Nesting, scenting, purring, scruffing... A lot of animalistic behaviours have been attributed to omegaverse characters. But there's one I've never seen used, and that's a shame. Have any of you heard about... Kneading?
Also known as making biscuits.
It's something kittens do with their mums, but older cats often do that with their favourite humans or soft toys and blankets!
It's associated with nest-making and scenting. Famous omegaverse things!
(as well as with heats in queens, but I'm trying to keep the post sfw, so shhhh)
Pups could do that with their parents! Omegas (and other nest-makers) could do that with their nests! And everyone could give friendly little massages to their friends!
(or make them a pizza, but like, as an Omegaverse Instinct™ thing)
So consider: kneading.

Still thinking about omegaverse stuff, anyways:
Imagine getting violently woken up in the middle of the night because an omega in your life (partner, family member, friend you were having a sleepover with, etc) had to rearrange their nest, and they’re just moving you around to the perfect spot like you’re one of their pillows
#no fandom#omegaverse#a/b/o dynamics#I guess?#dynamic of shut the fuck up and let them fix their nest ♥️#omegas#nesting#omega nesting#nests

I actually love that you mentioned that abandoning a pack member is looked down upon.
Are there like degrees to it? Like is abandoning an alpha wolf as bad as a gamma one? Or is like abandoning an omega like the worst thing a pack could do?
Each one has a different layer to it.
Omegas: they are so vulnerable without a pack that abandoning them is one of the most horrifying thing a pack of werewolf could do. It is almost taboo. If another pack found out about it, they would shun that pack, maybe rip it apart.
Deltas: can survive a bit alone and are resilient, but since their instincts are so strongly connected to the care of a pack, being packless makes them incredibly disoriented. Their instincts go crazy, to the point where they neglect themselves so much they will slowly waste away.
Gammas: Gammas are the type of werewolf that can survive the most alone, but even then it's a miserable existence. Because they have no pack ground that is a safe place to let go of their constant hypervigilance, they end up overwhelmed, exhausted and incredibly skittish. (Gamma MC has a very hard time feeling safe again)
Betas: it is very cruel to abandon Betas, because it means they are unwanted, and this is the worst heartbreak a Beta could experience. In fact, Betas die very quickly if left by a pack, because their strong sensitivity and emotional attunement to the pack gets severed and betrayed too deeply for them to survive in most cases.
Alpha: stray alphas are very rare, but very heartbreaking. If an Alpha itself is abandoned, it means they are rejected completely by the pack. And that makes Alphas go crazy. The lack of other werewolves drives Alphas insane. Stray Alphas are often hyperaggressive, and so lonely it hurts.

Let’s go fully unhinged today, with the twin to the question that originally broke my brain and caused this.
Standard disclaimer that this is about generalities. Don’t get fussed about social implications or phrasing.

✦MISCECANIS PRIDE FLAG✦
So I may or may not have spent a lot of time making this flag (No I could not figure out how to not make it blurry on tumblr, thanks tumblr). It's a pride flag for all those of us who identify with the omegaverse lifestyle, or in a deeper more intimate level. Ever since I came up with the term in 2020 I kind of wanted to make a flag for it, and now we finally have one! I'm so excited!!!
✦The meaning of the colours and shapes✦
✦Teal: Symbolizes Legacy. The Legacy we received as a community over the years, as well as the legacy we leave as a community for future generations who may find comfort and/or solace in omegaverse and with the miscecanis life-style. ✦Turquoise: Symbolizes Fluidity. Not only of the concept of Omegaverse itself, in its ever changing nature, but also of the miscecanis community and its individuals. ✦ White: Symbolizes Freedom. The freedom many of us feel when we identify as Miscecanis. Freedom that may relief grief, feelings of inadequacy and dysphoria. Freedom to be who we truly are and how we truly feel. ✦ Yellow: Symbolizes Pride and Self-Love. In identifying as a miscecanis we love ourselves more than we hate those who hate and ridicule us every day. In identifying as Miscecanis we love ourselves for who we are inspite of negative perceptions. ✦ Gold: Symbolizes Community. The community we built for ourselves, of mutual support, love and acceptance. ✦ Purple: Symbolizes Unity. Unity of all the aspects above as well as unity of spirit with our fellow Miscecanis people. ✦ The Moon: Neither Waxing nor Waning, the Crescent moon faced down is both. Symbolizing Rebirth and Introspection of the Self at the same time. ✦ The Four Pointed Star: The Star represents the three classic dynamics (Alpha, Beta and Omega) + Tertiary Dynamics. The smaller spikes in between each arm of the star represent the in-betweens of the dynamics that also exist in our community. Yes you can use this flag for yourself! You can also take inspiration from it and make other flags that relate to misce varieties (misceanimalis, miscefelis, miscelupus, etc.). ENJOY MY LOVELIES!!!! (If you'd like a non-fuzzy and blurry shitty tumblr rez version of the picture just let me know. You can DM me).

I was watching a video this morning, and there was a girl who seemed unsettled by the fact that the guy she was dating saying that she was "soft in contrast to him" and that "she looked fertile".
Now, I am an Alpha. Maybe not a very good one, but I am an Alpha. I also like more traditionally feminine and soft Omegas who look like they can carry my pups. And now I've been left to wonder: Are Omegas also not fond of that sort of compliment/descriptor?
Like, to me at least, it's not like I'm trying to reduce Omegas to baby making machines or anything like that. I don't even like babies, I don't want any in my life thank you very much. And I'd take a thinner or more muscular Omega that fits my personality more over someone who's "my type" but doesn't go with me at all any day of the week. But it is rather instinctual for me that I compliment Omegas on how beautiful they look and that (from perspective and to my tastes) means pointing out they look soft and fertile.
But I am now worried that this is offensive to most Omegas?
If you're an Omega, regardless of your gender or even your body type.

Omegaverse Music
Knot Rock- Alpha centric sex music about sexual relations with Omegas with hazy consent rules, mostly popular in the 1970s and 1980s but had chart success into the 1990s
Omega pop- fluffy, sugary, love and platitudes, bubblegum pop music made to appeal to unmated Omegas and beta females, popular from the late 90s onwards
Omega punk- heavy, hard hitting, tied heavily to Omega Rights Movements, although fairly recent affairs, the oldest bands being from the 80s, the songs are some of the few that emphasise consistent consent and the Omega POV
Soft Rock- a more alpha centric version of the progressive and fluffy songs of the 2000s, popularised by the “in the Heat of the Game” movies
Nova Dancehall- a more traditional reaction to Omega punk by traditionalist Omegas and more rarely Alphas
Knot Country- rough, rocky, but far more traditional in sound and message than Omega punk, Soft Rock, or even Knot Rock in some cases
Pub Rock- like Nova Dancehall, but for Alphas specifically, and older, being from the 70s originally, but revived in the 90s as a reaction to Omega punk and pop, but also as a kinder gentler Knot Rock
Novelty pop Rock- silly nonsense to entertain pups and Omegas, really popular in America in the 1950s and 60s, but mega popular elsewhere in the world throughout time, some getting more than one hit in certain places (like James Blunt’s creepy ass IRL, or Snow Patrol or the Proclaimers, who both got far more mileage than expected in their native UK than in the US, or even Bobby Darin, hit machine in America, forgotten everywhere else)

In reference to my other ask about Omega's aging really well (and about if they'd be super healthy or just cosmetically young)
I hadn't thought much about it, but I think for my project they wouldn't just be cosmetically young, but might "age slower" due to being extremely healthy.
In actuality they're aging, but the health problems and complications with age would take far longer to start developing, leaving them with the appearance of "aging slowly" since something like Menopause (or just the inability to have children due to old age) wouldn't occur until much later than 45-55, probably 60-63 at least.
I love hearing about how you're building out your au!
Here are some more questions I thought of -
If your omegas have a longer period of childbearing years, does your culture prefer older or younger omegas as partners? Are there any stereotypes about either group?
Do omegas live longer than other dynamics? How does this impact your society, specifically the people seen as elders/worthy of leadership roles?
Do omegas experience any kind of medical bias? Similarly to how women of color often get neglected in medical settings when asked about their pain or when they make a complaint - do omegas' issues get overlooked because it's just assumed they are fine?
If omegas take longer to develop the signs of aging, but don't have longer lifespans, does that mean they experience a rapid decline in quality of life after they hit a certain age? Many experiences that are normally prescriptive of a certain age range - menopause, dementia, alzheimer's, osteoporosis - have a slow/medium lead up period before actually getting into the thick of it. If omegas in your au don't even begin to develop symptoms until later on, but still have the same life expectancy as anyone else - one can assume the timeline of those "long" conditions would be much shorter.

Once again thinking about an “omega” oc (they’re half human, half made up alien species that has the a/b/o dynamics, but specifically my version of it), and here are some more thoughts about it that I want to share (and have written down somewhere so I can maybe do something with them later):
• Questions about an omega’s nest are usually taken as flirting
• Omegas instinctively wanting to put favorite items in their nest, which sucks for them when they want to, y’know, actually use those items and they have to fight their instincts to retrieve said items
• Omegas wanting to instinctively have a nest everywhere causing territory disputes in school, at home, and other places they may be frequently
#do I still ST cause this is a ST oc?#hmmm just gonna tag it as#no fandom#since I didn’t specifically mention st#humans#aliens#extraterrestrials#made up alien species#a/b/o dynamics#omegas#omegaverse#sorta#I mean it’s regular verse but there’s a species with omegas#nesting

Can you make omega Metal lee headcanons pls?
Hohoho~ it's been a while since I've do anything dealing with Omegaverse... It's been a while since I've limbered up...
─────────ೋღ 🌺 ღೋ─────────
Omega!Metal Lee headcanons
Metal was probably very embarrassed about being an Omega, he always wore scent-blocking collars and used scented body wash and soaps to hide his scent.
He pretended to be a Beta for some time, but eventually came around..
He was definitely a late bloomer.
He hates his heat cycle, his 1st heat cycle left him sort of traumatized.
He produces a lot more slick than other Omegas due to a hormonal imbalance he gained from abusing heat suppressents.
Metal's (natural) identifier scent is lavender with a hint of mint.
Metal is probably very particularly about his nest, it's very neat and clean.
Metal definitely collected an article of clothing from each of his friends to add to his nest ~
Metal definitely enjoys dark navy green aesthetic for his nest.
Fairy lights!! 💚

Hi! Sorry if it was asked before, but could you please explain how werewolf hierarchy works? I think that I kind if understand that alphas are on the very top like chieftains of a tribe, what about the rest? Who is next? What is delta? Is omega the lowest ranking member? And what do packmates do according to their ranks? Especially deltas. Finally, ate there any other designation except for alpha, beta, delta and omega? And what do they represent?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions, I just got very curious about the werewolf lore, especially yours because each author writes werewolves differently.
Hello, dear anon! I loved receiving this many lore questions <3 let's start from the beginning
Your comparison to a tribe is completely on point because packs were born in ancient times as sort of tribes and they have kept some of the structures and rituals to this day. There isn't a proper hierarchy, though. Just, everyone has its place and specific role.
There is only a sort of line of command when hunts are concerned, with alphas at the top and omegas being the ones to either stay home or act more according to their instincts (usually, alphas don't order omegas around. They just allow them to do their thing and most importantly alphas protect the vulnerable members of their pack). So this means that there isn't a lower ranking member per se.
In the pack, there are in total five designations: alphas, betas, gammas, deltas, omegas. (There may be more werewolf designations, but I will explain them if they are relevant to the plot)
Alphas are the ones who ultimately make the decisions in the pack. Not because they are dominant, but because they are the first to put themselves in line to protect the pack, or to bear the blunt of any decision that might go badly. Alphas are built to be resistant and deadly. Also to feel incredibly protective and territorial of their pack.
Betas follow alphas in hunts, and generally they are built for teamwork - in contrast with other roles who work better alone. Betas are intelligent and sensitive to the mood of the pack, they are quick to react and follow directions. They, too are quite protective, but not as territorial as alphas.
Gammas are the ones who guard the territory. Or scout the land. They are incredibly silent, and the fastest type of were (if you don't count omegas when they are feral). They generally work well with betas, and are in tune with other werewolves, responding to directions as the others decide. They can, though, disobey and fight if they don't feel like their orders are fair.
Deltas are the hard working wolves of the pack. Physically built for resistance and stamina, they aren't fast or agile. Instead, deltas usually help gammas guard the pack territory and rarely leave it (Indigo and Raine, the two deltas, weren't with Bela at the djinn lair). They experience strong urges to provide for the pack, and to protect it (they can be even quite possessive of the pack).
Omegas are, at the same time, the strongest designation and the most vulnerable. Strong because they are built to kill anyone that might threaten the pups/injured pack members - including strong supernaturals or even other werewolves. Vulnerable because omegas have a docile nature and can be exploited by supernaturals who are aware of this. Omegas are rarely aggressive, but they can go feral if their pack is gravely threatened.
In a way, omegas are kept in high regard by the pack. They are looked after and respected (in good packs) for their role.
