Should I talk more in my videos? 🥹 Anyway — What’s in my everyday sketch kit? This is everything I take with me for basic sketching on the road!

This lightweight and fully customized bag by @rickshawbags lives in my daily purse, and I never go anywhere without it. I’d originally purchased it with the intent to store fountain pens inside (the inner compartments are soft and fluffy + perfect for storing fountain pens safely), but quickly found I had more of a need for a portable sketch kit! I just love that I got to customize every little thing about it, so I made it very ME.

Things I carry with me: various 2mm lead holders (all with different lead hardnesses), various mechanical pencils (different lead weights and colored pencil lead), 5mm lead holders (you know the drill), erasers, book clips, a pocket sketchbook, ruler (I never use this — I should put it away, but it’s so cute!), and an eraser dust brush (just a cheapie so I don’t smear my pages).

I have different travel art kits I’ve put together, but this is my MAIN kit as it’s the one I’m more likely to use. Watercolors are awesome, but I rarely have a moment to actually paint, and pencil sketching is easiest for me on the go!

Do you have a portable sketch kit? What can you not leave the house without? I put this together so I’d never have an excuse to not create art! Inspiration can strike at any time! 🌈🎨

hi! I miss drawing with people in a café and some folks mentioned they'd like to mess with my sketches themselves and that sounds cool so this is now a thing. if u play gartic phone this is basically the complement mode! but without the fucking ring noise that freaks you out right when you're getting into the flow of it

few things are 1/there's no hard deadline! take this at ur own pace if u do, but 2/I'll also be finishing this sketch and I estimate it to take around uhh 3 to 4 days? from the time this is posted. so if that's a structure u like then let's aim for something done in that timespan as well! and 3/if u finish ur piece and post it and want me to see it the best way to do that is to @ this blog! above all we go into this one determined to have fun and enjoy. I already bought u a matcha latte with oat milk sorry if u don't want that

i really need to like. step up and start doing art about the stuff that bothers me. i only draw what i think is pretty or looks nice or would be cool to show people. i need to draw something that makes me want to hide my sketchbook. i need to draw something so deeply personal and raw i feel bad about showing it to people. i need to basically vomit whatever i think abiut onto the paper and then call it a day
