Doing a few sketches of the Long quiet, I wanna get a feel for what this character would feel like in this setting. I want to think that as she changes he changes in smaller ways. Slay the princess has a lot of interesting design elements.

Sooo I don't have the Slay the Princess game and I don't really know all the endings but

One version of the princess I'd like to see is a child. A child, who doesn't know why or how long they've been stuck here, unable to remember anything about herself other than the fact that she is a princess and that someone is coming to kill her.

She doesn't know if she's going to destroy the world. She doesn't know if she wants to. She doesn't know if a world exists beyond her prison, and she's scared and alone and so, so tired that she might not even try to save herself.

But what children have, untempered by maturity and adulthood, is a sense of the extreme absolute. Everything is black and white, no grey areas. If people are mean and cruel, they should be punished. If the hero wants to kill her, he must be evil. If the narrator wants her to die, he must be evil. If the whole world wanted her to be locked away forever and die quietly, they must all be evil and all deserve to die.

Things may be difficult to create, but they are laughably easy to destroy.

And at the end of the day, it's all just a game, isn't it?

My idea is to have all the voices (plus narrator to round it out), put them on a 3 round-question bracket to see which voice is the champion. I think I'll keep each match as a day poll.

Was going through my fic thoughts note on my phone this morning, and I saw one about the third grade school play Bev and Bill kissed during, and now I have Thoughts.

It’s implied that the play was The Frog Prince, since Bev still has the program in her room:

So we can assume that Bill was the frog and Bev was the princess, due to the aforementioned kissing, which leads me to wonder why it was that Bill was cast as a main, I assume speaking roll in this play??

(Unless the frog isn’t a speaking roll in their play, which is possible. But I just don’t know if I see Bill willing to audition for a speaking roll with his stutter, or the teachers being willing to cast him as such, unless it was like, his SLP’s idea as a kind of speech therapy or something. Or maybe he was the only kid they could trust in the roll or something lol)

This also lead to me think about what Stan, Richie, and Eddie were cast as in the play. I looked around at different versions and there aren’t actually many roles in most versions of the story, which made it a little difficult.

I don’t see Stan really trying to score any sort of big part, and would probably be happy working backstage or something. Richie would have no problem on stage obviously, and would probably have some sort of small, on stage speaking part, like a jester at the castle or something, something to keep him out of trouble for the most part, and Eddie would probably end up as like, a lily pad lol wearing all green with a cute little lily pad shaped hat and he would horrified but would look adorable, and Richie would tel him this every single day. (Cute cute cute!)

Anyway all this to say that if I was to ever write this, the only thing I have down in my notes is:

Greta: Richie should be the frog. He wouldn’t even need a costume

Richie: Hey, same with Greta as the evil witch. Look at that.

I found the right composition for this Slay the princess piece. I've been watching many @ssavaart videos lately and his inspiration from Art Noveau and thought this composition looked beautiful. However, I do think the subject is far from the piece.
