Hello! I hope you’re having a good New Year! Quick question, idk if it’s been touched upon before, what do you think about the theory of Sly being Divine’s kid (since they both share the same hairstyle- I know. It’s the only connection both characters have but the resemblance is too uncanny that it cant be a coincidence right?). I remember how that kid was supposed to take Yusei’s stardust but it was eventually scrapped and he was in the background for the rest of the show. So yeah xD

This has been lying in my ask box for an embarrassing amount of time, sorry! Truth be told, my new year has been a bit hectic, anon! But it always is. But now I have time to answer this at last.

Now, for the theory you mentioned—on one hand, I think it’d be weirdly hilarious if Sly were Divine’s kid because can you just imagine this poor kid having to hide that his dad is a megalomaniacal cult leader who was trying to raise a psychic army. Yikes.

On the other hand, though, if I put on my analysis goggles, this has about as much foundation in the show as Black-Winged Dragon has setup, doesn’t it. I concede that Sly and Divine have similar hairstyles, but I honestly think that particular hairstyle is more of a visual shorthand than anything. Both are proud, condescending characters with a certain snootiness to them, and I believe that snobby little coif they both have is meant to be a visual representation of that. (Which works, at least for me.)

(Also, taking the theory at face value once again for a moment forces me to ask the obvious question, of course: Who the hell would be the kid’s mother and do I even want to know?)

That said, I guess they both antagonise Yusei in a way (or were at least supposed to). I do still lament that Sly’s obsession with Stardust never went anywhere, though. (Just like the Arcadia Movement after the DS arc, so there’s another similarity, I guess.) We didn’t even find out why he was so obsessed with Stardust, poor kid. (And lost out on what could have been a mini-arc of the twins duelling Stardust back for Yusei. Oh well.)

Long story short, I think the idea of Sly being Divine’s kid is amusing, but ultimately bonkers. And their visual similarities read as character design shorthand to me. Which is not to say it couldn’t have made for an interesting mini-plot if it had been intentional and set up.

And in the au I am a sucker for childhood friends to lovers (that also means in three generations we had enemies to friends to lovers (rivalshipping) love at first sight (spiritshipping) and childhood friends to lovers. Which is very fun)

Um but I think I’ll leave that up to the reader. Since we won’t really see adult Luna and Sly.

They are raised around each other. Chazz is basically part of the Muto-Kaiba family at this point. He’s around all the time. He and Jaden treat each other like brothers. But anyone who’s who grow up with your parents friends children know it’s one of two things “let’s go see your cousins” or “let’s go see your friends”

While Luna and Sly are cousin in any sense (biological or legal) I can see how that can put a weird taste in some people’s mouths if Luna is calling Chazz “Uncle Chazz” and Sly is calling Jaden “Uncle Jaden”

On the other hand.

I think it has the potential to be really cute where the two have just had a crush on each other forever and everyone but them knows. Or worse Luna likes him when they are in elementary - early middle school and Sly likes her in late middle school - all of high school so their crushes are miss timed but they finally get together at the end of high school.

It has a lot of potential to be very fun.

I will say I’m not a fan of having two very young characters/people (and I’m talking like 10 or younger) and all the older characters around them joking about them getting married. I feel like it puts weird expectations on the kids. Just let them grow up and figure out who they like.

So as long as no one in the family is trying to push the two into dating we’re all good. Yes there will be jokes once they are older and it’s obvious that they have a crush on the other but it doesn’t start till the kids obviously like each other.

In conclusion we’re going to leave this as a chose your own adventure. In cannon I’m all for it but in the au I can see how it would be weird for some people, so pick your flavor.

Lucid dreaming

Aka Caleb's standard myth

Spoilers:

First off- why did every myth not have a satisfactory ending?! Infold, you'll put every single girl in depression. I wasn't over Sylus's dragon myth and then this?

Onto main-

MC visits Skyhaven, for a mission with Farspace fleet .

Caleb is super smart. Hell, he'll give even Dr.Zayne a run for his money. Fucking sly fox this guy is.

He guesses her purpose, invites him over to his place.

Beautiful house. Beautiful place.

Long story short, he's nominated as a new Commander of Tuum fleet, with the previous commander and soldiers being placed under him. MC is there to investigate this and he gives her the files for clearance.

MC notices that things ain't adding up. People who were hostile, after medical examination are now docile. Before she can catch one person, Caleb comes in with food and tells her he has a meeting.

Caleb- knows MC better than she knows herself. And has planned down 20 steps ahead of her. Never give this man chess to play. He'll wreck everyone hands down.

Cue MC snooping around( again) and getting caught( again). Really girl? Really? Why the hell .... There's a reason you're on field and never in covert ops..but Pls Learn Subtlety

She manages to steal a chip and access his files before being revoked access and Caleb confronts her. Says either you be happy and stay out of this mess or I'll be dragged to HQ and questioned.

At this point- Caleb is shady af. Like so shady he makes Sylus pale in comparison.

Next up mega banquet to celebrate Caleb's promotion.

Caleb is attacked by the previously demoted colonel and company, he sends MC away to safety while he deals with them.

Guy has no qualms about manipulating her just so she can stay safe?! Like red flag but also green?

MC waiting for him realises she's been duped, and self implants a chip without him knowing.

The man that he is- goes to her- tells her she is his forever- and faints in her arms.

Guy is scary fine but absolutely down for her. Like yandere tendencies and controlling and possesive...gurl you down bad for him? It's toxic but...idk at this point. She enables him a lot ngl

Next- Caleb faints, has a seizure, and loses all his memories thanks to his chip

MC- she plays him and tells him he is hers. Gives no in lination of telling him anything about his lost memories. ( GURLL WHATT?!!)

They go to an amusement park- she faints thanks to her chip- turns out Caleb had all his memories and was playing her.

What in the 5D chess is this??!! Caleb my man. My amazing hunk of revived corpse and flesh. Wut. I'm shook. But very very impressed with your tactics ngl. Extremely well played.

MC is taken to infirmary to get her chip removed forcefully - she will lose her memories but will retain some recall of it.

cue her throwing a fit- refusing it- Caleb somehow convincing her ( slight gaslighting?)

She's done with him. Removes his tie and coat.

Those bite marks on his hand? Hers. Apparently he gives her his hand everytime she's sick so that she doesn't accidently bite her own tongue off. ( So sweet man but don't distract me)

MC is ultimately forced to have the chip removed. Has little recollection of ehatvexactly happened on Skyhaven. And goes back.

End note-

Infold I will curate every single myth and play it on loop till you cry.

Point is- amazing amazing portrayal of Caleb and backstory. Human experimentation for the ultimate weapon, Caleb being chosen and put through it( not all details revealed yet in myth) , him being forced to give up his emotions and humanity and yet, he never forgets MC.

Caleb is the walking red flag of LADS but.. idk even at this point. Guy's like the morally grey character with a solid backstory and reasoning for it. Can't wait for more.

To the fans thinking Sylus is a red flag? Brothers and sisters, compared to this Bucky Barnes inspired persona, he's a green forest.

Propaganda under the cut!

Askeladd:

1. "The funny thing about Askeladd is he keeps killing the dad's of characters and then adopts them.

At the very start of the show he kills the main character's father. The 6 y/o main character vows revenge and follows him around trying to kill him for like ten years. Askeladd does not take this seriously at all and is basically his mentor and new dad, even though Thorfinn despises him.

Then later they meet Canute (prince of Denmark). Askeladd kills his right-hand-man/father-figure to toughen Canute up, then becomes Canute's evil advisor/father figure in his quest to overthrow his biological father (king of denmark)

Askeladd ends up killing the king of Denmark as well which makes us three for three on the father-killing.

None of this ever bites Askeladd in the ass btw he's free to kill and adopt and is having a grand old time. He's so funny about it, too"

2. "Askeladd is the leader of a band of Vikings. He was hired to kill a man named Thors. Thors' son Thorfinn witnessed the murdur of his father at the age of six and swore to avenge his death by killing Askeladd. So he joined Askeladd's band. Askeladd, who despite being the cause of Thors' death respected the man, and agreed to duel with Thorfinn if he followed his orders during fights. Thorfinn was defeated each time and Askeladd (in a twisted and mocking way) always gave him advice how to be better. In the end Thorfinn didn't kill Askeladd because - as Askeladd alluded to by his own story of killing someone out of hate - he would've killed him sometime earlier during those 11 years if he really hated him. In the end Thorfinn realized too late that from a hated person Askeladd became kind of a father figure to him during those 11 years. (The mangaka called Askeladd 'an amazing tsundere dad')

Canute is the youngest son of the Danish king. When the Danes were fighting in England the king sent Canute to lead the siege of London so Canute could die there and there wouldn't be any fights for the throne in the future. Askeladd, being a sly mastermind who plays 5D chess at all times, decided to save Canute from the enemy forces so when he'd return him safely to the king he could get into a position so he could influence Canute to protect Wales. But before that he had to get rid of Canute's previous adoptive father, Ragnar. (Yes, it's a pattern.) So when Ragnar was dying, he told Askeladd that ""Btw, the king hates his son and wants him dead"", so Askeladd had to recalculate a lot of things, and in the end he and Canute worked together to kill the king and create a situation where Canute could come out as a strong heir.

In his last minutes, Askeladd decided to not chose between Wales and Canute, and saved both instead, and used his last breath to convince Thorfinn to let go of his anger.

Sometimes a family is a half-Danish mercenary who kills father figures, an gremlin child from Iceland with anger issues, and a timid Danish prince who goes through a strong character developmen by becoming rejecting his religion."

Rune Saint John:

“Oh my god, oh lord where do I start. Within the FIRST CHAPTER of the FIRST BOOK he accidentally adopts a teenager in exchange for a magical artifact during a deal with a fae- this teen is Max! He then later adopts Quinn, whos older brother he is dating. Then he adopts the three Dawncreek children after a series of events in the second book that i wont get into due to plot spoilers, but it was ✨traumatic✨ AND the author had confirmed that there will be ANOTHER kid joining his found family in the upcoming 4th book. Rune is the chosen one, there are MANY prophecies about him, to the point that Quinn; who has the ability to see future probabilities, finds it difficult to look at him. He experienced horrific sexual assault, and he just wants to be a decent person and look after these traumatized magic children. Every member of his found family is a chaos gremlin- including Rune. Honestly this book series is so so very near and dear to my heart, and it handles topics like grooming and assault with incredible tact and care and more people should read about Rune and his queer disaster found family.”

Meet Blythe Denton, an Ancient Gear user set in the 5D's universe. He's a shady, sly man who relies on fear tactics and manipulation to survive in the slums.

Not the most detailed or fleshed out, but for what I do have:

Blythe was born in Satellite, and ended up becoming one of its many orphaned children. Less because of his parents died, more because they abandoned him due to financial reasoning. Blythe ends up staying at an orphanage for a good portion of his life. Once he's a teenager, he starts dealing in shady business and makes some money by smuggling in high-demand high-priced items. It's a dog eat dog world out there, he has to do what he has to do.

Eventually Blythe got all buddy-buddy with a guy from Sector Security, ended up getting some really high-priced and rare items smuggled into Satellite. They were decently close friends, 'til his buddy went MIA for a week. Turns out his cop friend ratted him out due to pressure. He backstabbed Blythe and tried to be a coward and run off, not wanting to face the consequences. Absolutely infuriated, Blythe tracked down and chased his ex-friend on his motorcycle, ready to beat him down.

They duel and other sector security gang up on him. Blythe's d-wheel is slammed against a wall and spins out, sending him flying off violently. His arm gets mangled by his own machine and becomes unsalvageable. Blythes helmet is destroyed, and the impact breaks the right side of his face. He's transported to a hospital in Neo Domino, his arm is amputated, and he needs surgery and stitches in various places. Alongisde that, his left leg is rendered permanently injured from said accident, and Blythe lost his right eye.

After he's stable, Blythe's arrested and thrown into jail. He get his first marker, which is the tear-streak line under his right eye. [Not including the broken line marker.] His buddies have to gather up everything to pay his bail, and he's taken back to Satellite.

Wracked with anger and grief, Blythe dedicates himself to seeking revenge. With nothing but his mouth and his other working arm, he manages to build himself a working prosthetic, and then a fully functional cybernetic eye. Since his leg didn't need amputation, and therefore cannot be replaced by a cybernetic device, Blythe designs himself a sword-cane. It's a great way to defend himself, while also accommodating his chronic injury. He ends becoming part of a mafia/hitman situation, since that's the only other way he can think of making proper money- and acting out his revenge. He's got people to pay back and take care of anyways.

Until the reformation of Neo Domino and Satellite, Blythe takes the lives of anyone, really. Money's money, and he's making a decent living off of it. Once full access is open to Neo Domino, he's given his biggest job. Yusei Fudo.

This happens Pre-WRGP, before Bruno's arrival/addition. Assuming it's another team wanting the win, Blythe's initially hesitant, but with the sum offered he'd be able to move from Satellite and maybe even quit this gig altogether.

Unfortunately with the rest of Team 5D's present, Blythe's caught, and gets the snot beat out of him. He's given another chance to finish the job, and fails miserably once more. It's argued he did so on purpose, but nobody can be sure. In a twisted manner, he ends up becoming a contact of the teams. He's got connections in the shadows, and he proves to be useful.

Although, he does camp out to hide from authorities, and steal the teams snacks. Much to their dismay.

There is always a peaceful, honouring, honest way to move through all life - it is in the centre - making right on all past choices, and refining your own beliefs -

Spirit is shaking things up for all to go within and ascend -

There is a reason that the breaking occurs; so stand up and know you are Able to transcend and know only you can fix such; go within and act of pure heart and making right to clear your own way;

don't get involved in anyone's karma and choices of their ego and self issues;

All have to go through see the beliefs and choices - learn, grow.

All gotta go through alchemy, learn the lessons, do the inner work, make right, make a list of how to correct, what beliefs are at the bottom of every block, and tower - whatever you do to another is coming back - how about self value, worth that is sacred and aligned with spirit not ego - ego is false - wounding and issues of self, others - none own or control and are the writers of anyone - thus spirit will bring the same control blocks;

Let none drop and dump on your door. have them learn the karma lessons - God and their guides will not allow the free pass - all gotta go within and know and discern;

Be selfish when it comes to designing yourself; only go within for this, seek, read, research, go within again, seek inner guidance, pay attention to how you feel; this is ascension - surrender to no others story - wants, needs; you are here to learn and be self designing and self sovereign within your own unique gifts and release all old roles and definitions for anyone to fix you and rely on you - allow all to be self reliant - period -

All affects the all - give respect to all that want to move on and be given to equally and in respect and to have all their own credit where credit is due; never jump into anything with anyone that is moving through mess and tower moments; all are in the midst of change, ascension - honour the process and do it alone - co-dependence is not a thing you do in a powerful tower moment - dark night of the soul are there to wake you up - so go within -

Going by the ideas inkblackorchid's fics gave to me, one of the core aspects of Dark Signer match-ups is that some are more tenuous than others.

Crow-Bommer match-up was largely so Yoshida could have Crow as a Signer, and the Series overall could have Crow as the third character, so naturally we defeaulted to Jack-Bommer relationship since that wasn't resolved in the Dark Signers arc.

Ruka-Lua's main conflicts in the Dark Signers arc were with Divine, and Demack, both of who are irrelevant after it. Bringing both, or either of the two would also require developing their characters further, which the show proper didn't fully do (Tag Force games, and other games do it somewhat better).

Both of their main ecosystems, the Spirit World, and Duel Academia, were the main focus of the immediately previous Series GX, so much like why didn't focus too deeply in the Xyz Dimension due to ZEXAL being before ARC-V, a lot of the potential storylines would have been retreads of GX plotlines.

Of course, Sly's arc was also dropped, since its episode's writer left after doing the Placido Duel, as we discussed before.

This somewhat underscores the difficulties of giving the rest of the cast sufficiently organic dedicated mini-arcs for their Signer Dragon variations for a future 5D's reboot. Aki, and Lua are probably the easiest ones for their pre-existing set-up, Crow, despite his high amount of screentime, has very little meaningful screentime (Bolger, and Jaeger capture 2 two-parters the most obvious ones, introducing Black-Winged Dragon, and Aurora respectively).

In the context of Lua & Ruka, much like how we discussed it would be easier for a future ARC-V project to have a more proper Xyz arc without ZEXAL being too close it, a future 5D's project can focus on the two locations without GX's presence near it, but there would be other issues such as managing the pacing.

By the way the Spectrobes will get involved in unorthodox ways in Yu-Gi-Oh one of which being that Phos sort of has too enter a tournament because of one.

You see Phos did find another Fossil in 5D's universe after digging up Torga's unfortunately that Fossil was made too adorn a trophy of a tournament being held in New Domino

Which left Phos with 2 choices

Either Duel too win the Tournament or pull a Sly Cooper and steal it

And Phos like too not steal the Trophy if it can be helped so it's time too Duel

Were in the episode timeline this event will be placed I am not sure but I am thinking of maybe making this .5 episode, still gotta figure out were too place it though...

After episode 5 sounds perfect honestly and so does Phos tournament arc. While the group are looking for clues about Yusei's whereabouts, Nervin notices a flyer for the tournament. He would've ignored it if it wasn't for what looked to be a star shaped Spectrobe fossil adorning the top.

Phos confirmed it was indeed an actual fossil, particularly a Mugopod. There was a debate about what to do since stealing it could risk a trip to the Facility. Eventually the Spectrobe User decided to win the tournament.

Although things get tricky when the wielder of the Black Rose also joins in.

Jaden's work sometimes keeps him away from home for weeks a time, and Takehiko will eagerly glue himself to his father's side upon return, demanding to hear about the other dimensions. He longs to go see them himself and definitely wants to follow in his father's footsteps.

He's not the instigator, usually, but he will eagerly follow along with any mayhem his friends cook up and gladly fan the flames of anarchy.

My nichest 5Ds heacanon

There’s this kid at Leo and Luna’s school with black hair and an omnipresent scowl.

(His name is Sly.)

Based on literally nothing, I have decided that he is Chazz’s nephew.

He’s the son of Chazz’s older brother, but Chazz took over guardianship because his brother is a massive garbage pile. Sly is still kind of figuring himself out and unlearning a lot of his childhood upbringing, as such really resembles early character development Chazz; Snotty, rebellious, and still very disillusioned by money, which Chazz is trying to teach him out of. (Ever wonder why Sly wanting to steal stardust dragon never came up again? It’s Chazz. He found out about it and gave Sly a talking to.)

Now, I also choose to believe Chazz is still a big time duelist in 5Ds era, and is basically keeping the standing duel scene alive through sheer stubbornness. And, because he’s still very much making it his thing to use low level commons and unwanted cards, the satellite bros absolutely idolized Chazz Princeton when they were growing up. Jack especially, (because he is also a drama queen) actually styled a lot of his “Master of Faster” persona off him.

So one day, when Sly is hanging out with the rest of the kids at the garage after school, he notices a faded promo on the wall, and loudly asks

“Why do you have a poster of my lame uncle hanging up?”

And Yusei, Crow, and Jack LOSE THEIR GODDAMN MINDS.
