I recently watched The Princess and the Frog, long due I know but I was so THE MOVIE WAS ACTUALLY SO GOOD??? FIRST OF ALL for this in 2009 and Tangled in 2010, the upgrade is FUCKING INSAAANEEEEEE. SECOND, story wise, the real shine of the movie was Charlotte. we all think she's a spoiled rich princess BUT NAH IT WAS SO HEARTWARMING HOW EVEN THOUGH HER ENTIRE GOAL WAS TO MARRY NAVEEN AND FIND TRUE LOVE, SHE EASILY LET HIM GO IN A HEARTBEAT FOR TIANA. that is smth you cant even find that easily in society today AND THAT SHOULD BE FUCKING APPRECIATED. also it's set in New Orleans which is such a slay like Mardi Gras city? sign me the fuck up man I loved that shit, Disney before Tangled era really felt like the 90s and it fuckin showed in the movie (positive point) I LOOOVEEEEED IT

Here's my Storyboarding class final, the "Nuclear Soup" story from the Lancer campaign my character Percy is from.

The story is told in a somewhat nonlinear fashion. Different background colors denote different scenes, and different main colors on each character denotes who the main focus is in that scene.

Mind you, this is only the third animation storyboard I've ever done. And we weren't really taught much sound design beyond how to input sound into the program and move it around. I did the best I could using basic Audacity, which I barely know how to use. And yes, this was with Toon Boom Storyboard Pro. And if you remember, Toon Boom products and I do not exactly tend to get along very well. (That said, Storyboard Pro was much kinder to me than Harmony was.)

Each character is voiced by their creator. I thought it was a neat little touch, at least. None of us have ever done any voice acting before, and as such, we're definitely pretty rough around the edges.

I had a bit less than five weeks total to both conceptualize and make this. I ended up cutting several corners toward the end, and there are several mistakes I can see now that I'm well outside the Finals rush.

Regardless, I'm still proud of what I managed to make!

I will also note that parts of the "nuclear soup" story had a comic version I did for fun from back in the end of 2022, which I utilized as the basis for the final scene, updated and with only minor changes, which is viewable below the cut.

There's also this image (also from 2022) from a part of the argument that got purposefully left out of the animatic!

I planned to make it a full art piece, but I tired out on it, too.

It’s so interesting to me that the big, like, ~reveal~ of both Jane Eyre and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall concern one of the main love interests already being - surprise! - married, but they are such VASTLY different circumstances with totally different connotations and consequences.
