Finally found my prom dress!!!!

#So it took 2 shops #and a few colour changes but I finally found it #first shop was kind of bad #like the dresses they had were a bit too bright #and just too much since I wanted a simple dress #and I love my mother bless her but the ones she was picking out were just too much #especially with the jewellery on them they didn’t look as nice #so I tried on 2 dresses #but I didn’t really like any #plus they were pretty expensive #anyway next shop we called before going #like when we were about 30 minutes away 😭😭😭#to see if we could have an appointment #and lady on the phone was like yes that’s fine #this place although smaller #had a wider range of dresses that I would like #tried a couple #and then the ones she suggested #this lady was sooo good #as she gave honest advice and was so helpful #the colour I got was like a bronze/goldish colour #so like a Greek goddess is what she compared the dress to lmao #but she was like do you like the dress or love it #so I was like I like it and then explained I’m not a very expressive person like inside I was like I really like it #but on the outside I’m like yeah I like it 😐#im the same with gifts like someone will be like here you go and im like yes thank you I like it 😐#and I feel bad cause im not very expressive but I do like it!!!!#gatherrambles #g/prom

#in anticipation of the incoming remake #i tried my best to imitate the SH font but #silent hill #silent hill 2 #angela #angela orosco #theme of laura (reprise)#i've said it before but in spite of its occasionally clunky diction i think silent hill 2 is an unusually emotionally intelligent game #for any year and still today but especially so for where gaming storytelling was in 2001 #and for as many pitfalls a story like hers could've dipped into i think it particularly shines through with how they treated angela #not just choosing to depict victimhood as something that can be ugly and fractious and open quote “difficult” but then this #actively rebuffing james for trying to be a white knight and dressing him down for it too #“i know you mean well and want to help but this isn't a simple problem"#“and it's really hurtful and a bit insulting that you act like you can”#the switching to a first person view turning it into an address to the player as well #maybe even old videogame tropes too #“this isn't some princess in a castle kind of situation dude this is more serious than that”#it felt like a very deliberate statement about the depth and severity of a trauma like this #and in doing so showing it so much respect #there is no quick easy solution to this and you won't get one #then angela just leaves #and you never see her again #i really don't think it was to imply that it consumed her i think it was to underline what was just said #this isn't your problem to fix #this is where your part in this story ends #there's some strength in that

god i wish i were more articulate so i could actually explain my thoughts on all the milven/byler visual parallels...... people using the situational and framing similarities to "prove" that mike feels the same way about both el and will when truly the further you get into both relationships the clearer the discrepancies become between the emotional weights and contexts of each scene.... and the way they're both framed the same way to make those discrepancies stand out even more
