“Yes, well.” Father Fell decided to shake Mr. Tyler’s hand and squeezed it just that bit harder. The look on Mr. Tyler’s face betrayed his surprise at Father Fell’s strong, insistent grip. “Perhaps those that prickle the most are in dire need of the message. Did you need a hug?”

In all his 6000 years on earth, the number of times the demon Crowley set foot on the consecrated ground of a church (or any similar building) can be counted even by a not so sharp first grader. On the one hand, that is because he really doesn’t like the burning pain under his soles too much, on the other hand, because he just never felt the need to enter a building dedicated to praying to the one entity that stopped listening to him thousands of years ago.

That’s why it comes as a surprise, mostly to himself, that he finds himself walking into a church right now. Well, not so much walking as hopping from one foot to the other because he cannot stand the pain, but you get the idea.
