Hey you know Snood? I've been thinking about Snood lately. It is fascinating, in a "weird old game series that I have never thought about very much" sort of way. It's not the first Matching Icons Puzzle Shooting game, since that was Puzzle Bobble, but it was ONE of the first, and replaces bubbles with some little freaks, so it is neat enough to me!
I started this post with the intention of reviewing every single Snood individually, but then I realized, I don't really care about the Snoods themselves at all! Sorry Snoods! I appreciate you being weird little guys, you're just not my kind of weird little guys.
But who's that weird little guy in the bottom right...?
Name: The Robot
Debut: Snood
Oh hell yeah! A The Robot? Now that's my kind of weird little guy! The Robot is NOT a Snood, but I think it is the most important character. The game is ABOUT the Snoods, but The Robot is the HERO. The Snoods are all trapped, and must be freed by matching three or more together! And who is loading up the cannon with snoods, allowing for this to happen at all? That's right! The Robot!
The Robot's design is very simple and very 90s shareware game. This thing has gradients like nobody's business, and they sure do make it look metallic and cylindrical, so that's good! Its "head" is a glass-looking dome, and most notable is probably its single arm, that it uses to transfer Snoods. However, it's kind of easy to view the claw as a pair of lips on the end of a stalk.
Like Sy Snootles, the best Star Wars character! Wait... Sy SNOODles? The implications are staggering! (I will not elaborate about what the implications could possibly be)
In Snood Plus, The Robot receives a bit of a redesign, which I don't like all that much. That's not colorful... where's the love, in the soul of this robot? I know it's in there somewhere. This one floats, which is cool and maybe more efficient, but it's just much more bland and generic, especially its claw arm, which no longer looks like ANY part of Sy Snootles. Next!
YES! YES! AWESOME! This is how The Robot appears in Snood Slide, a Match 3-style spinoff, and it is the best! I love this cartoony style, keeping the bright and eye-catching color of the original, while making it look more like a thing that exists, rather than just some shapes! There's a light bulb in its head, it wears SHOES, and it has TWO arms now! Is that canon? Has it always had two arms, and we only ever saw it from the side? Is Snood Slide canon to the greater Snood series? Well akshually, Snood HD, the version of Snood released in 2009, completely redesigned all the Snoods, and said that the original style was just a simulation. I bet the Snood loreheads were furious about that!
I'm sure you aren't wondering how The Robot factors into Snood Slide, considering there is not a Snood-O-Matic Cannon to be loaded. That's something only Snoodheads would worry about. But the answer is that The Robot will appear and move a line of Snoods if you use the hint feature! So kind of it.
Hey... The Robot is not in Snood HD, and that game decanonized the original Snood! Is The Robot even real? Is it a fictional character in the Snood universe too, and therefore fictional TWICE over? I don't know. Snood is a mess.
They released a game in 2022 where the icon looks like this. That's so quaint to me. Never change, Snood.

I think about this a lot.
How Enid puts SO MUCH effort into trying to befriend Wednesday (this scene, the snoods, attempting to shop with Wednesday for a dress) that's why their "breakup" scene hits so hard. Cause Enid HAS been trying and constantly gets shut down by Wednesday.
Enid always respects this decision of course but that doesn't mean it's not still tedious to have your (self-proclaimed) "best friend" not really make an attempt to hang out or get to know you.
That's why she's so happy when Wednesday invites her for a girls night out 🥲
So when Enid has had enough, she leaves. And Wednesday wasn't expecting this AT ALL. She just thought she'd always be there but Enid as a person is not a pushover. She knows her worth (she struggles with it but she knows at the end of the day she is worthy of good). So when she's disrespected and hurt by Wednesday's actions she'd rather get away from it than continue to let herself be hurt by her. (good on Enid for that btw 💪 know your self-worth)
Wednesday then has to sit with that realization and it genuinely hurts her. She has to deal with this loss and the consequences of her actions, and for once, "it doesn't feel good." (ep6) Which is why it's an amazing showcase that is detrimental to her character development.
To Enid's as well but moreso Wednesday for the fact, the show is about her 💀 but we do still get a really interesting moment of Enid's character development.
Enid did feel bad for what happened as she comes to understand their friendship isn't worth losing over this quarrel. Plus, she's tired of letting others defining her worth (again Enid knows she deserves better but she does struggle with it because of her mom)
So that moment where she confronts Wednesday to tell her she's no longer going to apologize for being herself is really great for her own growth :)
The "breakup" & reconciliation moment is just really pivotal in steering both girls in the right direction for their respective arcs and in intertwining the two together to really build on the foundation of their friendship…into a romance >:)) that's why we have the great makings of a slow burn hehe (and don't get me started on the hug scene 🤭)
hi, I went on a long tangent but can you tell i like wenclair and think about them a normal amount 🫶

My closest yarn store will be closing at the end of the month, which is sad but one of the owners passed away and the other owner decided to close. But... they are selling their remaining inventory 40% off so of course I stopped by. And that inspired me to rethink my plans for stashed yarn and now... I need help deciding what to knit first.
Option 1: Capulet Blouse by Fabel Knitwear
Option 2: Mallorn Shawl by j kolette beckert (plus green beads)
Option 3: Gathering Flowers by Stephanie Lotven
Option 4: Antelope Valley Snood by Tracy Pipinich (bi pride edition)
Thank you! Also let me know if you've knit any of these or if you want to make a case for prioritizing one of the patterns.

Heat index values from 108F to 110F (42.2C to 43.3C) today. This is a terrible time for a cone, much less cone plus snood, even a snood made of lycra and mesh. They're preventing heat from radiating and collecting more when outside; this is miserable.
I'm taking the snood off when Gwyn is resting, to help cool off. It looks like an earsplosion.

Wednesday Addams never experienced love. She's seen it with her parents (too much of it) but she never experienced it herself.
She throught that she may like Tyler because people told her not because she truly liked him.
From the very beginning she said over and over again how she didn't care about him (or Xavier) and how she only talked to him because he was useful to her. He had a car and knows the place more than she. But because she was spending time with him (out of necessity) everyone assumed she liked him, he even gaslight her into thinking there was something between them when she never show any interest in him. She completely disregard his feelings and never truly cared.
But you know who's feeling she always cared about from the very beginning? Enid.
Enid is the only one she listen to. She actively tries to make her happy and when she fucked up she did everything to make it up to her. She wore the snood, the catsuit, she apologized to thing AND she threaten to hurt Ajax if he hurts her.
In her own special way she always care for the wolf and let her get aways with so much shit that she wouldn't take from others, like the surprise party for her birthday.
Because Enid is the only one that truly care about Wednesday too and take time to understand how she is without trying to change her, like every body else.
The only other person she show any type of care for is Eugene cause he reminds her of her brother.
It's obvious that she love her family but the way she interact with Enid is very different of the way she interact with her family or Eugene so we know that she doesn't care about her the same way but she is not any less caring for it, it's just different.
But because she never experienced love before, other than in a platonic sens with her family, she doesn't see the difference. Wednesday didn't have friends before nevermore either, even less a best friend, so she doesn't know how she's supposed to feel for her best friend.
As much as she would like to believe that she's above it, Wednesday still feel pair pressure and that's why she went for Tyler, thinking that's what she should do. Everyone around her thought she should, plus after everything he did for her (even if she doesn't owe him anything for agreeing to help. Which he still gaslight her to believe she does) he "almost died helping" her and Wednesday is fare from selfish, no Addams is, so she let herself be convince that she did like him and she should give him a chance because she doesn't know what love feel like.
She doesn't relise yet that love is wanting to make the other happy, to be comfortable enough around someone else to let your walls done, to be their for eachother, save eachother. Everything she already feel and do with her roommate.
But because Enid is so different from her Wednesday can't even consider it being a possiblity. It's not the fact that Endi is the girl, that s the last of her worries but Enid is just so colorful and full of life, the complete opposite to Wednesday dark and deathly attitude, that it just doesn't make sens to her.
Every time she through about her future hoping to never succumb to the family cruse she still considered the possibility of it, of course she did, she always think about all the possibility but every time she thought about it she was certian that she would end up with someone like her. Not someone that pass out at the sight of blood, that listen to pop music at full volume and dance around the room while singing loudly, someone who absolutely love physical touch and it being her love language.
It doesn't make sens to Wednesday so she doesn't think about it because in her mind it's impossible and yet she definitely is in love with Enid Sinclair.
And after the blood moon and seeing Enid turn into a werewolf and beat the shit out of Tyler to save her. Wednesday saw an other side of Enid she never throught she would see. A tall, strong beast covered in blood. That s when she realise that they may not be so different and she starts to question her feeling for her friend.

okay so here's my timeline :) i got a little tired near the end so let's pretend it's finished (i promise i have a life)
Ep 1
Sunday 18th September - she arrives at Nevermore - this would only make it mid-September, which I’d say makes sense because even though Weems says it’s “mid-term” (9:05), she could just mean they don’t usually accept students once a term has already started
Monday 19th Sep - she goes to therapy, meets Tyler, plays the cello- I’m assuming this is the next day bc that makes the most sense
Saturday 24th Sep - fair we know this is the weekend because Wednesday says there's the fair this weekend, plus it has to be Saturday because there's a whole day of no lessons right after in EP2
Ep 2
Still Saturday 24th Sep - searching for the body after fair
Sunday 25th Sep - rowan shows up again
Monday 26th Sep - Poe cup - Bianca says “I can’t wait to wait to crush Ophelia Hall tomorrow” in Xavier’s room at 29:34
Ep 3
Still Monday 26th Sep - nightshades kidnap
Tuesday 27th Sep - Outreach day
Ep 4
Thursday 29th Sep - Wed goes to the morgue - she says it’s Thursday at 1:24
Friday 30th Sep - Wednesday shows enid her board, class, people plan dates
Saturday 1st October - rave’n - Thornhill says “I know you’re all excited about Saturday at 6:06
Ep 5
Next Saturday 8th Oct - parent-teacher, grave digging - Bianca says “I thought you were gonna apologise for acting like a complete jerk last week”
Sunday 9th Oct - Gomez innocent
Ep 6
Next Saturday night 15th Oct - Wednesday’s party
Sunday 16th Oct - Wednesday gets snood (enid says, ‘they asked me to give it to you on parents' evening’, Lucas was grounded since parents' evening) then they break into Gates Mansion
I’m going to assume this is the 16th of October, I also like the idea of her birthday being in the month of Halloween
So October 13th 2006 falls on a Friday, making it line up that she’s born on Friday the 13th (8:20 EP1). We know the show takes place in 2022 because the flashback to her parents’ rave’n banner shows the date 1990 and Wednesday says “32 years ago”.
So I’m saying that her birthday was on Thursday the 13th of October 2022, but her friends didn’t celebrate until the weekend when they had the time to throw the party etc.
Ep 7
Saturday 22nd Oct - Mayor’s funeral, Fester arrives, date with Tyler - fully assuming this since there isn’t any evidence of when the funeral took place but usually, funerals take place a week after deaths so this probably makes the most sense
Sunday 23rd Oct - Kinbott dies, Wednesday finds out about the real Hyde
Ep 8
Still Sunday 23rd Oct - Torturing Tyler, “To lose”
#might edit this later#to finish ep 8#wednesday#wednesday addams#wyler#wenclair#tyler galpin#frankiespeaks#enid sinclair#s1

I totally forgot it was winter break my bad, equaling spontaneous snowball fights! Loser has to get lunch.
However, with it being Winter break Enid doesn't know where Phoebe lives/staying at while she is town. So, Enid basically worries herself sick to a knitting frenzy to make scarfs, gloves, and even blankets! Its too colded for her free bird, she'll freeze
And Phoebe wears/uses each one she gets with pride. She prefers gloves overall and packs easily, but the blanket is a big plus!
idk why but the image of phoebe with a purple snood comes into mind. Wonder who made it for her...
(enid's pretty shocked she kept it tbh, wouldn't be surprised if she thought most would've tossed it)

he sighs and grabs it from your hands, quickly wearing it with an unamused expression. "there. happy?" he groans at you while taking it off his head.
"i hate this stupid thing-" he mutters to himself while throwing it behind him like a piece of trash. "not cool, dude. not cool"

So all of the Omegas and Gammas wear head coverings like the bonnets in The Handmaid’s Tale?
Not all, only a portion of them would wear bonnets based on the region they live in.
In fact, unmarried Omegas and Gammas would not wear head coverings and in several districts, they won't wear it regardless if they're married or not.
While Sol Fertilis' state religion is mainly based on Ancient Roman religion, in its early days, including the days before it was officially created, the PNP worked with conservative religious groups in order to get their votes. This includes Orthodox, Protestants, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and Catholics.
Despite Sol Fertilis getting rid of those groups, their followers remain and it kinda stuck. As long they dissociate from the religions, they can wear their head coverings.
(Keep in mind, these are regions do not mandate head coverings, only certain districts within them do)
Southern Rural Range- Church crown/hat
Mediterranea- Various; Primarily hanging veils, beret, mantilla, shpitzel, netela, head tie, and shawl; Some do not wear any head coverings
Fertile Crescent- Head scarf, mitpaḥat, and shawl
Arab Oases- Shawl, gargush cap, hijab, and head scarf
Indian Peninsula- Dupatta
Hispania Coastal Plains- Mantilla
Southeast Islands- Mantilla and hijab
Midwest Grasslands- Bonnet
Slavic Meadows- Maramă and head scarf
Eastern States- Head scarf
Hispaniola- Head tie and mantilla
Northeast Valley- Church crown/hat and bonnet

In praise of cowls
I have been making lots this winter – great fun! I have even produced kits. And on Etsy they sell – to the USA and to Europe. But not so much here, in the UK. This I really don’t understand. Cowls (neck warmers, snoods in the States) are warm, super practical (stuff one in your pocket, plus no tails to get in the way, especially good for outdoor sports). They are also obviously less expensive…
