young priest of the harvest goddess' temple stumbling as he runs into the woods, under a time constraint and needing to find the right fruit before any of the other priests do, wanting to win the goddess' favour and the reward of winning the race
strange magical plants sprawling around him on all sides, tangling on the path, stretching up toward the skies and creating a multicoloured and in places crystalline canopy
finally finding what he's sure is the right tree and jumping to get the only fruit hanging from it
as soon as his hand closes around the plum-like orb, surrounded by pink blossoms, those blossoms twist around his wrist and haul him further off the ground, and he shouts in surprise as more blossoms come to touch and kiss against his skin
hot tingling pollen scattering on his skin, the warmth of it sinking into his flesh, toward his bones, into his very heart, and between his legs, too, his cock hard and dripping, his thighs spreading wide as the blossoms come to kiss at that too
groaning in overwhelmed pleasure as his orgasm ripples through him, struggling helplessly in the all-too-pleasurable embrace on his every side, vines tugging his ankles apart so that the next blossoms can delve into his arse and make him keen
"wrong tree, babe," says another priest from across the clearing, plucking one of the plums on the nearly identical tree across from him, this one with blossoms that are the same colour but a different shape, and without the suckling stamens. "better luck next time!"

For @steddieangstyaugust day 9 prompt, Upside Down; @steddiemicrofic august prompt, plug, 437 words, and also inspired by @astrangersummer week 15 prompt Royalty AU (it didn’t end up as quite that, but the prompt def. inspired this…)
Word: 437 Rating: M CW: dubious consent Tags: post season 4, Eddie lives… sort of, angst, sex, breath play, tentacles (nothing too explicit in this word count, sorry?!?), monster eddie.
Summary: Steve sacrifices himself to protect the kids from the new ruler of the Upside Down…
...
Screeching demobats wrenched Steve awake. The King of the Upside Down jumped his bones, and grinded him into the ashy ground. “Ready to have your world rocked?”
“Always,” mumbled Steve. “Tho’ isn’t it your world, Munson?”
“Sure is, Babe.” Eddie lightly bit Steve’s earlobe. Steve hissed, squirmed. “And you’re the heart of it.”
One month earlier
It didn’t feel like victory. They’d lost Eddie, possibly Max. But they’d vanquished Vecna. Why, despite Eleven’s efforts, was the Upside Down still leaking evil?
They journeyed back. Somehow, Eddie had risen as the new overlord—bat-shit crazy, more powerful than Vecna, and commanding demo-beasties with a flap of a bejewelled hand.
To Steve, he was the scariest monster yet. And HOT, DAMN.
They fled under scarlet skies—awash with wailing guitars and endlessly unspooling cassette-tapes—and through Eddie’s shattered trailer. Naturally, Steve climbed toward safety last. Eddie’s talons—he’d gotten claws to match the batwings—yanked him back.
“How about it?” Eddie lifted Steve clean off the floor in a chokehold. “Be my vanilla cupcake, Harrington, and I won’t munch their throats out.”
“S-seriously?”
“Stay,” commanded Eddie. “Stay… willingly. I saw you stripping my scales from me with your eyes. You wanted this bat-lord naked.”
True.
Plus, I glanced into YOUR scary-ass eyes and saw a shadow of the Eddie Munson who stripped my soul bare.
Steve was kicking wildly, blacking out. Eddie finally released him.
“J-jesus,” spluttered Steve. “The shit I do for those k-kids.”
The gate magically plugged up, silencing Dustin’s cries.
When Eddie made love, Steve got fucked by the whole Upside Down.
While Eddie used Steve’s mouth, a fat tendril plugged his ass. Those moistly undulating vines also squeezed around his neck, while roughly frisking his dick. Goddamn… Gnnng!
“Go!” commanded Eddie, and Steve was abruptly freed of the vines. Eddie lifted Steve in his claws and took flight, ramming himself home, screeching adoringly. Steve’s orgasm blew his mind, before Eddie’s lips, still butter-soft, kissed each broken part of him better.
Okay, life could be worse.
After dozing, Steve stirred in Eddie’s lap. Eddie’s eyes were suspicious slits. “You okay, Princess?”
“Peachy.” Steve blinked. Shit. Did he call out for his friends in his sleep again?
“You… uh, want me to unplug the gates, Stevie?”
God, I miss them all so much.
Steve lifted his lolling head, seeking out that hint of soul in Eddie’s otherwise cold dead eyes. Still there. Not enough to let this monster back into the world. “I miss pizza.” He kept his voice light, un-wibbly. “Otherwise… Only need you, my King.”
Eddie grinned, pink lightning cracked, and his possessive kiss totally fried Steve’s brains.
...

Sept Affini: Story snippet
may not end up canon in the fic just having fun with the crossover setting.
Recording from an unknown T’au’s journal:
The T’au call her Aun’O Compact Cypress. Were you to gain a rare audience with her she’d introduce herself as Amaryllis Cypress, 5th bloom. The records say she isn’t from our galaxy. The following is a record of a poor water caste envoy sent to open negotiation:
“U-um of course for the Greater Good and all that but.. her! She was beautiful and tall at almost 4 meters. She made me feel… safe? U-um and her eyes were beautiful, like the skies of Vespid…” *the water caste seems to zone out till someone off camera taps the envoy on the shoulder* “-Sorry got lost in thought. She had T’au with her, a fire and earth caste. Both have forsaken the Greater Good and have fallen to a life of selfish hedonism! They bark like war hounds and feed from her hand …or vines I should say.
I would almost have mistaken them for followers of that cult that tried to take Ke’lshan. The ones who worshipped that obscure local god Slaanesh. The Affini must have emitted some kind of pheromone or other intoxicant, because it had an effect on me. She was breathtaking. I almost wouldn’t mind going to see her again were I permitted to-” *at that point the camera cuts*
There was a growing concern at first. Until the ethereals announced that this “Affini” was a being intent on delivering the Greater Good across the galaxy. From there all of us were on board. I’m surprised how fast it turned public opinion. Maybe Farsight was right with his little war band. Maybe the ethereals did control us. Emphasis on *did*. Aun’O Compact Cypress ran things now.
It’s like the Greater Good was rewritten overnight. Our goals remained the same but now wiggle room was introduced for leisure and hedonistic personal time. It slowed our progress. Cypress worked with some Earth Castes and we jumped a whole tech level! Despite the lowered combat efficiency, with the new tech we’ve incorporated three new species into the empire at the time of writing.
I hope her inclusion and promotion to our leader was a right one. She scares me. She picked up planet-scale tactics in record time but her emphasis on nonlethal violence means we’ve given up large portions of territory to hostile forces.
Though maybe that’s changing. Lately she’s been more willing to take risks. She authorized a successful attack to regain a planet that cost more lives she previously would have allowed. Lethal force too. She seems as strong as ever, even as I am reaching the end of my lifetime. Though maybe time is getting to her in other ways. She threatened to kill an advisor over seemingly nothing. She’s seems off, and is getting paranoid. I hope the next generation can figure out this T’au mistress, and maybe stop her should she venture too far from the Greater Good.
I think with time she’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Maybe even take on those Gue'la with their horribly inept war machines and “magic” god king. May future generations see the galaxy at peace in our species lifetime.
Tau'va. (Greater Good)

Dreams of the Kingdom - Chapter 25: The Fifth Sage
Previous < First > Next
AO3 Wattpad or below!
Unlike the other Thunderhead Isles, Dragonhead Island was the eye of the storm – quite literally given the architecture. The island was almost serene above southern Hyrule. “After all of this, I think you and I should just enjoy these islands. It’d be a relaxing date… provided we don’t need to fly on that again.”
“Aww come on,” Link replied. His latest flying creation lay in a heap at the edge of the island; you had barely made it before the wing disintegrated beneath your feet. “It’s not that bad, and we can always use the Purah Pad now. Think about it, we could bring some food, have a picnic, maybe fly around the skies, or we could go to one of those with the pools and have our own private swimming hole.”
“I’d like that.” You looked out on the horizon. You still wore the Charged set, enjoying the warm wind wrapping around you and rustling the thin robes. “It’s crazy how big and yet how small Hyrule looks from up here.” Just then, you had an idea and scribbled something down in a pocketbook. You snapped it shut, shoving it into your pack.
You slid down the vines into the sublevel of the island, following Link as he slashed through some old roots to a massive stone door, the draconic herald of the Zonai carved on the face. The symbolic eye was etched with two hands, making the purpose clear. “Ah, one of these,” Link muttered, getting ready to plant his feet.
Before he could, you reached up, placing your own hand on the left side. “But wait, it tests your strength and saps your health!” Link said.
You raised an eyebrow. “You say that like I’d let you do that to yourself. Nothing says it has to be one person.”
Link relented, placing Rauru’s hand on the other side. Together, you pushed, and the runes slowly lit up. You could feel your energy drain slightly, but instead of exhausting you, it almost invigorated you, like a runner’s high. The dragon’s eyes lit up, and the door trembled. With a rumble it swung open. You couldn’t wait to see what was on the other side. It could be the temple, Mineru’s laboratory, maybe the secret stone! It could be-
An owl mask.
“Not exactly what I expected,” you said, walking up to inspect the Zonaite mask with Link. He tapped the activation sigil. At first, only a small pinprick of light appeared on the mask, but then the floor parted underneath you, revealing another level to the island and a hidden launch bay for Zonai wings. The mask rotated on its pedestal, shooting a beam of light towards the Dueling Peaks. “Looks like Tobio’s Hollow, but there’s nothing there? Just a bunch of old statues.”
On the contrary…
Both you and Link jumped at the disembodied voice.
Link and Prince [Y/n]… Take this. Follow the light.
You lifted the mask – surprised at how light it was. “Please build something a little more stable.”
“No promises,” Link said, leading the way down the ramp.
“Link. My knight, my love of my life. I swear you’re going to be the death of me.”
“I mean, technically speaking…”
“Not helping your case.”
==============================
The flight was, thankfully, much better. No sooner had you landed did the massive owl-like statue shook, lifting to reveal yet another ramp, this time leading to an underground platform. You placed the mask into the pedestal on this platform and it began its slow descent down into the Depths. “If only all chasms were like this,” you muttered. You and Link both quickly changed out of your armor into protection more suited to the Depths. For you, that was the Depths set, which made you look like a rather grim figure but protected you from gloom. For Link, it was the Miner’s set, illuminating the dark and giving you quite a nice view of your boyfriend’s chest and arms.
Link and Prince [Y/n]… chosen protectors of Hyrule… You must hurry, there isn’t much time.
The voice came through a bit clearer this time. “Glad we changed behind the eyes,” Link joked.
My name is Mineru. I am the Sage of Spirit. I am happy to finally meet you both. Unfortunately, I no longer have a body. Without a physical form, we cannot yet speak face to face. But, there is a way. We are traveling to the Construct Factory. Surrounding the facility are four storehouses. I would ask you to visit each of them and assemble a body for me. This is my request to you.
The platform sunk lower and lower into the Depths, finally coming to a rest at a massive Zonai facility, the largest you had seen yet. As Link activated the nearby Lightroot, you carried Mineru’s mask to the center of the facility.
It’s funny, you look different and yet I can still see Sheik in you.
“He’s the one who sent us to find you.”
Of course. The sooner that you can build me a body, the sooner I can help you stop Ganondorf. Time is not on our side.
“You can say that again.”
Link returned, using his Ultrahand to lift Mineru’s mask into the mold for the massive construct body. As he did, the lotus-like shell closed around her. “You get the feeling…”
“We’re being watched?” You finished. Both of you drew your weapons, matching Silver Lynel Greatswords Link fused for the two of you. “Okay, we know you’re here, come out!”
“Kyeh-heh-heh! I should have known someone as tricky as you could find me.” In a burst of smoke emerged the one and only Master Kohga. “Well, well, well, if it isn’t my nemesis! The Prince of the Wild!”
“Kohga… I thought you were in the southwest?”
He stamped his foot, pointing at you. “I was, but you didn’t follow me! You’re really rude, you know, a nemesis is supposed to chase after the other. I got bored and came here, and good thing too! I found this factory and here I will upgrade our ultimate weapon for our Lord Ganondorf!”
“I was… a bit busy?” You weren’t sure what to say in response to that. “Ganondorf, uh, has a lot going on.”
“Well of course, he’s our great Demon King! The unbeatable Ganon! But you’re MY nemesis!”
“I beg to differ, but whatever peels your banana.”
“Gross,” Link muttered.
Kohga trembled with rage. “How dare you… I will have my revenge – starting with this factory! Yiga clan! Procure those parts so that I might improve our ultimate weapon to surpass the petty Prince!”
A whole platoon of Yiga appeared behind him. “Yes, Master Kohga!”
Your grip tightened on your weapon. “Link!”
“Way ahead of you, you get the east side, I’ll handle the west!”
The two of you ran in opposite directions as you charged for the first storehouse. A Yiga Footsoldier appeared by your side, barely having time to draw his bow before you slashed him. You dove with your paraglider into the storehouse, but a Yiga Blademaster was already ahead of you. Using his Earthwake technique, the room shook, dropping a glowing case with what appeared to be a construct leg inside. “A pleasure defeating you, Prince.” He rumbled, lashing the container up with ropes. Two more Blademasters appeared to carry the case away.
You clashed against his sword, driving him back against the wall, but you knew time was tight with the two Blademasters there. With a quick parry, followed by a flurry rush, you knocked him back in time to fling a bomb in his direction, just as the others were carrying the case out the door.
“Get back here!” You shouted. You thrust your left hand forward, feeling the Band of Hylia grow warmer. Suddenly a metal claw appeared embedding itself in the part’s case. With barely any effort, the chain grew taut and pulled you up to them. “What the…a hookshot?!” you looked at your hand, seeing a glowing blue device in your hand for a moment before disappearing. “Okay, it’s not the Triforcem, but this I can definitely work with,” you grinned.
“No fancy toys will save you from us,” the Blademasters growled. One slammed his fist into the ground for another Earthwake, sending a ripple of energy through the ground. As the wind tore from the earth, you rode the updraft with your paraglider.
“Funny, I was gonna say the same thing to you.” You focused, thinking of your travels. “Fire Rod!” The magic red staff appeared in your hand – much larger than the one you saw with the Four Links, and thrumming with much more magic power. You swung the staff, summoning a wave of fire that formed into a wyvern, racing across the room after the Blademasters.
“What the- what is this!” One shouted, fleeing the fire.
“Fall back!”
The fire licked the sides of the room but fell to a simmer as the Blademasters retreated. “Oh, I can get used to this,” you snickered. “Titan Mitt!”
The Fire Rod disappeared, replaced by a glowing set of gauntlets over your hands, letting you easily heft the case with one arm. You quickly ran back to the factory. The container dissolved as you got closer, and the lotus shell opened around Mineru to let you slide the leg inside.
Suddenly, you heard screams and an evil cackle. You instantly drew your sword again, but you weren’t expecting who the evil cackle came from. Over the hill came a horde of Yiga, fleeing in fear as a vehicle with a spiked front and Zonai cannons came rolling after them. Your boyfriend stood atop the death machine. “RUN! RUN COWARDS! THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR ATTACKING US!”
Most of the Yiga gave up and beat a hasty retreat, while others peeled off to run to the remaining storehouses. Link brought the vehicle to a stop in front of you. “Hey cutie, like my ride?”
“I thought we agreed no war machines?”
“You said no war machines. I promised nothing, especially if it means keeping you safe.” Link looked way too pleased with himself as he unloaded a case with a construct arm.
“I… later,” you muttered. “We’re talking about this later!”
“You can run, but I know you think it’s cool!”
You shook your head, running towards the next storehouse where a group of Yiga Footsoldiers were struggling to move another case. “Okay, let’s see how you guys like a taste of my crossbow!” You shouted, thrusting your band forward.
Nothing.
“Crossbow?” Only a puff of smoke shot out of your hand. “Oh, you’re kidding me.”
“Now’s our chance!” One of the Footsoldiers yelled. “Get him!”
Five of them tried to dogpile you, but they weren’t fast enough for your sword. You easily knocked them back, catching their sickles and disarming them. “Oh, come on, you guys used to be a challenge!”
“HYAH!” One shouted, leaping towards you. You easily deflected his kick, sending him flying into his cohort. You picked up a dropped sickle, flinging it towards the others before charging at the last one with your own sword. In mere seconds, the fight was over, and they retreated under cover of their smoke bombs.
One, however, remained, guarding the case. “S-s-stay back!” The Footsoldier trembled, his hand stuffed in his bag. “I’m armed!”
“Then draw your weapon,” you muttered. His voice seemed a bit familiar. “Oh, hey! You’re the guy I knocked off the cliff over in the Akkala Depths, right?”
“KYAAAH! HE REMEMBERS!” The Footsoldier shrieked. Suddenly, you felt something small bounce off your chest as he disappeared in a puff of smoke. “FORGIVE ME MASTER KOHGA!”
“Guess reputation is a good thing.” You picked up the odd toy he threw at you. It was a marionette, carved to look like… well you weren’t sure, other than it looked like a middle-aged guy in green tights. You tossed it aside, turning towards the case. “Now how to move you…” You looked around at the discarded Zonai devices, mostly rockets. You then looked back at the marionette and snapped off the strings. “This might be my dumbest idea yet.”
You tied the rockets down and held onto the case for dear life, kicking the device. They burst to life and before you could take a breath, the case – and you – shot out of the storeroom and across the rocky depths, bouncing and bounding to a stop right at the edge of the factory. “Ow…”
Link knelt next to you. “You know, you didn’t have to try and show off.”
“I wasn’t!”
Link just laughed, picking up the case for you with Ultrahand and carrying it over to Mineru. With the final piece gathered and placed into the machine, it buzzed to life – ribbons of energy connecting the pieces. With a grinding noise, the machine rumbled and extracted itself.
“Finally,” Mineru muttered. “Thank you, only task rema-”
“Damn it, damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!” Kohga roared, reappearing behind you. “Useless soldiers can’t put up a decent fight. FINE! You managed to steal the last parts for your construct, but I’ve already got enough for my own. Sure, it might not be as great or whatever, but Yiga ingenuity always defeats dorks like you! I’m gonna steal that shiny rock I saw. I’m gonna power up mine, and then Lord Ganondorf will be forever grateful!” With a series of secret ninja hand forms, another flying machine appeared. Kohga leaped aboard with a cackle. “Chase me if you dare! Mweh-he-he-he-he!”
“Quickly!” Mineru shouted, kneeling so you and Link could climb on. “We’ve got to stop him before he gets to my secret stone!”
==============================
To call the Spirit Temple a true “temple” was generous; Mineru’s laboratory was large but very straightforward, more or less consisting of two rooms. “Ugh, remind me later to create an improved form that’s more suited to agility,” Mineru muttered as she stomped up the stairs to the platform.
“Big battle construct has its advantages though,” Link countered. The platform rumbled down to the lower floor, which was coated in gloom. Mineru’s secret stone was safe for now. You rode Mineru across the gloom, when suddenly the floor parted, and another construct emerged, with Kohga riding its back. This construct was corrupted, filled with gloom, and looked as if it was barely holding itself together.
“Heh, this is where I stop you once and for all, and there’s nothing you can do about it!”
Your eyes darted over the battlefield. On all ends you were hemmed in by barbed wire, and nowhere on the floor was safe. “Link, I’ve got an idea. Help guide Mineru and fuse more weapons to her. I’ll take care of Kohga.”
Link nodded. “Be careful.”
You perched on Mineru’s shoulder, drawing your Royal Bow as Link fused Flame Emitters to Mineru’s arms, giving you some extra damage against the corrupted construct. Flames passed through Kohga’s shield, giving you the perfect opportunity to shoot the moment he dropped them.
The ninja master flew off, crashing into the gloom. Wasting no time, you leaped off and ran across the toxic floor. “Remember this?” You taunted.
“No, wait please!” You granted him no mercy, slashing at his backside with a spin attack.
Kohga broke free soon enough, and leaped back to his construct, putting up another shield and summoning his infamous steel balls. You ran back to Mineru for cover, and for the gloom to pass off your armor. Link, meanwhile, covered with his own shock arrows, sending bolts of electricity between the steel balls, zapping Kohga with every pass.
“You’re both infuriating!” He shrieked, charging with the construct. As it grew close, you shoved your sword into its rickety body, locking its arm to its torso. “Not fair!”
You swung your leg up, kicking Kohga in the face and knocking him off his mount. You drew your sword out, just in time for Mineru to slam her fists down, shattering the failed machine. You turned to Kohga, sword drawn. Link peered down at him with his bow aimed directly at his head.
“You think you’re so clever… don’t you,” Kohga growled. The three of you closed in as the gloom dissipated from the floor. Kohga leaned back, crossing his arms and laughed haughtily. “Bold of you to assume that you have me cornered. That may have been my weapon for Lord Ganondorf you destroyed, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have other tricks up my sleeve.” He pointed at you. “That’s right [Y/n], my nemesis! It’s time to bust out my serious moves! A brand-new technique I came up with in the deepest darkness of the darkest Depths! It will… destroy you!”
He clasped his hands together, the arcane Yiga runes floating behind his back as the final weapon appeared. “BEHOLD! The secret ultimate ultra-special weapon of the Yiga Clan! Tremble in fear before my unstoppable Kohga Rocket!” The weapon wasn’t so much a “weapon” but rather a long stick with a spiked ball at one end and about twenty Zonai rockets hastily tied on the other. “That’s right, tremble in fear, you Prince of the… er, Stupid! My genius even scares me!” He leaped forward, and with a creak, the rocket tilted downward… a little too much. “Fly Kohga Rocket! Fly and-”
Suddenly, the rocket ignited, slamming into Kohga and flying him around the room. “Th-this wasn’t supposed to happeeeeeeen!!” His body ragdolled at the front as it zipped up the platform shaft and out of the temple. “I’ll be back! I’ll have my reveeeeeenge!”
For a moment, the three of you stood in stunned silence. Mineru was the first to break it. “I did not expect such strange characters in your time.”
“He’s one in a million, I assure you,” you said.
Mineru turned and approached her secret stone, which fused to the new body. As she did, her spirit emerged, addressing you with grace. “Thank you both, I didn’t anticipate such opposition when I placed myself in stasis.”
Link crossed his arms. “No one did. Ganondorf changed everything. We’re lucky [Y/n] was around to see the problems and to go through time to fix things.”
“I did have a lot of help though,” you said.
Mineru swapped out her arm attachments for fresh ones, while a Servant Construct appeared and checked her new body over for any lasting damage. “In that case, it’s best we don’t hesitate. Ganondorf likely knows I’ve awakened, which means he’ll be on the move.”
“So where are we headed?” Link asked.
“The Temple of Time.” Both turned to you, Link in surprise, Mineru more in interest. “Sheik said that’s where the entrance to the hidden path is; only thing is that we needed Mineru to open the way.”
“That you did,” Mineru said, merging once more with her construct body. You could hear the smile in her voice. “To the Temple of Time then. I assume you have a way through your Purah Pad’s travel network?”
“Way ahead of you,” Link said, pressing the location, and teleporting the three of you across Hyrule.
==============================
Despite the Sheikah Shrines being dismantled – a bit too excitedly by Purah and Robbie – several of the travel waypoints were repurposed, one being set at the Temple of Time. The three of you materialized at dusk, much to the surprise of a few Bokoblins and Aerocudas. None of them stood a chance against the three of you. “Might take a moment to find it,” Mineru said. “The temple wasn’t built in my time, and nothing quite looks the same.”
“Why pick a place that wasn’t even built yet?” You asked.
“Zelda was adamant about making sure it was set here for you. She said it’d be protected, and it would be somewhere you’d know.”
“Fair point,” you said. You looked up at the crumbling roof of the Temple of Time. To think, at one point, you could’ve been married in this beautiful cathedral to Link. Closing your eyes, you could just imagine it – you and Link walking down the aisle, Sharpe playing the organ, the Champions and Zelda in the front row…
You stopped yourself there, looking at Link instead as he watched the tree line for any other approaching monsters. “No,” you said to yourself. “There’s a new future here for us. Once Ganondorf is gone, once Hyrule is safe…” You couldn’t help but imagine Link’s face when you proposed… you could only hope that the custom ring from the shop in Gerudo Town would be finished soon.
“Found it!”
You and Link ran to Mineru, who stood in a small courtyard between the twin staircases that led to the temple proper. Mineru pressed against the column and the cracked windows swung open. “This is it!”
You stared at the window that seemingly led to nothing. Link answered for you. “Um… Mineru, are you sure?”
“I know it doesn’t look like much, but trust me, this is the way in. I just didn’t expect so many changes to it.” She pushed one of her arms inside the opening, which vanished before your eyes. “Believe me now?” She pushed her body the rest of the way in, disappearing into thin air.
Link shot you a confused look but followed Mineru into the strange void. You took a deep breath and followed. Your stomach flipped as you crossed the veil, feeling the window shut behind you.
As you pushed through the strange doorway, you were suddenly surrounded by natural light. On the other side was the Temple of Time, just far grander than the one you remembered. Light streamed through the stained-glass windows onto the polished marble floors. Each of the windows depicted different parts of Hyrule’s history. For a moment, you lingered before one, very clearly depicting your Link holding the Master Sword aloft and surrounded by the four Champions.
“Prince [Y/n], this way,” Mineru urged.
You followed, finding yourself before a massive fresco depicting Din, Nayru, and Farore creating the Triforce, which shone high above the land. “It’s changed a bit since I was last here,” Mineru said. “Before it was a simple room, but it seems it has grown, just as Hyrule has. I imagine the Sages of Hyrule’s history continued to grow and change the temple to suit different needs. Perhaps it was some sort of safehouse in another era.”
“Even I know the stories of the true Temple of Time,” Link murmured. “Makes sense if you’re hiding something here – who’d ever find it outside time?”
“Hide it where time is all happening at once,” you finished. You wanted to stay longer just to explore, but you knew you needed to hurry. Part of you half-expected to see Time here, but only the three of you seemed to be around.
Mineru stood before the fresco, pushing against parts of the wall. Little by little, different bricks seemed to sink back by a hair. Like a puzzle box, each part slid into place, until Mineru revealed a simple doorway below the Triforce. “This is it – the way to the Shadow Temple.” She pushed the door open, revealing a dark portal.
“Fitting, but not exactly welcoming,” you muttered. “Okay, so what do we do?”
“This is where we part, temporarily.”
You turned to her; eyes narrowed. “What do you mean by that?”
Mineru slumped slightly. “I’m sorry, I can’t follow you. One of the trade-offs of preserving my body like this… the path to the Shadow Temple was designed to only allow certain people entry. My construct body would be destroyed if I tried to cross the threshold. It’s likely your sage aspects will not work either. Once you unlock the temple, I’ll be able to join you.”
“Okay then,” Link said, unfazed, “what do we need to know about this place?”
“I worked with Sonia and Zelda to create it – or rather they did most of the work. Zelda was determined to make it as difficult as possible, so that she could be sure only the two of you would survive. Whatever you do, stick to the shadows and do not go into the water. If you run into trouble, I placed several Zonai devices inside to help you.”
You took a deep breath, wondering just what your sister created. “Alright then.”
“One more thing. Zelda made a rhyme to guide you. Follow the Tears to the Horned King. Strike him down to reveal a wond’rous thing. Let the guards slumber night and day. Return home to find the temple way.”
A pit was quickly growing in your stomach, realizing just what you were about to enter. “Zelda…how?”
“We’ll be okay,” Link said, taking your hand. “Ready?”
“One sec,” you said. You pulled your pocketbook back out and ripped out a page. “Mineru, while you’re waiting for us, could you please take this to Outskirt Stable northwest of here? Just follow the road out of the Great Plateau. This message is critical.”
Mineru took the scrap of paper. “I can, but people might not react well to my new form.”
“I promise, it’s worth it. Just give it to the stable hand and tell him the Prince sent you.” You turned back to Link, taking his hand. “Ready, my love.”
==============================
Crossing the threshold felt like plunging into a cold lake. The air was still, smelling faintly of flowers. Hyrule was eerily quiet, there was no sound of life anywhere around you, not so much as a cricket chirp. You shivered, opening your eyes. Light seemed to be inverted. It wasn’t night, but it wasn’t day. It was as if Hyrule itself glowed ever so slightly. You stood at the entrance to the Temple of Time – restored to its former glory – but the exit behind you had disappeared. “Nowhere to go but forward,” you muttered.
You and Link walked quietly down the steps of the Temple of Time, your footsteps feeling as loud as cannon shots in the unsettling world. As you looked out across the Great Plateau, you could see all of Hyrule, frozen. Specifically, it was Hyrule as it once was, before the Calamity. It was the Hyrule from your childhood.
Your bodies glowed in the surreal light. Link looked around nervously at this twisted version of your home. “Babe, where are we? It reminds me of the Trial of the Sword. It’s like it shouldn’t exist. Everything feels wrong.” He was right. It was a Hyrule you once knew, but too perfect. The trees were a little too green, their leaves almost copied from each other. The bricks you walked on weren’t individual stone, they looked more like a painting – flat and uniform.
You swallowed hard. Your skin tingled in the strange energy of this place. “The blood of Hylia flows through my family, but I never thought Zelda would be capable of something like this…” You turned to Link, trying to mask your trepidation. “It’s like Sheik said, The answer is nothing but silence. Link, we’re in the Silent Realm, Zelda’s Silent Realm.”
==============================
A/N: I can’t believe we’re already in Chapter 25. Back when I started outlining this story, I thought it’d take forever to reach Mineru, yet here we are.
That means it’s time for something a bit different. After this story wraps up, I’ll be taking a bit of a break – this is the longest story I’ve ever written, after all! But I do plan on continuing to write. The problem is that I’m having some trouble deciding on the next story, beyond that we will be taking a bit of a break from Hyrule in the next one. I have three choices I’d like your input on. I’ll be doing a poll on my Tumblr for the next story. Your choices are:
Monochrome Redux (Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir from Miraculous! and (eventual) Miraculous Holder Reader) – A handsome hero catches your eye and you catch his, but does duty come before love? And doesn’t his heart belong to Ladybug? In a Paris turned upside down, anything can happen. (This would be rewriting and finishing the unfinished “Monochrome” from 2019).
Falling Stars (Leon/Dande from the Pokemon series and Pokemon Breeder Reader) – Can Leon see he lives in a castle of sand? Can old friendships be repaired and an unrequited crush from childhood grow into something new, or is the Unbeatable Champion lost in the glitz and glory?
Super Royal Assistant! (Bowser from the Super Mario series and Executive Assistant Reader) – Working for Princess Peach as her official assistant seems like a dream job, until you realize how much you have to deal with a certain Koopa King. Why does he keep kidnapping you with your boss anyway?
I have more information on each option, including a quick summary here. Please leave a comment or shoot me a message with your preferred option. The poll will be open until November 29, and the results will be announced in the final chapter of this story. I appreciate your help!
Next time: We conquer the Silent Realm and find the Shadow Temple.

Keep Me Ablaze
Jake Sully x Neytiri x Fem!Reader
—-
a/n: apologies this chapter is kinda short, but i hope you all enjoy!!
warnings: mentions of blood, mention of injury, mentions of death, near death experience (kinda), swearing, tell me if i missed anything!!
Chapter Eleven- You and Yours
—-
The climb is rough, never-ending miles upon miles of upward climbing, praying you won’t slip before each rock you manage to grab, each foot hole you sink into.
Jumping through the air and onto the vine felt nothing like flying, nothing like being free. Your stomach turned and flipped, and the swish of Seze’s wings soaring through the air, Neytiri’s laughs and amusement did nothing to help it.
But still, you feel safer with her in the skies, safer with Jake on the vine next to you, smiling at you every so often.
Tsu’tey then makes you run across braided plants and vines that don’t feel like plants. They are so strong and thick it is like a continent is below you.
You barely manage to bite back a snarky comment about how unsafe it is running across, hundreds of feet above the ground.
Jake smiles at you and rolls his eyes, like he knew what you were going to say anyway.
Your footsteps echo in the cavern, sharp like bone, but soon light trickles through, and a small stream of water runs right next to you.
When you make it through, it is exactly like Neytiri described it all those years ago. A floating circle of mountains, waterfalls and ikrans everywhere. Flying and free, cutting through the sky, paying no mind to the resistance of the wind.
Neytiri and Seze cut through it all, coming right towards the opening where you all gawk in awe. Seze barely grabs onto the opening before Neytiri jumps off, staring at you and Jake as Seze’s head bumps into her side.
You watch Jake nod at her, smirking, almost as if to say: “I did it. You thought I couldn’t and I did it.”
She smiles and looks down, like she always knew he could do it.
You feel something rolling around in your stomach, something horrid and painful that makes your chest ache and your mind reel.
She exchanges greetings with Tsu’tey while the excitement catches up to you, everything else fading to the background as you focus on taking deep, calming breathes.
Tsu’tey grins wildly, looking over Jake and sneering, “Jakesully will go first.”
Jake shakes his head and smiles, hands his bow to Tsu’tey, who grabs it sharply.
You watch as Neytiri walks past you to Jake, her eyes deadly arrows, trying to sink into Tsu’tey.
Neytiri urges Jake around a slight bend, behind a waterfall. She motions for you, and you follow her without hesitation.
The waterfall is louder behind it, pressed up against the cool rock wall, you can feel the spray of it on your blue skin.
Neytiri places her hand on Jake’s shoulder, almost like to provide some comfort, leaning over him.
“Now you must choose your ikran. This you must feel inside,” she guides, placing her hand over his chest before pulling back. “If he also chooses you, you must live quick like I showed. You will have one chance, Jake.”
“How will I know if he chooses me?”
“He will try to kill you.”
You have always admired Neytiri’s bluntness, her lack of hesitation. She sees the situation for all that it is and simply acts. She acts on a blend of her heart and her brain, doing what she must do and what she wants too.
“Outstanding,” Jake hisses, as the other warriors press close behind you.
He steps out from where he was hidden, forward and away, into the unknown, into the future. He does not know what path has already been woven for him, he does not know what will happen this day.
He simply swings his rope in a circle, walks into the future.
Neytiri urges you to follow, slow, eyes always peeled. Her grip around your arm is like a vice, but the ikrans all fly away. They leave you with a rocky outcrop to hide behind, watch Jake closely as he battles.
You sigh, mess with your fingers and bite your lip, looking down, until Neytiri suddenly tenses and you look up.
Jake is at a standstill. He faces an ikran, exchanging hisses and battle cries. Declarations of war, and Neytiri grins next to you.
“Let’s dance,” he mutters, swinging the rope faster.
He throws it around the ikran’s jaw, and Neytiri’s nails dig into your arm, before swinging himself over in the second the ikran is surprised. You take in account of each move he makes, each exact angle and measure. What risks he takes, what he leaves alone.
You let your eyes stray away while he and the ikran essentially wrestle, neither gaining an upper hand.
“Make the bond!” Neytiri shouts.
Then, you see it. Possibly the most beautiful thing you have ever seen, blue and purple with specks of white, like a night sky, with a large white spot at the center of her chest that looks like the moon from Earth, that Grace always spoke so fondly about.
What you mother had loved, before she died.
You gasp, almost feeling like you could reach forward and have a piece of your mother with you, a piece of her home planet. A piece of what she loved.
But, the ikran feels your stare, it’s eyes cutting away from the commotion Jake causes, taking a sure step forward and roaring so loudly you think the ground shakes.
But, it’s drowned out by Jake falling over the edge, causing you to turn away and look back.
“Jake!” Neytiri screeches, and you call his name, but it sounds more like a sob.
Then, he is simply climbing back up again after barely a moment, throwing himself back onto the ikran.
Neytiri smiles and shakes her head, letting her hand fall from your arm, creeping away from you.
Another roar. Heavy footsteps. Not Jake’s.
Yours, something inside you says. That is your ikran.
You’re grabbing the rope before you can even think, plants sewn together with a rock at the end.
Maybe if anyone noticed you walking forward, they would have stopped you. Maybe pushed you forward. But it’s was supposed to be Jake’s turn, and you cannot blame them for watching the show they were informed of. The show they came to see.
The rocks are unsteady under your feet, but you keep eye contact, keep your teeth bared like the ikran does.
You don’t know who will make the first move. Maybe you should. Maybe you should simply do what Jake did.
But you want to be your own fire, be your own wildfire. You are not a candle. You will not be snuffed out.
You whip the rope around as the ikran dives forward, watching in horror as you miss, as the rock simply bounces off of the ikran’s face.
But you had been so confident in your decision, you were already midair by the time you threw it, and now you have no choice but to land again. The ikran doesn’t tolerate you. The ikran is yours, and you will make it.
You wrap your legs around her neck, try to keep yourself like a continent. Not an island, not a candle, but a wild fire, a continent. You are what is happening in this moment, just you and your ikran.
You are the wildfire burning, lighting up the night like the sun. You swallow the darkness, swallow the moon.
The ikran throws her head forward, forcing your arms to come out on instinct.
Instead, you only come away with blood dripping down your arm, a jagged cut from a sharp rock. The ikran must have hurt herself too, because she let’s out a pained sound, and without Jake’s battle filling the air- when did he make shahaylu?- all that is left to hear is you.
“Y/N!” Neytiri yells, runs forward, close enough to wear she can see the bite marks on your lip, the blood pouring down your arm.
She hisses. You cannot tell what she’s mad at. Who.
“Make the bond!” Tsu’tey shouts, and it’s a moment of clarity, and in the few seconds you and the ikran are dizzy and recovering, you grab your queue tight in your hand.
“It’s okay,” you murmur in Na’vi. “It’s okay, it’s okay,” but just as you reached for her queue- she throws herself back up, forcing you to fruit your teeth and hold on tight, out-wait the worst of her retaliation.
“Make the bond!” Neytiri yells, Tsu’tey’s hand around her bicep. “Make the bond!”
“Fuck!” you yell, legs wrapped as tight as they can, so hard you feel your choking your poor ikran. You wrap your arms around her neck, fumble blindly for the start of her queue, run your hand down.
You grip tight as she makes a particularly rough attempt to throw you off, jaw snapping wildly, another roar of pain.
“It’s okay!” you shout, hand loosening, trailing down more. She throws herself back onto the ground, but there is fire in your veins, and not even the strongest flap of her wings could blow you out. Besides, you’re pretty sure there is some fire in her too.
The two of you know each other, even like this.
And there is this one burning moment, bathed in fire and burning like a thousand suns, where it is is just you and your ikran. Just you and yours.
Is this what Neytiri feels like?
When she’s on top of the world and with you, with herself and what belongs to her.
You- you are a wildfire, your mother’s daughter, your father’s daughter. You are your Aunt’s niece, and you are a dreamwalker. You transcend worlds. Graven between the two, feel their resistance and swim through anyways.
You make the bond, and it is like a thousand starts burst behind your eyes, a fire is reborn in your stomach, and it is just you. All you were, all you are, all you will be. It is just you and yours.

Day 3: AU
For @elorcanweekofficial
Main Masterlist
Tangled!AU
Tumblr media
Elide always dreamed about the stars, looking outside her window at night, wishing to be out there with them, but ever since she can remember, on her birthday, another thing took place in the sky, she had mapped the stars, but those were different, lanterns flying to the sky.
She looked at them in wonder the first time she saw them, but they haven’t appeared again, not until a year later, on the same day. Since then, she dreamed of watching them up close, and discovering what they meant, tucked away in her heart, she had a feeling they were for her.
But whenever she asked Maeve, her mother, about them, she dismissed her, saying they were the regular stars that lingered in the skies every night, but she knew her mother, at least for once, was wrong.
Her mother was away, leaving her alone to her thoughts, reading the books she had available again, she sighed, she wanted to go out, even if the world was a scary place, filled with bad people who would cut her hair and kill her for her power. But tomorrow would be her birthday, so she was planning to ask her mother to let her go out, just this time, to see the lanterns.
“Elide!” Maeve’s voice sounded from the ground, which meant that Elide had to help her come in, throwing her hair out, Maeve started to climb, her hair was incredibly long, with more strength than it looked. Maeve always told she was blessed by the moonlight, her hair glowed like the darkest nights filled with stars, and when she sang, she was able to heal people.
“How are you, Mom?” She shyly asked.
“Mom is feeling so tired, darling. Maybe you want to sing to me?” Elide nodded, quickly placing everything she needed and then she started to sing, her hair glowing as she muttered the words in a frenzy, she needed to ask before she lost her bravado. “You’re going too fast, stop Elide.” But Maeve’s words fell on deaf ears as Elide kept singing.
“Done!” She happily exclaimed. “Now, can we talk?”
“Sure.” Her mother’s violet eyes were fixed on her.
“You know that tomorrow is my birthday, right?” Maeve raised an eyebrow.
“That cannot be possible, it was last year, I remember it very well.” She said, getting up and walking away.
“That’s the thing about birthdays, they happen every year.” She stated and her mother turned to her again. “I WANT TO SEE THE FLOATING LIGHTS.” She blurted and Maeve scoffed.
“You mean the stars?”
“That’s the point mom, I mapped the stars and these are different, they only appear on my birthday, every year, just on my birthday. And I kept thinking they’re for me, I need to see them, not from my window, but in person.” Maeve’s gaze made her immediately shut up.
“You already know how the world is, I WILL NOT let you go outside.”
“But Mom, I’ll be fine.” She guaranteed.
“Do not ask me that again.” She waved her hand, dismissing Elide. “I need to go out again.” Tears pricked in the corner of her eyes and she nodded, helping Maeve to go down again.

“Fenrys! Connall!” Lorcan Salvaterre greeted, his hands tightly clutching the bag with the royal crown, as the twins helped him up.
He started to run away from them, to the hell that he would share the money he would get if he sold the crown, he needed to hide, both from the twins and from the Royal guard that was chasing him, Chaol Westfall on his mare, Farasha, yelled for him to stop.
“Try to catch me.” He mocked, jumping over a broken tree that blocked the way. He kept on the run, but Chaol and Farasha managed to jump over it as well, he needed to be smarter than them. He climbed a tree, holding on to a strong vine, swinging in as Chaol passed, knocking him out of the mare.
“Let’s go.” He commanded but Farasha stopped on her tracks, her head turning to him and they both stared at each other, until the mare tried to snatch the bag with her mouth. “Stop it! What are you doing?” The mare started to kick and spin as she tried to get the bag, making the bag go flying to a tree branch.
Lorcan and Farasha ran for the bag, but the branch broke down and they ended up falling in different directions. Entering a cave covered by leaves, he managed to escape the mare but found a Tower, that should be a safe space to hide his bag.
He started to climb it until he reached the open window at the top. The tower was dark, but it didn't matter, he grabbed his bag, opening it, and smiled at the princess' crown inside. That was the last thing he saw before everything faded to black.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Elide's eyes were wide as she kept staring at the closed door of her wardrobe, the man that had entered by the window was locked in there.
"There's a person in my wardrobe." She spoke in disbelief, looking at Abraxos, the tiny chameleon that kept her company all the time. Twisting the frying pan in her hands, she whimpered when the iron hit the side of her head, rubbing the spot until the pain faded.
She reached for the bag he brought, finding a crown carved with diamonds, she held it, turning to her mirror as she put it in her arm like a bracelet, confused about what this object was. Abraxos shook his head and she removed it from her arm, holding it atop her head, slowly letting it sit on her beautiful dark hair. Staring at her reflection, something felt so right about it, Abraxos shook his head again in denial, so she removed it.
"Elide!" Her mother's voice made her begin to panic, grabbing the object and the bag and throwing them in a nearby flower pot. She ran to her window, letting her hair fall down until Maeve could climb it. "I have a huge surprise." She stated as she climbed through the window.
"Mine's bigger." Elide mumbled, walking closer to the wardrobe, hand resting on the chair that kept it locked.
"I'm doing mushroom soup for dinner, surprise." The violet eyes of her mother landed on her trembling figure. "What do you want?"
"You think I'm not strong enough to take care of myself." Elide started.
"I know you're not." Maeve interrupted her.
"But if you would just listen to me…"
"I assume it's not about the stars again."
"Why don't you listen?" Elide insisted and Maeve's towering frame stalked closer to her, making her feel so small.
"YOU WON'T LEAVE THIS TOWER. NEVER." Her mother screamed and her hand slowly fell to her side.
"I…. I was just going to say that I know what I want for my birthday." She whispered.
"And what is it, Elide?" Meave sighed.
"That white paint, made from the seashells you brought me once."
"But this is going to be a three-day journey." Maeve rubbed her temples.
"I just thought it was a better idea than the stars." She finished and Maeve hugged her.
"Are you going to be fine?" She asked and Elide nodded.
"Like always."
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Lorcan groaned, stirring awake, trying to move his arms to stretch his muscles, but he found himself unable to as he was tied to a chair, he looked down, frowning as he saw what was holding him in place.
"Is this hair?" He mumbled. Looming in the dark, a small figure caught his attention.
"Struggling is pointless." The woman said, climbing down from where she was watching him, slowly walking towards the light. "I know why you're here, and I'm not afraid of you." She stated and Lorcan raised an eyebrow confused.
"What?" The girl walked towards where he could see her, brown eyes met him, and the longest and darkest hair pooled around her, she timidly held a frying pan in her hands.
"Who are you?" She spoke a little bit firmer this time. "And how did you find me?"
Lorcan kept staring at her beautiful face, unable to muster a response for her, lost on the delicate curve of her nose and her plump pink lips. He cleared his throat.
"I don't know who you are nor how I came to find you, but may I just say…." He inclined his head, a smirk adorning his lips, maybe using his charm on her would make her let him go. "Hi, how are you doing? My name is Lorcan Salvaterre, how is your day going?" She looked at him utterly confused, brows knit together and ready to strike him with the pan.
"Who else knows my location, Lorcan Salvaterre?" She pointed the pan towards his face, forcing him to flinch a little.
"Alright, sweetie." He started.
"Elide." She interrupted.
"Here's the deal, I was in a situation, running around in the forest, I came across your tower and..." He paused, looking around in despair as he couldn't spot his bag anywhere. "Where's my bag?" He demanded.
"I've hidden it somewhere you'll never find it." She crossed her arms in front of her chest, a proud smile graced her delicate features and Lorcan scoffed, looking around and spotting a very suspicious flower pot.
"It's in that pot, isn't it?" He pointed and the whole world went to black again. He opened his eyes minutes later, to find a chameleon licking his ear until he woke up. Screaming and rubbing his ear on his shoulder he looked at her.
"Now it's hidden where you'll never find it!" She started to walk around him. "So, what do you want with my hair? To cut it? Sell it?" She pointed the pan at him and he shook his head.
"What? No! The only thing I want to do with your hair is to get out of it. Literally." He wiggled his body, restrained by her hair, he wanted to ask about it but he didn't think he was in a situation where he could ask questions.
"Wait.." she paused by his side for a moment. "You don't want my hair?"
"Why on earth would I want your hair?" He breathed annoyed. "Look, I was being chased, I saw a tower, I climbed up, and end of the story."
"You're telling the truth?" She watched him, her eyes clouded with doubt.
"Yes." Coming from in between her hair, the chameleon walked towards him, giving him a scary look, and Lorcan shivered, what the hell was wrong with the animals? She pulled him to the side, and Lorcan watched as she whispered to the animal in her hands.
He started to move, making the chair jump away from her, but she turned, clutching her hair and pulling it towards her, making all his efforts go to waste.
"Okay, I'm prepared to offer you a deal." She moved, pulling him with her. "Do you know what these are?"
"You mean the lantern thing they do for the princess?" He asked, looking at the drawing and noticing how her face lit up in excitement.
"Lanterns? I knew they weren't stars." She looked at him once again. "Well, tomorrow night they will light the night sky with these lanterns, you will act as my guide and take me to these lanterns and return me home safely. Then, and only then, I'll return your bag to you. Do you understand?"
"Yeah, not going to happen." He said and her smile faltered. "Unfortunately the kingdom and I aren't exactly simpatico at the moment, so I won't be taking you anywhere." Walking towards him again, she pulled his chair, until he was mere inches from her face.
"Something brought you here, Lorcan Salvaterre. Call it what you will, fate, destiny.."
"A mare." He sarcastically replied.
"So i decided to trust you."
"A horrible decision, really." She ignored him, her hot breath fanning over his face, this close, he could see the tiny freckles on her face and some golden points in her irises.
"But trust ME, when i tell you this. You can tear this tower apart, stone by stone, but without my help you will never find your beloved bag." He cleared his throat again.
"Let me get this straight, I take you to see the lanterns, bring you back home, and you give me my bag back?" She nodded.
"I promise." Lorcan raised his eyebrows in disbelief. "And I never break my promises. Ever."
"Alright, I'll take you to see the lanterns." She happily clapped as she started to untie him.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Elide couldn't quite believe what was happening, the soft breeze on her face and the feeling of grass between her toes, it was like a dream she didn't want to wake up from. But at the same time, she had a feeling in her gut, that she would get caught, that she was the worst daughter for disrespecting her mother's wishes, if Maeve ever found out, she would be so disappointed.
She couldn't control her emotions, so Lorcan watched as she jumped around in happiness and ended up sitting against a rock to cry.
"Maybe you should go back." He started, still looking at her sobbing figure. "That way you can keep your beautiful mother-daughter relationship." She looked at him.
"I'm afraid she will be disappointed," Elide confessed and Lorcan nodded.
"She will, it will probably break her heart." She looked at him confused.
"Break her heart?"
"Yes, but don't worry, I'll spare you from our deal and we can go back right now." Her eyebrows knit together once again, but in an angry expression, which made her look cute.
"I'm not coming back." She stated, getting up, the creepy chameleon on her shoulder.
"What? Why not?"
"I've been a good daughter my whole life, it's time to do something for me." Lorcan groaned.
"No way to get my bag back?" She shook her head in denial and he raised his hands in defeat. "You know what will make you feel better? Eat something, I know a nice place we can get a hot meal." Lorcan smirked as she started to follow him, maybe this would work then.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Farasha kept sniffling around, trying to spot Lorcan, but something caught her attention, someone was walking around in the forest, hiding behind a rock to get him, she waited, jumping from her spot when it approached her.
"A royal mare..." The woman's violet eyes spotted the animal, a dread feeling setting in her guts. "Without its captain." She started to panic.
Rushing back to the tower, Maeve called for Elide five times before she started to walk to the secret entry on the side, when she got into the house, she found it empty. Her heart beat faster as she thought of where Elide might be.
Something sparkled, and Maeve held the princess’s crown in her hands with horror. Sweat ran down her spine as she threw things around in anger, she NEEDED to find Elide. Finding her dagger in a drawer, she got to the forest again.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
She held her breath, shivering from head to toe as they entered the Snuggly Duckling. The scary and armed males looked at her, she held her hair, pointing her frying pan to each side, trying to protect herself. The door closed with a loud thud behind her, making her turn quickly, a man was holding a poster against the door, a smug in his lips.
"Isn't that you?" He pointed to Lorcan, and Elide almost giggled at how weirdly big they had drawn his nose in the wanted poster.
"Why do they never get my nose right? Isn't even that big!" He complained and the smirk in the man's face grew wider.
"Go call the guards, we'll deal with him." They started to walk towards Lorcan, he tried to run but ended up being held by the others, while the man from the door tried to punch him, Elide kept begging for them to release him but her pleas weren't heard.
Using her hair, she pulled a tree branch, until it hit the man that was trying to punch him, the room fell silent as they all turned to look at her.
"Please let my guide go, he promised to take me to see the lanterns, I need him to make my dream come true. Do you not have a dream too?" She blurted, her cheeks red as she shivered in panic. Lorcan almost started to mourn her loss when the guy approached her.
"I have a dream." He said, and Lorcan's jaw fell in disbelief as one by one, the males in the place started to tell her about their dreams, while she encouraged them to pursue them, her eyes shining as she listened. "What's your dream?" He asked him and Lorcan almost rolled his eyes.
"I don't have time for that kids." The man pointed a sword to his throat. "Well, my dream is simple, a desert island, a big castle, and lots of money just for me." The males scoffed and he almost felt offended as they mocked his dream.
Outside, the guards were arriving to get Lorcan, and someone spotted them from the window, warning them. The man that Elide knew now was called Aedion pointed to a lever, revealing a secret passage, pointing for them to get in there.
"Go, follow your dream." He said goodbye.
"Thank you, I will." Lorcan replied and Aedion gave him a quick slap on his head.
"Your dream sucks, I was talking to her." Elide blushed, giving him a quick peck on his cheek before he closed the door and they started to walk down the path.
Down in the tunnel, Lorcan was still astonished as they walked in silence. "What was that?" He asked.
"Sometimes you just have to listen." She smiled at him, he wanted to ask her so much but he knew she wouldn't answer, so they kept walking, until more steps sounded in the tunnel. "Lorcan?" She called, and he shoved her hair in her hands, grabbing it and they started to run.
They ran until they ended up in a dam, the royal guards behind them and Connall and Fenrys in front of them.
"Who are they?" She asked, trying to find a way to escape.
"People that don't like me very much." He replied, and Elide had an idea, throwing her hair, she swung down, and landed on the floor, starting to run, Lorcan was alone trying to think of something when he started to run again, sliding down through some water pipes.
"Farasha NO!" Chaol yelled as the mare kept hitting the pillar that held the dam in place, knocking it over, the pressure of the water made the dam break, the water flowing like a river, making Lorcan grab Elide by the hand and run until they reached a cave, with the strength of the water, a huge rock was knocked over the entry of the cave, trapping them both inside. Elide started to panic as the cave started to fill with water, she couldn't die there.
They tried without success to find a way out, but nothing worked, the water was above their necks when Elide remembered.
"My magic hair starts to glow whenever I sing." Lorcan looked at her and Elide started to sing and her hair started to glow, leaving him speechless, even more, when he saw the hair pointing to a way out, pulling the rocks, he was able to free the two of them.
They were panting, gasping for air as they looked at the bright sky. "WHAT WAS THAT?" He asked, nervously watching her.
"My mother says that before I was born, I was blessed by a ray of moonlight that fell on the earth, and that's why I can heal people. Come here." She demanded, and he did, she wrapped a hair strand around his hand, the one he hurt while he opened the way in between the rocks, and started to sing again, her voice was beautiful.
He looked at his healed hand and started to gasp, completely marveling at her. She got up, telling him she was going in for a walk, and he sat there with the little chameleon looking at him.
"Are you enjoying it?" A voice startled her and Elide turned to see her mother looking at her.
"Mom? What are you doing here?" She mumbled.
"I could ask the same, Elide. But it doesn't matter, let's just go home, shall we?" She grabbed Elide's arm and started to pull.
"No!" Elide stopped, Maeve turned to her, her eyes laced with fury as she scoffed!
"No? You go out once and you think you already know everything about the world? Silly, silly girl." She opened a bag, holding the crown in front of her nose. "Do you really think he cares about you? Once he gets what he wants, he won't even remember you." Maeve taunted and Elide felt the tears.
"He's different." She wasn't going to go back, not now.
"Then test it, give it to him, and see what he does." She threw the crown at Elide, turning her back and walking away. Elide eyed the crown, he wouldn't leave her for it, would he?
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
They were halfway into the city when Farasha found them again, running full speed towards Lorcan, who hid behind Elide, making the mare stop.
“What is happening?” She asked, spotting the animal in front of her.
“This mad mare is trying to get me arrested.” He pointed to her and Farasha scoffed.
“Ooh, this good baby is trying to do her job.” She started to rub her chin and the mare happily wiggled her tail. “Are you tired of chasing the bad guy?” The mare nodded, to Lorcan's utter shock. “Let’s make a deal? Today is very important for me, you let him take me to do what I need, and then you can chase him all you want.”
“What?” Lorcan asked in disbelief and the mare nodded again, looking at him with displeasure before letting them go. He was still marvelled at her abilities to make people, and apparently, animals too, bend to her will. She just needed to use her endless kindness to get what she wanted.
She tugged his shirt, and Farasha followed them closely as they entered the village, people prepared to celebrate, dancing around and laughing. Lorcan even paid some young girls to braid her hair to make things easier for them. They danced and enjoyed the moment, until Elide stopped, looking at a huge painting of King Cal and Queen Marion holding the missing princess.
“She disappeared when she was a baby, they still look for her, the lantern serves to guide her home.” He whispered to her ear and she looked at him. He could see some semblance in between them, something about her felt weirdly familiar to the princess.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Moonlight casted a glow to her beautiful face as Lorcan rowed until they reached the middle of the lake, she looked around at other boats where families and couples held lanterns to light up.
“I have a surprise.” He announced, pulling two lanterns from behind him. “Thought you may like it.” He handed her one and she looked at it.
“It’s beautiful.” He smiled as he watched her. After a minute, he grabbed a match, lighting both lanterns and they let them go, alongside the others. He swore she glowed, he was mesmerized by her beauty, the way her eyes watered as she fulfilled her dream.
Lorcan couldn’t help, as he leaned in, holding her face in between his large hands, pulling her to him. Her lips were soft and she didn’t know what to do, but he delicately guided her through the kiss, making her breath get caught in her throat.
As they parted, he spotted Fenrys and Connall on the shore, and he shivered, afraid they would hurt her. He moved the boat there looking at her.
“I need you to stay here, I’ll be right back.” Elide thankfully agreed, an then he walked to them. “Boys!” He greeted them.
“Where’s the girl?” Connall inquired.
“Girl? Which girl?” He played dumb.
“Cut it, Salvaterre, we know the girl is worth a million crowns.” He swallowed harshly.
“Look, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Let’s see then.” And with that, they launched at him.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
“Lorcan?” Elide asked, but one figure turned to two and she started to run away from the unknown males. She heard some grunts and the sound of someone falling on the floor, turning to where they were chasing her, she spotted her mother holding a huge tree branch.
“Darling!” Maeve called and Elide rushed to her, hugging her mother and sobbing on her chest.
“They appeared out of  nowhere, I was so afraid, I don’t know where Lorcan is.” Maeve rubbed circles on her back, turning her head so she could see Lorcan back at the boat, crown clutched to his hand as he sailed away.
“I know you thought he was different and I’m so sorry, let’s go home now.” Elide nodded, and followed her mother home.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Lorcan woke up in the cell, Captain Chaol told him he was sentenced to be hanged and it should be done on that same day. As he walked to his destiny, he spotted the twins in a cell.
“Where is she? What did you do to her?” He asked as he grabbed Fenrys by his shirt, the guards tried to pull him away.
“We didn't do anything, it was the old lady.” He said, and Lorcan knew he was being honest, he needed to get out of there.
She was in danger and he needed to go back to her, the only thing he didn’t knew was that more people cared about her, the males from the Snuggly Duckling were all arrested that day, and as he pleaded with them for help, he received, and he knew that it was because of her.
So at that moment, he found himself rushing through the forest, Farasha impossibly fast as they tried to get on her tower, he just wished he wasn’t late.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
Elide couldn’t sleep, something didn’t feel right, and as she started to think more about it, everything became clear in her head, and she gasped, feeling overwhelmed. Maeve yelled from somewhere in the tower asking if she was alright.
Feeling utterly disgusted by the woman in the house, she lifted from her bed, opening the curtains that separated her room. She met Maeve halfway, as she walked upstairs towards her room.
“Are you alright?” She asked again.
“I'm the lost princess.” She mumbled and Maeve rolled her eyes.
“Speak clearly, you know I hate when you mumble.”
“ I am the lost princess. Aren’t I?” She spoke louder and her mother’s violet eyes widened. “Did I mumble now, mother?” The sarcasm was evident in her tone as she said the word mother. “Or should I even call you that?”
“Do you even hear yourself?” Maeve scoffed, walking towards Elide. “Why would you ask such a ridiculous question?” She tried to hug Elide but she shoved Maeve away.
“It was you, it was all you!” She yelled, Maeve’s face contorted into a frown.
“Everything I did was to protect you.” Elide walked past her, going downstairs.
“So you hide me all my life, from people who would use me for my power when it was you, using me all this time.” Elide accused.
“Where do you think you’re going? Do you really think he will be waiting for you? That he loves you? You’re a fool.”
“I don’t care if he is waiting for me, I just want to get away from you.” She tried to put as much distance as she could from her. But then she stopped! “What did you do to him?”
“That criminal is going to be hanged for his crimes.” Maeve was smiling like this was the greatest news of all time. “It’s alright darling, everything will go back to normal now.” She tried to brush Elide’s hair but her hand didn’t reach as Elide grabbed her by her wrist.
“You were wrong about the world, and you were wrong about me. And I will NEVER let you use my hair again.” Maeve struggled to get away from her grip, as she released herself, she stumbled on a mirror, breaking it as it fell to the floor.
“You want me to be a villain, fine, I’ll be a villain.” Maeve said, before she lunged for Elide, she was bigger and stronger, which made it easier for her to stop Elide and get her locked up in chains, as she prepared to leave the tower.
⋆˙⟡☾𖤓☽ ⟡˙⋆
“Elide, let down your hair.” Lorcan yelled as he reached the tower, but no answer came, so he prepared to climb up there. Elide's hair flew across the air as she waited for him, for a second, he felt relief as he climbed up. “Elide, I thought I would never see you again.”
Lorcan said with hope, but only to spot Elide across the room, chained to the floor and a cloth covering her mouth. She fought against the shackles, mumbling against the cloth, but nothing worked, she watched with terror icing her blood as Maeve stabbed Lorcan.
“Now look at what you did, Elide.” She cleaned her dagger on her cloak. “Don’t worry dear, our secret will die with him.” She walked closer to Elide, she was sobbing, trying to release herself from this torment. “And as for us…” she pulled the chains, pulling Elide away with her. “We’re going somewhere, where no one will find you ever again.”
Elide fought with all her strength, trying to go to him, even Abraxos tried to stop Maeve, but she kicked him away, Elide yelled, pulling harder.
“Stop fighting!” Maeve complained. Elide managed to get rid of the cloth covering her mouth.
“NO! I won’t stop fighting, ever, not even for a minute for the rest of my life. I will never stop trying to get away from you.” The look on her face told Maeve that she was telling the truth. “But if you let me save him, I’ll go whatever you want, just don’t let him die.” She pleaded.
“No, no Elide, don’t go with her! I need you.” Lorcan tried to crawl to her.
“I’ll never run, I’ll never try to escape, just let me heal him and you and I will be together, forever.” Maeve seemed to consider it.
She chained Lorcan to a pillar, while Elide was almost on top of him, her eyes shining with tears as she watched him in pain. She pulled his hand away from the wound, and he winced, she sighed.
“I’m so sorry, everything is going to be fine now.” She reassured him, starting to wrap her hair around him.”
“No, Elide.” Lorcan tried to push her away. “I can’t let you do this.”
“And I can’t let you die.” Elide said, her voice cracking as she cried.
“But if you do this, then you will die.” He struggled to talk.
“It’s going to be alright!” She reassured him, her hand cupping his cheek.
“Elide wait.” He pleaded, his hand caressing her cheek, Elide gasped in surprise as Lorcan grabbed a handful of her hair, and chopped it off with a piece of the mirror he was hiding.
“Lorcan, no!” She held her hair, which lost its shine, her hair was reaching her shoulders now, the ethereal glow that always had, gone as a plain black covered her strands.
Maeve’s jaw slacked open as she started to scream in despair, rushing to get to the remaining hair that was still shining. All the years she avoided getting old, started to put weight on her as her skin turned wrinkly, her hair white and she could barely stand, screaming in agony as she got older and older until she disappeared in a pile of dust.
Elide was panting, she didn’t have her power anymore, and as she turned to Lorcan again he was wheezing, almost dead, she cried on top of him. She held his hand to her hair, singing over and over again, but it didn’t work, a single tear fell to his face, and Elide closed her eyes, feeling completely lost without him.
She held his cold body, crying on top of him, until she felt him stirring beneath her, she lifted her head, looking at him surprised as he opened his eyes. She hugged him with all her might, and he hugged her back, happy to see her pretty face.
He cupped her face, kissing her, again and again until they couldn't breathe.
“Are you ready to go home?” He asked her, Elide smiled.
“Only if you come with me.”

happy birthday komaeda
Someone sits on a ledge in a ruined city and thinks about jumping.
The fall is deadly. His body has always been weak, frail and untrustworthy; even his own luck couldn't save him. There's nothing soft down there, harsh edges and rusty rebar tempting him into a fate guaranteed. Few things in his life have been guaranteed, and something about that promise feels comforting, like it's the one thing he'll always have up his sleeve.
In his mind's eye, he jumps. He falls. His imagination has always been lively, but for some reason, this part is blank. "I die" is the only thing he can come up with- the image eludes him. He's scared, maybe, of truly seeing it- the same thing happened when he was kidnapped, mind hazy and gone, wondering: "what happens if he forgets to feed me?" He doesn't want to remember that.
He remembers it anyway, because the one thing the cancer refuses to take his is memory.
When Kamakura looked at him, he thought he might implode. Not for the reason the others thought- something about hope and despair and a name that tastes like sweet poison on his tongue. Not because he was infatuated, even if he is. Because Kamakura looked right through him and saw whatever vines twisted a thousand times over his heart and had the gall to say, "What was the diagnosis?"
He already knew. Komaeda doesn't know why he asked. But he did, and Komaeda answered, and then he huffed, turned on his heel, and walked away.
(That wasn't Komaeda. That was Servant, someone who doesn't exist, a shell of a person.)
Are the children looking for him? He doesn't care, and they don't care; this is a moment to himself, while everything falls apart around them. Monaca could manage on her own if she wished; there's a cruel boredom to her smile, but no matter what anyone seems to think, it's different. There's something hollow about it, something lonely, something sad. Something like the look in his own eyes when he smiles in the mirror.
And Towa City is at least calm. Already destroyed in some sense, largely intact in another. So of course he ended up here. There's no battle for him to fail through or politics to ruin. He just has to sit here, and mess up whatever job given to him, and be laughed at.
He thinks of a serial killer and writer sharing a body and laughs.
He thinks about Kamakura and stops.
He thinks about jumping.
---
"Komaeda, are you sure you're okay?"
They're sitting in a room together. Outside Future Foundation headquarters, but not far- they want to keep tabs on the group, considering heavily whether they'll be let in or not. Some are a given- Fuyuhiko, Hajime, Sonia. Others are questionable- Mikan, Teruteru, himself. Komaeda isn't sure what the suits think, but he imagines Hajime will be staunch about it, and he'll be let in as the group will. Even if he's only a patient for Mikan to fuss over when there's little to do, that's fine.
He has never minded being just a body for the machine. As long as the machine is working towards good ends, he can be a nothing gear.
"Of course. Don't worry about me."
To be specifically accurate, Hajime is half-sitting half-laying in bed, blearily looking at him from across the room, as Komaeda sits at a desk on a laptop. He woke up an hour ago and wanted to be busy with something, anything as a distraction, and he keeps the apartment spotless out of the same urge. But there isn't much work anyone piles onto him, so he's just sitting here, wondering a bit aimlessly why he opened the accursed thing.
Why he woke up is irrelevant, really. People wake up at four AM sometimes, it's nothing strange.
(He remembers stale wind and red skies, and a building, and thinking about plumetting. Except, in his dream, he actually falls, and falls, and falls, and then there's a spear in his heart and-)
Hajime closes his eyes, and falls back on the bed. Komaeda turns back to the laptop, and decides that if he can't do anything productive, he can at least try to bring Hajime's files into some semblance of order.
For a moment, he thinks that's all it'll be. And then he hears the blanket shuffle, and footsteps, and he says, "Am I keeping you up?"
"No," Hajime tells him, circling his arms around his front. Breath hitches in his throat- he can't stand to look back. Disappointment could fill his eyes, or annoyance furrow his brow, or pity worry at his lip, and all three of them would destroy him like a shattered porcelain doll. So he doesn't look back, even if he does sit back in the chair a little. "I'm not really sleepy anyway."
("I'm don't get tired easily," a quiet Kamakura tells him unprompted. He's rarely responding to questions, anticipating them and answering before they leave your lips. "They wanted efficiency." Servant hears what's unsaid and stores it in the shell he's got left of what he was.)
"Did you want to use the laptop?"
Silence meets him. Anxiety frays at his heart- what's Hajime thinking? Is he waiting? Hoping he'll come back to bed so he can make sure Komaeda is sleeping enough for his condition? That's Mikan's job, to worry over his health- he hopes Hajime isn't back to that old haunt that Kamakura used to take up when the two of them were in Towa City. To this day he isn't sure what about it drew the man in.
"You should tell me what it was," is what Hajime settles on.
Komaeda smiles. It's an instinct, like a deer in headlights; if something's too prying, smile and wave it away. "Nothing, really. Just couldn't sleep."
"...That's not true," Hajime insists. But there's sleep still stuck in his throat, thick and syrupy; if he plays his cards right. maybe Hajime will decide he's too much trouble and go back to bed.
("You're trouble," Kamakura states. It's not a question and doesn't sound like a complaint, and it's not like Servant could respond to such a thing while bedridden. There are more words, but sadly, his consciousness fails him, and they all sound like static.)
"...It's nothing I can't deal with myself. You should go to bed- you sound tired."
Hajime just makes a noise, properly bending down into a hug. His arms tighten, and Komaeda almost wants to look back, but doesn't. Now it feels like cheating, peering at an answer he's supposed to solve himself. And he's never been opposed, but the shame curls around him like a serpent.
"I'll join you in a minute," Komaeda promises.
"...I wasn't having a great dream either," Hajime tells him, and course he knew the whole time. It doesn't take a genius to have figured that out. But he was hoping it could be kept in its box where it's contained, not growing, simply existing. A therapist would tell him that's a bad idea, but Komaeda thinks he knows his own brain well enough to cope nowadays. "It was about Towa City."
"Ah."
"You were standing on a high rooftop. I was across the street in a building, watching from a window."
Komaeda puts a hand on his, tentatively and slowly, in case it'd be rejected. Hajime takes it in his, tight and secure. "You were looking down. And I couldn't move."
"And then?"
Hajime pauses. "And then I felt cold, so I woke up. I don't know what was going to happen."
"I see."
"But I think Kamakura does."
Komaeda says nothing. Kamakura's powers of observation are second to none, and of course the husk that Servant was never cared to hide anything he didn't need to. If Kamakura had looked at him for even a nanosecond while he was up on a building, he'd probably see the image in his mind.
(They're on top of one such building. Servant is staring at the edge in lieu of disgracing Kamakura with his eye. He does not notice the arm moving until it's already around his shoulder, tugging him closer. He assumes, in this moment, that Kamakura is cold, or maybe that he thought the ground was going to collapse that close to the edge.)
"You were thinking about jumping," Kamakura states plainly.
"Yes." Hiding from Kamakura is silly. It's like trying to socialize in a hospital bed. "Back then, anyways."
"Come to bed," he states plainly. "It is worse alone."
Komaeda obliges, because he knows there isn't much getting out of it. He shuts the laptop and gets up, Kamakura trailing him into the bed. Laying down is awkward, unsure of what Kamakura wants- which turns out to be fine, because he doesn't care much about taking it for himself, burying his face in Komaeda's neck and pulling him close.
It's warm. With whichever one of them- Hajime, Kamakura, both if they'd prefer that thought- it's hard to think about that moment, because in the memory it is cold and dry and distant and lonely, and now there is a beating heart so loud in his ears it's hard to think.
"...I am glad you never did," he says. "While I was there I would have stopped you. But there were moments you could have."
"There were," Komaeda says. And, truthfully, he thinks that black void is the reason he didn't. The lack of an idea, the sudden fear of the plunge when he imagined the end- Servant could only do things he could imagine, and he couldn't imagine the final moment. Even in the end, he was scared- it would make him hysterical if not for the calm, collected beating heart he feels under his hands. "...That's over now."
"Even if it isn't," Kamakura tells him, "I would rather know you are safe."
He thinks about saying something in response, but they really were tired. After a few more moments, their breathing evens out so suddenly he thinks Kamakura must be able to enter REM on command- the thought is almost funny.
But, really, it's hard to be distracted by anything when there's a beating heart so close to his own.

The sound of all the lights getting turned on one by one was loud enough to ring the couple's eardrums in surprise as they turn their attention to the room now revealing itself to have blue, aurora filled skies, flower filled field, a vine carrying a portrait from the ceiling, and a road with a few sets of heart shaped wooden tunnels going up ahead, while the sound of organs suddenly starts playing out of nowhere, much to their dumbfounded surprise.

Ruby: What....are we even looking at right now?

The sudden mechanical sounding voice spooked Ruby well enough to make her quickly hug her boyfriend's arm while shaking a bit.

Ruby: Who says anything about us bring your friend!?
Mechanical Voice: This sacred destination is where two lovers who met their destined partners, discuss their love for each other. What could be waiting up ahead?
Oscar: (Looks Over to the Road Ahead of Him and Ruby) That can't be our only way out.....can it?
Ruby: Hold that thought.
Ruby lets go of Oscar's arm and uses her semblance to dash her way to the other side of the room before coming straight back a few seconds later.
Ruby: (Starts Panting a Bit While Bending her Upper Body Down Close to her Knees) I.....can't find.....a single exit......around.....this....stupid place! (Sits Herself Down on the Ground) It's like an endless void or something.......
Mechanical Voice: In order to find out what lies ahead, you must step forth, hand-in-hand and embrace what this particular road will have in store of both of you going forward. Now, please step forth.
Oscar: ('Sigh') Well, that answers all that. Forward we go I guess. (Turns to Ruby) You feeling okay there, Rubes?
Ruby: Yeah. (Gets Herself Back Up on her Feet) Had to catch my breath for a second there. Now then.....(Grab Hold of Oscar's Hand) Shall we go forth, hand-in-hand, my good sir?~ (Forms Bright, Cheeky Grin on her Face)
Oscar: (Stares at Ruby For a Brief Second Before Snickering) You are such a dork, you know that?~ (Starts Walking Forth Along with Ruby)
Ruby: (Chuckles Lightly) Hey, you fell in love with one~ Besides, don't act like you don't have your dorky moments too, mister. (Forms a Teasing Smirk) Remember that sweet love song you sang a while back? A kiss from a rose perhaps?~
Oscar: (Rolls his Eyes a Bit) I was hoping to forget about that one, thanks......And hey, wait a minute. (Glares at Ruby) You sang a son about me afterwards!
Ruby: Yeah, but it wasn't even remotely close as being as romantic as yours, with that nice, angelic singing voice of yours.
Oscar: (Starts Blushing While Turning Away and Rubbing his Head) You're being too modest here....Your song was nice too, albeit short, and you're singing isn't bad ei-(Eyes Slowly Starts to Widened at What is in Front of Him and Ruby) therrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......
Ruby: Oscar, what's- (Eyes Starts Widening Up as Well) wrrrrrOOOOONNNNG!!!?
The couple's shocked face speaks volumes as they witnessed a golden portrait of Ruby dressed in a dark red wedding dress, carrying Oscar, wearing a green tux, in her arms,
Mechanical Voice: Here, you will see the bride and groom's joyous commemorative photograph of their undying love and passion for one another.
Oscar: (Almost at a Loss For Words) ........Your kidding.
Ruby: (Places her Hands on Both Sides of her Head in Complete Disbelief) WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!? How? When? Why!? What kind of constant makes you answer a bunch questions, brings you down here with a trapped floor, and flat out assume you want to get hitch!? This doesn't make any lick of SENSE!!! AT ALL!!! .(Continues Ranting On)
Starting to notice something was off, Oscar walks himself over towards the picture to take a closer look. It took him thirteen and a half seconds later to find a few details before turning back to his distressed girlfriend.
Oscar: Hey, Ruby. Ruby!
Ruby: (Immediately Stops her Ranting and Gives Oscar his Attention) Yeah?
Oscar: Come over here for a second. Take a look at this. (Watches Ruby Walk Herself to The Picture Frame Before Turning Back to It) Notice something odd about all of this look? Like how big both our heads are compared to our bodies?
Ruby: (Starts Taking a Closer Look at The Picture Herself) Yeah......Our heads does look better in this......('Gasps') And they don't remotely blend in with the bodies at all!! (Turns to Oscar with an Angry Look on her Face) Those jerks photoshopped us!!
Oscar: (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion) Photoshopped?
Ruby: It's where they take a photo part of you and try altering and editing it into another one, hoping it could blend into the other photo's background. (Crosses her Arms) And they did s real lousy job on that front, that's for sure!
Oscar: (Looks Back at the Fake Photo) Yeah, no kidding. It doesn't look nearly look as believable looking back at it. And why exactly are you carrying me in your arms?
Ruby: To make it stand out I guess. (Slowly Starts Smirking Again) Which reminds me~
Oscar: ('Sigh') Oh God. What is it?
Ruby: I never did get the chance to carry you bridal style. (Playfully Shrugs) Now it seems like a pretty good time for me to finally give a go, don'tcha think?~
Oscar: Ruby, we're not even close to finding our way out of here, we don't have time for this.
Ruby: (Clasps her Hands Together While Giving Oscar the Puppy Dog Eyes) Pleaseee?~ I promise it'll be quick. I'll even teach you how to execute a Raging Demon properly!
Oscar: (Raises an Eyebrow) Really?
Ruby: Really ×1000 with a cherry on top~ (Rapidly Blanking her Eyes in a Cutesy Manner)
Oscar: ('Sigh') Alright. You got yourself a-DEAL!? (Quickly Gets Scooped Up into Ruby's Arms, Bridal Style)
Ruby: Gotcha!~ Right in the neck of time too~ (Winks at her Boyfriend)
Oscar: (Playfully Rolls his Eyes) My speedy hero. You're already enjoying this, aren't you?
Ruby: (Forms a Playful, Seductive Smirk on her Face) Not as much as I'm gonna enjoy kissing that cute freckled face of yours~ (Starts Kissing Oscar's Freckled Cheeks)
Oscar: (Chuckles Ticklishly) Sheesh!~ You're in a more romantic mood than usual, Rubes. What gives?~
Ruby: (Casually Shrugs) It's Valentine's and whatnot. (Starts Pouting Again) And whaddya mean "more than usual"? I'll have you know that I have been the most romantic young woman in our lovely relationship!~
Oscar: Are you really though?~
Ruby makes a cute angry noise at Oscar, causing him to chuckle even more.
Oscar: Kidding, kidding! You're very romantic in your own cool way and I love you a lot for it. (Kiss Ruby on the Cheek)
Ruby's heart starts to melt in pure happiness as she hugs Oscar close to her before suddenly notices something from afar.
Ruby: ('Gasps') Oscar! Look! (Points Oscar Towards....) A door!
Oscar: (Eyes Widened atvthe Door in Question) You're right.....(Smiles Brightly) That might be our one ticket outta here.
Ruby: (Smiles Brightly as Well) Well, what are we waiting for? Let's Cheese it!
Ruby was about to activate her semblance until the sudden sound of the alarm Starts ringing their ears.
Mechanical Voice: Halt. Halt. You two are not permitted to use your semblance and/or run towards the door ahead.
Oscar: Seriously!?
Ruby: (Glares at the Invisible Voice) And why not!? We're halfway to the ending point, aren't we?
Mechanical Voice: Indeed you are. But this road to enlightenment is an once and lifetime experience that cannot impatiently rush. Therefore, If you and your friends wish to leave this entire facility, then I advise the both of you to continue to walk this path as originally planned.
The couple groans in defeat and pure annoyance as Ruby puts Oscar back down on his feet before continuing their tedious quest, walking on foot.
Ruby: (Starts Grumbling On) ('Groans') I swear, I wish where that voice is coming from so I could punch him in his dumb face....
Oscar: You and me both. But the closer we reach to that door, the more time we'll have find the others and leave. We can't stop now.
Ruby: Yeah, yeah.....
'A Bit of Silence'
Ruby: Hey, Oscar, can I ask you something?
Oscar: Yeah, what is it?
Ruby: Do you hate Uncle Qrow?
Oscar: (Turns to Ruby with a Bit of a Confused Look on his Face) Not....really? What makes you think that.
Ruby: Well, for starters, always look uneasy whenever you two see each other, like you're trying to avoid talking to him or something. (Rolls her Eyes a Bit) Not like he's any better in comparison......
Oscar: ('Sighs Heavily') Yeah......That's not surprising.....Considering we don't really gotten along as much as we should. (Roll his Eyes) Mostly cause of everything Ozpin related.
Ruby: ('Sigh') Of course.....So, is that one of the reasons why you two fought in Vacuo in the past?
Oscar: (Eyes Widened as He Immediately Stops Walking) Wait, how did you-
Ruby: Emerald told me about during our lunch outing the other day.
Oscar: Really. That's the third time this week you guys been hanging out this week.
Ruby: Yeah, it's been an ongoing thing we do oddly enough. (Pouts at Oscar Again) And before you say anything, NO! This doesn't automatically make the both of us friends!
Oscar: You sure? (Chuckles a Bit) Cause it kinda sounds like you are actually starting to get along for once.
Ruby: AS ASSOCIATES!! (Crosses her Arms) That doesn't mean I wanna be buddy-buddy with her of all people! She know what she did.
Oscar: And she's more than willing to pay the price for it however she can, her words. Just try and give her another chance, will ya? As rude, harsh, and smart-mouthed as she gets at times, she can also be as cool and understanding once you guys get to know her more better. Hopefully.
Ruby: I still don't trust her. ('Sigh') But I'll try and get along for you.....Now, quit stalling and tell me why you and Qrow were fighting!!
Oscar: (Takes a Deep Breath Before Speaking) Okay, so......It all started when we reached to Vauco. We all assumed you, your team, Jaune, and Penny were dead at the time, so we arranged a funeral for all of you. It was an emotionally stressful time for most of us to endure, Qrow especially.......
Ruby: (Pinches the Bridge of her Nose) Oh no......Please don't tell me he was drunk during that time.....
Oscar: ('Sigh') Unfortunately. He seemed so....out of it the moment we saw him step into the room. Laughing, crying, freaking out and throwing out anything in the room he could find.........I tried calming him down, he shoved by the shoulder, yell at me, and said, and I quote: "I am nothing but a useless, puppet meat shield, who should've fell down and died instead."
Ruby: (Eyes Widened in Shock, Couldn't Believe What She Heard Just Now) ......What?
Oscar: It's the truth. He said it right in front of face...... And it got to me. Egregiously so. I have worked my hardest to contribute to the team, to try and fix Oz's mistakes and do better by him, surived and fought the hardest I have EVER done in my life, from Ironwood, Salem, Hazel, and anyone else who stood in my way of living my life!....And to have him call me useless after all of that just....struck a nerve in me. So I punched him. More than once. He started punching me. And before either of us know it, we ended fighting until Nora, Ren, and the others was able to break us up, ending the service altogether. (Sighs While Facepalming Himself) I know we've been through a whole lot to get to that point, some of which more life-threatening than the others, but it wasn't an excusefor either of us to act that way, especially when we were suppose to mourn for our loses. I'm really sorry, Rub-
Ruby: (Immediately Hugs Oscar Tightly) No! Emotions get the better of us at times, it happens! And that's absolutely NOTHING for you to apologize for! If anyone should be doing that other than Qrow, it's me for not helping or being there for you as much as I should be. (Starts Tearing Up a Bit) Especially when I knew for a fact that you were suffering way more than the rest of us combined. ('Sniff') You didn't deserve any of that, Oscar. Not at all!
Oscar: (Frowns Sadly at the Sound of Ruby's Soft Crying) Ruby, come on. Don't say that. You've done a lot for more than you think you did.
Ruby: ('Sniff') Yeah? Like that? Not yelling at you?
Oscar: (Gently Pulls Ruby Away From Him For a Moment) You know that's not what I mean. Remember that at we were staying at the dojo and I got so worked up over everything that's been going on with and Oz?
Ruby: Yeah. (Wipes the Tears Away) ('Sniff') You seemed so mad....and scared.
Oscar: (Simply Nodded) I was. But that pep talk you gave me about how i should keep fighting and moving forward, it inspired me a lot since: to be better, stronger, and more brave than I've ever been growing up. (Let's Out a Soft Chuckle) Heck, if anything, I highly doubt I would be standing here right now if I never took any of the advice you've given me since then, to heart. You've been an inspiration to me from the very beginning, Ruby Rose, and it makes me love you even more than I do before, believe it or not.
Ruby: (Heart Starts Melting in Happiness Again) You're real inspiration to me too, you know?
Oscar: I am? Really?
Ruby: (Giggles Softly While Hugging Oscar Again) Yes, really, you big dumb-dumb!~ You inspired me to keep going, make more better choices, be a better leader, a better person even. And be makes me so, so happy to meet abd eventually fall in love with someone as sweet, brave, and, wonderful like you in my life. I love you with every bit of fiber my heart and soul can carry, Oscar Everlynn Pine~
Oscar: (Heart Begins to Melt as Well as He Hugs His Girlfriend as Well) Likewise. And listen, please don't hold any of what happened against your uncle. What he did was completely uncalled for, but I can tell it was because of how heartbroken he was of losing his only two nieces, you and Yang.
Ruby: I'm not happy with what he did to you at all and I will DEFINITELY have a talk with him the next time we see each other again. ('Sigh') Buuuuuut I suppose I'll try not to be too mad at him IF you give lots of cuddles later on today~ (Smirks at her Farm Boi)
Oscar: (Smirks Back) Give me a Valentine's kiss and you got yourself a deal.
Ruby: (Places her Hand onto Oscar's Cheek) Done and done~
Ruby leans in to kiss Oscar until something flew over towards the white door in blazing, startling the duo into hugging one another as they turn to see a man I'm a black suit slowly sliding down off the door, groaning in immense pain.
Ruby: What in the-
????: RUBY! OSCAR!
The duo turns to see two very familiar faces making their way towards them.
Ruby: ('Gasps') Yang!~
Oscar: Emerald!
Yang: (Rushes Over to Hug Both Ruby and Oscar) You two had us so worried....Are you okay?
Ruby: Yeah, we good. (Happily Hugs her Big Sister) Even more so now that you're here!~
Oscar: How were you two able to get down here?
Emerald: We ran down the stairs. Like five to six of them in total I think? Anyways, he had to chase down the dumbass over there before he could get away. (Points the Duo Back to the Man Knocked Out)
Yang: Yeah, turns out him and his little friends upstairs were pulling the strings of this little Couple's Questionaire charade just try and throw us off courses to what their scheming. (Smiles Brightly) Luckily, everyone else are handling the rest of those punks as we speak.
Meanwhile in the Third Floor
Nora: (Glaring and Tightening Up her Mangchild Dangerously at the Rest of the Shaking Suited Men Tied Up, With Everyone Else Ominously Glaring at Them in the Background) I'm getting REAL of sick playong the silent game right now.....If you idiots don't quit your shaking, cut the bullshit, and tell us where have you sent my baby and his girlfriend RIGHT NOW, you six are going feel each and everyone of our WRATHS in the next thirty seconds!
Pyrrha: (Hovering Multiple Swords in the Air, Pointing the Blades Down at the Terrified Culprits) Start. Talking.
Back at the Bottom Floor
Emerald: It's a good thing the two us came down as quickly as we could. (Forms a Small, Playful Smirk on her Face) We can't have you two lovebirds go in and elope on us now.
Ruby: (Pouts at Emerald) Oh will you hush!? We're not dumb enough to fall for this stupid trap completely!
Yang: (Starts Smirking as Well) You sure? Cuz that picture frame we saw kind of says otherwiseeee~
Oscar: (Gives the Two Older Ladoes a Deadpinned Look on his Face) It's a photoshopped picture, Yang. (Turns Away While Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) Though, I do think that.....(Starts Blushing a Bit) Ruby does look pretty cute in that red dress. She's looks better in that frame than I do actually.
Yang: (Forms a Proud Grin) Of course!~ My baby sister can rock any dress she wears perfectly! But don't short, lil bro. (Playfully Pulls One Side of Oscar's Cheek) I think you would look pretty damn handsome in that suit~
Ruby: (Playfully Pulls on Oscar's Other Cheek) Right?~ My precious farm boi will be the most handsomest man in our very own wedding!~
Oscar: (Already Annoyed) Stooooooop......(Notices a Emerald Holding her Scroll Right I'm Front of Him and the Sisters) Really?
Emerald: Oh don't mind me. Just capturing the cuteness is all. Probably use it as blackmail or something later down the road.
Oscar: I hate all of you.
Emerald: No you don't.
Oscar: ('Sigh') I don't. I love you all a lot actually.
Emerald: Love you too, handsome.

An Alien Find
Characters: Gem, Pearl
Wc: 987
Written for @flashfictionfridayofficial prompt 251, “Out There”
Ao3: Here!
When Gem settled on the mountain with her dwarf friend, Impulse, it wasn’t just because of its advantageous position, far away from civilization and with a river on the skirts of the mountain.
The landscape across from her… there was no word for it other than alien.
No, not magical. She knew magic better than most and it didn’t look like that. Hills that twisted and rolled. Platforms of soil, forming natural underpasses. Trees of colors she never would have imagined possible. Purple, blue, pines of yellow and orange. Crystal flowers. Vines that supported their own weight, growing up in the air. And over one of the hills…
A mushroom. Towering over nearly everything. Teal. Like two heads of a bird, sprouting from an orange stem. Nothing about it felt… earthly.
And next to it, a flower, the only thing that stood taller than the mushroom. Its petals reached out like tentacles into the skies. Its roots shaped the soil around it like a magnet, green tubes that left the ground. From afar, you could confuse them for moss-ridden bridges.
But not everything was natural, and that interested her just as much. Builds sprawled over the landscape. Grey, but not stone. And a tower, though it was unfair to just call it that. It stood as tall as the flower and mushroom. Multiple layers of different colors and shapes. Rings floated around it.
And they were empty.
So far, Impulse and her hadn’t seen anyone around. No one who could’ve built or lived in those buildings. And yet, they weren’t crumbling from disrepair.
Neither had crossed the river yet, fearing what could reside there, all the same.
They still chose that spot to live in because sometimes, the views were worth the risk.
And anyway, their distance was changing today! She thought she saw some movement, as she was setting up base — a bigger one, not the small treehouse she was currently living in. It was nice, but obviously temporary. She was an elf. Sure, she may have been exiled for befriending a dwarf and also her many crimes of treason with said dwarf and some beheadings here and there, but she still had standards. And those standards were a big castle with a dungeon where she could display the heads of her enemies.
And so, she filled herself with courage and buckled her sword.
One could never be too careful.
Impulse was too busy doing dwarf things underground and she wanted to do this on her own. Still, she called out to him, just in case, and when he didn’t respond, she shrugged. She was intimidating enough on her own. And if the being wasn’t intimidated by her at first, they would quickly learn to adapt.
She slipped on her wooden glider wings, something she and Impulse designed for quick get-aways, and with a running start, jumped off the mountain.
The closer she got, the more she was hit with how gorgeous it all looked.
She descended gracefully in front of the buildings and closed her wings. She unsheathed her blade.
Slowly, she approached the main building’s gates.
The crushing of grass behind her made her swivel, sword outstretched, her braid whipping from the movement.
“Oi, mate! Careful with that thing, you almost hit me!”
Gem’s eyes widened and her arm lingered uncertain as she processed the message and what she was looking at.
A woman was standing there. Human, by the look of things, but you could never be too certain. Tall, long brown hair, a sloped nose, friendly looking eyes, and some very strange clothes. Forest green… not quite breeches, that extended over her torso, covering a black shirt. And on her head, the strangest thing of all, a helmet without face protection. Orange, and with a texture she couldn’t recognize. Actually, her boots seemed to be of a similar material.
Gem took a step back, certain with her sword. “Who are you?” she asked with a threat in her voice.
The other got the memo and stepped back too, arms still in front of her. “Wh— I should be asking you! You burst into my home and threaten me?”
That got Gem to finally lower her sword. “This is your home?”
The lady looked around with mild panic and then deflated. “Yes.” Then, her eyes shone, body re-energized. “Oh, you must be one of the new neighbours! You’re human, right?”
She looked too eager, asking that.
“Uh…”
“Oh, are you not?”
Gem pointed at her ears and the woman nodded absently.
“Right… So, not human?”
“... No?”
Okay, whatever that lady was, she definitely was not a human, like she’d thought. They’d have to keep a close eye on her.
“And your friend? The short one?”
“A dwarf.”
The definitely-not-human lady took a second and then pouted. “Okay.”
“What, you looking for humans?”
“W-well, of course I am looking for my people!”
Right, so that’s how they were doing things. Gem decided to play along.
“I see!” She looked over the constructions. “And they aren’t in one of those buildings?”
The stranger shook her head. “No, I don’t know what happened. I’m trying to study what happened to the– to my people. They were all here and one day, they disappeared. I figured if you two were humans too… you may have an idea of what happened.”
“Sorry, no.” Gem genuinely was sorry. “I was too busy trying to commit regicide.”
“Oh.” Their eyes met. “And that is?”
Gem brushed it off with her hand. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Okay…” The woman sounded unconvinced. “Oh, you asked for my name. I’m Pearlescent Moon. Pearl, for short.”
“Nice to meet you, Pearl.” Gem stretched out a hand. “Gemini Tay. Gem.”
Pearl looked at the hand for a long moment, frowning, then met her gaze. “Um, nice to meet you too, Gem! I’ll have to meet your ‘dwarf’ friend next!”
Yes, she would definitely have to.

Warrior Cats Suffixes- B
I had a WC Name Generator on Perchance that I made but I don't seem to have access anymore, so I'm remaking it here as just a simple list. The definitions used are the ones that Clan cats have for those things, and thus are the origins of the names. Definitions used are whatever I found when I googled it.
-bark: "[noun] an outer layer of a woody plant such as a tree or stick; [noun] the sharp explosive cry of certain animals, especially a dog, fox, or seal"
-beak: "[noun] the hard, pointed part of a bird's mouth"
-beam: "[noun] a ray or shaft of light; [verb] (of a light or light source) shine brightly"
-bee: "[noun] a honeybee; [noun] an insect of a large group to which the honeybee belongs, including many solitary as well as social kinds"
-beetle: "[noun] an insect of an order distinguished by forewings typically modified into hard wing cases that cover and protect the hind wings and abdomen"
-bellow: "[verb] (of an animal) emit a deep loud roar, typically in pain or anger; [noun] a deep roaring shout or sound"
-belly: "[noun] the front part of the cat trunk below the ribs, containing the stomach and bowels"
-berry: "[noun] a small roundish juicy fruit without a stone"
-bill: "[noun] the jaws of a bird together with their horny covering. A duck's bill; [noun] a mouthpart (such as the beak of a turtle) that resembles a bird's bill"

Tales of the Departed - IrisClan
Fogtail's Challenge
Tumblr media
Why should you hold the power of the stars
If you cannot even feel their weight?
Ignoring the looks of his clanmates, the gray tabby brushed past the vines and rushed into the leader’s den.
“Fogtail?” Weedstar whined. “You know I’m having my alone time…”
“We need to talk.”
The brown tabby didn’t move from his nest.
“Not now.”
“Weedstar—“
“I said, not now!” The leader bristled, making his scrawny body bigger than it truly was. “Fogtail, you’re more than capable— Wait, what happened to you?”
His whiskers twitched in frustration with the blood trails in his den, but he inspected his brother’s wounds. There were claw marks along his back and his eye… was now gone.
“The rogues ambushed us! Dappledsky is dead, and we couldn’t even bring her body back!” Fogtail growled, trying to keep his frustration from showing. “This is what I’ve been telling you. Why would they pass the opportunity to attack when our clan’s been dealing with the sickness!?”
Weedstar stayed silent for a moment.
“Well, they clearly breached our agreement,” He sighed. “For now, get yourself patched up and tell her family. I’ll think of a plan.”
“Foxdung, a plan!” Fogtail snapped. “Your solution is always talking and thinking, but you never do anything! Did talking fix the rogues? Did thinking fix the sickness?”
“There’s nothing wrong with peace talks. It’s not my fault that the rogues betrayed us!”
The leader stepped to the exit as he continued.
“And I’ve told everyone to stop catching prey near the river, yet they still end up eating something sick. Why do I have to make the solution to their mousebrained decisions?”
“You think an apprentice can see it?” Fogtail growled. “You think it’s their fault the poison is scentless?”
“Shouldn’t you think you can do something more, Weedstar?”
“Ugh, here we go again. Your apprentice is going to be fine!” He scoffed. “She’s young and she’ll survive. The only ones we’ve lost are old bags of bones. It’ll be fine—”
“You call cats losing their clanmates fine?” Fogtail stepped into Weedstar’s gaze, forcing him to look at his bloodied face. “You call this fine!?”
“Death and injuries are part of a warrior’s life. Stop acting immature and get over yourself.”
Fogtail’s claws dug deeper into the ground.
“Why are you always—“
“I am the leader. You are the deputy,” Weedstar’s voice lost its smooth and carefree tinge. There was no longer any emotion left. “Now, go see the healer. Let Dappledsky’s family know she died nobly. And get those noon patrols—”
He staggered back, surprised by the blow Fogtail had delivered.
Fogtail took a deep breath as the cheek of his brother started to bleed. He shouldn’t do this. He had to stay calm. He could stay calm, like all those years ago.
“You…” He shut his eyes. “You never knew what a warrior’s life’s like.”
Weedstar raised a brow as his brother stayed still, not taking the steps to the den’s exit.
“Fogtail,” He sighed. “I’ve been doing everything I can—”
A blur of gray and black crossed his vision. Weedstar found himself being dragged out the leader’s den, and he hit the hard ground below. Surprised gasps and yowls echoed throughout the camp.
“Weedstar,” Fogtail growled from the top of the clan’s hightree. “I’ve had enough of your bullshit!”
“Is Weedstar okay? Where’s Dappledsky?”
“What’s going on?”
“I’m caring for enough sick cats! Why’d you throw him off the tree!?”
The deputy disregarded their whispers and yowls. All he could see was how feeble Weedstar looked.
Tumblr media
Was this worthless cat fitting to be called leader? Was this the cat IrisClan looked up to?
The one mother oh so loved dearly?
“By my right under the skies of StarClan, and for the sake of our clan…”
“Is he…?”
“But Weedstar’s an alrigh—”
“Finally!”
“I challenge you for the leadership of IrisClan!”
The leader’s ears flattened.
“You…! You can’t do this, Fogtail!” His meow was suddenly laced with fear. “You know I have seven lives—”
The gray tabby didn’t care as he jumped down, coming face to face with his brother.
“Once the challenge has started, there’s no turning back,” Fogtail growled. “Fight me. Show me what warrior’s life you’ve lived. Show me what mother taught you!”
Weedstar gazed around the camp.
“Isn’t he gonna move?”
“No wonder the rogues attacked us…”
“…Fine! If you die, it’s not my fault. You’re bringing this upon yourself!”
He shook his pelt and leapt at Fogtail. The gray tabby dodged the blow. Ignoring the pain from his slashed shoulder, he pinned Weedstar down and ripped through his throat.
“That quickly..!”
“But he mentioned seven lives. Fogtail isn’t going to last…”
“Are Weedstar’s kits even old enough to be deputy?”
Coughing up the blood from his healed wound, the leader staggered up. His eyes narrowed.
The next lives were all a blur.
The second— Weedstar pinned Fogtail down. A moment of hesitation flashed in the tabby’s eyes. His deputy raked through his belly.
Third— The leader fought harder, giving Fogtail several scratches. He clamped his jaws around Weedstar’s throat.
Fourth— He didn’t let go, but the taste was overwhelming.
Fifth— The blood clung to his fur—
Sixth— Shaking paws—
Seventh—
The last. At last.
Weedstar’s body was covered in red.
The clearing was nearly red.
Utter silence filled the camp.
Everyone was afraid.
Fogtail was…
Afraid.
Was this really what he wanted..?
If he really didn’t care for Weedstar, why did he spend all that time to help him? To cover for him?
Weedstar wasn’t all that bad. His brother had even made him deputy.
A decision made in rage.
But this time, one he couldn’t take back.
“StarClan has not intervened,” The healer, Rimethorn, snapped Fogtail out of his trance. He stood before the tom, herbs ready. “The moon remains uncovered, and to have had the strength to fight… It is undeniable that Fogtail is IrisClan’s new leader.”
With a nod, Fogtail allowed him to start wrapping his wounds.
“We can’t follow a murderer!”
“Young one, these challenges are nothing new to the history of IrisClan.”
“We needed a strong leader, anyway!”
“I haven’t heard of kin doing it before…”
“Given everything maybe they weren’t true fami—“
“Weedstar may be imperfect, but he treated me like a real brother,” Fogtail’s voice silenced them all. “I’m sure some of us do… care for him deeply. I do not expect you to forgive nor understand my choice. But I will let you know I have done this for the good of the clan.”
The only response from his clanmates was silence. If anyone still disagreed, they didn’t make any moves. Not yet.
“Rimethorn will need to focus on the sick. I will travel to the Moonstone with only… Dogweb and Moonfleck. Until my kin is of age, Gravelpelt will be the acting deputy.”
A spotted blue she-cat stepped forward. Gravelpelt’s expression was stern— even disapproving. But she was one of the few cats he could trust.
And he knew no cat held any malice or grudges against her.
Under the wary gaze of his clanmates, his group departed.
“…Was it necessary to challenge Weedstar?” Moonfleck meowed softly. The sand-pelted tabby wasn’t afraid, but his green eyes showed concern. “To kill him?”
“…I don’t know.” Fogtail blinked. “I… I just… It’s…”
He stomped through the forest, trying to get rid of his guilt.
“Ugh! Weedstar’s always put so much work on me! Why should he have nine lives when I’m always putting myself on the line!?”
“I had to do it, Moonfleck,” He hissed. “I’ll prove to our clan why.”
“Some of them will put up a fight, Fogtail,” The senior warrior, Dogweb, meowed. “Are you prepared for that?”
“If that’s the cost to be leader, so be it,” Fogtail lashed his tail angrily. “Once we return, do not enter the camp. If I have received my lives, then I should fight.”

With the Poll officially over, it is time to announce the title of the Custom 7th Skylanders game, and all that will come with it!
Skylanders: Twin Skies
The 7th game in the Skylanders franchise, and the 1st (currently only) game in the Custom Skylanders series, Skylanders: Twin Skies is a game based on duality and the Skylanders Multiverse.
Info on how to join and interact with the project at the bottom.
---
Story:
Kaos never escaped from the prison that he was put into by the Skylanders at the end of Imaginators, and remains trapped in there to this very day. Recruits are trained, same as always, and the villains turned Sensei's do what they can to help, even if they still have less than moral opinions on some things.
However, what no one ever expected to happen was for there to be a new Kaos in town... Well, other than Sensei Kaos, but he's chill!
When a rip in the very sky itself opened up, and a battleship larger than some entire kingdoms flew through, no one knew what to expect, and were shocked to find a new Kaos at its helm. Going by the name of King Kaos, and wielding his ultimate weapon, "The Infinite Cosmic Destroyer of DOOM!". he has defeated the Skylanders of his own world, and begun traveling the multiverse, destroying Cores of Light in order to feul his ICDoD to conquer more worlds.
The newest team of Skylander recruits had infiltrated the Doom Ship to try and stop King Kaos, but were caught by him, and blasted out of Skylands by the ICDoD. This caused them to split apart and reform throughout the multiverse anew, taking on traits of their multiversal variants. Now, the Twin-Types, as they call themselves, can switch between their variants, being able to have two bodies in the same mind. The Skylanders and their allies must now work together to defeat their biggest and baddest foe ever before. And King Kaos? Well, he has some tricks of his own up his sleeve...
---
Gimmick Type:
Physical Appearance: Twin-Type Skylanders are a team of Skylanders possessing two elements. They can switch between their elements in the same way that the Nintendo exclusive Bowser and Donkey Kong figures switched between Skylanders and Amiibo: By twisting the underside of their base in opposite directions.
The actual base itself is split in two by the elements, one half being the first element, and the second half being the other element. The figure on the base will be shown in an action pose of their transformation between their different forms.
Game Mechanics: The Skylander's transformations have similar designs, but will play differently. Their forms have different stats, movesets, and upgrade paths. Each form's upgrade path has less upgrades individually, but combined they get more than normal.
They can use these form changes to open elemental gates they normally couldn't, get boosted by elemental zone buffs, and overall change their playstyles to match the needed course of action.
---
Example Figure:
One of the two Skylanders already fully designed for the project, this is Pumpkin Spice!
Tumblr media
Pumpkin Spice: Life and Fire Twin-Type skylander
Catchphrase: "Spice it up!"
Powers: In life form, he uses pumpkins, primarily. Shooting pumpkins from his flower bazooka, creating extra massive pumpkins that crash from the sky, and snaring his enemies in vines.
In Fire form, he bursts free from his plant shell, becoming frailer but more dangerous. His bazooka now acts like a flamethrower, blasting out continuous bursts of flames. He can also create a wall of flames around himself, and perform a massive jumping flame stomp.

Meta Info:
So, you want to join in on the project? There are a few ways to get involved!
Firstly, I and @soda-tab-society are hosting a Discord Server where the community will be able to interact and concept directly, as well as talk about other Skylanders related things! Even if you aren't planning on contributing, if you want to be around to watch the project unfold, or just want to talk about Skylanders stuff, join the Discord!
Now, if you don't have Discord, or don't want to join, people can message me directly, or send in Asks related to the project at any point! I won't really be taking many contributions through Asks, but Messages and Discord are fair game to offer things to the project!
For people just looking to watch from a distance, there will be several Tags that'll be listed in my pinned post that lets you search around for specific things as they appear!
A few things to note about that, though.
This will still be family friendly. No gore, maiming or murder would be involved in the game.
This is all volunteer work. No one is being paid for this, it's just for fun.
This won't be becoming a proper fangame, trying to make that work would be totally impossible. Unless some supergenius coder shows up and offers to make this thing, we're sticking to just making a fun community project.

Refresh - Oneshot
I caved a wrote this during the weekend instead of doing my homework (dw I'm catching up now lmao)
Takes place after Frontiers, so there's spoilers in here. Probably shouldn't read if you haven't beaten the game already.
Summary: Sonic needs a break, and finds himself fishing with someone he used to know.
Words: 2,487
     Sonic was running.
Running through the jungles of Mystic Ruins, aimlessly wandering through the thick foliage, his blurred figure weaving through large roots and vines and twisting trees at great speeds. The thick canopy cast a dark shadow over the forest floor, and the clouded skies made it near impossible for sunlight to shine.
That's how Sonic felt right now. Thoughts clouded.
He let his legs carry him wherever they wanted, not thinking about… anything, really.
He continued running. Couldn't remember why he began running in the first place. To get away from something, maybe. What, exactly, he didn't remember.
He had a feeling he didn't want to.
Sonic found himself running up a very, very large tree. It towered over anything else in the entire jungle. It was quite impressive, just how large it was.
It was also quite impressive how he managed to get to one of the top branches with speed alone, running up and along the trunk. He forgets he can do things like that sometimes.
He takes this as an opportunity to take a break. He'd been running for a while now. Couldn't remember how long, exactly…
He examined his surroundings. Nothing much to see besides green and brown. Colors blend together in the distance, making it hard to distinguish one tree from another. He rubbed his eyes. Was his eyesight getting worse? Or perhaps he simply wasn't focusing hard enough. Was he tired?
He shook his head and jumped down the tree, continuing his run. He wasn't tired, not really. He'd gotten plenty of rest after his little… trip to the Starfall Islands, at Tails' request. He was fine now.
     He was fine.
While he runs, he hears something that catches his attention, something that makes him stop for a moment.
     Ribbit.
This sound… It's familiar. Despite it being just like the croaking of any other frog, it resonates with his mind in a strange way. He's heard this specific frog before, he knows it.
He looks around, searching for the source.
     Ribbit.
He looks to his right, then down, and sees a small, green frog with orange stripes and an odd tail. It looks up at him, a strange look in its yellow eyes, almost curious. It hops towards Sonic without a hint of fear, as if it knew him.
"Hey," he said, reaching out a hand to the strangely familiar frog, "What's up, little guy?"
The frog croaked, responding to his question, before turning around and hopping away.
After a few hops, the frog stops and turns around, looking at him expectantly. For some reason, he feels compelled to follow it.
He doesn't have anything else to do, not that he remembered, so he decided to do so.
He trailed after the frog as it hopped further into the lush forest. It led him deeper, and deeper, and deeper. As he walks, he begins to hear rushing water. A stream.
Soon, the stream comes into view, and the frog leads him to follow its flow. Eventually, the two find themselves in a clearing with a pond in the middle. It was quiet, save for the crashing sound of a waterfall nearby, and it seemed quite peaceful.
Someone was there, a large, purple cat with dark stripes, much larger than him. He was fishing by the pond, eyes closed and completely relaxed. He seemed familiar, too. Had they met before?
The frog ribbits, and the cat's very big ears perk up at the sound. He turns to look at the frog, noticing Sonic in the process.
"Oh, hey!" the cat said with a smile, "Hi, Froggy!"
The frog croaked, replying to the cat, before jumping onto his lap. Froggy… What a fitting name. They seemed to be good friends.
"Good t' see you again, Sonic!"
     … 'Again'?
Sonic stared at him. Clearly they had known each other, once. He couldn't recall his face, though looking at him brought back hazy memories of fishing with… someone, at some point. Weird.
     "Uh, Sonic? You okay?"
"Hm? Oh, uh…" He must've been staring for a little too long. "... Uh, yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. Just… a little tired, 's all."
     Yeah. Just tired.
"Aw, that's okay! D'ya need a nap? You can take a nap over there, if you want." The cat pointed towards a little hut made from wood and leaves, tied together by vines. It seemed surprisingly well made, for something constructed out of raw materials like this. Did he live here?
"Uh, no. I'll be fine," he shook his head as he replied.
     "Okay!"
He wasn't going to nap in the home of a… stranger.
The cat returned his attention to fishing, completely unbothered by Sonic's presence. He seemed to trust Sonic, even. It was strange, Sonic didn't feel particularly bothered by his presence, either. In fact, he found it oddly comforting.
This cat wasn't a stranger, was he?
He decided to sit with him and watch him fish, letting his mind wander off someplace else.
The two sat together in comfortable silence for a few minutes, before something finally bit. The cat suddenly became tense as he felt the pull of a fish at the end of his fishing line. He began to reel it in, and after a bit of struggle, he managed to pull it out of the water.
A small carp hangs by a hook at the end of the line, struggling to break free, to no avail. The cat carefully grabs the carp and examines it, before pulling the hook out of its mouth, lowering it back into the water and releasing it, letting it swim free once more. Sonic could tell he'd done this many, many times before.
The cat looks back at Sonic and tilts his head slightly. He must've been staring again.
"Would you like to try? I'll let ya borrow a rod," he said.
For some reason, those specific words rang in his head. He's heard them before.
     "Sure."
The cat happily ran to his little hut, returning with a fishing rod similar to the one he'd been using. He hands it to Sonic, and he casts his line.
The motion feels easy and familiar. He's done this before, many times as well. He smiles.
Suddenly, the memory of him fishing with that someone didn't seem so hazy anymore.
-
The two spent what felt like hours just fishing. They'd caught quite a few fish together, even caught two bass that were large enough for them to eat. Sonic began setting up a fire to roast them in, while the cat prepared the fish.
Soon they were roasting them over the fire, holding the skewered fish over the flickering flames.
Once they'd been well roasted, the cat took a bite, then another. Sonic could hear loud, content purring as he ate. Seems the fish turned out pretty good, judging by his reaction.
After some deliberation, Sonic took a bite from his own fish, and was pleasantly surprised by its taste. Its flesh is so tender it feels as if it's melting in his mouth. It's quite delicious.
"Mmm… this is pretty good!" He said as he took another bite, his little tail wagging. The cat smiled, seemingly pleased with himself.
What a nice guy, letting Sonic fish with him, giving him some nice food… He needed this. He really, really did.
… Why, exactly, did he need this?
He couldn't remember why he was running away in the first place.
Sonic decided not to dwell on it much and continued eating.
He took his last bite and set the remains of his fish down. It didn't matter much, anyway. He felt great! He went out for a run and hung out with a friend, just like he used to.
… Just like he used to.
Sonic looks up to the cat, wracking his brain, trying to put a name to the face, but he just couldn't remember. His memories of him were still so deep in the recesses of his mind he couldn't reach them. All he could remember were fuzzy glimpses of what he thought were moments they spent together.
The cat tilted his head. "What's wrong? Is something on my face?"
Sonic hesitated to answer, considering his response. "No, I…" he sighed, "Oh, this is gonna sound terrible…"
He took a deep breath, before asking:
     "What was your name again?"
The cat seemed somewhat surprised at this question. Of course he was. Who wouldn't be? When someone who you thought was your friend asks you that kind of question after having known each other for so long…
… They've known each other for a long time, right?
It feels like a breaking of trust, doesn't it? Like that 'friend' he so cared about didn't even care enough to remember his name. Like he never really cared at all–
     "I'm Big! … Why'd you ask?"
There was barely any hesitation in his answer. Not a hint of sadness in his tone, either, just slight confusion. It caught Sonic off guard.
     Big. What a fitting name.
"I… I forgot," he admitted, "I've forgotten a lot of things, actually. A lot of people."
"Aw, that's okay!" Big said, completely unbothered.
"Wh- but-" Sonic stammered, "But aren't you at least… sad that I forgot about you? Or- or worried?"
"Everyone forgets things sometimes. I forget things all the time!"
"I-I mean, yeah, but– You don't just forget your friends, do you?"
There was a pause. Big did seem worried now, his brows furrowed. Sonic could just see the gears turning as he searched for the right words. But the look on his face was enough for Sonic to know how he felt. He was heartbroken, wasn't he? Just like the others.
This was exactly what Sonic was running from. His… friends' worried faces. Them asking him questions. Asking if he remembers this or that. Telling him about things they did in a desperate attempt to remind him of their times together. It's been the same for the past few days since they realized Sonic had lost his memory.
The memory loss couldn't have been obvious, either. No, because of course it couldn't. Tails, Amy, and Knuckles restored his memories that involve them, but not every other person he's known and loved! Because it just couldn't be that simple! He spent days wondering why there were such large gaps in his memory, why he felt like he was missing so much of himself, only to realize he'd forgotten almost everyone else he held dear. The realization just had to set in slowly and painfully and tear him apart from the inside.
And he couldn't blame them because they didn't know this would happen.
He couldn't take it anymore, he just couldn't. He couldn't bear to see their faces as they grieved the friend they'd lost, the friend that was still there in flesh and blood, but had completely forgotten them. How could he forget about them? How could he let that bastard of a… fucking space-alien-whatever-that-bitch-was take his memories from him? How could he let it? How could he do this to them? How could he? How could you–
"Sonic, hey." Suddenly, Sonic realized Big was right in front of him, his giant, gloved hands on his tense shoulders. Froggy rested on his head. Even he seemed worried. "It's okay. It's not your fault."
     "Not… my fault…?"
Oh, Chaos, he said that all out loud, didn't he?
Big watched him expectantly, a clear look of understanding and sympathy in his eyes. He let go of his shoulders and held his arms open.
     An invitation for a hug.
Sonic was never a fan of hugs, especially if he didn't initiate them. They made him feel restrained and confined, more often than not. He'd even say the feeling is claustrophobic in nature. He hated it.
And yet, right now, he just wished he could be held.
So, he took the invitation, leaning into Big as he carefully wrapped his arms around him. His embrace was gentle and warm, and so very fluffy, almost like being hugged by a giant stuffed toy.
"People don't forget things on purpose… I know I don't," Big spoke in such a gentle, understanding, yet serious tone, it caught Sonic by surprise. He doesn't think he's ever heard him like this. At least, he doesn't remember. "So don't say that like it's your fault."
He closed his eyes and returned the embrace, wrapping his arms around Big as best he could, though he couldn't get very far.
     "... Okay," he replied.
Sonic remained in Big's arms for what felt like eternity, and Big didn't seem to mind. He could smell the lingering scent of fish and saltwater in his fur. Big must've been near the ocean recently.
     Near… the ocean. Islands.
Sonic pulled away and looked up to Big's face, memories becoming clearer and clearer in his mind. "You were there. At the Starfall Islands."
     "Yup."
     "I… I remember you."
     "... You do?"
"Y-yeah. At least, I remember you being there. Fishing together." He remembered how tired he felt back then, how much pain he was in, how relieved he was to see Big's face and that giant, mysterious pond that housed any kind of fish imaginable. It was a great relief from the stress he was facing. "You helped me relax while I… dealt with everything. I remember now."
"That's great," Big said with a soft smile.
Sonic smiled, too. "... Thanks. For being there. And being here, too"
"No problem Sonic," he said, patting Sonic's head, "I'm glad you're feelin' better now."
Froggy croaked as well, surely meant to be a 'you're welcome'.
That was it. No rush. No questions. No stories to try and jog his memory. Just… comfort.
That's what he really needed. Comfort. And time for the memories to come back to him on their own.
He still couldn't remember much past the incident in the Starfall Islands, not unless it involves Tails, Amy, or Knuckles. But those gaps in his mind, which seemed so empty and void once, now feel a little less so.
His mind felt clearer now, too, if only a little bit.
Sonic hugged him again, and the two remained like that for a bit longer, embracing each other, before Sonic felt a cold drop of water land on his head. Then another, and another. He looked up at the darkening sky.
     "It's starting to rain."
Big stood up, and Sonic followed. The two walked into the hut, where they'd shelter themselves from the rain.
     "Hey, Big?" Sonic asked.
     "Yeah?"
     "Y'know, maybe I could use a nap. I'm tired."
Big smiled, patting the neatly set pile of leaves on the ground next to him. That must be his bed.
Sonic finally took his offer, setting himself down on the bed of leaves, curling up and closing his tired eyes, letting his mind wander and drift to sleep.

Uuu yeah 💃🏽 🪩 🕺🏼
Fuck that shit
I wanna see you jump
Tumblr media
Thats right, I wanna see you jump
Fuck em
I wanna see you jump
Stomping on a land mine
Welcome to the mind flu son
You can have my many challengers
Through the vine
Feeling entwined
High caliber babbler that you might find
One step away from the beggar in your cash line
Claiming that you spit gold
But through the brash light
Sweet it is to lie on the green grass
From the other side
Trying to look in at what he has
Slave to weed bacc
Love girls but leave snacks
Not the kind of stain to be known in your next fax
THIS IS HIP HOP!
All i got left
Through the page I express
"Loving you to the death"
Feeling blessed
Even though it seems like a curse
From the shadows of my heart;
Sometimes I see worse
So i burst
No longer concealing the rage
Fuck a reason the demon's released from the page

Yeah, I wanna see you jump (jump)
Bruck out dont beat on that chump (chump)
Cos I'm getting sick of getting treated like a cunt
And the feeling is fuck
An' I'm building it up son
So, I think I wanna see you jump (jump)
Bruck out go beat up that chump (punk)
I'm sick to death of seeing her with a bag o' piss
And a train a thought about as empty as my pocket is
Been clocking his hip hop
And his shit sprouting
Don't run away
Still hear my old man shouting
Doubted the world since I first got double crossed
Double headed coin toss
And every triple love loss
But at what cost?
Now I'm right on the edge
Dark pictures in my head
Bish bosh now he's dead
Made me paranoid as fuck
And the weed don't help
At the gates of my destiny
Stone cold
I learned
Its the hell stones, help!
Thunder in from the skies
For the sins I've commited
All the bacc
All the lies
Still high
But I'm gonna be exactly who I am
Start devising a plan
Middle finger to the man
Throught the riddle I expand
Cause we all feel like this sometimes
A prisoner in our own minds
