PAIRINGS: Zuko x Reader
Warnings: none
Fluffy
In the soft glow of the fire-lit chamber, Zuko sat on the edge of the bed, his expression softened as he watched you. You were curled up on the bed, a book forgotten in your lap as you stared into the dancing flames. The flickering light painted shadows on the walls, casting a warm and cozy atmosphere over the room.
"Are you okay?" Zuko asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
You turned to look at him, a small smile gracing your lips. "I'm fine, just lost in thought."
Without a word, Zuko moved closer, his arms encircling you gently as he pulled you against his chest. You nestled into his embrace, feeling the warmth of his body seeping into yours. It was a comforting feeling, like being wrapped in a blanket of safety and love.
"I'm here," he murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "You don't have to face anything alone."
You sighed contentedly, closing your eyes as you let yourself relax in his arms. In that moment, there was nothing but the two of you, wrapped up in each other's warmth and love. You could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath your ear, a reassuring reminder that he was there, always there for you.
And as the fire crackled softly in the background, you knew that as long as you had Zuko by your side, everything would be alright. Time seemed to stand still as you savored the simple pleasure of being together, sharing a moment of peace and tranquility in each other's company.
Eventually, the warmth of the fire and the comfort of Zuko's embrace lulled you into a state of drowsiness. You felt yourself drifting off to sleep, safe and content in his arms. And as you succumbed to the gentle embrace of slumber, you knew that no matter what challenges the future may bring, as long as you had Zuko by your side, you could face anything with courage and strength.

Katara and the fear of loss (aka why she waited)
I think one aspect of Katara's storyline I don't see explored nearly enough the fact that she is terrified of losing others, especially those whom she cares for. This makes sense, especially looking to her background, how the death of her mother affected her and the fact that war has been a very large part of her life since she was a small child. Not to mention, she is actively a huge part of said war, along with her brother and friends, at the tender age of 14.
Now, some of you may ask "quill what the hell does Aang have to do with Katara's mother?"
Yes, on the surface, there isn't that much connecting Katara's dead, grown ass mother to Katara's alive 12 year old goofball bf but the parallels between Kya and Aang are planted even at the beginning of the show, in the first few episodes.
When Zuko and the Fire Nation attack the Southern Watertribe, they are looking for Aang, the last airbender, not dissimilar to the Southern Raiders looking for the last Southern waterbender. Furthermore, both Kya and Aang willingly give themselves up to the Fire Nation in order to protect the village, particularly Katara.
Throughout the show, we see Katara's interest and endearment towards Aang grow, and we see them create a genuine friendship. But I'd argue that Aang being the Avatar is, to some degree, a problem to their relationship. Aang's duty as the Avatar, and the risks and decisions he is faced with due to it, often create a rift between him and Katara.
Be it due to Aang's responsibilities leading him to make decisions she doesn't agree with, like in the Avatar State, where Aang feels the pressure to force the Avatar State due to the suffering of the soldiers he feels responsible for.
Or, more poignantly, in the Awakening, where Aang is once again compared to one of the parents Katara lost due to the war, though Hakoda's 'loss' was not due to death, but a need to fight. I think this also shows how much Katara values Aang not just as the Avatar, but as a person.
Katara: Aang. He just took his glider and disappeared. He has this ridiculous notion that he has to save the world alone, that it's all his responsibility. Hakoda : Maybe that's his way of being brave. Katara: It's not brave; it's selfish and stupid! We could be helping him, and I know the world needs him, but doesn't he know how much we need him, too? How can he just leave us behind? Hakoda : You're talking about me too, aren't you?
This is twice Aang has been directly paralleled to one of Katara's parents, whose repsective losses have clearly affected her greatly. This is also extremely poignant, since we've been explicitly told that Aang's love for his own lost family, the Air Nomads, was reborn into Katara. For Aang and Katara, the ways they deal with their losses influences how they pursue each other romantically.
Of course, there's also the â¨ď¸ immediate threat of death and physical injuryâ¨ď¸. Aang and the rest of the Gaang, but particularly Aang is constantly being chased and tracked and endangered by the Fire Nation and he is meant to face the Firelord and defeat him. There are a lot of possibilities for something to go horrifically wrong here.
From Aang being half dead when Katara found him, then almost immediately getting kidnapped by the prince of the goddamn Fire Nation, to almost every villain of the week shenanigan, Katara already has good reason to worry for Aang.
But then the reach Ba Sing Se and things get even worse. Jet, Katara's only other canonically confirmed love interest dies, and Katara is helpless to do anything about it. This is already enough to make someone reconsider future romantic endeavours, but surely it can't get any worse, right?
Oh yeah, Aang FUCKING DIES
He gets blasted in the back with lighting, right as he enters the avatar state, right before Katara's eyes. The saviour of the world, but more importantly, her dear friend, brutally cut down before her very eyes. And Katara, a child, is the only person with even a sliver of hope of bringing him back.
So is it really any surprise that Katara, having experienced loss before multiple times over, and almosf having lost Aang himself, would be hesitant to enter a romantic relationship with someone being actively hunted by the greatest military in the world, someone obligated to take on the leader of said military?
Katara is afraid. She's afraid of opening her heart up to loving Aang and then losing him after that. This is the main reason why she hesitates in initiating her and Aang's relationship. Whenever Aang tries to brooch the subject, she brings up the war and the Firelord, but due to being a child, she struggles in communicating her exact feelings, which leaves Aang confused and of kilter. Katara often gives Aang romantic attention, and clearly feels rather possessive of him, however, she is not ready to enter a romantic relationship due to the threat of the war looming above their heads. But due to being 14, she doesn't know how to explain these feelings, which is what leads to the minor conflict between her and Aang. Because, you know, they're both children in a situation that children aren't built to deal with.
Katara : Aang, I don't know. Aang: Why don't you know? Katara : Because, we're in the middle of a war, and, we have other things to worry about. This isn't the right time.
It's important to note that Aang isn't exactly a bad person for wanting this relationship to be made tangible. He does push boundaries, and kissing Katara without her consent in the Ember Island episode is obviously a horrendous misstep (which he acknowledged), but I think you can at least understand his motives. He may soon die, after all, and he wants to love Katara and wants to express that love before he possibly loses his entire goddamn life. I think this can also be traced back to how Aang deals with the genocide of the Air Nomads and vs how Katara deals with the death of her mother.
Aang certainly blames himself for the death of the Air Nomads, although this guilt is unfounded. Perhaps part of him believes that if he'd just stayed with them, spent a little more time with Gyatso, he could've helped them. It wouldn't be a leap to imagine that Aang wanting to spend more time with those he loves, including Katara is a coping mechanism surrpunding that loss.
Now juxtapose this to Katara, who's entire encounter with Yon Rha is permeated by helplessness and fear, an 8 year old Katara being unable to do anything but run away and try to get help, sadly not in time for Kya to survive. So Katara trying to assert some control over her relationships, maintaining a certain distance to Aang while the war that robbed her of her mother is still in full swing isn't an improbable concept. She's trying to not feel that helplessness again.
(Katara probably blames herself for her mother's death too, but it has less to do with Katara's actions and more to fo with what Katara was; a waterbender, something she hasno bearing on)
This is why she initiates the kiss with Aang at the end of the show. Not because she feels the need to give in to his advances due to him being the hero of the world. Not because she's caving to his insistence or because she's pressured. But because the possibility of Aang getting fucking murked by glorified pyromancers are significantly lower than they were during the war.
This is not a 'taking one for the team bcs I feel like I have to due to Aang saving the world' type of smooch. This is a 'finally I feel safe to express my feelings' type of smooch.
To be completely honest, I don't like how Kataang was handled post day of black sun, I think it was an unnecessary addition of a redundant "will they, won't they?" aspect to the relationship. Teasing Zutara in the last few episodes was also just unnecessary, because it was obviously never a viable endgame relationship and it only served to give kid zutara shippers false hope. This is especially fucked up looking at how the same zutara fans were later mocked by the creators, which, no matter what you think if the ship, is a horrible thing to do to a bunch of teenage girls and I think has contributed to those teenage girls growing into bitter, aggressive adult zutara shippers.
But, as much as I dislike this storyline, it does make sense for Katara's character and is an interesting and touching 'silent arc' for her to have. We often see characters fall in love in the midst of a conflict, but we aren't always shown how that conflict would affect the way they look at their relationship, so I appreciate this storyline for what it was.

I am so so so so so TIRED to see people fatshaming two perfectly healthy girls because they have round faces. Itâs disgusting.
The actresses of Mai and Azula are on point for their roles. Hell, if they were chosen there must be a reason, itâs not like thereâs no Asian actresses out there they could choose from.
People canât accept that Azula can have a characterization beyond âcrazy and sadist sickoâ. Sheâs a perfectionist. Sheâs an asset to her father. Sheâs jealous of Zukoâs birthright and of how it might take what she has away. Those are things that OG Azula too had. The only difference is that we actually see it in season one and have a background on her, rather than writing it in a rant. And what has been added only makes her a more complex character, given the change in the family dynamic as well.
And Mai? The actress is talented, she delivers a good Mai, and does justice to the character. Sheâs 17 and at the beginning of her career, of course it wonât be perfect. She gets to grow. Thing is, you guys wonât let her, because a square jaw scares you so flipping bad that you feel the need to shame her for it.
Everyone is a body positivity advocate until a girl with a rounder face shape is cast as a character in a live action you are NOT forced to watch? Seriously?
Iâve seen so many people on the internet calling them all sort of names, fatshaming them, insulting their work without even focusing on the acting. And Iâm like, whatâs to fatshame there? Let me tell you: nothing.
If I have to put it through your thick head like this, so be it. Even though I hate talking about and comparing bodies.
This below is a picture of Azulaâs actress.
She has the face card, she has the jawline, and she has a fit, enviable body. And you still have the audacity to âfat-shameâ her?
These two pictures are in costume. Again, face card and an enviable body. She even has the expression for Azula. You see a girl with a rounder shape of face and will automatically go âno sheâs too cute to be Azula!!â Dude. No. When she will actually deliver as the crazy girl we know, she will devour. She will, and you all will switch back because thatâs what you are, slimy switchers.
And now, onto Maiâs actress, a very beautiful girl with talent and looks. She is literally so pretty, and you dare hate on her? You dare shame her for how she looks? From what Iâve heard sheâs a minor, too, so this makes you 100000% more slimy and undeserving of any sympathy in my book.
This is her, this is the girl.
Sheâs literally so pretty. Maybe she hasnât got the same facial structure of Mai, but she delivered all her lines she had in the little screen time and with the discutibile scenes she was given. She was good. But you see a square jaw, a rounder shape of face, and are immediately triggered.
And you canât even use the stupid argument of âsheâs fatâ, because this is literally her.
A very normal, very healthy young woman. Not as skinny as OG Mai? So what? Sheâs still a fricking thin girl. Nowhere as âfatâ as you haters make her to be.
I shouldnât have to explain common sense and basic decency to grown adults, and yet here we are.
This is honestly so frustrating. In the year of 2024 you canât possibly justify insulting girls like this, with no shame. Itâs absolutely idiotic and shows very a big lack of brain cells. I see you, haters, behind your device, with your insecurities and shame for yourself, laughing at two girls who made it farther than you ever will. You can critique the acting once youâve seen it in full potential. Until then, shut your tramp up. This is very small dick energy of you.
I donât see why I should treat you with kindness when you are so eager to make this kind of jokes about pretty and in shape girls you are very obviously jealous of. Go touch some grass, incels.

[ID: A comic of Zuko and Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender. They are dressed in modern winter clothes, and Zuko is wearing Sokkaâs water tribe scarf. It is snowing. They are walking with their shoulders touching, and as Zuko talks, Sokka stares at him fondly.
âAzula said someone could smack me on the back of the head, and I wouldnât realize they were into me,â Zuko says. âSheâs crazy, right?â
With a smile on his face, Sokka hits Zuko on the back of the head, and Zuko cowers and makes an outraged expression. âOw!â Zuko said. âWhy the hell did you hit me?â
Sokka puts one arm comfortingly around Zukoâs shoulder. âSorry man,â Sokka said with an apologetic look. âI thought IâŚsaw a mosquito.â
âIn winter?â Zuko said, with a confused expression on his face.
In the background, Toph snickers. âHe did say it wouldnât work,â she said.
The bonus comic is Sokka and Zuko studying at a table. The caption at the top reads â1 Week Later.â
Sokka drinks water, and Zuko calculates with a confused expression.
Zuko yells: âHoly Sh*t!â and hits Sokka on the back of his head, and water sprays everywhere. âYou like me?!?â he said.
The final image is Sokka facedown on the ground, and Zuko standing over him.
âI like you too,â Zuko says.
âY-Yay,â Sokka says from the ground, and small hearts float above both of them. /End ID.]

Hey um, what if the Overblot boys told each other their backstories?
Mmm⌠Well firstly, I think it would take a lot of effort to arrive at a point where all of the OB boys would even feel comfortable being that emotionally intimate with the others. Many of the OB boys are highly guarded and resistant to putting themselves in compromising positions. For example, I can easily see Azul being paranoid that the others would use his background as blackmail; he would not risk having his own vulnerabilities becoming public knowledge. Would Leona really be okay with being sentimental in front of various people he dislikes, especially Malleus and Vil? Would Idia feel safe unpacking his trauma and grief in front of his peers? Etc, etc, etc.
Secondly, I think that even if the OB boys were hypothetically at the point where they were okay sharing their backstories with the others, it wouldnât change much about their immediate circumstances?? The OB boys generally donât strike me as particularly⌠empathetic? At least not automatically empathetic. Itâs something they would need to put effort into and actively work on. I imagine that theyâd otherwise just pull a Zuko-style âThatâs rough, buddyâ or potentially even say something tactless that rubs their peers the wrong way (for example, not fully understanding the situation or even downplaying one anotherâs trauma). Riddle (someone with very little to no experience with social media and entertainment mediums) might not get how being a celebrity influences Vilâs life, Leona might insult Malleus (someone whom he has a bone to pick with), everyone might still be upset with Malleus for what he did to them in book 7. etc. Each OB boy only has their own experiences as the lens through which they see and interact with the world, and itâs not that easy for just anyone to put themselves in the shoes of another person.
Hearing a (for lack of a better term) traumadump doesnât necessarily mean youâll connect with it or understand just how grueling it was for the person who experienced said trauma. It would usually take a significant amount of time and reflection (ideally facilitated by a licensed mediator or professional) to digest those stories in group therapy and to make sure that everyone actually understands one another. A surface-level story retelling alone in most cases isnât (again, for lack of a better term) âenoughâ, especially with how self-centered, emotionally immature, and different many of the OB boys are.
Think of empathy like a skill or a muscle. It isnât innate. You need to develop it and train it, and not putting it to use can lead to atrophy. And given how arrogant and independent your usual NRC student is⌠yeah, itâs definitely going to be something for them all to work on.
If you want to think of it another way, itâs like how different players will react differently to reading the OB boysâs backstories. Someone who experienced bullying similar to Azul could more easily empathize with him while also not fully âgettingâ the full scope of other stories they hear. Maybe they canât understand why Riddle still cares about the mother who mistreated him. Maybe they donât see why Jamil sacrifices so much for his family. It doesnât make the player a bad person for not understanding all the stories, it simply means they have a limited perspective. The same is true of the TWST characters; they, too, have incomplete perspectives and rely predominantly on their own points of views to make sense of the world.
Maybe knowing their backstories in advance would change some scenes in small ways (such as book 6, when they split up and then butt heads with each other). Theyâd know where the other boys were coming from, and how that informs how they act in present day. However, I maintain that I think not much would change from the original. In a stressful situation like book 6, they could easily slip up and say something insensitive/make assumptions about their behavior based on their background/overlook or not even consider their background in the first place since theyâre so focused on the current task. For example, Azul, feeling insulted that Riddle is underestimating him, could make a snide remark that just because his mother was a control freak doesnât mean Riddle also has to be. Jamil could still see Leona as a spoiled prince because, despite being treated like an outcast, he still grew up in immense privilege as royalty. They can so easily fixate on their own interpretations of events that it colors how they perceive others, rather than how they can relate to others no matter how similar or dissimilar their experiences were.
In other ways, I think the OB boys sharing their backstories with one another stifles potentially meaningful development. Character growth in TWST isnât a sprint, itâs a marathon, and weâre here for the long haul. What does depositing all the backstories in their laps achieve for the OB boys? It artificially puts them in a situation to âbetter knowâ their peers rather than let it happen organically or allowing them to grow closer through their own efforts. Letâs look at the Deuce-Epel beach scene from book 5. Do you think it would have been as impactful of a scene if Epel explained his life in the countryside and how he got his traditional views on gender norms to Deuce? Personally, I donât think so. The scene we currently have has them bonding and connecting through a shared activity (shouting at the sea), then having a heart-to-heart without a heavy backstory exposition. Itâs through that, not explicit backstory sharing, that the two form an attachment and become genuine friends.
Those are all my thoughts!! ^^

"Touch Base" Zuko x Reader
Summary: You get to touch Zuko's hair and it means a lot more to him than he expected. Word Count: 872 Genre: Fluff, F!Reader
"Wow, soft."
Zuko's hair slides between your fingers. Your wish is being granted by him today. A lucky indulgent day.
"I expected the texture to beâŚ" you form a claw and rake through his brown hair like a school nurse inspecting for lice "like Appa."
"âŚ"
He's offended.
"Like Appa." Zuko repeats with a flat tone. Appa grunts, responding to his name.
"She means that in a good way, buddy." Aang says. Always the mediator.
"Don't make me regret this." Zuko says.
He crosses his arms. If he had eyes on the back of his head they would be staring at you pointedly.
"Sssorry" You whisper faintly. You shut up as to not cut this moment short with your marathon runner of a mouth.
Gingerly you pet and rub the new hair growing on Zuko's scalp with your finger pads. The strands are surprisingly healthy and thick. Does he take care of his hair? Your hands brush from the roots to the ends to even out the hair oil. Occasionally scratching down the back of Zuko's neck. The tension in his neck eases. His whole head even bending to the side a little as you pull back his sideburns with fingernails. Zuko closes his eyes, subdued by the massage. Be damned with how he looks. Every vibration cascades from apex of his skull to the base of his spine. He can't ever remember being given treatment like this at all. "Maybe I could braid-"
"T-that's enough hair touching." Zuko waves your hands off his head. A light pink colors his cheeks. You smile and apologize. At least he was nice enough to entertain you.
"Why don't you ever let me touch your hair?" Katara asks Aang. He mocks a laugh as he cracks walnuts into a bowl.
"You did have hair for a while there, Aang." You say.
"Yeah⌠it didn't feel right." Aang rubs the back of his head with a bashful toothy smile. Probably trying to forget about what lead up to that hair growth.
--
Cricketfish sit on the lillies in the lakes. Filling the night with incessant chirping. Zuko tosses and turns. It's stupidly loud for a peaceful building. Plus the bed roll fibers prick him at every angle. He grunts. Giving up, he gets out of bed. Screw sleeping again. The gaang already had dibs on the bedrooms that didn't cave in from being abandoned. So he was left with the depressing children's play room. Sokka made sure to take a jab at him when they gave him the room. There's no way to check the time, so he'll have to wait out the sunrise. Quietly as he can, Zuko leaves the room.
The straw door is permanently pried open. Walking out into the hallway he can see walls lined with rounded windows and the view is extravagant, he never noticed it before. Being too caught up in pointless chases. Tall mountainous islands covered in verdant moss peak through dreamy clouds. Rushing water and peaceful creatures add music to the background. A thin lining of trees surround the building.
"Zuko."
Zuko turns his head, his heart switching gears at being caught up roaming the temple. He calls your name thinking he recognizes the tone. There is no response. Maybe he misheard.
The southern part of the temple was coaxing him, he follows, despite resistance pulling at his stomach. On the way, carvings of Airbenders being jovial and participating in ceremonies lay in the weathered stone. Whimsical imagery by day is haunting at night. Laughing monks mock him as he lights a small flame in his hand to guide him the rest of the way.
He's closer to the source of what called him. Curiosity licks. "Hello?" Zuko whispers.
He pauses.
All of the noise disappears, he could only hear his breaths and the crackle of fire. The south end of the temple bleeds out into a balcony that overlooks the land. The rails thick and crumbling. A blanket is folded up off to the side. He lets the fire go out and goes to the edge.
The sun should come up in a few hours. Fresh moon light glazes the edges of leaves on the trees underneath. Dewy fog coats everything.
Zuko looks at the blanket. Unlike the architecture, it looks fairly new. Plush.
The past month dragged on too long, treacherously tiresome. After pleading his case to the group, the guilt still ate at him. If he didn't get any sleep he'll get sick just like last time.
Zuko's not sure if he would admit it to you, but when you brushed out his hair and massaged his head, he felt peace. A stillness from the turmoil inside him. Each breath was clear and refreshing. The tightness capturing his body let him go for that fleeting moment.
Zuko isn't one for conversation. You were so delicate with him. He'd been touched by people before but even when you were just gratifying your want of touching his hair, you were still so attentive to him. The care you gave satiated a hunger he ignored.
Moving to the middle of the balcony, he sits cross legged. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He manages a smile.
"Thank you."

@zutaraweek day 3: union
a little follow up to this comic i did last year. i really liked the idea of union in a political context and this was a very round about way of that. like, a little tongue in cheek with all the different kids from different nations just sort of talking and gossiping together. teens doing teen stuff despite their high profile roles in society, that type of thing.
initially this comic was a lot more ambitious but some complications happened in my life which made me have to chip away at a lot of it. such as having it in full color, with backgrounds. there's been a lot of thought put into the world of the chief kya au, though! particularly related to yue that is not featured at all asdfghjk.
the more i worked on it, the more i got worried zuko might be a little ooc. but i was a bit inspired by crystal catacombs and the softness he had there. whenever i try to write him in this au, he's just usually just happy to be around katara so i'm just going to let him do what he wants.
Anyway, a transcript along with brief image descriptions is beneath the cut under my obligatory art links as well as in the alt text of the art!

Page 1: Zuko and Katara are at a gathering for those invited to the peace accords which seems to be more packed then usual.

Hey everyone! Here is a piece I did for the Zukka Big Bang 2024 :-) it was based off of an idea where modern day Zuko is an aspiring singer and is getting an album cover picture taken by Sokka who has an established music career. Unfortunately, the fic wasnât able to be completed for personal reasons on the authors part, but I still love the art and the concept :) hope yâall enjoy <3 @zukkabigbang2024
(ID under the cut)
[ID: Image 1 is a digital drawing of Zuko from the shoulders up. His hair is long and cut into a mullet and he has his ears pierced. He is wearing a black cut off tee. He has a nervous expression on his face and a very visible blush across his cheeks and nose. He is saying, âUm, like this?â to Sokka who is not pictured, but it is insinuated that Sokka is taking a picture of Zuko. The background is a light blue like the sky with minimal clouds, and directly behind Zuko is a flourish of orange and yellow lilies. The artists signature is on the shoulder and reads âsukidudeâ. End ID]
[ID: Image 2 is a digital drawing of Sokka holding a camera facing to the right. He is wearing a black baseball tee and his hair is up in his usual top knot from the show. He is looking off to the left with a nervous expression and a sweat bead on his temple. He also has a very visible blush across his cheeks and nose. Sokka is speaking back to Zuko from the first image saying, âUh- yeah, yeah. perfect⌠haâŚâ The background is light blue like the sky with small white clouds. The artists signature is on the shoulder and reads âsukidudeâ. End ID]
#this was fun to make!!! sad my group didnât get a fic to go with it but things happen and I totally understand :)#glad you all finally get to see it!#zukka big bang 2024#zukka#atla#zuko#sokka#zukka art

Fem!Sokka AU
So, I thought a little about this AU.
(For starters, I don't speak english, so, well.. ehe)
To begin with, she is at least 19-20 years old. I would like to make her older, because I like to draw beautiful adult women, but then the plot will not work. The age of all older ATLA teenagers has been raised. The age of the younger ones does not change.
The story is the same. Initially, Sokka is a man. He probably remained the only boy in the tribe for longer. This may affect Katara, as he has been her parent figure for longer than in the canon. In general, I believe in Sokka's parental vibes.
He's also a little more mature. Responsible, strong. But still a sexist. Father said that he was the only warrior of the tribe. Then he left them and went away with other men for many years. It couldn't end well. On the other hand, living among women affects Sokka more than he thinks.
So, about after Kiyoshi Island, gaang stops at the shrine of a female warrior. This is not Kyoshi, because I don't want Aang to feel that he is indirectly to blame for the situation. In general, Sokka offends the spirit with some kind of sexist comment. The Spirit takes revenge and curses him. Sokka falls into a magic pond. Poof! He's a woman. Aang has talked to the spirit, and the spirit is ready to cast spells on the water in the pond again. But she won't do it for two years. Lol
So, Sokka can only put up with it. Saving the world is more important than a little curse. Somewhere in the background, Zuko is trying to figure out where gaang took this beautiful woman and where they put that beautiful man. Really, where did he go? (Uncle Iroh is very funny)
The fact is that during the journey, Sokka realizes that he actually feels good. He likes it. In addition, he likes to be beautiful and do hairstyles.
Besides, becoming a woman, he feels the injustice of the situation at the north Pole more acutely. Sokka understands that putting someone in a frame because of gender is unfair. He and Yue become friends. Sokka kicks Khann's ass. And he also kills Zhao before the disaster with the Moon happens. Yue deserves to live.
In the future, Sokka thinks a lot. He supports his sister and Toph more than anyone. In fact, he used to have his father's vibes. Now it's the mother's vibes. Vibes of the coolest mom in the world. She can cut off the offenders' heads with a halberd. Literally.
In fact, I have nothing to justify the halberd with. I love halberds as much as I love women in sexy dresses. A lady may have small hobbies)
Okay, maybe Sokka decided to explore more weapons. She loves her boomerang, but does not refuse to develop like a warrior. Halberd is clearly defeating bending, haha. Maybe Sokka will be given some cool nickname on the battlefield. The Moon Witch? Heh
(Somewhere far away, Hakoda and the South Pole fleet are wondering what kind of Moon Witch is this? They will be surprised)
Perhaps before they meet after Ba Sing Se, Hakoda meets someone who has met the gaang before. Someone: You have two wonderful daughters! Hakoda: What?
So Zuko comes to gaang and asks where the boy has gone. The explanation was awkward because Zuko barely had time to accept that he was bi. What does it mean that the two people who make his heart beat faster are one person?
I forgot to tell you! Just because Sokka was bewitched by a spirit doesn't mean that Sokka trusts Aunt Wu! It's a matter of pride, lol
So two years go by, and you know what? Sokka does not ask the spirit to lift the curse. He's fine as it is.

I have been awake all night and I think, since we got to follow Zuko from S1 even though he didnât join the Gaang until the bitter end, we shouldâve gotten the same for Toph. In between season 1 and early season 2 plots, weâd occasionally cut to this earth kingdom noble family for seemingly no reason.
Ok they are rich and they have the daughter. Alright sheâs blind thatâs interesting. The Beifongs will comment about canon events and their daughter is quiet and perfect in the background. Then one episode we see her earthbend something small, intriguing. Also intriguing she only looks helpless and lost when other people are around. We get more solo perspectives of her, sheâs a bit more coarse away from her parents. Her earthbending continues to be used secretly, impressive but not monumental. We suspect sheâll be similar to Katara, an eager, untrained bender who learns as she teaches Aang. We wait with anticipation for this vulnerable girl to see the world and own her power.
And then they drop The Blind Bandit episode and every episode that follows are unchanged and oh. Oh. Now we are really meeting Toph.
#I would have loved lil segments of Toph being entirely bored and mundane#fans speculate the bits are âaverage persons view of the war#then it homes in more on Toph#maybe the gang will stay with the beifongs while aang searches for a teacher#maybe sheâll be in a love triangle with aang and katara#oh look sheâs a bender!#weâre gonna watch this spoiled vulnerable girl overcome her obstacles and become a hero#and then itâs like nah sheâs already at level 100 you just never saw#the idea of twisting audience expectations intrigues me#zuko needed 3 seasons of disaster and character development#Toph was already there by the time ep one begins#I find this funny#god iâm tired
