays put, leaving Mickey to follow their niece with a concerned glance back at him.
Ian listens to Mickey opening the door, reminding Franny to let him do it, and greeting Debbie. He knows if he followed, he'd say something about her tardiness, so he lets Mickey make his excuses and wave the two of them off.
He braces himself when he hears the door click closed again, and Mickey's footsteps come back around into the living room.
Mickey doesn't say anything about his sour mood.
"Kay, you ready?" he asks instead, grabbing his wallet from the crate temporarily serving as a coffee table.
Ian laughs humorlessly.
"I was ready an hour ago," he points out dryly. "But we missed our reservation already, Mick, we're not going anywhere now."
Mickey frowns at him. "Nah, fuck that, man," he says. "This is our night, right?" he asks, and Ian would be lying if he said that didn't warm him up a little, hearing Mickey call it that.
"Yeah," he agrees, and Mickey nods decisively.
"Let's go then," he orders, gesturing to the door. "I ain't givin' up on tonight that easy."
Ian can't help but grin, even as he asks, "go where?"
Mickey smirks, and slaps Ian on the ass when he gets up and walks past him. Ian starts, twisting to look at him with wide eyes, and Mickey waggled his eyebrows just to make Ian laugh.
"You let me worry about that, tough guy."
--
They end up outside the restaurant they had picked out together, some weird new mexican fusion place that advertised world-class margaritas. Mickey had gotten fond of the drink back in Mexico, and Ian figured it was something they could enjoy together.
"Mickey," he says as they get closer, " it took us two weeks to get in here, there's no way they held our table."
Mickey shakes his head. "Gallagher, I'm disappointed in you," he says as he leads Ian to the door. "Ain't conning you way into places your family's shtick?"
Ian just looks at him, brow furrowed, and Mickey rolls his eyes.
"Just hang back a sec, til I wave you over, alright?" he demands. "Watch and fuckin' learn."
And he's off, through the crowd at the entrance and straight up to the podium at the front. Ian can't hear what he says, but there are some wild gestures and hushed but tense words exchanged. At one point, Mickey gets out his phone and taps at it impatiently, pretending to wait for a response before waving it in the host's face.
That bit seems to do the trick, and Ian is waved over, picking his way through the other waiting groups without looking any if them in the face.
When he gets to the front, Mickey is saying, " and you're lucky he didn't have to hear any of that 'overbooked' bullshit, he'd have your fuckin' job for that," before taking off into the restaurant with Ian trailing behind.
He stops at a booth toward the back, and gestures Ian in first, sliding into the bench on the other side.
"What did you do?" Ian hisses lowly, leaning across the table toward him.
Mickey grins, and taps their feet together, catching one of Ian's and drawing it back to his side.Â
"Told 'em you were Ed Sheeran," he jokes. He reaches under the table to grab Ian's leg, pulling his foot up to rest on Mickey's lap. Ian has to lean back to make it comfortable, but the stroke of Mickey's thumb against the bone of his ankle is worth it.
"You did not," Ian pokes, but Mickey shrugs.
"Does it matter?" he asks quietly as a waiter approaches. Ian pulls his leg back, aware of how they must look, but takes Mickey's hand over the table instead.
"Guess not," he accepts, squeezing Mickey's fingers and feeling the metal of his ring. "Thanks," he adds, and Mickey's smile turns soft.
"Anytime," he murmurs, then grabs the menu to give his order.
--
"That was amazing," Ian groans an hour later, a stack of empty plates between them. Mickey hums his agreement, taking a final bite of fried ice cream dessert before tossing his spoon down with a clatter.
"Fuck yeah it was," he says with a burp that has the couple at the nearest table eying them with distaste. "Except the margaritas," he adds with a scowl, taking a long drag from the bottled beer they had quickly switched to. "Too fuckin' sweet."
"Thought you liked 'em sweet," Ian teases, leaning closer, and Mickey licks his lips.
"Nah," he says slowly, "that's just how I like my men."Â He winks, and Ian flushes immediately.
"Oh my God," he manages to squeak out, hands flat on the table. "You did not just say that."Â
Mickey laughs, open and free, and grabs Ian's hand again without prompting.
"The drinks were shit, though," he muses. "Now that I think of it, maybe I was just drinkin' straight tequila down south."
It's Ian's turn to laugh--"only you, Mick"--and they're both grinning like fools when he stops.
"Ready to get outta here, Red?" Mickey murmurs, tilting his head toward the end of the booth.
"Sure, Mick," Ian agrees easily, then let's go if his husband's hand to fumble for his wallet. "Let me just..."
"Hey, no," Mickey interrupts. "They gave away our reservation, man, we ain't payin' for shit."
"What--Mickey!" Ian whispers, but Mickey is already up and moving quickly toward the back, where he catches the door to the kitchen before it closes behind a surprised waiter and slips inside.
With a muffled groan, Ian takes off after him.
He almost makes it, but before the door shuts behind him, he hears the host yelling, "Hey, you can't go in there!"
"Shit, shit, shit," Ian mutters, faced with at least one sous-chef staring at him across the bustling kitchen. Before he has time to panic, though, Mickey is back at his side, grabbing his arm and pulling.
"This way, dipshit!" he hisses as they wind through counters and racks and boxes toward the door to the back alley. "Should've known you'd get caught," he pants, out of breath, "it's the fuckin' hair, man, too bright."
"You like my hair," Ian offers stupidly. Mickey stops long enough to make sure Ian sees him roll his eyes, and grabs a folded tablecloth and a bottle of something fancy from next to the door before he shoves it open with a hip and pulls Ian out into the cool night air.
Ian looks back for pursuit, but the kitchen workers couldn't care less. One of them even salutes him with a bread knife, lips twitching, until the door closes and breaks their line of sight.
They run for a few blocks anyway, until Mickey tugs him into a different alley to catch their breaths.
"That was some date night," Ian pants, hands on knees and a wide grin on his face.
"Night ain't over yet," Mickey disagrees. He pushes off the brick wall he had leaned against, motions back to the street with the arm not holding what he pilfered from the restaurant kitchen. "C'mon, man, we got somewhere to be."
Then he's off again, albeit at a more sedate pace, and Ian laughs again as he follows. He catches up with a few long strides and grabs Mickey's hand, letting his husband lead him once again.
--
This time, they wander farther, only stopping when they come to a park with overly green grass and a neatly manicured baseball diamond.
It isn't their field, the one with the dugout they used to frequent; that field is back Southside, and they haven't walked that far. But it's close, and Ian's heart pounds as Mickey leads him around the open fencing and toward the outfield.
They stop at the greenest point, and Mickey releases Ian's hand to throw down his stolen tablecloth, kicking the edges until it's more or less flat and open. He plops down immediately, just off center, and motions for Ian to do the same as he uses his pocket knife to uncork the stolen bottle of booze.
Ian sits as Mickey takes a swig of the mystery liqour, then accepts the bottle when he passes it over.
"This is nice," he says after a long sip of what turned out to be a moderately pleasant red. "How did you know it was here?"
Mickey reaches for the bottle again, taking another swallow before he answered. "Was helping Debs look at schools," he admits. "For Franny, when she's older."
Ian doesn't press. He loves how much Mickey dotes on their niece, but he knows talking about it makes him uncomfortable still, their own future hanging over them.
He lays down instead, and looks up. The stars are out, glittering above them in patterns he doesn't understand, but thinks must mean something good.
"Thanks for tonight," he says softly to the sky.
The tablecloth rustles as Mickey leans on his elbows next to him.
"Anytime," he replies. He looks down at Ian, and turns on his side so he can brush red hair back from his face.
"Gonna tell me why you were so upset, earlier?" he questions, voice light but serious. "Not like you to freak out like that."
Ian nuzzles into the hand on his face, and closes his eyes. "Just wanted to do something for you," he admits. "You were so excited about finding that place. And you're always doing stuff like that for me."
His eyes flutter open again, fixing on Mickey's face. "Figures the first time I try, everything goes wrong and you have to take over again."
Mickey doesn't respond right away. He watches him, thumb stroking his cheekbone, hand curling around behind his ear.
When he does speak, it's quiet. "I like doin' that shit for you, Ian," he says. "Makes me...happy. To see you smilin'."
Ian's lips stretch into a gentle curve, and Mickey returns it. "Yeah," he whispers, leaning down until their noses brush. "Like that," he finishes, the words lost against Ian's lips as they kiss.
Ian doesn't know how long they stay there, laying on that thin piece of fabric over the grass, making out under the stars. He doesn't care. Because it's Mickey. And despite everything that went wrong tonight, being there with Mickey was perfect.
They're eventually interuppted by what feels like rain, but turns out a second later to be the timed sprinkler system switching on. Mickey yelps into his mouth at the cold water as they break apart, scrambling to dash across the field and to the relative safety of the sidewalk. They leave the tablecloth where it is, a sad heap if fabric wet with water and remainder of their overturned bottle of red wine, and fall against each other as they turn to head toward home.
"Still wanna thank me?" Mickey jokes on the way, teeth chattering as his skin dries.
"Yeah, I do," Ian says, nudging him with a hip before pulling him back, wrapping a long warm arm around his shoulders.
"Tonight was perfect."
And if they stop again to kiss against under the L on their way, Mickey's back pressed to the support and legs hugging Ian's waist, well. It is still their night, after all.

âď¸WOULD YOU FANCY A CUP OF TEA?âď¸
Prompt: This was an idea that @drewmcintyrekoccsrocbwdgfan gave me in a cold winter night of 1845, and I was only able to finish it now đ Sorry this took me so long, girl! But hey, better late than never, right? đđ
Word count: Long-ish
Pairings: Drew McIntyre x Reader
Warnings: Fluff, a reader with a âno no to the kidsâ policy, a Drew who loves children (and is a teasing bastard), a sister whoâs a pain in the ass and a niece that has a very smart mind (to say the least đ¤Ł)
Editor: @thenightmareismyreality
Tag: @marlananicole , @akiko-tanaka , @blondekel77 , @theworldofotps , @sassymox , @new-zealand-chic , @yungbludjazz360 , @drew-is-boo
Notes: Itâs a yes for Drew and a no to the kids for me đ If youâd like to check out my previous works you can find them on my Masterlist đ
âUNCLE DREWâ Emily screamed and ran as fast as her little legs could
âThere she is!â He squatted down and grabbed her in his arms, before standing up and spinning her around
âShe was so excited to see himâ Annie, my sister, said
âI canât imagine whyâ I joked, which made her laugh
We both knew Drew loved children and Emily somehow knew that, since she used all of her 4 years old wits to make Drew play any games she wanted to.
âWhere are you and Bob going anyway?â I asked her
âWeâre going to a fancy restaurantâ She clapped, excitedly
âUuuhhh..Bob wants to get some, huh?â I teased
âEwww, shut upâ She laughed
âIâm happy for you, sis! You guys deserve some alone timeâ
âThanksâ She smiled âItâs nice to have some adult time, with no kids around...I love Emily, but-â
âYou canât wait to get rid of her?â I joked
âWhy are you so mean?â She tried to hold back a laugh, but failed âI donât want to get rid of her! But kids do make you forget how it was before having them, so this is just a nice change for a night. Besidesâ She rested her hand on my belly âIâll owe you a babysitting night for when you and Drew have your babyâ
âOh God, NO!â I slapped her hand away âYou better knock on wood, you bitch!â I scowled
âWhat do you have against kids anyways?â She asked, laughing
âIâm not very fond of them, and you already know thatâ I frowned
âWhat will you do when Drew says he wants a baby with you?â She teased
âIâll tell him to get a divorce and find another woman to pop out babies withâ
âYeah, right. Of course you will!â She said, with an incredulous tone
âAuntie Y/N, I need to peeâ Emily tugged on my t-shirt
âOkay, letâs goâ I held her tiny hand as we made our way to the bathroom
âDonât want them, huh?â Annie screamed, and I pretended to scratch the back of my neck just so I could flip the bird at her
âŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ.
I watched Drew and Emily play tea party. She grabbed her little teapot and three cups, one for her, one for Drew and one for Ruffles - her teddy bear
âWould you fancy a cup of tea?â She asked Drew, with a British accent she picked up from Bob (since he was from London)
I couldnât help but laugh at her tiny figure holding the tea cup with her pinky up, and Drew struggling to hold the cup handle with his thick fingers.
I had to admit it was one of the most adorable scenes Iâve ever seen in my life.
âUncle Drew, be careful! Itâs very hotâ She warned him âYou have to blow on it, like thisâ She began to blow on her tea cup
âOhâ Drew said and repeated her actions
She offered a piece of her plastic cake and he accepted, complimenting her cooking skills.
After they were done, she asked if she could braid his hair, and of course he obliged
Her attempt at braiding turned his beautiful dark hair into a messy knot, but he didnât mind whatsoever
They played spa day (for which she requested cucumber slices, so they could place them on their eyes), she painted his nails baby pink, to match hers. He played a very concerned doctor for a sick Ruffles, who turns out, just had too much honey for lunch, which caused him to have a stomach pain.
We all had dinner and then sat down to watch Beauty and The Beast, and in the middle of the movie Emily fell asleep on my lap.
âIâll take her to bedâ Drew whispered, picking her up in his arms
I watched him carefully carry her up the stairs, and felt my heart swell at watching such an adorable moment.
Drew returned a few minutes later and sat beside me as I searched Netflix for a movie. He placed his hand on my thigh and looked at me with puppy dog eyes
âWhat?â I asked, confused
âI was thinking that, maybe we should try for oneâ He tried his luck
âTry for one what?â I played dumb
âYou know...a babyâ
âOh God, you too?â I rolled my eyes for dramatic effect âFirst Annie bugging me to be a baby factory, and now you! Whatâs up with you people and babies?â
âWhatâs wrong with them?â He asked, slightly offended
âEverythingâ I mumbled
âI think you would be a great mom, loveâ
I looked at him with a disgusted look on my face âTry again, Drewâ
He laughed, before saying âYou would look pretty cute with a baby bumpâ He smirked
âEwww, noâ I shoved him away when he tried to caress my belly
âI thought you liked to make babiesâ He said, quickly pinning me down on the couch
âI like the process of making them but not having them! Thereâs a big difference, you know?â
âCâmon, lass. Wouldnât you like to have a little one running around, calling you mommy?â He teased, caressing my ribs softly
The bastard knew I couldnât think straight when he talked to me or touched me like that.
âNoâ I shivered, when his fingertips lightly stroked over the tips of my breasts
âAre you sure?â He whispered, nibbling my bottom lip
I sighed in defeat âDamn you, McIntyreâ
As I pulled his body closer to mineâŚ.
Please if youâre comfortable with it, let me know your thoughts on this? Feedbacks are always appreciated đĽ°đ

Guzma babysitting Readerâs Niece
(A/N): BACK ON MY BULLSHIT AGAIN! BUT THIS TIME ITâS NOT ALL THAT SELF-INDULGENT AND MIGHT POSSIBLY BE TURNED INTO A SUPER FIC IF I FEEL LIKE IT
In all honesty iâve thought about making another largeass super self-indulgent Guzma x Reader mega fic, but Iâm not sure if I want to? I donât know if anybody would read it, so thatâs what this post is for!!! If you like this and want to see actual Guzma x Reader with plot and not just fluff drabbles lmk!! I have a bunch of asks to address so maybe iâll get to that too soon
Anyways, back to the fic.
Mini Summary: (Y/N)âs niece needs to be babysat while (Y/N) is interviewed, so they turn to Guzma and crew to help out for a bit. Chaos ensues.
Rating/Triggers: UH drugs are mentioned but not really? THE KID DOES NOT DO DRUGS!!!! but yeah if that makes you uncomfy iâd be careful with it??\
Pairing: Guzma/Gender Neutral!Reader (I used the honorific âTitiâ which is gender neutral for âTiaâ or âTioâ [extra thanks to Ocha_Bocha for helping me with that one <3] and tried to make it as gender neutral as possible. Originally this was written with a male reader, and then I went female, and ultimately attempted to eliminate gender completely. [Following the footsteps of Splatoon teehee])
Fic under cut!!!!!
"Are you sure this is a good idea, honey?" You clutch your niece's hand as you approach the large walls that separate Po Town from the rest of Ula'Ula Island. It's not that you don't trust the man who you're leaving her with- in fact, those two have been acquainted previously and seem to get along fairly well- It's his friends who you're concerned about.
"..." Her silence is expected, as the kid isn't all that talkative. Recognizing the young girl's silence, you frown.Â
"You can stay in the office lounge if you really want to. I know you aren't the biggest fan of crowds, and um- Guz has some pretty loud friends-" Your explanation of what to be expected is quickly interrupted by a blue haired young man decked in black and white clothing. "Yo yo, what's with the kid?!"Â
You arch a brow. You knew that Guzma worked with kids, but this guy couldn't be any older than 15! "I could say the same for you. I'm here to talk to Guzma-"
"Ya mean the boss? Why would some random chick want anything ta do with the leader of the Team Skull, huh?!"
A pink haired girl dressed in the same outfit walks up to the boy, crossing her arms. "Shut it, ya clod. Don't you remember the conversation we had with Boss yesterday?"
Hearing this, the blue haired boy's eyes light up in an epiphany. "Ohhhhh shit- Right-"
"Watch yer fuckin' language around the kiddo." She lightly smacks the back of Dansei's head. "She's in good hands, ma'am."
Another pink haired woman, this one being someone you finally recognize, walks in and smacks both of the delinquents in the head once more. "You say that after cussing, Reese?"Â
Thank God. Plumeria. "Hey Plumes-" You smile weakly, waving politely with your free hand. Your niece does the same. Another young man, this one much shorter than the first and with green curly hair scrambles after Plumeria, jumping up and down to be seen. "Sorry about these numskulls. I'll lead y'all to the big boss man, yo. No worries at all, so you can chillax!"
I'm regretting this more and more by the second.
The crew starts whistling some hip hop tune as they make their way to the Shady House, the smaller boy beatboxing. You've taken this time to offer a piggyback ride to your niece, who's politely declined. Are all kids like this? Or is it just her?
Once they approach the boss, Guzma immediately jumps out of his chair, his signature shit-eating grin plastered on his face. "Eyyyyyy! (Y/N)!!! Kiddo!! What's up, homeslice?!" He hops down the stairs and crouches so he can get at eye-level with the young girl, offering his fist for a pound-it.
She bumps her fist against his, smiling just a bit. It's more of a reaction than you expected, at least. "S-sup, Uncle Guzma-"Â
Looks like his slang is rubbing off on her. That's cute.
"Thanks for droppin' by, Doll. No need to worry about Little Miss Troublemaker over here, I got it all under control." He picks up your niece and walks over to you, pressing a looooooooongass smooch on your cheek. The other Team Skull members all make mini comments, like "Ewwww-", "Grosss-", and "Cooties-", causing Plumeria to once again smack their heads together.Â
You roll your eyes, unable to stop the smirk on your face from growing any further. "Not in front of the kids, Guz." "Ah, right, right- My bad." His shades slide onto his face, hiding the bright red blush that had crept onto his cheeks. "Well, you should probably get goin', ey? The Aether Foundation's one lucky company to have you interviewin' for a position."
"Dork." You boop his nose, then your niece's. "Call me if you need me, okay honey? I'll be back as soon as I can."
"Okay, Titi (Y/N)-" You smile at the nickname while the others snicker. 'Titi' sounds an awful lot like 'Tittie', and considering three of the 7 people in the room are immature teenagers, there's definitely some laughing going on in the background. Plumeria looks very tired. How does she deal with these kids all the time?
"Alright, I'll be back. Don't light anything on fire, okay?" You yell as you walk off, feeling a slight hint of unease at the idea of leaving your young niece with so many delinquents, even if it's just for a few hours. It'll be fine, though. Guzma's there to keep them from doing anything stupid.
You laugh at the thought. Who am I kidding? He's probably gonna be the one who explodes something first.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The interview itself wasn't all that bad. You're fairly certain that you either aced it or put yourself up for consideration, which in itself helped your confidence just a bit. With the absence of Lusamine and the arrest of several of her chairmen, the foundation was very antsy and in need of someone who could handle the Pokemon Observation department. With your background in medicine and PR, you were rationally on the list of potential replacements, and despite your initial resistance, learning that the company would be run by somebody that WASN'T the manipulative little bitch Lusamine gave you enough comfort to accept the offer for the interview. Was it just an offer or an invitation? You weren't quite sure, but Wick was very insistent on you showing up.
Either way, you're pretty certain you got the job. Good on you.Â
You can't help but wonder how your niece is doing, surrounded by so many troublemakers. As you make your way to the entrance of the Shady House, you can hear loud music, causing you to feel a small tint of anxiety. She'll be fine.
You walk up to the door and creak it open, the smell of burnt⌠whatever the fuck that is flooding your nostrils. Of course. They lit something on fire.
"Guz??" You call out to the empty room. "Plumes? Anybody home?" As expected, there's no response. You start to feel more and more anxious the more ground you start to cover. Where are they? Peeking your head around the corridor, your anxiety comes to its peak when-
"And that's why you should never do drugs, aight?"
H-Huh?
Your niece sits on Guzma's knee as he bounces it up and down, his signature shit-eating grin plastered on his face like usual. Awfully burnt cookies sit on the table, explaining the smell from earlier, and Plumeria seems to be asleep with the other team skull grunts. Are they⌠napping? Seems like it.Â
She nods enthusiastically, taking a bite of a charred cookie and grimacing shortly after, causing the two to both laugh in unison.
"Doesn't matter if it's just for recreational purposes, you could still get hooked, and that's the last thing we want!" Grinning once again, Guzma pokes her forehead.
Hypocrite. You're reminded of the first time you two had kissed, which happened to be shortly after you both had blazed a couple of joints. It's enough to get you laughing, though.
"Huh?! What're you doing here so early? Don't tell me ya flunked THAT bad!" Guzma's eyes widen, a genuine look of bewilderment painted on his face.
"I did not flunk! I think I did great!" You huff, crossing your arms defiantly. "It's suuuuuuuper comforting that you thought I failed, Guz."
"Nononono I was joking!! Right, kiddo??" Your niece quickly nods. "See???? No harm, no foul!"
Arching a brow, you walk up to the two and pick up the young girl. "Mhmmm. Did you have fun, honey?"
She nods again, unable to contain the grin on her face. "Uncle Guzma told me about his Pokemon training! And I got to ride on Golisopod's back!"Â
The large bug type pokemon bops up and down upon hearing its name, prompting a smirk from Guzma. "Yeah, I told ya I'd take care of her. She's welcome back anytime, okay?"
"Thanks, Guz." You peck his cheek, and your niece sticks her tongue out, closing her eyes.Â
"Icky cooties!!" Where the hell did she hear that? The only people you can think of who'd say such a thing are in the other room snoozing, so- Yeah, actually, you know exactly who taught her that word.
"Well, I'm gonna getchu with my cooties! And my tickles!" You raise a hand menacingly, wiggling your fingers with one eye closed. She immediately curls up, not out of fear, but out of excitement. It's nice to see her so happy again.
After a very long tickle session, you quickly glance at the large grandfather clock, noting the short hand of the clock slowly approaching the number 8. Shit. "We gotta go, kiddo. Your dad isn't gonna be all that happy if we get home any later than 8:30. Besides, it's past your bedtime."
"I bet Uncle Guzma stays up past his bedtime-" She yawns. "Can we stay for a little longer?"
How can I say no to that face? You find yourself incredibly conflicted. Do you tell her you have to leave anyways? Or do you stay and risk getting in trouble by your brother-in-law?
"Eh, as much as I'd love to have you over for longer, kiddo- Look at your Titi (Y/N). They look exhausted."
You smile gratefully at the comment, glad that it doesn't have to be you to tell your niece to go home. "Yeah, I'm beat. We can hang out some other time, okay? I promise." You pat her head and get ready to leave.
"Aww⌠okay. Bye, Uncle Guzma!! Bye Golisopod!" She holds your hand, and the two of you eventually walk your way back to the car. As you drive away, one thing lingers in your head. You can't think of anything else, in all honesty.
Guzma's great with kids. I should've expected as much, but⌠I'm glad he gets along with my family.
Your stomach rumbles at the intersection. I'd kill for some malasadas right about now-Â
Okay, maybe you CAN think of something else.

Raise yourselves up (Weâre done)
Two prompts in one; letâs do this. I tweaked the ideas a bit though.
 It was Bustier who broke the news to Marinette and Chloe, and she did it once again the most inappropriate fashion, â-And so the class feels it would be best if both of you were excluded from the class trip at the end of the year.â She finished. The class was just about to let out and she told the two girls in front of them all.
There were mean snickers and smug looks from the other students. The ones who just avoid the girlsâ gazes; Adrien, Juleka, and Rose. The three had decided to stay out of it and just side with the majority. Marinette and Chloe had become best friends after Lila had gotten her hooks into class the year before. She turned all of Marinetteâs dearest friends to ex-friends and turned them into bullies. That was fine with Marinette. She was done with two-faced people; done with turn-coats, and cowards. Marinette didnât need them. Or want them. Chloe at least had the guts to stand on her own two feet and for what she believed in. It was a new year and a new Marinette.
Neither blond nor bluenette blinked.
âThatâs fine,â Marinette shrugged. âIt will be a relief not to have to fundraise for the trip.â
Chloe smirked, âDitto. A trip to New York City, completely unfunded by the school, is going to be a lot to pay for.â
âTheyâll have plenty of time though,â Marinette hummed. âA little less than a year.â The two girls cast them cool looks, âGood luck!â They chimed as the bell rang.
No one understood why they didnât react the way they thought. Alya had expected tears from Marinette. Rage from Chloe. Then apologies and promises to do better. In fact, they all did. But they didnât get it. Instead, they were left wondering why the two girls laughed their way out of the classroom.
It would take them months to realize.
Both girls knew though. Chloe always managed to convince her parents to fund thirty percent of whatever grand trip the class took every year. Marinette managed to put together enough amazing fundraisers to raise sixty percent of the funds needed. Everyone else in class only ever managed to pull together the last ten percent. Barely.
The next day the brand new World Travelersâ Club announced their formation and invited anyone to join. A few members of the class perked up until they heard Marinette and Chloe were the presidents. Instead, the class bashed the club and joked it was the girlsâ lame attempt at making friends.
That was the last they heard of the club.
To the rest of the students of Bustierâs classâs credit, they attempted right away to start fundraising plans. However, no one in the class knew just when they should start and no one had any unique ideas; they only had a car cash fundraiser, the usual bake sale, maybe a raffle. Standard stuff they were sure would work. After Marinette, the former class president, and resident bully as far as they were concerned, always started off with those. Never realizing that she only started out with them at the very beginning of the year, and never stopped there. Nor did they realize just how much planning went into each event.
 The class's first event was a car wash in November. It was a poor idea, as the weather had begun to take a turn for the worst and barely any cars showed up. They hosted it at the school figuring people would want to help out school children. Nino played music. And all the friends had a blast. But the kids made a total of 143 dollars a daysâ worth of work. They vowed their next fundraiser would be better.
During the two months, Marinette and Chloe and the rest of the World Travelersâ club; Kagami, Claude, Aurore, Marc, Luka, Ondine, and a bunch of other students who always wanted to see the world fundraised like crazy. They decided that their class trip would be to six different places; Los Angeles, Star City, Central City, Metropolis, Gotham, and finally New York City. It would be a tour. Â They would spend two weeks in each city, touring and visiting, before moving on to the next. Each city had its own highlights and hotels that need to be arranged and paid for. Marinette did the math; they would need to raise a little less than $35,000 to pay for everything. She made it an even $40,000 to be safe.
Marinette set up a go fund me page an hour later. It wouldnât be easy but Marinette knew they could do it if they worked hard and fast. (She only half-heartedly glared at Chloe when two grand mysteriously was donated to the clubâs go-fund-me five minutes after she announced it the class. She did glare when Jagged and Clara both gave five grand each to their favorite designer and faux-niece. But stopped when Kagami said her mother was also donating $3,000 to the club.)
A week after the clubâs formation, they had their first fundraiser. A car wash. Marinette knew it was best to get that one done as soon as possible while the summer heat was still around. It went great. They had it at a local park. Chloe played music off her phone. During the event, they sold ice cream and other cold sweets. Ondine had the great idea of selling full water balloons to children so they could run around. Marc sold quick funny Caricatures of customers. They raised a total of $2752, minus the two hundred for expenses that Chloe and Mariette fronted themselves.
The second fundraiser Bustierâs class held was a bake sale. It was in the middle of December and more or less a last-minute idea. Alya spearheaded the event, remembering how much money they pulled in from the last bake sale. She had the smart idea of doing it during a pep rally. Only to remember at the last minute that Marinette usually supplied all the best goods freely given from the bakery. Or made them herself. It didnât take a genius to know that Alya nor any of the class would be welcome in the bakery based on the cold looks Tom and Sabine had given Alya last time she went in with her mother. So Alya declared all the kids would make their own goods.
âŚFour people got food poisoning; one of them was Kim. Most of the baked goods were dry and hard and virtually unappealing. Roseâs sugar cookies sold well but mostly because they were one of the few things that tasted and looked good. The class made a total of 128 bucks. They were lucky they werenât sued.
The World Travelersâ clubâs second fundraiser was actually a pool party at Chloeâs. She had led the entire event. The weather was still hot. They got Luka and his new band My Shadowâs Wonderland to play; Kitty section had sadly broken up due to Lilaâs schemes months before. The club members sold tickets to get in. They also sold food: hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, ice cream, and funnel cakes. Kagami sold Balloon which caused her friends to do double-takes. Because Kagami knew how to make balloon animals, what in the world? Marinette and Marc did face paint and temp tattoos. Nearly everyone from school showed up. Even Bustierâs class, though they hadnât seemed to realize The World travelersâ club was hosting. They earned a total of $3101. Marinette had long since learned the greatest trick of the fundraiser; donât let make it obvious itâs a fundraiser. Make it fun and people would come.
Their third fundraiser happened two weeks later just at the beginning of October. It was Claudeâs idea and he called it; âCan you Arcade it?â No laughed but he thought it was hilarious. They had got permission to use the gym to set up a video Gamersâ paradise. He got this idea when he heard the old arcade had finally shut down after Mr. and Mrs. Gladstone had opted to retire. He got the couple to donate the old game machine for a day to help them out. Claude only had to babysit their pet Parakeet for two weeks while they were out of town. Old arcade games line the walls. New games with TV borrowed from the club members were set up with the new game systems. They sold food and anything they thought a gamer would want. Aurore somehow got the local Taco Bell to sponsor the event so ever twenty minutes or so they had a deal with commercial playing in the background. This fundraiser attracted most parents with younger children; though a good percent was just nostalgic dads who ended up playing the games as much as the kids. $1700 was earned; most of it in quarters.
 Their next fundraiser happened at the end of October and it was a haunted house; or rather a haunted school. They teamed up with a few other clubs to put the event together. They didnât earn that much money; $300 after it was split between the clubs. However, all the kids had a ton of fun.
When November hit, and the weather turned cold, and everyone wanted everything pumpkin spice. (And Bustierâs class first fundraiser was about to happen) Marinette held did her bake sale. She with the help of the other members of the club made all the sweets; for once she didnât have to get her parents to donate the baked goods. In additional, Marinette and the gang sold handmade little dolls of Ladybug and Chat Noir and the new miraculous heroes that had replaced the last team. The dolls were a big hit. Such a hit that Chloe got the idea of marketing them online for a much better price. The fundraiser earned about $600 bucks which werenât bad.
Chloe and Marinette started selling the dolls for $10 bucks each plus shipping and handling. Chloe and Marinette made the dolls. The others took care of the shipping part. The
dolls only cost 2 bucks to make, as they were mostly yarn, so they profited 8. Chloe said that was how the business made money.
By the time December hit, they were had raised more half of their overall target goal.
During the fundraisers, each kid used their own influence via social media to get people to go their Go-Fund-me page. Luka and his band, all of who members of the club anyway, used Youtube and Instagram to promote their bands also asked fans to make a donation. Aurore used her Ladybug site Bugout to ask her fans. Ondine did swim training videos did the same. Marc who did drawing tutorial asked too. They didnât get a lot from; a dollar here, three there, maybe a five if they were lucky but every bit count.
Their next fundraiser was a raffle in one of the empty unsure ballrooms of Chloeâs hotel, and it happened not long before Christmas break. This was spearheaded by Aurore. The strategy was sound; most people were still rushing to get presents. All they have to do was bid on the item they want. She got local businesses to donate. A fancy dinner from one restaurant, a bouquet of roses, expensive perfumes, a massage chair; a bunch of gift cards of various stores. Chloe got her dad to donate two items a spa day and a luxury Spa weekend. Marc offered art lessons. He also auctioned off some of his portraits. Ondine offered swim lessons. Aurore got offered a meet-and-greet with Ladybug, who even showed up to make an appearance. Kagami offered sword fighting lessons. Luka offers guitar lessons. His bandmate, Naomi, offered drum lessons. Another girl, Bridgette offered piano lessons. Marinette offered her usually big-ticket item; a custom design by MDC. The night was a hit. Once again, Marinetteâs item was one of the highest bid items of the night. All in all, the kids brought in a total of $4728.
January came and Bustierâs class decided it was time for another fundraiser. Just as the Worldâs travelerâs club decided it was time for a break. Though they still sold the dolls; which had brought in $1800 since they had started selling them; Ladybug and her crew apparent had fans all over the world. This meant by the time February hit, they had just over $10,000 left to raise and five months to do it. They would leave at the beginning of June. They already paid for all of their plane tickets and paid for their hotel rooms. All their tours booked and paid for. All reservations made. And then reconfirmed by a rather stern Chloe. Passports were bought.
Bustierâs fundraiser idea was once again headed by Alya, the new class president after Lila decline the role as she would be far too busy. Alya decided a raffle would be perfect. The one they did the year before had been amazing. Again, Alya forgot that Marinette and Chloe handled nearly everything which was why it was such a big hit. Alya had to use the school gym.
âItâs not like Iâd ask Chloe,â Alya huffed to her boyfriend. âIâm just glad I wonât have to deal with her or Marinette on our trip.â
âYou said it, babe,â Nino leaned back in his desk. âNo need for that kind of drama.â
The raffle was their most successful fundraiser so far much to Alya smug face when Marinette and Chloe walked into class on Monday. Â All the kids in the class participated and offered their own talents for use; offering lessons or gift cards from their parents' businesses. Their biggest hit was a picture and an autograph from Adrien Agreste.
âWe raised over a thousand dollars,â Alya crossed her arms. A satisfied look on her face. She had worked hard. They had all worked hard. âBeat that!â
Marinette and Chloe shared a look before they literally fell to the ground laughing. âI canât!â Chloe gasped for air. âI canât breathe!â
Marinette struggled to contain herself, âThis! I!â She couldnât even get out the words. She was laughing so hard.
They didnât even bother to pay the glares they received any attention. It was just too funny.
For the rest of the week, it was the running joke between them. Every now and then, the other students in the class would âBeat that!â And laughter from the back of the room.
February came and the kids decided in anticipation for Valentine âs Day. They would do a Date Auction. It was Ondineâs idea and it was a huge success. Surprising considering it, it was supposed to be simple and easy and something to get them back into the fundraiser's mood after a month's breath. Most of the kids now had a strong online following and become popular among the youth of Paris for their awesome parties. So when word spread that the World Travelersâ Club was doing a date auction; a lot of students from school showed up. A lot of students from other schools showed up. One girl traveled from England specifically for Luka.
Marinette, followed by Chloe, Then Luka, then Kagami, then Aurore was the highest auctioned date of the night. Claude and Felix were both a little put out. Marc didnât mind. Mostly because of the best looking guy at the auction bid on him.
All in all, they raised $2100.
The next fundraiser was in March. The spring warm weather had hit in full. Flowers were blooming. The fundraiser was a carnival Luka planned. Everyone set up carnival booths and games and fun prizes. Live music. They had it in on the school soccer field. A lot of parents with their kids showed up, looking for a family-friendly event to enjoy. Total they raised $2421.
Marinetteâs dolls brought in an additional $900. Then it was official they only needed 5,000 more.
Bustierâs class tried another fundraiser; a dance party in the school gymnasium; hosted by Nino. They sold tickets to get in, snacks and drinks. They put off filers everywhere and did everything they could to promote the event. They made $750 dollars. And were proud.
 In April, the World travelersâ club did another bake sale and another car wash and a ping pong tournament was a really big hit for some reason. By the end of April, they had met their goals. All loose ends tied up. All the tickets bought. Permissions slip signed.  Four teachers, who were more than excited to volunteer to spend near all-expense-paid vacation in the most popular cities in the world, would be chaperoning. They were done.
By the first Monday of May, Chloe and Marinette breathed a sigh a relief as the stress had finally left their shoulders. The only thing they had to worry about was packing, and they had a month to do it.
The two girls once again arrived to see the smug grins of the classmates' faces. Bustierâs class had been fundraisers like crazy so much so that even the teacher was looking over her students proudly.
âWeâve raised $5,829,â Lila announced. The Italian girl looked smug as she had done al the work. âFundraising was hard but we did what we had to.â
âWay better then we did under the last class president,â Alya hissed.
Marinette and Chloe looked at each other again. It was Chloe who spoke, âSo youâre not going to New York?â
The question caught everyone off guard.
âWhat?â Alya hissed. âOf course weâre going to New York!â
Marinette sighed, âNo, WEâ She pointed between her and Chloe, âAnd the World Travelerâs club is going to New York and a bunch of other places. We raised over $40,000.â Most of the students turned green.
â$40- $40,000,â Nino stuttered. âWhat? how?â
âWe worked hard, like we always,â Chloe flipped her hair. âThat was our goal since September. Its how much it would cost to pay for the entire trip. For every member and required chaperones to go. Why? What was your goal?â
It went quiet. Alya spoke next, âGoal?â
      Again, Chloe and Marinette
âGoal,â Marinette nodded. âThe amount you needed to fund the entire trip to New York?â
âWe didnât have a goal,â Rose answered.
The two girls stared at them.
âWhat airline are you using?â Chloe asked. âHow much do the tickets cost?â
No answer.
âWhat hotel are you staying at?â
No answer.
âDid you get your passports yet?â
Nothing.
âHave you made any reservations?â Marinette asked. âAny down payments?â No answered. Just pale faces.
      Chloe just shook her head, âDid you at least get approval from the school board to clear the trip?â
âWe need them to approve it?â Kim asked. âWhy itâs our trip?â
âSafety and legal concerns,â Marinette said slowly. âIt takes weeks to get approved. Permissions slips have to be signed and turned in. Chaperones found.â
âMiss Bustierâs our chaperone,â Mylene said brightly, and the teacher nodded eagerly.
      Marinette fought the urge to scoff. Bustier couldnât chaperone a ping pong tournament. âFine but with a class this size, you need at least two more. Maybe three.â
      Chloe crossed her arms, âHow were you getting to New York? What were your plans? Did you book any tours? What were you going to do in New York?â
      No one said a word.
      Marinette smirked, âGood on you, I guess. You must have some killer fundraising ideas with only a month and a half until summer break.â She sighed. âI couldnât do it myself. Way too much stress. The World Travelerâs club was killing ourselves since September to get everything done.â
âSeptember,â Rose gasped. âReally.â She deflated. âWe didnât start till November, and the car wash was pretty bad.â There were nods.
âYep,â Chloe said. âI think we did about fifteen or more fundraisers. Little ones and big ones. How many did you guys do?â
      Nino frowned, âFive.â
âWe worked really hard, though!â Alix slammed her fist on the desk. âNothing worked.â
      Marinette and Chloe shared another look.
âShame,â Marinette said as they glided to their seats.
âLast year, the class did so well,â Chloe smirked. âWonder what changed?â
âNothing!â Alya shouted. âWe did the same thing we do every year. Bake Sale, car wash, Raffle, Dance Party; everything!
      There were nods.
âItâs not fair!â
âWe didnât do anything wrong.â
      There more shouts and complaints.
      Bustier calmed everyone down, âNow class, letâs not give up hope. Our trip last year was a success. And I know we can pull it off again. What did we do then that we arenât doing now?â
      The class went silent as they thought up what they were doing wrong. Surprisingly, it was Juleka who answered, âMarinette did most of the organizing,â She whispered, loud enough for everyone to hear; one of the few brave things she did all year. âHer and Chloe come up with all the fundraiser ideas and they plan them out too. They always did; every year.â
âThis year they didnât,â Rose frowned.
      And just like that, it was like that, it was like a balloon burst inside the students.
âThey always plan the best fundraisers,â Kim frowned. âAnd we always met our goals.â
      Lila glared. She didnât think that when she convinced the class to kick the girls off the trip that theyâd be getting rid of anyone who did any real work. However, the glare quickly turned into a frown with a few crocodile tears, âThen we didnât they help us? We needed them obviously.â
      Before any of the other students could direct their anger to the girls at their betrayal, Nino shrugged, âBecause we told them they couldnât come with us, remember? So they didnât help out. They told us they wouldnât. Why should they? It wasnât their trip.â
      Frustration and rage built inside Alya. This wasnât how it was supposed to go. The class shouldâve been headed to a glamorous trip to New York, with Marinette and Chloe left to suffer alone in Paris wishing they had been invited. Where was justice?
âI bet you're happy!â Alya growled at her ex-friend. âOur trip is ruined thanks to you.â
      Marinette smirked, âNo. I didnât do anything. I was and am in no way involved with your class trip. Just like you wanted.â
âYou couldâve helped us!â Alix yelled.
âWhy?â Chloe asked.
      Silence.
âYou made it clear we couldnât go to New York with you,â Chloe said. âWhy would we help you? Itâs not like weâre friends with you.â
      Angry eyes and red faces filled the classroom. No one wanted to admit that they got themselves into trouble.
      Alya had to be held back in her chair by Nino, âYou couldâve warned me how hard being class president was. Or what we needed to do to go on the trip. But you didnât care about us. You donât think about us at all.â
      Marinette leaned back in her seat, an easy smile on her face, with frost in her eyes, âSweetie, I havenât thought any of you for months.â
      Before anyone could say anything else. Bustier decided to try to take control again, âMarinette, Chloe; there must be something you can do. Maybe the class can tag along on your trip.â
      Hopeful expressions overtook the students' faces.
      Both girls looked at the teacher like she was stupid.
âEven if that was possible,â Chloe narrowed her eyes. âAnd itâs not. We had everything booked for months, reservations made. How will they pay for it? We only raised enough for the World Travelersâ Club.â
      It was Adrien who answered, âCanât you do something?â He said with hopeful eyes. âOur friends are really looking forward to it.â
âNo.â Marinette snapped. âThey are not my friends. And even if they were, it would take another 40 grand to get everyone in class on the trip. Thereâs no time to get that type of cash. Even if there was, it would still be weeks to get School board approval. The World Travelersâ leave on the first. Thereâs nothing to do.â
âWeâre not risking our trip for yours,â Chloe and Marinette chimed together, looking very much like the Ice Queens the students had called them behind their backs.
      That was that. Alya and the other students would shoot glares at the two girls, and make mean comments for the next month; mostly about them being selfish. The girls didnât pay them any mind. Lila tried to join the World Travelersâ club at the last minute, only to be unanimously told to come back in September. Damocles, at the urgency of Lila and Alya, tried to intervene and stop the trip the ground, it wouldnât be safe. Boy, was he surprised when the school board called him into a meet to speak about his future employment and the rampant bullying and oversight that had been going on in the school.
      Bustierâs class ended up going to Disney World Paris for the weekend, before the end of May. And posted tons of videos, most of which had comments about getting away from bullies and the drama of the class.
      The World Travelersâ Club left on schedule on June 1st. They would return for two months.
      The pictures they posted was the talk of the school. Which was saying something since the school wasnât even in session. The first pictures were of the grand hotels they stayed at, the amazing strange American food they ate. Carne Asada fries, yum!
      In Los Angelus, the club toured Warner Brothers studios and ran into the cast of the new Star Trek movies. They attended the world premiere of the Joss Weadon Superhero movie. They got all the classic tourist pictures of Los Angeles. Though Marinette and Chloe, when they had explored by themselves, ended up running into the Rock and had a picture of themselves hanging from his biceps as he posed.
      Their next stop was Star City. They toured the local museum, toured Queen Industries, met Oliver Queen himself. Then they even got to meet the Green Arrow.
      Alya nearly broke her phone when she saw Aurore and the superhero.
      After that, the Club went to Central city where they visited Star Labs.  It was Auroreâs idea. It was the most meta-filled city in the world; known for the most outrageous heroes and rogues in the world.
      It didnât take long for the club to run into the flash, in this case, he was fighting against Captain Cold, Heatwave, and the rest of the rogues.
      The fight wasnât favoring either side. But the class watched eagerly from where they stood on the sidewalk.
      They had to duck quickly when Captain cold was blasted into the wall next to them.
      Leonard Snart was surprised when a young girl helped him up. He looked and saw a bunch of kids standing there, torn between watching him and watching the fight.
âAre you okay, Mr. Cold?â She asked, with a heavy French accent, her blue eyes big with worry.
ââŚFine, kid,â He answered. âShouldnât you lot being running off.â
      The bluenette and the blond girl next to her shared a look.
âCan we get a picture?â The Bluenette asked.
      Leonard Snart paused, ââŚSure.â There was, in fact, a first time for everything.
      The kids cheered. And each one started scrambled with their phones to get their picture. It wasnât long before Heatwave showed up to see what was wrong, only to be pulled in by a push blond to take pictures as well.
      That was when the flash Showed up but Aurore quickly pulled him into an interview. Slowly but surely, the rogues and the team flash found themselves entertaining and signing autographs for a bunch of French kids; answering all their questions and telling stories.
      Later when Aurore and the rest posted their pictures, and the interview with the Flash and his rogues, Alya did break her phone. As far as she was concerned life was fair.
      In metropolis, They met Superman, Supergirl, Krypton (the former superboy), and the new Superboy. Superman had heard from the other league members of the French class touring different cities and how great they were.
      They toured the Daily Planet and Aurore got one on one time with Lois Lane. They got to see LexCorp and had a tour given by Lex Luthor himself. Lex had heard about the class from Queen and Wells, the CEOs of Star Labs and Queen industries, and decided one-up his competition in any way he could
      Then the kids' wen to Gotham. The pictures from that trip made half the kids in Bustiersâ class cry. The best pictures were of Marinette sitting in the Batmobile; Batman looking stern next to her. The ones of the club with Bruce Wayne and his kids were pretty epic too.
      Finally, their lasts destination was New York City. And the kids saw everything. They did the entire tourist thing; The statue of liberty, times Square, New York Times. Everything. However, the highlight was the tour of Stark Tower/Industries; led by Tony Stark, with Pepper to manage him.  Because Tony Stark didnât get one-upped by Lex Luthor or Bruce Wayne. Then the kids took a surprise trip to the Avengers compound.
      Marinette and Chloe decided walking into the training room only to see Captain America, Thor, and Bucky Barnes working out with their shirts off was the best part of the entire trip.
      Pictures and videos were taken of each member of the club holding various Avenger weapons. Chloe refused to admit her hand trembled when she was given over Captain Americaâs shield.
      The funniest video was supposed to be each member of the World Travelsâ club struggling to pick up Thorâs hammer. It was pretty funny. Until Marinette lift it like it weighed nothing. Mouths dropped. The Avengers were stunned. Who was this small bluenette worthy of Thorâs hammer?
Then Thor shouted that Marinette would come to Asgard with him.
      Then Tony had to tell Thor that he couldnât kidnap kids.
      To which Thor said, âWhat about Peter? Where did he come from?â
âIâm his mentor,â Tony groaned.
      Thor nodded, âThen I shall be the girlâs mentor. The Captain shall train young Chloe. Natasha will have Kagami as they are suited for each other; mostly because they strike fear in hearts everyone. Pepper will get Aurore; as they were meant to rule. Hawkeye will get Claude. The Soldier of Winter will get young Luka. You shall have Peter. The rest will be divided among the rest of the avengers. There. All done.â
      A moment of silence, and then Tony yelled, âThatâs not how this works.â
      It was all on video.
      It went viral in an hour.
      Marinette had to portal back to Paris to deal with several different Akumas several different times; most were just about jealousy.
      When the kids returned to Paris. They wasted no time relaying the stories of their adventures.
      When September came and school started. Marinette and Chloe once again walked into class together, with smiles on their faces, only to meet glum looks on the students' faces. They paid no mind as they headed back to their seats in the back.
      Before class could begin, Rose approached them, a hopeful smile on her face, âMarinette, Chloe; we were hoping youâd come with us on your next trip.â Her smile widened âAnd Marinette, maybe youâd like to be class president again.â
      None of the other students looked happy at the idea but all of them could admit that the World Travelersâ club had been amazing. And if they ever wanted another great trip, they had no choice but to deal with the Ice Queens.
      Marinette and Chloe shared a look and then shot the class cold smirks, âNo!â
âWeâll be far too busy,â Chloe smiled, coolness in her tone. âWe decided we can no longer want to go on any more class trips. With you.â
âThe World Travelersâ club takes a lot of work,â Marinette added.
âGood Luck though,â The two girls chimed together. âYou have plenty of time to fundraise though.â
âA little less than a year,â Chloe said. âOur club starts planning in about two weeks. Weâll start fundraising right after. Weâre thinking about Japan. Luckily this trip wonât be as expensive as our last.â
âGood luck with your trip though,â Marinette leaned back in her seat. âWho knows? If your lucky, itâll be as fun as your last one. We know you worked so hard. Earned over $5,000 right?â
âBeat that!â Chloe added.
Then both girls burst into laughter.
Marinette wiped her eyes, âBesides you donât want us there on your trip.â
âToo much Drama, right?â Chloe offered.
      The bell rang. And the classâ resident ice queens sat in back with smiles on their faces and ice in their eyes.

Message me if you want to be added/removed from taglist.
Gandalf shouldâve known this will be a bad idea.
You and the dwarves ended up in Rivendell , and after the dinner, Fili and Kili decided to find a book, that Gandalf had at the dinner.
When they sneaked in Elrondâs office, they found it on the table, right away. They quickly took it and when they were far enough, they opened it. Their eyes widened.
âItâs a spell book, Fee!â Kili said, excited. They started to look through it, giggling and excited.
Soon, they were discovered by Gandalf. He didnât looked too amused, and when the Durinâs brothers noticed him, they both paled and gulped.
âWhat are you two-oh, so this is what you were doing! Looking through a book with spells. Alright, if you want to act like children, then you will!â He rose his staff.
âOh, finally, thatâs where youâve been hiding-â You stepped in, behind Fili and Kili. It was all quick â they jumped down, you walked in, and let out a surprised yelp.
Gandalf looked down and his eyes widened.
âOh, Y/N-â A four-year-old child was looking up on him, confused, in too big and baggy clothes. You giggled and Fili and Kili looked up, their eyes wide.
âIt will take a few hours, before the spell should wear-off. I will try to find a spell, if it wouldnât worn off, as she is a human, not a dwarf, so meanwhile, you two will take care of Y/N,â The brothers looked at each other, Fili being the older brother, but Kili never had a younger sibling.
âUnderstood?â Gandalf looked down at them strictly, though there was a twinkle and worry in his eyes. The brothers stood up and nodded.
âYeah, of course, Y/N-oh no, sheâs away!â Fili looked behind him.
âKili, câmon,â He said and soon, they were trying to find you, surprised by the fact that you were quick even in that baggy clothes.
âLet me brush your hair, pleaseee-!â A loud cry and yell was heard from opposite side of the hall. Theyâve noticed Lindir walking, confused, and you, trying to catch him, while falling down on your knees all the time. You let out a cry and looked up at Lindir, with puppy eyes even better than Kiliâs (and that meant something), and he didnât knew what to do with that child that looked like you, but wasnât there a few minutes before.
âHey, Y/N!â Fili called. You looked at him and a smile appeared on your face. He knelt down and patted your head, trying to catch his breath.
âYouâre okay, thatâs great. Now, we will go find you something more fitting,â He said. Kili frowned.
âBut Fili, sheâs a-â
âOf course Kili, I know sheâs an adult, but now she actually is a four-years-old. So the lass is a bit shorted,â He explained to Kili, as if he couldnât see it.
âWhat are we gonna do?â Kili started pacing around (Lindir quickly walked away to find Lord Elrond and ask him about it). You giggled.
âAlright lass, letâs go,â Fili said and took you to his arms like a baby. You giggled. Kili furrowed his brows, but didnât said anything.
They couldnât find any room with a childâs clothes, or at least small enough for you. It was around twenty minutes, and they still couldnât find anything. You were getting impatient and moody. Until you found a fun activity to do, while you were bored.
âDonât do that, lass, that hurts!â Fili told you and tried to put your hands off of his moustache. Kili quietly giggled and winked at you, to continue. Fili snorted.
âOh yeah, support her.â He said sarcastically, while you were pulling his mustache, again. Kili shrugged his shoulders.
âJust sayinâ that if youâll ever be an uncle, you should maybe get used to it.â Fili rolled his eyes and yelped both in surprise and pain.
âOh lass, just stop! I know youâre bored, this annoying little shit over here was too, when he was a dwarfling, but-â You stopped pulling his moustache and mumbled something a few times. The brothers exchanged a look, when you suddenly yelled out:
âShit!â And pointed to Kili. Fili shook his head.
âNo, thatâs Kili. Kee. That is K-i-l-i.â You shook your head and pouted.
âNo.â Fili couldnât help, but laughed, and Kili snorted.
âIf youâll ever have a children, they will call you like this. Oh, brother. And look at her pout! Oh Mahal, I want to see you both together as a children,â He chuckled, dramatically pointing to you. You shook your head.
âMahal,â You mumbled and looked questioningly at Fili. Him and Kili stared at you for a second, and Fili started to laugh again.
âHey, Fili, thatâs not fair!â Kili frowned. You giggled.
âOh, the teasing is awesome, Y/N. Youâre as good as when you were an adult. I canât believe that you and Fili paired up against me, but Iâll tease you much more, just wait-â Fili grinned at his brotherâs dramatics.
âWhat if youâd carry Y/N now, Kee? What do you think of it, Y/N? Wanna go to Kili?â He asked you. You looked to Kiliâs brown eyes, blushed and hid your face in Filiâs sleeve. Fili smirked.
âShe likes you even as a child.â He handed you to Kili and he looked down at you, with your huge and innocent e/c  eyes, staring up at him. His lips stretched to smile and he was about to tear up.
Oh Mahal, sheâs so cute as a child...if we would have a daughter that would just like her...
His stupid smile was lasting a while, before Fili patted his shoulder.
âYou okay, Kee?â He looked up on him and Fili chuckled.
âLetâs hope the spell wears off, so you can give me nieces and nephews.â Kili frowned at him and then smiled at you, slowly falling asleep.
âLetâs hope it will be mini Y/N.â
But a while after, he almost regretted his statement about wanting to have a children. Almost.
âWhyâs she crying, Fee?â Kili hopelessly asked his brother.
âSheâs hungry,â He looked at your upset expression. You seemed to be totally done with them, so you were giving them a silent treatment.
âHow can you tell?â Fili shrugged his shoulders, looking into one another room.
âI have a younger brother, if you donât remember.â Kili opened his mouth to say something, but Fili was quicker.
âHere we go!â He waved a small tunic and trousers, that were done for an elfling, so they were still long for you, Â but not that much, at least. Kili looked around, then nudged you to wake up (you were constantly falling asleep and waking up). You opened your eyes and your annoyed expression was worth thousand words.
âCan you change to that clothes by yourself, Y/N?â He asked. You nodded and he placed you down, surprisingly carefully. You took the clothes Fili handed you, and after he told you to change and come out, he let you to close the door to have some privacy.
âI just hope she wonât be calling me shit even after the spell will wear off,â Kili mumbled. Fili laughed.
âShe did called you a little shit before too, donât you remember?â Kili blushed.
âOh, that was when she thought it was me who placed that spider to her bedroll,â Fili rolled his eyes.
âOh yeah, but it was fun to see you trying to convince her that it really wasnât your idea.â Kiliâs jaw fell down.
âWait, so it was you-?â A childâs voice was suddenly behind the door, and you quickly opened them, not slow enough for them to realize they need to step away. You runned through the hall and soon, you were away. Both Fili and Kili were hissing at the pain. The door mustâve been from much harder type of wood than any other.
âShit,â Fili commented.
âWe lost her.â Both of them paled. But, luckily for them, you runned to them from the back, finding this huge place as a playground. Sheâs like a four-year-old with an ADHD!, Kili thought and huffed.
âOH SHIT Y/N-â They yelled out when you jumped on Filiâs back and both of them fell down to the ground. You quickly got up, and Fili and Kili realized why.
âWhose child is this? She poured a tomato sauce on my head!â An elf yelled out, flustrated. The exact same elf was giggling next to him.
âMahal, shit, we better run,â You whispered. Fili quickly took you to his arms and both of them sprinted away.
They stopped in the garden. You jumped out of Filiâs arms and started haunting a butterfly. Fili and Kili were breathing deeply, their faces flushed. Kili pushed some wet strands of his hair away from his face, and looked after you.
âI understand now how it is like, to be babysitting a children or siblings,â Kili said and Fili just nodded.
âAye, the lass is quite wilde one.â You runned back towards them with a huge smile on your face and twinkle in your eyes.
âLetâs play tag!â You giggled, and before any of them could answer, you touched Kiliâs index finger.
âYouâre it!â And runned away, back to the castle. Both brothers looked at each other, exhausted.
âIf this is how your children will be like, then I donât know-â Kili patted his shoulder.
âWell, now-YOUâRE IT!â Kili yelled out and runned after you. Fili stood there, stunned, with opened mouth for a second, but quickly made his legs to move.
âHey, that was not fair!â Kili giggled and noticed h/c  hair, turning around the corner. He runned after you and noticed you were going to hide in a library. He chuckled. How typical for you.
Meanwhile, Fili had to stop. He furrowed his brows, trying to figure out where did you and Kili runned. It could be anywhere in this castle!
âFili,â Thorin noticed his nephew. Fili turned around.
âOh, uhm, Uncle.â Thorin frowned and folded his arms over his chest.
âGandalf told me what happened. Where is Kili and Y/N?â Fili didnât wanted to make Thorin angry even more than he knew he already was. He gulped.
âUhm, well, Y/N and Kili, they...well, itâs been Y/Nâs idea to play, uhm...to play tag and they runned...well...â Fili tried to figure out what to say to not actually say that he lost you and Kili in this huge palace.
Meantime, you and Kili were in the library, behind one sofa. He placed his index finger on his lips, to show you that you have to be quiet, and you did it too. He smiled and whispered,
âNow, Fili wonât find us that easily,â You scrunched your face. He quietly groaned and looked carefully up over the edge.
âWeâre good, Y/N.â When he scrunched back down, you had still furrowed brows.
âThat other one, that one with moustache,â He imitated pulling the moustache braids. You smiled and nodded.
âMahal!â Kili groaned.
âNo, heâs Fili. Fee. Say F-I-L-I, Y/N, Fi-li-â You shook your head and runned to find a new hiding place. Kili jumped up.
âOh no, Y/N, come back!â He runned after you.
You runned through the halls, but after a while, you bumped into someone. You looked up and met Gandalfâs eyes. His eyebrows furrowed when he noticed Kili, running after you.
âOh, here you are, miss Y/N.â You smiled and looked over your shoulder at Kili. He looked up on Gandalf and pointed to you.
âWe are really babysitting Y/N, but we decided to play tag, so, uhm,â He looked down at you.
âWhere you have Fili then, Kili?â Kili looked around, uncomfortable.
âI, uh, well, I thought he was right behind-â
âKILI!â Thorinâs voice was much stronger in those huge halls. Fili was right behind him.
âGandalf told me what you two did, and I thought you were mature enough to know. I didnât expected this reckless behaviour from you,â He said, looking at his nephews. Both Kili and Fili looked down on the floor, ashamed. You forrowed your brows.
âYou shouldâve know,â You mourmed. Thorinâs eyes widened.
âY/N? Why is she still a child?â He looked at Gandalf and you scrunched your face.
âIâm not a child! Iâm four years old and...Mahal, shit,â You whispered, wanting to have some support. Thorin looked at you, surprised. He could hear what did you just said.
âWhat did you learned her?â He looked at his nephews. Fili pointed to you.
âWe didnât learned her, she, uhm, overheard it and then, well...thatâs how she calls us,â He explained and Thorin rose his brow.
âAnd how did she overheard it?â Kili and Fili exchanged a look.
âWell, it was an accident,â Kili started. You yawned deeply and rubbed your eyes.
âIâm tired,â You said and tried to keep your eyes open.
âWell, the lass is tired, we will take her to her room, Uncle Thorin,â Both brothers said and Kili picked you up.
âWhereâs your room, lass?â Kili asked and you opened your eyes and pointed to a door.
âA few doors away from here,â You murmed and closed your eyes again. They stepped in and Kili placed you carefully to your bed.
âSweet dreams,â He whispered and he ruffled your hair. You scrunched your face.
âDonâ mess witâ ma hair,â You murmed. He chuckled and sat down next to your bed.
âSheâs so adorable when she sleeps,â Kili said and Fili rolled his eyes.
âOh, donât start, please.â They both chuckled. Their fun didnât lasted too long, before Thorin motioned for them to come out of your chamber. He wasnât done with them yet.
They stood up and stepped out. Thorin took them a bit away, so he wouldnât wake you up.
He was in the middle of giving a piece of his mind to Fili and Kili, when they heard a sound of tearing fabric and yelling. Both brothers runned into your room, prepared to protect you, but both of them were red when they realized you were covering yourself with your blanket.
âG-Gandalf, I think it worked!â Fili said and quickly walked out. Kili smirked and you huffed.
âIâve had a strange dream,â You said and lifted up a piece of fabric.
âBut it seems like it was not a dream,â You stared at him, angrily. He chuckled.
âYou were enjoying it, my dear.â You scoffed and then groaned.
âMy head is hurting and my stomach also isnât feeling the best,â You said.
âAlso, I called Fili Mahal and I called you a shit.â He rolled his eyes.
âAs if youâd never called me a shit before,â He commented. You scoffed again and folded your arms over the blanket on your chest.
âOh yes, actually you deserved it. I shouldâve called Fili a shit too,â You muttered. Kili came to you and kissed your cheek.
âIf we will ever have a children, it will be Filiâs nightmare,â He murmed. You giggled.
âNah, I bet he will be over the moon.â He pecked your lips and turned to find Gandalf and Fili, but he didnât had to.
âLooks like you needed to get some sleep, miss Y/N,â He said, not really looking at you, but on the floor. You nodded.
âOh yeah, I suppose.â He nodded and left, Fili and Thorin too, closing the door. Kili was about to go, too, but you catched his hand. He turned to you, surprised, finding you with a smirk on your face and mischievous twinkle in your eyes.
âWould you like to stay for a while, Kili?â His own lips stretched into a grin.
âOf course, love.â

Blue Changes
We had a fun little challenge, we picked a prompt and had 3, 15 minute sprints to write something for the prompt. Then 24 hours for light editing to finish sentences if needed, grammar etc. This is my take on the the prompt "Has anyone ever told you just how adorable you are Because you really are." Dedicated to @verfound đ§Ą
âMarinette, where is my favorite designer at?!â Jagged burst into the studio, Fang trotting happily next to him on her leash and Penny multitasking between her phone call and tablet. Technically he was supposed to be on a plane to New York, but decided to swing by Paris on his way because he had an idea that just could not wait and wanted to check on his unofficial niece anyways. There was only one speed bump in that plan, the studio was completely empty. The chaos of fabric strewn about and pieces half cut with scissors still mid snip definitely screamed someone was working hard or trying to at least, the mannequin with a half-pinned design and ripped fabric seemed to lean toward the latter.
âLooks like sheâs not here⌠Must be taking a break. Penny, why donât we order from my favorite bakery and make sure something extra special for Marinette. Iâm glad we came here before the next stop on tour.â Jagged poked around at the sketches laying in abandon on the desk, some half crumbled on the floor and more stacked on a sketchbook.
âSeems like she is having some massive creators block⌠We should treat her when we have a break on the tour.â Penny suggested, already on the phone with Tom and trying to insist they would pay for their order.
Some of the sketches were brilliant but had marks of black throughout them, others were completely marked out and you could not even tell what the design was to start with. It hurt to physically see what pain Marinette was going through, most of the ones with the darker markings were of the same style. He could clearly see the thought of Adrien in the suits and matching dresses for Marinette, the anger of the marks showing something had happened or changed. Sighing heavily, Jagged gathered the papers, Fang batting the ones further away with her tail over to her owner. One paper had him blinking in surprise.
âPenn! Pen! Lookie here! D'ya see this?!â jagged shouted, shoving the paper into his assistantâs face, not even minding when she sighed and pushed it to a proper distance. It was a one-of-kind leather jacket and a custom hoodie drawn to match it. Either could be worn seperate or paired together. The colors were a contrast of electric blue and smokey turquoise, the theme was music and snake. Jagged recognized it as a rough sketch due to the lack of color or material notes along the edge that appeared on her finished drafts.
âWhy was this crumpled up? Itâs a really great idea!â Penny wondered aloud, noticing that the eccentric rockstar she commonly felt like she had to babysit was scheming. âJagged no, whatever is it the answer is no.â
The door opened and in walked the designer they were looking for, Marinette seemed stressed and a bit run down. Her hair was thrown into a messy bun, one sleeve was pushed higher than the other and her shirt was wrinkled where it was tucked into her pencil skirt. Flip flops clacked along with her steps, another sign she was worn out if the basic shoe was more preferred to her custom made and very comfortable flats. An energy drink dangled from one hand and her design tablet occupied the other. Both guests watched as she made it all the way to her desk without noticing they were there.
âI have no idea what I'm going to do! I don't have anyone that fits that one or the orange one⌠I could make it a dress but who would wear it?! Ugh! Iâm going to fail at this rate and then I won't graduate and I'll never design again, who would want something made by a failure-â Fang chose that moment to nudge her head onto the petite womanâs lap, startling her so bad she screamed and fell out of her chair.
âWell I reckon that I would love to have exclusive rights to all designs made by my favorite niece but we all know thatâs not fair to the rest of the world. Now I know you are in a pinch and youâre stuck like a boat in the desert, so youâre going to take a break, spend some time with uncle Jay and make sure that you show poor Fang some love, she was all excited and you just screamed right in her poor face. Câmere my poor baby, Marinette is so mean I know.â Jagged showed the croc in love through pets and scratches.Â
âWhen.. How, why?â Poor Marinette was lost and couldn't believe the rockstar was in her studio when he should've been halfway around the world for the next stop on his tour.Â
âOkay, the only thing weâre doing right now is leaving all this behind for a much needed break for food and maybe a nap in your case. Time to relax and stop stressing for a minute." Penny authoritatively stepped in, stacking the papers on the desk, handing Marinette her purse and phone and with the help of Fang scooted the younger woman out the door.
Marinette protested "Wait I need to finish, it has to be done! I can't take a break, I just did!"
"Negative, now it's time for chow, and you need a shower, at your parents then we need to have a little chat. Ladies first!" Jagged gently shoved the designer into the car with cheer, allowing Fang and Penny to enter before him.Â
"So my little brilliant niece, we have some great news and a rock and roll deal for you! Can't tell you what is until after you've taken a break though." They grinned as Marinette grumbles as she gave fang the attention she wanted until they pulled up to the bakery.
Getting out of the car first, Marinette sighed at the smell of her parents baking, the smell melting off some stress like butter melting on a fresh from the oven croissant roll. Her stomach grumbled and she opened the door for the other guests, sneaking an excited Fang upstairs to not scare the other customers. Deciding to take a refreshing shower, Marinette went to her bathroom and put on some zen meditation music before getting in the shower. Quick ten minutes later and she was feeling much more alive and hungry. On a whim she grabbed a random outfit that she had made but never worn, pleated plaid skirt with a red checker pattern offset by the off the shoulder fitted top in a burgundy color, and threw it on before joining her guests.Â
"Oi looking good! One of yours?" Jagged shouted with his mouth full, causing Penny to smack his arm as a reminder to use manners.Â
"Sure is! Never worn it before but decided change can be a good thing and sometimes you have to start the change instead of waiting for it to happen." Grabbing her favorite pastry and a croissant because you can't just smell one and not eat it, she missed the concerned look her adopted guardians shared.
"So your studio was, well, you seem to be having a hard time." Pen tried to be gentle but made a face at her words.
"Yeah⌠Life is⌠Changing." Marinette mused, picking at the pastry.
"Marinette, what can Uncle Jay do to help?" Jagged's serious tone drew her gaze and his heart broke at the sight of unshed tears.
"I uhm well. I- That is, we-" With a huff, she calmed down and a look of determination shone on her face. "Adrien asked me out, on a date date in this really elaborate way. I turned him down. I have no idea what I was thinking but when he asked me I was so happy and then all I could think of was blue and how soft its is and it can be so calm or so chaotic and itâs always changing like the ocean but yet it's always the same and there this feeling of calm and I just couldn't say yes."
The quiet settled into a slightly awkward silence, Marinette was ignoring it and Penny was having nonverbal argument with Jagged on what to say next. With an eye roll that spoke louder than her shouting at him, the assistant took the lead once more. Quietly she rose from the chair she was occupying and sat next to the young designer smoothing out the crumpled sketch she had taken from the studio.
"Is this the blue you're talking about?"Â
"Yeah⌠Thatâs my blue." A gentle smile touched peach lips briefly, blue eyes going soft.
"Is this the skater kid?"
"Skater kid?" Marinette blinked in confusion.
"Nah Pen it's the boat kid."
"He has a name you guys!" Marinette broke down into giggles, looking much more like herself and less like a zombie just waltzing around and going through the motions. "His name is Luka, yes the one who went me skating with Adrien and Kagami, yes the boat kid who has a heart way too big for just his mom and sister. And now meâŚ"
"Sounds like you made a change?" Penny prompted smiling widely.
"A blue one yeah, I did."
"Has anyone ever told you just how adorable you are?" Jagged shouted, picking up the younger woman and swinging her around as she shrieked.Â
"Okay Jagged, let's not take over her whole day. We did have a reason to show up here after all." Penny handed the tablet to Marinette after he relinquished his hold. "This is what we're looking at for a surprise concert once we are back here in Paris. There's some issues I'm ironing out but I wanted to see what you think and if you would take lead on the design aspect."
"Wait, lead designer for your show?" Blue bell eyes swiveled between ocean blue and hazel sets, wide with disbelief and building excitement.
"Yup, this tablet is yours by the way. I do ask you to keep just business on it for the show, if you want more traditional sketches that's fine but once it's done it needs to be uploaded on here." Jagged explained, clapping a red clad shoulder.
"Oh you need an opening act? I've got that covered." The sparkle was finally back in her eye to match the mischievous grin.
"I agree with Jagged, are you sure no one has said it before because you really are adorable."

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Gang violence, violence against women and violence in general. Nothing super graphic and itâs honestly mostly just fade to black and implied, but just to be safe. References to arson and housefires in part one.
NOTES: Technically the first half should have been posted a week ago but I did not get that far lmao so now itâs just all in one. I didnât proof read so good luck ig.
TLDR; The man Georgia shot last week approached Ro for help in the hospital parking lot and she turned him down; a week later the Rogues beat her ass.
FEBRUARY 5, 2021 / MIDNIGHT
With fires breaking out all over town, the medical center had been all hands on deck. Rowan was sure she broke every traffic bylaw in the book on her way there, hastily dropping all four children off with her parentâs and barely managing to give them a rundown on what was happening. Her heart felt like it was in her throat when she left, unsure what kind of fresh hell she was going to be walking into when she got there and trying to plan for the absolute worst case scenarios. House fires are always tricky. She has a hard time putting herself in her patients shoes, finding herself walking a balanced line of emotional and professional while she keeps it together for all of their sake, even if she knows sheâll cry when she gets back in her car at the end of the night. Itâs getting exhausting --- every day seems like it just brings a new battle for them, and honesty she isnât sure how much longer the town is going to be able to stay standing.
Her shift at the hospital goes by exactly as she thinks it will. She holds herself together amongst all of the tragedy, delivering care to her patience with professionalism and empathy for their situations. Itâs difficult to leave them at the end of the night, knowing that theyâve just had their entire lives ripped out from under them. Harper doesnât have a home to go back to tomorrow when sheâs released, the last memory she had of her fiance having literally gone up in flames right in front of her. Her niece will be staying at the hospital for at least a week, if not longer. Her little body has taken far more damage than it should have, leaving her lungs compromised and her breathing in need of assistance. Rowan knows, sadly, that this is only the start of a long journey of recovery for the little girl not to mention her brothers and her mother, who are all sure to have some sort of PTSD from the ordeal. Part of her doesnât want to leave at all, knowing that her best friend and her sister could both use the support of her there but honestly, sheâs running on fumes and she just canât stay there any longer. So she makes her rounds and says her goodbyes, promising to be back in the morning and takes her leave.
When she finally makes it down to the parking lot, sheâs so tired she isnât paying attention to her surroundings. Itâs something that she can practically hear her husband scolding her about, but in the moment all she can think about is going home, taking a shower and sinking into bed for the next six hours. Sheâs pulled from those longing thoughts, however, at the feeling of a hand on her shoulder. She nearly drops her keys, letting out a yelp as she spins around to see who it is. She doesnât recognize either of them. A man and a woman in cuts she can only assume say Rogues on the back of them, the man clearly in need of medical attention as what looks to be a bullet wound on one of his arms seeps blood onto the concrete around them.
âHe needs help.â
Rowan barely hears the words over the sound of her heart beating in her chest and sheâs already mentally calculating how long it will take her to turn around and get into her car. Sheâs pretty sure she can outrun them, given the state the man is in but she has no idea if theyâre armed or not -- though she has a feeling itâs leaning more toward the former.
âHe needs to go inside. The doctor on call will take care of him.â
The response that comes is what she had been expecting, but she backs up enough that her back is against the SUV when the woman begins speaking again. âWeâre not here to have a paper trail followinâ us. We know you work for the club off the books. Youâre gonna do the same for us.â
Before Rowan has a chance to properly respond, the man makes a noise of pain. His partner is distracted, giving Rowan a window of opportunity to make her move and within a split second, sheâs slamming the door behind her as she gets into her car. A second later, the door handle is being violently yanked on, and she glances out the window to see the man slumped against a car a few rows away and the woman banging on the glass.
âIf you leave now youâre gonna regret it.â
But it falls on deaf ears, shaking hands moving to put the car into drive, tires screeching as she flies out of the parking lot and watches her figure get smaller in the rearview. For a moment, she wonders if the whole thing had been some kind of exhaustion induced hallucination, sure that something like that couldnât have actually just happened. But the blood streaked handprint on her window is a difficult reminder that, unfortunately, it had been very, very real. A string of curses leave her lips before taking a deep breath, fighting off the urge to vomit and while she wants to head straight home, Rowan knows better. While she had only seen two people, who really knows just how many members of the Rogues had been there and she picks up her phone to call Ryder while taking random turns on the off chance that someone is tailing her. Â Ten minutes later she finally gets home, Ryder having met her in the driveway and his presence is more than enough to keep her from completely losing her shit.
FEBRUARY 14, 2021 / 7 PM.
Rowan is late --- something she doesnât do very well with. A follow up appointment with a patient from a few weeks ago having gone over time and left her scrambling to change out of her scrubs and into her dress in her office bathroom. When she finally comes out, still struggling to get her shoes on, she can tell the prospect who has been stuck with babysitting duty is anxious. Itâs clear in the way he checks his watch for the third time since he sat down in the patientâs vacated seat, and the way he canât stop bouncing his leg.
âYou got a hot date waitinâ on you, Todd?â She teases him gently, and his cheeks flush with embarrassment.
His voice is higher than usual when he answers back, sheepish and uncharacteristically shy at being called out. âMy girlfriend. She made dinner tonight, and sheâs not a real patient lady.â
âSounds familiar,â she snorts in response, finishing the buckle on her shoe and slipping her jacket up and over her shoulders. Todd is still just a prospect and obviously has a ways to go before he actually finds himself patched in and able to give his girlfriend the Old Lady title but if sheâs as impatient and stubborn as he has lead her to believe over the weeks, Rowan has a feeling sheâll be able to hold her own more than well enough. Â âIâll make you a deal, once we get down to the parking lot we can part ways. Iâm just goinâ over to the restaurant anyways, thereâs no need to follow me.â Itâs clear that heâs about to protest, surely going over the laundry list of threats her husband has made over the last month and Rowan is quick to interrupt. âItâll be our secret. If you make it home on time maybe you can still get lucky tonight.â
And that has him embarrassed enough that the poor kid doesnât bother arguing anymore. Instead, they take the elevator down to the main floor where Rowan signs out and they take their leave. His motorcycle is parked next to her car, and they exchange goodbyes and Rowan gets in one more teasing jab about him having a goodnight before the two of them take separate exits. The drive to the restaurant is less than twenty minutes, and Rowan figures if she speeds, she can make it in twelve. But judging by the flashing lights behind her, she has a feeling that hadnât been her greatest idea. She curses under her breath, pulling over to the side of the road as what she assumes is a police cruiser pulls up behind her. She fumbles to get her license and registration out after rolling the window down and sheâs already spewing an excuse when someone approaches the door.
âI know I was speedinâ. Sorry, office I---â
But it dies on her lips when the person leans forward and she sees the same woman from a week earlier. âHey sweetheart. Remember me?â
The words have her blood running cold, but before she can think of an escape plan the familiar feeling of fingers tangling in her hair pulls her back to the moment, her face coming down with a harsh blow to meet the steering wheel. âYou shouldâve just helped us when you had the chance.â Rowanâs already disoriented, though she begins to fully panic when her door is flung open and she is pulled from the vehicle. After that, everything seems to be muted and dark, sheâs barely aware of what is going on around her and she passes out after only a few moments. Two hours later, she wakes up back at the hospital --- this time finding herself in a paper gown and a hospital bed, a heart monitor beeping steadily beside her.

My Favourite (Gigi x Nicky) - Mina
A/N: Im sorry itâs been so many queues! The next fic I write is gonna be reallly long and good and yes so I did this in the meantime. Definitely not my best work but I hope you enjoy it anyway :>
Gigi and Nicky have silently competed over the title of Arceliaâs favourite aunt for months now, until they coincidentally have to babysit her at the same time.
Gigi Goode was a reasonable woman. She was reasonable enough through her childhood that her parents declared that she was a gifted child, even though all she did was study and be a good kid in general. She was reasonable enough in high school that she managed to enter the most prestigious University in the country, and secured the valedictorian title since she went into her first class. And of course, Gigi was nothing sort of an unreasonable woman so she made connections everywhere - work, organizations, charity, so on. What mattered was that she made connections to smooth her life. A reasonable woman needed a best friend, someone to call when she felt down or felt giddy, and for her, the best friend came in the form of Jackie Cox. Tall, had an IQ of 148, liked to read psychological books for fun, and most importantly, she had dimples. The Persian was perfect as a best friend, Gigi adored that woman, aspired to be like her, even. She was successful, beautiful, and had a good sense of humor even though people around them didnât find it funny.Â
The brunette had found a reasonable job with a more than reasonable pay, finally could afford the apartment she had aspired to live in since she was a mere high school freshman, and because she was a very reasonable woman, Gigi had planned to hit the club and maybe make out with a guy or girl â she wasnât picky â because tonight was Friday night and she had made it through a very tough day at work. Some asshole didnât turn in their report on time and left Gigi reeling because everything had to be delayed. That was fine. It had passed and everything was fine so she was allowed to treat herself to a nice make-out session.
At least until Jackie had called her and asked for her help. âWe really canât miss tonightâs banquet,â she said hurriedly, and Gigi had heard a child crying faintly in the background. âWe canât bring Arcelia because the invitation says no children allowed â â
âAnd why is that, by the way?â The brunette asked, putting down the tight red dress she was going to wear realising that she wouldnât be having a make-out session tonight. âIsnât it your own company?â
Jackie sighed into the phone, Gigi could practically hear the frown on her face. âI know. Itâs â itâs ridiculous but Janâs brother was supposed to go with her but heâs suddenly down with the flu and She refused to go alone. You know how it is.â she sounded so agitated that the brunette couldnât help but felt pity for her.
âIs Arcie crying?âÂ
âYeah,â The Persian woman sounded so tired, and Gigi thanked God profusely that she didnât have a child yet. âShe kind of senses that weâre going to go somewhere? Sheâs definitely handful.â
The brunette hummed, finally settled on a pretty black sweater after rummaging her closet. âYou love her anyway.â She chuckled, fumbling through her purse to find her set of keys.
âOf course. I wouldnât trade her even for the quietest kid. She â â Jackie hesitated, âShe said she wants a sibling, you know?â
âA sibling?â She had to swallow down her laugh, Jackie could hardly keep track of her wife, let alone two children.Â
âYep,â the older woman simpered, âwe arenât ready, not so soon after adopting. Weâre still adjusting to the life of parenthood, you know.â
âI know.â
Gigi was in the elevator when Jackie asked timidly, âYouâre coming, right?â She could hear the worry in her voice, the sound of Arcelia squealing echoing through the microphone.
âYeah, of course,â she replied, âBe there in 10.â
âThanks, Gigi.â
She was behind the wheel less than five minutes later. She truly didnât mind that he had to babysit Arcie on a Friday night when she was supposed to be hitting on people at the club, Gigi adored that kid. It was starting to get repetitive, anyway, ordering a drink, chatting up the bartender, buying a drink for the most attractive person in the room, dancing, kissing, groping, and then the sweaty and sticky situation she would end up into by the end of the night. Perhaps it wouldnât be repetitive if she had someone to take care of, someone who cared about her just as much as Gigi cared about them. But so far, she hadnât found one. The people she went to dates with rarely got a ticket into the second date, because she would find them too boring, too daring, too pessimistic, too enthusiastic, and she was a reasonable woman who needed a reasonable partner, so she shrugged them off her shoulders and went home without looking back. Maybe baby sitting her friends kids gave her a sense of commitment, or maybe she just liked watching Arcelia smile.
She was reasonable. Very reasonable, in fact, that she grinned when Jackie opened her door with a distressed demeanor 10 minutes later. âHey Jack. Whereâs the baby?â
âInside..â  She answered, chewing on her. Gigi arched her eyebrow. âHey, Iâm going to apologize to you. Youâll forgive me, right?â
The younger woman tilted her head. âAre you not going to the banquet?â
If it was true, it was truly not a big deal for Gigi. Sure, she hadnât gone to the club because of this but after thinking about it, she would rather soak in the bath up rather than going to a sweaty and sticky place. She had bought a book last week, too, so maybe he could catch up on her reading. Probably not.
Jackie sighed. âWeâre still going. But,â
âSpill it. Itâs okay.â
The other grimaced, and Gigi started to feel something stirring in her stomach. Definitely not something good. âJan didnât know I already called you to babysit,â she started, âso she texted Nicky to come over and sheâs already inside with Arcie.â
Oh. Oh.
Gigi didnât know what to do with the information.
Nicolette Doll, Janâs best friend and by extension Jackieâs friend, a tall, thin French woman with golden blonde hair and a stupid accent. Gigi didnât like her, and Nicky certainly didnât like Gigi much either. Theyâd met many times, mightâve even been friends a couple years ago perhaps, and she couldnât pinpoint when exactly they began to despise each other but the animosity was certainly there. Nicky was a bitch, controlling, ambitious and strikingly similar to herself, which the brunette hated her for. The only time they willingly interacted was when Arcie was involved, silently competing over the esteemed title of âArceliaâs favourite auntâ.
Gigi was the favorite aunt because she bought her favourite chocolate milk last week, obviously. Nicky tried her best, she supposed, she wore daisy perfume and did funny voices for the characters in picture books, made macarons for fun, but of course the brunette was much more likeable or else she wouldnât have been in the running for so long, and what Gigi wouldnât give to knock her gigantic ego down a few pegs.
She snorted. She wasnât going to let Nicky snatch up her hard-earned position. Gigi was Arceliaâs favorite aunt and God help her if she ever lost to Nicky fucking Doll. âCool.â She replied, leaning casually against the doorframe. âIâm still going to babysit her.â
Jackie frowned, eyes clearly expressing her hesitation towards the idea. Gigi couldnât blame her, really, because the last time they babysat together Arcie had cried so much that Jan had refused to talk to either of them for a week. But that was then, this was now and the brunette was sure that they could handle each other just fine.
âDonât stress too much about it, Jack,â she grinned reassuringly. âWhereâs my favourite niece?â
âSheâs your only niece.â The Persian woman replied dryly, opening the door behind her and allowing Gigi to step through.Â
Their apartment was warm, a more modern place combined with little family touches that made it feel homey and safe. Normally Gigi wouldâve thrown herself over the couch, maybe opened the fridge to check that the couple was still capable of buying food, but when she glanced at the love seat where Nicky sat covering her eyes delicately with her fingers and counting down from ten in that stupid French accent, Gigi didnât even attempt to conceal her scowl.
âHey Gigi, itâs been so long!â Jan beamed from the kitchen, a tiny dark haired child hugging her leg as she struggled to tie up her dress one handed âSomeoneâs been very excited to see you.â
âHi honey,â Gigi beamed, grabbing Arceliaâs attention as she came running over to her instantly with a squeal. âand hereâs my favorite niece in the world! How are you doing, sweetie? I havenât seen you in a week and look at how much youâve grown.â
The child giggled, gently tugging on the brunetteâs hand. âAunty Gigi, play with me! Dollyâs counting to ten while we hide my new teddy!âÂ
Arcelia pointed to a tuft of brown fur sticking out from between some cushions, the tag of what Gigi knew to be a very expensive toy shop poking out as well. Shit, Nicky was pulling out the big guns. Fine, two could play it that game.
âSheâs going to grow up spoiled,â Jan complained at the gesture, even though her wife was practically dragging her out the door. âYou always buy her things. Why donât you just have your own children?â
âItâs no fun,â Nicky spoke for the first time, eyes still covered by well manicured fingers. âMy own kid requires me actually taking care of them. With Arcie, you two do the taking care and I can do the spoiling.â
The blonde huffed. âWhatever,â then, she kneeled down to speak to her daughter who was still hugging Gigi. âHey baby, Mommy and Mom are going out now, okay? Be good with your aunts.â
Arcelia grinned, sticking out her tongue playfully.Â
Jackie bent down to plant a kiss on her forehead. âBedtimeâs at 9, kiddo. âAhbak. Donât throw a tantrum when your aunties tell you to go to sleep.â
âI wonâtâ The child nodded determinedly, hands on her hips. Gigi laughed painfully, she knew from years of babysitting experience that was most definitely a lie.
âBe careful, okay?â Jackie looked back towards the two woman, lip again pulled nervously between her teeth. âCall me if anything goes wrong. And remember that sheâs not allowed chocolate after seven. Iâll be re-â
âWeâll be fine Jackie, go to the fancy banquet or whatever.â Gigi rolled her eyes, shooing her out of the door and pulling Arcelia close to her side. âItâs not like we would ever fight in front of herâ she scoffed, shooting Nicky a piercing glance.
âMerdĂŠ, of course not. You Americans worry so much.â The French woman remarked. She peaked through the gaps between her fingers with narrowed eyes âArcie, I hope you hid Jeromeo well because Iâm getting hungry!â She growled, stomping her feet against the hardwood. Of course Nicky had somehow made the kid name her bear fucking Jeromeo.
Arcelia shrilled, sprinting to go hide behind the kitchen countertop. âYouâll never find him!â she yelled triumphantly, dark brown hair peaking just slightly overtop the marble. âNot over my dead body!â
âWeâll see about that, petite fille. If I donât find him, Iâll have to eat you instead!â Nicky grinned, jumping up off of the couch and almost comically pausing when she saw Gigi standing awkwardly to the side, fiddling with the hem of her sweater. âOh yeah, hi Gigi.â The French woman smirked, eyes bright and taunting while tiny strands of hair fell out of her loose ponytail to frame her face.
Right now, it was white blond, cut short to brisk the tops of her shoulders. Gigi could picture herself running her fingers among the strands, hands grazing her scalp and tugging softly. She scoffed to herself, no way in hell was she going to be running her fingers through Nickyâs hair anytime soon. Why would she even want to.
The other looked up, grin tensing into an offended frown. âAre you making fun of me?â She raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms.
Gigi faulted, flinching at the angry tone. âWh â how? I didnât even insult you.â
The blonde didnât stutter, tilting her head. âYou scoffed. You think I didnât hear you?â
Gigi scoffed again, just to prove that she could. She looked over at Arcelia, who had forgotten about whatever chasing game her and Nicky were going to play in favour whispering something to Jeromeo, petting his soft head carefully.
She studied the stuffed animals detailed embroidery, tan fur resembling the French womanâs own hair. âYou bought her that?â Gigi asked nonchalantly, mind running through ideas of how she could top it. A toy boat, maybe? Some nice clothes?Â
âYeah,â Nicky answered, looking caught off guard. âShe actually declared me as the aunt of the week moments before you arrived.â
Gigi scowled, watching as Arcie swung the teddy around fondly in her arms. âOh please. Iâll have the title by next week tops.â
âYou really think I would let you do that?âThe shorter woman asked sagely, raising a challenging brow. âI am her favorite aunt ever, so no matter wh-â
âI am her favorite aunt ever times a thousand, you fuck â â
âFuck!â Arcelia giggled against her wrist, looking up at the two older women with a grin. Gigi gaped, staring down at her with horror and frantically waving her hands in front of the Persian child to will her to stop. Arcie only said it louder, smiling innocently while chanting the curse word around the living room like a nursery rhyme.
Nicky cackled, clapping her hands at Gigiâs misfortune. âHave fun explaining that, Miss Goode.â
She was fucked.
***
âDo you want coffee?â Nicky asked, pursing her lips and gesturing to the kettle sitting on top of the marble counter. Gigi looked up from the couch, smoothing down the layers of blankets and pillows while Arcelia fiddled happily on the living room rug.
The brunette glanced up, blinking, âCan you make me a hot chocolate?â
The older woman snorted. âI was generous enough by offering you a cup of coffee.â Still, she reached for the mason jar full of cocoa powder and carefully sifted it into a mug.
Gigi shrugged, pulling her gaze away from Nickyâs hands (dainty, elegant hands) back to the television. âItâs for Arcie, though.â
The Blonde tilted her head, narrowing her eyes, âYou donât want some?â
âNo,â The shorter woman scrunched up her nose, âI need something stronger than hot chocolate.â
âWhat, like a drink?â
She hummed. âYeah, canât drink it with the little one present, though.â Arcelia looked up with a bright smile, cheeks puffing out like a squirrel. Gigi pulled her close, ruffling her dark hair.Â
Nicky sat down on the sofa after, setting the mug down carefully on the table and taking a sip of her own coffee. âWhat movie is this?â She asked as the intro music played, running her eyes critically at the screen.
âFrozen. You know, Elsa, Anna, all the magic shit.â
âShit!â Arcelia giggled quietly, to enamoured with the movie to really pay attention. Gigi groaned, bringing a hand to her head in frustration.
The blonde laughed, throwing her head back, âJanâs gonna be fuming if she finds out all the words youâve taught her.â
âYeah,â she replied with a sigh, picking at the edge of the couch cushions, âAt least Iâm your favourite Aunt, right Arcie?â
Nicky clicked her tongue, âNo way. Iâm her favorite aunt, I won this week fair and square.â
âFine,â The brunette sighed in defeat, rolling her eyes, âBut weâll see about next week. She obviously is gonna pick me.â
Nicky smirked, âYou think so? Iâd like to see you try.â
The blonde focused her attention back to the movie, not giving Gigi a second glance. The younger woman tried to do the same, but every few minutes she couldnât help but gaze conspicuously in Nickyâs direction, eyes roaming the others features appreciatively. Gigi told herself it was because the French woman happened to have white blond hair, a very distracting color in the dimly lit room. Yes. Gigi was sure. Nicky Dollâs only attractive body part was her white blond hair. Soft, golden, white blonde hair.
Why was she thinking about Nicky Dolls attractive body anyway? Gigi shook her head, she was just tired because she had had a long day and needed something to relax and Nicky was right there, eyes narrowing in disdain because some character in Frozen did something stupid, lips pursed and bitten a diluted red.
âWhy,â The blonde started exasperatedly, startling Gigi out of her thoughts, âdoes Elsa have to isolate herself in a fucking room?â
âLanguage,â The shorter woman chastised, glancing down at Arcelia who was slumped over her lap, eyes sleepy and unseeing. âShe didnât want to hurt her sister.â
âOh s'il te plait, she already has gloves,â Nicky pointed out with a frown, leaning back against the sofa.
âItâs still dangerous.â
The blonde puckered her lips again, ready to complain but clearly thought better, instead running a hand through the childâs hair gently and leaning down to face her, âHey, sweetheart, do you want a hot chocolate?â
Arcelia shook her head tiredly, eyes unmoving from the screen, so Gigi sighed and tried to enjoy the movie for her sake, even though she had seen in hundred of times before.
At least until Nicky complained again.
âAnna is the stupidest character Iâve seen, and Iâve seen plenty of stupid characters.â
âSheâs not stupid!â
The blonde snorted into her coffee. âFalling in love with a man she met on the same day? Stupid, if you ask me.â
Gigi shrugged. âWe donât know about that, really. Donât you believe love at first sight?â
âI donât,â Nicky answered curtly. âLove at first sight means you only look at the personâs appearance, right? It means you fall for a person because of their looks, and not their personality.â
âSo are you saying,â The brunette laughed a little, âthat youâre willing to date anybody as long as they have a great personality?â
Nicky groaned, looking back at the movie. âIâm still shallow enough to prefer good looking woman, Gigi. And I donât just fuck anybody. Iâm not like you.â
She laughed again, leaning her head back against the sofa. âI actually wanted to get laid tonight.â Gigi reminisced, remembering the leather jacket she had left at home. She wouldâve looked ravishing in that.
âI donât need to know that, you dummy.â
Gigi didnât answer, instead looking down to check on Arcelia, who was already sleeping. It was rather an odd position to fall asleep in, head resting on Gigiâs thigh while her legs tangled in between Nickyâs.
âSheâs sleeping,â murmured the French woman quietly.Â
âNo shit.â
âShould we take her to her bed?â
âYeah,â she replied, âSheâll get cranky if sheâs in that position too long.â
Nicky scooped the child up into her arms easily, hand brushing slightly against Gigiâs side. The blonde nodded, signalling to the younger to wait while she put the kid to bed. Gigi didnât have to be told twice, her mind was reeling. She didnât understand how she was feeling, heart racing although she couldnât pin point why. Maybe it had all started when Nicky had touched her thigh, but sheâd never felt so romanised by itâŚever. Repulsed, sure. But this was an entirely new reaction and it bothered her, so so much.
Nicky wasnât ugly. She was really attractive and even if the brunette didnât like her, she had to acknowledge that. Nicky was so attractive, she looked like a model straight out of a fashion magazine that Gigi mightâve fawned over when she was younger and fuck did that make her head spin. Her lips were pretty as well. They looked soft. Gigi wondered if they felt as soft as they looked.
She was fucked. Especially when she realized just how much she wanted to kiss the older woman and melt into her embrace. She was extremely fucked, especially when said woman was in the other room and was coming back to sit next to her to continue watching the movie. With nothing separating them now.
âSo,â Nicky announced once the child was taken care of, sitting elegantly back down on the lounge, âYou believe in love at first sight, then?â
âNot really. But countless people fell in love at the first sight, so who am I to squash the theory?â Gigi shrugged, eyes burning holes into the television scream to avoid Nickyâs piercing gaze.
The blonde clicked her tongue. âThereâs no theory,â she mused, âitâs just statements after statements and people can lie, you know.â
Gigi hummed, âBut will we ever know?â
âNo.â She shrugged. âI didnât believe in love until recently, actually.â
Her heart stung at the hint behind those words, shoulders slumping in disappointKent although she didnât really know why, âDid you finally find a girlfriend? Gee, took you a while.â
Nicky chuckled, picking at her cuticles with a sigh. âNo, still single as ever.â
âOh,â Gigi immediately relaxed, âWell, that makes two of us I guess.â
She knew she had stepped into personal territory, but Nicky didnât seem to mind. âI want to find someone but Iâve been so busy with work, you know? And dating apps donât really work for anyone, so..â
âWhy are you telling me this? Ew.â Gigi stuck out her tongue, scrunching her nose up in disgust.
âWhy?â The French woman raised an eyebrow, âYou jealous?â
The brunette scoffed, but it didnât sound as convincing as it shouldâve. âNo. Why would I be?â
âI donât know,â the other replied, âmaybe because you have a crush on me?â
Oh god.Â
Shit shit shit. âI donât.â
âGigi,â
The brunette didnât move.
âCherĂŹ,â
Gigi hesitantly looked up, the French nickname sounding warm in her ears. It felt weird, and yet familiar at the same time. Her breathing hitched when Nicky held her shoulders, expression unreadable and satire.
âYou do, donât you?â
Gigi still didnât move, still staring at the taller woman in disbelief. She herself had only come to realize that fact just now, but how could Nicky â
Oh. It made sense now. âWhat am I thinking right now?â She asked breathily, eyes wide in terror.
Nicky looked dumbfounded, emotionless facade faultering. âWhat?â
âAnswer me. What am I thinking right now?â There was no better explanation as to why Nicky was able to guess his feelings right away, plus that stupid French accent certainly added to the witchy aesthetic. Nicky was a fucking mind reader. Gigi was sure of it.
âHow am I supposed to know?â
âI donât know, by reading my mind?â She reiterated, waving her hands to encourage her to continue.
âWhy the fuck would I be able to read minds?â
âYou tell me!â
âNo,â Nicky snapped, âI donât read minds. Youâre just an open book.â
âBut,â Gigi narrowed her eyes, âYou were able to deduce this five minutes after I realised it?â
The French womanâs jaw dropped wide open, eyes once again widening. âYou mean to tell me you realized that you like me five minutes ago?â
âYeah.â
âAnd before that?â
âI hated your guts.â
âI hated your guts too, by the way.â
Gigi smirked, lifting her chin, âPast tenseâ
The blonde rolled her eyes, âCan I kiss you?â She sounded depraved, fingers twitching on top of Gigiâs shoulders.
âWhat?! Why?!â The brunette jolted, recoiling backward.
The other woman sighed deeply, looking like she was contemplating her choice. Maybe she wouldâve taken back the words but it was rather late for that. âThat means I like you, you dumbass. And I know you like me back, youâve been hinting at it for months and I was waiting for you to finally crack.
Gigi stared at Nicky in disbelief, eyebrows raised. âI didnât give you any hints. What are you talking about?â
âYou asked me to put sun screen on your back even though it was the middle of winter?â
âThatâs a completely valid ask, you perv!â
âOkay, what about all the times youâve laughed at my jokes.â
âMaybe I hated you but if youâre funny Iâm still going to laugh.â
âWhen you winked at me during brunchâ
âCrystal punched me seconds before that.â
âWhen you go to the vegetable section with me at the grocery store.â
âBecause Arcie likes vegetables?â
Nicky groaned, face red in embarrassment. âIâm so humiliated right now, damn it.â
The brunette laughed, hesitantly wrapping her arms around Nickyâs waist. âNo, donât be. I still like you back, remember?â
The taller woman looked up and stared at Gigi with an open mouth, as though waiting for her to take it back. âWait, you meant it?â
âOf course,â Gigi snorted. âEnemies to lovers, or whatever.â
They were silent for a moment, just basking in each otherâs presence. Gigiâs eyes traced every line of Nickyâs face, wondering what would it feel like if she touched it.
âCan I kiss you?â The blonde asked quietly, rolling her eyes while Gigi giggled at the words.
It was a very sweet kiss.
And because Gigi was a very reasonable woman, she kissed Nicky back

A/N: So this is officially my longest work on this blog...over 2K words. Iâm happy with how it turned out. Also a lot of asks Iâve completed or am in the process of writing, I just canât post until a few more days :â( Iâll post them all together very soon.
~~~
âAh, weâre here. Thank you, sir!â After greeting her driver, Izuki Mina gracefully stepped out of her car. Her silky dark hair was tied up into a tight chignon and her kimono was an elegant shade of orchid. Her heels clacked loudly upon the pavement and she extended a hand towards one of her companions. âCome on.â
6-year old Nako grumbled under her breath, taking it anyways. She looked absolutely precious in her pink dress and space buns, which Mina had accomplished after two hours of fighting her. âCanât we just turn around now?â She whined. âI wanna go home. This is gonna be so boring.â
Before Mina could respond, Rise replied, âNow, sweetie, thatâs not the right attitude to have. Be respectful, we were invited to this wedding.â The older woman, Nakoâs mother and Minaâs elder sister, gracefully followed them.Â
Mina still had a hard time accepting whose wedding this was. She honestly believed hell would freeze over before Karasuma Tadaomi married someone.
But nope, it was real and happening that very moment. His soon-to-be-wife was also unbelievable. She was a foreign beauty, apparently his co-worker too? Mina knew very little details⌠it had been a couple years since sheâd spoken to Tadaomi. Their families were friends and they saw each other often, eventually becoming good friends as well. Then Tadaomi left for military training...and simply disappeared. Next thing she knows, he was a part of the whole moon exploding business, became a teacher, and was now getting married? Mina couldnât wrap her head around it all.
The wedding was a very traditional one...unsurprising considering the Karasuma family. The venue was a beautiful Japanese garden, greenery everywhere and the soft pink of the Sakura trees. A faint babbling was heard as water ran in the stream, and a bridge stood over it. Guests were everywhere, chatting casually as more people trickled in along with them. Mina looked a bit further and saw tables filled with appetizers and small snacks to serve as refreshments. She quietly whistled to herself. Damn, this is amazing. It probably was crazy expensive too.
There was a large group of teenagers hanging out in one area of the event, a mixed group of boys and girls. Mina instantly placed them as Karasumaâs former students, from that year he apparently spent as a teacher.
Out of the corner of her eye, Mina spotted Tadaomi, standing with his family. She walked a bit faster, ignoring Nakoâs âWhere are you going?âÂ
âTadaomi!â She called with a smile.
He looked up instantly, surprise splashing across his face. âAh, Mina,â he greeted with a small smile. âItâs good to see you.â
His dark hair had been styled and gelled back, leaving his handsome facials open. He was dressed in very nice, classy traditional attire. Mina tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, suddenly feeling self-conscious for some reason. âYou too! Itâs been a long time.â
He tilted his head slightly, as if considering that sentence. âYes, it has. How are you?â
Mina gave a light laugh. âHow am I? How are you, Tadaomi? Youâre about to get married! Holy shit!â
Tadaomi smiled amusedly. âIâm fine...just a bit eager to get through all this.â He glanced at everything, from the bridge overlooking the water to the bouquets that were everywhere. âItâs...so much.â
Mina sighed. He would always be the same: just his simple, straightforward self. âItâs your wedding, silly. Itâs the one day of your life you can splurge and do everything, then go back to normal.â
She looked past him, searching. âBy the way, where is the wifey?â
âAh, sheâs talking with our former students.â
Mina raised an eyebrow. Our? So they met on the teaching job...huh. She looked back at the cluster of teens, and lo and behold, the foreign beauty was there. She was gorgeous, with long light curly hair styled to perfection. Her eyes were a vivid blue and her makeup was perfectly applied. Mina couldnât tell because of the elaborate bridal attire, but she was guessing the woman had a model-esque figure...she looked quite tall too.
How on earth had Tadaomi met this amazing woman?
âKarasuma!â A voice called, and Mina swiveled around to see two men in dark suits waving him over. Their greeting was casual but they had an air of professionalism surrounding them. Mina assumed they were his government co-workers or something.
Tadaomi saw them too and faintly grimaced. âAh, Iâm sorry, weâll have to finish catching up sometime later today,â he apologized.
Mina shook her head, smiling. âNo, itâs okay! Iâll be around...so whenever you wanna talk, itâs fine.â
He nodded and left to talk to his colleagues. Mina stood there for a moment before feeling a tug at her arm. âWhat-â Oh, it was just a very ire Nako, scowling.Â
âCan we get food please?â She demanded. âMom told me to ask you to go with me.â
âWhereâs your mom?â
âOver there.â Nako gestured to her right, where Rize was talking to Tadaomiâs mother. Great. Mina would be stuck babysitting her very grumpy little niece.
âOkay, letâs go,â she sighed.
They made their way past the many guests and towards the tables lined with delicious-looking food. There were so many platters of colorful sushi...Mina had heard a guest mention in passing that it was because it was the brideâs (what was her name again...Ivanka?) favorite food. Mina glanced around, looking at all her options. Her stomach began to grumble in hunger.
Then she saw it. What in the world -
In the midst of all these elegant tables filled with dishes of tasty, delectable, presentable classy food...was a takoyaki street cart. It looked so incredibly out of place, Mina actually blinked. Once. Still there. Twice. Ok, nevermind, it was real.
âOooh! I want takoyaki!â Nako exclaimed, already pulling Mina towards it.
âHey, wait!â
They were at the end of a line now, in front of the cart. Mina could hear the guests in front of them murmuring about the oddity as well. âWasnât expecting this at all, but hey, I love takoyaki,â a young man said to the girl next to him.
âYeah, same,â she replied in agreement.
Mina sighed, feeling her stomach grumble even more. All she wanted was to dig into the platters of sashimi on the fancy table, not wait in line for takoyaki of all things. She glanced down. At least Nako would stop complaining for a while.
âOh, man, I canât believe Okano started crying at that, of all things,â Mina heard from beside them, and a few of the teenagers from earlier were walking by them. There was a tall boy with dark hair, a shorter boy with orange hair that reminded her of mushrooms, a girl with straight purple hair, and the last girl was the shortest with dark curly hair. They were all dressed in appropriate formal attire.
âI know, right?â The purple girl laughed. âOoh, letâs try the takoyaki from here!â
There was a short pause until the orange mushroom boy agreed. âYeah!â
Now they were standing right behind Mina and Nako. She turned and politely smiled at them. Maybe theyâd have an answer for this out-of-place food. âHello!â
They jolted for a moment, before returning a bright grin. Well, the orange boy had a small, cute smile but the dark curly girl looked deadpan. âHello!â
âAh, you guys are Tadaomiâs old students, right?â
The tall boy smiled and nodded. âYes, we are! Iâm Sugino, and this is Fuwa, Mimura, and Hazama,â he listed them off, gesturing to each kid accordingly. Sugino definitely seemed like a chatterbox, a very friendly charming one too.
Fuwa rubbed her chin, giving Mina an odd look. âHmm...you call Karasuma-sensei by his first name? How close are you?â
âFuwa!â Mimura exclaimed in embarrassment. Fuwa struck Mina as someone who was usually unfiltered, judging by his reaction.
âYou canât just ask her that. Itâs none of our business,â Hazama sighed, almost sounding apologetic.
âWhat? Iâm just wondering...you guys are, too! Donât deny it!â she protested. Yep, she definitely didnât have a filter.
Mina laughed, slightly put off but more amused than anything. âItâs ok! No worries! Iâm Mina, and this is my niece Nako. My family is friends with Tadaomiâs, we grew up together for a little bit when we were young,â she explained.
âOoohh,â they chorused. âNice to meet you both!â Mina laughed some more. Okay, that was kinda cute.
âSay, do you guys have any idea what this street cart is doing here?â she wondered, deciding to just go for it. She chuckled. âItâs just surprising to see since sushi from the finest place in Japan is sitting right over there.â
They all laughed. Sugino ran a hand through his hair. âYeah, it is weird,â he agreed. âWe were the ones who actually asked for it. Our class, I mean.â
Mina furrowed her brows. âOh, really? Why?â
Fuwa smiled softly. âOur old teacher, he worked with Karasuma-sensei and Bi-â she paused, looking at Nako. âJelavic-sensei. He, um, really liked...takoyaki.â
âYeah, he loved octopi a lot,â Mimura chimed in. âOne could say he was basically one himself.â
Mina was slightly lost now. âLike a spirit animal?â
Hazama shrugged. âYeah, something like that.â
âOh. Well, thatâs cool.â
Hazama gave her a look. âItâs okay, itâs weird. We know.â
Mina wasnât sure what to say to that. âUm, so tell me more about this teacher! He seems like an interesting guy.â
Sugino laughed. âYeah, he was definitely interesting. He had a lot of weird habits. He loved junk food, for one. Always blew his teaching money on that.â
âHe really liked po-â Mimura paused, glancing at Nako. âUm, magazines. He had a huge collection of them.â
âHe used to fry tissues to eat sometimes, because he was so broke,â Fuwa added.
âThatâs terrible!â Mina exclaimed.
Hazama waved her off. âOh, donât worry, he was okay.â
âHe was obsessed with soap dramas,â Mimura continued. âAlways used to try and ship us all together to try and emulate them.â
âOh...thatâs a bit odd,â Mina stated politely.
âYeah, we hated it. We shot him with bb pellets whenever he was being too annoying.â
âWow, thatâs -â
âItâs fine! He encouraged it all the time!â
Fuwa sighed. âEven with all those irritating quirks, he was still the best teacher ever.â The atmosphere had shifted into a more somber, nostalgic one as all the kids looked down slightly.
Sugino nodded. âHe always cared about us and looked out for our wellbeing all the time.â
âHe was great at explaining concepts, and we even made personalized practice tests for every student,â Mimura added.
Hazama averted her gaze. âHe made all of us feel welcome and like we belonged in that class,â she said softly. âLike we were all a piece of one big puzzle, meant to be there from the start.â
âHe built a pool for us,â Fuwa sighed again.
Mina blinked. âWow, he sounds like an amazing person!â She glanced around her. âIs he here? Iâd love to meet him!â
The kids stiffened, and she instantly regretted her question. Stupid Mina! Obviously, something happened or they wouldnât sound so sad! But sheâd been distracted by all that they were saying, sheâd forgotten.
She took a breath. âIâm sor-â
âNo, heâs not here,â Sugino finally spoke. âHe...passed away at the end of the year.â
Mina felt her stomach lurch. âIâm so sorryâŚâ
âNo, no, youâre fine,â Fuwa replied, shaking her head. âItâs okay.â
Mimura laughed slightly. âYou know he wouldâve freaking loved it if he were here.â
The other two laughed while Hazama smirked. âHeâd be a bawling mess. Probably would badger those two constantly until he got kicked out.â
âHeâd insist on personally handling Karasuma-senseiâs hair and styling,â Sugino continued. âBut heâd go overboard and mess it up.â
âSeventy-percent of the food would already be devoured,â Fuwa added with a grin.
Hazama raised an eyebrow. âOnly seventy-percent? Thatâs being generous,â she commented dryly, amusement in her tone.
âTrue!â They burst out laughing again. Mina smiled, relieved to see that they moved on from her little mishap and werenât sad anymore.
âOh, Ms Mina, itâs your turn,â Sugino pointed out, and she turned around to see the vendor waving at her.
âOops, sorry!â She smiled at them once more before turning to place her order. Hard to believe that the answer to why this takoyaki cart was here was all thanks to an old teacher with odd quirks who liked octopi...and guided a lot of bright, good kids. She definitely would continue that conversation with those four and hopefully get to meet more of Tadaomiâs students.
The Other Shoe
(OOC: Mild content warning. WWX is spiraling here. No threat of self harm but dealing with severe risk of mental shut down)
-------------------
Iâm not ready to talk about this.
I donât know.Â
I should have seen this coming. There really was no other way this could end.
So the other shoe dropped. It just wasnât on the foot I was expecting.Â
Iâm⌠Iâm probably being dramatic.Â
But I didnât expect it to hurt this much.Â
Maybe it was because I actually didnât see this coming. At least not now.Â
---
Iâm okay if Iâm not alone. But I canât expect someone to babysit me.
I donât mean like Iâm gonna do anything to myself or anythingâŚ.. But actually thatâs the problem.
Iâm not going to do anything. Nothing. Just like before.
That time too.. This was whyâŚ
Iâm not ready to talk about this.Â
But I have to talk about it.Â
The day⌠I was so nervous but I was so happy. And at first it went so good.Â
It was Jiang Chengâs birthday, which meant it was going to be the opposite of mine. A fancy shindig. A how-to-do of the whoâs who.
But for the first time in years his parents werenât going to be there. Uncle Jiang was out of the country and Madam Yu was off at a charity event. Apparently Jiang Cheng and Shijie had convinced her not to cancel because the publicity would be better for her to be at the event than at his birthday.Â
I havenât been to one of these since⌠well since before I was kicked out even. They took me to some sometimes when they needed to use me as a prop to show how generous they were but it was never one I wanted to go to. And it was never his or Shijieâs birthdays.Â
Weâd hold our own parties anyway. Just the three of us off by the lotus ponds. Those⌠those were the best. We were happy.Â
I bought a suit. Itâs ruined now. But I bought one. I bought it with my own money. Not the birthday money. Canât bring myself to touch that. I bought it with my own money.Â
Itâs ruined now.Â
Sorry I already wrote that.
I bought it for the party. I didnât want to be an embarrassment. I was finally getting to be with my family. My family.Â
Iâm an embarrassment. I tried so hard. But of course I ruined everything anyway.Â
Iâm nobody. Nothing.Â
I should never haveâŚ.Â
To think I thought I might actually find a place there.Â
Not with the rich folks. I know that I wonât fit there. But with Jiang Cheng. In his real circle. In his real life.Â
But Iâm⌠I canât be there. Iâm a shadow on the sidelines of his life. Someone who just shows up and breaks everything.Â
Iâve probably made things so much worse for him.Â
I never should have gone to that party. I shouldnât have answered when he called me. I shouldnât have let him find me at all.Â
All of the Jiangs⌠theyâre better without me blackening their name. They didnât really ask for me. They just needed a kid. Any kid would do. And they were unlucky enough to be landed with me. I should have stayed in the system.Â
I should have run away.
I should haveâŚ.
No no stop it. This is the spiral Iâm trying to avoid! No Stop it!
-----
Sorry. Sorry. This is just⌠Itâs not as bad as it was before. Before I had nothing. I have so much now. I have the Wens. And the Lan brothers. And new treasured memories with my siblings and my niece and nephew. Even if I probably wonât get any more. Even if⌠even if this is all Iâll get Iâll treasure each stolen moment.Â
Itâs not as bad as when Wen Qing found me. But it FEELS like it. Just⌠everything she said to me⌠everything is rushing back. And itâs just like it was before.Â
But no itâs not. Iâm not 18 anymore. Itâs been 10 years. 11. Iâm not some poor kid with no connections or money. Iâm not alone.Â
Iâm not alone
Iâm not aloneÂ
I am not alone.Â
I. Am. Not. Alone.
Keep saying it. Keep saying it. Remind yourself. Put it on a piece of paper. Paste it on the walls.Â
I am not alone.Â
Iâm okay. Iâm home alone. And itâs okay. Iâll post this so I can be okay.Â
Even if Iâm alone in my apartment it doesnât mean Iâm alone. Â
Iâm not alone. Iâm not unloved. Iâm not without family.Â
I need to remember this now while Iâm in the light so I can remember it in the dark.Â
Okay. Okay.Â
I bought a suit so I could go to the party. Jiang Cheng offered to buy one for me but I didnât let him. He probably would have bought a nicer one, but I think I did an okay job. I didnât stick out like a sore thumb at least.Â
Everything started out so well. I got a lift to the place and managed to get myself inside with my own golden ticket.Â
(Yes i know. Invitations to a birthday party. Legit invitation only access. Rich people are just like thatâ˘.
But I got in. And there they were. Jiang Cheng was looking smart in royal purple. Never have seen anyone who could pull off that color as well as him. Shijie was next to him in a lovely lilac dress to match him. Sheâd left her kids at home with her husband. I could see her baby bump. She looked stunning.
And they lookedâŚ. They were happy to see me. Jiang Cheng bumped my shoulder and said he was surprised I actually showed up and that he was afraid heâd have to collect me himself.Â
I wanted to give him a noogie. Didnât.
I wasnât going to ruin this.Â
I did anyway. But not yet. Not yet.Â
Most of the party went fine. I mingled with some people. Lan Xichen was there. Itâs always nice to see him. Heâs so pleasant to talk to and seems at home with the mindless smalltalk. His poker face is on point. Nie Huaisang was there which was a very welcome sight after all the gold bars dancing around pretending they gave two shits about my shidi. I didnât seek him out too much though. We always end up giggling and drawing attention when weâre together. I couldnât afford to fuck this up. I was determined.
He seemed to understand. Huaisang, youâre a great friend. You really are. Iâm sorryâŚÂ
Ugh.Â
OkayÂ
It was all going smoothly even if it was a bit dull. There was some elevator music going on and like expensive champagne flutes being carted around. I didnât take any even though I wanted to down the lot to try and calm my fucking nerves.
People were mingling. Mindless chatter. Meaningless pleasantries. Congratulations, Jiang Wanyin. To your health, Jiang Wanyin. All the Best, Jiang Wanyin.Â
I wonder how many would have even remembered his name if it hadnât been on the invitation.Â
But I was doing well until the gold-painted cinder block parading as a gold bar showed up.Â
JIn⌠Zi something. I refuse to remember his name. Jin ZiXuanâs shitty cousin. The one who makes the peacock seem like the greatest guy in the world to hang out with. The guy whose flunkies stabbed me. Captain Constipation himself.Â
I managed to make it the first couple hours without bumping into him. Because of course heâd be there. All the great families were there and he is, unfortunately, pretty high up on the Jin food chain.Â
It was almost dinner time. I know that. We were gonna be shuffling off to the dining room.I was headed that way when he slammed into me âaccidentallyâ spilling his drink all over me. It wasnât champagne. It was something made to stain. My suit is ruined. Thatâs not important.Â
He did some fake apology. Then started going off about heâs surprised I was there. Surprised I was let in with such a tacky suit. Didnât know this event let in nobodies.Â
I took it until he started going in on Jiang Cheng. Saying if he was willing to associate with the lowest of the low like me then what was he really worth.Â
I tried. I wanted to just get past him but he wouldnât let me.Â
I got a bit more forceful but I wasnât gonna hit him. I knew better. I wasnât gonna hit him because thatâs what he wanted. But I had to get past him. So I pushed a little.Â
And apparently that was enough. He had a couple flunkies (Not the one that stabbed me) come grab at me, saying he was gonna press charges and that he was gonna have to burn his suit to get the poor off of it and that I needed to reimburse him.Â
Something tore as I tried to get at him. Iâd had enough. He wasnât gonna let me go without a fight then he was gonna get his fucking fight. It didnât matter anymore. The ruckus was starting to draw people back out from the dining room. He wasnât exactly being quiet. And then neither was I.Â
I just wanted to leave. Thatâs all I wanted to do. I wasnât even gonna go to the dinner. I was just gonna text Jiang Cheng that something came up and thanks for inviting me and happy birthday and I was gonna go.Â
But then
I hadnât seen her in 10 years.Â
Sheâs still just as terrifying.
Madam Yu.Â
Jin Zixun let me go all of a sudden and I knew something was up. And then I heard him bow to someone behind me. All dignified respectability. And when I looked there she was.Â
I donât even know how she found out I was even there.Â
She screamed at me. She always screamed at me. Jiang Cheng came out then at the sound of his motherâs voice.Â
He tried to defend me. But there is no defence against Madam Yu. And she didnât say anything that wasnât true.Â
Iâm nothing but trouble. I cause pain and disruption wherever I go. I canât help it. Iâm a walking disaster. Eventually I find a way to ruin everything. I canât even go to a party without someone Iâve managed to piss off finds me.Â
I donât know when to shut up. I donât know how to behave. I am a spot on Jiang Chengâs reputation.Â
How dare I contact her son? How dare I take advantage of his kind heart.Â
Jiang Cheng tried to defend me.Â
It just made it worse.
Because I am a parasite. I take and I take and what do I have to give back? Nothing.
What can I possibly do to repay the kindness others have given me? Nothing.
Nothing I can do will be enough. I canât pay back my debt.Â
Iâm only alive at all through the kindness of others and I repay them only with shame.Â
She screamed and screamed but never raised her voice. She is too dignified for that. But all the same she was screaming.Â
She found out that Jiang Cheng had got me my phone. She smashed it on the ground.Â
She blamed me for trying to poison her son against her.Â
Apparently⌠Apparently he had talked to her after he read my blog. I didnât know that.Â
I hadnât meant for him to find out but he did. And they fought.
Iâm just making things worse for the Jiangs. Iâm just creating tension where there doesnât need to be any. If Iâd just stayed awayâŚÂ
She told meâŚ.
She told me if I ever went near her son again she would file a restraining order. She told me that she would have me imprisoned if she had to. She told me that I was a disgrace.
I ran.Â
I ran and ran.
I think I heard some people run after me.Â
I was faster.Â
I ran.Â
Just like before I ran.Â
Just like before.Â
This was just like before.Â
Why did I not see this coming?Â
Jiang Cheng had to sell his apartment. Heâs not allowed to come to Gusu for anything not directly related to business.Â
Heâs not allowed to see me.Â
Iâm not allowed to see him.Â
I ran.Â
Iâve made everything worse again.Â
I thought it had been long enough. Jiang Yanli is successfully married off just like Madam Yu wanted. Jiang Cheng is following his fatherâs footsteps and heâs flourishing just like Madam Yu wanted.
I thought just⌠just one party would be safe. I see them so little. But it was too greedy.Â
Iâm always too greedy.Â
I take. All I do is take.Â
I have nothing worth giving. So I take and take and take.Â
I⌠I ran home first. I think I took a bus but I donât remember most of the trip. I donât know how long I was there. I was starting to shut down already. It didnât happen that fast before. It was more than just Madam Yu before. Before I was lost and alone and starving. I was sick. I had tried to fight for a long time before I started shutting down.
Iâm so pathetic I canât even handle a scolding now. Iâm so weak. Iâm not sick. Iâm not homeless. Iâm not alone. And still I can feel it looming.Â
Iâm afraid to be alone because if I slip back under I donât know if Iâll come back out.Â
Iâm scared.Â
Iâm scared.
So I ran again. As soon as I realized what was happening I ran.Â
I didnât have a way to contact him. I just ran and ran and ran.Â
I should have called a car. Or at least taken my skateboard. I didnât think of it. I couldnât think
I couldnât think of anything except that I needed him. I needed to not be alone.Â
So I ran.Â
By the time I showed up at Lan Zhanâs house I honestly felt like I was dying. I could hardly breathe and there was a stitch in my side so sharp I almost felt like Iâd been stabbed again.Â
But that was good. That kept me aware. It kept me moving. It kept me from shutting down.Â
I all but slammed on his door. He looked so shocked. He looked scared.Â
I⌠I donât really remember a lot of it. I know I was at the door and then suddenly I was in his lap on the couch. And I was sobbing like a baby. A graceless wail. Shuddering, jerking sobs.Â
I donât know how long I was there. I know we talked. I think I tried to tell him what happened but I didnât want to think about it. I couldnât think about it.Â
I probably made no sense. Probably just scared him even more.Â
I calmed down eventually. Somewhat anyway. Externally at least.Â
He was so gentle with me. Even though I burst in on his night. Even though there had to be a million things heâd rather have been doing. Lan Zhan is so good. Heâs too good to me.Â
I donât deserve it.Â
He said something to me. I donât remember anymore but I know I responded reasonably. But he was so gentle. I started crying again and he just let me. He comforted me.Â
At some point he wrapped me up in a blanket and he put Suibian in my lap. That helped for a minute. Sheâs so sweet. Sheâs at least one creature in this world I can do something good for. Even if itâs just helping feed her and pet her where she likes. Â
He left to make me some hot chocolate. Hot chocolate that he only has in his apartment because I like it. He doesnât drink it.
I donât deserve him. I donât deserve any of this.Â
I donât deserve anything.
Iâm not worth it. Not worth it.Â
I should have left but I couldnât get myself to move. I think I was still petting Suibian. I donât remember. I donât⌠I donât know what happened there but the next thing I was aware Lan Zhan was in front of me, looking slightly panicked.Â
He said something but I couldnât answer. I couldnât respond.
He sat next to me and pulled me close.Â
It helped. I started to talk
I tried to tell him what happened. I didnât make any sense.Â
He must have understood some of it though. He was shaking.
Was he angry? Did he agree with her? Did he finally realize how worthless I am? How Iâll only ever drag him down?Â
He pulled away from me. Clearly he was disgusted.Â
I panicked. I didnât want him to go. I didnât want to be alone.
I begged him to stay with me. I was panicking. I didnât know what Iâd do if he left me then. I was so scared.Â
Please. Please. Please.Â
Donât leave me alone.
âNot alone. Never alone. I promise,â he said.
He sat back down. And I sobbed again.
I cried and cried and cried. I think he held me again. I think I remember being on his lap.
I cried and cried and cried until eventually I fell asleep.
But sleep was okay. Sleep was safe. Sleep is a reprieve. I wonât stop if Iâm asleep.
Iâm afraid of stopping. Not of sleeping. Sleep was safe.
Especially with Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan is safe. Lan Zhan keeps me safe.
Lan Zhan wonât leave me alone.Â
He promised.Â
I slept and slept and slept.Â
I donât remember falling asleep but I remember waking up in Lan Zhanâs bed. He was holding me. It was sunny outside. Peering through the window.Â
Everything was fuzzy. My mind, my vision, my nerves. Everything was buzzing. My eyes were sore. My head was throbbing.Â
Lan Zhan was there. He promised he wouldnât leave me alone. Lan Zhan is safe. Lan Zhan is honest. Lan Zhan keeps his promises.Â
Lan Zhan promised me I wouldnât be alone. So Iâm not alone.Â
I twisted so I could bury my face in his chest. I could feel his strength under his sleep shirt. I could feel his heart beating against my skin.
Thump-bum. Thump-bump. Thump-bum.
I focused on that sound.Â
He asked me what I wanted to eat. I could feel his voice shaking around in his chest. I didnât want to eat anything. The thought of it twisted my stomach. It made an unpleasant noise. I didnât want to eat. I just wanted to sleep more.
Sleep was safe. Lan Zhan was safe. I was warm and secure. I just wanted to sleep.
But then he mentioned that Qin Su had made my favorite chocolate turnovers.Â
ANd I realized
Work. We were late for work! Iâd fucked up again. God Damnit.
I shot up. I couldnât keep ruining things!Â
Lan Zhan said that we didnât have work today. That heâd had it covered.Â
I told him he couldnât just keep putting off work for me like this.Â
He shook his head and repeated âNot today.â And then he looked at me and told me that it was a family emergency.
AndâŚÂ
I think that broke me.Â
It was too much. I do nothing but take but I couldnât take this. Iâd ruined one family already by trying to join it. I wouldnât ruin him.Â
I told him that we werenât family. That I donât have a family.Â
I wonât have a family. I donât want to ruin anyone else.Â
I cried again I think. I donât know for how long. I donât know how I even had any tears left.Â
He held me the entire time.
I cried.Â
Eventually I ran out of tears again and even felt the knot in my stomach loosen enough that I thought I might be able to handle some food.Â
Lan Zhan said he was gonna go get me something. I hadnât eaten since the morning before.Â
He got up to leave again. Because he canât stay in front of me 24 hours a day.Â
I know that
But I panicked again.Â
I grabbed his arm. I just needed to make sure. Lan Zhan is safe, but I had to make sure.Â
I asked him if he was going to come back.
He smoothed my hair away from my face and promised he would.
I nodded and forced myself to let go. He left for a moment. He just went down the hall. I could hear his footsteps. I sat there and listened. If I could still hear him I wasnât alone yet.Â
He came back quickly and dumped bunnies on the bed with me. Suibian and Bichen.Â
It made me laugh a little. He actually got me to laugh. My chest felt lighter even for just that moment.Â
Suibian curled up next to me right away. I had to coax Bichen over. She looked uncertain but eventually gave in.Â
I laid on my side and she curled up against my tummy.
They helped. They helped for a little.
ButâŚ
I⌠My thoughts started to spiral again. I was slipping again.
I didnât even realize Lan Zhan was back until all of a sudden he was holding me again. I pressed closer to him.Â
I wasnât alone.Â
Iâm not alone.Â
Iâm not.
He told me heâd brought food. I eventually found the strength to sit up to eat them.
The chocolate turnovers that Qin Su made for me. One of my favorites.
I couldnât taste them. But she made them for me. That wasnât lost on me. She made them to make me feel better.Â
Iâm not alone.Â
Lan Zhan pulled the hair tie out of my hair. Very carefully. And he started to brush my hair. I must have looked like a mess.
He was so careful and gentle. It felt so nice.Â
He kept going even after he got all the tangles out.
I felt better.Â
I thanked him for taking such good care of me but before I could finish that thought we hear---
JEEZUS FUCK. Sorry. Thereâs someone at the door??? Who would be here this late??
Iâll finish this later.
MLHolidays2k19 - 19. Naughty and Nice
A continuation of 18. Elves
Please do not kill me, yâall, there will be a part 3, I promise.
Note: Part 3 is here!
Luka honestly didnât expect her to come. Not many girls would come even to a mall bar like this dressed like one of Santaâs elves. Not to mention it was entirely possible that she thought he was a creep. He was kind of hitting on her while she was working, against his own policy. She was just so cute and sweet, and if he wasnât totally misreading her, she was maybe a little bit into him too, and he couldnât stomach the idea of missing out completely, so he gave her the most low-pressure invitation he could think of. Luka tried not to think about it after that.
It didnât go very well. Outwardly he kept his cool, but internally he diverted his thoughts into a list of reasons she wouldnât come and why he shouldnât be disappointed. Sheâd doubtless be tired after handling kids and parents all day. And it was a little weird for a grown woman to be dressing up as an elf. Although it was pretty selfless of her to do it for charity, and year after year, too, it was a kindâwait, no. She probably thought he was a freak anyway, flirting with her after she cheered up his niece, like one of those pathetic guys who thought walking a puppy would help him meet girls. Man, he really hoped she didnât think that, she was so cute and she seemed so nice andâdamn it, Couffaine.Â
Luka scanned the place every time he walked through as they were setting up. It wasnât the type of venue he normally played, but the act that had originally been booked for tonight had bailed at the last minute, and the bartender had convinced the manager to let Lukaâs band play, though their sound was a bit heavy for the kind of crowd that frequented this place. The stage was smaller, the sound system less powerful, and the lighting quite a bit brighter than what they were used to, but a gig was a gig. Luka had visited while another band was playing to get the feel of the place, and heâd done his best to tailor their set list to make the most of it.
He was just about to go on when he spotted her, leaning against the bar and breathing hard, like she had run to get here in time. Luka swerved away, ignoring his bandmatesâ hissed demands for him to come back. âHey,â he said, touching her elbow to get her attention. She turned toward him and her mouth dropped open a little as she looked him over. That was a nice ego boost, and Luka grinned. âGlad you could make it. Iâve gotta go on, but Iâll come find you after, okay? Enjoy the show.âÂ
He turned to go and then changed his mind.âHey, Vic,â Luka called, leaning over the bar. âDo me a favor, let Santaâs Helper here order a drink on my tab?â
Victor gave him a wave and Luka headed back to his aggravated bandmates with a shit-eating grin and an extra bounce in his step.
Luka felt good about the performance; the audience seemed into it, the sound quality was acceptable, and it looked like the balance was okay. The lights were hotter than he liked, but that was a minor difficulty, and he was prepared for it.Â
Luka ditched his bandmates as soon as he could when the show was over, doing the bare minimum to help with the breakdown before slipping away (the others grumbled, but every one of them had been in this situation before, so they just rolled their eyes as they took his spare keys to the van). Luka stopped in the menâs room to rinse off the worst of the sweat and change to a clean shirt, and then he slipped out in search of the cute elf waiting for him. At least, he hoped she waited for him. He paused at the end of the bar when he didnât see her right away. He jumped when Victor spoke right at his elbow.
âNice performance.â Victor slid a shot across the bar to him. âI think youâre going to need this.âÂ
Luka looked at him, confused, and Victor tipped his head to indicate a seat a few feet farther down the bar. Luka turned to look where he indicated, and his jaw dropped.Â
That...was not the elf he expected. Marinette had removed her false ears and name tag of course, but also the belled collar that had lain over her shoulders, her white, long-sleeved undershirt, and the scalloped green overskirt with the bells on it, leaving her in just the red sleeveless dress with its candy cane striped belt. Her striped stockings and belled shoes were also gone, replaced with a simple pair of flats. Her arms were bare, her dress was no longer buttoned up tight to her throat, and her very nice legs were crossed as she perched on the bar stool. Sheâd taken her hair out of the pigtails and it hung loose around her shoulders. Marinette looked up and smiled a little nervously as someone leaned over to talk to her, and he could see sheâd redone her makeup as well, making the most of her stunning blue eyes.Â
Luka groped for the shot still on the bar without looking away. Victor laughed and shoved it into his hand. Luka tossed it back, barely registering the burn. âThanks, Vic,â he managed, before he took a deep breath, and went to greet his cute but suddenly not so innocent little elf.Â
âHey,â he said, looking her over. âWow. I thought you were cute before but I gotta say, Iâm impressed.âÂ
âOh,â Marinette blushed. âI didnât really do much, I just wanted to, you know,â she waved a hand vaguely. âBlend in a little better.â
âWell,â Luka chuckled, looking away before he embarrassed himself staring at her legs, âIf that was your plan, then Iâm afraid it failed miserably, because youââ He met her eyes again. âDefinitely stand out.â
She blushed harder, but picked up her drink with a flirty little toss of her hair and sniffed, âIâll bet you say that to all the elves.â
Luka laughed. âOh my God, youâre so cute,â he chuckled. âListen, Iâm starved, how about we grab a table and get some food? Are you hungry? On me, for taking such good care of Angie. Rose loved the pictures, by the way.â
âOh, good. Is she feeling any better?â
The question surprised him a little. âYeah, I think theyâre getting towards the end finally. Rose is upright, at least, but Jules is still spending most of her day face down praying to die.â He smiled at her. âThanks for asking, most people wouldnât even remember.â
âItâs good that Angie didnât get sick,â Marinette observed, taking his offered hand and letting him help her down from the bar stool.Â
âOh she did,â Luka chuckled. âSheâs the one who gave it to her moms. Now sheâs all better and wanting to play while theyâd rather die than move from the couch. Needless to say Iâve been doing a lot of babysitting the last week or so. I had it a few months ago so they figured I was safe. I promise, Iâve been keeping her clean and sanitized so she canât pass it along.â
Marinette wrinkled her nose. âAlya made me get a flu shot before we volunteered.â
âThat was probably smart.â
A quick word with the hostess got them a table in the restaurant part of the bar, a small circular booth in the corner that was actually probably as private as the place could offer. That was nice. âAre you hungry?â he asked, passing her a menu.
âSo hungry,â she sighed, leaning back against the back of the booth.Â
âYou look tired,â Luka said sympathetically. âSounded like you were in for a long day when we talked before.âÂ
âYeah,â she turned her face toward him and smiled, and his heart stuttered at the cute way her hair bunched up behind her when she shifted her head. âIt was a good day, though, and Iâm not sorry I stayed. It took us longer to pack up than I expected and I almost didnât make it. You guys did great up there, I really enjoyed the show.âÂ
âGood,â Luka said, trying to contain himself as he looked over the menu. âIâm glad we made it worth your time to come. This isnât exactly the type of place we usually play, though, so we toned everything down a bit tonight. Iâd like to have you come see us play for real sometime.â He glanced at her and thought he saw a hint of pink in her cheeks, though she was studying her menu as intently as he.Â
âIâd like that,â she said, and then darted a glance up at him. They smiled at each other and went back to the menu.Â
They chatted their way all through dinner, with a generous mixture of flirting whenever one of them could get up the nerve. She talked about her work as a junior designer and her volunteer work with the hospital, and he talked about his family and the musicians he worked with.Â
Marinette was pretty and she was sweet and she was smart as a whip, and Luka was somewhere between smitten and enamored by the time they ordered dessert. She asked to try his and he ended up sliding close so they could share both.Â
Then she looked up at him, giggling at something heâd said, and there was a smear of chocolate on her lip that did him in entirely. There was no sign of his usual self-control as Luka moved toward her, catching her face in his hand and turning it up so he could catch her chocolate smeared lip between his, tongue eagerly running across it to sweep the sweet syrup into his own mouth. Then he moved just enough to kiss her more fully, and just as his brain was catching up enough to realize just how forward heâd been, she kissed him back and he lost his mind again, one arm going around her waist to pull her closer, angling to bring her in deeper, and her hands slid up his arms to grip his shoulders, and they were well on their way to a full-blown make out when the sudden slap of the folder containing their check on the table made them both jump. The server gave them a dirty look as he walked away. The message was clear. Stop camping my table and get a room.
âOh,â Marinette gasped, and turned to grope for her oversized purse. It jingled when she grabbed it and Luka bit back a laugh.Â
âIâve got it,â Luka said, flashing her a smile as he picked up the folder. âI told you it was on me.â
âWow, itâs really late,â Marinette said, looking at her phone. âI guess we were talking for kind of a long time.â She smiled at him regretfully. âI should head home.âÂ
âLet me grab my guitar, Iâll walk you to the metro station,â Luka said, sliding out of the booth and offering her a hand. He wanted to offer her a ride, but intense chemistry or not, he didnât think sheâd be comfortable getting in a car alone with him at night. Especially since he drove what Juleka lovingly referred to as a âkidnapper vanâ to accommodate the bandâs equipment.
âYou donât have to do that,â Marinette said as she slid out of the booth. Luka realized he was staring and quickly diverted his eyes from her legs, though he was pretty sure sheâd caught him from the way she tugged her skirt down.
âI want to,â he smiled, squeezing her hand lightly before letting go. âIâll meet you right outside? Iâm already packed up, I just have to grab my things.â
Luka booked it as quick as he could to the back. He put on his coat, shouldering the guitar case and his bag, barely remembering to snatch up his hoodie where it was draped over a chair before he left. He cut through the dwindling crowd to the entrance, winking in response to the thumbs up Victor gave him as he passed.
Marinette was standing just inside the door, looking out of the windows and chewing her thumbnail.Â
âDonât you have a coat?â Luka asked, frowning. Marinette jumped nearly out of her skin and whirled.Â
âOh. Oh, sorry. Um, no, actually, I think I left it in the locker at the North Pole and theyâll be locked up by now,â she sighed, shoulders slumping. âItâs fine, Iâll just grab it in the morning.âÂ
âSorry, didnât mean to startle you,â Luka said, draping his hoodie over her shoulders. âHere, youâll freeze like that. Itâs not much, but itâs better than nothing.â
âThank you,â Marinette smiled, slipping her arms in the sleeves and zipping it up. Luka turned to open the door for her, mostly to hide the grin on his face at the way his hoodie swallowed her.Â
Marinette seemed jumpy as they walked, which wasnât surprising since it was pretty cold outside and the hoodie really wasnât much. She flat refused to take his heavier coat. Her cheeks were pink from the wind, and he couldnât get a good look at her face in the streetlights. It was too cold for chitchat, and at their quick pace, it didnât take long for them to reach their destination.
âWell, here we are,â Luka said, stopping to turn toward her as they reached the metro entrance.Â
âThanks for walking me,â Marinette smiled, pushing her hair back as the wind tried to blow it in her face. âIt was really nice meeting you.âÂ
âIâd really like to see you again,â Luka said, reaching tentatively to take her hand loosely. âI know itâs kind of crazy right now with the holidays, but could I get your number, and maybe we can see about finding some time to get together?âÂ
âOh...â Marinette bit her lip, and the deer in the headlights look she gave him stopped his heart. Her next words broke it. âI justâI mean, I donât, uhâŚI mean we just met, andââÂ
âOkay,â he smiled, letting her fingers slide out of his. âThen I guess, thanks for a great night, Marinette. I had fun.â He hesitated, and couldnât help adding hopefully, âIâm taking Angie to Place des Vosges tomorrow to play. Weâll probably get there around ten. If you change your mind, thatâs where Iâll be.âÂ
âUm, your jacketââ Marinette began, reaching for the zipper of the hoodie, but Luka raised his hand.
âKeep it, Iâve had it forever, itâs no big deal. Goodnight, Marinette.â Luka turned quickly, trying to keep his exit slow enough that he didnât look like a dog fleeing with his tail between his legs. It wasnât like heâd never been rejected before, but this one stung.Â
It stung a lot.
He walked to his van, stowed his guitar mechanically, and dropped his head on his folded arms. âIdiot,â he muttered. âDamn it.â He sighed, sat up, and started the van.
First Meeting
One year after Dellaâs disappearance, and things were settling into some sort of routine. The searches had ended, Betsy noted sadly, knowing no rockets had set off in a week or more. And, of course, she was in on the finer details. After all, she is- she was- one of Dellaâs best friends. She was as good as family to Scrooge.
She still is, she thinks. She hopes, at least, because sheâs insisted on starting a book club with him, and heâs going along with it. Sheâs glad he hasnât cut her out; losing Della was agonizing. She doesnât know if she could handle losing another friend.Â
It must be even harder on Scrooge- he lost his niece and four nephews. At least Donald is still in contact with Betsy, and trusts her enough to let her babysit the boys when he needs to go hunting for his next odd job. She hasnât lost everyone like Scrooge did.Â
Which means sheâs determined not to let Scrooge lose her too, and so book club becomes an even more frequent thing. This month is Scroogeâs turn, and heâs hauling her through a blessedly-abridged rendition of Les Miserables. She doesnât think that sheâd be able to handle the full copy, with her ADD and all. But the abridged version is interesting enough, and she was able to read all hundred twelve pages of the first section in an hour.Â
Sheâs excited for book club day- itâs always good to see him, to try and drag a smile onto his beak. Of course its her luck that he ends up being busy with the board, still having to find ways to fix his company, keep them from plunging entirely into bankruptcy.Â
He ushers her back out into the waiting room with a âsorry, lassâ and gives her a few dollars to get something from the vending machine, as if sheâs still that little girl he knew so long ago- and heâs right to. Sheâs twenty-five, but she still drinks soda like itâs her lifeblood. Sheâs probably got a mild caffeine addiction going on, but she wonât admit to it.Â
So she gets her coke from the vending machine. She sets her bookbag down and opens it, thinking about what to read- or maybe she should write for a bit? She has been wanting to write a novel for ages...
Before she can decide on any set course of action, the elevator slides open, and a man storms out with a box. Heâs not angry, per se, but he is determined. He crosses the room, not even looking at her, and goes to open the door to- oh.
She speaks up before she can even think about doing otherwise.Â
âI wouldnât go in there if I were you. The board seems to be on the warpath.â She says, and he jolts like he didnât even realize she was there. She doesnât let it ruffle her feathers too much. She wasnât trying to be noticed, anyways.Â
âYou were in there? And who are you?â He asks. She feels her beak curve up in a little smile. Sometimes itâs good to be an unknown.Â
âBetsy Hawkins. Iâm here for a book club with Scrooge.â
The manâs face softens slightly- sheâs sure heâs heard of her at some point. The childhood friend of Della and Donald. The second niece- or second nephew, depending on the day sheâs having.Â
âGyro Gearloose. If theyâre on the warpath, itâs probably not the best day to present my latest invention.â He says with a sigh, and Betsy sits up, her interest piqued.
âWhatâs your invention?â
For the first time, a bit of the irritation fades from his face. He sits down on the couch next to her, and opens up the box. Inside is a robotic arm.Â
âIs that a prosthetic?â She asks, before she can help herself. And then she realizes its probably rude, because heâs about to tell her what it is. But he doesnât look upset.Â
âIt can function as one if needed,â He says, his beak curving up in the slightest smile. âBut its meant to slide over your arm, improve your overall strength so that you can lift more things. Iâm calling it the Armstrong, till I can come up with a flashier name.â
âThat sounds really useful!â Betsy says- because it does! Sheâs got really low upper body strength. Things like that would be a godsend for her. But Gyroâs face lights up as if heâs not used to being presented with compliments, which is... well, odd. âCare to explain to me how it works?â
He launches into some in depth explanation, using technical terms. Betsy only interrupts him once so that she can pull out a notepad and take note of the more technical terms, to put them into laymenâs terms for herself later.Â
Eventually he asks what sheâs reading and she shows him Les Miserables and gives him a brief summary, which launches him into an explanation of the Goldtech that had powered the Spear of Selene and how heâs sure he could make something run off of silver if he wanted to.
Theyâre still talking when the door opens.Â
âLass, Iâm sorry I kept ye waiting.â Scrooge says. âBut I see you met Gyro!â
âI did!!â Betsy says, and stands up. âHeâs brilliant, by the way.â
âYe donât have to tell me that. Wouldnât have hired him if he wasnât.â Scrooge says. âNow, are ye ready for our club?â
Betsy nods, and then pauses, flipping to a new page. She scribbles her phone number out, tears it off and hands it to Gyro.Â
âTell me how the testing on the Armstrong goes?â She asks, and he nods, actually giving her a smile and then offering her a handshake.
Later that night, sheâs in the middle of making dinner for one- spaghetti- when her phone buzzes with a text from an unknown number. Thereâs a grainy photo of Gyro, standing next to a dent in the wall almost the size of his head.Â
Betsy canât help but grin as she saves his number to her contacts.
HAPPY PLACE 3
I am living in fanfiction forever now. Come to a happy place - Vol 7 Ep 5⌠a little after <3
Slow burn, lots of flirting and fluff.
(Part One HERE)
Title: Healing
Fair Game â Part Three / 4? More?
Rating: M
---xxx---
 Qrow had no intention of going to the training room to meet Clover. His mind was firmly in bed, in the dark, contemplating the void. His body opened the training room door and stepped through.
 Damn it.
 âYou came,â Clover grinned, Kingfisher slung casually over one shoulder.
 âNo shit,â Qrow said, not mentally prepared for this at all, âSo, what did you have in mind?â he asked warily from the door.
 âBest of three.â
 âReally? You want to fight me?â Qrow said, sceptical.
 âI want to kick your ass,â Clover winked.
 One eyebrow slowly rose and then Qrow finally smiled. He put one hand on Harbinger and felt the comfort of the cold steel in his palm, âWell, bring it on,â he said.
 After a few rounds, the world seemed like a better place. Qrow knew he was a good fighter but it was always nice to have a little confirmation. He enjoyed using his body so much. The comfort of sweat and steel, warming his muscles and making him feel like he was in control again.
 Cloverâs moves were so graceful and fluid but he lacked the instinctual reflexes that took a fighter from good to near-psychic. In a lot more than three matches, Qrow wouldnât have lost at all if it wasnât for Harbinger slipping at just the wrong time and leaving him open to being trussed up like a damn turkey.
 He struggled against the line as Clover unravelled him, âFinally, one to me,â he grinned, sticking out a hand to help Qrow to his feet.
 âI canât even tell if itâs my bad luck or your good luck,â Qrow sighed, accepting the hand and standing.  Â
 âWellâŚâ Clover looked at him as if was weighing up his next comment, âItâs like the General assigning me to you in the first place. Your bad luck IS my good luck.â
 Qrow felt relaxed, all the anger worked out of his system. He tried to be annoyed at the reference to Jimmy but instead, he smiled.
 âSo, you still on babysitting duty tomorrow then?â
 âYep,â Clover smiled, âSo youâll just have to look at my gorgeous visage a little longer.â
 âJust my luck,â Qrow replied.
---xxx---
Qrow woke up late, his body feeling sore but strong after the work out the night before. He had a two minute shower, threw his clothes on and headed to the briefing without breakfast.
 At first he thought that Clover hadnât noticed him skulking in late but he looked up from his scroll just as Qrow sat down.
 âAh Qrow, youâre here,â he said, a little smile playing on his lips, âNot too sore after last night?â
Jaune spat his coffee all over Marrow, who sighed, âDude. Gross.â
 Qrow just about fell off his chair, âSPARRING WE WERE SPARRING THANKS CLOVER IâM FINE,â he growled.
 Clover had a little moment at the front of the room. Vulnerable Qrow â adorable. Cocky Qrow â flirtastic. Fighting Qrow â impossibly hot. But angry Qrow â just⌠wow.
 Heâs SO cute when heâs angryâŚ
 Somehow Clover managed to make it through all the team assignments for the day without staring at Qrow for too long. It was hard but he was a highly trained professional, after all.
 And then there he was, at the very last team assignment, âAnd Iâll..â
 âBe with Qrow, right?â Yang asked, suppressing a smile.
 âLucky guess,â Clover grinned.
 âNot really,â she replied.
 âOk then, letâs move out!â Clover shouted.
 After everyone had left, Clover was left with just his little thunder cloud. Qrow looked at him, those perfect red eyes smouldering, âThank you for that. What I really need in life is my nieces gossiping about my sex life.â
 âI assure you that the thought that my comment could be misinterpreted never entered my mind,â Clover said, furiously trying to keep a straight face.
 Qrowâs eyes widened just a little, âYou did it on purpose!â
 Clover leaned over him, âSo what if I did?â
 âAre you trying to annoy me?â
 âMaybe a little,â Clover grinned.
 Qrow noticed just how close the other man was to him⌠just how his muscles moved underneath the criminally thin Specialist uniform⌠how he smelledâŚ
 âUh⌠Why did you pick this mission?â Qrow asked, awkwardly.
 âTime to talk,â Clover said, looking at him with those stupidly green eyes.
 âAll you do is talk,â Qrow managed, fighting the urge to lift his arms and pull the man even closer⌠just a little taste wouldnât hurtâŚ
 âAll you do is brood and look gorgeous but you donât hear me making a big deal about it,â Clover smiled.
 A shiver ran down Qrowâs spine and formed a warm puddle in his stomach. Say something oh for the love of ass say something! âUh, youâre kinda making a big deal about it.â
 âIâm really not,â Clover grinned, âIâm a dramatic guy. If I was making a big deal about it, the whole of Atlas would know.â
 Qrow looked past the perfectly defined shoulder muscles to see Yang waving at him frantically from the end of the corridor, making thumbs up gestures. At least thatâs what he hoped they were.
 âYeah, Iâm pretty sure that they know,â Qrow sighed, âYou should probably stop though.â
 Clover felt his chest contract. This was it. This was the moment that Qrow told him that he wasnât interested. This was the moment where he got the bitter sweet joy of watching Qrow walk away.
 He tried to ask why but the words just wouldnât come. All he could see was the top of Qrowâs head as he tucked his chin down, avoiding eye contact. This is it. This is it.
 Why the hell did I try to rile him up? Iâve got it all wrong!
 Finally, Qrow spoke, his chin buried in his chest, âMy semblance. Donât underestimate it⌠we saw in the dust mines that youâre not immune. I get that youâre Mr Confidence and all but two weeks with me would really knock that out of you.â
 âPleaseâŚâ Clover whispered, he didnât know what to say⌠his whole heart felt like it was going to climb up his throat and suffocate him⌠it has to be right⌠Qrow looked at him, his gorgeous red eyes were wide.
 This is not helpingâŚ
 âPlease⌠donât say that. Donât bury everything youâve done like it doesnât matter. What youâve done for those kids, what youâve done for this country⌠Youâre so skilled. Youâre so important to them⌠to all of us. You are so much more than just a semblance, Qrow. Donât ever forget what youâve done⌠who you are.â
 Qrow just looked at him open mouthed with those wide, perfect OH GODS WHY IS HE SO BEAUTIFUL eyes.
 Finally, he turned away, âYeah, yeah. Just warning you.â
 âVery considerate,â Clover said, he reached out a hand⌠he wanted to lift Qrowâs chin⌠look again into those pained and beautiful eyes, âSo⌠two weeks?â
 âWhat?â Qrow asked.
 âTwo weeks. You said two weeks would change my mind. Do you want a bet?â
 Qrow smiled nervously and shook his head, âYouâd just use your semblance.â
 Clover leaned in, his lips close enough to puff warm air on Qrowâs ear, âI will use everything.â
 Qrow turned, their faces so close their lips were nearly touching, âYouâre kind of intense, you know that?â
 âDo you like it?â
 âI⌠think I do,â Qrow said, his gaze lingering on Cloverâs lips.
 âSoâŚâ Clover tried so hard not to lean further⌠not to press his lips against Qrowâs⌠âDeal?â
 âAnd if I say no?â
 âYou know Iâll just hang around anywayâŚâ
 Qrow smiled, âWell youâre doomed either way then, I guess.â
 Clover finally gave in. He lifted his calloused hand and cupped that gorgeous alabaster cheek, lifting Qrowâs chin, he kissed his lips. At first he was hesitant, gentle, then he felt Qrowâs lips closing on his own, returning the kiss. He held Qrow closer, wrapping him up in an embrace, clasping his slim waist and feeling the heat of his body as they pressed together.
 Down the corridor, Yang gave herself a high five.
 Finally, they parted, dazed⌠breathless.
 Doomed, thought Qrow, I am absolutely doomed.
Questions
It have been a month. A whole month⌠You still remember the next day after they had taken the antidote. They woken up all grown-up again, Minhyuk had woken you with a big hug and a lot of thank youâs, the others were celebrating and super happy.
You all had a loud and busy breakfast before their manager came to pick them up. The middle age man almost cried when he saw the boys normal again. He couldnât thank you enough. With that, the boys packed up his bags (they will donate the baby supplies left and the baby clothes) and leave. They gave you a lot of hugs and thank youâs and promises to contact you soon.
Wonho had glassy eyes, Shownu was smiling a lot, Hyungwon was playing and telling jokes with Minhyuk, Jooheon was picking on Changkyun about how he cried and all of them seemed ready to go back to showbiz. You couldnât do anything besides be happy for them but a little angust for you. Yes, you will definitely miss the guys.
âHey, (Y/n)! Do you think I can get better until next week? My niece needs someone to join her at a show in Seoul and just I can goâŚâ A kinda of young man said while sitting at the examination bed. You smiled to him and nodded.
âYes, if you take your medicine as I told you to, you should be feeling better by the end of this week already. You just have a slight cold, donât be dramatic.â You always found funny when your patients thought that just because you were a witch and were treating them they were always near death. âWhat is the show she is taking you?â You were also good friends with most of the living beings in your village.
âOh, something that is getting bigger these days⌠What was the name again?... Ah! Monster X, I think?â
âMonstA X, no?â You couldnât help but crack a smile.
âYeah, that group. Are you a fan?â
âAh, yeah, I really like the group.â Your smile grew bigger. Well, you couldnât have them in your house, but isnât it a pain every Monbebe needs to go through? Anyway, you still could follow the guys at medias and listen to what they release. âWell, good luck, I heard those shows are super crowded and loud.â The patient laughed and you two said goodbye.
That was your routine now, attend a patient, maybe two a day, take care of your garden, talk to your sisters, watch something about your tv shows or idols, eat and sleep. You were back to your calm and eventless life. Not that you were complaining but you couldnât help to think that maybe you had just dreamed the whole thing and nothing had really happened.
While you were taking care of a few new plants at your garden, your radio that was enchanted to turn on when it was a music you liked started to play <All In> by Monsta X. Although you have had other idols as clients, they definitely left a impression.
Sometimes their manager would call to tell you how the things were going. He said something about telling other managers how efficient you were and how the guys liked you. That means that maybe you could get more jobs for famous people. Even your coven complemented your development! They were more than happy to finally say that you could call yourself now a full grown witch.
Again, you canât complain. The boys were living their lives with energy and growing in the world, it was like nothing had changed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, saying you canât complain is one thing but actually not complain is another completely different. You had the right to complain to yourself, since doing it a little can make wonders to the soul. Anyways, you were happy for them and everything but you were yet a little salty about they living their lives like they had forgotten about you at all.
You were at your bed that night, ready to sleep, missing just the sleep. You had turned the Tv on and were surfing through the channels when the concert Monsta X were doing appeared on your screen. It seemed that the channel had made a deal with Starship to broadcast the concert.
Whatever, what really matters was that you started to get entertained by the show, forgetting that you actually had to sleep early that night because you had a compromise next day.
You happened to watch the whole show, enjoying it a lot thank you very much. You were actually almost sleeping when they started the last ments. Somehow your lazy brain was picking up some words they were saying but not everything. At least you thought it werenât.
âIt was such a great show!â Wonho started. âWe are so happy to be able to do it as well and without injuries like we did! To see all the Monbebes hereâŚâ
âYes, thank you so much Monbebes that came and that are watching from home right now! You all made it possible and as incredible as it was for all of us! I almost canât believe that we are finally back to this stageâ Minhyuk was next. Then Kihyun assumed.
âWe are really happy and we can only say that we really love you Monbebes! But now we have a special thank you to deliver.â The boys smiled to each other. âWe have someone that must be worried about us right now.â
âYou all know that we had a accident past month right?â There was a huge âyesâ from the crowd after Hyungwon talked. âSo, a very special person helped us with all that problem. We are really grateful to her, not just the group but Starship too.â
âWe promised that we would invite her to one of our showsâ Jooheon continued âBut we first wanted to show her that we were doing something that she could really be proud of, something more than a childâs dream.â He winked to the camera.
âWe all hope that she is watching right now, because now we can officially call her our friend and invite her to our Seoul Concert Encore.â I.M practically shouted at the mic âOf course, all of Monbebes are also invited, actually yâall are subpoenaed to come!â
âWe really want to thank you Monbebes for all the support and (Y/n)-noona for taking such a good care of us!â Shownu talked to end the mend âWe hope that we see you again tomorrow, (Y/n)-noona!â He smiled to the camera. You jumped out the bed. Wait a minute⌠Did he just said TOMORROW?
So.. Iâm here to say thank you for everyone who read this story! I really enjoyed writing! Iâm sorry it took so long and really hope you liked. See you at another story ^^
And!!!! A surprise! A friend of mine said once for me to do a list of questions about the story... Well, next post will explain better. Anyway, next post is still about this story!!!
