We can read a text with just a little more effort if some letters are occasionally illegible; our brain is capable of filling in those gaps to bring out meanings from context. FNAF POKEMON AU!!!

More details on William Afton

In the AU, William was fascinated with pokemons, so much that him and his buddy Henry made an entire franchise of animatronics based on them, creating Ursaring Entretainment and its various establishments.

Their first restaurant was Ursaring's Family Diner, which had an ursaring (the company's mascot) and a hypno (due to Afton's insistence) as their first animatronics

He also wanted to become a pokemon professor before the company, to study pokemon and their abilities but he never got a license, since his methods of study were... Questionable, to say the least. (Ya know, shocking, boiling, tearing them apart-)

William was very interested in pokemons and how they lived, although most pokemon didn't approach him at all, feeling unneasy by him for some reason (gee, i wonder why) except for a hypno he had once, and that's why he likes hypnos in general and wore the springhypno suit at the beggining. so the animatronics Henry made brought some comfort to him since he could get close to them, but something was missing since they weren't really alive, but he would "fix" that very soon :)

Then we all know what happened, he used the hypno springlock suit to lure children and kill them, stuff them in the animatronics, the robots come to life, the company tries hiding it all under the rug and all that jazz.

The existence of the animagony was a secret, since researchers would have to investigate the restaurants, and the suits, and it was already a mess for them with all the things surrounding the missing children and murders so the employees weren't allowed to talk about it outside the company or mess with the animatronics/pokemon.

And when William found out about the pokemon, he was very intrigued, deciding to capture them for studying, and steals parts of the animatronic suits as well. He discovers the substance composing the pokemon, that would be the remnant, how it can trap souls in metal and bring people back to life, and how the pokemon come to be, so he tries making more of them (that meaning, more murder) and trapping them into more animatronic suits and controlling them.

And he's the one who makes the pokedex entries for the animagony, although tecnically it isn't in the pokedex, since the whole thing was a secret AND VERY MUCH ILEGAL (besides, he isn't a pokemon professor, but who's gonna stop him?)

Entry 1: (i changed it a little bit)

"This pokemon comes into existence due to the negative feelings surrounding an agonizing soul, trapped in the metal, undying..."

Entry 2:

"Animagony usually don't move during the day, but can get quite peculiar at night, becoming violent and unpredictible towards humans, but it doesn't seem to mind other pokemon"

And then there's the hypno springlock suit failure, when he was surrounded by five animagony. It happens just like how it happened with Springtrap, his body being impaled and stuck in the suit, leaving him in an undead state. The remnant changed him, but It doesn't turn him into a pokemon exacly, though he is partially an animagony, since most of his body is made of remnant now, although there still are some organic parts (Ew, smelly).

He can't really use any pokemon moves, since he isn't one, but he does aquire a bit of psyquic power, now he can actually use his hypno pendulum to control the animagony, possibly the effect of the remnant. He can still attack people, but it isn't with pokemon moves. (Im not sure if what he does counts as the move hypnosis though? Since that it makes pokemon sleep, not control them)

With the rewrite I'm planning on doing for after the defeat of Dr. Blakk, I want to make it more mature due to the fact most of us fans are at least teenagers or adults.

But is it just ok to blatantly state, hey this is gonna get dark...?

Literally with the Eastern caverns I can show the proper damage under control Junjie must've done and a proper dive into the destruction of caverns.

I just want to touch on the sensitive topics that can all come with Slugterra and it's people.

E.g. Properly delving into horrible childhoods, ilegal gangs, the horrors of Darkbane and dark water, the terrifying event of accidentally going down to Slugterra (more so unwillingly), just killing and assassins in general because most of my important villains have killed people including characters I want to give more attention to.

But does that work to just warn readers and start the story?

Giving warnings, when doing mature content is like, the standard at this point, when ever I make a post, or do a fic I make it a point to try and include it in the tags, and state at the top of the post what the warnings are, when I make that kind of post.

In TFTiNE I made it a point to mention I was adding the inclusion of drugs and death in the tags on AO3, and when I made the Apothecary Diaries rant and the Mature Deadweed thing, I added TW for the content mentioned in those posts, as I am aware not everyone reading them is going to be comfortable with the content.

You even see some of the other Members of the community add TW as well to the top of their posts, when its warranted, and blatantly state what's going on.

a Trigger Warning/ Warning in general is to inform the reader/viewer that : "hey this content may make you uncomfortable with what's in it, don't read/view if you don't like anything mentioned in the warnings, or are in a bad mental state. But if you continue you are aware of what you are getting into and have silently agreed to consume this content despite the very clear, and very blunt warnings about it"

A TW is, you as an author doing your do diligence in making sure whoever your reader is, aware that what you are posting may not be for them. And giving that reader a chance to back out before continuing.

A TW dose not stop people form reading/viewing what you make, and it wont stop the inevitable 'WTF why would you make this, it makes me uncomfy' style comment, even though that person was warned at the start.

It gives the audience a fair warning, and if you are going to include mature content in you work, when it's the bear minimum to include some sort of Content Warning at the top of your work.

So yes, when and if you make something with Mature Content, do include a viable TW, as its common curtesy. You don't even have to be all that descriptive, just single words like: TW : Drug Use, Murder, Abuse, Gore, ect, work as a warning.

In short, nothing wrong with you wanting to go the more mature route with the Storyline of your Au, just do your do diligence!

“Did you fall into the ocean or something?” Whitebeard asked, seeing Rene with his hair wet to the point Whitebeard could see a bit of the neck of Rene’s shirt was wet as well.

“Huh? No, I just took a shower.”

“And you didn’t think drying your hair was a good idea?”

“It will dry on its own,” Rene replied, it wasn’t like his hair was dripping or anything so there was no reason to dry it completely. It was hot and he was under the sun, his hair would be dry in no time.

Whitebeard sighed, “go get a towel.”

“Why?” He had just come out to the deck and he didn’t want to go back inside, sitting on Whitebeard’s leg was more relaxing considering he didn’t have anything to do.

“Since I have such a lazy son I’ll dry your hair.”

“Your lazy son does not want to move.”

Whitebeard didn’t say anything to that, instead he just grabbed Rene and put him on the ground, “go.”

it was Rene’s turn to sigh but didn’t try to say anything else, it was better to just listen to Whitebeard. He went and got a towel just as Whitebeard asked him and then went back to sitting on his leg.

Despite his height, Whitebeard knew how to be careful, he was using just one hand as he dried Rene’s hair.

“Should I return the favor and make your head all shiny like a bowling ball?”

Whitebeard didn’t say anything to that.

Akagi aka my grandpa

“Aren’t you going to dry your hair?” Akagi asked Rene. Rene had managed to convince Akagi to go eat something with him and so the two were in Rene’s apartment.

“It will dry on its own.”

“Or you could use a hair dryer.”

“Don’t have one. Let’s just go eat.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you until you look presentable.”

“I’m wearing a suit!”

Akagi just laughed at him, “and you’re ruining your presentation by not drying your hair.”

Rene sighed, he knew it was impossible to win against Akagi no matter the situation. He just walked back to the bathroom to get a towel and dry his hair as much as he could.

“It would be faster if you had a hair dryer.”

“Don’t like them.”

Akagi lit a cigarette as he saw Rene dry his hair, he stood from where he was and walked towards Rene, putting his hands on the towel, “I’m going to die if you don’t hurry.” He started to help Rene.

“You want to detach my head?”

Instead of a reply Akagi just laughed again, “this is what you get for being too greedy and losing a yakuman.”

Rene ignored that comment, “so you do want to take my head away from me!”

“I’m never helping you again.” Akagi walked towards the door and opened it.

“I was kidding!” He hurried to go after Akagi not caring that his hair was a mess now, “I’ll return the favor.”

“Try that and I’m taking one of your arms.”

Week 9 - Class Feedback

Type exploration

I decided to focus on playing around with the composition of my type as in my formative feedback I received said that it was not legible.

I came up with different variations of playing with my text. I still used the poem, as well as tried to keep with the idea of 'bustling'.

For this one I came up with a more simple, clean, layout of my type.

For this poster, the feedback I got was that it was more structured and clearer to read. I had to either choose between this small version of the text or the larger version.

If I were to develop this I would need to play more with the depth through the use of textures, possibly in the stairs.

It was also mentioned something about having the "feeding pigeons" bit scattered?

Maybe I could also add some sort of shadow or something extending the "A"

This is the larger version.

Some feedback I got for this one was that the letter "E" was lost.

This second poster I decided to cut up the top/bottom of the words and placed them on its side, which was also meant to simulate the idea of steps.

However, the letters are still slightly ilegible, unless I was trying to go for a more abstract version.

I could either make it so that the vertical type could sit lower in the corner, make it seem almost opposite to the corner text in the top right.

The feedback for this poster was to sort the text in a more grid-like structure.

Another thing was to balance out the size of each of the text:

reduce the amount of text in the small sized paragraphs + maybe make it slightly bigger

decrease the size of the middle-sized text to give enough room for the text next to it.

I could also add the step graphics back as the background, and maybe add texture to that

Violet aprendeu a se cuidar desde cedo, quando seus pais morreram em um acidente de carro que deixou ela e sua irmã mais nova, Powder, orfãs. Passaram alguns dias em um lar temporário antes do seu padrinho conseguir a guarda delas, mas foi tempo suficiente para que o temperamento de Vi lhe colocasse em maus lençóis. Sempre foi assim, ela era do tipo que batia primeiro e depois fazia as perguntas, ainda mais quando se tratava de alguma criança idiota mexendo com Powder. Suas notas no colégio não eram exemplares, tirava uns cochilos no fundo da sala e antagonizava os professores, mas podia ter terminado o ensino médio se não fosse por aquela explosão. Ao longo dos anos, Powder aprender a se cuidar sozinha, mas depois de semanas ouvindo poucas e boas de um grupo de meninos mais velhos, a garota levou uma das suas bombas para o colégio e quase matou os colegas de classe. Violet levou a culpa por ela, como sabia que deveria fazer, e os meses seguintes foram passados no reformatório. Todo mundo acreditava que cedo ou tarde, VI acabaria atrás das grades.

Ela deixou o centro de detenção antes de fazer dezoito anos, mas não voltou para o colégio. Sabia que não tinha um futuro acadêmico, ao contrário de Powder que era mais inteligente do que todos ali. Vi começou a trabalhar então no The Last Drop, o bar do seu padrinho Vander. Da mesma forma que os brigões tinham medo de enfrentar o homem, ela também conseguia impor respeito, apesar da idade.

Depois de algum tempo, começou a ficar inquieta, querendo ter a sua própria casa, por isso, quando um dos seus clientes favoritos (porque as gorjetas dele eram boas) disse que estava procurando alguém para dividir o aluguel de um apartamento, Vi aceitou na hora. Sempre existia o perigo dele ser um psicopata, mas ela achava que podia lidar com ele.

Agora que parte do seu salário ia para o aluguel, o seu sonho de ter uma boa moto ficava cada vez mais longe. Ela sabia que podia pedir ajuda para Vander, mas ele já tinha as despesas da universidade de Powder, então ela tinha que arranjar outro jeito. O que conseguiu foi um dinheiro fácil participando de lutas ilegais que aconteciam em uma antiga academia. Esse era o seu segredo.

Algumas pessoas podiam estranhar os cortes no rosto ou o inchaço, mas ela usava o cabelo e a maquiagem para tentar esconder, as vezes um capuz protegia a sua cabeça. Era fácil concluir que tinha se metido em alguma briga na rua.

Mesmo depois de comprar a sua moto, ela continuou participando das lutas. Tinha tanta raiva dentro dela depois dos anos de luto que reprimiu pedindo para ser gasta que ela simplesmente não conseguia ver uma outra forma de fazer isso. Terapia? Não, que ideia louca!

Sua preocupação com dinheiro voltou a aparecer quando Jayce anunciou que iria se mudar para o seu próprio canto. Como ela iria pagar o aluguel sozinha? Antes que pudesse começar a surtar, ele lhe contou que tinha convidado a sua amiga para ficar no lugar dele. Vi nunca conheceu a garota, apenas falou com ela por mensagem de texto e de vez em quando pelos post-its na geladeira.

As suas rotinas eram diferentes: Violet chegava quase de manhã em casa, dormia até o meio da tarde e ia embora antes da outra chegar para trabalhar no The Last Drop. Em alguns dias, ela lutava na academia. Em outros, ela tocava bateria numa banda com amigos. Nos fins de semana, ia visitar Powder na universidade, dormindo no seu dormitório no sábado e domingo, o que talvez estivesse começando a irritar a mais nova.

Imoralidade Urbanística

Francesco Rosi dirige um argumento seu e de Rafaelle La Capria, Enzo Provenzale e Enzo Forcella, denunciando a especulação urbanística e corrupção na cidade de Nápoles nos anos 60.

A época foi, de facto, de explosão urbanística, não apenas em Nápoles mas em grande parte da Europa, fazendo coincidir o boom económico do pós guerra com o êxodo rural massivo e a descolonização de alguns países, que conduziram a um crescimento enorme da construção, a legal, mesmo viciada pela corrupção, e a ilegal, que originou vastos bairros de lata nos arredores das cidades.

Esta visão mais vasta, passa à margem do filme, preocupado exclusivamente em denunciar a especulação e a corrupção urbanísticas.

Talvez, ao tempo, faltasse o distanciamento necessário para uma análise mais vasta do problema, que os especuladores não criaram, mas se limitaram a tirar partido dele, ganhando dinheiro, imoralmente e nos limites da legalidade corrupta, com os projetos de urbanização e com a má qualidade da construção.

Não obstante, o que este filme tem de mais interessante, sessenta anos depois, é a sua atualidade. A situação urbanística é hoje substancialmente diferente da existente em Nápoles nos anos 60, na maioria das cidades europeias, no entanto a especulação e a corrupção continuam a dominar o setor imobiliário e a atuação das autoridades que o licenciam.

Já não são simples apartamentos de má qualidade para o povo, como no filme, mas são obras faraonicas para o município, urbanizações de luxo para os privilegiados ou investimentos turísticos, que acentuam a gentrificação dos centros históricos das cidades.

No fundo, não importa o que se constrói, mas as gestões municipais continuam hoje, como há sessenta anos atrás, reféns dos promotores imobiliários e especuladores que geram a riqueza, da qual depende, em última instância, a gestão municipal. Para além da corrupção, que continuará sempre a existir, o sistema assegura que as obras públicas e demais iniciativas locais sejam financiadas, essencialmente, pelas receitas provenientes das taxas e impostos gerados pela construção e pelo imobiliário, perpetuando assim um ciclo vicioso de especulação e corrupção urbanísticas.

Nesse sentido Rosi falha magistralmente na sua previsão de mudança, manifestada pelo conselheiro De Vita, o líder da oposição municipal de esquerda.

O povo muda, educa-se, ascende a melhorias substanciais nas suas condições de vida, mas em vez de exigir moralidade por parte do poder político, prefere comer um bocadinho do bolo, por mais miserável que seja.

Urban Immorality

Francesco Rosi directs a script written by himself and Rafaelle La Capria, Enzo Provenzale and Enzo Forcella, denouncing urban speculation and corruption in the city of Naples in the 1960s.

The period was, in fact, one of urban explosion, not only in Naples but in much of Europe, with the post-war economic boom coinciding with the massive rural exodus and the decolonization of some countries, which led to a huge growth in construction, both legal, albeit tainted by corruption, and illegal, which gave rise to vast shanty towns on the outskirts of cities.

This broader vision is left out of the film, which is exclusively concerned with denouncing urban speculation and corruption.

Perhaps, at the time, there was a lack of the necessary distance for a broader analysis of the problem, which the speculators did not create, but simply took advantage of, making money, immorally and within the limits of corrupt legality, with urban development projects and poor quality construction.

However, the most interesting thing about this film, sixty years later, is its relevance today. The urban situation today is substantially different from that of Naples in the 1960s, in most European cities. However, speculation and corruption continue to dominate the real estate sector and the actions of the authorities that issue its licenses.

These are no longer poor-quality apartments for the people, as in the film, but pharaonic projects for the municipality, luxury housing developments for the privileged or tourist investments, which accentuate the gentrification of the historic city centres.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter what is built, but municipal administrations continue today, as they were sixty years ago, to be held hostage by the property developers and speculators who generate the wealth on which municipal management ultimately depends. In addition to corruption, which will always exist, the system ensures that public works and other local initiatives are financed essentially by revenue from taxes and fees generated by construction and real estate, thus perpetuating a vicious cycle of urban speculation and corruption.

In this sense, Rosi fails miserably in his prediction of change, expressed by Councillor De Vita, the leader of the left-wing municipal opposition.

The people change, educate themselves, and achieve substantial improvements in their living conditions, but instead of demanding morality from the political powers, they prefer to eat a little bit of the cake, however miserable it may be.
