A 2023 retrospective

2023 was a very good year for me fandom-wise!

I wrote a lot of Snarriet fics, and some Harrymort things. I kept working on my long-running Harrymort fic Precious Horcrux, I created a second account on AO3 for my fics with a non-genderbent Harry, and I even wrote fanfiction of a fanfiction, because I love Certain Dark Things so much I just had to write in its universe.

But the most memorable part of the year by far was all the friends I made! @chipartwork with whom I clicked instantly and who is the sweetest bean, @racfoam and our shared love for all things Harrymort, @snapesmorningcoffee lover of cats and so kind, @hirukochan you brilliant (evil) writer, and all the folks over at the Snarriet Discord server! Love you all <3

What's in store for 2024?

More Snarriet, of course. More Harrymort, too. I don't think I'll be done with Precious Horcrux by the end of the year, but we'll see!

Last year I listed three fics I wanted to write, and I only managed one out of the three, because I keep having new fic ideas that pop up to the forefront of my mind and scream at me to get written.

Let's try this again. Three fics I want to get to this year:

a Cat!Snape fic that takes place post-war. Harrie is the DADA teacher and everyone thinks Snape died in the Shack.

a Veela!Snape fic, with the Forced Bonding trope, and Harrie saving Snape from going to Azkaban with a radical method (having Snape's baby).

a Muggle AU with Priest!Snape and Devil!Riddle.

2023 in restrospect

@loneamaryllis did it and that looked like fun so here I am stealing it.

2023....wow...that was something.

I wrote over a million words this year 🤯. Lots of that plain smut.

I continued a oneshot I had posted in 2022, that I wrote in 2020 during lockdown because I was craving some Snape but couldn't find the dynamic I was looking for. I am very glad I decided to fuck it and just upload it to see what'll happen. Who would have guessed this??

I fell headfirst back into my old Snape obsession and from there into Snarriet and currently I am falling into a Voldemort obsession lol

I have written seven oneshots. I've never written oneshots before, I am not good at them and it was my personal challenge to have another go at it. I think they turned out good enough.

I finished two fics!

I am still writing six though 😅

My goal is to finish 'your tears are of no relevance to me' and it's alternate storylines 'Dove and the Serpent', perhaps even in the next two months, no pressure or promises, I'll see if the story will want to be finished by then.

And 'Most Unexpected Turn of events'!

After that I'll finally tackle 'Carrying Atlas'. I love that story but the plot needs some work and for that I need brain space 'your tears' isn't willing to relinquish yet.

I hope to also find the will to continue 'A Servant of Death' and finish my Rings of Power fic 'Strawberries and Sin'. It's fully plotted, motivation has just been very low for those particular fics.

My goal is also to use shorter titles for my fics because this is kinda getting ridiculous!

I have met so many lovely people since returning to writing fanfiction and also really interacting in fandom spaces for the first time. I met the lovely @snapesmorningcoffee whom I already love dearly and of course @loneamaryllis, @chipartwork @rose-colored-glasses7, @tuesdayspectacular, and @smilingformoney.

What's next in 2024?

Well I doubt it'll be another million words 😅 that's a crazy huge amount to write!!

I hope I'll get to writing to that fic surrounding the youngest MalfoyXVoldemort(XTom Riddle) story and some of the Snarriet oneshots I have been planning. Especially that very naughty Muggle AU, James and Lily are alive and Harrie decides she wants to fuck her hot 'uncle' Sev and a Muggle AU, studentxteacher fic with Snape and Harrie shagging in his car after detention!

I didn’t know what that meant, so he explained it to me.” Her lower lip scraped between her teeth as she met his eyes. “He said you cancelled your classes so you could stay with me the whole time…until all the Dark magic was gone.”

“Your cursed injuries were quite serious,” he said stiffly, uncomfortable with the wondering way she was looking at him. “You needed to be monitored, with potions administered at specific intervals. The Headmaster is too important of a man to play nursemaid, and Madam Pomfrey couldn’t very well forego her own rest and other duties in order to constantly keep her eye on you—what are you doing?” he demanded as Miss Potter walked around the table to stand close beside him. 

Quashing the ridiculous urge to move away, for he was not afraid of some slip of a girl, he pivoted to glare directly down into her upturned, smiling face—and went rigid when she flung her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly. 

“Thank you for saving me, Professor.”

Completely taken aback, he stood helplessly beneath the onslaught of her innocent and affectionate gratitude. Then, not knowing what else he could possibly do in this perplexing situation, he awkwardly rested his hands against her, almost returning her embrace.

My second quarto! And i am so damn proud myself about it!

First i finally managed to do gold foil good way!!

Second the edges!!! Finally i made it without guillotine! And it look okay!!

I get inspo from jmbinding ‘s cover and typeset but i made my own typeset. 😌😌

The fiction is belong to spicedlantern i love her fictions so much, and i am so glad i able to bind her recent fiction! You can read freely on ao3 and i highly recommend it. It is pre-snarriet and not include any smut. It is psychological horror and written amazingly!
