There’s a reason I am seen lounging in my Tulgey Wood or wandering around NRC far more often than I am witnessed attending RSA… and yet my grades are perfectly fine~!

There’s a reason why Headmage Ambrose doesn’t try to drag me back to RSA unless there’s some sort of big test - and if there is, then usually he doesn’t need to. I’m already there.

But there are plenty of ways to be in two, or even many, places at once! And even more ways to just see rather than be - and I can see and be, just depends on what I’m in the mood for and what I need.

*grins widely, golden eyes glowing slightly - a yellow glow that seems to also flicker momentarily in all of the ‘eyes’ in the trees of the Tulgey Wood - and a thin, almost invisible, purple mist swishing from my tail as it sways from side to side - a mist that can be seen looping all around the Wood as the eyes in the trees flicker that momentary gold, only to disappear from view just as suddenly when the eyes stop glowing*

It's... Che'nya is it? I don't normally like approaching people "out of the blue", for lack of better terminology right now.

But I've begun to notice a theme of you popping up, rather literally might I add, around different schools. I'd rather you not scare my students by suddenly appearing beside them. I've noticed that after interactions with you, they leave my students quite unfocused on my lessons.

Though... aside from that, you seem to be somewhat enjoyable company for the students, some more so than others, so I'll turn a blind eye toward your technical trespassing on school grounds. Besides... I rather enjoy knowing something else that Crowley doesn't; outside of the normal, of course.

If you'd like, I would be willing to extend an invitation to you to join me for a cup of tea. If tea isn't to your liking, I can find something else, of course. As a sign of good will, I suppose I could call it?

The choice to accept is yours, of course. Do tell me if you decide to join me so that I have proper time to prepare. Also, you may bring along a friend or two if you so wish to.

Ok so I have to admit. I get like...structurally, why the staff would have soulbinding, because it does add a slight sense of urgency (although between the destruction of the Bloody Bridge and however much time it takes for a resurrection, should there be one, unless Ludinus stashed a clone on Ruidus or the spell takes effect there, I think there's a decent amount of time before he returns). But it is kind of annoying, especially given that Matt notably made resurrection more difficult than it is rules as written and that the games Critical Role/Darrington have put out have both had significantly reduced resurrection abilities, that these evil wizards just keep fucking coming back. The best way to put it is that it makes perfect sense, doesn't compel me though; I think it's pretty widely agreed that Delilah has long since worn out her welcome and Ludinus is pretty much at that point as well. Trent was actually quite interesting in that immortality really didn't seem to be on his radar; Halas is fun because his prolonged existence is the result of someone fucking with him; and the Kryn dynasty is a refreshingly neutral approach to arcane immortality. And more generally I think that while there's a benefit to having villains appear, absolutely wreck the heroes, and for the heroes to learn about them and pursue them and ultimately defeat them, it really is a case of diminishing returns. My potentially unpopular opinion is that I do not in fact find the Iron Shepherds arc to be abrupt or cut short: this group kidnapped three members of the party, killed another, and then the party destroyed them. Three beats. Absolutely perfect. Another would have drawn it out too much. And yeah now that we've heard Ludinus's backstory and the party doesn't seem inclined to dig into any details that would be interesting anyway, and they're either doing what he wanted to do anyway or else will presumably destroy or drive away Predathos, it's like this bitch is still out there? what's the fucking point.

Honestly, we're so far into the fail marriage era of Sharon and Randy that it feels weird when they try and get the audience to root for them as a couple. Or convince us Randy actually loves and respects Sharon. I think they should go full hog and mine them for divorced parent comedy instead. Stan and Shelley were born to be children of divorce! The energy is so there already, and we don't have any kids with divorced parents on the show. It would be a fresh dynamic. Stan needs something new to do. Everyone except the Style shippers can admit his friendship with Kyle is boring af, and Matt and Trey don't seem to know how to write him with Wendy. We need a fresh angle on the character. Child of divorce would be PERFECT for him.

in less frustrating news, I think Bless Us All was the real boring plot-stopper song in Muppet Christmas Carol, and that should have been cut instead of When Love Is Gone

I always zoned out at that part as a kid- somehow my grandparents had a VHS of the version with When Love Is Gone, so I never knew it had been cut until years later -and I fast-forward through it now as an adult
