ommgg fallen leaves being possessive and slightly unhinged is so good. like, over the course of holly's stay in the tunnels there are signs--but holly also refusing to move on and be with her loved ones.

then hollyleaf realizes: "wait he's a little crazy, actually" . like, an omen of what could happen to her if she doesn't leave the tunnels and confront her past mistakes.

so in the end, fallen leaves' own self-destructive behavior further pushes the first friend he's had in decades away--and hollyleaf's decision to amend for what she's done/learning to live with her identity directly contrast's fallen's.

living in denial for what, a century? just exacerbates fallen leaves' fixation on isolating himself. he refuses to move on because doing so would mean he has to acknowledge that he made a mistake in his own ambition to become a sharpclaw. him impatiently going into the tunnels for his assessment ultimately resulted in a world of pain for his mother and groupmates--which also led to them leaving the lake and going to the mountains. (you could also rewrite his backstory and he still serves as a decent parallel to holly.)

plus it's deliciously dark to have fallen want to keep holly in the tunnels so she can die (and stay dead in the eyes of her loved ones) so he doesn't have to be alone anymore. alone with your mistakes for possibly eternity OR project yourself onto the next living thing within a 5 mile radius so you can BOTH live with your mistakes. TOGETHER.

solsquirrel is still one of my favorite wc rarepairs/crackships because squirrelflight knows what its like to do everything right and follow what you KNOW is the right thing to do, what you know anyone would do in a similar situation, but still have everyone turn their back on you and watch as your reputation gets dragged into the mud because everyone would rather hold their tongue and close their eyes than speak out against the system they live in; she had to watch herself and her sister essentially lose everything - leafpool lost her postion, they both lost the respect of their friends/family/clan, their children refused to speak to them, and their (former) mates embarrassed them publically - and not even their parents spoke up in support of them for fear of backlash.

and sol represents complete chaos and anarchy in wc terms as we know, but i think it takes only one conversation for sol to realize that 1. in his mind he was RIGHT about how flawed the clans are, but important 2. that his problems feel very....small, insignificant compared to what squirrelflight is going through. and its very jarring for someone like him - egotistical, lets be honest - to have it thrown in your face that yes you were definitely not wrong to hate the clans but man. theres this beautiful and sad person (cat) in front of you who seemed like she had her head on straight and by all accounts is a fantastic warrior and friend. and sol doesnt care or know much about families, but all she did was protect her sister from a system that would've chewed her up and spit her out just because she fell in love. and he has this just...sudden bout of sympathy for her and he just wonders whats the point of going back to thunderclan ? of living there day after day and even if - one day - your clan DOES decide to forgive you, how can you look at them all in the eye again and just be okay with the fact that they never did much to speak out for you or help you?

i think its so interesting to see two characters w such different values being brought together and having to realize like man....maybe youre right about some things.

sorry to beat a dead horse but aye i truly do not get what people are on about when they act like it's sexist to question the motives or do a more sympathetic reading of female antagonists (so, really just curlfeather and mapleshade) instead of "just letting them be pure evil like the male characters are".

like "we have shallow flat evil male characters who are evil for the sake of being evil, but not the equivalent for female characters, so surely we need to balance it out" well, uh. we don't have compelling, consistent, sympathetic female antagonists either! we are lacking in the morally grey female characters department too! what is being robbed!! and have you seen how the fandom used to talk about thistleclaw? people are going to be looking into sympathetic reasoning behind the male characters anyways! hell, canon does it sometimes! and this is completely ignoring the context of every sexist writing decision that exists in canon that is inevitably going into the writing of these characters and the people around them. you can't fix warrior cats fandom sexism by embracing the books at face value or hell, even stripping away even MORE nuance from them somehow, because the books themselves are also sexist LMFAO

yes, warrior cats needs more female villains. i don't think it's sexist that we don't need to read every vaguely antagonistic woman as cackling irredeemable monsters who drink kitten blood and were simply born into this world to kill people though, i think that take is honestly baffling.

(also, a lot of discussions about wc character morality in general tend to forget that fictional characters are not real people they are making callout posts about and are instead the authors trying to say or do something within a story they're telling. someone suggesting that curlfeather loved her daughter or that mapleshade is a victim of the warrior code is not enabling them to do more bad things to other people it is engaging with the story being told)

"Girlboss" character who takes shit from nobody and is super independent and has no tangible personality flaws except those are her personality flaws, she bottles things up and is closed off and unwilling to accept help from others because "it'll make her look weak" and in turn this causes her downfall because she never made any emotional connections and thus had no one to back her up when everything fell apart.

So Disclaimer I've Always Liked Suitcase a Lot More Than Balloon So Suitloon Felt to Me Like Suitcase and Her Less Interesting Boyfriend But I Did See the Appeal and Could Easily Have Enjoyed It a Lot if I Wasn't Massively More Invested in One Party. Even Then, Stuff Like Balloon Voting Himself to Save Suitcase is Very Sweet and I Would've Loved if in S3 Balloon Kept That Energy of Self Sacrificing to Defend Suitcase's Dignity. It's Endearing as Well as a Sign of How Much Hes Grown From His S1 Selfishness.

However S3 Wasn't That and I Cannot Imagine Suitloon Existing in Any Real Capacity Beyond Suitcase Feeling Horribly Betrayed and Balloon Maybe Feeling Really Guilty But Not Enough to Actually Change His Behavior. My Opinion of Balloon Has Dropped So Severly I Now Only Value Him as a Tool for Suitcase Character Development Cuz Like, What Else do You do With What They've Done to Him :[

if you mind me picking your brain for more new gen au stuff, i would love to learn more about the scourge x sasha x smoke poly! (triple s poly? lol) how did it become a thing? how long were they a thing before scourge died? were timber and pandora able to get to know their dad before he died? were hawkfrost, mothwing, tadpole, darktail, and darktail's littermates alive when the triple s poly was a thing? did scourge play an active father figure role in their lives? sorry if i'm bombarding you with questions i'm just very curious about lmaooooooooo

NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR QUESTION BOMBARDMENTS!!!!!! the only thing is….i’m definitely winging this one lol i got the pairings and thought oh that is adorable and smacked a canon sticker on them. This is all a hunch of half-baked ideas strung together so good god it might be Too Much (even for the Too Much AU this is lol)

My rough idea is that they all knew each other before the big darkest hour battle. Suburb and city cats, in my hc world, are VERY social and often have very elaborate social nets that they love collecting cats to add to. They have a trade and barter focused culture which adds to this (Princess and Smudge would exchange toys and treats when they’d visit one another). So the three knowing or at least catching wind of one another would be feasible, especially when Scourge starts getting a reputation.

Sasha’s a wanderer who came into the city. BloodClan, in this world, is not as over the top evil lol they’re not as bloodthirsty about borders as the Clans are. If you don’t make trouble, trouble won’t find you. I think she made a few friends before the whole Tigerstar and her thing went down. One of those friends is Scourge, the two hitting it off and becoming decent friends. Sasha is soft spoken but earnest and Scourge is quiet but does well to listen. Flirty banter ensues, what-if feelings start to bubble up, if they weren’t both held up on the possibility of losing their friendship, something more may have happened……BUT ANYWAY-

Another one of those friends being young mom Smoke struggling to raise her kiddo alone. Sasha intervenes because she’s not gonna leave her all by herself and takes her to BloodClan where she gets settled. Darktail would be a BloodClan cat in this, he’s already got punk makeup in most designs, he just needs a spiked collar.

Sasha eventually gets back to wandering and the whole Tigerstar thang happens. My general idea is Scourge survives because this is the indulgence AU actually, he’s cool and I like the idea of them being a cute trio lol ANYWAYS! I think Sasha would get it in her head that Scourge would hate the children because of their father and that leads to the RiverClan debacle. Cue that, she returns to BloodClan….and immediately gets embraced by her two old friends, demanding to know where she’s been and how dare she not visit for MOONS and how worried sick they were.

She sees Scourge’s wounds, the way Darktail is no longer the pudgy kit she’d carried…and she too realizes just how much she missed her friends. Cue an emotional reunion and eventual fall into confession. It’s a natural progression to them, just saying the words they’d all known they wanted to say for a long time. Eventually Sasha is able to tell the truth of what happened and cue more emotions. Scourge offers to retrieve the children but she quietly says they’re probably more at home in RC than they ever would be with her.

Timber is born first and then Pandora. Scourge is a pretty active father in their lives but can be gone for lengths at time settling disputes in the Clan, doing his town hall sessions where cats air out their grievances, and generally ‘taking care’ of troublemakers that don’t want to abide by the rules of the city (he’s not a total softie in, he still kills lol). I think Darktail would try and tag along with his dad and that’s where he starts to get some of his core ideas (that and his growing interest in “”real”” clan culture and his biodad. This one’s tough because vengeance isn’t motivating him anymore so I gotta work something out).

Darktail is the only one aware of his younger siblings, Moth and Hawk aren’t made aware of their existence until later on. I gotta figure that out though lol

This was a fun question!!! I think I’d consider this my very rough base of the trio and will be subject for change once I stop binging shows and do something more productive like work on my too many projects i have going

Imagine leaving your whole family in Gaza behind and having to evacuate to Ireland in the middle of a devastating war that spares no one and nothing. You watch the massacres live in the news and countless horrific scenarios play out in your mind, take your sleep away, and put you in a miserable condition.

You call your mother from the comfort and easy life of Ireland to hear the following words: the last couple of nights were horrible we could not sleep because of the nonstop bombing in the area! We bake rotten flour to make bread! We are freezing every night, especially the children!

Would not that boil the blood in your veins and drive you crazy?! In one what universe, one hears such things from his family in the middle of a genocidal war and does not lose it?! What studies?! What freaking PhD to focus on?!

First things first! Evacuating and saving my family first and other things come along later!

I personally believe everyone deserves to get the medical care they need to live and thrive. You may not be able make huge changes to remove obstacles that prevent people from getting the care they need on your own. However, you can bring change by working with others, and you can actively take steps to help those who can't afford the care they need. One way you can do this is to support my good friend Fadel.

Fadel Aldani @fadel-dani lives with his family in Ghazzah. He and his family were in their home when it was bombed, which left them all injured. Fadel was the most seriously injured, with shrapnel being embedded deep in his body. The doctors were unable to remove all of it due to the lack of medical supplies in Ghazzah right now.

The shrapnel causes Fadel a lot of pain, and if it remains he is at risk of dying from it. He needs money to evacuate whenever possible, so he may recieve surgery to remove it. Fadel has also been diagnosed with hepatitis, but he has not been able to find or afford the prescribed treatment, due to overwhelmingly high prices and lack of medicine anywhere.

Fadel has been raising money for months now to afford the treatment he needs to survive. However, his original campaign was deleted by GFM without warning! He now has been forced to restart his campaign from scratch. So far, he has only raised €155. This is nowhere near enough to afford the vital treatment he needs.

Please, if you have any means to do so, help Fadel! Healthcare is a basic right. Fadel shouldn't have to live in agony just for being trapped in the midst of a genocide, and not being able to afford the egregious prices for treatment.

Please, share and donate! Even a small donation of €5 or €10 makes a difference to Fadel! If you absolutely cannot donate, send Fadel's campaign to some friends, and tell others about his story. Even just reaching out to Fadel to talk and offer a kind word makes a difference to him.
