AU rundown:

i took. the concept of red going up to mt silver. and gave it to Steven so after Mike's death, Steven was so stuck in grief that he deemed himself unfit to live among people as a monster, so he went up to Mt Silver to hide away from everybody and try and stuff snow in his wounds in a figurative sense ykyk. he finds an abandoned research station from the 50s when Kanto was trying to figure out why Mt Silver is so fucked up and was eventually abandoned. and whenever people die after that in the years that follow, he gives them a burial that Mike never got to have. And eventually, when Red joins him, he's the one who coaxes him back down to rehab, because he didn't want a kid who was falling down the same path he saw in himself ending up here as some urban legend, too.

There is also Ghost Mike!! He's not hostile, he just watches Steven to make sure his older brother is forgiving himself for what he did. Hes not!! <3 Steven also sometimes sees Mike but he usually chalks it up to needing more food or sleep

also the self indulgent part involves the irl sona I stuff in there going up to the mountain pre-Red going up there and just kinda. going in the abandoned shelter once Steven finds them almost dying of frostbite

im sad. take some steven headcanons that are strangely adjacent to me irl. aka non-bi curly haired little bit chubby reader.fire emoji

if i see any selfship hate im going to carpet bomb your bed.and ytou will be blocked Fair warning as well, my interp of Steven is latino, curly haired, 6'6" (funny spooky number) and BIG (either dad bod or muscle wise; thats up to interp. for me its muscle AND chub)

bit of a tw for sh scars

+i feel like hes truly patient when it comes to his hair. he'll let you play with it whenever you're overwhelmed (and admittedly disassociate the whole time)

+hes got a lot of scars and its kinda the only bit of what came after Mike's death that he feels like he can be ok with, since they've faded and it means he's moving on. slowly but surely

+by extension, he thinks any scars you have are pretty, too (stretch marks, sh, burns, etc) and he'll touch em a bunch, especially if you feel insecure about them. he thinks they're neat because that means you're healing with him

+hes not a great singer, but he'll hum lullabies if you get too deep into a spiral or into insomnia

+HES GOT BIG HANDS. BIG HANDS FOR HOLDING. he tries his best to keep his claws dull

+he loves the fact that your hair matches his (both curly). he'll help you out with it if it gets too tangled or matted (and hopefully you do the same if he's in depression spirals and doesn't shower for weeks)

+he doesn't talk a whole lot. he likes listening

+He's got like 4 separate modes. Hes got the normal mode, with the shadow over his face with no eyes; The Emotion face, which is what he looks like in most interpretations with just the ring light red eyes; the Manic face, which is what he looks like in the canon creepypasta; and the Rage face, which is the face he has in the FNF mod (with the teefers). Most of the time around you, it's either normal or emotion. Unless you're into the manic i guess (.......me)

+Be warned that he Will just stare at you. hes not begging for attention. he just likes looking.

+He's got big arms for big snuggles!! hes a big touchy guy. he'll stare at you while you're asleep in the morning or at night when he can't sleep btw

+if yall get into a bad argument, he's really bad with words and so he's either going to hide from you or hes going to buy you whatever your favorite thing is to try and make you feel better. or on rare occasions he'll figure out how to say sorry (most of the time that happens when it wasn't his fault)

+Miki is only allowed to be touched by You because she enjoys floofing up your hair

+he'll come up behind you when he's feeling depressed and just hug you and not let go because the squish makes him feel better

+hes got that autistic rizz (biting)
