I'm howling, I know shit about the newest Snow White Disney regurgitation but I just clicked on it on iMDb and-

This is where it occured to me to check something and-

IT'S RATED SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN A MOVIE MADE PURPOSEFULLY TO BE AS GROSS AND HORRIBLE AS POSSIBLE. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EVEN MANAGE THAT??????

IT'S EVEN WORSE THAN THE SEQUEL OF A SEQUEL OF A HORROR MOVIE MADE EXCLUSIVELY BECAUSE TOM CARDY MADE A SONG ABOUT IT.

I think I'm going to pirate this and watch it out of sheer morbid curiosity.

You know that live action snow white reboot with the actress that hates Snow White? I had a dream that you go to watch the movie and it is revealed that that actress is not playing Snow White as we had been led to believe, but is playing the evil stepmother instead. Thus making all the weird interviews make sense.

She's not looking for love? Check.

She's a leader? Literally the evil queen.

Hates Snow White with a passion and thinks she is a dumb love sick child? Check.

Is, for a long while, the fairest of them all? Check.

The absolute DISRESPECT for the FIRST ANIMATED MOVIE EVER MADE and its female character who was strong in her own way! The DISRESPECT for Snow White coming from people who plan to """update""" her story??? I'm FUMING. i am FURIOUS. This is the SAME shit I said about Girlboss Cinderella do you understand???

Snow White was an abused CHILD who was isolated within her castle and then suddenly thrown into the  woods and she managed to survive using only her hope and kindness!!! She found a house and offered to work to earn her keep and she DID!!! Snow does not have to be a badass to be a strong female character. And more importantly, SHE DOES NOT NEED TO BE "BADASS" TO DESERVE HER HAPPY ENDING. Some of us in abusive situations CANNOT escape on our own. We CANNOT physically fight back and WE STILL DESERVE HAPPY ENDINGS.

Women don't have to be badasses in order to be strong female characters. So she needs to be saved-- so WHAT? Saying Snow White is an antifeminist character solely because she doesn't save herself is offensive to abuse survivors and to the original character who WAS a good character. You can criticize OTHER parts of the movie– the implication that men living without women will be useless and filthy the entire time, or we can discuss the Queen’s feud with Snow being fuelled by misogynist standards, etc.!! But just saying “she needs to be saved so it’s bad” LIKE. ARE YOU SERIOUS

Badass Snow White reboots are fine in moderation, but just like Girlboss Cinderella reboots, too many and it becomes clear what society is trying to say now- that if you're feminine and can't fight a battle, you don't deserve to be saved. Do you see why this is a bad message????? Some girls are badasses who can kill and fight as well as or better than the boys. Those girls have Mulan, Merida, Raya, Moana, Rapunzel, Elsa. They are good female characters. But you know what? So is Snow White. So is Cinderella.

I'm sure people are going to accuse me of being antifeminist for saying “oh she NEEDS to be saved by a man”– I’m NOT SAYING THAT. You could have her be saved by a woman. Be saved by the dwarves, her platonic friends. By the animals. You could write a badass Snow White reboot without being disrespectful to the original film or tale. Just fucking TODAY I read the Disney Mirrorverse Snow White book– it’s written for 13yos basically so not high art but even with them having to make her an adaptational badass, they managed to keep her personality PERFECTLY. She learns how to save herself in this book, but also remains HERSELF. And her previous inability to fight was NOT CRITICIZED by any character; her sudden badassery was a bonus for her, not an indication of her character!!!

YOU are the ones saying that if Snow White (and Cinderella) isn't saving herself, she doesn't deserve to be saved. But everyone deserves happiness and that includes those too weak to fight for it alone.

anyway that was a long feminist rant. this is also super disrespectful to the FIRST ANIMATED MOVIE EVER, the people who worked on it, Walt Disney himself, and everyone who enjoyed or was inspired by it. You absolute fucking dickheads.

There is a 2D ANIMATED movie in theatres right now.

Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Blew Up

It's the first theatrically released animated Looney Tunes movie!

I heard about it and want to make other people aware of it too. Reviews are pretty positive and I hope it does well.

Apparently if it does well enough Warner Bros might bring back their Coyote vs ACME movie.

And either way...it'd be good to support 2D animated films so we can get more in the future.

It'd also be really funny if everyone went to see this instead of Snow White.

instead of supporting disney's latest cash grab can i suggest watching The 7D instead? it's a spinoff series that came out 9 years ago that disney cancelled prematurely during season 2. it's hilarious and well animated and some of the writers worked on Animaniacs so that's how you KNOW its good.

When Milo decides to begin his day, he invites Snow outside to play some hopscotch. Not his brightest idea, but Snow agrees even though she is extremely pregnant (what a good mom)

Phillip takes his bike after the street crowd starts to slow and decides he wants to visit the fishing hole to try and learn a new skill. He gains a couple of levels pretty quickly and comes home with 5 fish!

Alrighty, I was going to stay away from it but since that post about the worst rated movies blew up, and everyone and their dog was insisting it was being review bombed for this or that reason, I decided to put on my clown shoes and figure out what the problem was. Other than, you know... The movie itself.

*honk honk*

1. Racial backlash against Rachel Zegler

I can already confirm this is definitely a yes. One of the first links I found was none other than Joe Rogan complaining about Snow White being 'woke' now. Zegler is a Latina, which does make sense if you're trying to reach Spanish-speaking audiences, where Blanca Nieve is apparently pretty popular, but right-wingers are losing their minds, seemingly even more so than The Little Mermaid being Black. White supremacists are very likely behind some of the review bombing.

(Side note: I first heard about this movie being blasted for hiring Gal Gadot at all, because she's Israeli. I hadn't heard who was playing Snow White, but I read she was a POC too, and was 100% sure they hired a K-Pop singer. I mean, if you're looking for an actress with 'skin white as snow, hair as black as a raven's wing' who can also sing notes so high only dogs can hear them, it seemed obvious to me. But I can only imagine how much the conservatives would have been freaking out about THAT.)

2. Gal Gadot being Israeli

This one everyone knew, and yes it's part of the review bombing problem. People outright admitted that. The rightwingers hate Zegler for not being white, the lefties hate Gadot for being Israeli. It didn't seem to occur to anyone complaining that casting a Jewish woman into the role of an antisemitic trope is not as 'woke' as these people seem to think, but these guys would have been pissed if she had been hired as a background character. As a primary antagonist? Definitely review bombing.

3. Peter Dinklage being blamed for the CGI dwarves

This one is a bit misinterpreted. Dinklage pointed out in an interview that the OG Snow White dwarves were rife with harmful stereotypes, and if Disney was going to aim for progressiveness [by hiring a Latina actress] they are not doing a good job if they portray the dwarves as 'living in the caves'. He was obviously campaigning for a better portrayal of the seven dwarves, but of course, Disney being Disney, they decided to keep the dwarves as is but instead of hiring little actors they just used horrible CGI and call them 'magical creatures' a decision everybody was universally unhappy with.

Personally, I think they could have kept the setting as it was in the OG but if they were going for a more 'politically conscious' narrative, they could have included a backstory as to WHY the dwarves are living in the middle of the woods (prejudice and discrimination within the kingdom) and make Snow White sympathise with them, promise that when she was queen she would make her kingdom a better place for dwarves, something like that. Gives them motivation to help her and her to return back to face her evil stepmother. Very tropey and very Disney. Even Snow White and The Huntsman managed that much but not Disney apparently. Alas.

4. Rachel Zegler's 'Free Palestine' tweet

If I learned one thing about Zegler on this research, is that this girl has NO self-preservation instinct. None. Please get her a better agent before she's eaten alive.

In one of her contractually-obligated promo tweets, she tacked on a 'Always remember, Free Palestine' which is a very 'celebrity performing activism' kind of tweet, but she got shredded by Disney's management for it and made her co-star need round the clock protection because she was recieving death threats. She refused to take it down and has shown no sympathy or care for her co-star's safety, which is also not a good look for her. The internet, of course, lauded her for being brave (even if I wouldn't call it that), but she definitely pissed off some more people and I wouldn't be surprised if the movie is being blasted for it.

5. Rachel Zegler's posts against Donald Trump

Remember when I said this girl has no self-preservation instinct? Celebrities are usually a bit more careful (or better managed) to keep their political opinions milquetoast so they don't get put through the social media wringer any more than they already are. No one told her that. She slammed Trump voters pre election and then expressed a lot of genuine horror when he was elected. She got put on full blast for this, and I'm guessing that's the point Joe Rogan got involved. One of the Disney execs flew across the Atlantic to yell at her and hired her a social media manager. Rather telling they only thought to do that AFTER leaving her out to dry for the whole movie production.

Honestly, I read that instagram post, and she was right about that one and her concerns were all in place, but AGAIN. No self-preservation instinct. She posted an apology for THAT one tho, but I doubt she's the one who actually wrote it. Anyway, if the movie hadn't been review bombed before, it definitely was now.

6. Rachel Zegler's comments about the movie itself

Sigh. Seriously girl. Fire your agent, manager, whatever and get a PR coach.

It's worth noting on this one that Zegler is 23, very much Gen Z, and she considers Snow White the OG (rightfully) old fashioned in some aspects. But her ideas how to fix it are... Not very mature, honestly.

She has, among other things, derided the original message of seeking love, said Snow White would be more 'empowered', and that romance with the Prince who 'stalks her' has been cut out. Which is a stark show of not getting what the OG was about, and it gives the impression that Zegler doesn't even like the original cartoon and is basically deriding anyone who DOES like the romantic elements. And since Snow White the Regurgitation primarily and even solely depends on the core audience that likes the OG movie (and NOT the 'Snow White but better' narrative she's trying to portray) this was the PR equivalent of shooting your movie in the foot.

To be fair to her, she's hardly to blame for the movie themes being shitty. From what I've seen she DID do her best in the actual film. Everything Zegler criticised could have been adressed in a better way, but Disney handled that as well as they handled the CGI dwarves. In the OG, Snow White was 14. They could have kept her 14, and made the Prince an uncle or a cousin who got concerned when his only living family stopped sending letters and he hauled ass back from the war front to save her from his shady sister-in-law. Change the kiss to a forehead kiss a la Maleficent. It would have still been about love, and that there is no shame about accepting help when you're in over your head, which was one of the core messages of the OG movie, but adjusted for more 'modern' sensibilities. And this is just me spitballing. I don't know what kind of conditions those poor writers were working in that they handed in a script THIS BAD.

TL:DR Yeah, the movie is getting review bombed from both left and right sources. But to be clear, even though Zegler dominates these points, she's the least of this movie's problems. She's just a 20-something with a big platform who hasn't been properly coached on PR management. The only thing she ruined was her own prospects. The movie was a goner from the casting couch in this political climate, honestly, because the Trumpers lost their minds about her being Latina and the Pro-Palestinian crowd lost their mind about Gadot being Jewish. Even if Zegler had been more conscientious about her social media and Peter Dinklage got his way, there is no saving a bad movie from itself.

If none of the above happened? Snow White might have gotten as high as 3⭐ instead of 1.5⭐ it currently has. But that's all.

Ideas part 8: Blue=concepts pink=ep ideas. blue/pink=both

Thanksgiving(or a wonderland version of it) at Lizzie's is crazy! her mother and aunt are like Jessie and Darla lol.

Episode idea (season 1): Cupid tries to break Raven and Dexter up. For this ep idea, this is where Cupid and Dexter first meet. Cupid just arrived at Ever After. She's shy and new so she has some trouble asking people where head master grimms office is. Dexter sees and comes over to her asking if she's new and needs help. She says yes and they become friends! He shows her around, and they go to the coffee shop, laugh, and have a great day! By the end of it, cupid has a big crush on him! So the next day she was about to thank him and tell him she likes him! But then he meets Raven! (this is my other episode idea where they first meet. Even though he already knew his way around the school since he and his siblings arrived late he pretends he doesn't) So throughout the whole day, Cupid follows them wondering what Dexter sees in her! They watch them and see they have similar humor, likes, and dislikes and is really upset! After she sees them laughing in the same coffee shop she leaves and goes to her room crying. The next day when she tries to talk to Dexter asking if he wants to hang out he says he can't and is really sorry because he's hanging out with Raven again. *totally says it with a dreamy sigh lol* (He is a nice boy!) So Cupid decided to follow them to ruin their "date". For the rest of the day, she's in terrible/funny disguises and does crazy things to ruin their hangout. Which all backfires and happens to her lol. In the end, she gives up and goes back to her dorm. Later she hears a knock at her door. She opens it and lord and behold there dexter! With a big bouquet of pink roses! He says that he's sorry that he's sorry and asks if he can come in. *cue puppy dog eyes lol* She lets him in and they sit on her bed. He's says that he's sorry again for blowing off and hanging out with Raven. Then he goes on a rant on how she's the first girl he's ever liked and has no idea about love and really wants to try and be her friend first. And all the while he's talking cupid is of course listening and giving some advice but is also really sad! After his rant, "She's just so amazing! You know?" "Yeah I know..." he notices her sad face and asks her what's wrong. She of course starts to act happy and that she ok and is glad that she has him back! He smiles and hugs her thanking her for being his friend. (maybe even first friend! I feel he was lonely as a child so darling was his only friend. He totally would get teased/bullied a lot so she always sticks up for him) Cupid of course blushes like crazy and starts to stutter saying your welcome and stuff. Dexter leaves and Cupid signs flopping on her bed with the roses still in her hand. As she's caressing their petals she notices a card in the bouquet. It's from Dexter! *He put it there in case she wasn't in her room or wouldn't let him in* 'Sorry about bailing on you! I'm terrible for that! Your new and everything and were the only one who took notice of me and asked me of all people to show you around school! I promise I won't ever let a girl get in the way of our friendship! ox Dexter. Ps. meet at the coffee shop tomorrow? :) *squeals and blushes* *whispers*: "your forgiven. *Kisses the letter and starts to happily squeal/dance and pluck the petals saying "he loves me, he loves me not".

Hunter sees Cerise as his little sister. He and Raven are the only ones that know about her family. (and later Ella lol. What? She's his girlfriend!)

Raven rants to Maddie about apple

Apple's mother is like an alumni. class rep/pres. prom queen. she's that rich white mom who helps with school fundraisers and donates a lot. That is why Apple at first got a suite (my other post about a reboot version of season 1)

Ariel's daughter Meeshell would have a crush on Tiana and Naveen's reboot-shy son. But he likes Lenny! (Lottie's daughter) Lenny isn't like her mother completely though. She does have blond hair and blue eyes. And LOVES pink. She of course is spoiled by her grandfather! But she's more a bit hands down. Almost like Tina, But for the most part her mother. Just a bit more cooled-down version of her lol. And they end up together. She's 2 years older than Tina. But a year younger than him.

Meeshell and Sparrow would be good friends. His first female best friend! They have a sibling-like relationship. Faybelle and Sparrow are exes. Nothing serious. Just a fling.

Ep idea(season 4): They met when he went to the school pool to play his guitar cause the music room was closed and he likes the acoustics. (like bathroom acoustics) He didn't know that she was there swimming, but she heard him. So as he was playing she was under the water listening. She heard him playing and thought that he was really good and couldn't help but sing/hum along. Sparrow didn't notice at first, but she got so lost in the song that she came up to the surface *the mermaid hair flip like her mother lol* and was full out singing her golden voice out! (She's the best singer in the whole school. She and Raven do duets all the time) He hears her and looks up and stops playing and watches her as she sings and uses her powers and watches as she makes water shapes and a geyser that lifts her in the air. She didn't notice that he stopped playing, but when she did, she froze. Stopped mid-note. She squeaked and the water went away and she dropped. Soaking the whole pool area and him. Sparrow was shocked! Mouth agape. "THAT WAS AWESOME!" "I HAVE NEVER HEARD A VOICE SO POWERFUL! SO STRONG!" *peaks up from the water* "I'm so sorry! I was listening to you playing and I just couldn't help myself. My powers get out of control whenever I get lost in a song..." "Na man! That was great!" *holds his hand out* "I'm Sparrow. Sparrow hood." *Does some weird hat thing and winks* *giggles* "I'm Meeshell. Ariel's daughter." "Ha. That makes sense. You have a great voice! *They start to talk and become friends!

Every time Daring and Apple break up they go through the worst heartbreak stages you have ever seen. Crying to their friends, eating ice cream, and being all depressed. Apple's mascara is running, she doesn't even change out of her Pajamas! Just eat junk food all day! Won't even go to class. You wouldn't even recognize her! "Are you sure this is apple white?" "This is the fairest of them all?" Even though by now her friends are used to it, the school still goes "Again?" But also crazy! Girls start to go find Daring trying to "comfort" him. But he's also in his room eating ice cream and watching romantic movies shouting at the TV saying, "They perfect for each other! Don't fall into her trap! She doesn't deserve you!" and stuff. His friends try to snap him out of it. Go to clubs, talk to other girls, but he's just at the counter with his head down looking depressed and the waiter keeps on giving him milk shakes lol. That would make a couple good, funny episodes lol.

Hunter and his family go over to Cerise's place a lot for dinner. Their all practically family. Their dads are best friends! Like brothers! I know in the original show Hunter's dad wants him to be a hunter and all that stuff, but if there was ever going to be a reboot I would want them to be in on the secret of the hoods. Support!

Ramona is a mama's girl and Cerise is a daddy's girl. They both can turn into wolves too. Sparrow is scared of Ramona, to be honest lol (Their all cousins)

The Cheshire cat used to be human. Rather handsome. That's how kitty's parents meet. his color scheme was pink and purple like the original animation. But he got turned into a cat by a wizard. (Don't ask. It's an embarrassing story lol) And the reason Kitty and her mom's colors are the same is because she tries hard to be like her. (Mommy issues)

Poppy and Willow, Holly and Cassandra. enough said. They're the 'cool aunts'. I would LOVE to see adventures between the four.

They also call Pascle "little brother" like Mulan does. They have their own chameleons too!

Since they were little no matter how much trouble they got in (more Holly than Poppy lol. But if Holly got in trouble then Poppy would demand that she be in trouble too so they could be together. AW!) Enguene would always check up on them and bring them cupcakes! Even if he was the one who was mad! He loves his girls!

Snow decides to plan for the future and buys herself a car so she won't have to spend money on taxis to get around. It's a beautiful little red car, and though it's not the best, it'll get the job done.

She takes the little ones to the park to see the winter fest, but they quickly return home because it's wayyyy too cold for little Angelica.

Eventually, Angelica's birthday comes around! She ages into a decent little thing so her makeover wasn't too drastic. I did keep the little dinosaur? feet since they're adorable and Angelica would be the type to spice up her wardrobe.

Since Snow didn't throw a party for her she gets right to work teaching her the basics of walking, talking, and using the potty. Though as soon as she leaves the room to take care of her own needs both Angelica and Milo start crying...Hopefully, Phillip can step in and help?
