Hello! I was wondering if you know all the different lines of BCLs and if you'd be able to list them? I'd like to breed them to preserve them in captivity one day but I want to make sure the buyers I do buy from aren't just making up the names of lines.
Lines can be tough. In order to preserve or refine any of them you need to know what traits define the line and then decide what you're pairing for.
Russo, Harding, Edelbrock, Meltzer(?) were all started from imports.
Besette are selectively bred Russo.
Hauge and Eison line animals contributed to the Binneg line.
Denton created his line from Russo/Meltzer/Rosen/etc and he put in the work to develop it.
At the end of the day, lines are just polygenic traits that people before you have refined (or not). More important than keeping them 'pure' is being aware of the traits you're reproducing for. Instead of chucking two crap version of a line that someone may or may not have slapped their name on, it's better to find animals that will work well together in a project.

I really wish hognose breeders at expos would stop telling new/aspiring breeders “they can’t become gravid without brumation.”  Not only can they, but it’s fairly commonplace. They are indigenous to areas that may not experience those extreme lows that trigger brumation instinct.
Just had someone who owns a female hog I produced a few years ago come to me hysterical because a breeder told her “no way she’s gravid, you didn’t brumate,” so she didn’t watch her as closely over the holidays. Lost an entire 20+ egg clutch, because she didn’t think to look and the eggs got laid on the cool side of the enclosure.
Some of that’s on the owner, you should be checking on your animals daily, but like, some of it is also on the other breeder for straight up lying.
Especially considering that the hog in question was produced without brumation. I’ve never brumated a hognose in my life.

As a female athlete myself, I just want to quickly appreciate how George R.R Martin writes his women who fight. It’s never, “she wanted to be a warrior so she worked harder than everyone and eventually she could beat all the boys.” He actually gives his characters strengths and weaknesses—as well as cultural ties to fighting— and he makes these traits enhance the already existing plot lines these characters follow. The mental game is also always just as important, if not more, than the physical game, which I’ve found is true in sports and probably much more true in actual life-threatening situations.
Arya is a small child. She’s nine, she’s skinny; she would probably never excel at being a knight, so instead she learns a different type of fighting. She’ll never overpower anyone, but she can be quick and sneaky and use her left hand which most people don’t know how to fight against. Also, I would argue that Syrio’s teachings about “looking with your eyes” were far more important to her than the physical part of water dancing. Most of the time she isn’t using her skills to directly fight people, but to run away, to spy on people, to catch food and survive. Syrio is her friend, Needle is Jon Snow’s smile, etc. Arya learning how to use her stature to her advantage is part of a greater connection to her identity and the people who helped her.
Brienne is stronger than most men, but she faces constant misogyny because of that (which is all too realistic). She constantly faces internal battles with her own self-image and harassment wherever she goes. She gets taught to use men’s pride and anger to her advantage:
“Old Ser Goodwin was long in his grave, yet she could hear him whispering in her ear. Men will always underestimate you, he said, and their pride will make them want to vanquish you quickly, lest it be said that a woman tried them sorely. Let them spend their strength in furious attacks, whilst you conserve your own. Wait and watch, girl, wait and watch (AFFC Brienne 7)”
Finally, “no chance, and no choice” is her most memorable line for a reason. It’s not her martial prowess that makes her a great character; it’s her bravery and honor.
Cultural ties are also so important to the reasons many women in the series fight. Asha is Balon’s last remaining child when all her brothers are dead and gone. Of course she knows how to fight and sail. Her tension with Theon is less about her showing off and more about her proving how much she actually knows her people while he doesn’t (of course that isn’t Theon’s fault but that’s a whole other post). The Mormont women learned to fight because they historically had to fight off invaders; the Sand snakes’ skills show their connection to Oberyn, etc.
Anyway I just love how George uses fighting to enhance his characters’ personalities and not define them. None of them are physically or mentally infallible, and none are exempt from misogyny. They just learned to do something that empowers and protects them despite society’s expectations. George’s writing of women is definitely not perfect, but this is something I really appreciate.

Yuu walks into the Lounge to see Jade trying to manhandle a eel form Floyd as Azul stands nearby with a few buckets. They freeze when they see Yuu and Floyd scrambles out of Jade's hold and slithers over to Yuu to hide behind her. She gets a crash course in learning what Vil uses for his facial cream. Yuu gets Azul to give her the buckets, picks up Floyd, and says she'll be back.
Yuu returns with twice as many buckets, leaving Azul stunned and asking how she managed that.
"I just massaged him. No need for wringing him dry or anything. He had a lotta knots in his back."
Jade and Azul stare at her before Jade asks:
"...Can I be chosen next?"
Floyd ends up being very docile and out of it for the next few days.

do you think about how charles looks at edwin first and so much sooner before their hug in the last episode because edwin's safety and freedom is far more important than his own on a daily basis or are you normal?

Levi: "I don't understand why you like someone as pathetic as me, I'm not that good at anything other then being a nasty useless otaku, (insert more self degrading here)."
Mc: *blank faced, moving sneakily close to Levi and picks him up bridal style*
Mc: "Snake <3."
Levi: *Stunned silent, he doesn't move for a few moments, then his tail curls around Mc's leg, and leans into their touch.*
Levi: "Y-yeah...."

TBOSAS has me thinking about how Finnick was likely one of the only people alive who knew even some of the story of what happened in the 10th Hunger Games and after. It’s apparent that Snow or the Capitol in general buried any record of the 10th games and Lucy Gray to save face.
However, who knew all of Snow’s darkest secrets and dirty laundry? Finnick. It’s reasonable to assume he probably learned at least part of the story. Not only that but Mags won the 11th games, directly after Lucy Gray’s Games. It is canon that there wasn’t much coverage of the games in the districts but I’m sure even if she didn’t watch them there were likely rumors about it during the next game. And when Snow reappeared as the president she likely remembered his role. And as Finnick’s mentor and mother figure she probably told him a lot.
There’s no real point to this information but I just think it’s very interesting that despite how hard Snow worked to bury his past it probably still lived on. And despite his efforts to control, oppress, and abuse the victors, it was one of these victors who knew his dark past. It was one of the people he tried to control that eventually gained an upper hand over him and helped play a big role in his downfall.

where can i find your pricelist? 👉👈
I don't really have one at the moment, I only had two litters this year. I think the pet only babies will be $100 + shipping.
I did have Denton longis this year, het aneries will likely be 550 + shipping and visuals 850 + shipping. The odds gods weren't with me and the litter is mostly males (the 6 aneries are male, 4 out of 9 hets are male). They should be stunning, though.

Random Q: Have you seen A Perfect Circle in concert? Snake related Q: Will you have any aneery longicauda in the future?
I haven't, but I have seen both Tool and Puscifer live a few times (they're Maynard James Keenan's other two bands for those who might be unfamiliar), and I would love to see APC one day too! MJK puts on a stellar show!
(Anon I am going to assume you noticed most of my snakes are named after his music hehe 🤗)
I was REALLY hoping to have anery longis this year, but my anery girl slugged out 😔 I'm giving her this next season off for some R&R, fingers crossed it'll go better next time!

the thing i loved so much about the tbosas book that the movie didn't manage to get across is that snow had so many chances to become a decent human being. at every point in his life there was a person who loved him and who wanted him to be good and who showed him how to be good. and snow always refuses. he always dismisses them. tigris, sejanus, the bar owner, lucy gray. they all showed him the good of humanity. and he turned his back on all of them and chose to be evil instead. the book showed perfectly that being evil is a choice a person has to make. that some people aren't "born" evil and some people are "born" good. we are all good at our core.

I'm just thinking about people who say Snow despises Katniss because he sees Lucy Gray in her...but what feels more painful to me is that Katniss (and Peeta to a certain degree) not only embodies the qualities that the capitol despises the most regarding the districts, but Snow can see so many people involved with those 10th hunger games tributes in her:
He sees Lamina looking at Marcus in pain and killing him out of sheer mercy in Katniss shooting Cato as a mercy kill.
He sees Reaper Ash's burial and defiance by giving his fellow districts a dignified death and sepulture when Katniss remained by Rue's side and decorated her grave with flowers.
He kind of sees Coral, albeit in a much more ironic way, this girl who was ruthless and embraced such violence with the purpose to protect herself and her district partner, the one she nurses back to health and refuses to leave behind, with the wish to have either one of them survive the games, only to realise it was all for nothing once she loses him and is about to die, when she loses her frail little sister at the hands of District 13.
He sees Sejanus standing for the revolution and fighting for others in detriment of his own safety, maybe not even taking the best judgement at times, in Katniss and not only her protection of Peeta, Rue, Mags, Wiress, but also her general place in the rebellion and restless pursuit of saving Peeta.
He sees Lucy Gray, who stood by Jessup's side until his last breath and refused to abandon him, that never conformed to what the capitol expected from her, and her long lasting and unbreakable heritage and print in Katniss' during the entire saga, but especially in the song that haunted him once as a reminder of the monster he truly is, and that came back to haunt him again in his downfall.
But most importantly, he sees himself, a man defined by his sense of survival, by his practicality and selfpreservation, in this less than 18 year old girl, and that's what terrifies him the most about that district 12 girl: the fact she forces him to confront that he caused so much pain out of a hunger that was never justified, that he could have made SO many things differently, and that most importantly, different to what he would try to say to himself, there was always another choice, and he might have not chosen the correct one every single time it came to deciding what path to take.

Thinking about how in the beginning of the series, Sir Pentious just wanted to be recognized(by the Vees, by the sinners of Hell). He just wanted people to see him and his worth.
And at the end of the season he's redeemed, has the eyes of Heaven itself on him, and has the literal King Of Hell salute to him
