#this random guy who had a page about spirituality started talking to me #and he was like can we arrange a time to talk #so I said ok bc i was curious #but i was thinking ‘i bet he’s going to try to sell me something’#and ofc he was #trying to make me spend 1200 dollars on him making a painting of my ‘spiritual self’ that will apparently change my life #i’m not really angry or anything #he might genuinely believe what he’s doing is real #or he might just really need the money #but i wish he wouldn’t take advantage of vulnerable people bc that’s what he’s doing whether or not he realises it #i don’t like being a sceptical person but i see everything as a scam now #therapy is a scam a lot of the time i think #a way to get people to spend lots of money and then when it doesn’t work you blame them for not ‘wanting to get better’#i’m just so frustrated and tired of people claiming to be experts who i don’t think really know anything

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

#MORE SERIOUS ANSWER: i still havent played it but since this was sent to me before it came out i assume its ok to just #write out my general thoughts. its sweet of u to say that my takes are enlightened btw haha im glad u think so.. that being said i #i dont think i have anything to say that hasnt been said already #the story trailer is soooooo. aughghh #the thing im most excited abt is the high probability that it sheds some light on the past of TLB like other fromsoft dlcs tend to do #also the equally high probability of getting more of st trina.... everyone and their mom has always been curious abt all that cut content #and if theyd ever explore it some more in the future #seeing omen-like horns in the trailer and promo material n such is especially intriguing to me bc im rlly invested in that side of the lore #(i love my grandpa who beats me with a stick)#and im still hoping that theres a crumb of shadow (as in. the wolves) content in there but it seems highly unlikely now haha #new weapons and gorgeous views to uncover & music are always exciting ofc. and so are the new npcs i hope at least one of em is either #a sweetheart i'll fall in love with or a freak i wont be able to stop thinking abt. fromsoft characters hit different #i have some concerns as well though. specifically gameplay-wise: i rlly hope that the map isnt too big bc while i LOVED er i still have my #qualms w/ some open-world scope problems it suffers from. mainly the reuse of certain enemies & minibosses. in the grand scheme of things #its not that big of a deal but i really hope that they took their sweet time working on smth smaller #n didnt spread themselves too thing ykwim #bc if they make me fight 20 more tree asylum demons and those loathesome root worms i might just cry LOL #er spoilers #ps sorry for the super late reply!!

I hope the plotline in DA: Absolution crops up in Veilguard. Devs did say the world keeps moving regardless of Rook/the player so that could be a plotline in Tevinter the same way The Masked Empire was relevant to Inquisition, though not mandatory reading material. Really curious as to what precisely Meredith wants to do. Ressurect all the dead Templars in Tevinter and turn them red and then overthrow??? I am curious 👀

#ok the story behind this is: like 2 weeks ago i was at a friends apt (studio) and someone went to wash their hands in the kitchen sink #and the host went ‘are you crazy. wash hands in the bathroom sink’ and me and my other friend thought that was so bizarre #so we were asking him all sorts of questions like ‘what if you’re cooking and you need to rinse smth off your fingers’#and he said no hands are washed in bathroom sink only #so i’m curious if other ppl feel the same way or not #personally if i need to wash my hands and i’m in the kitchen i will wash my hands there. usually there aren’t dishes in the sink at home tho #bc we have a dishwasher #but like i never rlly thought abt it. if i’m like oh i need to wash my hands and i’m in the kitchen i will wash my hands there #like we have hand soap there next to the dish soap. idk what do y’all think #i think also it being a studio apt helps cuz like at home if i were to use the bathroom sink only i wld have to walk #halfway across the house every time i needed to wash or rinse my hands off #which seems inconvenient #but in my friends apt the bathroom & kitchen r directly adjacent

I feel like I've made this post before but I can't actually remember if I did or not, so. if I repeat myself I repeat myself (wouldn't be the first time)

I of course get why "why aren't more alter/nonhumans talking about x experiences?" is a common refrain but one response I don't think I've ever seen is "well. what's to say?"

like part of the reason I take so well to tumblr is because it's got scrapbook vibes. I can have a tag for a facet of my self-conception and just throw things into it as I'm called to -- visual art, music, poems, a textpost that resonates. I can express how this thing feels without having to scrounge together some ineffectual words to try and explain the ineffable or whatever

similarly, I just am not that sort of individual. Grey, who was here before me, was that sort of individual. I am continually amazed by his facility with words and his ability to make poetry out of fucking anything. that sort of thing is far more incidental and rare for me than it was for him. he was very cerebral in a way that I cannot access as well, just as I am very sensory and visceral in a way that he didn't seem to value as much. this means I have a lot of feelings and sense impressions and imagery when it comes to my self-conception but words? yeah, not so much

some of us are just not essay-writers, to put it simply. in dialogue with others I might be able to contribute a few insights, and if I'm asked a direct question I find that to be excellent reason to expend the effort of explanation, but mostly I exist in a lush and multidimensional complexity that I find increasingly difficult to satisfactorily express
