I love how Trollhunters is such an outlier in its genre in the sense that from the very beginning, when establishing the status quo, the notion is set; you can't always win someone over, you have to finish the fight. It is very often kill or be killed, and you can't bank on being able to change that.

And of course in the beginning Jim is horrified, and staunchly refuses to even kill even the troll equivalent of a rodent, and he does manage to win people over by talking, multiple times. And he defies everyone's expectations with these new allies. His ability to do this is one of his strengths and it's incredibly impressive, but in the end he learns and relents to the fact that sometimes of only way you can stop someone is to meet violence with violence and by then he wants to.

It's not just about self defense or damage control anymore, Gunmar killed his friends, and caused those still living to suffer, and indirectly forced him to give up his humanity, his future, his chance of having any semblance of a peaceful life,

(In Jim's eyes anyway. But really, from the moment he picked up that amulet, he lost his chance at normalcy. He was doomed from the beginning. He was also 15.)

And he wants him fucking dead. I don't know, but that's just so unusual for the type of character that Jim is, but it's so very human to break under something so heavy (Young Atlas and all that, I suppose), and it's almost ironic for him because at that point – again, to him, at least – he is anything but human.

I know Velvette got there last, but we all saw how Vox talks to that moth, it screams 'this is an actual toddler, taking sugar baby way too literally". Velvette is staring judgily at Vox(especially after she finds out abt Alastor too) and going "Im gonna marry you, but I'm so judging your taste in men every step of the way."

Invader Zim Future AU (ooooooo!)

Hello IZ tumblr. I come bringing an AU and character designs. Enjoy them please :)

ZiM - 200+ Years Old - College Student/Irken Invader

Ten years have passed since ZiM began his quest to conquer Earth, and things couldn’t be going better! (At least, in his opinion.) Despite the literal years of failure after failure to achieve his goal, he still hasn’t given up. In fact, he believes every scheme he makes is more amazing than the last. (Because he’s a genius, in his opinion.) There’s just one thing standing in his way… Dib. As always. But ZiM will be ready for him. He has been keeping an eye on the Dib creature, even making sure to attend the same high school as him, and now to go to the same college. Even though ZiM thinks things are going wonderfully, he can’t help but feel like something is off. Like someone is watching him…

Dib Membrane (Agent Mothman) - 22 Years Old - College Student/Paranormal Investigator

These ten years have been absolute hell for Dib. ZiM’s constant scheming to take over the earth and tormenting of him in particular have made Dib lose his mind a bit. Okay, a lot. He’s now more determined than ever to capture ZiM- no, not just capture ZiM, kill him. He wants ZiM on that autopsy table more than ever before and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. He is now being assisted by the Swollen Eyeball Network to do it, so he’s more of a threat than ever before. (Though the Swollen Eyeball Network are only helping him because they fear if they don’t help him now, he’ll continue annoying them for the rest of their lives.)

Why frog? It doesn’t fit. There’s too much fabric on the palm side. I knew it wasn’t going to fit right when I joined the thumb but since I was going to rip it out anyways, I figured I might as well trial the palm decreases while I was at it. Also I didn’t know how the whole gear chart would look in yarn and now I do and I like it very much but also believe I can improve on it.

Anyways. I’ll unravel and rejigger my gusset math and tomorrow they can come with me for my eight hours of meetings 😑

as someone who is usually half-minded and sleepy, i imagine being so awake is sort of disorienting for him. A clear head is something he's not used to! I don't think they'd know what to do with themself to be honest!

Perhaps they would engage more in Sally's play's or Julie's games, whatever their neighbors fancy!

I think the taste they would like, but i'm not sure if they would like how it makes them feel...

Figure Skating. - I never even realize how much I can go on about it until someone makes the mistake of asking me my opinion on something about it like my friend did last night and suddenly my life long obsession for it takes over my mind and I talk more than I knew I could.

Cats/pets. - I don't know if this counts because it's more that I like to converse and exchange cat/pet talk with other people but I could go on and on about all the cats I've had and known and converse with others about their various pets too.

Medical/Health stuff - my life time of experience and observance has led me to know a lot about a lot of different things that apparently is not normal for the average person to know? I can talk a lot about it with the right people but I don't know if this really counts since I wont talk in depth about this topic with most people, I have to be exceptionally close to someone and then it's more tmi than they ever cared for.

Old Hollywood Actresses/movies - but mostly just the movies they are in and why I like them and their movies.

Geography/maps/weather - I blame my dad it's the one thing we always connected on and I'm so interested in where everything in the world is and what the weather is like in each place.
