Hermit Life
Chapter 9: Three Men in a Cloud
I just released the ninth chapter of my fanfic series Hermit Life. Where strange goings on on the Hermitcraft server lead to them having to evacuate to a new server, but they accidentally end up in a new Life Series!
Check it out if you’re interested!

as someone who takes a French course, I can’t help but think of Skizz as “Skizz the man”
because “Skizzleman” = Skizz le man.
and Skizz Le Man translates to Skizz the man.
Skizz is the man. Singular.

Anonymous reminder to talk about you pj mcyt au! (I was told to name a smp in the tags so… fable? Do you have fable smp? I ask, knowing the answer is probably no) anyways! Have a good day, I love reading headcannons
LE GASP THANKSSSSSS
Sadly, I did not put Fable in here, have herad of it, and maybe I'll dig into it and add it later
BUT NOW LETS TALK
Athena and Ares Kids
False- Favored daughter of Athena. Best War strategist, greatest Archer of her siblings. Her father died when she was young, leaving her defenseless. Single-handedly got to camp at the age of 6. Oldest member of camp. Joined the Hunt at 16.
Etho- Always planning something. Typical gray eyes, used to have black hair. Went on a quest and came back with a scar, white hair, and very broody. Disappeared after a few years- unknown.
Gem- Gets along great with the Demeter cabin. Came to camp with Sausage, Fwhip, and Zed and now they are all honorary found family. Great swordswoman. Joined the Hunt at 14.
Impulse- Smart. Great tinkerer and craftsmen. His Dad was an inventor, and alive. Can craft almost anything, honorary brother of Hephaestus cabin and Skizz. Tango and he get into lots of fire trouble. Not the best at being strategy smart, or good at fighting, but great with people.
Pearl- Greatest daughter of Ares. Blood-thirsty. Has several mood swings. Great with plants, love playing pranks, and loves fighting the best. Knows how to weild several weapons. Once fought her own father and won. Came to camp when she was 8. Don't talk about her dad.
Puffy- Great strategist, fighter, and people person. Loves kids. Will fight anyone for the kids. Veteran Camper. Came back to help.
Reddoons- showed up at camp, found out he was a son of Ares, then disappeared. May or May not be working with the enemy.
Tapl- great Archer, and that's kinda it. Knows how to get out a situation. Very bored. Wished his dad was Apollo.
Techno- Greatest son of Ares. One of the few people who can beat Pearl, Liz, False, and Dream. Wished he was a son Athena. Doesn't like his dad. Tries to not be bloody thirsty like his dad, but in the heat of battle- well. Was brought to camp by Phil. In college. Mom died at War.
Xisuma- Veteran camper. Basically the adult supervision. Has the best plans. Took False in and helped her, along with several others, dubbing themselves as Hermits. Has a stygian sword, gift from Hades and Joe after helping them in the Underworld- yes he's been to the underworld, he's been to several places. Waves the fans off- but let's be real this guy was SICK back in his day.
Bek- strongest Ares kid. Both physically and will. Doesn't use weapons- only fists.
Welsknight- Doesn't like his dad, but understands the honor and need of War. Man came from a line of knights, holds up chivalry. Veteran person. Visits sometimes. Best friends with X, went on several adventures with him, like that time he held up the sky or killed a hydra or fought a Titan- ya know stuff.
Quig- Uses sword and only sword. Quick, in everything. Doesn't like to talk much. Great friends with Pete. In college. Dad died in shooter stampede. Hates guns.
Pete- Veteran camper. Earned a chariot in battle. Has pet birds. Great Archer and sword fighter. Green eyes that can peirce the soul or make you eat your vegetables.
Pigical- Also doesn't like his dad- surprising I know. Uses fast and nimble combat. Tries to be a pacisft. Weak. Very kind though. His mom banished him.
Boffy- most cruel son of Ares. Uses a scythe. Great fighter, but also very dangerous. Rumors said he tortured his victims, enjoying death. Disappeared. No one knows where, hopefully not to the enemy.
Muka- carries a gun. Son of Ares with modern weapons. Has a pet mechanical wolf. Disappeared, but more of a loner. Found the other camp, kinda just chills. Great mom visits regularly.

Matt Mars "I'm on a mission to rap everyday” derken harbiymiş gayet.

The Fable of Skizz’s Raid
It’s on AO3 if you’d prefer to read it there.
There was once a Minecrafter known to one of his friends as Skizz Le Man, but many simply knew him as Skizz.
One day Skizz was happily working on a building project when a Pillager patrol snuck up on him. But being a Minecraft veteran, he was able to quickly deal with the patrol.
After defeating the final Pillager, the captain of them, he suddenly got a Bad feeling, like an Omen of ill tidings to come. In hopes that the feelings would fade with time, Skizz logged off for the night.
When Skizz returned to the server the next day, the feeling was gone, but a horn was sounding, and not a horn that imitated an inappropriate sound bite of one of his friends, a horn calling people to arms. And Skizz found himself suddenly surrounded by more pillagers, far more than was in the patrol, he had summoned a Raid. In a panic Skizz flew away to the top of his pyramid where he surveyed the situation.
As he overlooked the Pillagers ransacking his base, two of his friends and neighbours came and joined him on his pyramid. There he recounted to them his troubles and the fact he had left in such a hurry he didn’t even have weapons to fight off the Raiders.
In response to this, one of his friends, Grian, said, “If you just ignore the problem, it will go away.”
Skizz responds to Grian, repeating what he had said earlier in his retelling, “I tried to ignore the problem when I left yesterday but… that went poorly.”
Grian doubled down, “You’ve really got to ignore it for longer. With long terms issues you’ve really gotta commit. Just don’t come back for, I don’t know, a couple months.”
Skizz was very indignant at this suggestion and barked back at his friend, “Oh come on! That’s too mean.” Before whimpering, “What are we gonna do?”
Skizz’s other friend Gem then spoke up, “Well you’ve gotta kill them Skizz.”
Grian quickly interjects, “I told you what to do! Leave it! Ignore it! It’s only your problem if you claim it as your problem.”
Gem remarks looking at the Raiders and their proximity to other peoples builds, “Are they gonna kill Impulse’s villagers?”
Skizz, worried for his friend’s villagers responds, “Well we gotta go down there!”
And as he starts to fly from his pyramid, Grian grabs him by the arm and says, “You’re not understanding what I’m saying. I can’t help but think you aren’t hearing my words.”
Skizz complains with this particular bit of advice, “So I just can’t go over there? Can’t go in my home?”
Grian shakes his head vigorously, “It’s not that you can’t go over there. It’s that you don’t. In fact, why don’t we just turn this way?”
As he says this he grabs Gem and Skizz in each hand and turns them to look away from Skizz’s home and towards the homes of Tango and Pearl, their good friends across the way.
Gem and Skizz breathe a comforted sigh seeing their friend’s beautiful buildings, and then Grian breaks the silence with a, “Gone! See! The problem’s gone! I see no problem here!”
As Skizz wallows a little at this less than perfect suggestion, Gem tries to comfort him saying, “If we don’t want to go with Grian’s suggestion, instead, we can kill almost all of them except one and bury the last one in a hole.”
You see, it was a little known quirk of Illager culture that if an entire first wave of a Raid had been wiped out, others would come as an act of revenge. But if one survived, the Raiders would see this as an act of mercy and not send any more Raiders to attack. And this is the course of action Gem suggested.
Skizz, much happier with this suggestion commented, “Ooh, that’s good. That *is* good!”
And once more as Skizz headed to the edge of his pyramid to fly off, Grian planted his palm in front of Skizz’s chest to stop him saying, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a second.”
Gem interjects before Grian can say any more, “He likes my idea better.”
Grian carries on, ignoring Gem, “Well what looks like is happening, is you’re falling into the trap, of doing something. See, I’ve fallen into that one before. Here’s the thing, you don’t need to do it.”
Gem counters, “But we could also just be proactive and handle the problem. Trust me, you can take them out. You can handle this.”
And trust her he did. Skizz and Gem flew off to fight the Raiders, and helping eachother they were able to, with some injuries, defeat all but one Pillager. But as they were trying to trap this remaining Raider in a hole, Grian, angry they had not heeded his advice, shot down the final raider. He then jeered at Skizz and Gem, “This is what happens when you sort out your problems!”
And not long after, another horn sounded, this time bringing a raiding force filled with the wish for revenge, a raiding force far more deadly than the last. But Gem is well known for her battle prowess, and was able to corner and capture one of the raiders early on, leaving the rest to be defeated by her and Skizz without need to hold back. But just as they defeated the final free Pillager, they turned back to the one they had trapped to see Grian pointing his bow at the helpless Illager. And he released the arrow, along with another wave of angry Pillagers.
Twice more this happened, the brave Minecrafters barely battling their way through the bullish Ravagers and the daggers of Vexes. Until there was only one Raider left. It was then that Grian called out, “Well this is a good spot to just leave the problem now. We can trap this last guy if you want.”
But seeing Grian’s vengeful spirit in him not listening to him earlier, Skizz ignored these words and landed the final kill on the pillager. No horns blared, no Pillagers came. They were finally free from the Raiders. At the end of the Raid there was simply, peace.
The above short story is an unreliable narration of part of GeminiTay’s Hermitcraft Season 10 Episode 13. It is loosely following the story of Pandora’s Box (Which was originally Pandora’s Jar until a mistranslation by the way.), but all Fables are meant to have teachings in them, so just as many scholars have debated the meaning behind Pandora’s Jar for centuries, I shall leave you to ponder the Fable of Skizz’s Raid.

Zedaph and Tango are camping at Xisuma base with megaphones and protest sighs calling for the immediately white list of one Skizz Le Man.
Xisuma, running away: WE ARE NOT GETTING ANY NEW HERMITS! Grian, Impulse, Gem, and Scar, chasing him: SKIZZ! SKIZZ! SKIZZ!

Midyear list of my favorite 2019 hip hop projects. Seems like a lot of people are disappointed with the year so far but i think it’s been pretty damn solid. probably should have waited for bandana to drop since there’s a good chance that’ll at least be top 10 but oh well. also i gotta mention YG3 from Nickelus F & Ohbliv, if that had an official release it definitely would be up there. been playing a rip of that brewer’s sessions performance nonstop.  if you click the names of the albums it’ll take you to bandcamp or somewhere else where you can stream them. hopefully you’ll find something new here that you enjoy. i’d appreciate any recommendations y’all want to send my way as well. peace.  Link to chart w/ album titles included Spotify playlist with tracks from these albums and more Billy Woods & Kenny Segal - Hiding Places Quelle Chris - Guns Slauson Malone - A Quiet Farwell, 2016–2018 Aesop Rock & Tobacco - Malibu Ken Flying Lotus - Flamagra Your Old Droog - It Wasn't Even Close Clear Soul Forces - Still MIKE - tears of joy Yugen Blakrok - Anima Mysterium DJ Muggs & Mach-Hommy - Tuez-Les Tous Sadistik - Haunted Gardens Injury Reserve - Injury Reserve Tree - WE Grown NOW. Tag 7 + 8
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So friedlich....

Pavillon Le Corbusier

(gh)

The Best of the 1st Half -*2019 Pundit’s PlayLi$t*... (continued)
51. “Sake” - Curren$y, LNDN DRGS & Jay Worthy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YsZV08V5tU
(A smooth AF beat that sounds like it belongs on Alchemist’s Yacht Rock series.)
52. “Oranges” - Nolan The Ninja feat. Jaye Prime
https://soundcloud.com/mellomusicgroup/nolan-oranges
(I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed Nolan’s album. “Oranges” was an early single that kept growing on me, and continues to do so.)
53. “Mami Wata” - DJ Muggs & Mach-Hommy feat. Your Old Droog & Tha God Fahim
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1J87tR2yJE
(Sick Muggs beat off of the final version of Tuez-Les Tous. I wouldn’t mind hearing these three drop a full project together, they all bring a different vibe and seem to share legit respect for one another)
54. “Murray’s” - Fly Anakin & Tuamie feat. Skyzoo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYyGTepAhM0&list=PLAfLqY9BQJkyjUuDAEn7cehQ3DZWAZogX&index=8
(Good things happen whenever Skyzoo connects with rising underground stars. Ask Griselda, and now you can ask Mutant Academy, too.)
55. “Helping Hand” - Lisaan’dro
https://lisaandro.bandcamp.com/track/helping-hand-produced-by-tcor
(If M.A.D.E. proved anything, it’s that Lisaan’dro is an absolute force to be reckoned with. If you haven’t checked out his impressive debut project yet, no better time than the present to rememdy that.)
56. “Still” - Maxo Kream
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3Tza0cGrQk
(Maxo may have just dropped the best project of his career, and this woozy thumper is one of his hardest tracks yet.)
57. “Hard Bottoms & White Socks” - YG
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/yg-hard-bottoms-white-socks-video-851842/
(A lot of folks weren’t feeling YG’s latest album, but it would be hard to criticize this smooth as hell opener.)
58. “Million Man March” - Quadry & Tuamie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZANAUjScpnk
(Strong bars over a hypnotic instrumental, both Quadry and Tuamie more than did their thing on this one.)
59. “BIRDZ” - Denzel Curry feat. Rick Ross
https://soundcloud.com/denzelcurryph/birdz-feat-rick-ross?in=denzelcurryph/sets/zuu-3
(Denzel Curry and Rozay bring the Florida heat on this trippy banger off of Curry’s stellar ZUU album.)
60. “Cash War” - Gunna
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObdMBhfySMI
(Gunna has had a fantastic year so far, and this song shows why he is a natural hitmaker. Drip or Drown 2 is one of mainstream rap’s finest records of 2019.)
61. “Elixir” - Mooch & Futurewave feat. Daniel Son, Saipher Soze & Rigz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPMeLCGHcB8
(This Mooch and Futurewave album is something serious, and I’m a sucker for a good posse cut.)
62. “Mister” - Young Nudy & Pi’erre Bourne feat. 21 Savage
https://soundcloud.com/youngnudy/mister-feat-21-savage?in=youngnudy/sets/slimerre-2
(Just a fun, bouncy collaboration from two of the game’s most unpredictable trap flows. Nudy is Pi’erre’s greatest collaborator, and there is really something to be said for any rap artist that makes it hard for the listener to guess what they’ll say next. What Savage & Nudy may lack in clever wordplay they make up for in flow, charisma, and catchy hooks.)
63. “Spongebob” - billy woods + kenny segal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83F4JpVu61k
(Segal’s production is perfect background for woods to go to work. If Hiding Places isn’t in your collection, that must change immediately.)
64. “NYC” - Jim Jones feat. Fat Joe
https://soundcloud.com/jim-jones-capo/nyc-feat-fat-joe?in=jim-jones-capo/sets/el-capo
(Just one of a cornucopia of classic-sounding Heatmakerz firecrackers off of Jim Jones’ surprisingly powerful El Capo.)
65. “No Pop Filter” - Mach-Hommy feat. Tha God Fahim
https://soundcloud.com/mach-hommy/no-pop-filter-feat-tha-god-fahim
(An uptempo loosie from Mach & Tha God Fahim - an atypically catchy one, too - that “pure cocaine” hook from Fahim is an ear-worm.)
66. “Still Trill” - Bun B & Statik Selektah feat. Method Man & Grafh
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOHG8eDzrgw
(I’m not sure if the live Bunb B & Statik album recording session changed the game, but at least it brought us strong collaborations like this one.)
67. “Money In The Way” - 2 Chainz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoEOHSaO2Uc
(2 Chainz has more to say than his moniker indicates, and Rap Or Go To The League certainly showed that. I wasn’t as high on this album as some, but it does have a few Hov & Just Blaze-esque anthems.)
68. “Proceed On” - Fly Anakin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FO2mRZTX8XM
(A slick loosie from one of Mutant Academy’s finest.)
69. “Headlines” - DJ Premier feat. Westside Gunn, Conway & Benny
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKKewhmBhAo
(Truth be told, if you didn’t know this was a DJ Premier beat you all would have just been happy as hell with this one. The Griselda gang did no wrong “Headlines”.)
70. “Chiney Brush” - Mach-Hommy feat. Quell Chris
https://soundcloud.com/mach-hommy/chiney-brush-feat-quelle-chris?in=mach-hommy/sets/wap-konn-joj-1
(I shouldn’t have to tell you why a Mach, Quelle and Alchemist joint belongs on this list.)
71. “Playground Bench” - Raz Fresco feat. AZ & BriskInTheHouse
https://soundcloud.com/razfresco/playground-bench-ft-raz-fresco-az-briskinthehouse
(Bonus points to anyone that caught this join! A way, way under the radar AZ feature warrants more shine. But don’t sleep, Raz Fresco’s whole project is pretty dope.)
72. “CLONES” - Tierra Whack
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-8qrzg-vgQ
(Walking the fine line between truth and song parody, Tierra may have been imitating her peers with this one, but nevertheless the final result is catchy as hell.)
73. “WYRM” - Quelle Chris
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DNS1pXDec0
(Another gorgeous track from a man that low-key has one of the strongest discographies in rap music, Detroit’s Quelle Chris.)
74. “Sunflower Seeds” - Young Nudy & Pi’erre Bourne
https://soundcloud.com/youngnudy/sunflower-seeds?in=youngnudy/sets/slimerre-2
(Perfect example of how Nudy’s flow feels so organic that he can ride all over a simple, breezy beat, ultimately saying very little, but somehow never sounding monotonous.)
75. “Omerta” - Drake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csd3AIPrxs8
(While “Money In The Grave” received the publicity, it’s “Omerta” that gave us the glimpse of the stronger side of Drake’s rap game.)
76. “Meet Again” - Maxo Kream
https://soundcloud.com/maxo-kream/meet-again
(Another dope Maxo Kream song, another great example of this story telling skills as a MC.)
77. “First Or Last” - Wiz Khalifa & Curren$y
https://soundcloud.com/wizkhalifa/first-or-last-1
(Oh you forgot about that 2009 tape, eh? Well that’s your fault, not theirs - there are a lot of solid joints on here.)
78. “We Ain’t The Same” - Rome Streetz & Futurewave
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGxhnclXRCk
(One of the year’s strongest collaborations, Rome Streetz and Futurewave cooked up a fantastic project with Headcrack. Keep an eye on both artists, I swear they each keep getting stronger with every release.)
79. “Enough is Enough” - Mooch & Futurewave
https://bosssauce.bandcamp.com/track/enough-is-enough
(Mooch has one of the top 5 under the radar releases this year, and together with Futurewave their Boss Sauce project hits hard from start to finish.)
80. “Trained To Kill (Big Body Whip)” - G Herbo & 808 Mafia feat. Gunna
https://pitchfork.com/levels/g-herbo-trained-to-kill-ft-gunna-new-song-listen/
(I have been a G Herbo apologist for some time now, but his latest project was the first tape he put out in a while that I felt was solid start to finish. Gunna’s hook-work completely steals the spotlight here.)
81. “Gems” - Nolan The Ninja feat. A-Minus
https://soundcloud.com/nolantheninjaofficial/gems-feat-a-minus
(Classic underground vibes from this head nodder, one of many shining moments off SPORTEE.)
82. “Still Playing Celo” - Meyhem Lauren & The Alchemist
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir9l4PBQSOA
(Still waiting on that “Code Name” B Side, but that’s just because Side A was so potent.)
83. “Clout” - Offset feat. Cardi B
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IafCTjajefE
(Go ahead and hate on this selection, but “Clout” easily has one of the best beats of the year, a great hook, and the star power needed to make this song hit-worthy.)
84. “Rich Man” - Monday Night
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiE-0RaVeww
(Look out for this Mutant Academy affiliate, he can stand on his own two. Richmond, stand-up!)
85. “Homesick” - Stik Figa & Rob Viktum feat. Ty Farris
https://soundcloud.com/robviktum/stik-figa-rob-viktum-homesick-feat-ty-farris
(Underground veterans unite for a joint that excels in its’ simplicity, never rocking the boat but still sounding hungry as hell..)
86. “Consignment” - Tsu Surf feat. Benny
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfh6wnbWktE
(Tsu dropped a dope tape this year, so naturally connecting with the likes of Benny can only yield great results.)
87. “Divine” - Crimeapple & DJ Skizz
https://soundcloud.com/crimeapple-music/divine
(Possibly the most devastatingly sad song on this list. A great example of Crimeapple’s potential as more of an artist than a punchline MC.)
88 “GLL” - Jace feat. KEY! and Slim Jxmmi
https://soundcloud.com/retrojace/gll-prod-by-dj-fu
(Not really sure where this one came from - or how a Slim feature could travel so far below the radar at this point, but regardless, this thing is hard.)
89. “Slippery Slope” - Blockhead feat. billy woods, Open Mike Eagle & Breezly Brewin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNmOVK8IK-M
(Fantastic combo of MC’s, and Blockhead’s production is floats along so beautifully.)
90. “Chili Noodles” - Sauce Heist feat. Ty Da Dale
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdbAU0EuBeY
(NY’s Sauce/$auce Heist is a strong up and comer, and his latest Wasabi album can - and should - be played start to finish because it is very good.)
91. “40 & a Mule” - ToneyBoi feat. therealSkitso
https://toneyboi.bandcamp.com/track/40-a-mule-ft-therealskitso-prod-by-onaje-jordan
(Love this one right here - and ToneyBoi’s whole tape.)
92. “We Try” - Flee Lord feat. Little Prodigy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZISWQl6lwwA
(Griselda affiliate Flee Lord must be drinking the same water as the rest of the talented artists in upstate NY right now, because he is having a banner year. The soulful presence of Little Prodigy kept this one on my radar.)
93. “Not Too Many” - Flipp Deniro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7tEIkJcgeE
(I was sleeping on Flipp before this one, but after this ear-worm dropped, I’m checkin’ for him now.)
94. “BLOW” - Grafh & Benny
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsuFchTUiks
(I will never got tired of this sample. Just like I will never get tired of hearing Grafh and Benny rap side by side.)
95. “Davis St.” - ElCamino
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F2Uh4HuIqs
(The young Griselda affiliate represents two generations of New York rap, embracing both the soulful grit of NY of old as well as the wavy post-Max B and French Montana influence. On tracks like “Davis St.”, it works like a charm.)
96. “Sam” - 2 Chainz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEmBktGjmA4
(Chainz sounds as focused as ever has on this message-sending album closer.)
97. “Let Me Tell ya” - Smif N Wessun feat. Rick Ross
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfISkwdTgSA
(Come for the Smif N Wessun album, stay for the Ross verse.)
98. “Black” - Dave
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDUPSNdmFew
(Not the most Google-friendly name if you want folks to stumble upon your music…then again, when you have a tightly written album like Dave’s Psychodrama, the buzz comes off the strength of the content.)
99. “Suge” - DaBaby
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPpmGHn6gB8
(What DaBaby lacks in depth of content, he makes up for with flow and sheer charisma.)
100. “Come See Me” - Killy Shoot
https://soundcloud.com/killyshoot/come-see-me-prod-by-mookneto
(Worcester’s Killy Shoot may not have been a rap artist that I was all that familiar with at the start of 2019, but he has sounded impressive on every song I have heard since he popped up on my Soundcloud.)
