I like to think that Wally, Bart and Ace are massive sneaker heads. They aren't into the fashionable sneakers though, they like the sneakers with the 4 inch triple plated soles that got banned from sports for being too good.

Can they wear them? No, of course not. They wear super cheap sneakers and boots because they burn through shoes faster than you can blink. If they bought the super fancy banned sneakers they would shred them in seconds.

They respect them though. They admire from a distance. They know they can't touch the thing they love without destroying it.

i'm sorry but most sneakers in lolita are soooooo ugly 😭 like they really only look good in sweet coords and only when the sneakers themselves are cute and match the coord. not saying that people shouldn't wear sneakers with their coords because i know for many it's an accessibility thing but like, can we normalise making cute shoe covers or something? or at least like, upcycle your ugly, plain sneakers with some lace, bows, frills and charms?? it kills me to see an adorable coord then you get to the shoes and it's an ugly pair of grey sneakers. customisation is already a big part of lolita so I feel like we should be extending that effort to our footwear too. we can have comfort AND style, we really don't have to choose!!!!!

gray ily…. there are in fact!!!! rex loves summertime ophie….. wearing skirts and dresses and sandals, just a little more carefree. a little more relaxed. a little more well rested. he just loves the flowing skirts and little tops……. going to dinner after a beach day……

but during the year he has two favorite outfits in rotation…. school year is mostly jeans and tops. always high heels no matter what…. these are definitely friday night going out outfits but they make him constantly do double takes…… (he also has on more than one occasion flung me over his shoulder to carry me home because i wasn’t walking fast enough)

and last but not least……. anything off the shoulder makes him go insane. like nearly unable to function. it’s the collarbones and the shoulders…..

safe to say the closet is endless….. nothing gets thrown out or donated because what if the daughters want to wear them???? rex has emergency out first at his house, which are just a few tshirts, two pairs of jeans, socks and sneakers. he’s concerned about when we move in together because my closet is not kept up to his level of tidiness. he comes over one day to help and realizes it’s never clean because there’s literally not room for anything.
