okay so i think a big part of why im finding it difficult to get back into writing for ayakashi is the elephant in the room: yukhei's character. i took my unexpected break kind of in the middle of when all of the stuff with him was happening, so i never really got a clear picture of it all. and since coming back, i can tell that nctzens haven't even come to a consensus on whether or not they still support him either. and then he's of course "on hiatus" in neopurgatory too, so...

anyway, i don't have a firm grasp on the situation, nor do i think i ever will. before i left i was debating retroactively swapping him out for sungchan (primarily to preserve the height, which is an integral part of the character).

i think that's still where i'm leaning towards, but if y'all have any feedback for me abt this, please lmk!!

alright i don’t know why you guys have made me the face of ot6 briize but i’m going to give you guys my thoughts on the situation that you clearly want very badly. i have been into kpop for a very long time. i will say two main things about this boycott.

the first is that i have genuinely never seen such a strange group of toxic solo stans/akgaes that hate on the groups fans and lowkey shade members under the guise of “loving all the members/trying to protect them”.

this boycott campaign is genuinely just solo stans mad that their bias isn't being treated the way they want. if this was truly about the wellbeing of riize, we would be demanding for sm to give them better security at airports so they don't get mobbed. we would've been urging sm to take legal action against malicious comments earlier. we would be demanding better preparations for their comebacks like getting an actual mini instead of a bunch of singles. but none of that is happening.

instead, there's this weird "i don't like the rest of riize because there's no seunghan" vibe about the boycott. like why are individual member activities suffering because of this? why are we swearing at the members online, saying things like sungchan doesn't care about riize, the rest of riize are fake except for eunseok, etc. why are we bullying and bothering briize not participating in the boycott? for not talking about seunghan when there's literally nothing to talk about? these are things solo stans/akgaes do, not people who claim to love their group.

my second thing is that if you want to boycott riize be my guest. HOWEVER i think it is important to face the facts here. SM will not suffer from this boycott nearly as bad as riize will. they are a rookie group in a new generation, and they have an exceptional momentum going. but the industry is cutthroat and it moves fast. if this boycott is “successful,” then it will truthfully only sabotage riize and not SM. even if riize's members don’t end up losing profit, i believe a successful boycott could do insane damage to their confidence/psyche. it could also possibly effect future comebacks and their faith in fans. i’ve seen how fear of a comeback failing can harm members of a group mentally and i don’t want riize to go through that.

i support riize as a group so i'm not boycotting. i stream their music and watch their variety content and buy their merch because i like riize. this is going to ruffle some feathers but if you don't do any of those things SOLELY because your bias isn't involved than you're not a fan of the group! you are a solo stan! that is just a fact!

and telling me the boys would want me to boycott is literally insane. why are we putting words into their mouths? riize literally had a live recently damn near begging briize to stay with them and trust them. the words “we are closer as a group than you think” literally came from shotaro’s mouth...so i will choose to believe what has actually been expressed by the members instead of theory and hearsay spread by fans. if you want to boycott DO IT, but don’t try to guilt trip briize by saying the boys would want it.

all of the members have given up so much and have gone through so much to be in riize. sungchan literally dropped out of MIDDLE SCHOOL to train as an idol. eunseok dropped out and sohee turned down acceptance into a university to train. shotaro and anton literally moved away from their ENTIRE lives to pursue their dreams. you think i’m gonna make them suffer or let circumstances out of their control get in the way of THEIR success? i absolutely can't go for that i'm sorry.

and one last thing, i'm not trying to shame seunghan fans. i feel for y'all i really do. this may be perceived as snarky or rude, but this comes from a place of care. if it is so painful and upsetting stanning riize you shouldn't stan anymore. kpop is supposed to be fun! stanning a group is supposed to bring you little moments of happiness and it isn't supposed to cause so much turmoil or bad feelings! this isn't supposed to be this serious either!

also, i believe alot of my asks regarding seunghan or calling me an ot6 stem from me not writing for him. this is my account and i can post what i want. you guys can make your own account and post what you want. like you guys i'm a working class adult who posts little fics, lets remember that! i write for fun and to share it with people who wanna read it. i don't know why this account has gotten this crazy, or how i've made people so mad. you do not have to follow me or this account if this is an issue. i understand and i would much rather not have these asks or this energy on my page anymore.

🎶 Last song I listened to: Angels Like You by Miley Cyrus. I feel like I'm overrepresenting how much Miley Cyrus I listen to because while I do like her she wouldn't be in my top 5 or anything. And yet I have a whole songfic about Violet Chemistry and I was coincidentally listening to a bunch of her songs yesterday while doing chores. Anyway, I'm a fan but not a stan.

📺 Currently watching: I am tremendously bad at watching things. I'll become obsessed and binge it, then the fixation wears off and I don't pick it up again for literal years. I am halfway through Bridgerton S3 and a few episodes into The Rookie S6, but those numbers haven't changed in a while

🤩 Current obsession: Klaroline, but that seems obvious, so I'll add that my most recent ADHD hyperfixation was 2 days ago and about the efforts to revive the thylacycline/Tasminian tiger through genome editing + looking into the attempts to vaccinate Tasmanian Devil against DFTD to prevent their numbers from declining further. (Many of my hyperfixations are zoology or paleontology based)

I don’t understand why JH fans think the promotion will be short. The album will be released in August. The teasing starts from 12/08, right after the end of Olympic and I suppose that’s a 2-week teasing so the album will be out on 26/08 (Monday). After that he can do 2-week promotion as a normal solo rookie, none forces him to wrap up his activities in August. Why be so dramatic? Maybe it’s later than other for the press confirmation but I don’t think it can help anything announcing his solo during the Olympic high time, it will get buried. The longer teasing period won’t help either. As for NCT in general, the hype of nonfan usually dies down quite fast without a video/music teaser, a bunch of photo is not as attractive to casual music listener. As a Kpop fan, I think 2 weeks is appropriate for a solo artist.

Ofc, there are still many problems going on with SM management but fans need to stop their pettiness over trivial things to show their bias are mistreated compared to others and focus on what really matters.

Jaehyun's album (the music, the fact it is happening finally) is less important than the status of the bias. And for the status sale numbers, promotional period, MV views - everything is compared with the other neos. The stans with this mentality will find fault and "not enough" in everything. Like with Tae the fact that he got two albums in the same astronomic year, that both albums consisted of his own songs wasn't enough, fans wanted a concert and a longer promotion despite him enlisting and participating in the last preparations for 127's album.

Jae has a tv-series, a movie, he is the centre in 127, replacing Tae, he has Prada, solo magazine pictorials, he is pretty noticeable on the latest album Walk, he represented k-pop on LA Kcon as a narrator, he performed with his favourate Western artist, he looks very happy this year.... not enough!!! He is mistreated! SM stands in the way of his solo career and hates him!

I agree with your points. Fans have saved money already, will buy the album in a 5 minute notice, and non-fans will care only once they see the MV/musical shows.

Imagine the melee that will happen once 127, wayv and dream neos will be releasing their albums simultaneously, there are not enough months in the year to sort them, heh. 2 neos per month.

Honestly bullying is so prevalent in NCT I am not at all surprised anymore. But I guess it goes against some peoples ideas of these boys being 'friends' like Dream stans threw a huge fit about the fact that SM was gonna let members graduate out of Dream but... they're just coworkers they didn't chose to be stuck together anymore than most of us with jobs. Sure I like some of my coworkers and ofc I'll play along nice with everyone when customers are around but I honest to god wouldn't voluntarily be in a room with some of these people if I wasn't getting a paycheck and I think many idols feel similar. But try to get that into the head of delulu stans who wouldn't let Mark gracefully age out of the kids bop unit of nct so he is stuck now working doubleshifts alongside Haechan and then the same stans that campaigned for Dream as a fixed unit will defend Haechan's bully??? For what is he in this unit it's a sham and a degrace and people don't deserve him. But no they don't wanna hear that Jeno is a bully because Dream are besties and evil SM tried to rip them apart actually when they wanted to phase older members out of the group that was so cruel and evil because they are friends not coworkers friends friendship is magic

the funniest thing to me is that without mark and haechan, especially mark and haechan, nct dream has nothing distinctive going on anymore. mark is the best rapper sm has had in ages, maybe ever, and haechan is an incredibly skilled vocalist with range. he can harmonize, he can belt, and he can riff. he’s no baekhyun or chen but he is a very good singer regardless. mark is a monster performer and nct is literally his life’s work but god forbid these two have to do evil, evil nct 127 comebacks. god forbid! and i firmly do believe mark and haechan weren’t allowed to graduate because they know that without them, dream is lacking. they’re just the next txt or enhypen or whatever (including the bullying. wow.)

anyways, i do very much agree with you. and i do honestly think that wayv are to some extend friends, because they had to be stuck in a dorm together for ages and went through shit and i think that does something to you, and 127 are probably the closest out of the nct units. sorry it’s not your teenage dream of the teenagers they shoved together being mean to their band members that are friends forever.

dream should have been a revolving unit and let members graduate, so the rookies could have debuted either there or in a nct u unit. but whatever.

also, jeno does not have the talent to make such remarks towards haechan. out of all people. not that talent has anything to do with it, but there’s a reason why haechan has an ost and was in a killing voice video, toured around the world, while jeno… went to fashion week. unfortunately, their job as idols is mostly to be musicians, though, so good luck to jeno and his future endeavors once dream is off the market and the next boy group will take over. the thought of mark and haechan being stuck with them while the rest of 127 enlists is horrifying to me, someone free them fr.

🌿 Pre-Debut

Although born in Seoul, he's a Jeju boy from the ages 7 to 12.

He was very sociable as a child, and his classmates were saddened when he transferred out of his school.

He joined the choir, and he went to Hawaii for it.

He was part of his school's broadcasting club. When he left to transfer to another school, he gathered the members of his club, and performed for them as a parting gift.

He played a lot of sports.

He was supposed to go to a school famous for soccer before he passed the SM Saturday Auditions.

He was a part of the table tennis club of his school.

He trained in Taekwondo.

🌿 Audition Story

Both his parents were musically inclined -- his mom is a vocalist and entertainer, as well.

He grew up listening to Michael Jackson a lot.

Shinee's Replay was the song that made him want to be an artist.

He was encouraged by his Mom to join the SM auditions in 2013. (Thank you, Mama Lee!)

He passed on the first round by singing "That XX" by G-Dragon. Upon the initial screening on the same day, he sang "Hello" by Huh Gak and then "Ugly Duckling" by Son Seung Yeon. He went back for the final screening and sang Justin Bieber's "Baby".

🌿 Training

Haechan was the youngest trainee when he joined SM.

He was called a prodigy during his trainee days.

He auditioned with his vocals but also trained in dance.

He is professionally trained in ballet, sports dance, jazz, and contemporary dance.

After training for a year in sports dance, he joined a competition and won 1st place.

He is also the best rapper among the trainees due to his innate musicality.

He often roamed around the training rooms and taught his fellow trainees tricks to survive in SM.

He debuted as a lead vocalist, lead dancer, and rapper.

In 2019, he was reassigned as a main vocalist.

NCT Dream

He was the 4th member confirmed for NCT Dream on August 20, 2016.

They debuted on August 24, 2016 with "Chewing Gum".

He debuted in NCT Dream as a main vocalist.

NCT U

On December 2, 2019, he was announced as a member of an NCT U subunit to release a STATION X.

They called their group "Four Seasons" with Haechan being summer.

Four Seasons released "Coming Home" on December 12, 2019. It is a ballad produced by Yoo Young Jin.

This solidified Haechan's main vocalist position among all active units of NCT.

Singer-Songwriter

Haechan's dream is to be a singer-songwriter.

During NCT 127's The Link concert in Seoul at the Gocheok Sky Dome on December 17, 2021, he released "Love Sign" -- the first of the 3 self-written songs that he produced with NCT Taeil and SM Producer Deez.

He also choreographed the dance break that he performed in the middle of the song.

The second song called "NYCT" was released on October 22, 2022 during The Link+ Concert in Seoul Olympic Stadium.

He still has one remaining song unreleased.

OST

He released his first OST on March 5, 2022.

It is entitled "Good Person (2022)" and a remake of Toy's song of the same title.

THE CHORUS INSTRUMENTAL OF XO IS SO CATCHY it's so pretty that instrumental is perfect wow

Idk if you've listened to the album, but it's so pretty 😔 it's so like consistent it's sound is so consistent this is good af AND THANK GOD MOONSTRUCK ISN'T AN INTRO I WAS SO SCARED IT WOULD JUST BE AN INTRO BUT IT'S AN ACTUAL SONG AND IT'S SO GOOD. When Dark Blood was released, I was obsessed with Fate it was like my favourite song (it's so good) and it was just an intro 😔

Sunghoon's vocal is shining sm on this album he isn't even my bias, but he stands out so much AND SUNOO TOO sunoo looks so beautiful the blonde suits him too much.

Jake's vocal tone IS SO BEAUTIFUL 😖 heejake (my bias line ☝️) slayed as per usual. Enhypen always does better I'm so proud of all of them I can't believe they're a four year old group this year (I'm sorry I had to yap about this)
