August Writing Challenge Day 3: Gowther/Slader

AN: This one could take place when they are on the way to Istal or after they have been to Istal. I'll leave that up to you.

Slader had been confused. He felt attraction to Gowther. He thought from Gowther's looks that Gowther was a woman. And he only felt attraction for men! And then he'd saw Gowther wrapped in a towel. And the doll had proclaimed 'I have no clothes' and flashed them. And revealed that he was a man. The evidence had been there, plain to see. It got him conflicted; because Gowther looked... oddly attractive in women's clothes. He looked... incredibly feminine. And it was a problem. Gowther was a man. Gowther looked good in women's clothes. Slader found him attractive anyway. He sighed.

“What is wrong Sir Slader?” He jumped, not expecting to be spoken to. By the man he was thinking about of all people!

“I was just thinking about things.” He answered. Gowther nodded.

“You were thinking about me.” Slader knew his cheeks heated, thankfully covered by his mask. The other man could read minds. And... was that a smile?

“You think I look attractive, even though it is not conventional for you to fall for someone who looks feminine.” Slader was sure his mask had to have heated from how warm his cheeks were. Why was Gowther reading his mind? Why?! What if someone else heard and thought it... disgusting?

“Usually in my books when a man falls for someone he finds attractive... they sleep together.” Slader would swear steam shot out of his ears. His cheeks felt like they were on fire. Sl-sleep with... oh my god! He knew Gowther was male and that Gowther's maleness possibly behaved the same way his own did; even though the other man was a doll. And the other man had to know what sleeping with someone meant... hadn't he?

“Come, let us sleep together.” Slader was sure if he'd been drinking something he would have spat it out. As it was, a small trickle of blood slid down from his nose. Again, his mask thankfully concealed how he was actually feeling.

“Your heart rate increased at the suggestion, so you appear to approve.” Was this hell? Or heaven? He didn't know. He did know he wanted whatever Gowther would give him. If that was just a little cuddling, a little touching... He was perfectly okay with that. Gowther held out his hand.

“Take me to bed, Sir Slader.” Slader took hold of Gowther's hand and led him up to the room he was staying in. Thankfully... he was alone. He wouldn't want anyone to see him in bed with Gowther and get the wrong idea. His cheeks heated when the doll immediately reached for his top, it quickly going over his head. The blush darkened when Gowther began tugging his trousers down.

“G-Gowther! Were... you serious about...?” Gowther turned to look at him with a soft look.

“I sleep in the nude.” Slader realised this was going to be a lot harder. If he stripped down like he normally did... so much skin against so much skin...

“Do you sleep in the nude also, Slader?” He swallowed, quickly shaking his head. He wore only his underwear. And it was by Gowther asking the question that he realised the doll meant 'sleep together' in the literal sense. As in, share a bed, cuddle and fall asleep. He did know that meant one thing. He'd have to take the mask off. Which would make it very clear what he was feeling as he wasn't good at hiding his expressions.

“I normally...” He dragged his top off, aware Gowther was watching him and trying not to care. It wasn't working, but he knew he had to do this. He dragged his trousers down too, fully aware the doll was looking. Which left only his mask. And he was more frightened of removing that than his trousers.

“You are very attractive.” Slader spluttered. His cheeks had to be red, but he had to do this. It was uncomfortable sleeping with his mask on. He unlatched it, putting it on the box he'd taken to using as a bedside table. Gowther was giving him a look.

“Why do you hide your face?” His heart started pounding. He wasn't good at hiding his emotions. His scar frightened people.

“That you can express your emotions is beautiful, Slader. And some people find scars attractive, even if they do mar someone's face.” His cheeks went pink. Gowther had read his mind again. He saw the doll heading to bed.

“Join me.” He shuffled over, a tiny bit nervous. This was... a lot. The sharing a bed with a man. The... sleeping together. In the literal sense! Slader had every intention of keeping his shorts on; he wouldn't dare. Gowther may not understand how two men did it, after all. That wouldn't be in the books the doll kept reading. He was surprised by the doll shuffling close, drawing him in to cuddle. It wasn't manly, but Slader loved being held. He was a little surprised by how warm Gowther was.

“Do we say sweet dreams now?” He nodded.

“Sweet dreams, Gowther.” He let his eyes fall closed, hoping he might actually get some sleep.

“Sweet dreams, Slader.” The doll whispered, right before he felt himself dozing off.

AN: The next morning, Gowther is asked where he was (since he normally is reading something in the tavern in the morning) and he answers that he slept with Slader. Cue the spluttering explanations, until Gowther explains exactly what happened. That two men shared a bed is not seen as strange since the Boar Hat has so few beds!

I think the moment Meliodas finally kills Dale is a real turning point in the series. Before this, he had not killed a single opponent. He just fought to disarm and incapacitate. Just the next episode, he tells ban and gowther to "go straight for the kill" against the holy knights. As we see throughout the rest of the series, even before his emotions get caught in purgatory, he no longer feels hesitant to kill. He only becomes more and more like himself from the time of the Holy War (post 10 commandments). This is why I love his character sm, a corruption arc (even if he is never truly evil) is just so rare and one this good and angst filled is even rarer.

The New Family Member

Rating: Fluff, Domestic Fluff, Kinda modern I guess because they have a car

It wasn't a particularly chilly day for the last day of October, yet Gowther and Slader still sat wrapped in a blanket cuddling into each other. Every so often one of them would have to get up as the last of the trick or treaters knocked on their door, but otherwise it was quiet and calm. When trick or treating hours were over, Gowther was the one that suggested watching a movie. Slader watched him as he skimmed over the horror movies before pulling out one of his favorites. They had watched the movie over a hundred times before but Gowther loved it and therefore Slader loved it. The movie involves a lot of gore (as to be expected from movies of the horror genre) and was centered around an escaped spider that appears normal but it progressively grows larger until it's the size of a building. Not to mention it has an obvious taste for human flesh. Halfway through the movie they feel asleep in each other's arms. The next morning was very cold as if to make up for the day before and to loudly announce that November had come. There was no snow yet though, to Gowther's obvious disappointment. Slader and Gowther spent the majority of the day in front of the fire wrapped in the same blanket as yesterday. Cups of now cool cocoa sat next to the couple with not a single marshmallow left, as they had been picking them off the top and feeding them to each other. Suddenly Slader suddenly got up and began to put his coat on. Gowther did the same immediately after, they were used to the other doing this and it usually meant a date that was unexpected by both of them. Slader held the door open for Gowther and they both stepped outside. Gowther then walked over to the car and held the driver's door open for Slader, determined to return the favor. It was an unspoken rule that whoever stood up to go out first drove. Along the drive Slader saw a pet store and decided that they should walk around and look for pets. When Slader voiced this idea to Gowther, they were quickly in agreement. When they got into the store they wandered around holding hands and pointing at pets. Gowther naturally gave a scientific speech for every animal they ran into and Slader happily listened. It was when they came across the spider that Gowther immediately thought and pointed out that it looked like the spider from the movie. He didn't have to though because Slader was thinking the same thing. They went through the process of buying it and getting the necessary tank, food, and plants for it. Then the whole drive home they discussed possible names. When they got home the habitat was immediately set up in the bedroom and the movie was turned on. As they laid down for bed that night they realized just how content they were with the other and their new eight legged family member. Perhaps one day they would get other pets, but that was something they would discuss at another time.
