Gon's arms being injured in every arc may have more significance than I thought.
While I'm confident everybody in the fandom has noticed this by now, I've never seen it dug into more deeply than just acknowledging it at its face value. So I started to really think about it.
First and foremost, whenever Gon loses/hurts one of his arms, it conveys courage, bravery, and selflessness.
Gon's arm is broken in the Hunter Exam because he refuses to forfeit his match with Hanzo. He wants a fair fight, and he's not giving up until he gets what he wants, even if it literally costs him an arm (haha) and a leg (hahaha.)
(also consider when gon breaks illumis hand to show har far he's willing to go when it comes to protecting and defending killua, even if illumi is way way way way wayyyy stronger than him)
In Heavens Arena, Gon's arm is broken while he participates in a nen battle knowing one singular form of nen. He fought, knowing he would lose, just for the sake of getting stronger.
In Yorknew, his arm is almost broken by Feitan after (somehow) having the courage to tell a Phantom Troupe member straight to his face that he's a hypocritical piece of shit murderer. (Like wow)
Greed Island is a fantastic example! Gon willingly lets his hands get BLOWN OFF for the sake of having an advantage in a fight he practically stood no chance in.
Then the Chimera Ant Arc where Killua can just barely save Gon in time. Where Gon makes the tragic connection that in the long run, he could be just like Kite while sacrificing his life to avenge him.
Yes yes, in every instance Gon injuring his arms is to convey how courageous he is.
While yes, it does show bravery, it also shows how little Gon cares about the effects of getting closer to meeting Ging has on his body.
Injuries, pain, are nothing to Gon because he won't let it be. Gon has this mindset of being so so so much weaker than he really is. He says it himself.
"I must be the weakest hunter ever!"
While comparing himself to everyone he's met on his journey.
But if Gon is weak, there's no way he's ever going to be a successful Hunter, ever going to meet Ging or be even slightly close enough to being respected by him.
So while Gon (with the help of nobody, NOBODY (please guys, Killua hardly ever sings his praises aloud,)) naturally, can't help his low self-esteem, He can dismiss whatever happens to him like some kind of freak of nature, never dwelling on anything for too long.
The one thing Gon can control is how he responds to disrespect or harm when it comes to himself.
So... If gon just so happens to lose an arm at least annually, it's not that big of a deal for him
OK, that's all, share your thoughts, I was gonna put more but I want to go watch Greed Island. so toodleloo for now.

Yuri posting time. These are ships I personally vibe with from what I post about on here.
Higuchi and Gin (BSD): Okay, I'm not sure I can really explain this properly because it's so entwined with the plot of a particular fic I've been wanting to write about them, and I don't really want to spoil where it goes too much? Basically, I love the potential of two characters who (it's implied) got involved with dangerous work for the sake of their siblings. Higuchi's idealized view of romance contrasts with Gin's survival mentality (which is similar to Akutagawa's). At the same time, Higuchi gives Gin opportunities to express different sides of herself. They both work for the sake of others. Okay, so canonically, there isn't a lot there, because there is little exploration of the themes of BSD through these two characters, unfortunately. But, with a combination of "what if I explored the themes through these characters", some influence from O-Gin and Higuchi-sensei's works, and a touch of my own personal brand of "fuck it, we ball, and see where it rolls", I think there's a lot of fun things you can pull at.
Higuchi and Tsujimura (BSD): Not a long-term relationship. They're best friends who had a brief fling and then decided to remain friends. To me.
Wells and Sasaki (BSD): Absolute crack ship that I have not stopped thinking about since you suggested it @lucythejudge. It's so funny.
Meryl and Milly (Trigun): !!! THEM!!! AUGH! They spent!!! Eight months navigating the apocalypse together!!! Milly's smile and presence is enough to help Meryl out of her dark thoughts! Milly is unable to sleep when Meryl is in danger! Milly challenges Vash and Wolfwood when they try to stop her from rescuing Meryl! Meryl has complete faith in Milly to intervene when she has a literal contract killer pointing a gun at her head!!! They're always at each other's sides! THEY!
Coco and Agott (WHA): They give me slight killugon vibes (also maybe lumity - but I've never actually watched owl house unfortunately). Cute and pure. I hope they continue to inspire each other. :)
Theta and Morena (HxH): Saw art for this once. They haven't even interacted. But still, my brain thinks about it and goes ohohohoho
Ann and Shiho (P5R): Ahhh... they want to be strong for each other... avenging Shiho was Ann's reason for awakening... ahhhhhh
Ann and Mika (P5R): I just think Ann's canonical admiration for women who are mean is incredibly funny and so real. Get her a mean girlfriend.
Makoto and Hifumi (P5R): Okay, they hit it off immediately and also I want to see how intense they get over a game of shogi. Everyone quietly backing away from them... lmao. Also I think it's nice because Makoto could understand Hifumi's struggles with expectation and wanting to help her family, and Hifumi offers a familiar setting (intellectual, strategic) with opportunities for Makoto to expand her understanding as well as form a solid connection. They should be best friends at least!
Bonus:
This idea I had for a fucked up polycule that never actually becomes a polycule and is literally just Yosano, Wells, and Mary all being needed for some kind of research, with a stressed Tsujimura as their supervisor. There is... some kind of tension happening amidst the often inadvisable scientific decisions being made. No sex or romance actually ever occurs but there are conversations that sound suspiciously like flirting that usually end in Yosano gleefully hacking at something or someone in her temporary office, Mary nearly downing the entire grid because she diverted all the power to her latest project that then promptly exploded, or Wells vanishing then abruptly and calmly reappearing minutes later with no explanation except "the world will survive another day". Tsujimura is about ready to tear her hair out. The cat thief drops in sporadically to cause extra chaos. This too, is yuri.

The Young Butler (KilluGon Long fic)
An alternative story where Gon is recruited from a young age to work as a Butler for the Zoldycks. KilluGon. Slow-burn romance.
Chapter 2. Together
(Notes at the end) You can find it too on AO3 here: The Young Butler - Kisayuri - Hunter X Hunter [Archive of Our Own] Or here (in Spanish): El joven Mayordomo - Kisayuri - Hunter X Hunter [Archive of Our Own] I hope you like it :)
That wasn’t the first time Illumi had poisoned him. He must have been barely three years old when his family started slipping small amounts of all kinds of substances into his food, all with the goal of gradually getting his immune system used to the toxins. Sometimes the poisons were mild; other times, though, they tore him apart from the inside, leaving him on the brink of collapse.
Killua despised it.
The bitterness in his mouth, the fire in his throat, his body fighting, rejecting the poison, screaming inside. For what?
But he was a Zoldyck. Enduring this was his duty… ...wasn’t it?
He curled up on the damp ground. As soon as he felt the poison burn its way down his throat, he fled the mansion to the woods, now hiding near the wall by the gate, trying to make himself as small as possible, invisible. His mind felt clouded, making it harder and harder to distinguish the sounds around him. He stifled a sob. He wasn’t afraid of the forest. What he feared was inside him now, burning him up, but it was also in his own home.
Suddenly, with some difficulty, he made out the clumsy sound of footsteps approaching him.
“Killua?”
No, no, no. He didn’t want to be seen like this.
Why did it have to be him, of all people?
“…Go away,” he managed to mutter.
Just saying those words made his throat burn again, and a retch tore through his stomach like a knife ripping him apart from the inside, relentless. He buried his face deeper into his arms, trying to hide the trembling in his body.
But the boy in front of him didn’t make any move to leave.
“But Killua, are you hurt? I-I can go tell someone...”
The moment he felt Gon’s hand on his shoulder, he snapped his head up and angrily swatted it away.
“I said GO AWAY!!” he exploded, then jumped to his feet and backed away from him. No, Gon couldn’t see him like this. Not now. Fragile, defenseless, broken.
Gon stood there, motionless, silent, watching him with those eyes that never knew what it meant to give up. That look of endless concern only made Killua feel more vulnerable, weaker.
Killua looked away, gritting his teeth as another wave of pain hit him. He could feel the tears welling up, but he refused to let them fall. He couldn’t allow himself to cry.
“Go,” he ordered again.
“You don’t have to do this alone, Killua,” Gon insisted gently, stepping forward cautiously.
Killua shook his head, still unable to meet his gaze. Defeated, he leaned back against the wall and let his body slide down until he was sitting on the ground again.
“…Please, just leave me alone,” he pleaded.
He closed his eyes and buried his face in his knees once more, hoping Gon would give up and walk away.
"Killua..." Gon began, his breath slightly unsteady, as if he were gathering the strength to say something. "I… I know what you’re going through, too."
His voice was so quiet that for a moment, Killua thought he’d imagined it.
"What...?" he whispered, opening his eyes to look at him.
With a sigh, Gon sat down on the ground in front of him, and for the first time, Killua noticed it. The slight tremor in his hands, his uneven breathing, a drop of sweat sliding down his temple.
"Because of the training... it's not just you," Gon continued, making an obvious effort to keep his voice steady. "Sometimes they give me something, too. All of them, actually." He shrugged. "Not as strong as what they give you, I guess, but..."
He didn’t finish the sentence, but Killua didn’t need him to. His eyes widened, unable to process what Gon was hinting at.
"What… are you saying?" he murmured, trying to take it in. "You too…?"
"Yeah..." Gon admitted, with a sad smile. "But I didn’t want to tell you before. I wasn’t supposed to…"
Killua watched him closely, and suddenly he saw it clearly: something was different about the boy standing in front of him. Gon, always so strong, so sure of himself, was vulnerable now, just like him. The same poison running through his own veins was in Gon’s as well. A flood of questions rushed through his mind. How long? Who was doing this? Why hadn’t he run away, when he could have? No, he hadn’t run. He had come to find him. Despite everything.
“Why…?” Killua began, his voice barely a whisper, no longer trying to hide the tears. But Gon cut him off before he could say more.
“Because you don’t have to do this alone!” Gon exclaimed, grabbing him firmly by both hands. His eyes locked onto Killua’s, filled with determination. “No matter what happens, Killua, we’re in this together, okay?”
Killua pressed his lips together. And for the first time in a long while, he realized he truly had someone by his side in the midst of that pack of wolves. Someone he could trust, someone genuine. Someone real.
Is this what it’s like to have a friend?
His lips released a shaky sigh.
“Together…” he murmured. Gon nodded.
“Together.”
~~~~~~
Killua woke up with a faint bitter taste in his mouth. It was barely noticeable, but it was there. He grimaced in disgust. Again?
Three years had passed since then, and they were still trying, despite him proving time and time again that he could handle far worse. At twelve, his body had already been exposed to hundreds, maybe thousands of poisons. Nothing surprised him anymore. He rolled his eyes. And yet, his brother kept insisting on testing new methods to make him stronger, more resilient. As if he wasn’t already.
He got out of bed, dressed quickly, and made his way down the hall toward the entrance. His steps were silent, barely touching the floor, while his mind wandered through half-formed plans for the day.
“Mother,” he greeted flatly, not slowing down. She was waiting around a corner, but he walked right past her.
“Hello, darling.” She gave him a wide, affectionate smile. “You really shouldn’t go out today. Why not spend some time with your brother Milluki?”
Killua stopped and shot her a cold look. He knew exactly what that meant.
“I think he has something for you.”
He clenched his fists, biting back the urge to respond. Without saying another word, he turned on his heel and headed in the opposite direction. It didn’t matter. He knew he could escape whenever he wanted.
~~~~~~
"You're late," Milluki said, not taking his eyes off his computer.
Killua stepped through the doorway, closing it behind him. He gave the room a quick glance as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. The pale glow from the screen was the only light in the workshop.
"Mother said you wanted to see me." He raised an eyebrow, hands sliding into his pockets. "What do you want?" he asked, his tone cold, emotionless. They both knew he was asking out of formality—he was well aware of what this was about.
Milluki let out a smug chuckle, pushing his computer aside and swiveling in his chair to face him.
"Oh, nothing special. Mother and Illumi asked me to make sure you're still... in shape. You know, wouldn’t want you getting too soft."
Killua felt a knot tighten in his stomach, but his expression didn’t change. Milluki had always enjoyed this game, though over the years, the fear it once sparked had almost completely faded. Now, it was just a routine—a nuisance, a formality he had to endure in exchange for living in that place.
“Come on, Killua, don’t act tough,” Milluki said, getting up from his desk and heading toward the examination table in the corner. Killua followed him in silence, sitting on it without protest, fully aware that resistance would be pointless. He watched his brother as he connected cables and adjusted the machine. What’s Gon doing right now? he wondered, taking off his shirt and placing it aside. He sat still while Milluki attached the cables to his chest and arms. Was Gon training with Gotoh? Or had he snuck off again?
Milluki finished setting up the machine and pressed the power button. Killua felt the first jolt, and a faint buzzing sound filled the air. At first, it was barely noticeable, but the current gradually intensified until it surged through his entire body. His muscles tensed involuntarily, but he kept his composure. He wasn’t going to give Milluki the satisfaction.
The buzzing grew louder, and from the corner of his eye, Killua saw his brother lean closer, a cruel smirk spreading across his pudgy face. “It’s fascinating how well you handle this now,” Milluki said, watching closely, waiting for a reaction. “I almost enjoy it more when it doesn’t hurt you... almost.”
He twisted the dial a little further, and the current surged slightly. Killua felt the crackling electricity race through his body, burning his skin beneath the cables and sending his heart racing. It hurt, but he remained expressionless, calm. How long would be enough to satisfy Milluki this time?, he wondered. An hour? Two?
“Oh, by the way,” Milluki continued, his incessant chatter somehow worse than the shocks themselves. “I’ve heard some rather interesting rumors,” he said casually. “You know how the staff is—they tend to talk a little too much sometimes.”
Because you spy on them, Killua thought.
He didn’t respond, but his mind went on high alert. Milluki wouldn’t bring something like that up without a reason. His brother smiled, eyes locked on him, clearly aware he’d hit a nerve.
“Apparently, you’ve been spending a lot of time in the woods,” Milluki said, subtly increasing the intensity, causing Killua’s body to twitch slightly. “And as far as I know… you’re not going alone.”
Killua clenched his jaw, a small movement that Milluki likely didn’t miss.
“I don’t know who told you that,” Killua replied dryly, “but they’re probably exaggerating. I go out to train. Alone.”
He had to stay firm. He knew Milluki didn’t have anything solid. If he did, their family would’ve started monitoring him long ago.
“Oh, sure. I believe you.” He didn’t. “But you know how rumors work around here.. Sometimes there’s a bit of truth to them…” He clicked his tongue theatrically. “Just imagine how Mother and Father would react if they found out you were sneaking off with the wrong company, don’t you think?."
Killua closed his eyes for a moment, focusing on his breathing as the electricity coursed through his body, burning beneath his skin. He knew exactly what was at stake. And he wasn’t going to give Milluki anything.
He wouldn’t fall into his trap.
“I’m not sneaking off,” he replied calmly, opening his eyes and meeting his brother’s gaze with cold indifference. “What, am I not allowed to take a walk in the woods now?”
Milluki gave him a cold smile.
“Of course you are,” he murmured, leaning in dangerously close to whisper, “…though it would be a problem if they found out you were breaking any rules. And that wouldn’t be good for either of you—you, or… whoever it is you’re meeting with.” He straightened up again. “Hypothetically, of course.”
Another click. This time, the shock was much stronger. Killua screamed inside, but outwardly, he remained unfazed. When he replied, he didn’t break eye contact with his brother.
“If I had any secrets,” he began, with some effort, “it would mean you’re not doing your job very well, wouldn’t it?” He tilted his head slightly, letting his lips curl into a smile that was anything but innocent. “I wonder what Mother would say about your surveillance system.” He raised an eyebrow. “Hypothetically.”
Milluki’s smile vanished.
That’ll get him off my back.
For a few seconds, the buzzing of the machine was the only sound in the room.
"Don’t do anything stupid unless you want things to go south for you," Milluki muttered, avoiding eye contact, and effectively ending the conversation.
Killua remained still for several more minutes, until he felt the electricity slowly drain from his body as Milluki shut off the machine and returned to his desk without a word. He didn’t bother questioning him. Quickly, he removed the cables and headed for the door, pulling on his hoodie while already planning how to prevent Milluki’s suspicions from growing.
Without looking back, he left his brother’s workshop, fully aware that he’d need to be even more cautious from now on. But for the moment, he had other plans.
~~~~~~
Killua sped through the forest surrounding the mansion, his steps so light they left no trace on the damp earth, yet the frustration in his every movement was unmistakable.
An incessant murmur followed him as he ran. To an ordinary person, it would have been nothing more than barely audible whispers, swallowed by the wind and the rustling leaves. But anyone with a trained ear could easily pick up the string of curses and insults he muttered under his breath, the anger boiling over after his encounter with his brother.
When he felt he was far enough from the mansion, Killua stopped beneath a tall, thick tree. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to soak in the calm of his surroundings.
“Where’d you learn all those curse words?” a playful voice suddenly asked.
Killua looked up and met a pair of amber eyes staring down at him from one of the branches.
“In the dictionary,” he replied with sarcasm, but couldn’t stop a slight smile from creeping onto his face.
Gon let out a loud laugh and, with a quick jump, landed on the ground, brushing the dust off his suit. He’d only started wearing it a few months ago, ever since he turned twelve. Killua knew how uncomfortable it made him.
“I was heading to the usual spot. You coming?” Gon asked with his usual contagious energy.
“You should be training. Gotoh’s gonna scold you again,” Killua warned as he started walking again, though he knew Gon didn’t care. “What kind of butler are you, anyway?” he teased. “I’m gonna have to put a note in your file that says something like ‘unfit,’ or ‘skips duties constantly and has a terrible attitude,’” he joked.
“Hey! That’s not true, I’m totally fit for the job!” Gon exclaimed, giving him a playful elbow. “Besides, Gotoh doesn’t need to find out,” he added. “It’s just a quick break. I need to unwind.”
Killua nodded in agreement. Even if it was just for a little while, being with Gon always managed to help him forget the shadows that haunted him at home.
Their usual spot wasn’t far, so they arrived quickly. Once they climbed the tree, Killua leaned against the trunk while Gon sat beside him, his legs swinging freely. A comfortable silence settled between them as they looked out over the vast forest stretching beyond the wall.
Despite the calm, Killua could still feel the lingering effects of the shocks under his skin. He discreetly pulled down his sleeve to hide the marks from the earlier session, though Gon probably noticed right away.
“How’s your training going? Are they… treating you well?” Killua asked cautiously, trying to divert his attention.
Gon raised an eyebrow and smiled, giving him a look that practically screamed, “I think I should be the one asking that, don’t you think?” Still, he just shrugged and turned his gaze back to the horizon.
“It’s going alright. You know, the usual,” he said. “Gotoh’s tough, but he’s actually a good guy, and he helps me get stronger. Besides,” he added, “they say you’ve got to be ready to protect the Zoldycks from anything. That’s what they always say, anyway.”
Killua rolled his eyes at the mention of his family. Still, he knew Gon wasn’t telling him everything. He had seen firsthand how many of the butlers were treated, especially by his mother and Milluki. Most of them, if not all, were nothing more than puppets, tools that his family could use however they wanted. And the training they put them through? ‘Brutally harsh’ didn’t even begin to describe it. He’d never admit it, but deep down, the thought of what they might do to Gon if someone in the family snapped one day terrified him.
“Do you miss your old life?” Killua asked suddenly after a stretch of silence.
Gon didn’t look at him, a sad smile tugging at his lips.
“You can’t miss something you don’t remember.”
“Yeah, well, but…”
It wasn’t the first time they’d had this conversation. Still, Killua occasionally tried to bring it up, hoping to draw out a little more about the real world beyond.
“I barely remember anything,” Gon insisted, staring into the distance. “From the orphanage, I mean. One day, Tsubone showed up and took me away. And my parents… I never knew them. I’ve told you that before. All I know is that he’s a Hunter, and he left me there for them to take care of me. That’s it.”
What Gon said next caught Killua off guard.
“You know what? I think I would’ve liked to be one too!” Gon flashed him a quick smile. “Can you imagine?”
Killua’s chest tightened.
Gon, a Hunter?
For a moment, the thought terrified Killua. He couldn’t—wouldn’t—imagine what his life would have been like growing up in that family without Gon by his side. He would’ve gone crazy. Or worse, maybe he would’ve turned out like his brothers.
But what would Gon have gained if he’d grown up somewhere else? Freedom. A happy life, far from the psychopaths in Killua’s family. Safe. Maybe he could’ve even gone looking for his real parents, for his true family. Maybe…
“And you…” Killua swallowed hard, focusing all his attention on pushing down the knot in his throat. “Would you… want to be one… someday?”
“Of course!”
His chest tightened further. He hadn’t even hesitated.
Shit.
…Why did this feel so awful now?
The thought that, deep down, Gon might actually prefer being a Hunter felt both admirable and terrifying. Of course, anyone would choose that over being trapped in a life serving his family. But what if one day Gon decided to leave and never look back? He had every right to.
“Although, Killua…” Gon added, completely unaware of the worries eating him up inside, “with how strong you are, I think you could be one too,” he finished with certainty.
Killua let out a bitter laugh.
“Are you even listening to yourself? It’s ridiculous,” Killua muttered, glancing at him out of the corner of his eye. “Gon, I’m the heir to the Zoldyck family. They’ve been training me for that since I was born. What makes you think I could even consider…?” He shook his head, clicking his tongue.
“But still—”
“No,” Killua cut him off, firm. “It’s not possible. It doesn’t make sense. I couldn’t…”
He didn’t finish the sentence when a small seed of doubt planted itself in his mind.
Couldn’t he?
“Well, then neither will I.”
Gon’s words, spoken so casually, hung in the air for a few seconds, and for a brief moment, time seemed to stop as Killua processed what he’d just heard. He blinked slowly, a slight flutter in his stomach. He swallowed. Did he just…?
He looked at him.
Gon was watching him with the kind of determination only he could have.
“What are you say—?”
“Killua, I’m not going anywhere without you,” Gon said, unwavering. “You’re my best friend. It’s both of us, or neither.”
He felt his chest warm, and the fluttering in his stomach grew more noticeable.
“Gon,” he whispered, barely audible, “you’re an idiot,” he muttered, turning away and covering his face with a hand to hide the smile that had inevitably spread across his lips.
Now he felt stupid for ever doubting him.
Gon grinned back.
“I mean it, Killua!” He leaned forward, hands on the trunk in front of him, so close that, for a second, the forest disappeared, and all Killua could see were Gon’s big amber eyes. “You’re my best friend, and the strongest, most awesome person I know (though, okay, I don’t know that many people). You should start believing that already. We’re in this together, remember?”
Gon was staring at him with way too much intensity. And way too close. Heat rushed to Killua’s face, and his cheeks turned red before he could stop it.
“Sh-shut up, idiot! Don’t just say stuff like that out of nowhere!” he yelled, shoving Gon’s face away with his foot, pushing him as far as possible. Gon almost fell off the tree in the process.
“Ah! Killua, don’t be so rough!” He shouted, quickly grabbing hold of the branch to keep from falling. Killua cleared his throat, ignoring Gon’s complaints, trying to regain his composure, but his heart was still racing.
“You brought it on yourself, idiot. D-don’t just say things like that…”
“Aaaaw, are you embarrassed?”
“Shut up!”
Once again, a comfortable, easy silence fell between them, this time with the soft rustling of the wind in the branches growing stronger. Gon turned back to the view, humming to himself while he gently swung his legs.
Killua couldn't help but smile.
His gaze drifted back to the distant Zoldyck mansion, now looking tinier than ever.
"Do you hear that?" Gon suddenly asked.
It all happened so fast.
A distant buzzing shattered the silence, mingling with the sound of the wind. They both looked around, trying to pinpoint its source. Gon was the first to spot it. A flash that lasted just milliseconds in the distance was all he needed to understand what it was.
"Down, now!” He grabbed Killua by the arm, giving him no time to grasp what was happening, and leaped down, aiming for one of the lower branches shielded by the tree's foliage. He pushed him against the trunk and placed a finger to his lips.
"What?"
"Shh."
They waited in silence as the buzzing sound grew closer and closer. For several tense minutes, they held their breath, listening as it passed overhead and slowly began to fade into the distance. Finally, they both let out a relieved sigh.
“I think it was one of Milluki's drones," Gon said quietly, finally letting go of Killua.
Killua cursed to himself. His brother had actually taken his comments about the surveillance system seriously. He should've seen it coming. How could he have been so stupid?
“Well done, Gon,” he sighed. “If he had caught us…”
If he had caught them, they might as well be dead now. Gon let out a small laugh.
“Who's ‘unfit’ now, huh?” he joked.
Killua rolled his eyes, pressing his lips together to avoid smiling.
“Let’s go.”
And with feline agility, he began to climb down with Gon following close behind.
~~~~~~
Killua’s mind was racing. Drones, transmitters, trackers, bugs... Up until now, his brother’s surveillance had only covered the areas around the mansion, inside the house, and the Butler’s Quarters, but it had never reached this far. It wasn’t just Mother, Illumi, or Gotoh anymore—there were more threats waiting for them outside if they were caught together. He stared at the sleeves of his hoodie in horror. What if Mulluki had planted a tracker on him while he was in the workshop? Paranoia started creeping in, and suddenly, it all felt overwhelming. Too many dangers, too many variables. There was no doubt—they were going to have to be way, way more careful from now on, watching every step they took. Maybe even cutting back on their meetings would be a smart move, at least for a while…
He glanced at Gon, walking calmly beside him.
His heart clenched a little.
The selfish part of him wanted to dismiss that option, but he couldn’t ignore it. He knew that if they got caught, the one who would really suffer the consequences wouldn’t be him.
It would be Gon.
He bit his lip.
He had to do something. He just needed to come up with a way to...
“By the way,” Gon said suddenly, cutting through his internal monologue, still walking calmly. “I haven’t told you yet, but...” He turned to him with a big smile. “Gotoh gave me permission to go to the city this weekend!”
Killua froze in his tracks, caught off guard.
“Are you serious?” He couldn’t help but feel a small pang of jealousy. Up until now, he’d only been able to go out for training, always kept away from people, and under strict surveillance. Never for fun. The only time he’d ever had real freedom was during his stay at Heaven’s Arena, and even then...
“Come with me! It'll be fun!” Gon added.
Killua looked at him in silence. He knew it wasn’t possible, that Gon hadn’t really thought it through. They had literally just jumped out of a tree to avoid getting caught by his brother. It was a terrible idea, to say the least. The thought of leaving the mansion to stroll through town, alone, without any kind of watch, with his family breathing down his neck more than ever—it was absurd to even consider...
“Alright.”
Killua silenced the rational part of him, which was now screaming from the depths of his being that what he was doing was suicidal.
Gon’s smile widened, and for a moment, his eyes sparkled so brightly that Killua had to look away. He felt his heart race, though he couldn’t tell if it was because of Gon’s big, excited eyes looking at him or the sudden rush of adrenaline.
He couldn’t. He knew he shouldn’t.
But what was the worst that could happen?
One day. Just one day of freedom.
Notes:
Honestly, I’m really happy because this chapter ended up being twice as long as the last one! :) Plus, it’s much more fleshed out than the original idea, and it helped me solidify the logline for the story. I hope you all enjoyed it! Even though the story is written in third person, I’m trying to use a limited omniscient narrator to make it feel as real and emotional as possible. Thanks so much for reading! See you next time!

tropes game
tagged by @hxhhasmysoul thank you!!! I saw this making the rounds on twitter and i'm excited to do it here too
How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic?
-10 -> very dissuaded
0 -> don’t care either way
10 ->  very enticed
nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged
__________
Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional… There are no points, you’re not marked on this, don’t worry :3
Add tropes that you think I missed XD
Tag others if you’re nosy like I am :D
Have fun!
__________
Trope List
age gap   -2/10
ultimately to me it only depends on the ship dynamic itself? I enjoyed the ship in Canis: Dear Hatter, but it's not because of the age gap. I also will get kinda dissuaded if one of them isnt an adult but the other is when they first meet
codependency   9/10
oh boy me and my gf for real. we met through killugon and codependency really is killugon. It can be extremely cathartic to see it in fiction to me
enemies to lovers   8/10
it really depends on who handles it. i dont like how reylo does it, but man, This Is How You Lose the Time War is like a masterclass in how to do it. I rate it more favourably cause I think I enjoy the slight forbidden aspect to it? And I can immediately think of more stories that do this well (in the sense that, "enemies" are more like two rival factions and both sides are like equally grey, and your rival just so happens to be your equal, you hold no grudge besides what your faction has told you to believe)
enemies with benefits   10/10
now THIS has a nice flavour. I love it when it fulfills that meme "you wanna fuck me so bad you look stupid". Bonus points if the benefits begin when A is injured and goes to B's place for shelter (it was great watching this happening in zoolander)
fake dating/relationship   9/10
I've been won over by my friends, i love the awkwardness that comes with fake dating for meeting a mutual need that is essentially kinda stupid (like impressing grandma or to spite your ex)
found family   9/10
it's hxh in a nutshell
friends to lovers   10/10
GOD help me i love this a lot. it's my fave fic trope and it was literally my life experience
friends with benefits   10/10
my god. top tier. I love it so much it's good good mess
hurt/comfort   10/10
the comfort comforts better after the hurt has hurted real good :)
love triangle   5/10
I would love to see different ways of it being handled than anything from old and tired cishet dramas, so any queer spin on it kinda makes me go insane. Also bonus points if everyone can talk through it as sanely as they can while still feeling like their world is crumbling. It can be such good angst. Bonus bonus points if they can all agree on some level of poly
mistaken/hidden identity   10/10
very delicious in like, spy or superhero stories (and also what brought me on board with miraculous ladybug to begin with)
monster fu… relationship   10/10
I feel like most of us monster relationship enjoyers had an awakening after watching a Guillermo del Toro movie. For me it was the Shape of Water, and afterwards a wlw beauty and the beast drawing i did that really won me over. I have a monster AU thingy over on my danganronpa account that I love to bits.
obsession, possessiveness, etc   7/10
can be handled so well or SO BADLY. it helps when any act of possessiveness isn't too serious but is also laced with the real angst, the good shit, the flavour of insecurity. it helps even more if the couple knows how to communicate through this rather than lashing out at each other with passive aggressive arguments, which I hate to see :)
opposites (like grumpy×sunshine, etc)    10/10
LITERALLY KILLUGON. literally all of our preteen angel/devil OC obsession coming back as a popular trope. what's not to love about opposites being together and balancing each other out!
poly   10/10
So a poly ship took over my brain for a good 2 years. I'm in the middle of writing a fic about how three people get together, and even researching by picking up The Ethical Slut (which btw is a great read on how to have healthy relationships in general too, it has so much good advice)
pregnancy   -9/10
It's a personal choice, only because i'm scared of conceiving so i really prefer not to see it in fic. Giving it a -9 cause I do have exceptions in fic (being whether it was recommended to me or whether it's from authors whose work I enjoy)
second chance   5/10
Again it’s really down to the characters and how it’s handled. I enjoyed it in some fics I’ve read long ago, but I won’t go out of my way to find it
sex to feelings   10/10
the one thing i love about friends with benefits is exactly this. the potential for MESS
slowburn   9/10
It can be so so good. A kagehina fic once destroyed me with how slow the burn was but it was so neat to see it growing slowly but surely. I think it can only work if you and the author agree on the eventual endgame ship
soulmates   7/10
it can be a bit tired, but I still personally like reading it! I like any soulmates au with a good spin on it though, like a potential fear behind not liking your destined partner or liking someone else who isnt your soulmate
thanks for letting me ramble LMAO
i’m gonna tag @xyliane @thehuntyhunties @icefeather112 @murderkitten666 @loudpartythumpingmusic (no pressure though!)

🌳| lolz im away rn so i queued this post- enjoy ily<33 (slight tw i think)
Tumblr media
random phantom troupe headcanons
· the phantom troupe will not sexually assault ppl. like ever- they find it disgusting. they'll sic feitan on you, they'll kill ur whole family, they'll steal ur most precious heirlooms- but they will not commit any sexual crimes, and especially don't condone pedophilia (which is one of the reasons why none of them are fond of hisoka lmao)
· sometimes on missions, they'll have to seduce targets for information- but they won't let shizuku go any further than flirt with someone. they think she's a little too young to try anything yet
· pakunoda is really good at baking for some reason- sometimes she'll show up w random pastries for the troupe lol
· machi low-key has a thing for shizuku. like it's almost impossible to tell but she'll sometimes sidle closer to her during meetings or "accidentally" bump into her just to help her pick up her stuff
· feitan sometimes sleeps w stuffed animals when he's all alone, it makes him feel safe
· this is for sure an obvious one but paku has had quite a few nip slips. whenever it happens there's always someone that casually walks over and stands in front of her while she fixes it
· phinks and uvo jokingly call paku "mommy" bc duh
· chrollo always threatens to fire everyone bc whenever hisoka goes off somewhere they always beg him over and over to let them kill him
· kalluto is a little too fond of cross-dressing and doesn't care if someone accidentally calls him a girl
· nobunaga says "that's gay" whenever something he thinks is stupid or just doesn't like happens
· shizuku overshares like a lot, to the point where the other Spiders get uncomfortable- and it's worse bc she never remembers sharing anything so she does it again the next day
· chrollo randomly goes into those big Catholic cathedrals and just sits there dramatically with the sun shining through the stained glass windows. he thinks he looks mysterious and enchanting but everyone else is just creeped out
· illumi doesn't say otherwise if someone says that he and hisoka are like a romantic thing. not that he actually has feelings for hisoka but he just doesnt really care
· little kids really like feitan for like no reason. they'll be all like "wow your mask is so cool!" and he'll literally stand there and panic while the kids stare up at him like he's the coolest person on the planet (although who's to say he isn't😐)
· the entire phantom troupe is just so over kurapika. like they've kinda put the uvo thing in the past and a lot of them are very annoyed that the chain user is still looking for revenge
· bonolenov can't get vaccinated or anything bc WHERE THE FUCK ARE HIS VEINS
· kortopi is kinda the outcast of the group. he doesn't have much fighting ability and his appearance is a little eerie so most of the members are just inclined to ignore him
· paku loves(would love? ;( ) to dress kalluto up like one of those lolita girls on Pinterest
· kalluto kinda clings to illumi or chrollo bc he wants approval from someone, illumi and chrollo are both ok with it
· shalnark and shizuku follow on_a_downward_spiral on ig
· shalnark is a major insomniac
· who knows who but several members of the troupe have had romantic/sexual encounters w one another
· every last member is very touch-starved
· franklin puts his earlobes in a ponytail sometimes
· shalnark cannot hear shit when he's listening to music with his headphones on
· nobunaga says "im gonna kill myself" at any minor inconvenience
· phinks and nobunaga watch kids shows just to criticize them and yell at the tv
· machi gets seriously irritable and crabby when she's hungry
· she also fantasizes about kicking hisoka in the balls
· shalnark has repeatedly asked (would have 😐) illumi if he and hisoka are actually getting married
· paku kinda shipped killugon

Killugon + shopping?
Sure thing~
-o0o-
“Oooo, Killua! Hey--Killua! Come look at these!”
Gon physically drags Killua down the flee market aisle to a small corner shop. It initially caught his attention because of how shiny everything is. Counters sparkle with gems and metallic surfaces gleam in the hot afternoon sun. Gon sucks in a breath, squeezing Killua’s arm as he takes in all in.
“A jewelry store?” Killua asks incredulously. “Since when are you into jewelry? I thought that was more my thing.”
“Mm, yeah. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like it sometimes, too.”
His eyes land on a small selection of rings. They’re simple bands but made out of high quality materials. He can’t see Nen any more after Alluka healed him but he can feel it, sort of, if he really concentrates. And these rings have Nen.
Gon picks out two rings--one gold and one silver--and holds them to Killua for his approval. “I want these.”
Killua quirks an eyebrow. “Why? Are you planning on getting married soon?”
Killua’s teasing--Gon can tell from the slight smirk of his lips and the way his eyes crinkle. But his question makes Gon pause all the same.
“Maybe not today,” Gon says seriously and Killua’s smile falls. “But I’d like to get married to you sometime soon. I think it would be nice. Don’t you?”
“Y-You...You can’t be serious.”
“Of course I am. I wouldn’t joke about that sort of thing, Killua. Hey--” Gon turns away from Killua’s darkening face to the store owner, “--do you know if we can get our names engraved on these? I’d like them to be personalized before I get married with them.”

AUgust 6: hospital au
PROMPT THE SIXTH: HOSPITAL AU
fun fact! me and @wuzzyletoastermac have a hospital au. so I’m just gonna...dig it out of its shallow grave from a few years back and plop that one over here. only it’s not gon who got hurt this time. killugon, descriptions of bodily injury resulting from a bike accident that absolutely doesn’t come from my worst fears as a bike commuter for 6 years, definitely not.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0
“You have got to be kidding me.”
Killua glares at Leorio through a deep haze of pain and painkillers. “You have the shittiest bedside manner,” he says.
It’s almost certainly his imagination, or the drugs, but Leorio might be prodding the X-rays he stole from Killua’s nurse a little more viciously than he should. “My bedside manner’s not the problem here, kid,” Leorio says. “It’s the clavicle fracture that miraculously didn’t need to be reset, and an oblique fracture in your tibia that might need surgery. Not to mention that half the skin on your arms got burned off when you the concrete, and you definitely have a concussion.”
“Leorio--”
“And you did this, not joyriding in an ambulance like you do every shift--”
“--not joyriding, I’m just damn good at my job--”
“--or drag racing with your sister--”
“--that’s her job! And I taught her!”
“--but biking back from getting dinner!”
Killua wishes he could throw up his hands, and settles for a hoarse growl of frustration. “I know. It’s the stupidest possible way to get this badly hurt. You don’t have to rub it in, Dr. Asshole.”
“Will he be okay?” Gon asks, worry bleeding through his voice. He’s hovering at Killua’s side with one hand on the top of the hospital bed and a death grip on Alluka’s hand, like he’s been since she got here more than an hour ago. Gon had called her as soon as Killua went into the ER, and the two of them have been with him as much as they can. And Leorio managed to appear, bedraggled and exhausted from coming off the end of his own shift, haranguing the orthopedics and arguing over the logistics of surgeries and therapy like he specializes in traumatic injury and not immunology.
Killua can’t help but feel loved. He isn’t sure if he deserves it, but it’s there, given freely from the people Killua loves with all his heart. At least Alluka knows, because she demanded to hear it. But Gon...
Laying in a hospital bed under a questionable amount of painkillers is not the time to be thinking about telling someone I love you for the first time. Too many drugs to make a sensible decision.
Leorio coughs a little, and glances in the direction Killua’s nurses went. “It’s no worse than anything you’ve done, Gon. Several magnitudes better. There’re techs who still talk about your arm dismemberment.”
“But will Killua be okay?”
“Brother’s as fine as he can be,” Alluka says with only a fraction less nerves than Gon. “Right, Doctor?”
“The hospital looks after its own, even adrenaline junkie ambulance drivers.” A strange noise burbles out of Leorio’s mouth, and he pinches the bridge of his nose. “You weren’t even in a car.”
Killua feels his cheeks burn, a strange sensation when everything else feels like it’s wrapped in several layers of scratchy wool. “It was still a car’s fault,” he says with his best scowl. From how Leorio looks like he swallowed a lemon whole, it’s not very good.
“At least you were wearing a helmet,” Leorio says.
“The dipshit opened the door right into the bike lane. Ruined our dinner plans.”
It was date night. Of all the nights to get into an accident, it had to be the one night where Gon didn’t have to work tomorrow, and Killua was in the middle of his 72 hours off. They’d been talking about going back to the fusion place for weeks, ever since Palm had tipped them off, and they finally get to relax, and--
Alluka makes a noise that is supposed to be overexaggerated sympathy, but it comes out a little wet, like she’s holding back angry tears. “I’ll bring you spring rolls tomorrow, Brother.”
“And you demanded to argue until your boyfriend showed up looking for you!” The radio around Leorio’s neck squawks, and he grumbles something about not overstepping bounds when family’s involved. “Look, just. Don’t argue with Dr. Gel, she’s doing us both a favor. And don’t try to get out of here before she says whether or not you’re getting surgery. And you don’t try to help him leave early, Gon, you know how collarbones feel.”
Gon’s mouth goes thin, and he says nothing. But Killua can feel how tightly he grips the edge of Killua’s bed, a slight tremble beneath the sheets. He shouldn’t care this much--it was an accident, it could have happened to anyone on a bike at the wrong time with the wrong asshole driver.
Leorio’s radio buzzes again, but he puts his hand over it. “Gon. Promise?”
“...fine,” he mutters, belligerent and angry, because he probably was figuring out how early he could stage a breakout, and Killua feels bizarrely, impossibly loved.
“I’ll go with Leorio,” Alluka says as the doctor begins to stride out of the little room, white coat flapping as he barks an order into his radio. “He doesn’t have to do all the paperwork by himself. Don’t do anything else stupid?”
Killua starts to lift his arm to flip her off, and his collarbone reminds him why that is a terrible idea. “I’m not going anywhere,” he manages.
“That’s not avoiding stupid things.” She presses a soft kiss to Killua’s forehead, not quite missing the new scabs growing where the helmet dug into his skin. But Killua’s good at hiding pain. “Be right back,” she says.
Once they’re both gone, Gon pulls up a stool from the little desk and sits (finally, some part of Killua sighs in relief). With Leorio gone and no longer poking and prodding at the charts, Killua is hit by a wave of exhaustion strong enough that the hospital bed feels almost as good as a cloud, perfect to sleep through some of the drugs and pain.
“I can still get you out if you want,” Gon says.
Despite the light tone, Gon isn’t joking in the least. It makes Killua smile. Gon has a knack for getting out of the hospital before he’s supposed to--it’s why Leorio is usually on his cases, even though he should be in Infectious Diseases, because he can usually manage to make the chronically injured rugby player stick around even a day or two longer. And why they’re letting him stick around after his rotations tonight.
“I’ll be fine. It’ll just suck for awhile.” He flips his hand so that they’re palm-to-palm, fingers laced. “It can’t be worse than that time you got your arm chopped off.”
“But if I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have met you,” Gon says. “I’d rather lose an arm than that.”
Killua wants to protest, because Gon did almost lose his arm. But intoxicating warmth and fuzziness floods his veins, a rush of feelings that threatens to choke out what few coherent thoughts he has left. He wants to tell Gon that he doesn’t want Gon to lose another limb, not even a toe, not for Killua. He wants to make sure Gon knows that he’s grateful for the offer to break him out of the hospital even though it’s a terrible idea right now. Mostly, he wants to say that he’s glad Gon is here with him.
Instead, he flops his head over a little, just enough to smile up at his boyfriend. “I love you,” he says, words slipping out easily between the bone-deep weariness and drug-dulled pain, not like it’s been bottled up inside his heart for what seems like ages.
Gon’s eyes widen a fraction, and the grip on Killua’s hand slackens for a long, terrifying moment. But then he tightens again, firm like an anchor weighed against the tide. And Killua doesn’t have to hear it to know that Gon loves him back.
So it might be a dream, or just another part of the haze. But as Killua drifts off, he hears Gon say, voice quiet against the beeping of the hospital machines, “I love you too.”

wrote a little something !!!! short killugon school au ??
under the rain with you.
+
a spikey, green haired boy watched the grey clouds roll in, gathering up above as he stood at the entrance of the school building, empty handed. gon had watched the weather forecast that morning and knew it was going to rain later on in the day, and yet he decided not to bring an umbrella with him to school.
stepping out from under the shielding of the school building, he leaned his head backwards, a giddy smile forming at the corners of his lips as he felt the first few droplets of rain land on his cheeks.
“rain!” gon shrieked in excitement, lifting his arms out to his sides with his palms facing up to the sky. it had been several months now since it last rained, and the boy had dearly missed the feeling of the cold, refreshing liquid pitter pattering onto his skin. flopping down backwards onto the ground, he let his school uniform become drenched.
after a couple more minutes of laying under the rain, gon heard a voice call his name. his eyes fluttered open and his brown gaze was met by a pair of blue ones. the figure leaning above him had shaggy, messy white hair and he dangled a school bag over his shoulder, carrying a pale blue umbrella in his other hand.
“gon, what the heck are you doing,” killua asked, his eyes wide and full of bewilderment as he looked down at the boy drenched in rain. gon stared back at the latter for a moment, then quickly sat up, which caused him to bang his forehead against killua’s.
“ouch,” gon groaned, holding his forehead in his hands. “ow, what the hell,” killua yelled, grimacing and stumbling backwards, falling onto the ground right next to gon, his school bag and umbrella dropping down right next to him shortly afterwards.
killua turned to face gon, pressing his palm against his own forehead. “that hurt, gon! watch it,” he hissed through gritted teeth. “you’re so clumsy!” gon simply laughed at killua’s remark, rubbing the back of his neck. “sorry, killua,” he apologized, sticking his tongue out.
the cat eyed boy rolled his eyes, sighing. “what were you laying on the ground for? it’s raining.” gon tilted his head to the side, “it’s fun! the rain feels so good! you should try it too, killua!” killua furrowed his eyebrows, looking at the boy as if he were crazy. “what? are you kidding? what’s so good about-”
before he could finish speaking, he was suddenly being pulled down onto the ground by the doe eyed boy’s fist. “wh-woah,” killua yelped as the back of his head hit the ground, and gon’s laughter filled the air.
killua huffed, frowning in annoyance. “c’mon, gon, quit it. you know aunt mito’s going to get angry. don’t drag me into this,” he grunted, turning his head to the side to look at gon, only to be met with gon’s brown doe eyes once again. killua stared back, although being caught off guard by the unpredictable boy who was laying right beside him. “w-what do you want,” killua stuttered, a pink blush starting to form on the pale skin of his cheeks.
gon smiled softly at killua, his grip around the boy’s hand tightening. “doesn’t it feel good?” he asked, his voice low and quiet. the faint pitter patter of the rain grew louder in killua’s ears along with his own heartbeat, which pounded inside of his head. little butterflies hatched and flew around inside of killua’s stomach as he stared back at gon and his unwavering gaze. what the heck was up with this boy? killua grew up as an assassin and had prepared for nearly every single circumstance and situation, but gon never failed to surprise him and make him feel really weird.
after what felt like an eternity of staring at the doe eyed boy, killua turned his head away from him and back up towards the sky, closing his eyes. “well, i guess,” he muttered under his breath, hoping that gon wouldn’t hear him. a slight smile that he tried to suppress tugged at his mouth. everything and every single minute was fun, perfect, and felt so good with gon. killua wanted this moment to last forever - just the two of them, holding hands and laying together underneath the rain.

there’s just something so special about the way gon and killua say each other’s names. i don’t want to oversimplify it with calling it love- i almost think it’s more than that. how can you compact the yearning, care, worry, awe, affection, raw emotion in their voices into one simple word, one descriptor? i think their voice actresses are phenomenal for the way they’re able to channel killugon’s exact emotions into the way they say each other’s names alone. when gon says “killua”, he isn’t solely speaking killua’s name- it’s full of his raw emotions. it’s full of awe, it’s like you can hear him saying ‘woah, he’s so cool!’ when he speaks it. but it isn’t only awe- there’s a sweet simplicity to it, something raw and pure. it’s ‘killua, my friend, my best friend in the entire world, the one i love the most’ each time the name comes out of his mouth. whether it’s the awestruck ‘killua..!’, the worried ‘killua..’ the excited ‘killuuuaaaa!!!!’ it’s as if within the way gon says killua’s name alone you can hear his love. it’s much more evident with the killua says gon’s name- everyone who’s seen hxh has at least picked up, to some degree, his overpowering emotion. killua’s feelings for gon is one of the sweetest and purest aspects of hunter x hunter on it’s own, and i think the way he speaks gon’s name alone perfectly projects that. he speaks with awe, but in a slight different way from gon. while gon’s is tinged with excitement, the wonder, the anticipation of learning to do what has impressed him, killua’s is simple wonder, curiosity, about the sole fact that gon exists in his life. it’s jam packed with significance, with love, overflowing, unending, continuous, extraordinary love. from ‘gon... you’ve got it backwards. i’m the one who’s glad i got to know you’ to ‘gon, you are light’ killua’s love for gon is just so evident within his voice alone that you could pick it up even without the overwhelmingly thick subtext that became literal text in chimera ant arc. i just think the way they speak each other’s names perfectly tips off their relationship. yes, that thing in their voice, it’s love, but god, it is more than love

Hot Night
A Hot KilluGon Fanfic
[AO3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25731196]
Synopsis: It’s hot. It’s REALLY HOT. Which leads to some nice KilluGon interactions~
Characters: Killua and Gon
Pairing: KilluaXGon, KilluGon
Genre/Mood: Hot, established relationship, nighttime, Killua creeping on a sleeping Gon again... Fluff.
Rating: Light T (for now)
Exams are over, as I said before. But now we have the extra classes to try to get back on track because we missed the start of school in April. I’ve been sitting on this fic for about a month now, debating on whether to keep going past this point or not. The second part I started on has a very different tone, so it might be better to keep it a one-shot.
Also, I’ll post on Wattpad once I make a dumb cover for this one. I wanna make a dumb cover. Also also, MIU part 2 is planned for Friday.
-----
It was hot. In the living room of the apartment they had rented for the time being, Gon went to lay down on the couch. While Killua took a shower, the black-haired boy decided to check if there was anything fun to watch on TV in this country. Locating the remote from under their mess of mission documents on the coffee table, he pushed on the biggest button while aiming it at the screen. It ended up being the correct one. Suddenly, the room was filled with the sound of studio audience laughter and a man speaking rapidly in a foreign tongue he didn’t understand.
Gon pressed the left set of plus and minus buttons on the remote, watching as snippets of different things flashed by. He was hoping something would catch his eye. A woman drinking a soda, a boy in a field with a dog, a newscaster reporting on a fire, a puppet show for small children, the jingle for Chocorobo (but in this country’s language), a man and woman embracing on a sidewalk while dramatic music played… After about five minutes, Gon gave up and turned the TV off again. Closing his eyes, he relaxed his body and focused on his other senses.
He could hear the hum of the fridge in the kitchen and Killua splashing around in the bathroom. He could feel the arm of the sofa under his cheek, cooler than the humid air that enveloped him. He could smell the aging leather he was laying on, as well as the floral shampoo he had used during his shower. He could taste a slight saltiness when he licked his dry lips, probably because he was already beginning to sweat again. Noticing all these things as he kept his eyelids closed, Gon felt very calm. His body grew heavy, his breathing leveled out, and he allowed himself to slip into a light sleep right there on the couch...

Thanks for tagging @meridianheroine !!
Rules
Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous
Send me an ask with the title that most intrigues you and interests you and I’ll post a little snippet of it or tell you something about it!
(Most of mine are gibberish so I’ll do small explanations afterwards)
-
1. Ffc 1, a fic of Riza’s childhood from Bertholds perspective for a small contest with the prompt “write a fic from the perspective of a background character.”
2. fmfmfmfmfm, a crossover fic of FMA and Percy Jackson, in which Leo Valdez sneezes fire, as he often does, and Riza immediately puts a gun to his head.
3. FMA Xover, another crossover between FMA and final fantasy VII, set about five years after the promised day, where Roy Mustang wakes up in Midgar behind a dumpster and subsequently goes “where am I. Who are you. Why am I always in police states. Can I please have my wife adjutant back.”
4. Makomo, a Makomo-centric demon slayer fanfiction following her and the 11 other children who were killed by the hand demon. Slight headcanon in which the ghost children can turn into foxes. Tentative title is ‘Urokodaki’s fox children’
5. gsh, Giyushino demon slayer AU fanfiction, where Shinobu and Kanao travel to a sea town to hunt down Douma, a fae. The town worships a sea fae and get an omen that basically make them go, yo, you gotta marry him. You Gotta. And shinobu so desperately wants to go “no❤️” but needs to lodge in that town so agrees. Ends up marrying Giyuu, adventure ensues as he helps her hunt down Douma. For an “arranged marriage” prompt except I don’t like standard arranged marriage fics.
6. Kg, killugon fic set a couple years after canon when Gon and killua reunite. For the “kisses before a battle” kiss prompt.
