Magic & Memories and Mockeries

Chapter 5 of Notice by SeverusSimp

For today's art we have "Magic"🪄, I know my titles are getting worse lol but I'm trying my best. I really just wanted a cool Snape in the midst of a smoky battlefield vibe so ta da!

Story wise I bring you chapter #5 of Notice: Memories and Mockeries. It's a Snarriet fic where Snape's been in a long term coma and Harrie Potter (Fem) has been fancying the man for ages. After he wakes she's made his Auror on duty but spends most of her time doing something NSFW. If you're curious the links in the title both up top and here.

For this new year you get Fanart from the fabulous Snarry fic "Lucky Number Seven" by Dawnoftomorrow on AO3. I adore the entire fic and their stuff is some of my favorite which you might know from my "Blowing Smoke" Fanart but this new one just makes my heart squeeze💚

A 2024 retrospective

2024 was another nice year for me when it comes to fandom and writing!

I remain firmly enthralled by the Snarry/Snarriet pairing, as I scarcely wrote anything else. I wrote so many fics, mainly oneshots. In the long fic corner, I'm still writing Precious Horcrux. I might be done by next year? Then there was Harrie's Cat, featuring Cat Snape, and Apple of his Eye, the dirtybadwrong fic where Voldemort adopts Harriet but then she decides he's hot (it ends in Harriet/Voldemort/Snape situation). Also Blood Red, a Harrymort Muggle AU with serial killer Voldemort.

I started writing Gen this year, to my great surprise. Me, writing fics with no smut and no pairing??? Yeah. I wrote Voldemort vs Period Cramps, for fun, and then I got inspired by the idea of Voldemort as a cat, and I'm 100k deep into that idea and only in year 5 (heeelp).

It was also the first year I participated in fests! I wrote a fic for the Snarry-A-Thon where Harry and Snape find themselves stuck as cats (yes I love cats), and two fics for the Snarry AUctoberfest, one Snarry and one Snarriet. It was very fun and I'll probably participate in fests again next year.

In non-HP stuff, I wrote one little oneshot about the Pendragon series where I genderbent the hero (as I like do to) and a Skyrim fic about a vampire that had been haunting me for a while.

The Snarriet Discord server continues to be a haven of friendship and fun conversations. I invite you to come and join us if you haven't already!

Looking back at the goals I had set for myself for 2024, I again only wrote one of the three fics I wanted. The problem is that I keep getting ideas for fics!

In 2025, I would like to write:

the fic where Snape is a vampire I originally planned to write in 2023

a fic where Harriet seduces Snape whenever he sees her in photos (she only does sexy things when he's looking, everyone else see a normal Harriet smiling and waving)

a long fic inspired by Certain Dark Things: an AU where Harriet was raised by the Flamels. She goes to Beauxbâtons and has very different adventures from canon.

We'll see what happens!

Day 25: Holiday (national holiday)

It's Christmas and Severus is adamant he won't be spending it with Harry. Then Harry finds out Severus has family and gets invited to spend Christmas with them. Love all the dialogs in this fic, and the way Harry and Snape get together!

Day 26: a fic under 5k

Reader is a teacher at Hogwarts during the year Snape is Headmaster. She persuades him to be merciful to the students by using her body. A hot, smutty oneshot!

Day 27: smokin’ hot fic

Hyacinth Wild by @danpuff-ao3 (Harry/Snape, E, 5k)

Harry gets dosed by sex pollent at a party and seeks out Snape. Cue a lot of hot sex. The fic has a non-linear narrative, cutting between past and present, and I find it greatly enhances the hotness of the smut. Danpuff always write such hot smut!

Day 28: a fic over 100k

Fuel to Fire, Part 1: Chord Left by @gigantomachy1916 (Female!Harry/Snape, M, 110k, WIP)

This is a fanfic of a fanfic, but you don't need to read the fanfic it's inspired from to enjoy it! We have a Slytherin Female Harry (Mary) in her third year, grappling with a crush on Snape, her responsibilities as Heir to her house, and the problems of being a teenage girl. There's no romance yet but the fic will go on to cover all seven years so it will happen. A nice fic to sink your teeth into for those hungry for long Snarriet fics!

Day 29: a fic rated E

The Afterlight by @perverse-idyll (Harry/Snape, E, 70k, WIP)

The writing in this fic is incredible, and anything I'll say won't ever do it justice. There are sentences in there that are permanently burned into my mind. Snape is delightfully intense, and his relationship with Harry is layered and deeply sexual in the best way. Also, glove kink (yum).

Day 30: fic on your TBR that you’re most excited to read

Hinterland by NoFootsprintsInSand (Hermione/Tom Riddle, Hermione/Snape, E, 53k, WIP)

The tags make me think I will greatly enjoy this fic... Tomione with time travel and mutual obsession while Snape is also there? Sounds delicious.

Day 31: Most recent fic you loved

Hauntingly by @obsidianpen (Harry/Tom Riddle, Harry/Voldemort, E, 434k)

This fic has the perfect title because it's still haunting me even though I finished it weeks ago. The writing is pitch-perfect, the characters are all wonderfully three-dimensional (special mention to Snape, who is smart and incisive and powerful and so flawed), and the plot is riveting. I loved the ending as well!
