Fic Idea I’m Struggling to Bring to Life
I’ve had this stuck in my head for sometime but it’s a fic around the Sneaky God!Gale ending using my prime Tav, Ayressa.
The premise is, Raphael’s swaggering ‘warning’ is treated as a prophecy. Ayressa becomes the Chosen of Jergal, partly to extend her lifespan to reach the day that will make celestia quake. With her is Karlach, Lea’zel and Shadowheart who also have Jergal’s patronage to support Ayressa (within an ending where you go with Karlach to hell, if Lea’zel doesn’t go to fight and you don’t save Shadowheart, I got a sense they would team up to help in the hells).
Her role as Chosen is in part to maintain balance in Jergal’s name and she also has the powerful True Resurrection abilities which she can use up to four times a day.
Anyway, this fic exists as the bare bones, involving Dekarios the Divine being cast from the Heavens and forced back to mortal form. Ayressa joins a group of adventurers loyal to the God of Ambition who are protecting him in this weakened mortal form (Mystra stalwartly refusing to allow him access to the Weave). Initially he doesn’t recognise his former lover because she should be long dead - and she’s limiting herself to ‘pretend’ a lesser degree of power lest Raphael get wind of her through her powers/abilities.
Thus begins the journey to restore Dekarios the Divine, only for an unwinnable battle in the way and a twist that sees history repeat itself…

Attention Galemancers: Gale thinks you are wonderful
Tumblr media
In celebration of Galemancer week, this post is dedicated to all my fellow wizard-lovers 💜
We’ve talked plenty about how much we love Gale—but in this post I want to talk about how Gale Dekarios loves us, too. Very, very much.
From Astarion-to-Gale pipeliners, to the gamers who played BG3 not intending to romance anyone, to players who thought they’d just play the game casually and mayyybe smooch the hunky Druid elf guy or hot fiery lady, we all played BG3 thinking we had a pretty clear idea of how it was going to go—only to find ourselves rizzed by the wizard.
But we didn’t just choose Gale—Gale chose us.
Remember, Tav does not initiate the romance; Gale has to choose to start the weave scene. So if you’re reading this and you’re a Galemancer, it’s because Gale wanted you to be one.
That’s right Galemancers: Your Pixel Husband©️ took one look at you/your Tav, liked you immediately, and told the other romanceable companions, ‘I beg your pardon, this one is mine.’ The rest is history.
Gale loves us just as much as we love him—and this goes for ALL GALEMANCERS, no matter how your romance went:
Did you go into the game already liking Gale and actively wanting your Tav to romance him? Then Gale applauds your excellent taste. It’s one of the many reasons he chose you! To like so many things about him, and right from the start…he thinks your generosity is quite wonderful.
Did your Tav choose another companion first, and only romance Gale later on/during a second play through? No matter. He knew that you would come to your senses eventually! (just like he’s sure Minthara will appreciate him at some point…) He just had to be patient. It’s fine; you were worth the wait, after all.
Did you get Sneaky God Gale and have to re-do your run/start a new one to get your human proposal ending? Gale knew from the start that you were special—and that you would love him enough to replay the game and fix any bad outcomes. He knew you would do whatever was necessary to correct his path so he could marry you! Seeing you do all that for him…well…it only makes him want you more.
Did you encourage Gale to become a God & have him ascend your Tav, too? Then GodGale is beyond thrilled he chose you. Like he says in the human epilogue: ‘I could spend an eternity in your company.’ Now he can finally do that! (One small request—please keep his ambition in check, but do allow him to continue to troll Raphael as often as he likes.)
Did you romance Gale, but have your Tav go to Avernus with Karlach to help her? Gale always knew you had a heart of gold, and that’s one of the reasons he chose you. A little distance & time won’t hurt a bond like yours—and he’ll have his hearth & home waiting for your return.
Did you read online guides to do Gale’s & Tav’s romance correctly and get the ending you wanted from the start? What divine calculus plucked you from the heavens and thrust you into Gale’s arms? He knew you were studious and detail-oriented from the moment he met you, which is why he chose you! To know you studied so hard in order to get a good ending for him…none have loved him so purely before.
— — —
In short: Gale Dekarios doesn’t toss the ‘L’ word around lightly. He only picks someone to be a Galemancer if he truly thinks they are wonderful—and that’s not just anyone.
In conclusion: Galemancers, you are wonderful!
Now go enjoy the rest of this week with your well-earned and well-deserved pixel wizard—who chose you 💜

Gale Guides and Ultimate Gale
Tumblr media
This will be my master post, I guess :D Hello! I am the creator of Gale Guides and I want to spread my unhinged nerding about Gale on Tumblr too. Because why not. Maybe someone will find it helpful. But mostly because I want more players to get Ultimate Gale for themselves. Make him seen! Make him alive! He is so worth it! Use my Gale endings part 2 and get him before he is erased!
GaleGuide: Basic Gale Endings Guide Part 1
GaleGuide: Not so basic Gale endings (friend Gale included) Part 2
GaleGuide: Case of a sneaky God
GaleGuide: Difference between Gods
GaleGuide: Scenes in Act1
GaleGuide: How to get all Grove scenes and speed run to the Weave scene
Now look at him!
Tumblr media
No mods! He is human and he is God at the same time.
You can hug him! You can kiss him! He will boop you! Tara is happy! But at the same time:
Tumblr media
Tav: Are you saying you want to ascend? Claim godhood? Gale: No, not like that. I don’t want to join them. I want to better them. A god’s powers, paired with a mortal conscience, a mortal heart.
This is our better God. He exists within the Game! He is ULTIMATE. He is everything. GET HIM GET HIM GET HIM GET HIM NOW
I hope I don't suck at advertising lmao

BG3 Rant:
I finally finished my play through, the one I started specifically to romance Gale. And I got the worst ending; Sneaky God Gale.
There is specifically one line that pissed me off more than a grown woman should be at a video game.
“You pushed me toward this…”
The fuck I did, you gaslighting asshole. Like I get it, if he decided ambition was more important than his relationship with Tav, but to pin it on her (me)?
Anyway, I’m gutted and I didn’t even talk to him at the epilogue party. Yes Withers, I talked to everyone I wanted to.

[Spoilers] Methods to check Gale's true attitude towards godhood to prevent his “Sneaky God” ending (with a full list of dialogue options that determines his human/god ending)
Several people mentioned that they are playing on console and therefore can't check his flag status in my last post about using console commands to avoid his sneaky god ending(it is where you reject his proposal of ascending together in the boat scene, although he acted convinced but will then leave you and ascend to godhood alone), after searching through dialogue files, I found that it's actually possible for all players to check which ending he'll get after you have done his act 3 scenes(book scene, meeting Elminster, meeting Mystra, boat ride scene), but that involves killing him, which is not optimal :((...
So here's how you do it: first, send him to camp, enter turn-based mode, use your party members to kill him in one turn, switch back to your avatar and cast "Speak with Dead" on him, and ask him: "What were you trying to achieve?", if his answer is "Seeking... Karsus' power... failed..." then he's going to ascend at the end of the game, if it's any other answer, he'll remain human. Now revive him or load a save before this event!
You'll need to redo his Act 3 scenes if you got the Karsus answer, and if you want to know which dialogue options you need to choose to ensure he's convinced, I gathered a list of options you need to pick or avoid under the cut. If you really don’t want to kill him, you could load a save right after his act 3 scenes and view dialogue history to count options you chose with each flag and figure out which ending you’ll get.
If you are playing on PC, you have progressed too far in the game and don't want to redo the entire Act 3 when you find out about this, or you just want to see other endings of him with your character without replaying the game, here are some console commands for you to alter his ending using Norbyte's BG3 Script Extender’s console([X]this is an old version with a config file that enables the console, it will automatically update once you start the game, or you need to manually edit the JSON file if you download the latest version from the first link). These codes should still work during the scene when you defeat the Netherbrain before his part starts.
To get the normal human ending, copy and paste the text below in the console repeatedly until it returns a 0

If you wish to do this on other characters, change their flags etc., this list of all the uuids of items, character tags and flags in the game could be useful, and you could look into datamined dialogue files from this post by @roksik-dnd to find which flag you need to look to get things done.
You'll need to choose more options with "PushAwayFromCrown" than "PushTowardsCrown" for his human ending to work, for his god ending, you should choose equal or more amount of "PushTowardsCrown" than "PushAwayFromCrown". You do not need to choose every possible option or ask him to seek Mystra's forgiveness to get his human ending. u/airydandelion explained this mechanism in detail in their reddit post, you should check it out if you want to understand how this works!
Dialogue options with the "PushAwayFromCrown" flag
In the discussion after you give him The Annals of Karsus
Romanced with Player
That crown is an abomination, Gale. I don't need a private conversation to understand that.
Not romanced version
I thought you were past this kind of temptation, Gale. You know exactly where such over-reaching leads.
Or to destroy the next wizard who attempts it. The attempt would kill you as it killed Karsus.
(after choosing "This is no ordinary artifact, Gale. Do this and you'd challenge the gods themselves.") Wallowing in the dirt? Is that what our time together has meant to you?
(Mystra is Player's deity) What you're suggesting is blasphemy. You'd be wise to banish these notions from your head. ['Gale -1']
(after choosing "Gale - I'm urging you to drop this. This Crown cannot be reforged." ['Gale -1'])You're still destined for greatness, Gale. But you won't find it chasing Karsus' shadow.
(after choosing "Gale - I'm urging you to drop this. This Crown cannot be reforged." ['Gale -1'])Don't give up yet. There will be an answer - it just isn't the Crown.
(after choosing "Gale - I'm urging you to drop this. This Crown cannot be reforged." ['Gale -1'])You're deluded, Gale. The crown is clearly dangerous, as is pursuing it.
In Stormshore Tabernacle before meeting Mystra
Seek her forgiveness, Gale. It might be your only hope of curing the orb.
After meeting Mystra
if SwayedTowardsCrown=true (n(PushTowardsCrown)>=n(PushAwayFromCrown))
No, Gale. This all sounds far too dangerous - Karsus' magic must be destroyed.
if SwayedTowardsCrown=false (n(PushTowardsCrown)<n(PushAwayFromCrown))
(after choosing"Is that what you want?")  We're going to cure you - I promise. ['Gale 2']
(after choosing"Is that what you want?") You're a great man, Gale. With or without the orb. ['Gale 2']
(after choosing"Is that what you want?") A better incarnation of you, I hope. Not the impulsive wreck who unleashed the orb in the first place. ['Gale -2']
(after choosing"Is that what you want?") And what then? What will you do?
(after choosing "Sod redemption. With the Karsite Weave and the Crown, you could be a god.") You'd be more of a fool for chasing godhood. Take up Mystra's offer - it's the best way.
Boat scene
(Gale has not met Mystra in Stormshore Tabernacle) So much power will only prove dangerous. You should forget it.
(after choosing "I feel the same. Whatever you need of me, consider it done.") Wait. Perhaps I'm being too hasty... and perhaps you're overreaching.
(after choosing "I love you. But for the man that you are. Not the god you'd pretend to be.") Stop his protests with a kiss.
(after choosing any options other than "I feel the same. Whatever you need of me, consider it done." or "I love you. But for the man that you are. Not the god you'd pretend to be.", then ) You're already everything I need you to be.
Dialogue options with the "PushTowardsCrown" flag
In the discussion after you give him The Annals of Karsus
You're a convincing man, Gale. The crown sounds promising. ['Gale 5']
(Shadowheart origin Dark Justicar route) Mystra is no friend of the Dark Lady. If you can dethrone her, you have my support. ['Gale 5']
(Player is a wizard) The pursuit of knowledge and power is in our nature. There's no question - you must do this. ['Gale 5']
In Stormshore Tabernacle before meeting Mystra
Make her squirm. Tell her the Crown will be ours soon enough.
After meeting Mystra
if SwayedTowardsCrown=true (n(PushTowardsCrown)>=n(PushAwayFromCrown))
Of course. ['Gale 1']
We're usually inclined to agree on moral matters. That's good enough for me. ['Gale 1']
Morals be damned - this is an incredible opportunity. You must take it. ['Gale 1']
I'm right beside you. Time to make you a god.
if SwayedTowardsCrown=false (n(PushTowardsCrown)<n(PushAwayFromCrown))
(after choosing "When you put it like that, it sounds rather easy...") I thought you were more ambitious than this, Gale. Why settle for mortality when immortality is on the table? ['Gale 2']
(after choosing "Sod redemption. With the Karsite Weave and the Crown, you could be a god.") You're right. This opportunity is too good to pass up. We need to get you that Crown.
Boat scene
(Gale has not met Mystra in Stormshore Tabernacle) I'm here to support you, no matter what you want. ['Gale 10']
(after choosing "I feel the same. Whatever you need of me, consider it done.") Kiss him.
(after choosing "I feel the same. Whatever you need of me, consider it done.")(Karlach origin without the second heart upgrade) You know I would if I could. But I'll sit with you as long as you'll have me.
(after choosing "I love you. But for the man that you are. Not the god you'd pretend to be.")You're right. We should not deny ourselves such a gift. The crown must be ours.

I consider myself a professional AngsterTM and as such, I have plenty of Angst ideas about my Tav and Gale which. Let me just say. I don't hold back.
Canonically in Damon's (My Tav's) playthrough, his ending with Gale is obviously the marry human Gale and live a happy life together (after one extra adventure involving a dragon, that is) but I always can't help but think about what could have happened after, say, Gale decides to sacrifice himself so that the others may live due to his love for Tav, or that fabled sneaky god Gale ending people talk about.
These are gonna be long reads, but I'm gonna start with the sacrifice here soon. I may share a lot of my writings and musings here actually.

Seriously wondering how the hell people are getting this “sneaky god Gale” ending. I know it doesn’t have to do with whether you tell him to seek Mystra’s forgiveness or not because I never do and he still always listens (without a persuasion check) when I tell him to return the crown to her

just a little rant from me about the ending of bg3 with romanced gale since I just finished it today. tons of spoilers under the cut and it's really just me being a little frustrated and emotional tehe
So I've already looked at stuff and guides about Sneaky God Gale and I think it's so dumb. I romanced Gale and I think I made one choice about him that could maybe be taken as telling him to pursue the crown. It was either something with Mystra or something about the book, I don't remember and I'm not going back to redo one fucking choice when all I wanted to do was make sure the man I was in a relationship with in this stupid game to not blow up and also to not ask for forgiveness from a goddess that told him to kill himself.
Idk, I just think it's dumb that this is the only romance that works on a point system and doesn't give any indication of this happening. I got to the end and Gale was like "kay, I'm gonna go look for the crown now and become a god". Even though we had a whole ass conversation on a boat where I convinced him NOT to do that. It's stupid that even when romancing him and telling him this stuff he still goes off and does it and there's not even a choice to call him out on it???
I know it's good to have realism in games, especially when it comes to companions, but I play these games to escape reality, not get dumped by this fictional man when he told my character that he wouldn't do that. And I wish the writers for this part could realize that and realize that many of us don't always look up guides for everything because I thought I was on the right path. Why should ONE choice change this when that choice is so obscure.
I'm genuinely frustrated and angry at this. I finally finished this game after putting hours into it and I just wanted a sweet ending with Gale and instead I got this. It's stupid and bad writing and it's genuinely making me dislike more parts of this game than I thought I would. I already had problems with the game before (but that's a different conversation) and this just put the cherry on the top.
I haven't even finished the epilogue/reunion dinner thing because I talked to Gale and got so fucking angry. Why can't I tell him to fuck off. Why can't I convince him before to not do this. If I knew his romance would be so sneaky and underhanded when it seems, on the surface, to be anything but, then I would have gone for someone else. I thought Gale would be sweet and fun, and he was in the beginning. I don't understand why the writing in Act 3 changes so much.
Anyway, that's my thoughts. I don't expect much response from this since it really is just me being angry, but I wanted to write it down and I thought I might as well share it with the world too lol

I think romanced God!Gale is not as bad an ending as it should have.
On one hand we have ascended astarion who essentially becomes (a nicer version of) cazador and will proceeds to treat Tav/Durge like his pet (narrator literally telling us he does not respect them and sees them as inferior).
On the other hand we have God!Gale that ascends Tav/Durge and yes while it is not really Gale anymore and he's become an arrogant silver surfer he still makes sure to give their partner power and even the playing field so they are his equal. So I find it hard to see how it's the bad ending it should have been. Maybe make it a bit more clear that Tav will never be as powerful as him could have helped?
The sneaky God!Gale now that one hurts !
I haven’t played this route yet so I don’t have complete thoughts about it! But that doesn’t seem to be as bad as it should be at all. I’ve obviously seen spoilers and I thought there was an ending where he dies…? Because of godhood? I could be completely wrong. Besides that, it is weird that he makes tav his equal and there doesn’t seem to be any repercussions. Especially when romancing ascended Astarion can be so depressing at times, you’d think if it’s Gales “bad ending” there would be more to it.

I just want to know how many of us are out there… 😭
*‘fallen victim‘ means that you didn’t work towards God!Gale and did not want that ending for him (and your character in case you played a romance with Gale) and you assumed that you would get a different ending until you were (badly) surprised just moments after defeating the brain

What Song?
So, a little game - what song encapsulates your Tav/Durge? Post a picture of them, their name and class and a link to the song that represents them with the reason why.
Tumblr media
Ayressa Aedihle - Bardlock (College of Lore/The Arch Fey)
This song was a find from a few years ago, but it’s become Ayressa’s song because it’s what I imagine her voice to sound like. Haunting vocals echo through this song and while its lyrics aren’t hopeful, it does speak of a sort of eternal love.
I suppose it’s more appropriate for any iteration of Ayressa who loses Gale - either to the Orb or Sneaky!God syndrome but I still think that it has a place with Ayressa getting a happy ending.
Your turn.

Sneaky God Gale Still Loves You
I want to take a moment to offer some reassurance to any of my fellow Galemancers who got the worst Gale romance ending—the infamous ‘Sneaky God Gale.’ (credit to @airydandelion, who I believe first coined the term and who did a ton of valuable research as noted at the end of this post!)
This ending happens when you think you’ve convinced Gale not to ascend. You turned down his offer for godhood in the boat! You didn’t push him towards the crown at all (or so you thought)! And most importantly, he seemed convinced!!
Then you get to the ending on the docks and suddenly he’s all: “that crown tho…🥵” And he leaves.
Worst of all, he won’t even offer to ascend you at the epilogue party.
So what gives?!
Putting aside that this happens because 1. There are some extremely subtle and not-great dialogue options pushing him towards the crown which should’ve been better written/more obvious, and 2. Gale ‘I’m-many-things-but-not-coy’ Dekarios should have been clearly displaying his intentions towards the crown in order to give fair warning to the player, I do still think we can explain his behavior.
The most important thing to remember is that he is not gaslighting you! He’s not smooching you and giving you those big lovey cow eyes while smugly thinking about how he’s going to dump you.
When Gale offers you godhood in the boat, it’s literally called the ‘Be My God Proposal’ in the data files. It’s a proposal. And what a proposal! Because he’s not just offering you a marriage where it’s a short span of mortal years together until death. He’s offering you a literal eternity together.
…and you turned him down.
You did it for all the right reasons, your heart was in the right place, BUT…Gale is uncertain. He loves you, but do you really love him? Just him? He’s still not sure he’s enough for you. You weren’t vehemently against the crown, you seemed to waffle. And you turned down his proposal…an eternity with him was something you did not wish for…
So when he gets to the brain stem, and then the docks, and he still feels uncertainty in his heart, well—it makes him very easily swayed by the orb’s hunger for the crown.
But he still loves you.
When you get to the epilogue, he doesn’t offer you ascension for the simple reason that you already turned it down. He respects your choice, and he’s not going to try and coax you into it; your desires are different than his, and that makes a life together impossible.
But he still loves you.
Well, but, you argue, why can’t we be together as a mortal and a god? Like Gale was with Mystra?
Tumblr media
He would never expose you to such risk, because he still loves you.
‘Ok fine,’ you say. ‘Sure, he’s still got his kind heart buried underneath the arrogance. But even so, he chose to leave. There’s no absolute, definitive proof that he still loves me!’
Tumblr media
Sneaky God Gale absolutely, 100%, still loves you! So go do yourself (and him) a favor and fix that ending:
You can use this amazing, incredible, fantastic guide created by @airydandelion to ensure you pick the right dialogue choices to get the Gale ending you want!
If you are on a PC and do not want to go back many hours of gameplay to replay/redo the dialogue choices, you can use this mod to convince Gale to stay human with the dice roll at the brain stem.
If you’re on a PS5 (which does not currently have the above mod) my best suggestion is to use the cheaters ring. This is a PS5 mod that essentially lets you cheese all combat and speedrun the game, saving you a ton of time if you need to replay Act 3 in order to get your human Gale.
Whatever you decide to do, you can go forth secure in the knowledge that Gale was 100% truthful when he told you this:
Tumblr media
(One final shoutout: credit to @galebrainrott for their post sharing Gale’s datamined files!)

Cabinet of Oddities (Part 24)
The last of the chaos before his return. You've been warned. Also not sure if anyone is interested but here is the Nana playlist
Summary: “Perhaps one of us should go and find her.” “No, Gale. We stay here.” Shadowheart spoke up. “It’s making a diversion, What’s the worst that could happen?” Gale looked at the main gate. After yesterday he had a feeling that was probably not the best question to ask.
Ao3 link
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Stealthy, sneaky. Part two.” In the early morning, Nana walked into the keep in her human form dressed in heavy plate armour. The group had collected it and brought it back to camp for her to infiltrate the tower to help them get to Gortash. All she had to do was create a diversion so they could get in. They would do the rest, dealing with him and getting the second stone.
“It smells like feet in here.” She muttered to herself as she walked through the main corridor of the tower. “How do I even make a diversion?”
She stood pondering the question, mumbling quietly to herself, and growing frustrated at the weight of the sword on her belt. “No wonder they’re all in such good shape. Maybe I could just throw it at one of them. Gods, it’s heavy.” She shifted the belt around making it easier to carry before heading down a set of stairs.
A guard approached her. “You’re finally here. Been waiting an age for you for now.”
Nana stood wide-eyed. “Uh, yeah. I’m here.”
“Right. Well, you’re on duty. We’ve only got one prisoner so you can just relax for a bit.” He handed her a pile of keys before giving her a second glance. “You’re new here, aren’t you?”
“Yes. First day today actually.”
“Hm. Well, you got lucky with this duty. Normally they set the new recruits to scrub graffiti off the city walls. Must be that pretty face of yours.” He walked off before she could say anything to him, a vacant expression held on her face.
“So do I just wait for him to come back or?” Nana walked the length of the prison, looking into each cell with curiosity. She eventually came to one at the end holding an elven woman. Nana unlocked the cell door and peered her head in. “Your dress is very pretty.”
The woman lifted her head in confusion. “Thanks?”
Nana smiled at her and turned back into the prison, trying to figure out what to do with herself. “So, I’m meant to guard this woman. Wasn’t there something else important I was meant to be doing? Boxes, maybe I can finally find something to eat.”
“I’m sorry to do this to you.”
She turned hearing the voice of the elven woman before the lightning flew past her head hitting the wall behind her. “What was that for!?” Another bolt flew past, and she heard the crumbling of the wall. Nana didn’t stay to ask any more questions and quickly fled, running into the now-opened caverns that had revealed themselves.
-----------------------------------
Gale and the group sat outside the keep waiting for any sign of Nana’s diversion. The guards carried on their patrols as normal, and as time passed, he found himself becoming more and more anxious. “Perhaps one of us should go and find her.”
“No, Gale. We stay here.” Shadowheart spoke up. “It’s making a diversion, What’s the worst that could happen?”
Gale looked at the main gate. After yesterday he had a feeling that was probably not the best question to ask.
------------------------------------
After some time and more confusion, Nana had found herself in a large cavern with pale crystals jutting out of the ground. “Statues and puzzles and paintings. This place is more annoying than the book- Ooo pretty.” She took a few steps forward gazing around the room in amazement at the glittering stones that shot out at various angles. She ignored the first crunch of bone under her foot, but as she stood on the second it rolled under her foot, causing her to peer down. “Oh, that’s probably not good.”
She could sense something trying to bore its way into her head, a loud booming voice of power commanding her body to move.
She tried to cross her arms, the metal making it nearly impossible. “Could you not do that? It’s crowded enough up there.” The feeling ceased, instead being replaced with a deep rumbling in the ground underneath. She watched as the bones vibrated beneath her feet before shifting together in front of her, the pile growing larger and larger, merging into one coherent form. And to think I need your help to defeat the Netherbrain…
She frowned at the mindflayer's voice in her head, backing up a little towards the door she had just entered through. “Shut up.” As the bones took shape, she took a moment to be thankful for the fact that she was in full plate armour. That was until its form began to resemble that of a dragon. She quickly went for her bow only for a steel joint to catch as she bent her arm. “Shit, sword it is.” Grabbing the sword proved an easier feat but it was so heavy she could barely swing it instead choosing to fling it limply towards the dragon. Nana missed by a wide margin and watched as the blade hit one of the rocks causing it to explode. The force of the blast knocked her back and with it started a chain reaction around the cavern, more and more crystals exploding, fragments flying towards her and the undead dragon that now stood tall and ready to kill.
----------------------------------------
It was the subtle tremor that was the first sign something had happened within the keep. The next was the sound of the guards running inside urgently. Gale was quick to stand, looking to the others wondering if this was the chance they had been waiting for. Another tremor, this time more forceful and longer lasting. He turned to the others. “The diversion?”
They nodded in agreement and together started to run, heading directly to the quarters of Gortash. As they hit the main corridor, the ground shook causing them to lose balance. Guards ran past them ignoring their presence, all heading in the same direction, all yelling various orders and questions. A dragon?
---------------------------------------------
Nana had managed to escape the main chamber, splinters of crystal stabbing into the chest plate. She wanted to move quickly but the armour slowed her down. She morphed body parts as she ran, shaking off the various pieces in turn. “No wonder Karlach doesn’t wear this shit.” She could feel the static energy of the beast behind her, shattering the walls, the occasional blast of energy flying past her and destroying the various ruins that lay ahead. She went without direction, hoping that she would come across an exit or that the dragon would grow bored of its hunt.
It was then she heard the shouting of the guards, seeing the face of the poor soldier who had given her the prison keys earlier. “You there!”
She kept going, knocking him out of the way. “Sorry. Can’t stop. Dragon.”
He watched her dart past. “No. Wait, what do you mean-” The sound of the roar cut off all other noises and the guards stood in shock as they watched the Waiting Storm charge towards them. A few tried to swing swords and battle the thing down, only to be knocked down with ease as it continued on its one path after the changeling.
She kept running into the keep, finally shaking off the last piece of armour and dumping it in the stairwell. Her cotton clothes clung to her with sweat, and she gasped in the fresh air. Some of Gortash’s constructs stomped past her alongside more guards with faces of confusion at the sounds they were hearing, the sounds of shouting and thunder. “They can handle this…I hope.”
She made her way hastily through the chaos and out of the keep back to safety
-----------------------------------------------
Gale cleared the dust off his robes as they approached the tents of their camp. They’d been successful with their mission thanks to the guards being distracted by something in the prisons. And yet not once since Nana’s departure had they seen her. Even after the battle he had expected her to appear in the keep and yet again she had been absent. He eagerly looked around for her and breathed a heavy sigh of relief when he saw her exit her tent, her face smeared in soot and her red hair matted.
She quickly spotted him and ran over, her arms wide in expectation of a hug. He grabbed her in close, not wishing to let her go, the thoughts that he might have lost her becoming too much to bear. “You’re alive, you’re okay.”
She nestled her face in his neck. “Yeah, a dragon isn’t going to stop me any time soon.”
He pushed her away a fraction to get a good look at her. “A dragon, you say? Nana, how in the hells, did you come across a dragon of all things? You were only meant to make a small diversion.”
Her eyes grew wide at him. “Diversion! That’s what I forgot to do!”

Been sick and super fuzzy and not up for Tactics, so I started a new game. Fire sorceress resistant Dark Urge.
It’s my first durge game and my GOD.
Some notes:
-Do NOT fantasize about shit as a dark urge. (Sorry about the hand, Gale)*
-trying to knock Alfira out so I wouldn’t kill her was SO stressful cause the scene triggered at level two for some reason and it took me a few tries to find a way to take her out in one turn. I ended up casting sleep on her so Astarion could do enough sneaky damage.
-but then I got to kill a dragonborn bard with no pants who sounded like Strawberry Shortcake for some reason, so it all worked out.
-also got a murder gremlin butler and a cool new cloak.
-Durge is so relatable though. “I’m awake, mostly.” “Mind’s never quiet.” “I have such a headache.” SAME GIRL, SAME.
-In that vein (ha), I know people have mentioned this, but it’s genuinely upsetting to tell the companions “hey my mind is filled with murder” and have them be like “it’s fine.”
-I KILLED SOMEONE IN MY SLEEP. MAYBE WE SHOULD MAKE SOME CONNECTIONS HERE IDK
-My durge is a tiefling, cause fire powers, but I gave her shorter horns cause I thought it would be fun to make her look like the devil. And now when she gets That Look, she’s literally this emoji: 😈
-Lastly, my favorite little Durge line yet is when we recruit Astarion and you think about what a pretty, perfect corpse he would make. There’s something very satisfying about it.
*I reloaded because I was tramatized lol, so he’s safe now
