The senseis mostly work on the outskirts of Skylands finding new recruits to train. So headcanon that they had NO IDEA about any of the weird shit that's been going on for the last like decade. Like they did not know the Giants were back till they returned to base in Imaginators. Like just an email would have been nice.

Ok, but I like to imagine that once Kafka in his Kaiju form and the Skylander Giants are videotaped fighting against other kaiju they become like celebrities. Like they're called the Heroic Fighting Monsters and in a few weeks there'd be merch of them and like popularity polls

LOL This is around the 3 month period before our himbo takes the Entrance Exam. Also it's definitely the mother of the kid Kafka saved in the second episode behind the merch. The manga gives solid evidence that she would do it too. Minor spoiler warning just in case for the the link.

Kafka just trying to find all the missing Giants unaware that someone is trying to make merch outta them. None of the group noticed at all as 'Heroic Fighting Monsters' definitely didn't click in anyone's minds. Then Swarm mentions he is a Skylander and that's when the whole entire thing takes off.

Reno's annoyed face as he shows his companions a toy commercial with their faces plastered all over it. Or the interview video involving the Defense Force about the Skylanders alongside Kaiju No. 8. Kafka is definitely embarrassed and smittened about it.

Reno feels like he's reigning in a circus at this point.

Odd question but what do you think about the Skylanders series?

I never bothered to look into it. At all. Ever. All I know is a bit about some popular characters when creatives I follow make content for them.

I do love Spyro the Dragon and know he's part of that universe, but wasn't enough to get into it beyond buying his figurines for my Spyro Shrine just cuz I love Spyro. I don't even have a working PlayStation but got all the games I care for (the reboot saga I ignored after playing the first one and we don't speak of Enter The Year Of The Dragonfly)

But Skylander as a whole.. eh. I know it has its fanbase, and good for them.

Currently watching a Skylanders Spyro's Adventure playthrough and this just came to mind. If we ever get a new Skylanders game or official remakes of the old ones then there are some things that I want to see. Peripherals aka the Portal and Figures are no longer mandatory. They're like double edged swords in my opinion.

You can't exactly play Skylanders without a compatible portal or figures as later games have different designs. Ex: Trap Team has a custom indent for traps. Don't get me wrong, the portal and figures add to the aesthetic. I also love collecting the different Skylanders.

However if you want to 100% via In-game collectibles then you need a Skylander of every element. (Something that later becomes type with Swap Force/Superchargers/Imaginators.) A Starter set for each Skylanders games only come with three different Skylanders so you got to pay out of pocket for new figures in real life stores.

It would be better for everyone, particularly their wallets, if all the playable Skylanders can be accessed easily in game and no portals are mandatory. Hell, do what Yu-Gi-Oh does where you can use the figures you already have to unlock ones in game. Hook up a portal, place down a figure and bam! New Skylander unlocked that you can play whenever afterwards.

Bring back the actual Story Scrolls instead of Flynn's diaries. It's one thing I loathed about later Skylanders entries because these new collectibles are a bit boring. Flynn is a great character but too much of a good thing can get grating. Let us learn more silly or morbid facts about Skylands than peep into someone's private logs.

Those are my personal pet peeves with the franchise. Right now, Skylanders Ring of Heroes mobile game and Skylanders Academy tv show are the only current media out at the moment. I think its about time we get an actual game.
