-If my underaged TGCf OCs witness the infamous dice scene like in season 2, Qing Tao and Chun Xue(both 12) look up to their older friends: “..ssShould we be listening to this?”  And then Lan Hai and Nuan Yu (both 14) frantically respond with covering their younger friends’ ears: “…pProbably best if we played it safe.” (Quotes are from an episode of Close Enough) heck I can imagine the Gaang reacting like this witnessing the dice shaking too, just swap Qing Tao and Chun Xue with Aang and Toph, and Lan Hai and Nuan Yu with Sokka and Katara, (Zuko would also try to cover the Southern Water Tribe Sibs’ ears, but this hypothetical scene also won’t happen in my TGCF x ATLA xover, now back to the reaction!)

And as Liv pointed out, they have an extremely badly calibrated love and friendship care bear beam xD The little guy (gender neutral) just spills out people's shit in the gentlest yet most brutal ways possible, and then just look cute and like, no one ever gets mad at them. They do think that being adorable and whimsy will get them far -- they know very well how to be serious and gloom, but you catch more flies with honey. Please protect me I am small. Also, can you give me a hug? -puppy eyes- Little shit knows exactly how irresistibly sweet they are.

Also, they fit the "child-like, innocent, uwu asexual character" trope. And not only that, an ace character whose backstory touches heavily on the matter of sex. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would come for my neck (others would relate, I hope. I try my best to handle this with utmost care and proper narrative weight, like everything else in Tarlyn's story), so like, yeah, oof.

Problematic little guy would get canceled or infantilized by the fandom.

This sounds rather aggressive, but it isn’t meant to be. I never notice these things until it’s too late.

Dream: Uhm, I know this was sent a while ago, and technically this is very overdue. But there's a few things? I want to say.

I'm not usually one for blocklists, and us as a system do believe second chances do exist, so if one person did a bad to us, we don't think that should warrant them being ostracized. There have been exceptions, and I'm not here to immediately forgive Foxxism for what he's done to Drew, because I understand being hurt by someone doesn't always warrant forgiveness and forgetfulness, especially if the said person only digs in their heels and continues harassment.

So, for us of all personally, if we were to give out a small craft advisory to those wading the shores, we'd choose only two people; Freyfall and Foxxism.

This will be the last post we make about either of these people, so we won't leave any stone unturned. Especially since we're shooting for the stars with the datemate of the creator of this little fandom. I hope this doesn't sound disjointed, as I'm the new host as opposed to Drew/Mod Felis, whom a lot of this happened to him personally and not to me, but I will have someone here to help.

Uhm, there's me coming out as host, I'll now baton pass to Glitch.

Glitch: Yo. I'm Glitch. Not the same one from the TUSOUD fic, actually. I am partially a DS fictive, and I've been around since 2020 and when all these... issues came around. I tend to overheat when thinking about this issue, so if it sounds like I'm attacking you OP, I'm more referring to Lucian/Foxxism, so don't worry too much about it.

I wasn't always Glitch. I used to be just a fragment, someone without much of an understanding besides "do what it takes to keep going" and "keep us going until we pass out", as we worked a physically draining job at the time and I was a last resort. That was my purpose, and the fact I could understand language was a miracle in itself.

Here, I met Lucian. He was originally called Blue, but because we have our own Blue, we'll stick to the present name. I talked to Lucian a few times, and while I could not really understand or process everything when it came to our conversations, Drew was able to pick up on the fact that Lucian was a little obsessive with me and was the smart 18 year old in not mentioning it and keeping me away from front to protect me in my rather vulnerable state. I am grateful for this, as we all know what can go on in our sources, and whilst I didn't have the trauma source Blue inflicted on me, it kept me from having it occur. Drew couldn't always keep me away; I still had a purpose in the system, and sometimes we were so beat it was better I took front to keep pushing carts up a hill and walking back home in the summer heat, because the alternative was worse.

My name was Error, and I found Lucian to be my friend, until Fox (the host of Foxxism's system) decided Drew's trigger for Freyfall's JMV AU was his issue that he needed to "cure". Despite not being a licensed psychologist or therapist, he certainly wanted to do a crash course on us despite the fact that the main component needed in helping triggers is the person first wanting to do it, hence emphasis on the "crash" of the course.

Freyfall certainly wasn't none-the-wiser; they knew what was going on and still gave the greenlight to Foxxism. (Uh, this is a link, by the way. Cool segway, amirite?)

The stress of the situation caused a small split; a Calculester-esk looking fellow who went by Automation and had the ability to drain our emotions if we ended up far too stressed and triggered. He was created by this situation, and created for this situation. And once everything in this situation came to a roaring end and time passed to heal all wounds, him and I decided to fuse.

It's the definition of ironic and poetic; the person who built me up and befriended me also knocked the rest of us down. And as how Lucian is the current host now and the harassment has continued, it seems we're damned by our sources sometimes.

I once saw Lucian as a friend, and maybe we could have been like a big brother/little brother dynamic. Maybe we could have been great friends, been like a family. But I have more empathy for my headmates then for what-ifs, and since we have our own older and nicer Blue fictive (whom formed about one-two years before we met Foxxism, don't be a weirdo), that I have dated for the better part of a year, I'm happier having my boyfriend around then I ever was as a mere Error fragment chatting with Lucian.

We made peace with the situation, and we don't wish to be friends with any of them and we don't make a habit to talk to them. And while everyone is their own person, if you tend to have bad triggers, have issues with shipping siblings or fantasy not consensual fun times in terms of personal comfort, or generally would describe yourself as someone who could easily let someone stomp over their boundaries, I would say to avoid Freyfall and Foxxism.

We don't care either way if you're friends with 'em either, just don't give us shit too and you're peachy.

i'm sorry to hear you're having a rough day, anon. i really hope it gets better for you - i'll put some of the things i do under the cut.

it really depends for me on the nature of the bad day, or where my head is at. i usually try to run through the basic physical necessities first: when did i last eat? have i had water in the past two hours? how much sleep did i get? if i rule out the physical, bodily things that might be contributing to or aggravating feeling bad, then i can focus more clearly on trying to identify what else i might need.

in general, identifying where the bad feeling is located, physically, sometimes helps me figure out what comes next. is it in my shoulders? in my stomach? in the back of my head? in my hands? for me, it's less a case of trying to ignore the feeling, but instead trying to acknowledge it and make room for it so i can figure out how to move through it. existing with the feeling usually sucks and feels pretty uncomfortable, but letting it fester and get bigger when i'm not paying attention or trying to ignore it is pretty much always worse.

sometimes the thing that helps most is finding small ways to be productive - finding something to feel accomplished about. could be as relatively small as washing my dishes or taking the garbage out or putting a load of laundry on. cleaning my physical space is sometimes enough - i hold a lot of tension in my shoulders when my apartment's gotten a little messy, and sorting it out helps me release that tension again.

or taking a 15 minute walk outside to try and reset a little - sometimes i'll go to the corner store to buy myself some juice and try to have a little conversation with the cashier. if i'm feeling up to talking, sometimes a little chat with someone who's having a "normal" day helps me put things in perspective when things feel bleak - the world can't be as bad as it feels if my neighbours are doing okay, you know?

other times, doing something creative helps in a similar way - something that brings me joy for the sake of it. writing for myself (without any particular intent of posting or sharing it, though i sometimes will if i'm still proud of it when i look back at it later), or making gifs of something/someone i care about. singing helps, too, even if it's just in my room or in the shower.

if none of those things are quite doing it, maybe i need to go back to basics and take care of my body. sometimes it's exercise - i have a lot of very simple, low intensity workouts that i can do at home following youtube videos and such. they don't need any gear, just some empty floor to stand and move on. getting my heart rate up enough to get some endorphins going is sometimes enough to shake my brain out of it. sometimes it's deliberately taking the time for a nice long bath: getting comfortable with my skin again and deliberately taking the time to treat myself kindly. sometimes what i need most is to curl up with a favourite movie or a book or a youtuber i like until i'm ready to fall asleep. (often, a combination of the above - tire myself out a little with exercise and then get in the tub, or get myself clean in the tub and then get under my blankets once the water's starting to get cold, etc.)

another thing i forgot about the fic, is mostly how injuries are treated? well, youre not supposed to give ice cold baths for fevers. you dont want to make them shiver more than what theyre already doing. also why is there no tylenol or aspirin in the first aid kit? even my workplace first aid kit has one.

and irl, its not wise to just patch up a wound that are cause by (real) glass (motherfucker! cry me a river). there's always a chance one of the small shards embedded deep inside the flesh and really fuck you up. in a proper medical setting, severe or really large wounds caused by glass get x-rayed to make sure nothing got inside the body. disclaimer : i did not found this out because of the drama last year. i figured it out when i was researching for a shatterbird centric fic i was making several years ago. Its a totally different fandom, and i totally never use this knowledge to win any internet arguments. promise :)

another thing is, the fic has a lot of gratituous sex scenes that despite i enjoyed, was better off written as a series of one shots after the fic was done. a sequel, basically, instead of being crammed in between the plots. kinda fucks up the pacing. its good, but it deserves to stand on its own as a stand alone.

and the final stuff, geez why is every fic always have the canonical female love interest evil and then suffer in agony before dying. I know early 2010s fandom are sexist but good god its really something else when you revisit it again. like, shut the fuck up. you dont have to make her into a complete villain to break off their relationship. also its kinda glaring that [redacted]'s other best friend (who happen to be fat) is conveniently written out despite his closeness and the fact that he was just as successful even if its in a different place. 2013 fandom amirite?

on a lighter note, this fic is also doing that bit where everyone is shipped off and the random leftover characters get randomly shipped together. it usually doesnt work for me but... dean and colt actually look cute. helps that its not a case of pairing together but also a way for [redacted] to accept his feelings and a reasonable explanation on why his bestie isnt so mad that he's fucking their supposed enemy. Obsessed that theyre just as haunted by [redacted] as they are irl. tbf i am a sucker for enemies to lovers.

there’s a second season coming up with the same two male leads, with a similar premise of crime solving in the chinese republican era but they’re no longer playing the same characters (i.e. main characters are different I don’t know how that works)

this show was censored so heavily and diverged so much from the original novel, but the actors and the entire crew knew that they were acting a romance and not a romance and it damn well showed

I believe that this show set the road for the untamed because even though it became so wildly popular among fans that I guess it signalled to show runners the possibility of drama adaptations of BL novels despite the heavy censorship

quite similar to MRIAD, in that it’s a detective show set in the republican era and is structured according to a few episodes per case (in this case - lol - it’s three episodes per case) but with an overarching plot

I feel like they didn’t really touch on the overarching plot here except for a couple of cases? the rest of the cases are unlinked to the overarching plot

though overall the overarching plot feels better executed than MRIAD (which was just… lol)

In the capital, he accidentally meets Lin Wan'er, the sickly illegitimate daughter of the Princess Royal and falls in love with her.

Unbeknownst to him, she is the woman the emperor chose for him to marry so that he would be the new overseer of the Royal Treasury, an institute Fan Xian's mother established in the palace and currently handled by the Princess Royal. In the capital, however, he gets entangled in the intrigues of the Emperor and the two Princes, as well as the Overwatch Department, leading to him questioning his whole identity and inducing him to find his true life goals, abandoning his original intention to just "enjoy life".

believe me or not, this show actually has quite a fair bit of science fiction in it

tbh I would’ve listed horror as one of those genres

because especially in the first half of the show I was watching most of it from behind my hands

there are a whole bunch of series and movies before this one, it’s part of a super big franchise (probably one of the biggest franchises) in china called 盗墓笔记 (the grave robber chronicles, or the lost tomb)

but you don’t have to watch the previous shows to know what’s going on because this one pretty much starts from a new arc, give or take a few casual references thrown into the conversation referring to their past adventures (which are also shown in the opening if you know what to look out for)

xhu yilong here is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from xhu yilong in guardian. there he was invincible ass kicking alien. here he is sick dying old uncle who needs to be protected but still pretty damn smart.

Miss Su Wen Li, a beautiful and witty socialite, forms an unlikely detective duo with the righteous and serious inspector Luo Qiuheng. Despite their many differences, the pair share an undeniable chemistry and - of course - go on to solve many cases together in and around Shanghai, all while Su Wen Li chases clues behind her sister's disappearance, which happened ten years ago, yet is forever a thorn in her heart.

At her insistence, the group embarked on a tomb raid of the real Zhang Manor which the Jiumen Sect had attempted many years ago in a final attempt to search for the truth. At the last possible moment, a puzzle is incorrectly solved leaving the entering group including Xiao Ge to disappear into the unknown, with the mystery unsolved and Wu Xie devastated. All hope is not lost though, as Xie Yu Chen makes a suggestion to Wu Xie that he simply cannot refuse.
