Peacekeeper!Coriolanus Snow x Nurse!Reader
WARNING ⚠️ Coriolanus Snow is in himself his own warning. Obsession, stalking, slight self-harm, cussing, manipulation, allusions to murder - getting rid of a body, allusions to panic attacks, allusions to anxiety attacks, allusions to mental breakdown, obsessed!Coriolanus
After ‘taking care of’ his once lover, Lucy Gray, and dumping the guns in the lake- to sink to the bottom and never be seen again, Coriolanus returned to base. He looked like shit whenever he entered the clinic, seeking treatment for the snakebite to his inner forearm. A snakebite that he's convinced himself is poisonous; is slowly killing him.
You just happen to be on duty that day, so the Matron of Base D-12’s clinic (who's in charge of the Nursing Core and Medic Unit), sent you to take care of Private Coriolanus Snow. She even went on to tell you how it was such an honor to tend to him since he was the son of the legendary Capitol war hero General Crassus Snow: the fallen Commander of 12.
You honestly didn't give a fuck who's son he was. In fact, your father Colonel Javani Halvir served underneath General Crassus Snow until his untimely death at the hands of rebels in the woods outside of 12. Like who cares who his daddy is. Your Colonel dad made you sign up for the nursing core after you graduated as punishment for being ranked 25th in the Academy and not being able to be a mentor in this year's shit show of the Hunger Games.
You're glad that you didn't have to mentor one of those poor kids. Mentoring seemed to be bad for Capitolite kids’ health since a handful died.
So…
Yea…
You and the other kids that weren't in the top 24 came out safe, but try telling your dad that.
Mhm…
Your dad even went on and on and on about how his old comrade's son was the top of your class, so why couldn't you have made one of the other 23 spots. Blah, blah, blah…
You hung around different circles then Coriolanus Snow did. In fact, you hung around Odysseus Odair, Livinius ‘Vinny’ Cardew, and Hilarious Heavensbee’s cousin Hector ‘Heccie’ (who had to repeat his senior year at the Academy 4 times, but at least he graduated this year with passing grades at the bottom of the class) and a couple of girls that weren't in the A-list clicky ass bitch squad.
That disappointed your father, the Colonel, as well.
So, yeah, that's why you're a nurse in training aka a nurse’s aide currently sliding open the curtain to Private Snow's bed in the large one room infirmary that could hold at least 2 dozen men- easily.
“So, according to the sign in form you've been snake bit?” You ask Coriolanus, reading his impeccable handwriting off of the form that's on the clipboard the Matron gave you.
“Yes,” Coriolanus frantically nodded. “I think it's poisonous; that I'm dying.”
Oh God, the son of the Almighty General Crassus Snow’s a dramatic baby boy. Oh, wouldn't your dad just crack up laughing if he knew that.
Obviously, if his snake bite was poisonous he'd be dead in the woods right now. If it was a coral snake he'd be shit out of luck since they're one of the most potent venomous snakes in Panem. And if it was a rattler his arm would be swollen 3 times its size and it'd be puffy and oozy, he'd probably be drooling and bleeding from the mouth and wheezing too.
If it was a water moccasin…well…he'd be utterly fucked. His arm would swell and become discolored, he’d have immediate and extreme pain, and he'd have rapid; difficulty breathing, and decreased blood pressure. Most likely would be dead before he made it a few yards away from whatever lake he found while hiking in the woods. And if it was a copperhead, well he would've gone into shock right away; his lymph nodes would've swelled up along with the arm he was bitten on. His arm would also be numb, so would his mouth, tongue, scalp, and feet- all from the poison.
Hey, that's what you read in that District 12 first aide book you were forced to read for the Nursing Core. According to that book Private Snow would be dead before he got out of the woods cause you need to get those poisonous snake bites treated right away with anti-venon or you'll croak. And you're not even sure if the infirmary even has that stuff.
Anywho…
Idiot was bitten by a damn garter snake. A harmless slithering thing, but he thinks he's going to die.
Placing the clipboard down on Coriolanus' bedside table, you go over to the counter and grab some gloves. “I'm going to take a look at your arm, okay?” You tell him while putting on the gloves.
Instead of saying something normal like ‘okay’ or ‘yes’ or even ‘thank you’, Coriolanus Snow asks, “You look familiar. Do I know you, Nurse?...”, as you round his bed and reach for his bitten forearm.
“I’m a Nurse's Aide since I still have a few weeks left of training.” you tell Private Snow while you hold his forearm in your hands and inspect the bite. “My name's Y/N Halvir, we went to the Academy together.” You tell him, noticing that he doesn't have fang marks but deep, jagged teeth marks in a circular shape on the inside of his forearm.
“Oh, that's why you look familiar.” The platinum blonde smiles a bit too wide, too toothily, at you. Goddamn, his pearly whites are on full display with his manic smile and it's a bit unsettling.
“I shouldn't look that familiar to you, I was ranked 25th and hung out with a different crowd then you did Mr. Golden Boy.” You dryly tell him, while going over to the cabinet behind his bed to grab some antiseptic wipes, ointment, and bandages. “Oh, and you're not going to die. The snake bite’s not poisonous.”
“Are you sure it's not poisonous? I felt like I was going to die. My heart's been racing, I'm sweaty, I even saw things.” Private Snow objects, so desperate to be right about having been bit by a poisonous reptile, as you place all of your supplies on his bedside table.
“Trust me Private Snow-” You begin only for him to interrupt you with, “Please, darling, call me Coryo.”, as you're tearing open the alcohol wipe pack.
Coriolanus thinks you're the prettiest thing he's ever seen. Much prettier than that lying, sniveling, singing whore that was going to rat him out to the mayor to save her own ass; who he shot in the woods. Oh, how could he have overlooked your beauty for so many years? You attended the Academy with him; had classes with him and he never noticed you until now.
Now!
Now that you're both in this hellhole of a backwater bumfuck district.
“Anyways, you weren't poisoned and I believe you had a panic attack due to stress and high adrenaline.” You honestly tell Coriolanus, grabbing his forearm in your hand and cleaning it with the antiseptic wipe.
“Are you sure, darling?” Coriolanus asks, watching you discard the wipe and grab the tube of ointment.
“Yes, Private Snow, I'm sure.” You respond, opening up the tube. Squeezing some ointment on your finger and rubbing it into his wound, you explained, “Venomous snakes have bites that leave two fang marks while non venomous snakes, like harmless garter snakes, leave ragged teeth marks in a circular shape when they bite.” Grabbing the bandage roll, you unravel a piece long enough to wrap around his forearm. “You have circular teeth marks for your snake bite, but I'm afraid they're deep and will leave a nasty scar.”
“Of course, it'll leave a nasty scar.” Private Snow bitterly sighs to himself as you bandage up his wound.
When you're done you tell him, “You're all patched up and ready to go, Private Snow.”, while throwing away the trash from the antiseptic wipes.
You didn't wait for his response, you just took the clipboard and left his curtained off area in order to file the report on his treatment.
You seem to have had an effect on Private Snow. The platinum blonde found himself obsessing over you. Yes, he was obsessing and not daydreaming when it came to you.
He was so desperate to see you that he began getting hurt’ as an excuse to go to the infirmary and make small talk with you. Oh, you lost track of the twisted ankles and sprained wrists Private Snow claimed to have. But every time it turned out to be nothing.
He was just faking it to see you. To have your touch on his skin. Even if you were just feeling his wrist or ankle for an injury, Coriolanus still felt that your skin touching his was intimate.
And talk about Coriolanus faking injuries just to see you…
“Is Nurse Y/N in? I need her to look at my finger; it's cut really bad.” Coriolanus asked the clerk at the check in desk. He’s hoping you're on duty today, otherwise he ripped his finger open on a knife during KP duty for nothing.
“I'll get you to a bed and then I'll send her to tend to your finger.” The clerk at the check in desk told Private Snow before bringing him to the beds in the treatment center.
It only took a few minutes for you to be briefed on Snow's problem and sent back to treat him.
“So, Private Snow-” You began and you pulled back the curtain around Coriolanus' bed, only for him to interrupt you with, “I passed my officer exams and ship out soon for training, so my paperwork should say Officer Snow or Petty Officer Snow.”
What? He's leaving this shithole for training? “Why aren't you being trained here?” You ask, scanning thru his clipboard to find his rank. Low and behold he's now marked as Elite Officer Snow. “Never mind, don't answer that. You're marked down as Elite Officer Snow on your form.”
“Oh, yes, did I forget to mention that I passed the Elite Officer's Exam?” Your accident prone patient cheekily asked as you set your clipboard down on his bedside table.
“I'm an army brat; my father's a Colonel, so if you're trying to impress me with your bragging about your new Elite Officer's ranking and soon to be departure then save your breath- it's not working.” You tell Coriolanus while grabbing some medical grade gloves from a nearby cabinet and putting them on.
Coriolanus quirks a brow. “Your father's a military man?”
“Yep.” You pop your tongue. You pick up his hand and start to examine his cut finger. “Enough about me, let's get a look at your cut finger to see if it needs stitches or not.”
The cut doesn't seem to be too deep. In fact, it looks more like a surface wound. A simple knick.
“Your finger just needs cleaning and bandaged, Private Snow. Lucky for you, stitches aren't needed.” You tell your patient before going to the cabinet to grab the supplies you need to tend to his cut finger.
“Please, call me Coryo.” He puts, watching you head over to him with antiseptic wipes and a bandage.
“What can I say, Nurse Halvir, I’m a very clumsy soldier.” The platinum blonde peacekeeper shrugged with a lopsided smirk painting his lips. “But, since you're calling me Coryo now it's only fair that I call you Y/N.” He says as you open an antiseptic wipe and start cleaning his finger with it.
“I guess I can call you that, considering you're in here every other day.” You relant, placing the items in your hand on Coryo's bedside table.
"Of course you'd rather call me Y/N then Nurse Halvir." You shake your head while bandaging up his finger.
Coriolanus was transfixed by your name. He adored how it sounds. So beautiful, so sophisticated, so fitting of a Capitolite girl. It'll sound perfect with the Snow surname as well. Yes, Y/N Snow has a ring to it.
“It suits you.” Coryo compliments with a beaming smile.
A smile that sends butterflies soaring in your tummy.
Too bad he's heading out in a few days for 2, otherwise- well, no use in going there.
The following day Coryo showed up with a bouquet of beautiful flowers bound by a lace ribbon. You knew that the florists cost a fortune in 12, so you didn't take his gift lightly. In fact, you gasp and take them from his outstretched hand while telling him, “Coryo, this must've cost you a large chunk of your pay. I-I don't know what to say.”
“Well, usually a thank you is enough, darling.” Coryo quips, the corners of his mouth turned up into a smirk.
Looking between the platinum peacekeeper and the bouquet of mixed flowers in your hand, you smile. “Thank you, Coryo.” Sniffing the fragrance of the flowers, you announce, “They're beautiful and smell lovely.”
“They're nothing compared to the roses my Grandma’am grows in her rooftop garden. I'd like to give you one once we're both back in the Capitol.”
“I don't think that'll be for a long while, Coryo.” You tell him, cradling your bouquet of flowers.
“The Matron told me that you just got off duty, perhaps I could escort you back to your bunk?” Coryo asks with impeccable manners and a charming smile.
“Oh, I'm not at the barracks. I live with my brother in an apartment in the officer's housing unit.” You inform him while leading the way out of the infirmary.
“Your brother's an officer?” Coryo asks, keeping in stride with your steps.
“Yep.” You pop your tongue.
“So, the military’s a family affair for the Halvirs then?” The platinum peacekeeper asked as the two of you continued to walk along the path that would eventually lead to the area of officer apartments.
“My brother's the one that wanted to be a peacekeeper like our father; I was tossed into the nursing core because I ranked 25th in our Academy class and my father was ashamed that I couldn't be a mentor.” You honestly tell the man by your side. You probably shouldn't, but something about him has you opening up. Something you just can't put your finger on.
“How did you rank 25th? You seem very intelligent to me.”
“I don't know and I really don't care, to be honest with you.”
A couple of days after walking you home Coriolanus is set to depart for 2. But he can't leave you. So, with his duffle slung over his shoulder, he tracks down your older brother. It wasn't hard, in fact he was directed to your brother's office right away.
“Officer Halvir, I want to talk to you about your sister, Y/N.” Coriolanus announced as soon as he walked into your brother's office.
“What about her, Snow?” Rein asks, sitting up straighter behind his desk. Don't ask him how he knows, but he's positive that whatever Coriolanus has to talk to him about concerning you’s going to end up with him pulling some strings. He just has a gut feeling that this talk isn't going to be simple.
No, not with the look of infatuation plastered on the platinum blonde's face.
But what your brother thinks is a look of infatuation on Coriolanus' face is actually much darker than that. In fact, the young man didn't have a simple crush on you, but was obsessed with you. Yes, Coriolanus has a deep, soul consuming obsession with you and in his delusional mind you're his girl. His sweet Capitolite girl that he must possess and protect.
Coriolanus stands up straighter as he bluntly tells your older brother, “I want to take her with me. She deserves more than this backwater district. She's too innocent for the likes of this shithole and you know it, Officer Halvir.”
Your brother's face is neutral, but his head is spinning. He agrees with the young man standing before him about you being too innocent, too sweet for life in 12. Some of the things he's seen and had to turn a blind eye to in the coal mining district makes him cringe. He can't imagine what some of those images will do to your disposition.
But your brother knew something that Coriolanus didn't. He was told by Commander Hoff, since the man knew that your father and General Snow were best friends back in the day, that Coriolanus was being sent back to the Capitol as a special request by Dr. Gaul, the Head of the War department herself. So, Rein knows that if Coriolanus takes you with him that he'll be taking you back to the Capitol.
Back home to safety.
“My sister's off today, but if you can convince her to go with you then I'll pull some strings with Hoff.” Your brother tells Coriolanus. Rein only wants what's best for you and in his opinion being in District 12 isn't what's best.
“Thank you, Officer Halvir.”. Coriolanus salutes your brother before taking off to get you.
You're sleeping in whenever a loud banging on your apartment door wakes you up. You groan and roll out of bed, only to slip on your slippers and put on your robe before dragging your groggy ass to the door. You hope that you're not being called in; having your day off revoked.
When you answer the door you're met with the sight of Coryo in his dress uniform, “Come to say goodbye?” You gather from the duffel bag slung over his shoulder.
“No.” He shakes his cap covered head. “I've come to take you with me.”
“What the hell? I can't just go with you.” Was the reaction you had to his answer. One that you thought was crazy.
“I talked to your brother; he agreed to pull some strings for us.”
Of course Rein told Coriolanus that. Your brother didn't want you in the Nursing Core let alone in 12. It put a damper on his lifestyle. With you living with him on base he couldn't spend all of his free time with that girl of his from the Seam. He also had to cut back on his drinking and how much he snuck off base to get plastered at the Hobb, the black market/bar his girl slings drinks at.
Shaking your head, you sigh, “I’m sorry, but I can't leave.”
“Darling, you'll have a much better life if you come with me. We'll be stationed at The Nut and I'm sure the med bay there'll be more than happy to have you on staff.” Coriolanus tells you, his baritone dripping with finesse and delicate craftiness. Bringing his hand up to cup your face, he asks, “Wouldn't you rather come with me and make your father proud that you've been promoted to a nicer district then being stuck here in this backwater shithole to rot and die- to wither up and grow old in?”
“Coriolanus-” You begin to protest only for him to press an unexpected kiss to your lips. A kiss that was hungry and passionate. His lips were eager as they glided over yours. And you, well, your body instantly responded to his kiss. Your lips move in sync with his, a tiny moan escaping your mouth as your hands fist his uniform jacket as an anchor.
You're breathless as he pulls away from the kiss. You've never been kissed like that. In fact, it has your head spinning.
“Please, my sweet girl, come with me.” Coriolanus begs between placing open mouth kisses along your jaw. He stops kissing you, only to press his forehead against yours. “You're my everything, Y/N. I've lost so much in my life, but I can't lose you. Not when I just found you.” His icy eyes looked so vulnerable, like a puppy dog's.
Those words play at your heartstrings. If only you knew that Coriolanus chose them carefully just for that reason; to manipulate you into saying yes. And the look in his eyes, oh that really gutted you too. Another ploy of the platinum blonde's; one you weren't aware of. The boy was quite the actor when it suits him and what he wants.
“Okay. I'll go with you.” You find yourself telling him before you can think better of it.
And in what feels like a whirlwind, Coriolanus is shoving your things into your travel bag while you're getting dressed in your formal Nursing Core uniform. And then he's dragging you down to the station (well, you're literally sprinting so you won't miss the train) to meet Commander Hoff for the send off.
But Commander Hoff tells the two of you that plans have changed that instead of going to 2 you're going home, to the Capitol. Coryo's being happy hearing that, but you're not sure if you're happy about returning to the Capitol. Your father wanted you to serve your country in the Nursing Core in the districts, so returning to the Capitol would surely upset him.
Coriolanus didn't even ask you how you felt about the news. He just kissed you and shoved you onto the train. If only you knew that his sweet manipulations just ball and chained you to him for the rest of your life. Your career as a nurse would never be; you'd be the socialite wife of the man that would become the most dark, cruel, tyrannical leader that the country's ever known.
Too bad he had to be your patient the day he got snake bit in the woods, huh?

Okay! Since Eisoptrophobia is done I wanted to talk about it a little!
This is just gonna be me pointing out some things and the wacky symbolism that was in my head while making it, going page by page.
Title- The title page is an allusion to that one Candy Cadet story (with the kittens and the snake you know the one). The main idea behind the comic was that Henry was aware of what William was doing the whole time and this little story encaptulates that idea. The title itself is a reference to the UCN select screen music (as well as the idea that Will and Henry mirror each other).
Page 1: Not much to say about this other than one of my friends said it looks like Will is smoking a fat dart and it led to this image:
Page 2: I wanted to keep the horrid things that happened to these kids as ambiguous as possible (cus I think that's when FNaF's horror is at its best). Cass' whole deal is that her death was especially violent and cruel so I gave her the classic 'eyes and teeth poking out' treatment to make it up to her. Henry is grayed out in these flashback bits cus he's the fella from fnaf world (and also very sad).
Page 3: The more simplified Springy and child on the security footage was meant to evoke those weird minigames cus thats what they always felt like to me. Also you cant see his face but hello Clayton from the books.
Page 4: Those two streaks down the side with the rain are meant to look like the puppets tears :) I don't have to explain why will is purple, and smiling, and being the worst.
Page 5: I like this one lots :) Get compared, losers. Will and Henry are like the same guy to me.
Page 6: My favourite character the SCUPER. I really like the idea that Henry either aided in the creation of or fully constructed the funtimes. Just to add to that guilt. The pendulum is another FNaF World reference. Will is doing that thing where you hold your fingers over someones head to evoke rabbit ears.
Page 7: So this page is the scene in FNaF World where the guy at the desk uses Baby to try and take his own life. This is before she was possessed (hense the blue eyes) and related in my brain to Henry's insanity ending monolouge (where he compares what Will did to him as a wound that wouldn't stop bleeding). Now, I think Henry did die here, but got remnant revived like Mikey was. That's why his text goes red (he is fueled by rage).
Page 8: OLD MAN HAND (his fingers are purpled and his nails are yellow cus of the corpse thing).
Page 9: WAS THAT THE BITE OF '87?!?!?!? Also Phone Guy's death. The framing looks like tear streeks again. It's showing how Henry's actions have hurt people the same way Will's have.
Page 10: Henry gets to find a bit of humour in this, as a treat. His tie is puppet themed.
Page 11: He always comes back or whatever and Henry knows that. He's also pissed off. His eyes also have a little X in them :)
Page 12: They're a little gay I can't help myself. I've always liked Henry's use of religious language in regards to Will specifically. He's closing the door on him in that last pannel.
End: This one is double the length cus I wanted Will to have the space to manic laugh. Will also doesn't take Henry's threat very seriously (that's why he hangs around in FFPS and fucking dies). Is him calling Henry a friend mocking? Does he actually believe it? Does he mean it like 'friend'? It is all and non of these. It also mirrors the first page. We start with Will in the suit and we end with Will in the suit.
And that's it! This project has been a lot of work but very rewarding. I've been thinking about doing something like this since FFPS dropped so I'm glad to finaly get this out of my system. It's been very fun :)
#eisoptrophobia tag#thanks for reading this I just wanted to share my thought processes here#cus i enjoyed the process so much#fnaf#suicide tw#five nights at freddy's#henry emily#william afton

First Aid Supplies: Essential Tools That Can Help Save Lives in Emergencies
First aid supplies are essential in emergencies that can happen anytime, often without warning. Whether it's a minor injury like a cut or sprain, or a more serious situation like cardiac arrest, having the right tools on hand can make all the difference. First aid supplies are critical for managing injuries and preventing complications until professional medical help arrives. At F.A.S.T. Rescue Inc., we believe that everyone can save lives. Our mission is to provide first aid supplies and ensure people are well-trained and ready to use them effectively.
Why First Aid Supplies Are Essential
Life is unpredictable, and emergencies don’t wait for you to be prepared. Quick access to first aid supplies can prevent a situation from worsening from burns to allergic reactions, from minor cuts to severe injuries. For instance, stopping bleeding immediately or providing CPR while waiting for paramedics could be the difference between life and death.
The Importance of Being Prepared
Having a well-stocked first aid kit is one of the most basic ways to prepare for emergencies. Whether you're at home, at work, or out in the community, knowing you have the tools to handle a situation is incredibly reassuring. Research shows that being prepared can significantly improve survival rates in emergencies, particularly in cases of trauma or sudden illness.
What Should Be in Your First Aid Kit?
A comprehensive first aid kit should cover the basics for various types of injuries. Here's a quick breakdown of what should be included:
First Aid Supplies for Home
Adhesive bandages
Sterile gauze pads
Antiseptic wipes
Scissors and tweezers
Pain relief medications
First Aid Supplies for Work
Eye wash solutions
Burn creams
CPR masks
Cold compresses
Splints for fractures
First Aid Supplies for Outdoor Activities
Insect sting treatment
Emergency blankets
Poison ivy cream
Snake bite kits
Essential Medical Supplies
Every first aid kit should have bandages, wound care items, and antiseptics for treating injuries. In addition, things like medications for pain, CPR masks for emergencies, and emergency blankets for warmth can be life-saving in critical situations.
Life-Saving Devices
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
AEDs are critical in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. These portable devices are designed to analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electric shock to help re-establish a normal heart rhythm. The presence of an AED can triple the chances of survival in a cardiac emergency. However, proper training in using an AED is vital to ensure it’s used correctly.
Protective Gear in Emergencies
When dealing with blood or bodily fluids, protective gear like gloves, masks, and hand sanitizers are essential. Personal protective equipment (PPE) reduces the risk of infections and ensures your safety while administering first aid.
First Aid Training: More Than Just Supplies
While having the right supplies is important, knowing how to use them is equally critical. First aid training equips individuals with the skills and confidence to respond effectively in emergencies. At F.A.S.T. Rescue, we offer comprehensive training programs to help you stay prepared for all types of emergencies.
First Aid Training at Work
Employers are responsible for ensuring that their workplace is safe and compliant with regulations. First aid training can not only protect employees but also ensure the company meets industry standards. Regular drills also keep skills fresh.
First Aid Training at Home
Emergencies happen at home more often than we think. Whether it’s a family member choking, or a child getting hurt, knowing how to respond immediately can prevent a minor injury from escalating.
F.A.S.T. Rescue’s Commitment to Safety
At F.A.S.T. Rescue, we are dedicated to keeping you safe by offering top-notch first aid supplies and comprehensive training. Our team is passionate about ensuring that everyone, from employees to families, has the skills and tools to handle emergencies with confidence.

Buy First Aid Kits: A Comprehensive Guide from CPR Savers And First Aid Supply
When it comes to ensuring safety in your home, workplace, or vehicle, one of the most essential items to have on hand is a first aid kit. First Aid for Snake Bite: Comprehensive Guide | Live Fit Forever
🔔 If you are living in a location where there are many venomous snakes, then it is always recommended to keep a snake bite kit handy.
📝 Steps to Follow:
Stay Calm: Encourage the person who has been bitten to remain calm and still. Movement can increase the spread of venom.
Call Emergency Services: Dial your local emergency number immediately. Time is critical.
Immobilize the Affected Area: Keep the bitten limb still and at or slightly below the level of the heart.
Remove Tight Clothing and Jewelry: Remove any items that could constrict swelling areas around the bite.
Clean the Wound: Gently clean the bite with soap and water. Avoid cutting the wound or attempting to suck out the venom.
Apply a Loose Bandage: Wrap a clean bandage loosely around the bite area to reduce swelling, but do not restrict blood flow.
Keep the Person Still: Encourage the person to remain as still as possible to slow the spread of venom.
Monitor Vital Signs: Keep an eye on the person's breathing, pulse, and level of consciousness. Be ready to perform CPR if necessary.
Do Not Apply Ice: Avoid applying ice or cold packs to the bite area.
Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: These substances can speed up the absorption of venom.
🚫 What NOT to Do:
Do not use a tourniquet.
Do not cut the wound.
Do not suck out the venom.
Do not give the person anything to eat or drink.

Snake bite! Fear, agony, stress, anxiety and trauma; the name has it all. There are no second thoughts on how dangerous and scary it is. But not giving proper medical attention, and treatment is more dangerous and often fatal. Though all snakes are not poisonous and not all snake bites can be fatal, still it is advisable to bring it under medical focus as soon as possible. This will avoid health complications and hazards. Here’s a detailed account of the must-dos after a snake bite, to avoid medical fiascos. Take a look.

Nancy Bentley
In 1920 the then six-year-old Nancy suffered a snake bite on the shores of Port Arthur, Tasmania. The nearest medical help was many miles away and in desperation, Nancy’s father rowed her to HMAS Sydney (I) which was anchored in Carnarvon Bay. The regulations at the time did not allow for civilians to be administered medical treatment on board one of His Majesty’s warships. Due to the seriousness of the situation and to avoid legal complications, the quick-thinking ship’s Commanding Officer, Captain Henry Cayley ordered that Nancy Bentley be formally enlisted into the Royal Australian Navy. This was duly done and her official rating was noted as ‘mascot’ and her period of service was annotated as 'until fed up'. First aid was quickly administered before Sydney transported Nancy to Hobart where she received further medical treatment. The warship later returned to Port Arthur where Nancy was officially ‘discharged’ from the Navy following eight days service. The reason for discharge is recorded as 'being required by her parents'.

How the GFH, Resistance and the Seeds would feel about Oscar Lapis - PART 2
(Taken evidence from both Far Cry 5 canon and ideas from my Far Cry The Silver Chronicles story).
Trigger Warnings: There are allusions to dark topics such as SA, abuse, incest and paedophilia. There are mentions of violence, murder, kidnapping, character death, misogyny and bigotry. If these topics trigger you, do not continue below this part, nor read the previous part in regard to Father Adam Omar. The other parts of this series should not have as much severity as these two do.
Oscar Lapis
GFH/FFH - Again, like Adam Omar, everyone would dislike Oscar, especially since Silva knows him, and even before she informs them of who Oscar is, he and his Enforcers just aligned themselves with Eden's Gate with no explanation other than "because [the Hope County locals] are sinners". They'd likely find Oscar Lapis to be a dangerous combination of John Seed's smug snake nature with Jacob Seed's experienced militant mindset. As a veteran who served in Afghanistan, Grace Armstrong would likely consider Oscar Lapis a disgraceful soldier, even less a captain, just like Jacob. The things Oscar leads his fellow Enforcers to do (under the guise they're doing "God's Will" when it's really just an excuse to do as they wish) against the residents of Hope County heinously without mercy would probably remind her of the Taliban. Oscar's quick drawing skills might just rival Grace's sharpshooting. She would probably believe he deserves to die. Nick Rye would initially associate Oscar and John to be one in the same. However, Oscar's unpleasant lust for the women in the county (including threats against Nick's wife, Kim) and his past with one of Nick's most trusted friends, Silva (both Oscar's awareness of Adam Omar's abuse on her as well as getting involved with his own brutal physical violence), would probably have Nick classify Oscar as a bigger and perhaps more personal threat than John (who Nick will learn detests Oscar, a surprising commonality between both pilots). Nick would also be pissed by how Oscar treats his betrothed, Denise. Boomer wants to bite Oscar. Hurk Drubman Jr. would likely see Oscar Lapis not as threatening as Adam Omar, but still someone to be weary of. Might actually be used as espionage in Omar's Guard to get access to Jacob's Armoury (which had been the first Eden's Gate establishment, alongside Joseph's Compound, to be stolen after Omar's Guard' betrayal). Oscar would find Hurk pretty funny, and if Hurk played his cards right, he can even get Oscar's guard down. Though he'll be pissed afterwards once he finds out Hurk is a spy. Jess Black, again, would probably want to kill Oscar, especially when he targets her during espionage with Ryan Gravel, humiliating and harassing her, his smug grin always on his face. Jess knows he suspects she isn't Ryan's betrothed but has to play up the facade in order to not blow Ryan's cover. Oscar's actions towards Eden's Gate members, specifically non-threatening families, might bring Jess distress (which is Oscar's intention). Then Oscar publicly brags, in a canteen full of Enforcers (and Adam Omar himself), with Jess and Ryan present, about learning the location of Dutch's Bunker and how they're finally going to get rid of a major player in the Resistance. Cheeseburger would curb-stomp Oscar for Silva and Jess. Adelaide Drubman, much like when Adam Omar first arrived in the war-torn county with his Enforcers to "aid" Eden's Gate, would probably appreciate Oscar's body, especially in his uniform/armour. However, once his bigotry, abuse on Silva (as well as his awareness of Adam Omar's incestuous paedophilia with his children) and awful treatment of Denise comes to light, Adelaide's all aboard the "kick Oscar Lapis' ass" train. Relates Oscar's (less threatening) misogynistic comments to how her husband, Hurk Sr. speaks. Sharky Boshaw would hate Oscar for the above reasons Adelaide would and be shocked he's considering John Seed a more tolerable foe. Oscar would likely be amused by Sharky's whimsical nature. Peaches is coming to gut Oscar.
The Resistance - Pastor Jerome would find Oscar's sociopathy and blatantly honest admissions that "he's just in it for the entitlement and exertion of power" as appalling as Adam Omar's hypocrisy. Mary May's admitted she would never forgive anyone who willingly follows Joseph Seed, so the same would apply with anyone who follows Adam Omar. Oscar Lapis is a menace to Nick, but becomes an absolute nightmare to Kim, who Silva manages to convince into going to her residence (which has a hidden bunker installed) with Carmina, given Silva knows from personal experience that Oscar will strike at Nick's personal weaknesses now that he has Oscar's attention (Oscar was the Enforcer who murdered Irene Neon, Silva's first love and Persephone's mother, which is why Kamski Neon hates the man). Eli Palmer would like to put an arrow in Oscar's heart (if he lived in FC:TSC). Tammy and Oscar got beef, and it gets worse when he learns of Eli's death. Wheaty isn't as traumatised by Oscar as he is by Adam Omar but does think Oscar's a dick for pressing Tammy's buttons. Virgil Minkler associates Oscar and his Enforcers to the likes of the Gestapo, while Adam Omar is their dictator. Tracey is initially baffled by the fact anyone would willingly follow Adam Omar's obvious lies... only to realise that Oscar and his Enforcers are very aware of Adam's delusions and are just taking advantage of it. Oscar would rub her the wrong way. Dutch would be shocked by the fact a group as appalling and uncaring as the Congregation of Omar's Guard exists. He'd consider them fascists and/or "colonial Nazis". Sheriff Whitehorse would consider Oscar and his Enforcers a shameful mockery of authority. Would definitely use Omar's Guard' violence as evidence to Eden's Gate that the Resistance and the Project need to team up (especially after Omar's Guard stabbed Eden's Gate in the back). Deputy Hudson would be all for "instant death penalty" for Oscar Lapis and his Enforcers. Both her and Deputy Pratt would likely be disgusted by Oscar's abuse of authority. Pratt would consider him weak. Marshal Burke would be shocked that Omar's Guard was still active and remained hidden for almost 300 years without the U.S government noticing.
The Seeds - Once Joseph gets over the shock of betrayal (and being deceived), he would be disgusted by Oscar's lack of empathy. John would despise Oscar's nonchalant attitude towards his crimes. Jacob would already be angry towards Oscar's attempt on Joseph's life, and livid at his inglorious attitude. Would consider him weak too. Faith would consider Oscar selfish and self-serving but wouldn't want to be stuck in the same room as him again (for obvious reasons).
Anyway, that's part two of how I feel these characters would view Oscar Lapis. Comment and/or reblog how you think these characters would feel about/react to Oscar Lapis. Part three will be on Paul Yellowjack.

The Essentials Of Remote First Aid: What You Need To Know?
Remote First Aid is a topic that has been getting more and more attention. The reason for this is that in the modern world, people are increasingly spending more time working remotely than ever before. As such, there is an increasing need to learn about how remote first aid can be used effectively in the event of an emergency.
go to the website: Remote First Aid - My First Aid Course
Using the right equipment in remote locations
The right equipment for a remote location depends on the situation. In many cases, the standard first aid kit you may have at home will be sufficient to treat minor injuries. However, if there are more serious issues or you're dealing with an emergency situation, your kit may need to be supplemented with additional items. For example: If someone is injured by falling into a river or lake and suffering hypothermia as a result of being submerged in water for too long, they'll need warming blankets or heat packs (and possibly even CPR) before moving them back onto land so that they can receive further treatment from paramedics or other medical professionals who have arrived on scene by then."
Identifying & treating common injuries
Recognise the signs of a stroke. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in Australia and can be prevented if treated quickly. Strokes cause part or all of your brain to stop working properly. The symptoms include sudden weakness or numbness on one side of your body, slurred speech and difficulty understanding what others are saying to you.
Treat snake bites by removing any rings from around the affected area as they may constrict circulation; apply firm pressure with a bandage; immobilise the limb below heart level; get immediate medical attention if there are signs such as rapid breathing, nausea/vomiting etc.; keep calm as panic increases blood flow which may worsen damage caused by venomous snakes' toxins
Making an injured person more comfortable
You should make sure that the injured person is warm and comfortable. You can also help them by making sure they are breathing properly, as well as having enough water to drink.
If you are treating a small wound, such as a cut or burn, then it is best to wash your hands before beginning treatment in order to avoid cross contamination.
You should always try and keep calm when dealing with an injury; this will help both yourself and the victim feel less stressed out than if someone were panicking around them!
There is no doubt that remote first aid is a challenging and rewarding field of work. It's important to know how to treat common injuries in remote locations, such as cuts and bruises, but also more serious issues like broken bones or concussions. The key thing is that before you head out into the wilderness or onto an expedition, make sure your supplies are up-to-date so they can help keep your team safe! HEMOTOXIN VENOM
Hemotoxin venomous creatures, which include snakes, spiders, and some species of fish, have venom that carries various toxic effects on the human body. The venom from these creatures is primarily composed of enzymes and other toxins that can affect the blood and blood vessels, causing various complications and health risks. Hemotoxin venomous creatures are one of the most dangerous animal groups, and their venom can be fatal if left untreated.
The effects of hemotoxin venom on the human body vary depending on the specific toxin present in the venom, the amount of venom injected, and the time elapsed between the bite or sting and medical intervention. Some common symptoms of hemotoxin venom include intense pain, swelling, bruising, hemorrhage, blood clots, and organ damage. Hemotoxin venom can cause severe bleeding, resulting in anemia, low blood pressure, shock, and even death. In some cases, it can also lead to acute renal failure, cardiac arrest, or respiratory failure.
The severity of the venom’s effects on the body distinguishes the treatment required. The first step of Hemotoxin venom treatment is to immobilize the affected part and prevent the venom from spreading throughout the body. The next step is to apply suction to the wound to remove as much venom as possible, but this should only be done if the suction device is specially designed for venom removal. Cutting the wound to remove the venom is not recommended as it only makes the infection worse.
Most hemotoxin venom treatments involve administering antivenom, which is a medication that contains antibodies to neutralize the venom. Antivenom is specific for the type of venom and may take hours to prepare. It can be administered intravenously or subcutaneously, depending on the venom's nature and severity. In severe cases, patients may require airway management and supportive care, such as oxygen therapy or intravenous fluids.
Overall, the best way to prevent the effects of hemotoxin venom is to avoid contact with venomous creatures. Awareness of ones surroundings and prevention measures are important. If possible, cover skin with clothing, boots and gloves. Always keep first aid kits available if travelling to areas where venomous creatures exist. By preparing for any situation, one can take the sting out of these dangerous creatures.

I want to scream...
Family group texts are thing now. I am glad for this, because I have found several members of my family have fallen down the herbal and fad diet rabbit hole with absolutely no idea that supplements and commercial diets are completely unregulated and not held to any labeling standards in the US. Thanks to our for profit non-healthcare system, more and more Americans are turning to supplements and outright snake oil to treat their illnesses. I can’t blame anybody, I have a barely treated chronic pain disorder and I know how miserable that is. Also, I am not against responsible uses of non-medical treatments or diets that teach people better eating habits. I had good experience with acupuncture and try to eat as few processed foods as monetarily possible because of the insane amount of sugar and salt in them. If lavender diffusion makes you happy, go for it. But be aware of the risks as well. And that’s my problem. There’s no warning labels and often times, the advertising is downright dishonest. Because again, there’s no regulation and no testing requirements.
One aunt, who has diabetes, is taking tumeric for her arthritis. Which has been shown to cause jaundice and liver damage at high doses and lower blood sugar levels. That second one might actually be good for her, I don’t know. I think her dose is okay, but I am glad I just rolled my eyes and moved on when people kept insisting it was the miracle cure for fibromyalgia. After looking at drugs.com and poison control’s sites, it seemed to only be nominally helpful for inflammatory pain. Which while some of the pain associated with fibro causes inflammation (like costochondritis ), the majority of the pain is from our misfiring pain neurons. Which is not inflammatory.
My sister is taking 5 htp and lavender for her depression, which sent up another red flag. Never, ever, ever take any essential oil internally unless in trace amounts. Like as a seasoning. Strike one against this stuff. I had never heard of 5 htp so I had a google and low and behold, there’s no scientific evidence this works any better than placebo. Quelle surprise. So yeah, it’s woo and I hope it’s not dangerous woo. But her reason? “No script and no side effects.’ Okay, that made literally bite my tongue. Because there are always side effects. Sometimes, like with my anxiety and antidepressant meds, the drowsy side effect makes it so I can sleep without an addictive, expensive sleep aid. Since I recently found out there is only so much antihistamine my body tolerates and that’s what most OTC sleep aids are and I sleep ate when I took Ambien. But sometimes the side effects can kill you or make you more miserable than what you’re taking it for. When I took Lyrica the first time, my feet swelled up so much I couldn’t put my shoes on to go to the doctor. She told me to stop taking it immediately, of course. But side effects are always a thing. But again, I can’t blame her. It costs $200 or more just to get an appointment with a doctor. Then there’s labs and tests piled onto the bill. Prescriptions are getting more and more expensive. And the snake oil peddlers and anti-science wackjobs are taking advantage. And it’s terrifying.
And then there’s my mom. Her doctor told her to lose weight and drink more water to take some of the strain off her kidneys. So she started a diet. At first, it seemed pretty solid, sold itself as a lifestyle change and was a lot like the Mediterranean diet I tried a few years back. Which is a very healthy (but expensive) way to eat in general. But then she started demonizing carbs. And complaining she’d only lost 20 lbs in two months. Yeah, it was mostly water weight, but she was upset she was only losing a little weight every week since then. Which is how it’s supposed to go. Did her diet tell her this? Of course not. And she’s going to start feeling tired if she keeps avoiding all carbs like they’re poison. It’s hard enough to see ads for this shit and hear the Karens screaming about vaccines being poison and feeding essential oils to their kids, but knowing your own family is being sucked in makes it even harder. I have tried to insert sanity repeatedly, but I don’t expect to be listened to because they’ve been promised the moon and they don’t want to hear about how it isn’t going to happen. Which is the worst part of all.

I’m learning about snake bites in my first aid class so prepare for an influx of questions.
I’m going through the lesson and for some of the venomous snakes it says that the bite will have severe pain. I know you’ve also mentioned that you can’t even really feel if some snakes bite/they don’t break skin.
About how often do you think that a bite from a snake will break skin, will it be painful if not from a venomous snake, is the pain often immediate, and is there any way to tell if the snake that just bit you was venomous or should you just get it checked out anyway?
In one of my field biology classes they taught us that before moving away if bitten, we should take a photo of the snake so the hospital can know how to treat it/what antivenin to use. Do you have any other tips for what happens when bitten by a snake?
Also I did like that my first aid class mentioned that most bites occur either by accident (not seeing the snake) or because the people were messing around with the snake (provoking it, trying to capture or kill it, etc.). Although it wasn’t explicitly stated, I hope that most people understand that snake bites can therefore be prevented if you are observant and see the snake and then just leaving it alone.
Also is there any danger to being given an antivenin if you haven’t been bitten by that snake?
So sorry for the very long post but this topic is so interesting to me
I love venomous snake questions, don't apologize!! :)
Venomous snake bites are often extremely painful. This isn't because of the physical injury of the bite itself, it's 100% because of the venom. Venomous snake bites will often break skin - that's what fangs are designed to do, after all, and the skin must be broken in order for an envenomation to occur.
Pain from a venomous snake bite will usually start out small and ramp up. One of my mentors, the director of a venom lab, has been bitten by hots quite a few times, and he says viper bites start out tingly and then, a few minutes-hours in, it's the worst pain he's ever experienced. If you get bitten by a snake and experience severe pain, it's a good indication the snake was probably venomous!
Non-venomous snake bites, in contrast, are non-events. They often don't break the skin (they don't have fangs) and don't hurt at all. I've been bitten by plenty of non-venomous snakes (probably hundreds by now), and genuinely I can count the number of bites that actually hurt on one hand.
Taking a photo of any snake that bites you is a great practice! If you can't do that, just try to remember the color, size, and pattern, that's often enough to be getting along with. If you're bitten by a venomous snake, I strongly recommend telling the folks at the hospital everything they might need to know as quick as you can. Allergies, drug sensitivities, and medical history are especially important, and especially if you were bitten by an elapid, there's a not-zero chance you'll be winding up with a breathing tube down your throat, so tell them the important stuff fast.
As for the dangers of antivenins - antivenin treatment can be an ordeal in itself. Allergic reactions to the antivenin aren't uncommon, and other side effects can be unpleasant and severe, including shortness of breath, cardiac arrhythmia, and extreme fatigue. We call this serum sickness. Because these side effects can be so severe, it's very dangerous to receive an antivenin treatment if you don't actually need it.
